[Music] so so [Music] hello and welcome to our live e-course on demons deliverance and spiritual warfare i'm so excited to be continuing this two-part e-course really it's ten sessions but we have been going deep into the scripture in every broadcast so this is broadcast two of two we did one last night and now this is the final broadcast all of this content is gonna remain available on youtube for a time we haven't quite decided how long we're gonna leave it up for because we're going to take that content re-edit it repackage it and then put it onto the holy spirit school which is holy spirit school dot com all of the content you see here on youtube will become an official e-course meaning it's going to be broken down into modules and sessions there will be tests there will be certificates at the end for completion there will be downloadable documents and downloadable audio files it's going to be a full e-course just like we've done our other e-courses i may actually just live so i'm continuing this e-course and we've had a lot of responses lots of posit i would say 90 positive 10 not so positive but it's all good because the discussion is being had we're really challenging some paradigms here during this e-course there are lots of things that we as believers have allowed to become doctrinal when they're not based on scripture and that's the whole premise yes you should drive out demons yes we wholeheartedly believe in deliverance yes we are engaged in the spiritual war yes there is a supernatural all of that is true and many of you have witnessed these things in our services and on our live streams but we have to make sure that everything we teach and preach can be based upon the word of god and more importantly that it doesn't contradict the word of god and that is what we're going over throughout this entire e-course so i'm going to be taking questions later on today and it's going to be an interesting discussion because i don't i don't just want to hear from those of you who have basic questions we also are going to be hearing from people who disagree with some of the things that i said and i think these discussions are important to have because as believers as we discuss these things we sharpen each other iron sharpens iron those who have the truth should never be afraid of discussion so we're going to keep things very friendly very godly we're going to have fruitful spirit filled discussions and as we do i want you to make sure that you understand that everything we teach and preach everything we believe must be based on the word of god no compromises no altering no forcing our beliefs on the scripture what does the bible teach and we have to go based on that i don't know about you but i want to always side with the word of god so i covered yesterday the fall of satan where we talked about why satan fell the struggle for dominion between man and hell we talked about the origin of demonic beings we talked about the distinctions between demonic beings and fallen angels we also discussed the ranks of hell this is where i broke down for you many of the different systems in hell the ranking systems the types of demons and so forth now the more challenging of all of the sessions that we did is when i talked about the truth of spiritual warfare the truth about spiritual warfare and we biblically exposed many of the superstitious doctrines that people believe concerning spiritual warfare and i'm going to delve a little deeper in that today i'm going to show you why people cling to these beliefs so tightly why they become so angry when you begin to challenge those beliefs you and i for the most part somebody challenges our belief we want to hear we want to listen but these particular beliefs when you challenge them something is stirred there and i'm going to dissect that a little bit for you but let's get into it and then of course i talked about demonic attacks the many ways that demonic beings can in fact affect believers demons can affect believers no doubt and we are engaged in the spirit war um there are influences of the enemy there are hindrances of the enemy this is all a reality that we as believers face so let's go into this now but before we do i actually want to pray and then i want to go into worship because worship is so important as we worship jesus we enter into depths of the spirit and when you're in the spirit you're more receptive to the word so father in jesus name we thank you for your word we thank you for the privilege of being able to hear from heaven through your word and lord i pray today that those guards that we've placed up would come down that we would humble ourselves before your mighty word and correct those things within us which contradict what dream that shook me in my dream i was lying in my bed when all of a sudden in the middle of the room this dark cloud appeared it was just a very black smoke that appeared in the center of my room and i looked over at it and as i looked at it it began to form into a shape and i saw in the middle of that black cloud two eyes appear and a mouth appear and i could sense in my dream immediately i could sense it that what i was seeing was demonic and this demonic being just began to float in the middle of my room and just stared at me smiling and in my dream i start to rebuke this demonic power i'm rebuking it and it just begins to laugh i thought that was odd because i know that when you rebuke a demonic power it has to go it cannot resist you and so this thing is laughing and smiling and i begin to rebuke it more i'm yelling out in the name of jesus i rebuke you you have to go and i said you have no authority to be here and this demonic being almost in a taunting manner began to say yes i do it was telling me that it had the right to be there and in my dream not in real life in my dream i asked this demonic being why do you have a right to be here and it revealed to me it said ask the one who is committing necromancy in your family and then i woke up when i woke up i knew that someone in my family was in danger and i knew that someone in my family was practicing the sin of necromancy they were trying to communicate with the dead when i woke up from that dream an actual name popped in my head and i knew who it was i called my grandmother at the time i had a feeling of who it was but she confirmed that i said is there anyone in our family who's doing this and immediately she knew who it was and so she called warned that family member and that warning was given when i saw this scripture it reminded me of that experience job 33 14-15 for god speaks again and again though people do not recognize it he speaks in dreams in visions of the night when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds now to clarify this was a dream this was not a real experience necessarily with a demonic power therefore that interaction would have been different had it been in real life but god used this dream god used this dream interaction that i had with whatever messenger god had sent to me to expose something in my family and once that was exposed they were helped and god will speak through dreams but when i asked the lord about this he began to speak to me and show me in scripture the reality of open doors now remember demonic beings affect christians differently than they do affect unbelievers for starters christians cannot be demon-possessed we establish that truth it's a fact that's a truth that the scripture teaches very clearly and i used to believe that christians can be demon-possessed but once i studied the scripture i would rather side with scripture so there's really no argument or debate there there are a few who push that idea but it's not reality and so because we know the truth because we know for a fact that the truth is that christians can't be demon-possessed it got me thinking and i said lord why would there be a concern about open doors if christians can't be demon-possessed and then i read this go to matthew chapter 12 i'm going to read verses 43-45 matthew 12 43-45 when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man he walketh through dry places seeking rest and finding none then he saith i will return into my house from whence i came out and when he has come he findeth it empty swept and garnished then go with he and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself and they enter in and dwell there and the last state of that man is worse than the first even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation now to clarify some have used this context to try to say well see that was a christian who got delivered and the demon went back in with seven others well you would have to assume that the guy was saved after he was delivered and when you compare it to all other portions of scripture that teach on spiritual warfare and teach on who we are in christ then you recognize that this was a man who wasn't necessarily saved in fact wasn't saved couldn't have been saved if the demon was able to re-enter but what this does tell us about the nature of demonic beings is that they return to look for weak points what a chilling truth that demonic beings return to look for weak points they find it swept that means clean garnish decorated well kept in other words everything is back in order demons return don't think that you won't have to deal with the demonic power again don't think that it will completely vanish from your life yes demons have to go when we tell them to go and yes demons have to go where we tell them to go but the assignment on your life still remains the enemy still wants to attack you he wants to destroy your faith and this is a reality and this is a truth that we have to balance with some of the information that we covered in previous sessions it's important to know that though we walk in the power of the holy spirit though demonic beings cannot own us they still have influence in our lives now again this is not oppression because oppression is just a synonym for possession it's like the lesser form of possession a lesser form of ownership for christians no such thing demonized no because they don't have that type of influence over my life not that level of influence we're going to look uh in a later session at some of the signs of being demonized and they are intense what i'm talking about here is the enemy's ability to influence you remember what we talked about at the beginning of this e-course and that is that the way demons attack believers is through the mind strongholds are mind sets strongholds are ideas and so because the believer is assaulted in the mind these open doors can be defined as ways that the enemy makes us more susceptible to this to deception anything that makes one more susceptible to demonic deception and influence is an open door first corinthians chapter 10 verse 12 says wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall don't be so confident that you neglect spiritual warfare don't be so confident that you're untouchable don't be so confident thinking that you're invincible you're in a war ephesians chapter 6 makes it very clear that we are engaged in a war now this does not mean that the believer can be owned by a demonic power but can be affected by one remember deception is the attack it's the open door that positions the enemy to have more leverage over you positions the enemy to have more success in his attack his attacks being temptation accusation depression distraction anxiety we went over these in the last session he wants to influence your thoughts he wants to influence your feelings he wants to influence your actions you got to realize that your thoughts feelings and actions are all tied together your thoughts feelings and actions all influence one another this is why it's so difficult for people to identify open doors in their lives because they don't know if the open door is in the mind they don't know if the open door is in their emotions they don't know if the open door isn't something that they're doing do you realize that something as seemingly mundane as not resting can be an open door for the enemy something as seemingly mundane as being tired can be an open door for the enemy because when you're tired you're less disciplined in the mind you're less self-controlled and therefore more susceptible to responding in emotion responding toward those negative thoughts and responding with actions that are not consistent with the character of christ so where the enemy enters is not as important as learning how to identify remember if you are still bound there's a truth that you do not yet know and once you learn what that truth is bondage is broken you're set free the enemy will enter where he can he will use any entry point to affect all areas of your lives but again open doors do not give the enemy ownership over you they do not give the enemy control over your physical body they do not give the enemy possession over you but they do give the enemy an advantage to influence you toward deception remember spiritual warfare is simply the fight to believe god's truth over the enemy's lie so here are some open doors number one your thoughts philippians chapter 4 verse 8 says finally brethren whatsoever things are true whatsoever things are honest whatsoever things are just whatsoever things are pure whatsoever things are lovely whatsoever things are of good report if there be any virtue and if there be any praise think on these things demons can suggest their own ideas to you demonic beings will always suggest thoughts that are contrary to the word of god think about eve how was she tempted the enemy contradicted first the word of god by saying you're not going to die you'll be as god and he contradicted the word first that he might have influence for deception that thought was planted that thought which contradicted the word was planted in the mind and because it was planted in the mind that individual became susceptible to that deception now then if my thoughts can become an open door i have to ask myself how am i monitoring those thoughts self-pity is an open door jealousy is an open door prideful thoughts open door lustful thoughts open door those thoughts give footing to the enemy to stand on to be able to speak when you give him a platform in your mind you begin to come under the suggestion of those thoughts and that's what creates what we call bondage in a christian's life bondage in a christian's life is not some demon literally attached to your shoulder controlling your every move and harassing you directly in that way but a demonic being simply has to say something that is a lie and as they speak that lie it takes root and that thought becomes a filling that thought becomes an action that thought becomes a lifestyle a habit people say i've been looking for deliverance for years you don't know how many people have told me that i've gone for deliverance several times and i'm still not set free which is why i don't think the modern methods are the best way to approach this we have to go with the biblical methods we have to go with what i believe the early church did and that is simply to cast down these imaginations take your authority exercise the power of the holy spirit it's not a fight for him it's not a struggle you really think that if the holy spirit and some demonic power got into a wrestling match that it would be an even struggle between good and evil and they go back and forth then why do we imagine that it should be some difficult thing for someone to be set free it really isn't the difficult thing comes when that person needs to exercise the discipline of closing those open doors so they'll say things like i i haven't been delivered in this long i haven't been delivered in that long oh i tried this i tried that it's self-pity it's you have to ask yourself do do you want freedom or do you want attention because some people don't want freedom some people just want attention and they want that attention of people trying to help them it's something that's broken in them and so instead of just saying okay i'm going to accept the word of god and even if i fail at it i'm going to keep trying at it they blame exterior circumstances and they want people to lay hands on them again and again and again and they go from deliverance session to deliverance session to deliverance session to deliverance session all while saying oh this does this just doesn't work for me i'm telling you why it doesn't work for you let god be true and every man a liar it doesn't work for you because you're not closing those open doors once you've been delivered from a demonic power by receiving christ the savior and lord and being filled with the holy spirit you must learn to walk in that freedom by keeping these open doors shut and when you allow those thoughts to come into your mind when you allow those thoughts to dominate your life you live under a bondage of deception not under a bondage of actual possession there are other open doors like number two connections first corinthians chapter 15 verse 33 says don't be fooled by those who say such things for bad company corrupts good character you know there was a time in our service where or in our ministry where our services were dwindling in power i could just sense the miracles weren't as great the crowds weren't as big something was lost in our ministry for a season god pointed someone on our staff to me very good friend of mine we're still very good friends today but god pointed that to that person on staff wasn't living in sin wasn't some evil person just wasn't aligned with what we were doing as a ministry the lord told me remove him hardest thing i ever did we removed him the moment we did everything came back to the flow of what it was supposed to be that's a hindrance the enemy can't hinder your life the bible talks about the apostles being hindered it's a reality they can hinder they can influence they can deceive that's a reality but that doesn't mean again i'm emphasizing this because people take it to extremes all the time that does not mean that the demon can own you that does not mean the demon can possess you that does not mean you're demonized or that you have a spirit attached to you literally it just means that you're believing a lie but those connections we have can also bring hindrance because they bring other types of spirits around your connections negative people will produce negative people yes even family members now i'm not saying we shouldn't love people i'm not saying that we shouldn't be a positive influence on people we shouldn't quarantine the gospel we shouldn't quarantine the power of the holy spirit but when you allow someone to have a place of influence in your life those connections can bring hindrances those connections can block what god is doing in your life it's a spiritual reality this is why i thank god not just for divine connections but also for divine disconnections number three your eyes and by the way let me go back to number two i i need to i need to say this by the way this also includes sexual connections now some would call this a spiritual spouse okay you can call it that if you want but but here's the reality even sexual connections can bring about influence not possession influence in your life and that's a big difference influence is simply deception because of the lies you're more susceptible to because of the open door so that individual that you bring into your life that sin really is what's bringing the hindrance and god can break it here's the good news you don't have to go through a ritual you don't have to go through renunciations as they call it you don't have to go through a list of when you were 12 and 7 and 3 and before you were born and whatever else they list on those things that's where you're getting into superstition it's as simple as asking the holy spirit to break that power and it's done it's done and anything that may linger is likely in the mind so eyes are also an open door psalm 101 3 says i will set no wicked thing before mine eyes i hate the work of them that turn aside it shall not cleave to me we have to close those open doors and sometimes that means literally closing your eyes or averting your eyes when you allow yourself to see things that are ungodly that are demonic that brings influence over you and again there's a difference between influence and possession i'm going to repeat that several times because we have to be deprogrammed from some of that stuff that's out there next is your ears first samuel chapter 16 verse 23 says and whenever the tormenting spirit from god troubled saul david would play the harp then saul would feel better and the tormenting spirit would go away hear me now please music is spiritual whenever there is music present that music opens the soul and because the soul is opened you become more susceptible to whatever message is being carried on that music therefore guard your ears guard your ears from gossip guard your ears from ungodly conversations guard your ears from ungodly music that's again first samuel chapter 16 verse 23 the words you hear will affect you now the next open door is a little different it's a state of being a state of being for example ephesians chapter 4 verses 26 and 27 say and don't sin by letting anger control you don't let the sun go down while you are still angry for anger gives a foothold to the devil anger gives a foothold to the devil this is such a powerful insight now some would look at this verse and again when you're looking through certain lenses everything you see you'll force it to mean what you want it to mean this is why i talked to you about confirmation bias ephesians 4 27 is not saying that you'll become demon possessed if you get angry ephesians 4 27 is not saying that christians can be demonized that's a huge stretch and you have to go through all sorts of scriptural theological gymnastics just to force that in what this is simply saying is that the enemy gets influence in your life when you lash out in anger what does that influence look like well if your children see you lash out in anger does that not influence them if your wife is constantly receiving the other end of your anger does that not influence her in some way if your character is seen to be flawed because you're constantly giving in to your anger in a sinful way does that not ruin your testimony is that not influence from the enemy so anger is a state of being in which you can become sinful now it's not a sin in itself but it is a state of being in which you can become sinful and then you can see the reference in first kings chapter 19 verses 4 through 8 first kings 19 4-8 we see the prophets well let's read it here first kings chapter 19 verses 4 through 8 but he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a juniper tree and he requested for himself that he might die and said it is enough now o lord take away my life for i am not better than my fathers and as he lay and slept under a juniper tree behold then an angel touched him and said unto him arise and eat and he looked and behold there was a cake bacon on the coals and a cruise of water at his head and he did eat and drink and laid him down again and the angel of the lord came again the second time and touched him and said arizona because the journey is too great for thee and he arose and did eat and drink and he went in the strength of that meat 40 days and 40 nights unto horeb the mount of god now isn't it interesting that he finds himself in this depressed state this is the prophet now was this prophet demon possessed really ask the question and and try to try to try to stay consistent here with with what has been suggested in the past some would say yeah he he was definitely demon-possessed what if what if i told you oh there's a man who was praying to god that he might die he's very suicidal he's depressed he's just sitting there moping all the time someone would say oh i know that man is demon possessed they would check their little list off he has all the markers i know because of my experience and deliverance that man needs deliverance from demon possession then i say well it's the prophet of god and they would say oh well never mind that's a different situation here in this particular instance god doesn't send an angelic host to come and drive a devil out of him what does he say he says you need to take a nap you need to eat some food get some rest so sometimes we fail to recognize just how closely tied the practical and the spiritual are together and so in this particular instance we don't see the suggestion being oh you have a demon in you let me cast it out and in some instances it can be again guys don't hear what i'm not saying you know this ministry we cast out demons all the time we believe in deliverance we believe in demonic possession we believe in devils and angels all of that but again we push superstitious thinking and we try to force it into the scripture because we don't want to give it up because for some reason we're just clinging to it and i used to be that way and for some reason i thank god he had grace on me he opened my eyes and it broke that fear it broke that power and now we see people being delivered but in this instance his state of being was the issue his state of being was an open door it was that simple when you're angry or when you're tired or when you're sad when you're sensing these strong emotions these states of beings are open doors okay then there is the mouth for example gluttony opens you to sickness people talk about why didn't god heal me i ask them often how are you taking care of the temple that he gave you why didn't the lord heal so and so why isn't god working in my life and my miracle i'm not trying to sound mean but this is the truth that we all need to hear we need to take care of our bodies and some of us are sick because we've opened that door through gluttony through the way we eat to the junk we put in our bodies we open a door to sickness that's an open door drugs open you to torment they mess with the physiology of your mind pharmakia as the word says it's the use of medicine drugs or spells it's witchcraft it's in the bible first corinthians chapter 6 verses 9 through 12 goes on to list things that will keep you out of the kingdom of god one of those things is sorcery sorcery in that particular context is from the greek pharmaco which literally means drug use it's witchcraft first timothy 5 23 don't drink only water you ought to drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach because you are so often sick there in first timothy we see that the use of medicine for relieving a sickness or helping to aid in your health is not against the scripture but the use of recreational drugs that definitely is so how do you close these doors let's review them again here close the doors of your thoughts your connections your eyes your ears states of being your mouth how do you close them do you go down a checklist and make sure you prayed certain specific prayers no god doesn't need that i mean i i can't imagine god up in heaven as you cry out for freedom leaning over and saying ah but you didn't specifically renounce this one thing well lord what do you need me to pronounce well you got to figure that out i just can't see that it just doesn't sound like anything we see in scripture god is very truthful god is the light he exposes and he delivers at the same time so then closing the open doors are simply obeying god life of obedience walking in holiness staying in your words staying in prayer now these aren't the answers we want to hear you know why i'm just going to be real with you we would rather hear oh yeah that's a spiritual dynamic here here's here's the list of prayers you need to pray you'll be you'll be okay we would rather hear that because that's easier we would rather hear that because it doesn't require anything on our part but when someone tells you well the open doors in your life are there because of the lack of spiritual discipline then we don't want to hear that we have itching ears tell me it's a demon please rather than telling me the truth that it's a problem with my flesh that i need to discipline myself in you close the open doors by walking in obedience to the holy spirit you close the open doors through the practicals of spirituality if you will practice the basics of spirituality you can avoid the crisis in your spirituality and you maintain this walk with the lord constantly walking in holiness constantly being aware of his presence constantly seeking his face in prayer and it closes those doors shut and again to emphasize those open doors don't mean the demon comes in and attaches itself open doors are simply ways that we allow the enemy to gain a stronger influence by way of deception i mean if i'm always tired i'm going to be more susceptible to the lies of the enemy if i'm always angry i'm going to be more susceptible to the lies of the enemy if i'm always letting my eyes wander lustfully then i'm going to be more susceptible to the lies of the enemy these open doors can be shut through simple obedience and practical spiritual living and this is why people get stuck in the cycles they'll come again and again and again and again and they'll say things like oh i need deliverance oh i need someone to pray for me oh i i can't get it broken over my life this is why because you're not practicing the basics so i encourage you today close those open doors to practicing the spiritual basics steve why don't we go ahead mcallister so a demon will stay in a body less from just less form just to influence people i thought they sought bodies no so john i'll answer this now since it's uh it's it's kind of timely there demons cannot possess the body own the body beyond the body in any form whatsoever in the believer it's just not in the bible so when i talk about influence now this is again for for a lot of people this is going to be a hard shift to make because of so much of what has been taught in modern spiritual warfare teachings we have to realize that the bible is the foundation for understanding spiritual dynamics so to say that the enemy attacks the believer or has influence this has nothing to do with possession oppression being demonized nothing like that at all this is simply that demonic being being able to influence them through deception that means what they tell them and what they're able to get them to believe it's just uh that simple um aaron hall why are we seeing so many demonic manifestations in society today because things are intensifying in the spirit realm so okay i'm gonna get into seven of ten and we got several things i'm gonna be talking about demon possession now in the next session i'll be talking about how to identify demonic possession then we're gonna talk about how to cast out demons and then i'm gonna list some strongholds for you and cover a little bit of how to overcome those strongholds remember stronghold the definition is a mindset that needs to be broken so several years ago i was ministering on the east coast and as i was preaching my sermon i heard someone in the crowd begin to scream was a loud screeching noise and the moment i heard that person scream i knew right then and there that this individual was manifesting their demons were manifesting i should say so i called them up i began to pray against that power they couldn't even get next to the platform they fell under the power right there at the altar so as i began to pray for that individual another person begins to manifest in the crowd and then another and then another until there were about a dozen demon-possessed people all at the altar writhing and spitting and cussing at me it was quite a sight to see the ushers were with them they were holding them up they were all standing there and i began to rebuke every demon i said in the name of jesus and before i could finish saying the name jesus i just said g and as soon as i said that all 12 of them went out under the power of the holy ghost they shook for a few seconds screamed for a few seconds and then silence they stood up they had been instantaneously delivered it was deliverance in mass now whenever you see us casting out demons in our services you'll notice that it's much more subtle than you would see in other services and the reason for this is because we believe in doing it the way jesus did it which is very quickly with the word cast it out it has to go if it doesn't come out it's one that can only come out the prayer and fasting and you can't pray and fast right then and there so we tell them go and then come back after we've prayed and fasted and if it doesn't come out then then it's something other than a demonic power but we've seen people delivered at least two or three people a service and people don't even realize that they just watch the deliverance they'll see someone come up fall on the floor shake get up and start worshiping but they don't know that person was just delivered from a demonic power and that is the way jesus did it so we talked about the origins of demons and the fact that demons seek bodies looking again to matthew 12 verses 43-45 when an evil spirit leaves a person it goes into the desert seeking rest but finding none then it says i will return to the person i came from remember here this is not indicating that the person it goes back to had been saved just that they had been delivered so it returns and finds its former home empty swept and in order then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself and they all enter the person and live there and so that person is worse off than before that will be the experience of this evil generation so demon-possessed people are tormented and heavily influenced by demonic powers and notice here that the the demon is seeking rest but finds none demonic beings grow very very very tired outside of a physical body remember demonic beings are parasites they're the disembodied spirits of the offspring of the fallen angels and man before the flood and so they roam the earth this is where they remain here on the earth by contrast inside of a body they possess great strength mark chapter 5 verses 2-4 says this when jesus climbed out of the boat a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him this man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained even with a chain whenever he was put into chains and shackles as he often was he snapped the chains from his wrist and smashed the shackles no one was strong enough to subdue him so again demons grow very tired outside of a physical body and here in this example in scripture we see that when demons possess the body they possess great strength the nephilim were considered mighty men they were worshiped among men in genesis 6 4 the bible says there were giants in the earth in those days and also after that when the sons of god came in unto the daughters of men and they bear children to them the same became mighty men which were of old men of renown that's why they give men great strength they were these powerful beings now demons are more effective in carrying out their purposes when they possess a vessel think about the fact that demonic beings cannot physically harm the believer why the body is the temple of the holy spirit he gives his angels charge over thee they can't get past the protection of god unless as in the instance of job the hedge of protection is lifted keep in mind job occurred before the finished work of the cross had finally been established in the earth but demons can physically harm christians if they possess the vessel of an unbeliever think about these school shootings or these mass shootings that you see think about columbine there was a young woman who was a believer spirit filled love god she was killed by one of the attackers why because that young man had a demon in him and because that demon possessed a physical body it was able to harm the believers so demons can harm believers vicariously through unbelievers who are demonized and as we covered in the previous session demons cannot possess believers now let's talk to this point a little bit more here this is why some people say christians can be demon-possessed first thessalonians chapter 5 verse 23 the bible says now may the god of peace make you holy in every way and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our lord jesus christ comes again so what will happen is they'll say well demons can't possess the physical body because that's the temple of the holy spirit demons can't possess the spirit because that's the dwelling place of god where we are united he that is joined to the lord is one spirit with him but aha they will say the soul that's where the demons can possess the believer but remember demons possess bodies not souls and the soul is the realm of free will if not even god himself will take the free will of an individual then why would god allow for demonic beings to take the free will of individuals it's just not something that happens nowhere in scripture do you see that demons possess souls you'll only see them possessing bodies and that is perfectly consistent with their nature so how about the soul it's not something that demons can possess now here we have we we have come to somewhat of a wall because we've been programmed we've heard again and again and again and again these teachings that indicate that believers can be demon-possessed but i want to ask you something here has anyone ever been able to show you in the scripture an example of somebody being demon-possessed who was a spirit-filled believer has anyone ever been able to show you conclusively with the scripture that this is a reality they'll say oh judas satan entered him no we don't think judas was saved in fact many bible scholars think he was never even really a believer what about ananias and sapphira has satan so filled your heart why have you allowed satan to fill your heart filling your heart literally meant fill your mind as in influence your mind as in deceive it was not a physical possession of their bodies get thee behind me satan jesus says to peter that word there simply means adversary in other words you don't have the mind of god right now and you're speaking against the will of god that doesn't mean that peter was physically possessed by the devil and so we can go on example after example after example and each time someone presents an example that may seem to indicate that believers can be demon-possessed with just a little bit of study you look under your own cover and you go oh my goodness that actually is not the reality and that's the truth that's just not the reality christians just cannot be demon-possessed and i know i'm driving this point home a lot because it needs to be something we're released from if we're going to truly walk in freedom and if we're truly going to help people to walk in their freedom so i want to start taking some questions specifically on this because i know this is a big topic so i taught a little bit on this this module we'll call it but i do want to start taking some questions and i'm going to take them primarily from from those of you on zoom i'll also be looking on um on let me see here on youtube here so for example you as we read i want you to pay attention if there are any objections pay attention it will always be what my experience was or i have a story about that's not a defense of that doctrine why now if it was a doctrine that didn't contradict the scripture then i would say okay your experience can lend some support to it because not every experience that we have with god will be recorded in the scripture specifically but at least in principle our experiences ought not to contradict the word and if the word teaches that we're completely owned by god saved healed delivered inside and out our bodies are the temple of the holy spirit that we're one with christ then we have to understand that if you teach that a believer can be demon-possessed that is a direct contradiction to the scripture not just something you're adding so experience alone is not enough to change the teachings of scripture and if you have an experience share it i don't want anyone to be intimidated i don't want anyone to feel like they can't share their thoughts or ask their questions this is important and you may ask something or share something that takes the dialogue in a direction that will help people so please don't be intimidated don't be scared this is all a friendly fruitful dialogue and we're going to take some questions now i'm going to look to youtube here just looking at some of the comments uh william neuer right so what state is a spirit-filled believer who is manifesting ah okay we're gonna answer that right now and i know someone will probably have a story of what about these christians who manifest um jamie mendoza or jaime mendoza not everything is in the bible correct ipads aren't in the bible live streams aren't in the bible you're not in the bible i'm not in the bible there's lots of things that are not in the bible but the point is can you show with scripture that something is biblical especially when all the other teachings very much go against that thought so i see here um if demons don't possess the soul do unbelievers who are possessed in control of their free will in other words can they decide not to do what the demon prompts them to do correct absolutely think of the man with the legion of demons he ran to meet jesus the demons were tormented don't torment us before our time think about this we know for a fact from that context the demons were tormented by the presence of jesus the demons did not want to leave the man's body so why would they run toward jesus that was the man wanting to be free think about this as the disciples are crossing over jesus speaks against the storm peace be still and the storm stops that demon-possessed man likely was able to hear the voice of christ booming across that water and he saw the storm stop he recognized that man has power he can help me so he runs to the shore to meet him that was his exercising of his free will okay let's go over to zoom and let's see if we have any questions guys again don't be afraid i'm this is all very friendly very we're going to be christians about this okay so even if you have some reserves about what's being said that's okay that's fine we're dialoguing we're talking we're learning together um go ahead let's bring uh claudia in claudia crozier we got the right there you go okay he's gonna ask to unmute you welcome guys welcome guys good to have you and uh what's your question or comment i was just wondering um with the with the way the uh angels and human beings procreated to create these demonic beings we're made in the image of god and the angels aren't i don't believe so how is that even possible excellent questions i'm going to show you here some references to angelic beings being approached by humans in physical form so we often have this verse in mind matthew 22 30 where it says they'll neither be married nor given in marriage in this regard they'll be like the angels so we take that to mean oh that must not mean that angels can procreate but in fact here hebrews 13 2 says that angels can stand among us and not even be recognized luke 24 4 tells us that there were men standing at jesus tomb when in fact we find in other gospels and i believe later on in the scripture there in that particular gospel that these in fact were angelic things meaning angels possess physical bodies that are very much human-like so the men of sodom desire to have sexual relations with the angels in genesis 19 1 and verses 4 through 5. and then in genesis chapter 6 verses 4 and 5 we see that the sons of god which is a literal reference to supernatural beings came in unto the daughters of men and procreated now how this is possible is beyond explanation i don't know all i do know is that the scripture teaches that it is possible it's something that actually occurred how that all works out i don't want to get too detailed but how that all works out it must be that angelic beings at least in their earthly form have some means to replicate human bodies and in fact we see hints and actually straight out references to that all throughout scripture okay so i'm going to look um wanda road if a person is possessed by demons do they automatically leave when you become a christian yes because how can a demon dwell in a vessel that is owned by the holy spirit so you'll hear it this is again guys and again i know i know this goes against what we've been taught and i i want to come to you humbly i want to come to you gently i may be bold when i come against arguments but when i'm talking people i try to be very gentle i understand it's difficult to give up these beliefs because you know we've been taught it so and it's become such a tradition that we feel like we're violating scripture by altering that view but this is what it means to grow this is what it means to learn i used to believe all of that i used to believe demons could enter i used to believe that you know you got saved filled with the holy spirit and then deliver like they were all three separate things and the baptism with the holy spirit is a whole different lesson but i used to think that okay you got saved you got filled with the holy spirit ah but did you get your demons out this just doesn't make any sense that the blood of jesus would come heal you and set you free and and deliver you and then you still have to go through a secondary process no when he comes to make you new all things become new now getting back to that question about what about these christians right who have these experiences these christians who manifest this is going to be difficult for many to receive but i challenge you in the name of jesus understand that when we are confronted with the scripture we have to either choose to believe the scripture or choose to believe our experience i'm not saying experience never counts but when experience contradicts the word that's when it must be discounted or at least understood in a new light so i used to see it all the time i would go to churches and anytime i taught on deliverance some of the church leaders would manifest the pastor would manifest people would say oh my goodness these are good christian people how are they manifesting but the reality is that if someone is manifesting with a demon either they aren't really demon possessed or they aren't really a believer there's no other explanation that otherwise you have to contradict the scripture now your experience may have felt powerful it may have felt real it may have seemed to be this this ultra real affirming circumstance that you found yourself in but ask yourself is the way i'm interpreting my experience consistent with the scripture it could very well be that you received an emotional breakthrough and that you felt the power of god and that you were shaking and that you were so overcome with the emotion that you started yelling that could be it but often i'll see people interview these demons i'm thinking my goodness if they're talking to a demon why not ask them about ancient things that took place why not ask them for some insight on spiritual warfare that we've never heard before how are they not ever able to give this information and in some instances they are and in those instances those are genuine demon possession cases but you'll find it's never with a spirit-filled believer who is truly truly saved now people who are influenced by these new age teachings is really what they are guys i i hate to say it but their new age teachings go to the occult and see what they teach there go look at what they teach in the new age world and you'll find that a lot of these things that are being taught in the modern church deliverance movement are actually taught first in the occult and that's not the place you want to get your teachings from this renouncing going back and identifying and it just it's not a healthy practice it's not seen in scripture ever so when somebody has this experience let me just give you an instance an instance here let's say someone is battling heavily with ocd now ocd some would say oh that's a demon could be it could also simply be an ailment you're not going to walk up to every person who has cancer and tell them you have a devil in you it just wouldn't even be biblical some sickness is from the enemy absolutely some sickness is just because we live in a fallen world so they imagine going up to this person with ocd you have ocd you know what it's like to where you obsess about thoughts or let's say you have a personality you just obsess about thoughts and somebody puts the idea in your head maybe you have a demon you'll dismiss it and then they tell you again you wouldn't even know if you had one and now you're thinking oh my goodness i wouldn't know if i had one well that's just setting you up they have it both ways that's moving the goal post they have to word it that way because otherwise if they just gave you a list of actual biblical signs you say i have none of those and i'm good but they have to say you wouldn't even know it because then that puts at least the doubt in your head now someone with ocd will tell you sometimes they feel like squirming sometimes they feel like they want to yell sometimes they feel this pressure on their physical body and that's just a personality response that's in the flesh to natural everyday life but take a person like that and put them in a service where for hours they're talking about the fact you have a demon in you and you don't even know it you may have a spirit on you and you wouldn't even realize it and they go listing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of signs hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of open doors that possibly could have got you possessed and now they begin to obsess about it they go maybe that's me their heart begins to beat they begin to sweat a little they become uncomfortable in the room and then that preacher comes down and they start looking into the crowd who has a demon here of course the person who has that issue with obsessive thoughts is going to be squirming in their seats and the moment that that preacher makes eye contact with them and says something's up with you it's going to affirm everything they were thinking same thing is true of panic attacks same thing is true of anxiety attacks it all comes back to that physiological response to a belief and because that belief is so deeply rooted it preys upon this is why i'm so against this guys it preys upon people's weaknesses to get them to do something that you want them to do and that is dangerous it's dangerous and this is why you get people addicted to deliverance they go they get delivered then they go back out in the world and they realize oh my goodness i just violated number 1783 on the list i must have a demon again i gotta go back and they live in a constant fear and state of paranoia because of these teachings that are so unhealthy i was in canada ministering and you know i was preaching for probably three and a half four hours i love the minister in the power of the holy spirit we did we cast out devils we prayed for the sick we saw miracles and this this leadership of the church calls me after the service is done they say david you got to get up here to the top floor of the building because there's a woman who's been manifesting and she's been manifesting throughout the entire service and i thought my goodness manifesting for the entire service is like four hours so she's manifesting manifesting manifesting i get up there steve you were with me i get up to the room i see a woman rolling around the floor just screaming ah like we often see and i asked them i said what's going on here they said we've been trying to cast it out i said have you you know i went down the list you all been fasting yeah we've been fasting for this conference i said did you command it to go they said yes it's just not going i said it's not a demon they looked at me like shocked i went i pulled up a chair and i sat in front of the woman and just watched her she's rolling on the floor screaming guys manifesting and i tell her i say ma'am i'm gonna find out if you have a demon for real or not if you really have a demon it's gonna go when i tell you and when i tell it to go she's rolling on the floor i said ma'am you don't have a demon she's manifesting mind you she's lost all control of her body she's lost all control of her physical capacities screaming rather than she looks at me and she kind of stops growling for a little bit you can see for a moment she's thinking about what i'm saying and she begins to calm down she goes uh and she's still kind of growling keeping up with she goes uh what do you mean i said ma'am if you and i asked her i said do you battle with ocd and anxiety she says yeah real calm i said this is an anxiety attack this is this is the result of obsessive compulsive thinking culminating to this hyper moment of emotion she stopped screaming she stopped writhing on the floor now some would say ah the demon went to hide now wait a minute those people who were spirit-filled that had fasted that had prayed casting it out for three hours tell me do you think that that demon wouldn't have responded to the power of the holy spirit what does the bible teach that when you tell a demon to go it will go so let's just let's just think logically and biblically when you tell the devil to go it goes period if it doesn't jesus said this time this time comes out through what prayer and fasting after you've prayed and fasted if it doesn't come out guess what it's not genuine demonic possession now some don't like that and some will say oh my goodness you're setting people up to live in bondage oh you don't want to help the hard cases but in every single instance where i've ministered to someone who's come to me for deliverance we either cast the devil out of them we go back and fast and pray and try to cast it out again and if it doesn't work there's nothing a little truth from the scripture can't help them with all of them delivered 100 percent not a single one still dealing with those issues why because the truth is what set them free it's remember that deception that belief in the idea of it that ultimately leads to it so you have to ask yourself if i have an experience that contradicts what the word teaches am i going to believe my interpretation of that experience or am i going to believe the bible i refuse to compromise on this and guys i've been attacked for teaching this i've been told all sorts of things i've had pastors cuss me out because of this teaching maybe then i i said perhaps i do believe that christians can be demon-possessed we've got pastors cussing me out now because i'm spreading the truth guys i kid you not pastors cussing me out and they say all the things i used to say oh you don't have any experience in deliverance like i do or oh you don't know what it is to walk in true power oh well you're not as deep as i am all pride all based on me me me my experience my credentials not on the word dangerous so do i believe in demonic possession absolutely 100 do i believe in casting devils out absolutely 100 you can watch it on our youtube channel it's available on our youtube channel but what i don't believe is these things we've added to the scripture and every single time you will find that god's word ends up being true now i know there's going to be um concerns uh comments and i'm open to them guys don't feel afraid let's discuss this you you we got an open floor here um we're not going to have extended debates but i would love to um i'd love to answer questions uh right there at the top left there this guy really really wants to ask my friend where'd he go ruby disappeared there he is what's your question my friend we got to turn him up or hold on don't turn him up on the system because then we'll get a feedback my friend can you turn your volume up i like your jacket by the way thank you so much can you hear me i can't hear him can you hear me now i can hear you now there you go okay so what i want to ask is um i'm a pastor myself i'm a youth pastor and sometimes we've been taught this doctrine of demons are taking christians and specifically when it comes to sicknesses you know and demons christians who believe that they are sick because they're demon-possessed does it necessarily mean that like you said christians will cannot be possessed but influenced but does it necessarily mean that sicknesses some sicknesses have come to christians because of demonic attacks and when they are casted out that's demons going out or it's just a doctrine that we have um excellent question excellent question remember what we discussed at the beginning of the e-course correlation is not causation we make connections sometimes that are not there and keep them there reuben because i want to talk to him in a little bit again and see if that answered his question so correlation and causation when you don't understand those dynamics it breeds superstition so you have to realize you're gonna one of the some of the responses i get when i talk about this stuff people will say oh well i've cast out many demons and i can give you testimonies of people who've been delivered okay i tell them it worked despite all that craziness not because of it god's power was still present and perhaps it broke a mindset in someone perhaps it broke them from the belief that they were possessed ironically being set free from the belief that you're possessed is just as liberating as being set free from an actual demonic power but again it's how we interpret these experiences so christians can still be influenced that's important to know as to your question about sickness i wouldn't say paul the apostle was demon-possessed many bible scholars believed that paul the apostle had fading eyesight i wouldn't say that timothy was demon-possessed we just read the scripture there in reference to alcohol but timothy was told to take a little bit of wine for his stomach said why because timothy had stomach problems you can go through the new testament and find different figures who were actually struggling with sickness in their body would you say these men of god were demon possessed no so can demons cause sickness absolutely can demons remember vicariously indirectly use different elements in this world to affect christians absolutely but there's that clear distinction between affecting a believer and possessing and owning and demonizing and attaching yourself to that believer that's that's the big difference guys so some of these things you can still hold to but you have to reinterpret how you see them how you talk about them otherwise it really skews your mind and it leaves people paranoid and fearful and taking on hyper emotional experiences rather than true genuine encounters with the holy spirit so bring him back i want to make sure that answered his bless you can you hear me yes okay so my question is as far as people who claim they are christians but haven't been baptized by the holy spirit is it possible these are the people in the church who were demon-possessed does the baptism of the holy spirit have anything to do with that um no not necessarily um once once you're born again you belong to the lord the scripture says that when if any man be in christ he's a new creation behold all things become new it doesn't say all things become new but you're left with some old demons that used to be attached to you in your old life it says all things become new now the baptism with the holy spirit is not the receiving of the holy spirit as i've taught in some previous e-courses rather it's the holy spirit receiving you in greater levels i received the baptism with the holy spirit not in getting more of god but in him getting more of me it's greater levels of surrender so the baptism with the holy spirit is not necessary for salvation now i know i can get into a lot of trouble for saying that people get very upset with me but again we have to just stick with the scripture uh you receive the holy spirit once you're saved otherwise how could he be that seal of salvation now are there demon possessed people in the church absolutely because there are people who go to church who pretend to be christians who aren't really christians who actually have demons so yes you'll find demon-possessed people in the church 100 that's an absolute possibility but as far as people who haven't received the baptism with the holy spirit it's not like you get saved and then you get set free from a demon and now we're going to give you the baptism with the holy spirit because that's a greater level of being saved it's a greater level of manifestation of the salvation that you've received but you belong to god the moment you receive him as lord so let's look now um i'm going to look at some of the youtube comments anna writes and this is a great question anna what if a christian is a drug addict or an alcoholic are they possessed like if someone is a slave to sin excellent question these are all great questions guys and i don't want any of you to ever be afraid to ask questions i know it's kind of intimidating you got hundreds of people watching and you feel like maybe you might say something that is maybe offensive or maybe you know something i might not like don't worry about that let's just this is this is important we're teaching we're going to the word we all love each other we're all brothers and sisters in christ i want you to feel perfectly comfortable um so what about if a christian is a drug addict or an alcoholic excellent question this has more to do with problems of the flesh now demons can intensify and tempt you to have an addiction but demons themselves don't necessarily attach just because of an addiction i'm going to tell you a story and it's it's forgive me but it's a little it's very it's a very raw story it's very crude um but i think it illustrates the point uh there was a young man who i know and i know he would not mind me sharing this at all as long as i don't identify them there's a young man that i know he described to me that when he was living in sin he just got done doing something he should not have been doing and in that moment he was with some people in that moment demons began to manifest in the room we're talking this guy just got done participating in the sin everyone else just participated in demons start manifesting in the room this guy stands up starts praying in tongues and and the demonic beings go he messaged me all freaked out saying i was in sin how is this possible i said you're still a son of god you're still a son of god even in those states you're a son of god and god has marked you and protected you now if you want to know where i stand on one side always say i have teachings about that out there that's not what we're talking about what i am saying is that these things that we experience in the physical are not necessarily always going to affect us in the spiritual in the way we imagine it will affect us absolutely a drug addiction is horrible and you do need to pray against the warfare why what's the warfare demonic beings tempting through that drug abuse demonic beings lying to that drug addict and that drug addict remember open door state of being because they're in a state of inebriation because they're high because they're in that state of addiction and their bodies falling apart their mind is weak the demons could more easily deceive by speaking lies to them when they are weak so the bondage they come under that's demonic is the lie that keeps them bound to the addiction but this is not the same again as demonic possession and hopefully as we continue to answer these questions this actually helps to bring greater levels of understanding to what i'm trying to say okay let me see here uh janal rajput right so what about deliverance ministries is it only for unsafe people if we never can possess neither in body soul and spirit well christians need to be delivered from mindsets christians need to be delivered from emotional traumas now when i say that again remember i'm not talking about a demon attaching itself and influencing you and owning you but there is legitimacy to uh people being delivered in the church i mean i get delivered from mindsets all the time but that is not the same as being delivered from a demon so yes there's some legitimacy to it even still people have powerful experiences where the holy spirit touches them they shake under the power and because god spoke a truth to them in that moment they were delivered from a mindset that is a form of deliverance but we have to make sure we get all our terms correct that we're understanding how these dynamics all play together so that's important too to know let's go over back to zoom i'm going to take let me see is um do what what's the difference between demons and and um the fallen angels oh the difference between demons and fallen angels i'll give you just a simple uh answer here number one demons need bodies fallen angels do not number two demons wander the earth fallen angels can go back and forth between heaven and earth uh number three demons are called devils and unclean spirits in the new testament and the new testament actually makes the distinguished of the distinguishing marks between fallen angels and demons in that it refers to fallen angels as fallen angels and refers to demons as demons or unclean spirits for more on that you can go back to a previous session i recorded yesterday this was session two in part one of the e-course we did yesterday and it was a whole lesson on um where demons come from and how they how they're different from fallen angels does that help my friend beautiful let's go to um someone has a last name hernandez right there forgive the favoritism guys but i see hernandez hi david are we related in any way huh are we related in any way no that's my uh ex-husband's last name that's my children's last name oh okay then we'll leave that there so go ahead and ask your question okay so my question is because we do deliverance at our church and uh my question is when people are possessed um can they sit through the service without manifesting absolutely i've seen them do it and it's funny they're almost like popcorn sometimes they'll they'll sit there up until a certain point and then all of a sudden they just they just go off and yeah they can absolutely do that um demons manifest i believe and and i'm going to say this this right here disclaimer what i'm about to say is my opinion it's not necessarily supported by scripture but i infer this from some of the things i have seen and it doesn't contradict what the scripture teaches i think that the manifestation is a result of the individual wanting to be free because the demons burrowed deep within that human being and when that person starts to try to resist it that demonic power is forced to the surface again disclaimer that's my opinion that's not the word so you can take that or leave it it's not necessary to understand or believe what i just said in order to participate in deliverance ministry um jay hyde park writes deliverance is only for christians so what's the need of deliverance if christians cannot be oppressed or possessed by demons because you cannot cast out demons from non-christians absolutely you can jesus did it all the time in fact anybody who ever had a demon cast out of them was not a christian you can't show me an example of the opposite of that and so when they begin their journey of deliverance they get a demon cast out of them they get saved and that completes the whole picture saved healed delivered sealed and now free from any future demonic possession now christians can be delivered in the sense that they can be broken from a certain mindset such as the mindset that christians can be demon-possessed going now back to zoom let's go to deanna siri let's go to the end okay deanna welcome uh i have a question um so we were talking about you know deliverance from the mindset and versus deliverance from the um [Music] um demons my question is if the person is not set free from the mindset and they have mindset that is not aligned with the scripture but they're born again christians if there were to die before get delivered from the mindset what the scripture says in that case once you're born again your soul goes to heaven even though you on the earth were not exactly aligned with what bible was saying well i think about the disagreements between even the early church apostles think about the fact that some christians believe in healing some don't some believe in speaking in tongues some don't some believe in demonic possession that's still happening and some don't uh there's differencing there's different views among the denominations and the believers all over the world the good news is that salvation doesn't depend upon getting all your doctrine right salvation depends upon putting your faith and trust in jesus and the finished work that he accomplished on the cross so guys i'm going to take one more from youtube and then we're going to get into the next session stick around guys about susceptibility to the influence of deception that's all it is guys when you talk about curses or witchcraft or the demonic effects on a believer it primarily has to do with causing them to become more susceptible to the influence of deception okay let's continue on now we just finished that session on demonic possession some great questions you guys are asking and please save your industry in some regard and if when when people base their whole ministry off this you understand why they fight so hard to keep people believing these even going as far as using fear tactics there are some who will tell you that me david hernandez that i'm teaching a doctrine of demons that's aimed at keeping people bound under demons that's a fear tactic that's manipulation and that's proof that that's not a true godly stance okay how to identify demonic possession demons are real they still possess people it's a reality we all face in our world either in facing it in being possessed or in facing it and having the responsibility to deliver the captive now again we must avoid superstition we must avoid paranoia we must avoid obsessing over specifics can a demon be in that specific thing or in that specific thing so let's look at demons and signs of demon possession these are going to be very important to note keep in mind that when somebody is demon-possessed they are not asymptomatic a demonic being who hates humans who has supernatural power who possesses the physical body of someone is not going to go unnoticed there are going to be signs think about in jesus day people would know that person's possessed that person's possessed and we're not even talking about believers spirit-filled believers the town just knew where the city just knew in the ancient world they would just know when somebody had a demon why because there are very clear signs so that in and of itself should be a good enough reason to recognize that demon possession is much more than just discomfort or this this lower level form of demonization that has been invented by many of the modern teachings today so let's go to mark chapter five and we're going to read verses one through 16 as we do i'm going to show you some things okay mark chapter five so they arrived at the other side of the lake in the region of the gerasenes when jesus climbed out of the boat a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him so there again in verse 2 we see that the demonic possessed the demonically possessed the demoniac still has some level of control over their physical capacities otherwise he would not have gone out to meet jesus why would a demon who was tormented by the presence of jesus and who does not want to leave its physical host go toward the one who would torment him and cast him out you wouldn't this was the man who had an inner desire to be free so his will was being exercised still this man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained even with a chain so number one we see a sign of demonic possession a sign not proof positive okay so just because somebody has one or two of these signs it doesn't mean therefore that they're automatically possessed but every person who is possessed will exhibit at least some of these signs number one is morbid thinking think about the fact that this man hung around the burial caves he hung around places of darkness he hung around places of death why because that's where his mind was morbid thinking then notice that the scripture said that he could no longer be restrained even with the chain number two supernatural ability continuing now to verse four whenever he was put into chains and shackles as he often was he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles no one was strong enough to subdue him number three violence or barbaric behavior violence or barbaric behavior verse five day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills howling and cutting himself with sharp stones number four mental instability when it's at this level there are likely multiple demons in the individual i say that because this would be legion's manifestation and remember legion was multiple demons some say and some believe that it was literal so at least a thousand demons in this man who knows but we know there were multiple spirits in him and so when somebody is at the level of mental instability this demonstrates to us that it's quite possible there are multiple demons in that person notice also in verse 5 that he was howling and cutting himself with sharp stones number five self-harm now it's usually right here that people who commit acts of self-harm would become terrified and they would say oh my goodness i must have a demon it's possible yes but it's also possible that that's an act of your flesh and it is in some cases more psychological than spiritual but even psychological issues at their very very root are indirectly a result of the fallen state of the world and therefore could be demonic influence but remember these are not marks that you have one or two of that will automatically indicate that you are demon-possessed these are many marks that could be found on someone who is demon-possessed so someone who's demon-possessed is going to show some of these signs but just because you show one or two of them does not automatically mean that you are demon-possessed verse number five continuing to read he wandered among the burial caves in the hills cutting himself with sharp stones verse six when jesus was still some distance away the man saw him ran to meet him and bowed low before him that's not the demon doing that that's the man who still has exercise over his physical capacities with the shriek he screamed why are you interfering with me jesus son of the most high god in the name of god i beg you don't torture me number six discomfort in god's presence when they come around people who are filled with the holy spirit they exhibit great levels of discomfort i'm going to say these again number one morbid thinking number two supernatural ability number three violence or barbaric behavior number four mental instability that's a big one guys number five self-harm number six discomfort in god's presence but again they still maintain um power over their own free will now we won't continue to read the rest of the portion of scripture because we've gone over it in this e-course instead let's glean some more truths some from acts chapter 16. go to acts chapter 16 i'm going to read verses 16 through 19. one day as we were going down to the place of prayer we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future and again remember we went over how demons are able to tell the future these are educated guests as demons don't actually know for sure what's going to happen in the future which explains why psychics are mostly inaccurate she earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes she followed paul and the rest of us shouting these men are servants of the most high god and they have come to tell you how to be saved this went on day after day until paul got so exacerbated that he turned and said to the demon within her i command you in the name of jesus christ to come out of her watch this now and instantly it left her did paul have to go down the list did paul have to go back and forth what's your name how did you get in what's your favorite color i say that jokingly no it was instantaneously this demon left this girl now what do we see here we see that this girl because of the demonic influence in her life was subjected to slavery this is addiction guys the girl was influenced by the demonic being to enter into bondage when someone has a victim or slave mentality when someone has a woe is mean negative thinking mentality 24 7 when someone has an addiction of some form these forms of bondages are a sign that this individual could be demon-possessed so it's possible that that person is demon-possessed that's number seven number eight notice that she has an obsession with the occult an obsession with the occult now this is why i'm always so interested to learn that christians get their teaching from occultic teachings from occult teachings how is it that we are taking our cues from the occult how is it that we're taking our information from worldly demonic systems people will come and say i used to be a warlock i used to be a psychic i used to be this or that let me tell you what we believed why would that matter why would we take that information why would we have that mixture of demonic teaching with spirit-filled teaching don't take your spiritual warfare advice from occult teaching i don't care if the person who gives it to you used to be that and now they're a christian don't take it their testimony i'm sure is wonderful they may preach some wonderful truths but just on that part superimposing occult teachings onto teachings of spiritual warfare is how we got into this mess in the first place because there's mixture just because the people in the occult believe it's true doesn't mean it actually is just because they believe they have certain power over certain believers doesn't mean they do your only source of truth is the word of god so that's number eight obsession with the occult number nine contempt for god's authority this girl was mocking the apostles it was contempt for god's authority people who are uh grounded in the word people who are are are strict and who are obedient and who live lives that cause them to have spiritual authority so the demonic will always hate those who walk in god's authority they have contempt for that in mark chapter 9 we see the story of a demon being cast out of a little boy now i'm not going to read the whole story but in verse 17 we see something interesting one of the men in the crowd spoke up and said teacher i brought my son so you could heal him he is possessed by an evil spirit that won't let him talk let's read verse 18 as well and whenever this spirit seizes him it throws him violently to the ground then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid so i asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit but they couldn't do it one of the things that happened to this boy was that the demonic beings would try to throw him in the water to drown him or throw him in the fire to burn him so the next sign on our list a sign of demonic possession number 10 suicidal tendencies suicidal tendencies now again as we saw with the prophet the book of kings suicidal tendencies didn't indicate that the prophet had a demon in him he just needed to take a nap but here in this particular instance the suicidal tendencies were a sign that he was demon-possessed number 11 we can see it in acts chapter 10 verse 38 and you know that god anointed jesus of nazareth with the holy spirit and with power then jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil for god was with him number 11 is sickness to answer the question not all sickness is demonic but demons can cause some sickness number twelve let's go to first timothy first timothy chapter four i'm gonna read verse number one now the holy spirit tells us clearly that in the last time son will turn some will turn away from the true faith they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons number 12 unbiblical doctrines this does not mean that everyone who's made an error in their teaching or their beliefs is demon-possessed this simply means that demonic beings do cause unbiblical doctrines this for example is where we get cult leaders who have demons in them that caused people to be deceived through them and subject them under hellish authority first timothy chapter 4 verse 1 gives us another clue number 13 manipulative personality now again i have to emphasize just because someone has one or two of these signs it doesn't mean that they're absolutely for sure demon-possessed this simply means that this is one of the signs of someone who can be demon-possessed now let's go to first samuel one more scriptural reference first samuel chapter 16. first samuel chapter 16. i'm going to read verse 14 only one verse let me show you something now the spirit of the lord had left saul and the lord sent a tormenting spirit that filled him with depression and fear we see three more signs right there number 14 15-16 read it again the lord sent a tormenting spirit that filled him with depression and fear number 14 torment number 15 depression number 16 fear these are signs of demonic possession so let's go through them again number one morbid thinking number two supernatural ability number three violence or barbaric behavior number four mental instability number five self-harm number six discomfort number seven addiction number eight obsession with the occult number nine contempt for god's authority number 10 suicidal tendencies number 11 sickness number 12 unbiblical doctrines number 13 a manipulative personality number four torment 15 depression 16 fear those are 16 signs of miracle services cast a demon out of a man he came up onto the platform and without even touching him she simply prayed over him the man fell out under the power shook for a second stood up completely delivered ms coleman points to the man lying there on the floor and as only she can say she says that's how jesus did it and that's the reality that's how jesus did it when we complicate the process of deliverance we are like the pharisees we want to add all these rules and regulations and rituals and stipulations before someone can come to their freedom telling them no you can't come to freedom just by simple belief you have to go through the process that we deem is the process and there's great ego in that there's great pride in that this is why we must humbly come to the word of god allow it to correct our misinformation and walk in truth that we might see the captive set free now in acts chapter 4 verse 13 the bible says the members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of peter and john for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the scriptures they also recognized them as men who had been with jesus acts chapter 4 verse 13 they recognized the presence of god on these apostles they recognized the presence of jesus why because they had spent time with him there was a divine spark about them acts chapter 9 verses 13-16 says a group of jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits they tried to use the name of the lord jesus in their incantation saying i command you in the name of jesus whom paul preaches to come out seven sons of skiva a leading priest were doing this but one time when they tried it the evil spirit replied i know jesus and i know paul but who are you then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them overpowered them and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house naked and battered so here we see an instance of someone trying to cast out demons without knowing jesus now instantly i thought of matthew chapter 7 around verse 23 where they say lord did we not cast out devils in your name he says i never knew you and i thought why were the guys in matthew 7 able to cast out demons without knowing jesus yet these guys in acts chapter 19 can't cast out demons without knowing jesus well the best explanation i can give is that what the what was being dealt with in matthew chapter 7 by those exorcists were demons of lower level in influence and in acts 19 these demons were of higher influence and we covered that in the session on ranks of hell but the more important question here is do i know jesus am i truly connected with him am i walking in his presence that's number one time in god's presence you see the reason you take hours to cast out devils is because you're only spending minutes in the glory of god when you should be spending hours in the glory of god and seconds casting out devils there is a real power struggle that happens when you haven't been spending time with jesus in fact we see it in mark chapter 9 we reference this portion of scripture several times throughout this e-course but in mark chapter 9 we see that jesus comes down from the mount of transfiguration the disciples see him in his glory he's glowing when he comes down from the mountain the people see him and they're standing in awe of him because he was still glowing from the glory of god he comes down from the mountain and he sees that the disciples were unable to cast the devil out of a boy the disciples could not cast the demon out of the boy because they had not been on the mountaintop with jesus only those who spend time on the mountain top with jesus can cast out devils in the valley jesus comes down and in fact he's frustrated with his disciples why is it taking you so long to cast this devil out why are you having such a hard time jesus didn't applaud them for going through such a long process he rebuked them for not being able to instantly expel that demonic power and even today that same standard holds you've heard the saying new levels new devils i got news for you there's no devil that can walk on your level when you live in the glory of god there's no devil that can walk on your level when you're spending time in the presence of the holy spirit when you live a life as a carrier of the glory when you live with the holy spirit inside of you that mighty force which is the power of the holy ghost goes through you when you cast devils out so focus less on the rituals focus less on the incantation some of these exorcists are like the prophets of baal trying to call down fire from heaven trying to work up an experience and they can't do it because they're not spending time connected with god what i'm saying here is simple demons cannot swim in the depths of god and when you carry those depths with you those depths of god wash away every demonic power every demonic force you become that deliverance to people you will see your mere presence agitating and expelling demonic beings i'll tell you this one of the one of the points that i like to make is that i don't necessarily draw attention to these things when they're happy i don't mind if they happen in our services but you come to our service and many of you have been in those services you will hear demons manifesting all over the room as we worship the lord but but instead of stopping to take time for each and every one of them we simply just lift the name of jesus and the presence of the holy spirit comes in like a flood washing away every demonic influence it's the power of god there's no trick to it there's no method to apply it's simply the power of the holy ghost either you walk in it or you don't either you have the authority or you don't as if god is looking down from heaven saying i'm waiting for you to do that special ritual i'm waiting for you to do this particular thing i'm waiting for you to identify the name of the demon before i can give you the power no you carry the power of the holy ghost and when you go to drive out demons you take that presence with you that's the power of god people get delivered that way i mean completely delivered it's the most effective way to cast out devils you can do it one way or you can do it god's way and both may work all methods may work because you're using the authority of heaven you're using the scripture using the power of god but i want to show you a more biblical way i want to show you a more excellent way this is how to do it walk in the presence of the holy ghost walk in his power and when you do it's effortless it's effortless now i don't say this as a point of bragging because there's nothing special about me i like to say there's not something special about me there's someone special about me it's the holy ghost it's not my power it's his it's not my nearness it's his it's not me it's who's around me but i can tell you my experience has been that when you walk in the power of the holy ghost demons flee in instance there's no fight there's no battle there's no back and forth and this is why some have said well when do you cast out devils you see it all the time go watch the live streams in our services go watch what happens in those services when the holy spirit begins to move go watch some of the live streams what we've done on zoom where people get delivered by watching instantaneously why does it work that way because it's the power of the holy spirit and there's no contest there's no contest when it comes to the power of the holy spirit i feel like paul the apostle i used to do it one way and now i do it another i used to see it one way now i see it another i used to go and take all of those methods and apply them and now i see a greater way god's way and that cannot be topped that cannot be stopped that cannot be duplicated it cannot be replaced it is the power of the holy ghost number one spend time in the presence of the holy spirit you carry his presence with you and it works every time okay number two the word mark chapter 1 verses 21-27 jesus and his companions went to the town of capernaum when the sabbath day came he went into the synagogue and began to teach the people were amazed at his teaching for he taught with real authority quite like quite unlike the teachers of religious law suddenly a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out why are you interfering with us jesus of nazareth have you come to destroy us i know who you are the holy one of god but jesus reprimanded him be quiet come out of the man he ordered at that just simple at that the evil spirit screamed threw the man into a convulsion and then came out of him amazement gripped the audience and they began to discuss what had happened what sort of new teaching is this they asked excitedly it has such authority even evil spirits obey his words matthew 8 16 when the even was come they brought unto him many who were possessed with devils and he cast out the spirits with his word and he healed all that were sick notice that jesus cast out many demons he he drove demons out of all the people now imagine had jesus spent three hours four hours with each and every person who came to him for deliverance he would have been able to cast out maybe a dozen of them maybe two or three of them who knows how long it would take for each individual but he was able to liberate a mass of people because he did it god's way instantaneously effectively true power guys true power is found in spiritual power not in ritual practice i want to say that again true power is found in spiritual power not in ritual practice when you have the power of the holy ghost when you have the word of god that word gives you authority and god will back his word every single time now i want to share something with you and i want you to understand why i'm sharing this i'm not sharing this to you to defend myself i'm sharing this with you because i want you to be able to understand the attacks that are going to come against you the pharisees attacked jesus because he demonstrated power they couldn't the pharisees attacked jesus because he did things that were difficult for them to do and so when you start doing it this way and you start insisting on doing it god's way if anyone ever tries to tell you anything else ask them for the verse tell them to show it to you in scripture and then go study it don't just take it at face value if anybody ever tries to tell you this ask them what was the way jesus did it and then go look in the scripture you'll see the way jesus did it but i'm saying this not to defend myself i could i couldn't care any less what the critics say i'm saying this for your sake that you might be equipped to come against the mentalities and the battles that people will have with you not that you should debate not that you should argue but people will say things that make you doubt some people will tell you well you have no experience because you don't do it like i do it i can tell you me i can tell you i used to do it that way and i found this way is better because it's god's way some will tell you well you know it's not the most effective way or they'll tell you that um they can give you a testimony well i told you i have people that can do this and i have people that can do that and i've trained this person and that person and we can show you testimonies of people who have been delivered doing it our way that's great but that doesn't change the word experience doesn't change the word so you need to stand firm you need to be rooted in god's way rooted in god's word don't be moved by clever sounding doctrine don't be moved by mysterious interesting teaching stand firm on the word stand firm in god one of the biggest criticisms after i teach something like this is they'll say david well we never see you casting out devils i'm saying that's because it's too quick it happens so fast you don't even know what's happening in the services and that will be a criticism they bring against you i'm not saying that again in my defense or to brag i'm saying that so that you can see the testimony of how this works i say that to you that you might be able to resist being pulled back into that old mindset when people say the same to you so then you must know the word number one time in god's presence number two the word number three walk in humility james 4 7 says so humble yourselves before god resist the devil and he will flee from you before you can resist the devil you must be humble you have to walk in humility and humility is not a personality trait confidence is not pride i'm confident in god's word confidence looks like confidence looks like arrogance to the insecure that's a fact but when you are convinced of god's word and you humble yourself under that word you're under that authority time in the presence of god knowing the word knowing your authority and walking in humility you do these things and you're equipped you're equipped to drive out devils so how do you do it how did jesus do it simple as this you don't have to do it with an exact method but here's how i do it i stretch forth my hand and i say in the name of jesus i rebuke you you foul spirit i command you to go right now one of two things will happen either that person will manifest for a few seconds and then be delivered or number two they'll keep manifesting on and on and on when that happens when the individual keeps manifesting and it appears as if the demon is resisting the commands i have to look at the situation and decide okay is this a situation where prayer and fasting are required and once you've eliminated that then you can conclude safely this person is not demon possessed either they're faking the experience they want attention or it's a psychological response to some of the occultic teachings that have been permeating in the church so you have to be able to base it on the word because those are the only conclusions you can come to when you base it on the word jesus never stretched out his hand a demon wouldn't come out he'd say oh my goodness okay we'll bring him in let's talk to him for a few hours no he would cast it out and when these disciples were unable to cast it out jesus said it's simple pray and fast when you do that it'll go so if the demon doesn't go either it needs prayer and fasting to drive out or the person isn't really demon-possessed and those are the only two conclusions that are scriptural so again we have to be deprogrammed from old ways of thinking so you may feel oh my goodness well that person's still manifesting so what should i do no more than five minutes will i spend with someone like that because either they're super emotional i found this too sometimes they get delivered and because they're still caught up in an emotional frenzy they'll keep going if you keep riling them up and saying oh there's another demon in there and then that gets them going again so just remember biblically based deliverance is the way we do this so number one you have to spend time in god's presence number two you have to know his word and number three you have to walk in humility you do that and when you cast out a devil with the word it has to go if it doesn't the conclusions are simple either it requires prayer and fasting or it's not a genuine demon possession okay let's move on to the next session now i'm going to identify real briefly this is not going to be a long teaching because we're going to get into some questions and answers now i want to leave some good time for questions and answers but i'm going to identify some strongholds these strongholds are based on mindsets okay so i'm going to read these to you real briefly i'm going to list them and give you some scriptural references and then we're going to go into number two depression number three witchcraft and i'm going to park it here for a second witchcraft is all about either acquiring knowledge or obtaining power over people primarily it's about obtaining power and when someone tries to gain power over you it's a form of witchcraft they'll use guilt trips in marriage that's the silent treatment hear me now this is important silent treatment manipulative ways of controlling someone's emotions making them feel guilty telling them nothing is wrong but something is and then walking around with the bad attitude to try to control the person to make them exactly what you want them to be this is why we need to break off that spirit of witchcraft when people are trying to control you through fear or guilt it's witchcraft and i'ma tell you this right now i pray you receive this holy spirit help them receive this in jesus name please hear me now when people try here's what's going to happen lord help them receive this please if you hear anything i say tonight hear what i'm about to say there will be some who try now that you've heard the truth about spiritual warfare there are going to be some who try to get you to go back under an old mindset and they're going to try hard what they will use primarily is not the scriptures they will use fear to try to get you to believe in an old way they will tell you if you don't believe what i'm saying if you don't do it as i do it then now you're susceptible and you're going to be demon-possessed you're going to be cursed you're going to open doors that's witchcraft that's demonic that's manipulation don't allow people to manipulate you number four stronghold of infirmity sickness number five the stronghold of mammon or greed number six the stronghold of habitual sin number seven stronghold of doubt number eight apathy laziness false start begins to drain your energy number nine cynicism that's negativity criticism suspicion of everybody and number 10 is jealousy the way you overcome these strongholds it's always going to come back to the spiritual basis you want to know how to get delivered from mindsets you want to know how to walk people into freedom you want to know how to be set free from strongholds you want to know how to have breakthrough you want to know how to grow spiritually you want to know how to have peace of mind it all comes back to the basics this is the truth prayer the reading of god's word worship and holy living you do those four things and you'll never have another issue with the demonic power hear me now prayer god's word worship and holy living you do those four things you will never ever ever ever have an issue with the demonic power if you're having an issue with demonic powers it's because there's a truth you don't know so get in the word if you're having an issue with the mindsets because you're not in the right frame of mind you need prayer you need worship if you have an issue with with some sin it's because you're not living holy get back into that framework of living holy and these things will lose all power over you but instead we're told oh it's this trinket that you touched it's that triangle that you saw on the tv screen it's that it's that song that came on the radio the other day it's that that book that might be hidden in your house somewhere oh it's your generation's your grandmother and your and blame everyone and everything else when we need to take responsibility for our spiritual well-being the holy spirit has taken that responsibility but we must do our part in participating with him now also see many of you with questions uh rocio r-o-c-i-o by the way i'm getting a lot of comments from people saying this has completely liberated me from old patterns of thinking and guys don't go back to the old ways it's funny once the light goes on and you realize oh my goodness yeah none of that's in the bible it starts to make sense why it was so confusing why it always felt so dark why it always felt so tiring and exhausting it's because it's not scriptural so now that we've been liberated from these things it's so important that we do not go back to those old mentalities and if somebody ever asks you remember always point them back to the scripture so okay so we got some questions here we got someone on the screen welcome and god bless you it's great to have you thank you very much i have a question um did you say that the demons are not forning angels how many people how many giants existed before the the flood beautiful questions because they the people are possessed by legions so there must be so many people absolutely absolutely so there's a lot to that because you know we don't have an exact number on what that looked like we do know that there are millions upon millions upon millions of angels in existence we see that in the book of revelation now how many of those angels fell with satan we also have an idea but we don't have a number we have a percentage so we have just vague guesses that we can make and we're not really going to be able to lock in some numbers but it's quite possible and now we're getting into deep into deep into deep into speculation this is not founded in scripture but one of the things that has been presented in the past that i heard that could possibly be an answer and possibly give us some insight is that these demonic beings are able to procreate even among their own world being as how they were half angel and half men that's one of the possibilities don't take that as gospel don't take that as foundational don't take that anything other than as speculative and it's a possible answer as to why there appear to be so many uh looking over to youtube now i see uh let me see here looking for some questions oh someone said beautiful worship brother and i agree steve excellent worship let me see okay i see wish me frankie says what about the people who possess this one or two signs if they're not possessed but they're under the influence how can they get rid of it doing the basics but it's not helping where can a person go wrong so this comes back to that phrase or that scripture let god be true and every man a liar that will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee if you're not in perfect peace your mind's not stayed on god that's just the reality so somebody claims to be doing the basics and claims to be keeping themselves spiritually healthy but they're manifesting realities in their life that contradict what they say then they're lying to themselves this is why i i i really have a heart to help people who feel stuck and they tell themselves i've tried again and again and again and nothing seems to be working for me and that's kind of the story they've told themselves but that is the lie that they believe the lie itself is that they can never be free from it and so they get stuck in that pattern the truth of the matter if you're practicing the spiritual basics and you're connected with the lord there's no way there's going to be any of that influence on you okay another question let me see here um i see andra isa chen forgive me if i mispronounce that welcome god bless you andre isaacson oh hi brother david how are you i'm doing well how about yourself i'm very blessed i have a particular question um in regards to whether or not you know you say if a person doesn't get delivered could one of the reasons be that it's just not the will of god uh i don't necessarily believe that because you know the scripture tells us that god is willing that none would perish that all would come to everlasting life so it's obviously god's will that they would eventually be saved delivered made whole in every which way the problem comes with free will the exercise of that free will and that's why we won't see the manifestation of that for everyone because god sends that invitation out but not everyone responds to that invitation but it is always god's will to set people free from demonic bondages that we can be sure of um any other questions here from let's go to uh jesuin shaji welcome my friend to the e-course hi thank you pastor david uh i was attending your holy spirit conference and really blessed me wasn't it awesome yeah god really i've been following you because my spiritual father is uh so tuned with pastor benny in and he's endorsed your ministry for us and it's real he's really been a blessing so i just want to honor you with that oh thank you and uh my question to you is that um you know there's this thing about how we go through a lot of traumas and the past how it really affected our heart and um the reality of how it is playing today even after being born again what does that have to do with demonic influence and deliverance what is what is the like the psychological damage that people have experienced have to do with demonic demonic uh influence well again these are susceptibilities so if somebody has had a trauma in their life remember how i talked about demons vicariously influencing the believer through actual means like a physical abuse or maybe even harming them violently because the demonic being can take over that person who's influenced he can take over their capacities to therefore affect a believer so somebody has a trauma in their past they now have what's called a susceptibility a susceptibility to what a susceptibility to the deception so somebody for example was verbally abused oh my goodness that psychologically is going to be imprinted on them and they're going to have trouble believing the truth about god's word when it tells them that they're valuable when it tells them that they're loved why because that susceptibility to the deception came about as a result of that person acting in anger in that state of being the open door causing them to experience those pains so where that would come where that liberation would be found would be in growing spiritually so it's not always going to be oh you know i was verbally abused so let's lie on the floor have you recount it and then we cast it out no it's as simple as growing spiritually letting god heal you as you continue to live your life in obedience toward him there's a much more practical element to that than we than we've imagined so i hope that answers that question i see some more questions coming in here um karla leskowski excellent question can objects be possessed by demons is there biblical evidence for this well in the old testament we see a lot of references to idols and objects of idolatry being called unclean objects or unholy or cursed objects and that's an old testament construct if you look in the new testament there aren't any examples of this except for people can maybe point to the fact that in the book of acts they burned certain books because those had demonic teachings in them but that doesn't necessarily mean that the books themselves were possessed by demons can it happen i think it's a possibility i'm open to that realm of possibility but the bible doesn't go out of its way to give us any teachings on how to go and battle cursed objects and to you know handle these things that are made of earthly materials the bible doesn't give us super specific information on that so that's why we have to be careful when you know you get sent a list of here's all the things that could be having demons in them and i'm just thinking my goodness like if you live with the spirit of god in you and you're walking in holiness anything you touch even if it was meant to be a curse that thing's going to come right off of that so you know when it comes to cursed objects yes it could be a reality but it's not something we have to obsess about or even study in any depth okay lots of questions here on zoom my goodness okay let's go with caroline she looks very excited caroline over there at the top caroline welcome to the e-course great to have you uh thank you my question is um [Music] i i have a background in uh before christ i had a background in occultism witchcraft and so i'm wondering if that ties in with what's happened what's been happening with um someone in my family would come over and when they would come over there their back split in and uh they don't want to live for god but when they do come over things move you know paranormal stuff so i'm just wondering how it ties in with um i i guess they don't need deliverance but what's going on exactly how does this tie in with that is this individual a believer um yeah a backslider okay speaks in tongues um born again not a follower does not want to follow christ so a lot of people don't know this about me and i because i don't talk about it all that much i mentioned it on sid roth's program that when i was young there was a lot of demonic activity around me i'm talking and i don't say this to glorify the enemy i don't like talking about these things because it's just not something that i think should often be talked about but in this context it's necessary when i was young about seven eight years old i would see faces demonic faces in the walls i had visions of my floor opening up and i would see visions of hell in that way um many many assaults i would i would physically see demonic powers in my house so if this person is a believer and they're filled with the holy spirit and they're in a backslidden state again you want my teachings on once saved always saved or not go check out moment of truth i did one on that already but as it applies practically to this particular situation activity around someone is not the same as a demonic being possessing or owning that because even today there's still demonic activity around me i mean steve you mind if i share that story about what happened when we were in ohio okay so steve and i both um were staying in ohio we you know traveled to minister and both of us had a dream that was exactly the same so i had this dream that there were these people outside of our window standing i think i think i saw them floating you saw them around the car i saw them floating i'm on the second story i saw them in my dream i looked out the window and i saw them floating staring at me they're dressed in all black just cursing me from the second story i know this is not something that you want to hear if it's super late at night and you're alone i apologize but that's what my dream was i i contacted steve i said steve this is what's happening steve tells me when i woke him up he said my goodness is that i just had the same dream except i saw people dressed in all black surrounding our car all cursing we both woke up at the same time both of us sensed this demonic atmosphere both of us knew something was off and so we prayed and rebuked that and it turns out there was a lot of spiritual warfare surrounding that service in ohio now that right there is activity around us but it was an activity in us it was god showing us what's happening around but that doesn't necessarily mean it was in me so don't hear what i'm not saying demonic activity still happens and you still have to be aware of demonic strategies for the very reasons i gave you but there's that line that we draw where we don't cross over into the superstitious stuff and we stay we keep our sanity hey let's take a question from my friend james cruz who i miss seeing by the way and i'm happy to see on on here james my friend how are you i'm doing well thanks it's really good to see you it's nice to see you too this is a i'm just so i'm so excited uh of the things that you're doing here i know so many people learning so much praise god um i have i have a question um a lot of the things that you're saying are um are new for a lot of believers i'm seeing the comments and a lot of people are saying wow this opened my mind uh this is new thinking i have to put down the old thoughts and really base what we learned today on the bible so um the thing that comes to mind is you know there are a number of people who are in the church particularly leadership in the church who adhere to different thinking some of the things that you pointed out now when a lot of people even worldwide are going to go back to their church they're going to be interacting with this leadership these people and um there may be i just think that if you can offer some sort of suggestion about how what kind of tact we can use when we're um we're presenting some new material or some new thinking or a rediscovery of where we are in christ because i just i just don't want there to be any um trouble right no that is such a good point yeah that's a really good point my friend and and james happy to see please tell your wife i said hello um excellent question um wait we muted him i want to hear what he said i just said no she's listening right now okay good okay good thank you love you my friend thank you um okay excellent question um look guys these are not doctrines we split over this is not an issue that if someone doesn't believe what i'm teaching that you should discount their teachings that you should stop following their ministry i have a lot of friends in ministry who believe everything i just taught against but they're still my friend they're still my brothers they're still my sisters they're still i still respect them i would still recommend their ministries i would still fellowship with him i will still do events with him i will still have them on my program because this is not a central doctrine this is this is a peripheral doctrine the reason i am addressing it so hard is because of the damage i've seen it doing in the minds of many people who are new believers or really susceptible or even those who struggle with psychological issues they're really experiencing abuse without even people recognizing that they're abusing them so this is something important if you want to present this hey you can point them to my e-course you can point them to these videos you can point them to my book but as far as leadership goes if i believe something my pastor doesn't which there are a couple things we differ i'm nothing major i would never go teaching it in his church i would never go pushing it on his leaders and his congregants i would go to him first i would say here's what i want to present and if they don't believe that you know what these issues guys are not worth dividing over these issues are not worth dividing over so i encourage you if you see this teaching out there make your comments put the comments saying this isn't based on the bible but don't go and do and insult people and call them false prophets and heretics and don't don't go tearing other ministries down we need each other so even if someone doesn't believe what i'm teaching here give them time be patient with them and be respectful especially in your own home church but again point them to the material everywhere you go put the links to these uh these teachings if you run into some teachings that are pushing this stuff put my links everywhere so that we can help um proliferate this truth that is very liberating and there's a lot of comments i'm getting people saying oh my goodness after i finally all like clicked for me you're free you can never go back now now when you go back and see it you're going to see how there's some manipulation you're going to see how there's some fear tactics to try to get you to go back to believing that way and it's all going to be exposed before you but do it gently do it lovingly do it with kindness and grace in your heart there's no need to say i know more than this person there's no need to have ego and pride we just come and we humbly present truth just how it was done here and as we do it gently and lovingly that love is what brings down the the barriers if i just go to someone say you're wrong and you don't know your bible and did it and i just start telling people off like that it's gonna shut them down but if i come to them say hey there's something i used to believe that i believe differently now i'd love to share it with you i'd love to help maybe we can go through and then listen to their questions don't don't just dismiss them and then help guide them through these things send them to this material but we got to do this lovingly guys but these these doctrines have to go they have to go there has to be cleansing in god's house and if we're going to walk in the true delivering power of the holy ghost then we need to walk in the true delivering power of the holy ghost and everybody said amen okay i'm going to go over to youtube real quick and then we're going to come back to and guys i'm going to be on here for a while don't worry and my staff's like what you guys are all doing great thank you um michelle maldonado says is manipulation witchcraft not all manipulation is witchcraft but all witchcraft includes some form of manipulation it is possible that it is which it's a form of witchcraft uh cough waglow writes q a can a demon leave an unbeliever if they resist them long enough great question nothing in the scripture that gives me the ability to answer that with any authority i would guess not that's the idea of someone being bound but again that's speculative on my part okay edna p can demons follow you after you come from a deliverance service and can they enter an electronic device like a cell phone well this goes back to the question about possessing objects it's possible the old testament seems to allude to that nothing in the new testament that's conclusive as for your question on ken demons follow from a deliverance service yeah sure demons move they go about they come off of a person this is why if you're living holy your spirit filled you got nothing to worry about they can influence but they cannot infiltrate that the holy spirit just gave me that so write that down brit you send me that later they can influence but they cannot infiltrate um okay let's go to uh these two gentlemen ingrid godoy ingrid gadoy gentlemen great to have you go ahead and ask questions glad to have you both here with us hey david i i just want to ask a question real quick a great ministry by the way i believe in your ministry well praise god and um it's about house uh cleansing uh let's say because you're talking about having a paranormal activity like around around people per se so how would you go about like cleansing your house like if you have that kind of paranormal stuff happening well i think it all has to do with the exercising of your authority through prayer and vocalization just like you see in the new testament whenever they would pray for the sick or drive out a devil has to do with just knowing your authority in faith speaking against it so what i would do i mean i do this when i enter new places we prayed over the studio i have a prayer team that comes in before every service we have a prayer team taking oil like in james and anointing everything in the service now this is what i believe i've seen results doing this and that's i think something that could be based on biblical principles you won't see that specifically mentioned in the bible but for example you see in the bible that when we speak aloud our prayers that demonic beings respond that's established firmly in the scripture in the book of james we establish that the use of oil in an act of faith is something that the believer can do so that's established firmly in the scripture we also see that when we pray we're establishing god's dominion that's established in the scripture so the fact that when we speak aloud in authority toward demonic beings and they listen the fact that you could use oil as an act of faith and the fact that you can pray and establish god's dominion all three of those principles tied together come to culminate in the belief that you can in fact go through your house praying and casting out demons that's what i do that's based on biblical principle it contradicts nothing in the word and therefore i think it's something that we should practice okay um i'm seeing a lot of comments coming in on youtube wow just an influx here um tony chavez what about jezebel in the church how can they be there okay once again um another thing people aren't gonna like and i say this as your brother i love you i come to you humbly before uh the word of god show me in the bible the literal spirit of jezebel you won't see it when people talk about jezebel what they're actually saying is this demonic spirit is using the same tactics that the demonic spirit who influenced jezebel was using during that time there is not one single literal spirit of jezebel in the spirit realm who wears a dress and runs around the churches and causes discord what preachers mean when they say and i think this is why communication is so important why we should clarify what we mean as preachers when they say the spirit of jezebel they're not talking about a literal you know feminine demon they're talking about demonic spirits in general and the particular strategy of demonic beings where they cause division so if by spirit of jezebel you mean a literal feminine demon running around from church to church who possibly wears a dress that's not biblical if by spirit of jezebel you mean this demon is using tactics that we've come to see as synonymous with the tactics used through the actual historical person jezebel then okay yes that that is biblical but we have to be careful with kind of just making things up you know spirit of jezebel spirit of this spirit of that if it's listed in the bible i'm all for it by all means that's a biblical truth but if we're just kind of making things up we create whole subcultural beliefs that aren't based on the bible and so you have someone instead of just correcting a character flaw in someone they say they have a spirit of jezebel instead of dealing with the problem in the flesh where someone's gossiping or they're manipulative or maybe they're causing division because of an emotional issue they have with someone else instead of addressing the issue and rebuking that person and taking control of the situation we say oh it's the spirit of jezebel and nothing ever gets done to fix the issue so this is another thing that we believe that we have to we have to define what we believe first and ask ourselves is it backed in scripture so again spirit of jezebel can demonic spirits cause division yes but is there a literal feminine spirit running around from church to church who is actually called jezebel that we don't see in the bible but fight rebellious spirits anyway i know guys this is all when i i'm telling you you know what i did when i wrote this book when i wrote 25 truths about demons and spiritual warfare i said i said to the lord i said lord i'm not going to take any preconceived notions with me i said i don't want to teach just what everyone else teaches because if that were the case guys can i just be honest with you if that were the case it would be so easy to come up with sermons every single week because i could just make up some new ritual that you have to do i could just make up some new spirit i could just make up some new spiritual dynamic be easy the difficult thing to do is to take what the scripture says create a structured easy to understand presentable lesson and then present it and that's what i did when i took 25 truths about demons in spiritual warfare i said i just want to go look to the word i said god show me what you actually say about demons and spiritual warfare show me in the word and i went and i found maybe 10 percent of what i had been taught was actually backed by the word and i thought where are they getting all this and when i pressed and asked questions and dug further it turns out we got a lot of this stuff from the occult guys wake up it's time to wake up and it's time to come out of that that that that that deception is really what it is and i know this seems harsh i know this seems difficult to receive for some but but for others you're starting to see it starting to click and i pray to god that we'd be strengthened in that so so again i'm not um i'm not trying to to cause a stir i'm trying to bring a foundation back trying to bring us back to what the bible teaches and that is so key okay i see all the hands let me see here reuben just pick one and then bring them on hey god bless you hi hi master david uh so can you hear me fine i can hear you yeah sound great oh awesome excuse me just one second uh okay awesome all right so first off uh thank you thank you for your ministry i've actually came to know about your program through sid roth yeah he's a great so yeah oh truly i was so happy actually when i came to know about you i've been actually listening for some time now uh but yeah uh i had a question regarding movies and so you know like i i i believe i if i'm understanding you correctly you've mentioned how you for the believer yeah they don't get they don't get any demonic influence but you know um you may have heard like from christians may i stop you there just for a second i just want to stop you there just for a second just to clarify demons can influence believers i was talking about possession and oppression so just want to make sure that it's quick yeah i just want to make it clear i don't i don't want to confuse anybody i'm so sorry i don't mean to interrupt i just want to make sure we're clear go ahead sure actually that's actually what i meant sorry uh but yeah uh so yeah like demons don't actually necessarily uh possess a believer but uh like in regards to movies specifically and like you know movies that involve like magic powers and super powers like marvel and dc comics and you know all those kinds of things star wars um there is this belief that there is could be like some demonic influence through those kinds of movies and you know usually i mentioned multiple times about how we gotta go based off scripture which is i understand but like from a scriptural standpoint uh would you be able to show like where do you stand in regards to those kinds of movies whether or not they're okay to watch for a believer um well in regards to spiritual stuff excellent question um these are all excellent questions i'm not just saying excellent question as a segue i mean these are great questions um it's difficult because it it's a generalization that i would be making about the movie industry and i think that when it comes to films you want to avoid things with occultic imagery or cult imagery i keep using that as the adjective occult imagery you want to avoid things that are perverse you want to avoid things that are overly violent guys violence is um it does something to you watching sexual things it does something to you and why would i put on my screen something that reminds the holy spirit of something that breaks his heart i've raised the standard as as i've gotten older i've raised the standard in my home for certain films and it was funny because after arya was born she walked into the room something was on the screen and i went and grabbed her i thought oh no she can't see this and the holy spirit said then why can you and i realized in that moment i mean i wasn't watching anything terrible it was just it was just not appropriate for her age that wasn't anything sinful anything like that it was it would have been probably something i would have been comfortable watching with any of you but i had to ask myself why why why would i why what am i protecting her i'm protecting her innocence so why wouldn't i protect my innocence so from a scriptural standpoint can i say that the lord condemns movies no but at least have a standard where you say if there's sexual um imagery in it it's not being played if there's occult imagery it's not being played if there's violence that's you know like like um what do they call excessive violence it's not being played and i'm not going to show that in my house i'm talking like movies that show like torture and movies that show horrific murders it's just it's not necessary why why why now if you're watching you know a crime documentary and they talk about a certain thing that happened okay that's different but again i say why even i just spend more time with jesus just spend more time with jesus don't even don't even allow yourself to go into these places where there's compromise uh so that would be my advice to you just guard it yes you know there are some movies i'm sure that are fine no god's not against the idea of a television i'm using one right now but but please have a standard and make sure you meet that standard and make sure you're at least mindful of it so scripturally speaking i can point to i made a covenant with mine eyes i can point to allowing yourself to be exposed to perverse things directly in the scripture but as far as movies go i can't necessarily say here's a verse that covers all movies everywhere you just have to keep your same christian standards in your viewing habits okay um so youtube is is still very very much um active so uh let me see please question alvaro kobka right bible says when people are saying the spirit they fall on their face how come people fall on back it's not in the bible well i do a breakdown of that just look at my video called is being slain in the spirit biblical and i give you solid biblical proof that being slain of the spirit is biblical so just go check that one out right now we want to stay focused on spiritual warfare uh crystal pennywell if we are only supposed to deliver non-believers but the person wouldn't stay free unless they became saved why do we have to deliver them at all if the demons have to leave once they become saved this is great this is excellent excellent question but here's the reality sometimes there's a demonstration of god's power that takes place before the person is saved think about the fact that god heals people who are not even saved think about the fact that god does miracles for people before they are saved so it's in sequence they get delivered and they get saved or they get saved and at the same time delivered it's a part of the salvation experience or precedes the salvation experience so it can actually happen beforehand thus making it necessary to at least be a part of the sequence of events that lead up to the person giving their life to the lord if someone gets delivered from a demon i guarantee they're going to want to get saved so looking now to our questions uh kerbeu crew belty kuru belty hey david hey thank slave girl was demon possessed it didn't look like paul kind of you know called her to be delivered it was more like hey you can i stop you for a second i am so sorry i am so so sorry but i had to read this comment yasmine just commented i was delivered and healed before salvation and that right there is an experience that aligns with the word so experience counts but it's how you interpret the experience that matters most if the interpretation of that experience contradicts the word you have to reinterpret the experience so going back to that guy's question which was a an amazingly logical question in other words why have deliverance if they get delivered when they're saved it's because in fact sometimes the sequence of events is that they're delivered and then saved okay going on now my friend yeah so in acts 16 when the slave girl was you know she was operating witchcraft and she had a demon he didn't paul didn't ask her if she wanted deliverance he kind of just turned around he said he commanded that spirit to go out right so at what point do you need to ask the person or did he kind of discern that that she wanted to be free ask yourself why she would be hanging around him why would a person who has a demon in them who's tormented by the presence of the apostles hang around the apostles why do they come to church services why do they come to the sessions why do they come to the conferences something inside of them is pooling on them and they want that deliverance deep down inside there's a magnetism about them so great question and i hope that answers it okay looking now at the gallery let's go with lynette m up at the top right hey pastor david hi um my question kinda revolves back to the question that i asked yesterday but um with your insight today it has really helped me like understand like um that process with the demon crustaceans and strongholds so my ex this i'm sorry i have to say this it's my experience that i experienced because um one time i got prayed for because i was experiencing sleep paralysis and it would happen any time whenever i'm taking a nap or anything what made me realize that it was demonic he was when like i was stopped playing praying like i mean playing um worship song and my book my body would just go awake like i'm about to fall so i went to church and got prayed for and that was the end of the sleep paralysis but now my question is uh you remember when i was asking you about if demons can go and try and remain ever since then um whenever i'm praying i usually have this experience like something is crawling in my body and afterwards after through that experience of deliverance i've been able to work on some of my stronghold ba every time i'm praying and i get to pray a lot it's like you know it's like fighting me like it would be so intense if i'm praying i feel like something crawling all over my body and when i'm not praying won't attack me or something like that so what is your stand on that is that is it that i never got delivered completely no it's a couple things it's a couple things let's go back first to what you had mentioned about sleep paralysis because i think it's important that we address this again because there were some questions that came up when i talked about this last night sleep paralysis in and of itself is a physiological effect it's a physical process that takes place in your body when you go to sleep your body is paralyzed every night it paralyzes itself in the sense that when you're responding to the movements in your dreams you're not actually moving your physical body that's why sleep paralysis happens now you're aware of your sleep paralysis when you're waking up before the physical effects on your body have worn off and therefore in that moment many people project what they think is a demonic experience and you have to ask yourself why is it always the same exact experience for everyone in that instance now i'm not saying that demons can't use that experience remember we talked about this again they vicariously indirectly use things within this world that are real and have actual physical impact on us to leverage over us so in the case of sleep paralysis a demonic being could very well use that experience to manifest fear which fear is a stronghold of the mind and influence of deception and not an infiltration of your physical body so if it's psychological in some part then the deliverance would be also psychological in some part isn't it amazing that when people finally are free of these ideas that are superstitious that all the superstitious activity also ceases so in this case i think we have both with the sleep paralysis and the sensation you get around your body i think we have a physiological effect buried deep in a belief of superstitious religious nature and so because you tell yourself every time i go to pray i will be filling this that's why it manifests and you're gonna find that god's word is true and that when you realize this is not something that's actually a physical manifestation of a demonic power but a physiological one one of the mind rooted in a deep belief system then that recognition of the truth will liberate you from that experience itself and i will add this i myself have experienced physical manifestations that i once thought were demonic and i didn't go through a deliverance session but instead i i had my eyes open to the fact that this wasn't something the enemy had over me and because i was free from that deception i was also free from what i perceived to be that infiltration going on now let's do a couple more try to get everybody uh let's see uh divina casino davina casino right here yeah look it's an eternity of me right there reuben's going to bring her up eventually there we go hi pastor david can you hear me i can hear you just fine thank you i am very much blessed with this uh zoom meeting i just wanted to ask uh what is the difference between uh demonic possession and demonic oppression or can you just give give us some usual manifestation of demonic oppression uh demonic oppression and demonic possession as they've been defined are pretty much exactly the same thing except we created the term oppression or demonization instead of possession because we had to retreat in the face of all the biblical evidence that shows us that christians can't be demon-possessed the very reason these terms exist is because people recognize oh they can't be possessed so they had to create another term but they can be oppressed and if you're talking about oppression then i would say if there is such a thing i would define it as what i'm saying which is just simply influence or susceptibility to that influence so possession and oppression as far as the meanings of the word not really a big difference but christians created that terminology because they recognize that the doctrine of christians being possessed fully just doesn't work but rather than correct their theology they invented a word to force their theology on the scripture which is a dangerous thing to do which is how we ended up with what we have right now um so there's no difference in that regard now if you divine if you define oppression as simply coming under the influence of something or that deception then that's where i would say okay that might be something that's viable so then if there was a difference between those two if i'm defining oppression that way then possession is the full-on overtaking of someone's physical body with very little of their will left to power that that physical body and at the same time oppression would be just the belief in that deception but i wouldn't say that word oppression is helpful at all i would just say let's just call it what it is christians are affected when they believe lies plain and simple okay guys i'm going to do one more and then we are going to call it a knight someone put in the comments david yes demonic possession and oppression are different david well as always show it with the scripture and we can have a conversation um let me see here let's go with amanda debra hello good morning to you well good evening where you are thank you so much um your um session was a true blessing and i have a question on um like demonic questions during the spiritual question in terms of if an individual has received deliverance is it possible that they still have some sort of demolition thoughts and if so is it possible for that individual to then be repossessed repossessed if they're if they remain an unbeliever yes repossessed if they may remain a believer no there's no way that could happen again can they come under influence of that demonic being's lies yes because that demon will come back to gain as much influence over that person as they possibly can this does not mean that therefore that person becomes possessed all over again so to answer your question yes that person can come under the influence but not under the ownership and that's the distinction i hope i made very clear uh throughout this e-course you guys we love you all i'm gonna announce the
