[Music] yes God tonight on game night Nicky Debra Kevin rusty Lincoln and myself Dave are gonna play ironically just one thank you sir three of seven players published by repos and designed by Ludovic rowdy and Bruno softer so let's get to it Hey just one please will I teach you just one yes okay just one is a cooperative party game we are all basically playing together and it's kind of like password in a way there is going to be 13 cards as a game so we'll deal out 13 cards and someone will be the star player let's say it's me and you're gonna take that card and you're gonna put it like this right and it'll be in front of you and then there are five words on this card so I'll just randomly pick a number and say let's do word - all right I don't know what word to his but you guys are now going to take your wife erase markers and your boards and you're gonna write down a one word clue that will get me to this as in password let's say right here are some rules you cannot write words that are that include this form of the word in any way shape or form so if the word was Prince you could not write princess all right you cannot write that word in a foreign language so if the word was water you could not write agua all right you cannot make up words I don't know why that's in the rules but it is you can't write words that sound like the word that don't relate to the word in any way so you can't write whether with an H for whether with an EI all right but you reset all the right words ever have a word yeah okay yeah can it be a proper name yeah okay okay as long as it's one word it's not sure that was the first thing I said but maybe I didn't and I'm pretty sure I did all right do you have one word yes okay so my eyes would be closed on me during this thing but what's gonna happen but my guess is you are now going to compare your words with each other go ahead and bream all out let's just look at we got no no okay celebrity is lemony so these would come out and then I would just get an IV as you don't have it first he ruined it for you I know so I would get Fame night and Sun Fame night and Sun and the way it works is this false i can either guess or i can pass if i pass then we don't get this word this card goes out of the game and it's now Nikki's turn if I guess and get it right then we get this card to count towards our score at the end and if I get it wrong mode we lose this card but we lose the next card in our stack to count towards our store at the ends of the pass there's a pass to that's a pass if you pass you just lose the car but you know who's in this card son son Knight Fame you had one other you have one other clue celebrity yeah but even knowing that son Knight Fame okay fine I don't know what is it stop Oh star huh see celebrity threw me off my father I actually thought it was these can be like proper names these can be there wasn't one on here but these can be more than one word I think right so this is why y'all just star because it's you know well if here's Elvis for example I almost did twinkle someone else might have done it I wrote Judy Garland I should have totally gotten this movie so I don't have to be duty and cuz I forgot but you can do symbols you can do abbreviations you can do numbers those are legitimate in this game so you could do like double-oh-seven if the word was bond so I could use Prince's little symbol if the west Prince no because that's in my opinion no because that's the same word in a different language no it's the artist formerly known as Prince that season isn't a symbol now but you can use like you couldn't use a dollar sign indicating money but she you could use a dollar sign to imitate indicate if the word was like commerce if that makes any sense she's acting it out I'm not I'm not guessing bear but that you know that's what I get from this and that that doesn't make sense this was this was a challenging one yes I thought about something along those lines right I have to say I admit I for some reason thought I was giving you this clue huh I'm not going to pass all right well no if this was in their teapot oh my god teapot in pod what if I'd written that so I'm second from the bottom one two three four five six seven we basically came in two that's pretty bad so I know you haven't played it what did you yeah that was fun I do I wonder if you play with the same people you get closer to it or I don't know right were you the shorthand yeah a little bit of that you know since I'm stranger to the group I don't know I don't know that although you guys three of you were doing the TV show which was amazing that was why I went this way I was like right you know but then cab makes no sense I mean that's terrible to Cody on cab but didn't yeah because it would have been really gotten it down yeah one of the right because you had all the words and they just were very specific the funny thing is is this I was a Danza it's fantastic that is actually what finally triggered it for me it was the yellow and the helmet Oh got it right but Hale and yellow stuck in my head so yellow cap right yeah hey look excess I was gonna put checker and I always put a girl right that was put checker that was why I did not do that I wanted to to me but cab is the same I mean it's they're interchangeable right it's it's very difficult I was trying to think cuz I was gonna put dance right taxi dance right which how weird would that be right you would never give it there I would know it if anyway well yeah but but taxi dance is where you pay almost what confessions as well then it could have intact your cabin what do you think Nikki oh it's always fun yeah I've played it a few times scoring or not scoring - yeah I mean this thing could just go on forever if you don't score this may be the first time I've ever played with the scoring system and I played this game a lot it's a perfect kind of like it's added a convention people kind of walk by and go what are you guys doing and then after like four or five cards where you're not really scoring someone goes what you want to swap in for me and people do right and it can be played for almost like an hour and a half that way but you know a full 45 minutes later it's a completely different group of people still playing that same copy of that game right it's interesting so the original version this game is called we are the word is designed by - I believe that is the correct name and it's designed by two guys you would never think that would do kind of game it's the guys that did seventh continent and it did not do any business in the original version of the game and and it's like I don't think they did anything to it but just change components but it is a fantastic game and it's one of those types of games that you almost feel like it should have existed before but it's just that little twist right the cooperative element is what really makes it I think distinctives right plus I actually do like the scoring method they might have changed that idea but no it's fun yeah I actually like it just because you know you don't want to you want to try to do the best you can and I think we've mostly played with the score what I think about part of the reason I think people don't tell the people that I've played with don't tend to play with a screen method is a they don't want to play the game and then play it again they want to just keep playing right but also be and you've done this you guessing you're wrong and everyone goes okay second clue like we play on em where and the second clues cannot match any of the first one so like you now have to write a second new clue and those can cancel out because you don't want to what I don't the only thing I don't like with the scoring system even though it works for a game is I don't like the idea of penalizing someone for getting it wrong right it's kind of hard enough sometimes and passing is not as fun right you wanted you always want to try to make it gastly what do you think rusty oh I love this game I've played numerous times with you and others at conventions and it's so nice to be able to twist a little also I know that for a while we were trying to words yes and we were putting two words up and you used one click or did I have that backwards we put no we won't each person only was able to put one clue for both words that they write we're easy to answer works yeah and it just you you can wrap up the difficulty level if you want with your own rules right but it's just such a sweet little game that anybody can get into and it's great for all age groups and everybody it's a lot of fun yeah absolutely well obviously you can tailor it any way you want we we played one game where we were trying to be it was a small group of like puzzle people right and we're like the word I think was paradise yeah and someone goes it wasn't me that someone's like I know this is illegal but I'm doing it and they just parking lot question mark oh that's so fantastic and so we've got some odd clue for some folks over man right but the point was that inspired us like okay all clues now have to have question marks the nmos so suppose to the aim we were all trying to think of weird lateral clues and and putting question marks after them and if you couldn't really think of one you could ignore the question mark rule but the point is that's the beauty of it right it's it's malleable too however you really want to play it ultimately would you think yeah have you played this before Kevin no I loved it like my my gauge is when we're playing and I'm thinking already like I'm gonna go buy this so Lizzy and I love party games well we can have a lot of people we played a game on game night and before I left the studio I did not ordering it on Amazon so it's like I know this is a game that I would love to play but yeah it's I mean rusty said it's infinitely fun I yes I want to keep playing round it around not do the scoring thing maybe you just play until you hit 13 that's right penalizing but it's really fun there's there's there's enough cards with it with five words in the car and you will occasionally if you played a bunch come up yes was my rebandage played it - about a month ago and Strauss didn't work thing but the repeats are okay as long as you're not guessing and even if you're guessing sometimes the repeats don't help because you never know the group think you're necessarily playing it obviously if you're playing with the same people every time but this is exactly the kind of game that you probably don't play with the same people right fairly depending on I guess and I love that I do like the games it's just like code names where you can migrate in and out and just keep your name which is really fun cuz it's just the experience of doing it is what's great admittedly it's a scoring it's fun though I mean it's interesting I do like the challenge of trying to make it too because the way it works is you get damaged if you guess incorrectly right that's that's where the scoring is important yeah I understand but I also do love games that just keep going it's fun and it also is making my wipe erase marker futures more balanced right yeah yeah this is the time to get into why breeze yeah you can make a mute well cool thanks for teaching us Dave you are welcome and
