our new location in la mirada if you didn't know already we have moved from buena park to la mirada if you need the address or any information you can take a look at this screen or go to our website and you can see it there we're so excited that this move is taking place and it's been an adventure for sure due to the move we have new names so don't get confused when you see all our social media platforms instagram facebook and our website are now we are lw so when you see we rlw know that those were the lwcc bp accounts due to the change we had to move things around on social media as well [Music] let's go through a few of our announcements [Music] we are lw upcoming events which is our normal schedule during the week our lw kids live zoom lessons are still taking place sundays at 1 30 pm this is a great time for your kids to join in and use some social skills and learn all about the lord on tuesday we have a james digital bible studies those happening tuesday and wednesdays if you need further information go to our website you can also get your handouts on there and also don't forget our live youth fridays at 8 pm stay up to date with them on their schedule where they're meeting and how they're meeting which leads us to our in-person and online services all services will be online only until announced we are not ready just yet to have people in the building so we want to make sure that everyone knows that services are going to be on vimeo facebook youtube and our website we will let you know when we're going to have in-person services soon we've been getting a lot of questions concerning our giving platforms with the move tidely is still there and still available for you and it's still the same way to give you don't have to change anything if we do change it thing is that we learn to stay faithful in our giving i want to read a portion of scripture real quick in second corinthians chapter 9 verse 7 out of the amplified it reads like this like this let each one give thoughtfully and with purpose just as he has decided in his heart not grudgingly or under compulsion for god loves a cheerful giver amen and so the scripture here is saying god loves a cheerful giver and so it's saying giving with the purpose how many know that's what we do when we give we give with the purpose we came we're in a new building now and we still have to learn to be faithful in our giving maybe you've already paid your tithes and the lord's been challenging you to give above your tithes i want to i want to encourage you step out on that challenge and say god i'm going to give above because i know you are faithful amen stepping in here it's not like okay we reached it no this is just the beginning of what god wants to do amen but everything that we do takes finances amen so those we want to encourage you now that we're cheerful the definition means a state of gladness or joy he says so when we learn to give and we have the proper attitude it's going to be a joy to give we're going to say god man i'm just so glad that i'm not where i used to be i'm so glad god that you're able to to give me breakthroughs in the areas of my finances god i'm so glad that i'm learning to trust you even more amen because this is a big step of faith coming here amen god has blessed us amen so that's something to have joy about amen so we're going to pray and i'm going to ask you to join me in prayer amen and i want to ask you those that are that are watching live amen let's continue to be faithful in our giving let's pray father we come before you right now god and we lift up god our tithes and our offering to you father lord multiply them for the furtherance of your gospel lord continue to challenge us god because we have the victory god continue god to simple message it's going to be a short message tonight amen um but you know one of the things that you know when we were walking around the grounds here you know i got to meet a couple of the neighbors and one of a gentleman that lives to our left uh he was excited he says he man i'm excited for you guys he says uh you know that's that church uh there hasn't been anyone occupying it for over a year since all this took place but he says you know i'm excited for you guys and what you know what's going to take place and and you know we're just making friends reaching out to people and uh you know it just got me uh thinking about you know all that uh one of the the the areas in our life is uh is growth but one of the things that i realized that in order to to to grow in order to to uh uh reach our our destiny part of it has to do with embracing change you know when when a lot of this took place over a year ago now you know we didn't know we didn't foresee what was going to take place hindsight 2020 if we knew then what we know now what would we have done different one of the huge aspects of our personal growth in any area it could be in your career it could be in your marriage in your your personal relationship with the lord or your ministry is your ability to embrace change tonight i want to speak a little bit on that if you turn with me to the book of isaiah chapter 43 isaiah 43 chapter 9 chapter 43 verse 19. amen and i just want to wish my my grandsons uh shiloh and silas today they turn five years old amen and i know they're watching they watch and they always point to the tv today there's papa so congratulations to them five years i call them thunder and lightning amen you never know what's going to happen when they show up hallelujah isaiah 43 he reads this it says behold i am about to do something new even now it is coming do you not see it indeed i will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert let's pray father i thank you lord for tonight father thank you for this opportunity lord god to just just stand here lord god and give a word to your people father i pray lord that hearts are receptive tonight and god that your word father would flow through me lord god your word is anointed father i ask lord god that anointing flow through me i pray this lord in your son's glorious name giving you all honor glory and praise hallelujah so you know like i said you know i was just going over some thoughts of how this whole year has taken place and some of the changes that we've had to make and adjustments that we've had to make to navigate through anything that we do it's it's so bizarre how how we've had to change things how things you can't even go to certain places you have to call they meet you in the parking lot they you know in all the adjustments that we have made and and part of the area in our walk with god is that our willingness and our ability to embrace change any time you read throughout the scriptures that god was going to do something new something marvelous there was a sacrifice that took place you know it wasn't easy uh just you know coming in there was there was a lot of opposition to living word coming to this city and anytime someone make a stand and any time god is going to do something great in and there's going to be a breakthrough you will always face opposition expect it what we do is in in in the area is is either we are going to embrace it or we will release it many times some of us we can attest that before we reach the blessing that god was going to give to us that we you know what sometimes we just said you know what it it's not worth it it's it's you know it's too hard you know you know everybody has the objective january 1st to drop those pounds in january 4th and 5th the goal is done because you have good intentions and you and you see what needs to be done and you're you're all fired up you got new shoes you got you got sweatsuits you you you uh you know got the gold package at the gym you did all the things that you thought you need to do but when sacrifice came involved and change was going to need to take place we change our minds for a lot of us we flowed with the changes all around us some of us have made drastic changes in our life and tonight i put a few things together that i think will help us understand what's involved with change the first thing that i i believe that we must embrace is that change get this change is inevitable change is going to happen whether we wanted to or not embracing change encourages development because we repel change we sometimes go through life without ever living up to the full potential that god has for us we become content we become complacent in a place where we feel like you know what this is as far as i want to go you were a kid and it was summertime and it was hot and you know what you you went to the beach but you you know you you didn't want to go into the water you just wanted to get your feet wet you're okay with that but you had those crazy cousins that were out there calling come in the water is good man waves are crashing you're drinking salt water you're going nuts but because you did not you didn't you didn't experience the fullness that they were experiencing you weren't willing to step out of your comfort zone change is inevitable it's part of life and no matter how happy we are with how things are currently we will always change see all around us there is change happening on a daily basis we are forever growing expanding aging and changing every day you know you look around and i i get a kick out of out of young people you know i seen a picture of this older these two it was taken in world war ii and one gentleman one soldier was carrying another soldier on his on his back and he's trekking through the this area but the gentleman on his back was turning back and firing and the caption said this it says when you see that old man shuffling walking and trying to get through to his car and struggling to get the key and all these things remember that that man at one point in time was was a bad dude at one point in time that man did some things that were unspeakable but so we get to an area in our life where we say you know what uh i i want to do these things god has shown me some things that that you know what that i think are attainable but as the sacrifices become apparent to us we realize that man i didn't know it was going to be that hard one of the things that we see is that change is the key to our success and happiness a person that is in the will of god will always have the joy of the lord a person who struggles a person who wrestles with the call of god on their life in whatever area it is it could be in ministry it could be in preaching it could be in in the music any area that god has called you and you are not stepping in that direction you will never be happy you will never really fulfill the fullness of god in your life until you do what god has called you to do see if we could learn to let change work for us and benefit us we could be happier with our lives and the process of growth embracing change is the key to success and happiness see we see the israelites and what started as a 10 some say 10 11 mile trek turned into a 40-year journey and you have to think what were some of the things that they were unwilling to do to reach their destiny because god had a plan and a purpose for them but it was through their disobedience in the through any areas in their life that they were unwilling to change they never fulfilled that call on their life see unwilling to yield and embrace change unwillingness to change can only lead you to wandering and accept where you are in life see there are people who are not living a fulfilled life and they've just pretty much are content with where they are they understand what's involved but they will never reach the areas where god wants to areas in their life that god is trying to stretch them god is trying to get them to a point where they release things but because we hold on to them and we embrace them we cannot receive what god is trying to give us one of the areas when i see every time i see the yield sign i'm always aware that what that entails see we a lot of times we see the yield sign and we think it's you know speed up before they do it but it's it's to proceed cautiously because we don't know what's going to come we don't know what what can come in and blindside us so when when we reference to yield to god in other in other words look at surrender to god and just be willing to go where god leads you to yield to the lord the second thing i want to bring out tonight is that change to make change get this make change while you can before change makes you see it is better to initiate changes in ourselves using our free will than to let our life progress down a negative path until change affects us in a dramatic way see we all face it areas we're we're constantly being told you're being told by your doctor that you know what you need to stop that we're told by your by uh you know our our spouse is like you know what hey you need to do this and we could listen we could adhere to it we could we could embrace but if we're unwilling to make those changes none of the things happens in the course that that will take place it's inevitable we said this earlier is that change is going to happen whether we want it to or not god is going to move god is not god not is waiting for us to make up our mind before he has a breakthrough if god has called you to a city and you refuse or you just say you know what not this time it's not my time or you know what i don't like the city the it's overpopulated or whatever reason we could come up with god will call somebody else one of the things too is that we must understand is that our attitude toward life is affected by your ability to embrace change how many here have ever worked with somebody who had a bad attitude you can't flow i've heard this before this is that your attitude determines your altitude how you see things how you receive them how you embrace them determines on where you will go i mean i'll be honest there are times where i've had a stinky attitude i don't want to work with that person like pastor said he said i don't like that guy i don't want to work with that i don't like i don't like that i don't like that you're you you you get so negative in what you and you feel that the world revolves around you that we miss out we miss out it affects our ability to embrace change see if change happens to you rather than you influencing that change you are much more likely to feel like you are being dragged through life that's why google 2019 the most searched was how do i better my life everyone wants to know how can i be happier how can i how you know and the world's ideas is look if i have a better job if i make more money if i have a bigger house if i get a better car if i have you know this and they're always changing things but it never really fulfills the void happiness is doing what you are called to do see i said i say this to young people it says do what you're do what you're doing until you're called to do what you're supposed to do whether wherever area it could be it could be in music it could be in teaching it could be you know in in any area of the ministry and you're faithful to that and you embrace it and you say you know what god if this is where you want me to be god if you want me to clean the restrooms if you want me to vacuum if you want me to straighten out chairs if you want me just to greet people i will do it and i will do it with joy i will do it unto you because when i do it i know i honor you and when you do it with that attitude god blesses it and god elevates you and you have a happiness you have a a joy that that surpasses all understanding you have you're in you're in the center of where god wants you to be and you're changing see every time you interact with people it's it's an opportunity for you to stretch see if we just hung out with the people that fit our mold we will never grow sometimes god will put you in front of a person that's totally not somebody in the world that you would have hung out with that you would even like maybe give a hello to and god puts them before you gives you an opportunity to show that individual christ through you so making that change while you can before the change makes you see the israelites were set for destiny in numbers 13 he sends out the 12 scouts we know this verse 13 he says this in chapter 13 he says send out the men to explore the land of cain in the land i am giving to the israelites send one leader each from the 12 ancestral tribes see one thing that took place was that they became comfortable in quran peran means is it's a desolate it's a desert in verse 27 he says they returned with the report that it was true that the the land was beautiful it was flowing with milk and honey flowing rivers beautiful hillsides but because their fear of change they would not proceed they settled in kadish kadish bernia translates the holy place of the desert of wandering see an individual who is not where they are supposed to be and not embracing the change that god is bringing to their life they wander they're just there and they're not happy these are the people who feel that maybe if i go to the other church maybe if i if i if i you know uh do this and do that and do all these things enroll in bible college and do all these things that i will have that happiness happiness is being where god wants you to be see when we were making this move here people were ready to determine whether they were going to come or not oh you know what it's a little too far out of my way you know uh you know you know i already drive far enough look it if the saying is is a church alive is worth the drive if you go where god is preaching the word and lives are being transformed and god is doing something that is a church that you want to belong to that is the church that you want to embrace that you want to encourage and you can look at all the all the things all the areas the devil will give you 101 reasons why you don't need to come out to la mirada there's a church across the street from you there's a church down the street from you they have a bigger ministry over here they have nicer chairs over here all the reasons you could come up with why you can't be here but i could give you one reason why you should because god wants you here and you will only grow where you are planted you will only grow where you are planted the last thing self-pity will hinder your change you ever have we've said it before you ever had a pity party come on and you want to invite everybody to it like you know it's it's the place to be see the one thing about self-pity is feeling sorry for yourself will often lead you down a path of a negative negativity it is counterproductive to change and it will it will keep you stagnant in your efforts when you start looking for areas they didn't call me they didn't pray for me it's been a year and nobody has even checked to see if i'm still alive we do everything we can to try to reach out to the people but listen if you want us reach out to us a lot of us it's easier for you to reach out to us and us to try to find you and track you down we love you and we want to see god do great things in your life so you know what let's put aside the south pity let's put aside the the the nonsense and you know what this is where god has you embrace the change and she said you say you know what pastor reuben we are going to support you we are going to show up we are going to do where and do whatever god tells us to do and i mean i'm going to tell you right now i walk these whole grounds and it is so beautiful it is so green there are some beautiful trees we got a nice little courtyard with a little waterfall you're going to love it your kids are going to love a little nice little playground and it's just so nice when a nice wind comes through here and it's just so surream and i just say you know what god this is where you bought it brought us and i and i know i know for a fact it didn't come easy prices were paid people were praying people had to fight for for what god was going to give us in anything that god gives you it's not going to come easy but it's worth it can i hear an amen so a few things in ending never blame your surroundings for your misfortune as you stay focused you will learn that embracing change comes easier and easier and the overall message is that we value the journey see you look at some of the older christians that been here a while they've gone through some journey they have they've weathered some storms and you look at them and you say you know what they always have the joy a person who's doing what god wants them to do the joy will always exceed them it'll always come so i go back to my text it says behold i am about to do something new even now it is coming and then he says this with the question mark it says do you not see it see tonight if you can't see what god is trying to do here god took us from a from us a part of the city in buena park and he brought us here and god is going to do something new here you know what i see i see all the people that drive through here all the houses and all the homes but we don't know what's taking place i believe that here that god is going to restore families god is going to bring some of all these skaters that come throughout here throughout the day god is going to bring a new revival here in this city like never before never before so stand with me tonight you know i want to pray for those of you who are watching at home i know it's tough some of you haven't been out of the house in many many months let alone come to a service and you're holding on by a thread i feel you man i really do and you know what i just want to encourage you and i just want you to know that you know we we pray for you and you know what if if you if you the change embrace it it's good god says look i'm going to do a new thing i'm going to bring new people here and some of you are you know what this is a time for you to say you know what i think this is the year where i'm going to step out of my shell and i'm going to embrace the change that god is doing i'm going to take a step of faith and i'm going to i'm going to start doing the ministry that god has called me to do so where you are at home stand there and i just want you to lift your hands and just pray with me tonight say father prepare me lord to receive the change that you have in store for me lord it hasn't been easy it has not been easy but i know that all things work out to good for those who love you and are called according to your will father i pray that tonight lord god that those father god who are watching us father god that you would just bless their household bless them father god encourage their hearts lord god stir up that fire within them and help them lord god to see what it is that you have in store for them father father for that one lord god who is still hasn't decided in their heart to serve you father and to surrender to you father i pray that tonight lord they would yield their heart to you if that's you here tonight and you're backslidden in heart or you know what you've just never really fully received the lord in your heart and you watched us over and over again and you enjoy the the music and the song and all the but let me tell you god has something greater in story for you i'm going to say a prayer and if if you find yourself in need tonight of a change in your heart a change in your attitude and just say you know what anthony i want to give my heart to god repeat this prayer with me say lord jesus come into my heart forgive me of all my sins and wash me in your blood i know you died on the cross and you rose from the dead and tonight lord i surrender all to you change my heart change my attitude and fill me with
