out of everyone in israel god picked a little boy think about now you read commentaries that says david was about five four five six say goliath was what nine feet imagine twice the size how can something so little defeat something so big some you may be here tonight and you feel real little because the devil's been shouting at you you can't do what i called you to do oh look at you hypocrite now you want to talk like you're all holy i know the way you were talking before you got to church and then you start listening to him instead of listening to what the word of god says you are a child of god amen you are important to him amen you are a woman of god don't worry about your past amen look what god calls you to be because he's got a future for you the bible says that david heard romans 10 17 says faith comes by what by hearing and hearing the word of god the verse gives us knowledge on how faith comes so this is telling us it's a fight between seeing and hearing the natural and the spiritual so are you what are you going to believe what do you see or what you hear reminds me of the story of peter when they were in the storm and they were stuck and when jesus came out walking on the water they didn't recognize him that's matthew 14 the story his disciples all of a sudden when they went in the storm they didn't recognize him if we want to put it into today's terms when you go through your storms and your pastor comes trying to help you now you don't recognize him as the pastor they were saying who is that man because they couldn't see them because the storm but what did peter say say the word that it is you i'll hear that and i'll walk on water we got to stop looking at what we see and start hearing and listening to what god has called us because god has called us to be victorious god has called us to do great things stop looking at your current giants and start looking at the power of god that god's placed inside of you to defeat the giant let me hurry up about a few minutes only david shared his testimony third point not his testimony some of you can't defeat your giants because all you do is lie about what you've done just oh when i was in the neighborhood i ran this i ran i'd come on man we talked to your your homies they said all they did was jump you all the time man you didn't run nothing man you know house yeah you run the washer you run the dryer you run the vacuum david shared his testimony with saul saul told him you're not able to go against this philistine and fight for him you're just a young man you're you're just little but david said your servant has been keeping his father's sheep with them when a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock i went after it amen i struck it and rescued the sheep from his mouth when it turned on me i seize it by the hair struck it and kill it your servant has killed both the lion and the bear this uncircumstant phyllis says because he has defied the armies of the living god the lord who rescued me from the power of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this philistine how many know people will try to talk you out of your destiny so i would say no you're just little and david will say no no no but let me share with you my testimony that's why you have to be real about your testimony because if you have a testifoni when it comes to the giant you're not going to defeat nothing all you want to do is test a lie revelations 12 11 says and they overcame them by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony number four david didn't try to be someone else saul dressed um in his own armor he says david put it on and then he tried to walk with him so i can't go on these these haven't been tested see god only expects us to use what we have to overcome our giants some of us look at other people we see how they got victory and we try to copy them and wonder why we can't get victory over the art giants and god is saying be who you are amen amen just be who you are and come to me and see how i'll give you what you need to defeat your giants god only expects us to use what we have to overcome our giants number five david faced the challenge with a higher purpose in verse 45-47 david said to the philistine you come to me with the sword and his spirit but i come against you in the name of the lord almighty the god of the armies of israel of whom you have defied and then he goes on and paraphrasing but then it says that he ran out towards the enemy towards the giant how many know when you've got a purpose you run towards your giant amen when you know who you are in christ amen you you're excited amen and you run to the giant with what you have because you know god is with you and if you know god is with you you know greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world when you don't have a purpose you run from your giants see israel had the superior force so why didn't they launch an offensive charge to defeat the enemy see they didn't attack the enemy because they let the enemy dictate the terms of engagement the giant was there and he was yelling and they became fearful and then the children of the the soldiers were there and they let goliath dictate the terms of engagement oh it's getting too hard or that's right i'm losing my children you're not losing your children keep praying for them keep travailing for them it's a battle taking place and yes you pray and they might get worse i mean that means the enemy's fighting but you fight harder don't let the enemy dictate amen the terms of engagement when in war you decide what's going to take place we have a powerful force don't let the enemy dictate the terms of the battle number six david finished the job he just didn't stand and shout he finished his giant he just didn't say oh i killed the giant no he actually killed the giant he didn't stop until we cut off the head of the giant in my last point seven david took those around him to a higher level verse 52 it says then the men of israel and judah surged forward with the shout and pursued the philistines the first time david picked up a sword with goliath's sword with what you have when you need the next step i'll bring it to you and when he picked up that sword we know the story of david he was a mighty warrior but he was faithful in the little some of you is all you have is your slingshot right now i was going to say rocks but some of you would take it the wrong way amen and you're wondering why you don't have a sword because you're not faithful with what you have right now took them to a whole another level how many know god is looking for individuals to take our church to a higher level and you know who that is that's you that's me do you believe it or do you believe what the giant is saying vaginas say no you're not you're not a mistake before the earth was created i thought about you amen and if he thought about us that's because we are important you are important to god just be faithful in the little [Applause] two more things before i close not points just phrases don't let the next generation fight your giants this was saul's giant but david had to fight it david had to fight it don't let your children fight your giants break that curse stand up to your giant amen don't let the next generation fight those giants because some may not be like david and will be defeated and god is saying no i called you to fight that giant as everyone stands here tonight dress to impress you look good here right now but we're gonna take a reality check are you just shouting or are you really in the battle what are you doing god's got greatness for you but you're never going to reach that greatness if you're not faithful with what you have right now when you're faithful in the little things that'll set us up for the greater things there's some here that you're dressed up but all you're doing is shouting god is saying tonight charge god is saying tonight attack god is saying tonight run to your giant i have given you victory you don't need the sword use the little things that you have in your hand to defeat that giant that's before you so i'm going to open these altars if you're here and you say you know what i need prayer man because you say i want to get back into the fight these altars are open for you and this is a good evaluation for all of us and god is saying attack some of you just keep falling back because the giant is there and you're fearful you doubt and god is saying no more doubting i called you to be victorious i called you to be that man of god i called you to be that woman of god holy spirit we pray right now move at these altars i pray right now god that these men these women my god [Music] will stop shouting and get into the fight knowing god that what they have now is enough to destroy the giant that is before them holy spirit there's some here that there's giants and they're letting their children fight let them take a stand here tonight and say no more no more am i going to run from the giant tonight god is saying i'm going to place an anointing on you and you're going to have a battle cry and you're going to run to your giant and not only are you going to knock it down you're going to cut the head off holy spirit i pray right now those that are at these altars lift up your hand and as our worship team ministers in song we're gonna go pray for you hallelujah i'll try so hard to see it took me so long [Music] to carry your victory [Music] you take the broken and raise
