Japanese 7/11 Lunch Swap - with Abroad in Japan

hello everybody welcome to togo creative play i'm your host emma and today i'm here with uh chris abroad in japan a chris abroad in japan well we haven't had lunch yet so i'm a little bit hungry so i was thinking we could go to 7-eleven it's been about 2 000 yen each get the meals that we'd usually like to eat and then we can swap swap try each other's favorite meals well i suppose you and i are very different diets different preferences towards food i think so it would be quite interesting to see if you can handle what i normally have oh god chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken that's not like too many assumptions okay it might well be yeah i'm up for this i'm very hungry i haven't had much to eat today so i'm gonna eat whatever you throw my way okay so there's some chicken some fried stuff i'm good but i'll be interested we get for 2000 yen yeah i think that's quite a lot to spend at 7 11. so you can get a lot of bang for your buck in 2000 anyway let's go all right let's eat things hey okay how much did you spend way less than two thousand i spent two thousand one hundred something a little bit over budget so you've got a premium lunch here yeah i did one thousand two hundred and twenty five so uh is that it you're going to have a very is there going to be enough feeding how big it is anyway all right let's switch bags all right there's your lunch yeah there's my lunch i mean this is not just food this is an experience eating i could be it's time this is just food i'm gonna tell you now i kind of looked at it from a kind of comprehensive dining experience right you're on the go you're in tokyo it's not just food there's more to it as you'll find out oh it's a thing that's wrapped up it's usually going to be good because it's usually from the fried counter so right off the bat oh i think i know what this is oh it's a roll how do i bring it is japanese for spring roll and it literally means spring roll very good it's like fried chicken that's kind of really salty crispy batter like salt chicken salted chicken salt chicken salt chicken look at all the salts on it that is an assault on the senses oh smart boy oh my god wow i've never had this before what do you think it's actually pretty good what's in it a bunch of different stuff mushroom mm-hmm like vegetables within a bit of meat it's very oily i can only have one it's basically just some oil wrapped in batter but that's a good thing not a healthy thing but a good thing have you had this specific one before no banana chicken is way better this is actually quite dry sadly i didn't have any chicken it was just salt and chicken well done after a great start this is really really good why haven't i never had this before i've been looking at eight years eight years how do monkey really good if you ever come here the um pizza man i've had pizza mom i used to have that for breakfast every day when i was a teacher that's so good i like drive to work get a pizza mum it's like a bread filled with like tomato and cheese and then i'll get like a nice coffee then i'll be ready to go that's so good i'm so happy i'm actually really happy that you like it this is life-changing they introduced you to something that feels cool i've lost a lot of weight um i've lost like four kilograms because i've been locked in doors during this virus thing but now i've discovered this i'm gonna undo all that good work but it's gonna be worth it all right next there we go all right i got another hot thing this is a cheesy ham and cheese tortilla burrito thing this is like the thing i get the most at 711 and it's yes just a burrito filled with cheese and ham and they heat it up in a microwave and the problem is it gets really soggy if you don't eat it quickly and it's been in that bag for about 20 minutes this is gonna be a lump of soggy burrito but it'll probably still be quite good okay and i've eaten this like more than anything probably in japan ever i have had this once before but that time it was also a soggy lump of cheese show the camera look at that cheese and hamburrito it doesn't look great chris but it tastes great and that's all that matters it was fresh 25 minutes ago it's been a while is it good it's still enjoyable right even though it's it's lukewarm see the cheese is not well i got it's actually pretty good you bought me a sandwich three sandwiches to be precise so the way that i set up my bag is i thought it was like if i go on a shinkansen or if i'm traveling this is stuff that i would usually get so i would usually just get a mixed sandwich just to have on the shinkansen just right so i used to get sandwiches from 7-eleven but just too messy but look at it there's a sense that if you pull that back it'll just explode everywhere whereas with the burrito you know what you're getting it's nice and contained look at that you've had one bite and look how contained it is let's peel it back there you go you got it why is there no crust on this the amazing japanese of the sandwiches snow crusts oh it's really good it's not as simple as burrito though is it is this is very simple but yeah so that pack has the egg and then the the ham and cheese one and then there's a tuna all right next all right i want to wash it down with a drink yes oh oh i love that that's my favorite oh and you got kind of a similar little lemony a cece lemon a big cece lemon what have i got like a tiny one you look like a big cc lemon i spent big on you you spent no i don't like having a big drink that's my coffee right that's my energy right there i just go whoa so you got this from like the medicine yeah yeah yeah i've drink full of vitamin c i've never had this before i love it but i do love cc lemon that's why i got you that because that is something i do drink a lot yeah vitamin c let's fight off the perils of the crown of ice or sour it's genuinely way sweeter lemon juice that's been carbonated and put in a bowl yeah that wakes me up dude actually hurting my tongue yeah it's so intense i love it though oh i don't know if i drink this it's gonna set my stomach on fire it tastes like battery acid oh it's really sour yeah you don't have to finish it oh god this is very sweet it's like you know like a like a lemonade and here's the best bit of cc lemon right if you look on the front here it says 48 lemons worth of vitamin c 48 lemons in here think about that that's a scary amount of lemons that's 48 lemons all right so we've had sandwiches we've had burritos and drinks more food all right i know what i've done it's not food chris that's supposed to be after food yeah i told you this was a dining experience right let's bring that in so after having a bit of food you might be a bit sweaty particularly if you've burnt your mouth out drinking this stuff and so on a nice sunny day what better way to finish a meal than with a face wipe a nice cool minty place see isn't it doesn't it feel nice yes it's very cooling yeah see it's an experience it's not just food it's a lunchtime dining experience wow and what have i got i've never had this actually this is salted corn snacks and you have to tell me what it is it's just layers of corn and the crunch is very satisfying i can't open them either that's the thing with japanese chips you can't open them like that there we go great strength i don't like um like cereals what fireworks display in my mouth asmr you gotta get that okay give me one they're pretty good though asmr emma they're pretty good they're low calories 470 calories in this bag that's like an entire lunch in a bag they're pretty good though i think they'll be quite good if you're watching a film actually no they're driving everyone i wouldn't hear the films yeah i would buy these again oh i'm glad i'm glad i'm putting this on the spring roll i'm liking your lunch no i'm so happy the best compliment you've ever received yeah i know i love your lunches all right do you want to actually open actual food yeah does this count as food yeah of course it does that is the food yes 10 second charge oh so you're supposed to drink this in 10 seconds no in 10 seconds of having this it's supposed to give you an energy base i use that to like power myself across journey across japan cycling climbing mount fuji i took like 10 packs of those make dr jelly proud what's that so you can stop the jelly you can drink battery acid but you can't have a nice great flavored energy dude it's been at least 10 seconds since your first sip yeah it has wow i'm just so excited to be here and i was no i'm not the same i'm so sorry that's a lie the marketing is alive all right oh what we've got under here a squished rice ball yeah it's supposed to look like oh right oh i've never had this there's omelette chicken ketchup oh my god mini omurica well you've had some home runs already today so i'm optimistic it looks like someone cut their thing while they were putting it together look how red and bloody and all right look at that is that cheese no it's an omelette omelet rice it's a little egg disc egg disc egg disc i'm going to give it six out of ten six the flavors aren't bad because i love it only rice it but i needs to be like hot yeah that's the only criticism like if it was warm i think it'd actually be really nice worried about the egg though the egg looks a bit fake you know a lot of the comedians store eggs our food you look at like a carbonara and they've got like a half chopped egg on it on the top that is a fake egg that's been made to look like an egg they said it's illegal to have like real eggs in convenience stores on ready mills for extended periods of time because they go bad so it's like a fake material that's edible and looks and tastes like egg that isn't egg i'm gonna google that yeah who is editing this video bring it up on screen now to prove that i'm not mental have it here yeah so that might not be like that might just be it's i'm going for the next one it's just straight string cheese i haven't had a string cheese since i was in primary school they're pretty good and they're healthy how do you do it stringy mozzarella cheese wow you don't like it unbelievable have i got you anything you've enjoyed so far i like the sushi hey one out of four not bad oh you're a daily dairy yeah whoops all right um i think we're in dessert phase now um we've had quite a lot of items so far i'm so happy you love this stuff well i'm not special about the next beer with the purim there's some sort of cool trickery that you can do with it i've never done this myself i know you can do it but i've never done it right so you tip it upside down there we go and then there's a little tab and then the suction beautiful all right well you're having your delicious dessert what have i got a lump of cake what's this here financier sort of dessert for bankers it's like a little buttery cake well i'll give you the benefit of the doubt i'm not really into these sort of cakes because i'm a bit dry and put a spoon of pudding on it no no it's like no no it's so great it's not bad but it's a bit dry i wouldn't buy it again usually i'm like kind of limited for my dessert i have a dairy allergy but i can eat butter for some reason um no but i can eat those i'm poisoning you today with my choices cheese and dairy i must say that i was quite critical of it because it's quite dry i'm actually starting to like you know buttery sweet taste is rather addictive in a worrying way i approve yay surprisingly i think this is very melted do you like i do like coolish how would you describe polish food ice cream in a bag it has ice cream in the bag but it's nice a hot summer's day you can't go wrong with kool-aid what have i got what have you got well i got you uh relatively unhealthy option in fact the whole lunch i got you is it's just dreadful really it's a calorific cholesterol inducing nightmare whereas you've got me some healthy items such as this pineapple the thing is my tongue because of this oh this battery acid drink my tongue is still burning for like 20 minutes here we film that and so now this is going to be like the final end of my tongue um see heartburn really actually my tongue what is wrong with you this is you're an unhealthy man dude my tongue i must have cut my tongue on something and then that made it worse now it's quite good though i've had a real range of things so we've had spring rolls sandwiches almood rice more things crisps pineapples so earlier on i said this meal this lunch was an experience yeah and i've had face wipes you've had lemon you've had jelly uh but there's one last piece of the lunch puzzle to be found oh dementia wild and cool because after a nice meal when a bit of a face wipe you want to have a nice minty fresh breath yeah especially after all that smoked cheese these are so strong have a bottle of that in some mints you'll die let your tongue that's like coconut and you've kind of destroyed your image of healthy healthy lunch by getting coca-cola orange vanilla i wouldn't normally get that but i really wanted to try it well you're not going to try it with mine but i can tell you about it damn it i stopped drinking coke years ago i just feel really guilty when i drink it i can drink it if you if you feel uncomfortable are you taking one for the team oh you're being brave it's the rules of tc play i'm unable to drink out of a bottle 220 calories in this one bottle it tastes like i've had a tangerine and a little bit of coolish and then wash that down with coke just have a normal coke with some kiwish tangerine that's what that tastes like do the rest of this but i must say of all the things i've tried today that's spring roll that was a game changer oh i'm so happy that was worth coming all the way to tokyo for coming away from sendai for this video and now it's worth it but hopefully you've seen what you can get the 2000 yen everything in that bag 2000 yen everything in this bag was a thousand yen which is actually really good value wasn't able to finish it all to be honest you can get a lot of good food convenience store and when i was doing journey across japan well didn't we did we eat like convenience store quite a lot all the time because you're cycling around japan and that's the only thing there is yeah do you have a preference between the 7-eleven lawsons and family mart i like 7-eleven i find 7-eleven is the best everything and their coffee is really good yeah coffee family mart does the best fried food i mean i always rave about family mart chicken my entire brand has been built off me raving about family mart chicken but the fried food counts with family mart is the best but yeah 7-eleven family mark
