INCREDIBLE Abandoned Château Untouched With EVERYTHING LEFT BEHIND

baskin in the hot southern countryside of france an imposing golden castle stands tall above the rolling green hills not only steeped in history it holds secrets that set it apart from the rest for over 900 years the same family has held this land they first constructed here in 1133 and upon these original foundations was this grand chateau built in 1740 you are greeted by a vast marble entrance hall with doorways leading off in every direction as we look up we can still see its hunting heritage trophies from centuries of shooting parties paired down from the walls this was a popular hunting lodge for the rich due to its location and vast size after the hunt the guests would be invited to the grand dining hall for a feast the 18th century dining table remains here to this day along with some unusual decorations there would have often been magnificent parties and events the family enjoyed entertaining friends which leads us to the 18th century theater decorated in 1740s style complete with a golden sun this is one of the only chateaus with this unique feature as we move through the dimly lit rooms you begin to smell the library before you find it home to many thousands of antique books collected over its 280 years a total of 25 bedrooms and six bathrooms are spread across as five stories each one decorated in a unique style although one stands out from the rest this exquisite 1800s wallpaper was specially created for this chamber this one is so unique as it was once showcased at new york's museum of art before being returned here all of the paintings seen throughout were also specially commissioned to depict life at the chateau we venture up into the top levels of the house and into the attic where we find the medicine room and an office with more clues about the previous owner's life down beneath the castle we move through subterranean passages leading to lofty vaulted rooms still filled with resources join us as we step inside and unravel all of its secrets [Music] so what's going on everyone and welcome back to the channel today we've got a treat for you this is an incredible abandoned chateau and this place was owned by nobles it's owned by nobles military men to super rich millionaires pass through generation after generation and i'm super excited to show you guys all about this because the architecture as you can see behind us is phenomenal but it's fully furnished as well it's a pretty daunting place to film as well because what's its nickname a thousand chambers chateau a thousand chambers which means a thousand bedrooms the most rooms we've ever had to film yeah so we're gonna be here for days oh the taxidermy just look at this room this is gotta be one of the most grandest shadows we've ever been to so we've got a deer this place it's incredible the size of it compared to you makes you feel tiny being in here it does this place is like a museum it really is so we're gonna do this side first oh my god it's a wine room it smells so alcoholic oh it feels fermented it's like it smells like bleach wine no no but the hairdressers yeah wow i think we should get out yeah that's actually a really really strong smell [Music] jesus christ oh my gosh a theater it looks like beautiful stage come on get up on there oh yeah is it just backstage yeah this is so let's even roll the air curtain up and down and stuff i think that is this chateau it is because there's that behind it as well it is yeah beautiful what a room this room itself is so beautiful there's obviously artwork here let me just do this back side first that leads back that way okay so do these backwards and then we'll do the other side squeaky floor he's backstage so apparently this place actually has a thousand bedrooms well that's true or not that's the nickname for this place we might be here for a while wow office office room oh yeah look at this this place is unbelievable doorways out i wonder if this is one of the owners or not these probably well yeah decorating the whole room like these at one point smells so old and musty the fireplace this would be cozy to work in looks like the french revolution this man yeah it's so hot today so it's 40 degrees today it's actually weather warning telling us not to go out but we had to come here we're out right now to be honest in the abandoned buildings it's cooler so it's all good for us look at these so old cool i need 55 bucks oh my god let's throw his flimsy cigarettes let's go to fill it with tobacco put a filter in i think it's all different colored inks no way i like this from a lot it's lovely in there really nice into the next room then which looks like the library oh wow crazies are it's huge like it even goes around the corner you should start at the back of me this is like a this could be a public library yeah so many books in here these will be the first editions as well definitely first edition books yeah but there's some special ones all the way to the roof that's incredible it's crazy that there's some people have this is their house you know yes in the same one look at these bugs look at the size stinks of books in it in there it does i like it though there's wooden cases wooden box i don't think you're actually supposed to like touch the really old ones or open any of them up look at those paper ones this is phenomenal this is the games table just to take a billion stables there's no like lip on it though is that no nothing done i think this is gotta be one of the most incredible places we've come across and maybe we'll ever come across the floor is so squeaky on the desk actually um fossilized it's not even a shell feeler it's like calcified oh yeah feel how heavy it is oh yeah it's like crystallized or something that's for cleaning the shoes hey look i wonder if he's an architect yeah architecture that is of here so we have to blur the names and stuff insane hey look there's the ladder i seen better isn't it this is amazing it really is i wonder when what year they started to fill this library up it's probably down generations and generations so yeah added to the collection but they probably filled it pretty fast i guess you wouldn't build a library like this and i said the books to fill it where did you get them all from looking back at it from this angle was amazing as well that light is beautiful reminds me of a ship's wheel but yeah it's almost like an indian sort of stuff yeah i love the ceiling too wow i can't go for this room [Music] it's dusty you hey look this is somebody who's actually writing such a shame you can't read it i don't know what that is what's in that artwork i don't really want to touch anything i think it is all artwork though yeah look at all the papers it's really old paperback wow that is the coolest library ever [Music] i think you could stay in here all day really can you spend hours and hours in here looking through these books but we do have a thousand chambers to check okay let's go back this way just illustrations everywhere this is backstage of course we've done a full loop of this side this is the office and library area very common um pissed out there look at this such a castle isn't it there's a real castle i didn't know chateau meant like a cross between a mansion in a castle wow this is such a crazy place i can't believe it's abandoned is i'm not that's sure it almost looks like it's that titanium is it titanium yeah your granddad has some didn't they it's got some sort of poisonous chemical but it's a good polite no and they make a figure oh my gosh a bedroom the first chamber it's like the main opinion look at that that's beautiful look at the artwork what are they doing well it's a bees look at this place is really unbelievable i love wooden rooms um put the glass on there cupboard looks like a guy who's getting the beat down the sun back look at it this way is phenomenal let's go back oh dear beautiful okay this way oh a little bedroom there's two changes yeah knocks i feel like we're living in a kind of more than a age though do you think yeah because there's like more than like cup of boxes stuff that's a lovely little bed look so they've been easier we should do actually a sticker where we go we so should rooms on the rooms i was here on my own i'll be lost for years oh wow it reminds me of the bed at the um first yes such a similar design this is obviously a thing to have stairs above i would love that wow i just can't even imagine the people that would have lived here yeah big bed actually french flag a lot of those look at that um sweeps oh yeah oh that's the biggest spider on it what's that cool some parts are really decaying there's not a dump in here looks behind the bed that's where the the secret door goes too yeah like this under the stairs that lovely lamp shade that's enough oh it's trendy really isn't it oh look is that a pen no no no no yeah i think it's time to mount the truck up there what is the purpose of these though i don't know what they he really used it for it smells okay back out into the room [Music] what's in these doors then they're not military aren't they but it looks against the family yes i think that's probably the case with a lot of these i think it isn't like most of the ones we go to it seems like they're going for like military people mm-hmm all right on to the next shop 998 chambers i'll head back to the main staircase and do the opposite side of the mansion okay come back into the lobby there's the basement door but we'll do that last this room is just amazing so i've lost count of the bedrooms already if someone is watching right now keep count of all the bedrooms it's lovely cabinet 1984. not too old wow the architecture in here is phenomenal when you think of a french chateau this is what you think of it really is i just can't believe the place like this could be left behind it's such a waste i think it won't be long until it falls into disrepair probably would have had parties in here yeah i think they would have had fear as that mm-hmm so they would have been in the fear and then after they would have probably come through and chilled out in here or whatever oh a life yeah look at this fire please dark marble oh oh spider sam why did i touch it no no oh my god i almost did that's pretty bad wow so echoing makes you feel so small it's painted gold another bedroom we haven't even made it upstairs yet and we've already done like four bedrooms but he's going off his ladder to get her an apple lovely lovely beds in this business yeah some nice beds i've seen an abandoned build i think i suppose i've seen anywhere yeah not even just an abandoned building so nice i'd love to sleep in this poop yeah is we've got a lot of these the spectacle demand oh somebody's baby face [Music] i seized back into the hall maybe the big things have been taken i can't even imagine taking i think it looks like i'm out start it was toughest oh yeah pinned from top to bottom i wonder what they were like hey look at this we should translate this is it like a diploma or something maybe do you think we have connection here that is no so we'll put something on the screen now interesting oh yeah that's another way upstairs yeah it's like servant's quarters yeah we'll come round so nice they'd be able to walk straight out into the gardens too straight out into the pool this room is that a hey look there's a drone shot of the yeah helicopter that's beautiful hey look the names they're they're in each one you know i look at that hold the curtains back oh is that the egg like what no it's just cushioned for the door it's just been ripped off next room like maybe a children's room lovely bed this must have been a massive family a lot of friends living in here like not even just close relatives anyone who's kind of relate to the bloodline yeah look at that open open little dog be strange for the children who grew up here and then maybe moved into more like regular sized houses i don't think they did where are they they are a hell of a lot of money and that's they spent another wedding very long time ago what a lovely bed i think that's maybe for a child to play with wow still got a lot of the paintings up in this one wow next room look no look at the dates 1606. that is amazing that can't be right now that's rare can be right up 1533 who's the smallest of all look this is everard throughout his whole life this is the day 78 yeah 30th of september 57. look that's amazing that they started it here how tall did he grow everywhere i'd have read everyone it stops oh yeah overall 1929. no so he grew that much i love that yeah just let's go to this next room surprise another bedroom welcome to the mansion of a thousand bedrooms lovely pink one this is nice very nice i love the style of furniture on the front it's got it just right over here [Music] boxes wallpaper cigarettes they took that from a hotel i bought it i guess how weird is it metal lined mhm oh a little sink yes [Music] a whole way so first it's weird padded door it smells alcoholic again massive window secret bedroom behind a padded door both sides is padded bizarre oh my gosh what's happened to this room why is it so much more decayed it's strange and that is just gross what's happened that's one of the biggest cobblers i've ever seen is that man that black stuff where like with the cobwebs dirt and dust i just don't know what's up no no the other rooms are like this oh my goodness i know it's burned this is an older room really old room strange that it has that padded door and then it's like it's like it's been left abandoned longer than the rest chamber ponte spider little sink room what a weird contrast creepy room bathroom oh my gosh all the stuff fake photos still hanging on stuff steps up to the toilet yeah see this place is going to be wasted that's really damp surely that's going to be coming in from upstairs yeah there's a little note on here it says thank you at the end it's the toilet paper but stranger there would be a note on it look at that client look at the cobwebs around here yeah they've just made a homeowner remember found them inspired keep on running that's where we came from once it's covered here yeah but now this is actually certain i'm just call this another padded door see this is the um yeah it goes onto the basement all right oh wow this is actually the seventh staircase if you come here we come down here later but we've got the main staircase look at all the um alarms all the different rooms that's so cool look at this staircase as well all wooden but we'll come back down here got a few more rooms to check on this side so i'm gonna head back to the main corridor and check them so this goes to the lobby right that i think this goes to the dining hall oh okay yeah so we have to get around servants out with the potted dogs this is where we peeked through to earlier this place honestly is like a maze oh it even goes that way [Music] it's quite overwhelming actually that's that other locked door so this was just a storeroom that's outside that's locked [Music] that must be outside too there's another way up but we'll go back to the main stairs some old heaters look at that it's a very small hallway it's a floor buffer oh yeah there's doodles all over this too let's get back into the main lobby that's the back bottom part and all of the left side done into this partner whoa no it's a nice dining room yeah they got like dining room photos penguins yeah glasses oh yeah religious candles this whole thing is marble this would have kept the whole room warm that's really nice wow paintings are missing but there would have been paintings everywhere maybe to the servants part is it to that other hall when the door's a lot maybe beautiful look at the lights the lights off our legs there was such a obsession with this tuxedo in france i guess if we went to some mansions big luncheons in england they might be the same i don't know little museums wow that's really cool surprisingly that's the sad thing about this place it's not quite yet like gone but it will and all of this will be wasted it's almost too far gone for a repair like someone to afford to do it yeah and take a moment to sort huge velvet cupboard there's just so many doorways oh he's got a big flange oh yeah no way so the basement's going to be a big kitchen yeah hey look you could even speak into it i think there's a kitchen just through that see what's back here then little kitchen first open window this whole place is so dark you need to be careful yeah all the glasses for a minute just get out of the view of this one this is definitely more modern they're way more modern see this 2020 me so abandoned from then people exploring it so maybe squatters have been in there yeah what the hell this next one oh yeah oh yeah included before they looked in english look at this dress it's like a tiny little living room oh weird little room just completely out of place this is a regular size because whoa this is insane i think it's real if anyone knows what they're looking at guys yeah i think it's a man cave because if you look there's planes everywhere there's model cars in places and look even the on the lampshade it's planes wow look at those that's so cool what are those as well they're like competition badges maybe they were a pilot every year oh my god goes all the way back to 1962. no way and behind the door yeah everywhere we'll translate this society's supportive encouragement the same lens is the same one of them a weird little room this is that's a big log for the fire yeah well you know what happens when you put two two bit big logs on the fire all these keys it was the key to every room i think this was like servants like top servants chill room maybe you wouldn't want to be the keeper of these keys look how old they all looked like ancient keys religious things hey like an aerial shot yeah i think they were a pilot definitely they might have been the pilot that took the photo of the house as well maybe and model houses look a crafter oh look at that freakish person on the wall should see what's through the next uh next door well it's a blown up version of that aerial shot and this is back to the lobby now look there's more here as well it's obviously a pilot that's really cool oh look another one goes all the way down the stairs see when we came up i didn't even realize when i was i'm eating the pope time to head up he says [Music] it's beautiful these days solid as well let's check this one first it's a working workshop that's pretty cool we used to fix all this stuff in the house for them very cool like a good abandoned workshop yeah that's cool all right like the scent the shelf is held up by a stick actually quite close to the tongue i love how they built this oh my gosh it goes up again i'll do this level first wow those doors those wow i think that's one of the nicest panda bedrooms i've ever seen in my life it's the blue room just look at this wallpaper it's a fabric it's like that much is this yeah and it's the same everything matches seats tablecloths beds everything has been made for this room everything's blue as well it's just pristine lovely beds oh yeah we should decorate our room just to redecorate our whole tiny little house as a french chateau i wonder if they actually used to close the curtains at night i don't think i would especially even the dust is blue everything so they said to the kid what's your favorite color and he said blue okay are you having a blue room wow any clothes i wonder i think that only that one cabinet has had clothes so far [Music] shed sort of bathroom wash space space for candles [Applause] wow what a strange wonky room yeah so if i hang in your coupe it's trippy because the carpet is wonky and the wools are monkey it's nice with the windows going through oh damn a bedroom with natural light very similar to the bedroom that's directly underneath wow this floor is so old it's beautiful it is this is lovely red room [Music] beautiful look i love the trim in here it's paisley oh a little bathroom wow what a lovely mosaic tile did you see that was locked yes spell off actually the door let me go through oh i see oh because there's quite a lot more to it look yeah you can get to it from the staircase all right oh that heat coming in i've never been in such hot heat is this yeah so aged wow a little children's room the wood is so aged in there that's such a little bed you look bad for a little person what decay dye is weird let's see how these to keep the cold out mhm it's a different wallpaper in every part yeah ah the lobby it's awesome this looking part there insane beautiful and see the taxidermy much closer up there this part's so nice it's very cool different type of staircase there there's just so many routes to take of old nice ones same again oh that's yeah one day you did all this artwork it looks like all done by the same person yeah and it's actually signed there if anyone recognizes that let us know 1878 these were painted no way look this one's signed also 1788. i'm so happy they've lasted but i wish somebody would come in here and save them wow a lovely little set lovely glassware you know look there's always these and french rings except to keep something hot your head can you sleep they all have a cot as well i think real babies are in those i guess so i think it's i think it's to sleep in well maybe just to move it around i don't know yeah i wonder if anyone can tell us why they have all these extra little doorways things would have been moved around from the bed actually the bed would have always been there actually yeah even that is red so nice close the curtains wow all right let's see what else we can find onwards it's taking that taken out of me this place especially i've never filmed a mansion this size before no i mean especially in this heap it's like somebody personalized this room with different artwork lovely pot screw oh strange and all that i really can't believe this place massive building of bedrooms i guess what else would you have isn't it yeah the dining room you got a theater yeah and then what it's just bedrooms then you have a secret little doll it goes right through it look at this orange that is a nice one two beds lovely chandeliers in every room and they're all different i just having to make new curtains for these they're absolutely huge i yeah but they traveled the world yeah and hey there's stairs in there but i'm hoping we can get to the other parts and go upstairs again yeah wow you're hard work living here getting around you need an electric scooter this is a weird bit part really i don't know what they used it for how crazy that's all still here and not broken spearhead teacups i don't know if this was always in here it kind of looks like it yeah i think so man there's probably a lot more yeah hey look that's better to spend some water out of it it might have been like a sort of museum area yeah i think so yeah look it's newspaper tiny writing on it locked wow these are all so different all beautiful everyone's nice now i think how long each one of these would have taken and how many the artist had to do it's unbelievable really a lovely little bed set looks like a miniature oven too you're up above the bed shall we have a little look oh it's so decade oh my gosh what have left those poos yeah oh maybe yeah just across in here smelly oh wow so there's no synthetic yeah really nice to catch the water oh yeah it's wet now when it's hot it's like a big pile of dish another secret room behind the bed oh yeah see they have they must have just had their clothes but yeah yeah this is like their dressing room is just unbelievable you're never going to get to the end of this place i've never been done this side i've never seen i've never known a place like this every room is so different every one i go into i think oh actually yeah like this one more i think my favorite is the blue room so far yeah me too yeah one of the two yellow beds it's tied between them sorry yeah that's the one i meant the yellow beds with the whole walls painted i love that wallpaper though this place is the next level it really is it's a place for them to pray look how worn out that is it's an old pain in that isn't it that's an english man it's only just there still everything matches as much as the wallpaper too whole alex filled with antiques no way oh look at that oh my god that one's alive what at the back oh my goodness that's bad it's a big spider it's like a thousand butts upstairs really herbs or something this is where they do the iron in hey so we were wondering what these were the other day like they obviously something to do with iron and stuff yeah maybe maybe you put it on there to iron go down to the basement okay quarters 16. do the main stairs go up to this no no no i think there's another set of servant stairs it goes up again even above this floor so i mean there's so many bats up here than me look you can see them yeah i don't even want to go down there they're flying so low this way first it's huge it's locked of course hot up here man whoa okay don't worry look another they're on the though they've all moved in whoa look at this it's like the basement of a museum look at all their stuff they just had so much [Music] no it's really not we'll never forget this place chests and stuff just tons of it pottery more stuff than they had space for tools and stuff what's all this paper wow oh looks plain car it really is hot hey i wonder when that new space is from big one let's go back around 1939 wow huge hit look how big it is up here even on the third floor wow look at that oh you're gonna love this room dress no way medicine room how did this piece could get it's a black room there's all the other windows well yeah so you can't have natural light in here oh that's the coolest room ever something in here is leaked this is fragile acid there's poster on the back something they obviously went to the film i think ah i will never forget seeing this it's the coolest old collection of chemicals and medicines i've ever seen i could just take photos and clips of that forever oh yeah it's like a breeding ground for animals up there in there yeah it is where's the hay everywhere it's paper storage i think at one point yeah magazines and stuff like a raw sort of castle right up there yeah it is this place is just mama all these maps everywhere yeah yeah wow no way wow this is like a workshop and i mean um i study yeah really oh look on the back of the door too family tree maybe no crests of some sort huh ships 19 somebody's whole life so many years ago he's all his work hmm i can see 1989 he's obviously part of some sort of society or that's maybe where he trained and learned stuff 1909. wow there's a lot of those around a group of men who look egyptian books more maps 1684 hey help me unfold this because he's a pilot look at all those things klm swiss air oh yeah yeah he's a pilot that's why there's all the aerial shots as well yeah how cool there they all are you help me unfold this a little bit just a little bit all right hey it looks like that artwork because in that room downstairs yeah that is really cool 1914 music 108 years ago someone was sat in this room drawing that this is beautiful fossil coral look at that wow a huge chunk of hematite no way we're gonna focus on that what's that some wood carving knows [Music] he's got like like the fish scale car site no it's angel wing cars actually oh yeah what collection some of it's gone amber no okay is it yeah wow isn't it oh look at these there's so much interesting stuff in here 1908-1909 institution st joseph what's up sounds like a bug so maybe do you think you flew for all i mean it's like these maybe there's drain pipes wow honestly this is just such a another room another bedroom they're nice you're not gonna guess this oh another bedroom yeah these are much less ornate yes definitely mm-hmm look at that big pot oh this looks dodgy oh yeah hey look at this it's like a miniature puppet show opera this is like a joke isn't it guys if whoever if anyone's still keeping count fair play to you because i would not be able to come it's like a man's room look at all these old coats and stuff yeah i wonder how many servants they have a lot this floor feels absolutely terrible yeah it does it's completely in the dip what are these chimneys things but more of the empty cigarettes why would they do that let me put her in tobacco this place is unbelievable my god this stone floor goes through me it's just gonna smash through every level on it really these a big block so you can see him there how big they are so lovely it would still be amazing to live here even as a servant is like i'd live here bit cooler hold on yeah i'm not going to say it again no one really say no i'm going to say a blabber blepham [Music] end of the line i don't know i wonder what's wrong yes the poop deck oh i feel like we're stuck in some sort of time warp bedrooms help us now we were making jokes about how we were going to be in here forever filming it feels like we really are bees wasps on the window so i think there's a few in there yeah look at that three steps up to the toilet i'd like to use that mm-hmm careful when you're man you're gonna stand with my wasps yeah let's go oh yeah so i think it's time to head downstairs to where the servant's bells are and there's a door there and then it's the basement damn so i just realized you've actually got go upstairs again it's like a urbex's dream this place it's like unreliable explore i feel so privileged to be able to explore abandoned building like this it is amazing i mean it would help if we weren't so hot and tired yeah it's 40 degrees right now mm-hmm but um it is amazing making our way back to the stairs ah this place oh really yeah third floor that was impressive really impressive do you got these or those at least at the same place you went that way didn't we yeah yeah yeah you're gonna wait there oh i could just feel the temperature getting hotter and hotter ah the attic nothing here i don't see the other stairs though so they must lead to something else what's up those other stairs lead somewhere else all right separate space up there oh go on then have a quick look so here we go i mean if this door's locked then i feel sorry for the servants you know this is crazy though they would have had a long way to run around that's actually their names of each play oh it's basement time [Music] there you go man yeah big door oh that's cool so so we find a massive underground grower what's in there it's locked the hell is that then let's do the water tank i it's crazy how much basements keep my feet out mm-hmm one it's wine time yeah i think that was the most um crazy filming we've ever done oh my god the tunnel goes in deeper that's a wine cellar hey look at that's cold storage hey that would be useful somewhere yes insane i've never seen cold storage at all before [Applause] no it's just a um prison yeah it's just a room it's nice and cool down there oh yeah oh here is the one damn yeah the pool saw is locked up should we go in wow that's a massive call that's a lot guys drop down in the comments if you've ever seen anything like this before let me get in it just to show you [Applause] and how long they would if they carried a living hour long that cold had blasted them seems overkill and me but if it might have been gone by now they're quite far underground well far on the ground here good 10 or 15 feet maybe i'm not sure hello there's some of the bottles hey look these are full oh yeah looks like cider isn't that yeah okay maybe orange juice or apple juice a great sense of accomplishment after exploring that whole childhood yeah two more wine wow that looks beautiful the light coming in it's massive down here damn this is a cool wine cellar i don't think it tops that one in portugal all that time but very close oh my gosh look at it so we're bottles in there damn that's insane evian loads of veggies old school got wasted damn i'll drink that right now all right turn the hell apart up here it's got that real cave smell that might be the cool shoot once upon a time no way why pretty crazy i think sometimes man i can't see him 1991 yeah too old five years younger than us five years older than us yeah yeah it's just like cigars cigars loads this is just so this is just one house with all this stuff all these rooms that i'm building this place and then filling it this is a massive stuff i think you could never move out you could never move in i think how much of a cost to pay someone to come and clear this this will just be here forever it really it's crazy that really isn't it like it will decay it's like for more and more but it will just be here forever like five years imagine coming back in like 30 years maybe we can imagine that stay tuned guys [Music] no way we just completed the mission bottom of the stairs of the man cave it's actually this kitchen that we spotted on our way out and we missed this damn big oven big table look at all the booze apart from that everything's gone but look at that over here so we've actually been here for five hours so guys that is the end of this video damn that was hard work the biggest location probably the best location we've ever filmed yes 100 i think we kind of worked out who lived in this house military men nobles someone was a pilot pilot lots of
