I Tried Japan's Most INSANE Noodle Challenge

any sane person would stop now genuinely hey guys welcome to morioka city about two hours north of tokyo home to the greatest food challenge in all of japan the wank sorba noodle challenge today to join me as we embark on this nightmarish meal is the greatest thing to come out of wales since tom jones is of course sea dog conor va thank you for having me chris here again why is it that every time i see you the weather is just awful you bring it to me you bring the welsh weather with you connor and i gotta ask did you did you say the name correctly is it is it my mum would have some concerns if i told her what i was eating tonight dear idea morioka is famous for three noodle dishes they've got neyman which is like this cold noodle dish they've got jar jar men which is almost like a spaghetti bolognese and then they've got wanker sorbet and one silver one called literally means let's be careful here a small bowl a small little bowl okay and silver is of course sober buckwheat noodles and for this challenge you have to eat as many bowls of soba as possible in a short space of time i'm pretty good at eating challenges i think yeah i think so well it's said that uh a real man should be able to eat over a hundred bottles of wanka silver there's two things you've got to do for this one you've got to beat me if you don't beat me you will get bullied like the next 50 years so a normal day in my life normal day but the real thing you're playing for is to get 100 bowls because if you eat 100 bowls of soba noodles a good friend of mine right he recently got me access to the greatest hotel room in all of tokyo and i've got access to go in and film and stay the night and if you get over 100 bowls you're going to come with me and get the five-star hotel experience you crave and think you deserve no way i know how much is the room it's like six thousand dollars six thousand dollars never you would never guard your way to give that that luxury to me it's gonna happen all right if you get a hundred bowls i mean if you fail all right okay i'm taking joey the anime band instead and i'm not even joking i'm deadly serious all right let's do it let's do wacky weekend let's die [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's said that the origins of the wanker saw the noodle challenge date back hundreds of years when a powerful lord visiting the region was offered a small bowl of the local sober noodles he enjoyed it so much that he kept asking for more and thus the challenge was born currently the all-time record stands at a ridiculous 570 bowls held by a local woman living in the city of morioka though my own personal record stands at just a pitiful 118 bowls when i went head to head with my arch nemesis ryotaro five years ago tragically he beat me by just three bowls and it's a record that i hope to crush going head-to-head with connor today and my voice is getting gruffly and serious because i mean business all right so i i gotta say uh i'm not hungry you're not hungry oh god did you eat anything today a little sandwich i had a lasagna three hours ago for lunch you've got cement in your stomach you've got to eat something to help your stomach expand before you take in that much food yeah i'm not worried i really want to get 100. you'll be fine you know what the record is at this place no what is it a girl that came here ate 450 bowls in just 10 minutes that's like over that's like nearly a bowl of seconds exactly so i think you could do it i think 100 bowls isn't outside the realms possibilities but it's not that much noodles how much is in that one bowl like how many pasta strands would you say six there's enough you sort of shock it you shot it with noodles and you can't stop if you stop too long they they basically just pour the next one in the bowl so the moment you finish the woman comes in drops it in the bone you've got to go again so it's very fast it's very relentless but it's good have you ever been like accepted i was nearly sick first time oh my god oh why why can't we just go to the hotel you've got to earn your hotel you've got to earn your five stars you're like dance monkey dance in the noodles my doctor said my classroom was awful i hope you don't watch this um like really bad really yeah really bad why i don't know why because i mean [ __ ] wankers over 100 bowls that's [ __ ] white because i'm here doing this [ __ ] do this i can do this come on because eating a hundred bowls of salty noodles takes its toll alongside the wanksoba you get side dishes such as tuna chicken and radishes however nobody ever eats them trust me in the heat of the moment the last thing you want is more food i've strangling myself before i eat the bloody needles you tell chris doesn't go in the kitchen often shut up this bucket each wanker sober comes with uh sauce and the sauce goes in there you sort of tip it away all right you'll see you'll see very quickly how this is like the back wash of the noodles yeah do you get hungry actually you'll never want to eat so yeah you won't want to eat it by the evening did you get hungry at all no okay no you do i'm really nervous i'm never this nervous for videos i've done like really hard things in my life and this is the one i'm most scared of social media get some tuna with it i guess we can have like a break yeah a break i don't like all this food that they're bringing in noodles ready yeah may the better man win which is me all right [Music] this is absurd it does taste good but he said don't chew it so i'm not chewing it this is the poor dishwasher in this building look at this there's one dishwasher there with the industrial dishwasher they must they must have like five dishwashers in one chef how am i already like five bowls ahead of me i couldn't get the noodles i recommend you get a little bit of wasabi put some wasabi in the bowl it gives it a nice sort of supple not too much don't show today i don't i barely chewed a single bowl my stomach must be just like can't be good it can't be good no we not come here to reap the health benefits of savor i wish there are many perfect it's it's like the healthiest noodles is the most popular dude oh my god i'm just going so fast you know i'm not thinking usually when i compete with someone i want to destroy them but i actually want to do well with stuff i want i think you deserve that five-star experience i do i do deserve it i'm glad you're agreeing with me we've been to the worst hotel in japan we've been to an abandoned theme park we've been on a ferry that made me violently sick and we've been in an abandoned ship yeah right now i don't want to think about that like i said earlier there was a girl that did 450 bowls in 10 minutes how long we've been going fast enough we've been going seven minutes and we've done about 50. oh gosh that's not good [Music] are you not full at all you're telling me your stomach is not i'm feeling a little bit full yeah i've got jerry on speed dial waiting to be invited to a five-star best hotel room in japan come on any sane person would stop now i think they say it takes 20 minutes for your stomach to know it's full so i'm trying to i knew it five minutes like 20 minutes we must have done 60. yeah we're doing pretty well this is like of the three times i've done this this is the fastest i've ever seen anyone do it you're not getting full though yeah i'm trying to think about it don't think about it as we hit the halfway mark and start to enter the danger zone connor somehow takes the lead though it does seem he has help on the inside as someone tries to murder me mid-mouthful [Music] i wonder if there's a fine of your projectile vomit all over the wall oh my gosh don't be sick connor i keep burping i'm like 15 ahead of chris really yeah i got off to a really good start yeah you did my stomach really hurts you could summarize this experience one word fun would it be animal don't do this [Music] where's it a sick bag are you not hurting yet i can feel things in my stomach like moving like i'm pregnant or something yeah but with sober noodles and it's not nice [Music] oh why is it such a big portion as the bowls pile up around us like a small city even though connor looks like he's about to be physically sick at any moment to my absolute horror he maintains his lead until he hits a key milestone how many 90 way doing well this is where you start to feel sick the 90 point is really well yeah oh my god this is going to be like shawshank redemption this last 10 getting out the end of the tunnel the short wank redemption mark try to keep that in how are you at 80. how's it possible you kind of went to the wind that lasagna goddammit [Music] five more to beat joey i'm going to kill chris in this hotel 100 yeah oh no sorry joey i'll cancel speed dial number um 104 oh name well the function in my limbs is scarcely working sober is taking over my body like a parasite can you beat my personal best no i'm not going for that i'm not no i actually will throw up i think think of the pride you'll feel have beaten me i have no prize chris i don't know i'll be able to do a hundred i feel pretty accurate i feel so painful i can't i'm so full i can't even humor you with jokes the humor has left the building but at least i've earned my hotel room yeah well done oh my god i genuinely thought i was going to do it that was too difficult that was too what the [ __ ] leaning tower of wankin really fell over there 10 seconds in it felt like like you mentioned uh matilda yeah genuinely oh you really be hard to convince me to do this again i will say i did not enjoy that i didn't enjoy it you know it looks kind of fun on camera it does it does it looks like you can have a good time and you do and you're just like i don't actually don't want to be in pain i actually don't want to hurt looking like that one pile only don't show me that i do feel physically sick like looking at the pile of needles looking at what we've just consumed you know like after a party and you're like you clean up all the beer and bowls and stuff feels like that where you're just like wow we're really disgusting you think on paper that i would win given that i'm clearly slightly larger than connor it is odd i don't i don't know where it all went wrong for me i think maybe i was talking too much why connor was getting on with it and i had a lasagna for lunch see i thought the lasagna would like make my stomach bigger and then i could fill it with more but in reality my stomach just got filled with the lasagna i don't think pro-eaters eat before they eat i think that's calderon chewed lesson learned for next time i'm not doing this again i've done microsoft like three times now with natsuki ryotaro and connor and i'm not i'm not doing it ever again but well done you've suffered a great deal today the pain was worth it you beat joey and you've got the five-star hotel room are you ready for tokyo you've never been before right i i'm going to be lying in this room you can review i'm going to be sitting in the bed or something let's go let's go also there's a tradition in uh wanker sorbet connor Didn't really enjoy that one tbh. Not a big fan of Connor but I do enjoy the wacky weekends series. I guess it's the wanko soba challenge. Already seen a video of it by Chris once and don't really find it that interesting to revisit.
