I Found 100 of the RAREST Axolotl in Minecraft Hardcore (#48)

it's the question everyone is asking right now where is wadzie well obviously he must be working on some ridiculously large minecraft video right maybe making another netherite beacon maybe building an entire city out of melons or maybe he is busy building our entire observable universe in the game of minecraft nope i haven't been doing any of those things in fact i haven't even worked on a video in well over a week g'day guys my name is woodsy and welcome back to another episode of hardcore minecraft i am here in the melon mansion today because i thought i would just pay melanie a little bit of a visit hey melanie how are you i am so lonely anyway it's been a while since i've done a hardcore minecraft episode in the last episode we actually ticked off all of the advancements in the game so if you haven't seen that i highly suggest you go watch that video and before i get on to what we're going to be doing in today's episode it's tradition for the first time in a long while it's time to add another 200 melons to this melon farm [Music] now wait a second while i'm busy planting melons why don't i explain properly what we're doing in today's video so not too long ago now i found not one but two blue axolotls a super rare color variant of the new mob which makes these things the rarest mob in the game and now that i have two it means i can breed them to have infinite rare blue axolotls so in today's video i'm going to be building an incredible home for my axolotls and breeding them until i have well over 100 of the rarest mob in the game and as always these videos take a he's going with those melons ah thank you wodzie yeah i'm i'm still definitely planting melons still planting melons all right and just like that i've added another 200 melons to the melon farm for today which i do at the start of every single hardcore episode and i mean just look at how many melons i have planted now it's ridiculous and to think at one point i started with just a single row of melons and this is where we are now all right and today's first order of business is down here in my ender chest these two buckets of axolotls here i hope these are still my blue axolotl friends let's see yep yep this video is going to be all about these two little guys and the first order of business is to give them names now thanks to this comment here the first one is going to be named berry and the comment also said to name the other one blue for obvious reasons you know blueberry but i thought it would be funnier if we named the other one barry so we have barry and barry there we go we have berry and barry here in our hardcore world and today's mission is going to be about building a kingdom for these guys and breeding so we have unlimited blue axolotls it's time for some more pointless building all right so since we're gonna be breeding a bunch of these guys i think it's best if we get this a little bit away from our spawn because we already have so many entities around my spawn it's kind of ridiculous so i'm thinking maybe just just out here here might be a nice flat area to build it i'm gonna build a giant water tank and then i'm gonna fill it up with like oceany stuff and just make it a great place for 100 blue axolotls to live but of course before you can do any awesome build in minecraft first you need to collect your materials now of course for today's build we're gonna need a ton of glass to build our aquarium so the first order of business today is we need to tear apart the desert some more i have made a promise to myself that one day i will destroy every single piece of sand that is in this desert biome it's just amusing to see a desert that is completely bare i'm sorry turtles i'm oh i'm really sorry about that all right and i'm thinking while i'm here it could be cool to pick up some sandstone as well all right look at least for now we probably have plenty of sand and sandstone so now let's make the quick journey back home and start smelting it up [Music] all right here we are at the smelting room and let's start us off by just getting an entire shulker box full of glass all right and now while we wait around for all of this glass to smelt up let's go right ahead and start collecting some of the next blocks we're gonna need for this build and majority of those blocks are gonna be wood there's two different woods i want for this build i want a fair bit of spruce wood for one and i'm also gonna want a little bit of dark oak wood as well so for the next little while while i'm waiting around for this glass i'm just gonna chop down these two trees and then there's still some more i'm gonna need to collect after that as well all right so now that i've got my full shulker box full of glass and i've also got a bunch of this wood it's time to move on to the next ingredient and that ingredient is going to be these warped uh blue nether planks i don't exactly know how much i need but i'm going to try and collect as much as i possibly can and while i'm at it not burned to death in lava the one thing i find super weird about these nether trees is how they made it that the leaves or i guess what are these blocks called just the warped wart blocks don't disappear i mean i guess they're technically not leaves then but like still it's just weird i spent a little longer collecting some more warf logs and then finally i had enough materials to make a start on today's build alright so i've got enough materials now i think it's time we actually got started with the build now of course like every good build we're gonna start it off with a circle but instead of like flattening out the earth or whatever i would usually do i'm gonna start this build by actually building up like a bit of a foundation like kind of like a rocky kind of rocky base uh so yeah let's start off by marking out our circle [Music] one two three four one two three four five one two three four five so that is our circle i think it's still honestly a little bigger than what i wanted it to be but i think i'll just roll it for now now we're gonna build it up on the inside of this circle and bring it all in towards the middle kind of to get like a bit of a slope on the outside i'm not explaining this well at all am i what i'm actually going to do now is do a layer on the inside of this that kind of try and slow the gradient a bit [Music] so now i have the ridiculously fun job of filling over the top of this flattening it off now of course since i'm going to be covering this over i'm going to need to light up the inside or else this would just be a perpetual mob spawner finally i've finished the foundation for today's build that is our cobblestone blob i'm going to make it blend into the to the scenery a lot better but i'll focus on that later on for now i think it's actually more important to actually focus on our axolotls fish tank i guess that's really what it is now we have to try and we have to try and mark out the area and the shape that we want this thing to be [Music] all right so here's the thing i wanted to make this shape of this tank a lot more square well actually i wanted it to be a square but i realized if it was going to be a square there'd be way too much dead space on this so i've just marked out a square for now but now i'm going to figure out some sort of better shape that'll work and fit with the rock better now instead of just having another just circle shape i've created this kind of almost circular squarey kind of shape so now i guess i'll explain uh the blocks i've got and kind of how this design is going to work i saw this design in some other build and got really inspired because i thought it looked uh it looked really cool i'm going to be using some stairs like this and then going in an alternating pattern like so which gives you like kind of this effect you get this nice little wall with a bunch of little holes in it so everywhere where i have this uh these warped planks all around the outside i will build up a small wall like this and then on the inside of this build is where i'm actually going to have the glass look i've got a lot more to explain but for now the next step i think i'm going to move on to is building up the glass now with all the glass i brought that's as tall as i managed to make this thing and honestly i don't think it's tall enough but for the moment i actually think i'm gonna go back to uh finishing off this uh design at the bottom of our build here so let's get the warped blocks back out make a bunch of stairs now it's a little more difficult but i think i should still be able to keep up this design even on these corners yeah that still works and if anything it works better all right and now we can move on to the next step of this build where we build out this spruce frame what are you doing here wait no i don't want to kill you because this is annoying leave me alone please ow okay where did you where'd you all come from no leave me alone please okay now i have a bad omen i'm gonna forget about it i'm gonna start a raid later on on accident so yes the next part of this is to build out the spruce frames like so i don't exactly know how i'm going to do this on the corners okay that's a little better all right and then a final touch to this whole thing is i come along like so all right and that's pretty much where the design ends i'm going to cap that off there and then above that everything will just be glass i think my plan going forward is to get a bunch more glass make it even taller and then that way i can add another one of these sort of designs at the top kind of lip yeah i like that design maybe too much i'll maybe mess with the dark oak on top there might be too much of that but i love this color scheme i don't remember where i saw it but yeah this just looks great and it gives off a real like watery vibe [Music] i finished off the design all the way around the bottom of this tank and it looked great and then i went off and grabbed some more sand to make a bunch more glass and it was time to take this thing to the sky i can't help but think that this thing just looks really stupid but i feel like as soon as i get water in it that'll all change but anyway next step here is to add a bit of a design to the top half of this container let's just start off by going all the way around the outside [Music] and now i just need to go around the entire perimeter with this fun little pattern that i've created by this point i'd actually gotten pretty good at this stair pattern and then all i had to do was copy exactly what i did on the bottom half but upside down and finally after all this building the tank was complete well actually not really there's still some things i want to change but pretty much that's it uh but bear with me there's just there's a couple things all right so just take a look at this now all right good now let's go make a few minor changes all right boom sea lanterns [Music] if i accidentally built a pillager outpost or something what is with these guys how have i ran into two of these guys already please leave me alone anyway i've made some minor changes to this thing and boom look it already looks a lot better just with a splash of sea lanterns all over the place now it's enough talk it's time to work on getting some water in this thing now apparently since i hate myself i wanted to lower the floor a couple of blocks first so i could put other blocks in later and it just took forever is this worth it probably not when i have a picture of how i want the build in my head i just i can't cut corners i have to make it how i envision it so i've just done all this extra work just to bring the floor down a couple of blocks why would i do this all right and now we have a nice flat floor that we can fill up with water all right and there we go and now we have a very fun job oh god wait how do i get out of here now we have a very fun job of trying to fill up this tank with water all the way up to the top all right so this bit's going to be a little bit painstaking but the good thing is once i do it once it'll it'll be done it'll all be finished so of course much like when i made the axolotl farm i'm just going around the outside with some water sources and then i can go get a bunch of kelp you may notice i'm not going all the way up to the very top with the water and there is a reason for that which will make sense later on i mean all right let's give this thing a shot now this may not seem like the most necessary thing and i know this is another method to quite quickly fill up like a space with water which where you just do the top layer and then break a bunch of blocks and then the water will flow down and it'll give the illusion that it's full with water but what i'm doing is actually super necessary and it actually makes it so every single block is a source block as you can see there's a huge difference between this side where i can grab water from anywhere i cannot grab water from everywhere here though for example i'm clicking right now i can't get water under underwater but over here where every single block is a source block not a problem it's raining kelp this is actually really cool wow yep yep there we go there we go watch oh my god is that going to go all the way how far is it going okay it goes all the way to there look at this like tsunami go look isn't this so cool now all i had to do was just clean up around the edges and fill it in with water and finally i had finished my fish tank and it was full but of course the pointless building is far from over even after all that we'd really only managed to make a tube of water and this is no place for barry and barry to live but don't worry i have a lot planned to make this build look amazing so as you can see we definitely need to improve this place [Music] [Music] all right and there we go after completely over complicating that whole process i've now changed all the blocks in the floor of this build to be either gravel or sand [Music] so the concept here is i want to have like like a tunnel system [Music] all right cool perfect i don't know what i'm doing this is actually really difficult all right so this is what i've come up with so far for my castle um it's it's okay i guess but i just i want it to be bigger like i have so much space here and i wanted this to be quite a main feature but it's just it's so ugly [Music] all right i'm finally starting to get kind of a good idea of this thing's shape i've got it really symmetrical which is good i'm gonna add a lot more detail but for now i'm creating boxes and shapes how i want it and i think i've got a good idea for these tunnels too so kind of like a multi-layered cake we've got a massive base at the bottom which you can swim through and then you can swim up top and then up here is going to be another layer and you'll be able to swim through a crossroads of corridors here as well and i think that makes a good little system oh i forgot to breathe whoops all right now this is the bit where i come in with some some extra details like it's still not perfect and there's heaps of work i got to do but it definitely looks better and it's starting to look more like a castle with that now i can start doing similar details up here on this next layer [Music] all right nice this is starting to resemble a castle we are getting there alright so now i'm just working on putting some more details into these pillars and also getting some more like block variation and you can see that that definitely uh that helps a lot and if you thought this looked good now i went away and added as much detail as i could to this underwater castle and this is what i came up with as you can see this is this is the design it's looking pretty cool the only real thing i want to change i mean i'm sure there's plenty i could change but i want to scatter some some lighting all over the place we only want our axolotls in here really we don't want any mobs to spawn in here [Music] oh and another thing i'm getting a little sidetracked here but i want to grab some brown wool all right now with my brown wool i want to scatter it up top here to prevent any mobs from spawning all right and now that i finished the main part of this build you can see how our castle is looking good filling up most of space time to get a little creative and add in some terrain now this is going to be a little different but all along the edge of this this build i want to have these these like platforms coming off the sides because you know axolotls yeah they like water but sometimes they like a little bit of land and we need to accommodate for that all right and now just to grab myself some of this sand now this was the whole reason that i didn't take the water all the way up to the top because if i'm gonna allow my axolotls to like you know come up here onto this land i don't want to give them the opportunity to climb out and now we've got a bit of a land mass just glued to the side of our tank here which is cool now i'm just gonna do that again over over here on this side all right and that's pretty much another bit of land complete and now actually what i'm gonna do is actually make a few more of these platforms but a little smaller but underwater just to like you know change it up all right very cool now i just need to go grab a bunch more sand [Music] i mean and just straight away it just makes this entire space like a lot more interesting yeah i like these little platforms a lot but i still need to build underneath them all right well now that's all done it looks a little funky from the outside but i think it's definitely worth it because when you're actually inside that tank it looks so much cooler but now i'm going to fly off because i want to get a bunch of leaves which i'm going to use for different things like seaweed and a few different purposes all right first of all i want to hide a bit more lighting just make sure all this land is well lit and there is no mob spawns all right sweet now i've added all that i think it's time to go ahead actually you know what i think we've built enough of this now i think it's nice enough to finally introduce it to our two favorite axolotls barry and barry there you go guys enjoy come on go inside please please go inside i wonder where barry is where's barry oh there you are barry well they seem to like it i think that's cool but it's still not good enough there were still a lot of details missing so i grabbed some kelp and some bone meal and got to work spreading out some seagrass and putting some life into this thing and that improved it drastically but then i realized we could still take this to another level it's now time to go on an adventure all right i've loaded up on fireworks i've got myself my silk touch pick it's time to go on the journey for some coral all right we'll surely be loading in an ocean sometime soon am i loading new chunks right now why is this so slow oh wait a minute i could of course use a few of these lily pads these could come in handy oh my look at this look at this giant ruined portal this is insane okay there's a jungle out here i feel like i'm loading in new chunks right now this is kind of weird wait this is ocean all right whoa i actually have i have loaded in new chunks i don't even need to travel that far to get like new blocks like these anymore wait maybe i could use some of these blocks in the build oh that's exactly what we were after oh this is tiny oh this is pathetic anyway uh do i get okay cool i can get these with silk touch as well but more importantly i want these blocks oh see pickles i forgot these things existed i think that's literally the first time i've picked up a sea pickle in this world it's the first of all this stuff that i've collected too if i'm not mistaken [Music] by the way quick psa do not destroy our coral reefs this is minecraft do not recommend doing this in real life all right i probably should have brought a shulker box with me but not a bad haul of uh of coral i'm gonna take this home with me and then we can finish off our build and of course the finishing touches to this build was just placing coral all over the place these blocks really helped finish this build off because all the additional splashes of colour really helped make this whole thing feel alive and even the smaller coral lily pads and sea pickles all help to fill in the space and it has been done there is so much detail i've put into this thing even up to the pond thing i've got at the very surface up here look at all the colors and the different plants and ah barry's loving it even through here i tried to get a few different coral bits on the underside of these little islands i've put all the uh the what's that called again amethyst yeah amazing what a lovely home for a bunch of axolotls and that right there is how we managed to turn this empty plane into this giant aquarium which is beautifully decorated but now with the pointless building pretty much finished our mission doesn't end there because now it's time to fill it up with axolotls all right come here come here barry come here barry now if i'm not mistaken if i breed these two guys the only possible axel yeah that's right yep yep the only possible axolotl that should uh come from these two is another blue rare axolotl and if this is true yes perfect this means i can now breed hundreds of the rare where did where did my baby go [Music] but hey as a mean time thing while we wait for the axolotls to be ready to breed again i'm gonna fix this uh foundation stone uh because it is a little ugly just all cobblestone as is at the moment all right yeah sweet so i'm just gonna work on blending this in all the way around the outside while i wait for my axolotls to be able to breed in fact they may even be able to breed now let's let's go have a look can you guys breed again it looks like he can alright there we go that's our fourth blue axolotl and there's gonna be many more to come i mean yeah so that is now that is now it we are officially done with building i have nothing else i want to change so now it seems like a good time to make a trip to the ocean and collect as many tropical fish as i possibly can and then we'll have to do more breeding joint oh it's egg oh my god wait hey all i'm saying is if you know you know over two shulker boxes full of tropical fish let's head back and let's get breeding i'm estimating we're at about 10 axolotls so far so 10 of the way there to 100. i'm going to try my best to keep track of it but it's going to be hard to know really oh i am going to drown majority of the rest of this video for me is going to be just waiting around and that's another axolotl baby [Music] look at the blue axolotl army isn't it so cool that these are like rare and i'm about to have a hundred of them all right these are actually my last five buckets of tropical fish which is kind of good because it means we've done a lot of breeding but it also means we're gonna have to go ahead oh no come back we're gonna have to go ahead and find some more tropical fish so we can breed some more so if i was to estimate how many blue axolotls i have i would say we're a quarter of the way to 100. i want to say we're around the 25 range but i really have no clue but hey let's grab all our buckets let's head back to the ocean and let's stock back up on tropical fish it's so cool like it's already so awesome like going around and just seeing the axolotls everywhere like they're even going in these tunnels now i love it wait hold on a second i'm still waiting for my axolotls and breeding them and stuff but i just wanted to check this wondering traders trades he has moss blocks this is the only way you can get this block at this moment in the game i'm gonna go try and get some emeralds and get myself some moss blocks look the one time i i want to actually trade with one of these guys i bet he despawns i bet all right are you still here yes okay you're still here great uh you know why not let's just trade all of it thank you very much sir pleasure doing business with you oh hey barry what are you doing up here always so exciting to see berry or barry and that was actually once again all the tropical fish i had so that means i'm gonna have to do another trip look how many blue axle bottles i have and this probably isn't even half of them i still have so many down there that aren't following me alright let's try and breed these guys all right that was once again all of the tropical fish i had i think i'm gonna make just one last trip one last trip fill all my buckets with tropical fish once i use all that and breed all these guys one final time and i'm going to assume we will have well over 100 of these extremely rare blue axolotls all right and this is the last fish that's it now finally i can just take a step back and just take it in and just look at the absolute mayhem i have created hundreds of axolotls swimming around this beautiful aquarium not just any axolotls the rarest mobs in the game so that's how i got over 100 blue axolotls in my hardcore world and also built a giant
