HOWA 1500 30-06 TEST GROUPS Stand up for Your Country.

[Music] hi folks today I'm gonna be working up a load for this so how will 1500 chambered in 30.6 and I've got a nice loop hold 3 de9 gold ring on it and we're gonna be trying the 178 grain on the day a maxes see if we can put these to fly out hoping that the fog burns off so that we can do some 100-yard shooting we'll see all up the Mother Nature standby so I'm working up these loads using wind chatter no federal federal cartridge brass I'm going to be using like I said the Hornaday 178 great name axes CCI number 200 primers and I'm going to be using 4350 IMR 4350 and we'll get these worked up and you know back and start doing some shooting [Music] okay so we get five sets of three I'm going to start that forty six point seven grains and work my my way up to fifty four and a half grains we'll see which one groups are best and go from there [Music] [Music] [Music] not a bad little 3-shot group one there one there one there into the quarter inch and a half Inchon in a pretty good place to start see what happens over the last four cents so we're going to 48.6 grains now start adding pressure nad in power and adding speed [Music] so this cartridge it's gonna start climbing up in in pressure and speed by the time we get up in here we'll see how that group is but this cartridge is 30.6 has killed everything on this continent everything it's a pretty powerful round and so if you can tame that and have a good group there's no reason in the world well you can't kill out to six and seven hundred yards with this weapon very easily yeah another good group let's tighten it up this could be very promising it's a 5/8 five eighths my three quarters group not bad at all yeah still not developing any pressure per se flattening out a little bit but no distinct ridge so got room to play so this this thing recoil is pretty good it's gonna smack you pretty good by the time we get up there but like with your Magnum load through your Magnum rifles a lot of them have a muzzle brake on the end it makes it a heck of a lot louder but it reduces the recoil but boy you don't want to be shooting that thing without earphones and earplugs in because it'll rattle your day something fear all right so got two bullets touching there and then one flyer out here so we'll see as we go up in powder it may start blowing apart a little bit we'll see I don't know I don't know what's up with this one here but we'll see what happens yeah starting to punch and flatten out a little bit more but still not ridging so we're good [Music] just in time bug starting to roll in we only got three more shots to make and this is looking pretty promising so here's that last group cue ball it's touching what about five-eighths of an inch away and we're adding some pretty good power with that so we'll see what this next group does it could stay just as tight be one heck of a good load for this gun this gun likes this bullet because it's it's pretty consistent with its groups even with the powder charges I'm hoping this next one groups that well if not better that'll be really nice [Music] all right so the last volley is going to be at fifty four and a half grain if it holds tight this could be a real promising load really like in the way that this bullet is digesting through the barrels so hopefully this is it and we'll be able to see from here what we're going to do flattened out real good really no rich to speak of it's still not a real hot round yeah well go see how those look I'll have to see how that groups that could almost go with the hotter powder well this is a group it through even a little bit bigger group than the first so I'm just I'm thinking I can do a little bit better grouping this isn't a bad group and this isn't a bad group but there's absolutely no pressure signs on the on the primer so that's kind of telling me that I can go with a faster burning powder and it might tighten my group up so the next volley I'm going to load up I don't know it'll either be reload or 15 or even some 40 64 go a little bit faster and see if we can't can't get better pressure readings on the primer a little bit harder hot around and still hold a good group well I went back up to the house and developed three more loads so these are using IMR 40 64 which is quite a bit faster burning powder let's see how those react still no sign of pressures excessive pressure anyway we'll go up and see how those look that's not a bad group to start with see what the last two do these next three are going to be 47 grains so we'll see if they tighten up starting to flight anout still no ridge around the firing pin okay so still not a bad a little group one here one here and one here yeah you'll see what this last one does see if it tightens up a little bit but that's a pretty good building block and just go from there all right so this last volley is going to be forty nine point two grains we'll see if it tightens up or blows apart and we'll go from there climber's are flattening still no Ridge around the firing pin so we're still good as far as pressure goes we'll go check it and see okay so it appears to me that through one here and that looks big enough to be two so two touching with one flying hmm might have to load some more up of that highest grain weight and come back out and try it again before I'm all the way satisfied with that if not that I'm going to try building a load based on the first group which is still a pretty nice little group and and see how it tightens up going out further but this could be very well could have been a fowling shot after cleaning it but if I got bullets inside each other I need to I need to work on that a little bit before I do anything else so we'll try that next and then we'll go to the hundred 200 300 yard test all right folks hopefully that helps you a little bit we'll see see what a faster burning powder will do for this I'm really impressed with this bullet in this gun no so I think we've got a really good starting point we're gonna end up with a really good load it's gonna reach out and tip something over at five six maybe even seven hundred yards Oh thanks for watching and be sure you you
