HOWA 1500 BULLET SPEED TEST

howdy folks so the other day after firing that aught-six off I still was a kind of undecided as to which powder was gonna throw the best load so I loaded up five of the best out the 43 50 and I also loaded up five of the best of the 40 64 this is what threw out of the 43 50 not a bad group it's not bad at all but the 40 64 that's a hell of a group so I've loaded up about 20 more of these I'm going to go fire them off at 200 and 300 yards and then I'm going to chronograph it and probably be able to call this a wrap but we'll find out standby okay so at 200 yards this is my group 1 2 3 4 5 more than likely that was my cold shot and so it's this group right here which isn't bad for 200 yards and this is my 300 yard group 1 2 3 4 5 this is probably my cold shot here so my group is right here at 300 yards that is one heck of a group I'm really happy with it well the other day I come out and fired off the 200 and 300 rounds and I really liked the groups that it was kicking out and I wanted to chronograph it but cloud showed up you didn't have enough Sun with these chronographs you got a half Sun you can't have clouds covering your Sun because this bullet gets read by the shade to go through here you don't have shade you're not gonna read your bullets and you're wasting your time so it's a good sunny day Sunday morning we're gonna pop these 5 off and get a good read [Music] let me pick 59 that's first shot you can keep it right around there almost 2700 feet per second that's gonna be a smoking load all right I'm going to clean this thing and we'll do that four more times can see where we're at [Music] really imperative you clean this in between each shot so that you get the most accurate read you can and it's letting the barrel cool a little bit you're not going to get it as cool as those as a cold war but it's going to end up being pretty accurate and you're gonna take your five shots and average them and that's going to be your your velocity that you're going to base all your dope on like we might have some clouds so we'll see hopefully they stay away long enough for it to do some more shot that second one registered at 26 55 so I'm within was in four so far so we just keep cleaning and let it cool a little bit that should be pretty close to it for an accurate reading so the third one's about ready so 26 22 sometimes them flaps kind of fall apart with all this wind generated going through you just put it back together 26:14 still better than 2,600 feet per second that's pretty doggone good [Music] [Music] 26:58 so the average velocity of this load is two thousand six hundred and forty one point six feet per second which is actually pretty good that's a almost 180 green bullet doing darn near 2700 feet per second and then the testing that did I did I saw that even as three hundred yards the bullet wasn't dropping yet this is going to be a good load it's gonna be able to get out five hundred six hundred yards no problem probably half jokes to take it out a lot further than that but you take all this information and the information about the weapon and the scope and the reticle and you punch it into your strelok that's in your phone and you'll be able to figure out just where to hold as far out as your scope will take you so I think this is a wrap this has been one of the easiest weapons to figure out I've had first first bullet only two different powders have a group like that and cronograph out like that it's a good shooter though it's excellent deer rifle and heck even smoking out with this thing to tip it right over so hope that helps you if you have any questions just let me know throw me throw me a note on the comment section other than that be sure you thank your local police sheriff first responders and their boys are getting shot out so much and tried to people trying to run them over so much it's it's getting really stupid yeah they put their lives on the line tell them we can be safe remember to think of it have a good day I hope you enjoyed the video he did give me a big thumbs up and subscribe to the channel and be sure to leave me a comment I sure appreciate and love you comment [Music]
