welcome everybody to another episode of the tips inspired today I'm going to be showing you how to make naan breads at home I've had so many requests for this on mine atif since pipe Instagram page as well as my Facebook page so get connected with me through Instagram right this is a very simple recipe and that anybody can follow and hopefully you can do at home when we in the restaurant we make big massive batches obviously the naan breads gonna fly now but I've simplified it for 2 to 4 people that you can do at home so hopefully on high demand of got this recipe everything that we have in the restaurant but I'm gonna do it and simplified it for you that you can do at home so hopefully if you follow this recipe you're gonna have a beautiful naan breads with your meal any time at home so know I'm really is today guys right I've got my measuring scale put a nice mixing bowl on turn it on and the setting for grams I need about 250 grams good old self raising flour 238 it's exactly bang-on 250 but just over two of these measurements of these cups American measurements when you use my mum's baking powder want the naan breads to have a nice fluffy texture and help it rise the self raising flour and the baking powder should definitely do the business you want to have some taste so I'm going to just use a little bit of salt one two pinches of salt just less than half a teaspoon measurement this is the nigella seed the Cullen G some people put it all on top of the naan bread but I feel this is the best way so got two pinches this is very traditional when you bite into the naan bread you'll have that savory sort of flavor it's beautiful and it's very traditional in Indian cooking so there you go that's the dry mixture gonna give this a nice little mix enough and measuring scale off so now this is mixed I'm going to leave it aside right so I have a hundred milliliters of milk there you go so what I'm going to do when i crack an egg and put it in what the egg tends to do is mix it fluffy and helps it rise so it's essential but you can leave that out it's no problem whatsoever I'm not going to use any yeast or anything that's going to be here and this is just general vegetable oil one good tablespoon no I've got my mom's sugar pot he's so cute there you go so you want the naan breads to be sweet one and a half so now let's give all the lips make sure to mix this guys very well once you mix that because we've got the the sugar the caster sugar and it's got this it's got the little crystals so leave it here about 5-10 minutes and then come back to it and then we'll mix it so you want the sugar to dissolve basically this is exactly the same process as I doing the restaurant but massive big batches normally I'd put the hollandaise everything in here mix this up and then mix it to the flour but I'm showing you hopefully this is simple and easy for you to do this is extremely simple and it's all if you get the technique and the methodology right hopefully you'll have a fun fantastic fluffy naan bread at home so this is not the custard mix this is the and you might be wondering bloody oh is he doing the naan bread or is he doing a cake I'm not I'm gonna do a nice long breath but this is beautiful sweet fluffy and when it cooks in a tandoor it's absolutely gorgeous with a drizzle of ghee well now I've mixed it thoroughly and now what I'm gonna do leave it to rest and come back to it in about 10 minutes right it's been about 10 minutes guys so now what I'm gonna do that's the flour mixture now add this lovely they go add all the wet ingredients so the sugar has dissolved as well it doesn't have to crystal form got this to a nice mix now I wash my hands there you go the surface is nice and clean don't worry about make sure you clean yours too longer you do this better than ah is going to be basically just oil in my phone I don't want the butter to stick here basically and just oil this up so it's been mix I'm gonna kill him this up and leave this to rest it goes being clear filmed up I'm gonna leave this for a good few hours let it rest and then I'll make it into a portion out some round balls exactly the same process as I would doing the restaurant we would probably make this the stove one night before and cook on the following day but for you guys at home it's going to be nice and easy for you so naan bread dough is done leave it to rest for a few hours and a bit later portion out two balls and a bit later we're gonna be the naan breads there you go alright the dough has been resting comfortably good nice and squidgy basically I'll bounce know what I'm gonna do coz I've ordered the bottom that it was really stick here so no so that's perfectly for naan bread so now all I do is just make it into a round ball okay sunflower does my plate there you go now I'm going to let this rest for another hour or two when I'm ready to eat and I'll rolled out and I'll show you the next process so just get some clean film wrap your top you can make this the following day or the day after it's no problem but if you want to make it on the day then just do it after a couple of hours or you can do it straight away but do it after a couple hours will be nice and fluff up beautifully so there you go I'm gonna stick this in the fridge for a couple of hours before ready to eat right the doors been resting a lifter in the fridge for a few hours after portioning it out no that's the surface area press it down start rolling it this is my mom's cute rolling pin brought from it was a gift that was these are only made in Bangladesh I'm sorry bun of this they normally make the rice rotis so having the lines over here helps it not to sort of stick so now roll this out there you go quite thin I've got this tower heat this up and I'll show you the next process right after Roma and anon out because I'm not gonna stick it in the tandoor I'm gonna be cooking it in the tower what I need to do is put some water at the bottom so it sticks to the cast iron tower and also to keep the moisture locked in and to keep it nice and like an egg wash get some oil and drizzle that on top and just give it a nice wipe over it but what I'm gonna do the first one I'm going to show you without putting the oil in which is perfectly fine it just makes it easier for you to do the numbers at home and the second one I'll show you with putting the oil like an egg wash so what I do so this is some water there you go I'm going to put the tabla on the gas and then I'm gonna start making the lines they smell a lot I thought my tower cast iron on the gas and I'm gonna heat this up until it's really hot normally takes should take about three to five minutes right I can feel the heat the cast iron tower is extremely hot now now I'm gonna get them all what I tend to do is hold the two ends over here and then plate this is extremely hot so do be careful when you're doing there when you see the little bubbles puff up like this and I'll show you the next process they go beautiful absolutely gorgeous this is what I wanted those little bubbles air bubbles fantastic no the bottom I know is really hot and heated up what I'm gonna do now because I put the water it's stuck on to the cast iron now about five or six inches above the gas just put this on like this be very patient and you should get for some fantastic arm breads you can go on a circular motion like this beautiful look it up beautiful wonderful beautiful absolutely gorgeous nines there you go you can have some fantastic nombres at home and you don't need to visit me up a restaurant there you go guys absolutely wonderful naan breads so all the tandoori chefs out there I hope you're not going to lose jobs don't worry people still would want your beautiful naan breads from the tandoor look how absolutely gorgeous now that's ready you can see the little there you go that toasted bits and I'll show you how to take off so use one of these that are there you go it's not burnt wonderful naan breads our lovely ghee kannan Brandt bets key in the whole wide world so all you do now if you don't have a brush just drizzle some butter pure ghee sorry there you go now if you can see the dust over here sort of dries out the non-top so on the second on I'm going to put some oil on one side and water on the other side to help it stick and you won't get this you get a lovely luck at egg wash on an arm bread fantastic I hope the tandoori chefs happy with me mama hope you up not ashamed of me doing this naan bread at home beautiful absolutely gorgeous on to the next all right so I've got the naan bread rolled out to a nice circular disc now just put a bit of oil like I said this is like an egg wash helps it lock in the moisture sort off and doesn't let that dust Eve so pops up beautifully basically oh there you go now what I'm gonna do put it on my hand dump some water the water is essential because you want that Nombre to stick on the tower there you go now the tower is nice and hot and I'll show you the next process right smoking away so this is the watered side and the other side is with the oil so what I'm gonna do the same process again hold the two ends like this so normally the number is is a bit pointy so just try to make it being like that so there you go so remember this is the oil side up and that was the other side was the water now it's bubbling up beautifully make sure to wipe your hands now look at this puffing up beautifully there you go I'm going to ask my mom to help me so I can actually show you the other side so once you see it raised out this then just get out of that and about there you go about five six inches on top I'm Mogador I'm asking my mom to hold this for me try to show you the other side there you go if you can see over here without me hey-ho is toasting up beautifully puff it up now when you stick it in the tandoor oven about 350 degrees this is what happens and it just normally takes about three minutes for nombres just to pop out both sides get done quickly there you go because up the oil as you can see beautiful now I'm gonna tell my mom to turn it around what up okay Bob's your uncle done there you go wonderful now this was some me turn the gas off some numbers here ready this one on voila lovely fresh norm breads at home fresh naan breads at home puffed up beautifully this is cooked on the tava not in the clay oven so takeaway and restaurant style norm breads if not better at home beautiful if you've enjoyed this don't forget to like share and subscribe
