so final cut already has a good set amount of effects and transitions that are all pre-installed and comes with the software already you can also find some free and paid ones out there from a bunch of different creators but there is a way for you to combine and match all these effects that you find and create your own unique preset which you can easily save and use in future projects by just dragging and dropping them onto your clip and that is what i'm going to be showing you guys today in this tutorial it's all really easy to do and i'll show you guys how to do it all in final cut pro 10. and if this is something that you guys want to see more of make sure to like subscribe and hit that bell notification button and also leave me a comment down below and let me know what type of videos you guys want to see in the future [Music] now before i show you guys how to easily do all these in final cut pro 10 let me just quickly shout out mix kit for sponsoring this video so if you guys haven't heard of mix kit yet i highly suggest you go check them out right after you watch this video they are a free resource for all types of creators they provide all types of assets that anyone can download and use in their projects whether it's for personal or commercial and it's all free they have high quality music on there they can use and most recently they added in free templates for final cut pro 10 premiere after effects and davinci resolve so make sure to check out the website and see if there's anything on there that might work for your video the link to mix kit will be in the description down below [Music] so today i want to show you guys how you can easily create your own effects and transitions save it and use them for your future videos by just clicking and dragging them to the clips [Music] okay so for the first one here i'm going to use a bunch of pre-installed effects on final cut pro 10. i'm going to combine them together and then save it as a transition so that i can use it in future projects i'll be playing around with the graduated mass tool bad tv and a comic effect in this first example so i'm going to drag the first clip onto the timeline and then i'm going to copy it and paste it on top so that i have two of them so what i'm trying to do with this first example is add a bunch of different effects to the top clip and then have it fade out and reveal the bottom one so we'll drag the comic basic to the top clip bad tv next and then adjust the amount until you're happy with how it looks [Music] now we're going to drag the graduated mask tool on top of that as well i'm going to change my view side so that i can see the outside of the frame better to help us with the masking afterwards so we're going to move this outer circle to the right side of the other one and then move the whole thing over to the right side of the screen now with the play head at the beginning of this clip we just need to add the keyframe to graduated mask and then target and center now find a point on that clip where you want the transition to end i'm going to end it around three seconds drag that middle circle again but this time to the other side of the frame until it has fully revealed the bottom clip so now it will do something like this now say you really love the transition that you just created and you want to use it in your future projects so all you need to do is highlight the top clip that has all the effects added on and then click on save effects preset which is here in the inspector tab you'll see all the different effects that you've added on uh now you want to check off the effects that you want to save so in this example you want to save all of them plus i want to maintain that three second transition timing so i will select maintain timing make sure to name your effect as well and put it in whatever category that you want i'm going to create a new one called prime time presets and then i'm going to put it in there [Music] say you're working on a new project and you want to use this transition that you just created again new clip same thing you have one on top of the other if you go into your effects tab under the category that you created you will now see that transition that you just made drag that on top of your clip and you're done [Music] the awesome thing is you're able to adjust the settings and tweak them as well if you need to for each effect after you place them on your clip so here's another example this one i'll probably use more often in my videos it's an effect going from black and white to color so with the tip selected i'm going to click on the color board and change the saturation levels all the way down so that the clip is black and white now with the playhead at the beginning i'm going to add a keyframe for that color board then around four seconds in i wanted to have fully revealed the color version already so i'm going to move to that mark and change the saturation back to normal so now you have this black and white color fade effect that you can drag on to any clip in future projects click on save effects preset name it and then save it [Music] so when making these just make sure to get extra creative and just remember that you can use effects that you find online from other creators and combine them with the ones that you have in final cut pro 10. these were just super basic examples of what you guys can do you can definitely get really really crazy with it especially with the masking tools thank you for watching guys and let me know again
