what's up guys Tim little welcome back to tactical bass and today we got another underwater video for you there's so much to learn when you can get down below the surface and check out these fish so today we're going subsurface I'm gonna cover some key baits that you guys need to pay attention to and try out also cover some fish mannerisms and how they react to different styles of bait in today's video so let's head under the surface [Music] alright today before we head underwater I want you guys if you guys have not checked out the videos that Matt and I have done previously here in the last few weeks we've done some real in-depth site fishing videos I'll leave a link to some up here and down below in the video description but those are key videos you I should watch because they were more in depth talking about bow positioning fish mannerisms bait styles types all that sort of stuff you guys should really check that because it will make you a better sight fishermen this season today's video it's gonna be more underwater footage I'm covering three styles of baits a swim bait a jig and a worm and what I really want you guys to key in on or pay attention to is how each fish is different and how each fish reacts to the different styles of baits you know some fish they hate that drop shot sitting there shaking in their face some fish hate little bluegill swimming on their beds and some could care less about both so today pay attention to some of those details as I cover those three different baits on three different fish I got three different fish for you guys underwater and I will rotate through the baits and I want you guys to pay attention on how fast they start reacting spinning circles near their bed their nest or how they don't care at all or their dorsal fin as soon as I fit up flip the correct bait in that dorsal fin goes up and it's it's game on so pay attention to those real fine details because when you guys can notice that stuff above water what they react to what they don't react to where all that stuff it will make you guys a better sight fishermen so let's go check it out underwater notice the dorsal fin the fish is just hanging out there's no sign of aggression here comes the first beat dorsal fin didn't even move so I know in two castes already this this fish is not interested in a drop shot yet it might take a lot more work but it's the drop shot is definitely not the correct bait for this fish that's why it's very important to have a difference a line of different styles of baits so now I'm grabbing a different rod all right that was the first sign of aggression see how quickly that fish moved and nosed down on that jig that was the first cast with the jig see how different it was from the drop shot oh I already got a bite see how quickly the fish is resetting a lot more aggression or a lot more defense on a jig already so I know this fish does not like jigs Lou the dorsal fin when they're the dorsal fins up when there's not even a bait in there so I know it's close see how fast this thing's turning circles the next few casts if I get that right pop in his face I'm getting the real erratic real ha fast hoppin jig any cast now see the difference in personality or defense to that I paused it the dorsal fin game over dorsal fins up fishes swimming away taking the bait off the bed see the difference in mannerisms or temperament towards the drop-shot versus a jig mmm all right so now we got a small mouth small mouths are nice too they're usually they're just mean fish they're typically more aggressive six inch soft plastic that's actually a robo worm bright color see how it was just nipping the tail that's the downside of having a larger profile bait you know Matt when he talked about his video and trimming the skirts on jigs to get them the fish to get the hook again we're not trying to catch these fish we're trying to use this underwater footage as a tool but that is too big of a worm you set the hook on that you're gonna rip the worm off your hook fish is staying real close to home not leaving again does not like the jig was real kind of sensitive with the drop shot just nip in the back tail to wear but it does not like the jig I think this fish I go ahead and I switch to a mat lures bluegill one of the baits that we covered in a previous video and this fish specifically does not like the swimming yeah here we go it followed that bait off of the bed probably like eight to ten feet see the temperament change the aggression towards the bluegill versus a jig or the drop shot again very important to have different styles of eights creature baits drop shot small swim baits and jigs and see what your fish that you're targeting hates these fish aren't trying to eat they're just trying to defend their nest you know to spawn again unless you're in a tournament situation if you catch these fish you catch a fish of a lifetime off a bed take your picture put it back because you know this is the future of your fishery so seeing how aggressive this fish is on the big swim bait I immediately switch to the dark sleeper that Megabass small swim bait that I told you about and watch what happens on the first cast here it comes boom if you needed to put that fish in the boat checkmate game over as soon as I went to a smaller swim bait you know that larger mat lures was a little too big for this fish maybe a little too much as soon as I downsize first cast check me now we're back to largemouth doubt this fish is interesting because it could care less about the swim bait but it hated the jig [Music] I've had fish so fired up that when I go to put a camera I swim down and put a camera down there they're looking at me in the face or they're looking at the camera in the face I've had other fish as soon as you get 10 feet from the bed they swim out of sight so learn your fish obviously don't want to waste time on those fish that are swimming out of sight because they're scaredy cats and they know what's up they might have been stuck before but when you when you pull up to a sight fish and it it wants to push your boat back a good situation that's that little Ned cross so I downsized and went with a different profile a different style of bait done deal that what's funny about this fish is it's kind of like a nonchalant it just kind of comes over and just kind of sucks up the 1/10 know one one of the pinchers on the crawdad then pulls the bait in and then sucks the whole thing in and just kind of swims off you know you can see how every fish reacts different they're their speed all that stuff man I love underwater footage and every time I go back and I watch this footage and I catch little fine details that I might have missed before you can learn so much from this footage and I think the most important thing to express through this footage to show you that every fish is different they each have a specific bait or color or size profile that they absolutely hate you know some baits can be too big some baits can be too small the right or the wrong color or the right color depending on the fish personality their temperament their aggression they have to tell you which bait is gonna work the quickest and fastest come game time when you really need to put that fish in the boat say you're in a tournament or a time crunch situation but important today show you guys how to downsize when you get that fish fired up and that bass just a little too big or they they're just not getting the hook the importance of following up that bigger bluegill swim bait with a small bluegill swim bait can be the difference of not hooking that fish or fowl hook in that fish instead of putting that fish in the live well and win it in the tournament or having a fish of a lifetime you guys we're gonna continue this underwater series because there's so much to learn from it you know we're not trying to catch these fish so some of you guys in the comments section you're like all you should have set quicker we're not trying to stick them we're not even setting the hook on these fish we're trying to show you guys use this tool this underwater video as a tool to teach you guys show you guys how fish react to different stuff how they have different mannerisms and temperaments and person Aldys I think it's really cool so do you guys learn something from this video or you guys want to see more underwater footage please hit the like button remember to subscribe to our Channel we're doing three videos a week for you guys we
