HMV Mystery Box & Güd Crate 3 | Ashens

hello it's a knockout specifically a nine pound ninety nine knockout five out of ten spending management value 24.99 so i went into the mighty hmv a uh retail shop and well there's supposed to be a shop that sort of sells movies and music and stuff but they're increasingly getting filled up with a lot of pulp culture ephemera by which i mean tat and yeah i think basically they got a load of tat in and didn't have room for the old hat so we're putting it out in mystery boxes for nine pounds 99 as thus proven um five items minimum amazon value 21.99 well i would has to guess this is older stuff that's probably not going to turn up on amazon so i'm not going to do the whole oh is it actually 24.99 an amazon thing do it at home if you like because it'll probably change every couple of weeks as well go it's a minefield out there anyway let's oh let us rotate the box there we are and see exactly what we got for our 10 pounds i want at least two nice items that i would pay five pounds for each i'm not entirely sure that's going to happen though right drum roll please that was the wrong kind of drum roll it's ruined everything right let's just open up and have a look we have oh it's a mug i'm going to go for the mug first a goggle box mug what goggle box oxford mug what oh this is a oh god right if you've never heard of this tv show it's a tv show where they film people sitting around watching tv this is why digital services are taking over um yeah it's massively popular and i don't know there's humans on it and they've got heads and feet and hands and stuff look um here's two of them now reacting to a television program everyone loves a bad boy unless it's a small child that won't do as they're told then everybody's irritated or even says gogglebox on the inside well how much money is that worth to me the square root of all because um whilst mugs are useful i don't really just want a random mug for a tv show that i don't know bloody anything about so i think we'll gloss over that one and go on to the next good god there's a centaur in it this is off the front of um one of those part work things isn't it you know free binder with issue two that kind of stuff and this is eagle moss i would have said by looking at it uh yes published by eagle moss limited yeah uh well then [Applause] bloody hell solo tape um yeah it's the modern design of the sontarans who are little potato-headed aliens well i'll tell you really i think this is the one that was played by the guy who was mike the cool person in the young ones there's a deep reference for you i can't remember the actor's name that's really gonna annoy me anyway it's the centaur in general from the poison sky well if you particularly wanted a random doctor who villain it's quite nicely done the paint's quite good the only thing i would say is i don't know if you can make this at home but it looks like he's got a bogey coming out of his nose can we actually clean that yes yeah we can i've wiped a sontaran's nose who says these videos aren't a public service well fantastic i would probably give no particular money for that either but it's quite nice if you wanted that i'm going to put that on the not pile and we shall continue with whatever the hell this is socks call of duty black ops 3 atletic athletic socks black ops 3 oh they're up to four now aren't they i think at the time of uh recording i'm not sure well why would you want call of duty socks i just don't get it i don't get it shoe size eight to twelve are they gonna fit most people i suppose um let's have a peek wow socks well they're high quality socks and actually since they don't have any obvious branding on that's actually quite useful isn't it it's just a decent pair of socks there we are it's like dad's christmas fantastic right you can go to the left there oh god i can get this out of the way big bang theory you know that program that's kind of has all the beats of a comedy but no jokes in it um bazinga didn't they make a show called young sheldon which is somehow even worse i don't know um well this is a travel pass hold of your oyster card or your octopus card if you're in hong kong maybe i don't know oh got some sort of uh i've managed to slightly cut my hand which is bleeding that's bloody annoying while we're going on good it's healed already thanks to my wolverine-like blood clotting abilities the big bang theory trade doesn't even fit in the mug get in there you piece of right next up and finally up five items oh yeah i suppose that is our fifth item oh it is a blind bag teenage mutant ninja turtles mega constructs nickelodeon oh is this good or bad i don't know um if you have like a red ninja see a foot soldier in this new one or something you've got various ninja turtles you've got a ghosty ninja turtle you've got the fly who was that was a fly's name something oh something blackman or something oh that's gonna annoy me uh space space ninja with his space nunchucks what the heck and lady with a sword who looks a bit like the villain from indiana jones and the kingdom the crystal skull a film which does not exist well go on then let's open it up and uh see what joy is inside i can't get it open other than that ah here we are oh it's a fairly basic ninja turtle actually i quite approve of that here's his body oh he's got they've got tattoos now i've joined a gang or something um let's put that one in there this is going to end up i think it's quite a nice cartoony figure with a lot of articulation which you can't complain about but i mean you could but you'd be wasting your breath always got tiny little bonds and no pupils oh that's a bit spooky good god oh well fair enough uh claws for the hands does he have uh sure he used to have a mask or something that's a thing isn't it yes it's in here that's all right oh i'd be worried there for a second it was a couple of bits extra look we've got his big old raphael mask uh see it's kind of giving him eyes nopes these would be if he wasn't off camera and this diagonal dandelion let's have a look and find out they've given us the instructions for a different one so that's not good um now it is a normal belt okay it's definitely raf because he's got his two size look um the bridge of size and uh a sizing chart now there we go do his sides go at the front of the back the back today i have decided there we are and yeah put those on you have a weird claw on the other arm for i don't know ninja reasons and he's got to stand well i've seen worse and would almost certainly get worse repeatedly throughout the rest of my life so fairly middling but i'll put that on the good pile there we are so am i pleased for my ten pounds okay let's see what other ones we could have got uh i think about the nicest one actually i don't know one that one is do all that character yeah fair enough well um do you want the mug certainly don't want the travel pass holding what's the point anyway we've all got wallets and we really want this on tower and although it's quite well done um that's all right the socks ended up being my favorite item what sort of world are we living in we're socks my most favorite item well there we are well done socks we love you all so much mmm congratulations i really don't think i got my 10 quids worth there well i did in intrinsic value i suppose but not in the value that counts which is things i would actually want i suppose but i have seen a lot worse mystery boxes sold for a tenner put it that way anyway time for a jump cut yes it's time for another good crate the crate of things that are actually interesting i know i can't believe it either these are put together by my tat supplier who basically curates and indeed well just gets everything chooses it sticks in the box and sends it to me hooray for his own safety and anonymity he will be referred to as ace riker which is odd his real name is peter paragle but let's not get into that because i want to see what's in this bloody box so we as ever we start with the t-shirt which basically covers all the other items so i can't see what they are yet and it is blue i'm sure there's more to it uh excel 100 cotton that's nice um bit big for me but i could shrink it by washing it badly in fact i almost certainly will right these designs are usually pretty epic so i'm alice's this is a thing so this is going to take some explanation for the kids at home bloody hell so um in oh i'm actually going to turn on the extra light hang on boop there we are you'll be able to see the front of it better now so uh in the uk there's incredibly miserable soap opera called eastenders and in eastenders is a long-running character i think it's been since the start in the 80s called ian beale ian beale played by the actor adam woodyatt i don't know why i know that but there we are and here he is he is a long-suffering character he's a bit of a loser and a bit of a twerp there he is crying and there he is uh with what i can only describe as the world's crappest fake beard from some storyline where he was supposed to be homeless or something i don't know if you can make that out yeah that's that's the least convincing beard in beard history or beard story as we call it in the trade um i've got nothing left i think at one stage he owned the chip shop another stage he tried to use aikido and a tough guy character called phil mitchell who was sort of feuding with i don't know i really don't keep up with this but my god what a bloody design that that is a thing of absolutely zero beauty and i love it to death my god if i pull it away now it's gonna look a bit like the text at the beginning of star wars isn't it [Music] i've got nothing left amazing guess from this was a children's puppet who appeared on some morning show or something i can't remember but then was massively popular with the kids so spun off he was some sort of wannabe superstar hence roland rat superstar and i think to this day that the reason he was so popular is because he had an easily imitateable voice you could do in the playground fans also all his speech was uh punctuated by the noise [Music] oh god it's irritating in hindsight isn't it but there we are these are also those particularly 80s puffy stickers for bonus points so you could stick them on your pencil case or your school locker or the corpse of a ninja if you lived in a particularly dangerous area like feudal japan yes my god well i think the sticky's gone over the years that is a tragedy well they're going to be going on something i don't know what is yet but they're probably going to be getting on my nerves at some stage and that frankly friends is the important thing right next up oh man i've already got one of these but i'm really happy to get another one and i'll tell you for why the future of law enforcement robocop the series with m16 battle rifle just like he never had i don't think did he have that in the cartoon series i'm not familiar with that he said he'd have in the films so man special collector's card clip and save hey orion pictures logo that's the bit worth saving not the toy island logo pa i spit on the next two orion pictures corporation 1995 how many years after that robocop the film was that if i remember correctly eight anyway alex g murphy dpd id number seven eight eight yeah that's that's exactly what we needed to know his uh police id number thanks for that guys thanks was a good by the book cop he had a good life a wife a son and his job a supercop but don't spend too much uh i had to offer and an onboard computer assisted memory his internal computer does that mean he's got clippy in his head oh i see you're trying to stop a robbery can i help he was given the letter i'm repeating his internal computer includes programs which include any more abusive word include there guys robovision computer enhanced imaging a voice stress analyzer and targeting grids and minesweeper the three main directives programmed into his computer serve the public trust uphold the law protect the innocent they've got them the wrong way round now i hate this right so i've actually got one of these already on card in slightly better condition so this means i can open this one yes get in there i've never actually seen one of these out in the packet i've seen similar um figures with slightly larger ones they did earlier oh look at that they're gotta say the face is pretty bloody good going on i'm gonna turn the um for robocop we turn on the extra light um look at that the see the face is actually pretty good it's got the um entire peter willa not doing any particular emotion thing that robocop had oh look at that ah his knees bend and everything i wish he had his proper weird elongated pistol thing that always fired in triple bursts but we'll make do with this weird m16 which appears to have a shotgun on it for some reason because apparently he needs more firepower in tv than he did in the films man the detailing is great on this thing the head doesn't move which is very odd especially considering you've got elbow articulation knee but overall this is great and now that we've said robocop several times we must sing the song he is a robot he is a cop he is a robocop they shot his head in then he was dead in now he's a robocop ah such beautiful songs right you can sit there mate and be excellent stay don't care if you get called in for any crimes we're filming right next up we have uh god this is huge no it's like a oh god sorry a flurry of emotions there children um so and i mean i saw this and thought oh god it's just a brick game thing but branded monster munch and with a giant um bat monster i forget which flavor that was monster munch if you're not aware it was a flavor of crisps or potato snacks um a big sort of corn hey hang on they're not made out of potato are they what am i talking about they're corn snacks i think monster bunch like big old chunky things not quite as chunky anymore i believe um they still exist the classic flavor was roast beef i've never seen that one or i haven't seen that one for many years pickled onion are definitely still around because i saw them the other day anyway um yeah not so much trademark walker smith snack food is limited how many batteries is amount of interest three nice um this is a lot more complicated than i thought look you've got uh left right up down so you've got four directions uh down's also start level blah sound on and off we got two buttons munch and shoot what is this game what is this game this game what is right can you see there i might have to bump up the brightness down below i believe i've got a button for that yes and it barely helps it's just really over oh no that has helped fantastic so it's pac-man basically but you can shoot gotta see this start oh god it's so loud oh that's annoying right or your pac-man shoot button doesn't do anything much okay oh no it's a spooky ghost man and i can't see because the bloody reflection there we are oh god oh no sounds off now bloody hell that was a bit noisy right we should continue on in silence so do i clear the screen or do you scroll off to another one i don't know nope let's go to another one okay oh yeah look at that the shoot button doesn't seem to do anything does the munch button do anything no not particularly uh no no no oh i've got to pick up some ammo or something have i i don't rightly know go up here eat the dots right this is uh this is remarkably um sort of complicated or advanced i suppose a better way of describing it for something that was given away free if you sent off some bloody crisps or whatever um i was expecting just like a crap lcd game not an actually pretty good one i don't understand what the munch button is for that's odd nope doesn't think we do a whole lot well there we are we'll keep eating the dots because if we don't who will is there like a set size of the maze or does it just keep generating new ones forever i don't know bloody hell i can't quite get over how uh actually playable this is um yeah it's just like an early pac-man or did i just shoot that or did it disappear of its own accord that's the problem with the sound being off you see hang on i'm definitely completing more and more of these screens quickly quickly up there yes oh no i've been got by a bastard ah it's always the same story you get the idea this is pretty good i'm super impressed with this for a bloody um potato snack corn snack man i keep calling it potato the people from monster munching to come and destroy me with their evil lasers i'm sure that's how they work oh and i think i've got game over no i got the ball and gone to the next level because look the power score was still going up oh bloody hell well hang on hang on i'm going to turn this off then back out again then press the acl button so no idea what that advanced to that sort of thing i've ever seen and to come in what is basically a generic brick game case but then to have all these extra buttons and a face stuck in it that's great well done monster munch in whatever year this was made 1994. yeah that is pretty late for elsa world no tiger was still making them yeah let's not get into that right next up on the agenda of fun it is a small black furry bag interesting i hope it's got the infinity gems in it no it's got almost two things actually hang on look at that one in a second stranger i seriously turn down the brightness of this now setting but obviously made with a more modern uh design aesthetic etc it's pretty good and very very popular oh what was the other thing oh my god it's an atari lynx badge still in the bag you don't see that very often so i've got an extensive atari links collection and a lot of them did come with these little badges this one for welcome stan runner yep stun runner the lynx version that is astonishing by the way um yeah let's look at that into the screen arcady racy game that's great i've got very few of these i wonder if anyone's got a set i couldn't there must be somewhere on the inside even tells you which ones you need and which ones you've got and which ones were produced and all that kind of stuff um that's really really cool right that's going to one side look after it robocop you've got your m16 blow away any potential thieves as we look at the thing i was avoiding because it's in a massive box it's oh wait hang on hang on a copy of resident evil for the game boy i stewart yes anyway let's take advantage of this while i have it because it's got a nice backlit screen and stuff oh yeah not nintendo the cartridge anyway and go on go on start the game start the game no it doesn't like it there's original hardware except the screen of the case obviously so uh what's going on there let's try it again the suspense no it's not accepting it it don't like it all right we'll give that one more go the cartridge looks all right but i mean that doesn't mean a whole lot does it and push it in as hard as i can switch it on and and and there's a word i'm repeating no it doesn't like it right we are now going to say jump cut and i'm going to go and grab another couple of machines that play game boy couches and we'll try but to be honest if it ain't working in this i don't think it's going to be working on anything so i went and got my modded game boy and my game boy light was my preferred way of playing the game boy games and you know what it's suddenly recurred to me the resident evil game for game boy was game boy color wasn't it look it even says gbc on the bloody thing i just saw the design of the cartridge almost went the color of the cartridge and just thought oh game boy no it is a bloody um game by color game isn't it unfortunately i uh modded my game boy color the other week with a nice screen you can actually clearly see on camera so that was handy wasn't it um less handy is i've been trying to get this to work on machines which couldn't bloody play it deary me right in you go this isn't the right cover neither is it because if i remember the resident evil game for game boy color was called something like resident evil gaiden or something it was like a top-down thing had different art i don't know we're about to find out ready steady them again with it get on with it don't care never liked resident evil i must be honest hated the controls back in the day played it up to the point where you go back into the match and suddenly they're a green frog man you can instantly cut your head off and i was like yeah i think that's enough of that for me i should totally go back and play the fourth at some point though apparently that's really good oh shut up whisker you whining whining toad um yeah well this is interesting that's why they're selling these knock-off cartridges isn't it because there's no such thing as a real got to be really oh some quite nice bits and bobs i'm going to flick through it now so i'm extremely aware that this video has gone on forever um what the hell was that hang on flash back up what is that magic castle bedtime story theater watch and hear stories on ceiling or magic screen oh bloody hell so you've got like audio cassettes that go in it or magic castle software even so it tells you a story whilst projecting it on the ceiling that's cool that's that's pretty impressive i'd be interested to see one of those for about four minutes then i would be bored of it because that's the way the world works um that is amazing what is that night's track radio controlled car that's not a car that's like something batman wishes he had that's amazing uh ultra cliff oh yeah oh that's the stuff trouble i should know i sell them all the time robocop seriously not now no no not when the cameras are here there's a there's an optimus prime i've never seen it's like the original optimus prime but it's got a really ugly ostentatious trailer uh all the bits inside are purple and it's guns sort of shoot missiles i am not aware of that i also didn't know there was ever a robocop figure where you well getting fairly standard stuff now weird pop star set that's nice um belly nickelodeon belly bumper don't even want to know what that is no i shall rest in uh complete ignorance what the hell a billy bumper is although i think unfortunately i've worked out from the picture on the front it didn't look particularly complicated right what games we got mario is missing yoshi safari mario is dead that to build well i suppose technically it's a real safe just not very good one fort knox heavy gauge steel safe protects your small treasures ah hang on does that mean is that like does that mean television that's just an extra bit like the grundy new brain bloody hell 10 points if you've ever heard of one of those before ah that's interesting so it's kind of like a proper computer i do love it when the battery runs out about a minute before the end of the bloody video so tiger handheld games the lcd monstrosities which all had one thing in common they were no fun to play what so bloody ever but they were like the funko pop of their day they had the licenses for everything if any film or media franchise of any type existed there was a bloody tiger version of it look you've got jurassic park there in the uh black plastic and the white plastic you've got this generic super bowl and also street fighter 2. i've played that it's even worse than you'd think um you've got the girl flavored ones where they sort of made them pink and square look heart-shaped buttons on that one uh snow white and the seven dwarves aladdin beauty and the beast sonic two because if you want the illusion of incredible speed in your video games you want an lcd screen obviously and home alone too unbelievably why were there so many games of that bloody thing ah i've got virtua fighter downstairs which is in the black plastic and is also shite but you know tiger games and we'll leave looking at the 2xl robot he looks like he's having a right strop he looks like he's specifically said look can you do the washing up while i'm out he's come back and you haven't done the washing up and he's about to put in his tape of extreme bollocking and play it for three hours on an auto reverse loop yes well there you are folks that is a box full of exciting stuffs my personal favorite uh probably the dinosaur because it's a monstrosity which should not exist and so is this channel
