whether you like your wiener wrapped in bacon covered in chili topped with kimchi or super-sized and smothered in slaw hmm absolutely delicious we're taking you to the most delectable dog houses across the country like I'm in heaven right now these dogs are badass get ready for another ride on the Wienermobile because it's time for hot dog paradise - the missing links hot dogs are as American as baseball apple pie and the fourth of July and we consumed more than 21 million wieners each year at ballparks alone but whether you call them frankfurters Red Hots links or wieners we've never been hungrier for the hotdog they're quick they're easy they're filling they're great to taste hot dogs are awesome it's just a staple of America you know you go to a ballgame you have a hot dog it's just fantastic it's tasty it's delicious how can you not like it our pursuit of hot dog paradise kicks off in the tiny town of Lee sage just outside of Huntington West Virginia nestled on the east side of the Ohio River are a few humble ramshackle structures that barely hint to the paradise within yep we're in the heart of hillbilly country at its hidden gem hillbilly hot dogs I traveled 200 miles to get to this messy hot dog the bay of thought dog I'll have every I love he'll many hot dogs and here's to you but inside this rustic roadside Shack you'll find the home wrecker an epic weenie of waste expanding proportions that's a big hot dog but it's fun to watch it's one pound all beef equivalent of ten of our other weenies and it's three and a half pounds when it's done buuuut this monster hotdog is 15 inches long and 2 inches in diameter with 12 towering toppings it takes manpower to wrestle together this mega weenie we're gonna take this weenie all be weenie I'm gonna put it in the warmer hit the plump but usually take out a bun put it on the grill all right now we're going to take this homewrecker deep frying this for about 2 minutes gives it that crunch that we're looking for we just put our garlic sautéed peppers and onions on the grill get those nice and sauteed up as our home wreckers over here cooking can we grab our homewrecker gently place that on there spreading the bun out so we can get all our condiments in there nicely there's our homemade habanero phenomenally hot nacho cheese jalapenos wild onions and piping hot chili are also piled on this Weiner wonder you can have a hot dog without some slaw all right now we had our tomatoes as I say I hear mater's last but not least we gotta add our shredded once this gastronomic Goliath is ready to go there's only one thing you can say for those who are ravenous or downright off their rocker they can compete in the homewrecker challenge if they can finish this Frankenweenie in less than 12 minutes they'll win a t-shirt and if they beat the current record holder they'll eat for free it's not a pretty sight cause you know his hands you know now so Ron Clark is the current champion coming in at a heart-stopping two minutes 48 seconds and today challenger Rob scoffer is hoping to top his time okay you have to clear your plate clear the plate in the belly in the mouth if you cannot scoop it to the floor you cannot pass along here Jenny you have to consume it okay I'm feeling pretty good right now pretty full I'm as happy I meet the champ oh my fool I feel beaten now that's how you handle a homewrecker but if you're looking for something under three and a half pounds try the egg dog taco dog pepperoni dog junkyard dog Buckeye dog or nacho dog from their mind-boggling menu and if you're lucky you could end up in the hillbilly history books I am honored to have a dog named after me we stopped the train here to get a hot dog that's how we have a Snuffy's it's like getting golden dog sauce mustard onions follows me hillbilly hot dogs Eenie meaty menu is the main attraction in this wienie shack but customers also love its hoedown charm the back dining room is built out of two Church buses napkins are doled out from toilet paper rolls and the owners even welcome their diners to draw on the walls I love this place it's probably the most entertaining place to eat in West Virginia the vibe here is just laid-back your country I mean everybody can just be their self here you can come here in your pajamas hillbilly hot dogs may be out in the boonies but for lots of linq lovers it's not just work the trek it's even worth singing about anyway I don't weigh your night
