HERMES SPEEDTAIL FIRST DRIVE! || Manny Khoshbin

hi guys welcome back to my channel today is the day i'm picking up my sweet tail i couldn't pick it up monday that to you know use the toothbrush and the butter of soap to get rid of some of those uh spots a no joke hermes sent them a bar of soap and a toothbrush anyhow and also they were doing some adjustments to the car but the car is ready we're gonna go pick it up but not before i put my space suit on because hey it's a spaceship uh no joke this car you're gonna have to go in with a full-on suit and booties and gloves and nate don't think you're getting away with it i got one for you too all right let's get on with it you know what wow oh no i shouldn't shake your hand you may leave marks i'm just kidding i got even booties to go over these because i already walked with these and it got dirty well i'm paranoid after all the spots you told me i mean i appreciate it i hope that this is not how you're going to dress all the time like when you go to like masters i mean this is no well if i take this car i'm definitely wearing it you know past suit you're closing i'm nice enough i think you'll be okay even a white cotton towel or something would be appropriate this is maybe a fashion statement oh thank you i appreciate it that's a compliment well come on show my baby i've been waiting for three years for [Music] this [Music] this thing's so white okay so what's the proper way of getting in so what i would say is um i have some fabric we should lay down yeah um but usually what i'll do is i'll sit on this part right here and kind of get my foot over and then i'll just kind of bring myself over into the center piece it's really not difficult to do so um okay well let me get a piece of uh i got some cotton to lay down oh i need to do more yoga oh i can stretch you're gonna fall in your car yeah you know feel like a teletubby so one thing i'll tell you [Laughter] i mean honestly this is epic the leather is extremely soft because this is not automotive leather it's not going to withstand a lot of things that automotive leather will so this is like a handbag it's going to patina over time mm-hmm so over time you will start seeing little marks and licks yeah which is fine but your soft cotton gloves that you have just by taking it and rubbing on it it usually makes everything disappear so yeah so you'll notice getting in on the car you may see something you literally just take your glove and you can just rub on it and it'll disappear what in first whoa this is so weird look at this lcd that's pretty cool wow so weird it's like a giant eagle the visibility is really nice in the car you got this big huge windscreen in front of you and then you got these five screens which makes you feel like you're like you're gonna notice that you got two more over here yeah so these are touch screen here yeah and on that side that side is gonna be for navigation ambient lighting this side will be more for like your multimedia telephone and music on this side and then you have volume knobs and control knobs on the side and then you have different settings and stuff and then your main display up here which will be very similar to the display that we've seen yeah and this is very climate control all right and where is the left that's the most important one down here no right here just like just like what we had on your center yeah yeah yeah yeah button that you just have to press the button just just okay okay that's it raising no problem okay so underneath here you have um these storage compartments you have to press firmly again because this is a much different leather yeah and these for myself and then you can slide your cell phone you have one on each side the leather is absolutely gorgeous unbelievable yeah and you see all this vintage this white cotton that kind of outlines everything you can change the all the tinting of the glass yeah all the glass above you get out because you don't have sun visors in this car so no flipping the sun visor down if you yeah you can tint the glass so it's all electrochromic glass get out um and that's all controlled with the screen on the left you can change the opaqueness of it and that'll be all the glass above the passengers as well is your porthole up here yep so just like all mclarens you have uh an active button yeah active dynamics panel so on the left side you'll see you have your handling modes and on the right side you have your powertrain settings so you have a comfort and a sport setting yep you can adjust those on the fly and what's this blue weapon velocity mode so that's like top speed that's your that's your uh basically race mode so that's if you want to go yeah essentially it's a race mode where they're actually reducing the level of drag on the car so that you can be more slippery and straight straight line speed awesome and then up top here you have uh door open and close and windows and these cars like like your center has a ticket window but that way you can operate it or your passengers can operate it and then you have these handhelds right here to help pull yourself out of the car now you tell me i was pulling i was waiting for a rope or something to hang on to my first ride in my sweet tail is going to be as a passenger i could watch him drive it out but i'd rather experience a passenger for you only if i could smile bigger alright guys see you later this car feels weird [Music] well it's amazing how much visibility you have though it's glass all over around you and then you got two bigger screens this definitely will take some time getting used to so weird i have to be in the center of the road i wonder how long it's going to take you to get used to it i don't know what i'm worried about is when i drive my other cars if i get used to driving in the middle of the road [Music] literally sideways what it's so fast but you don't feel it it's so smooth crazy to think you've waited three years for this moment yeah oh my god wow this brown leather i can't get over it look at look how cool so vintage yet elegant every detail about this car is really in an art form even down here it's crazy the car is so delicate i'm scared to go fast it is so weird guys with no sight matters and i'm looking at two ipad size screens definitely gets time to get used to know where your limits are on the sides [Music] you are kidding me oh my god it just never stops i'm telling you the acceleration is crazy literally feels like you're flying wow you know what's the biggest difference between this and a p1 a p1 it scares you when you're taking off this is faster than p1 but yet you don't realize you're going so fast so you literally are not scared wow wow now where is my rear view mirror well i guess you would see on your sides but if there's a cop right behind you i'm not saying there is but if there was one because i'll be spinning i don't speed i'm just saying wow honestly this the biggest wow factor on this car is the driving experience in the middle of the road it just [Music] mind says you know correct you're staring to the side but you're literally sitting in the middle of the road so weird you don't even feel the length of the car when you're driving it or even when you turn all right guys this is fast very fast wow look at this wow that is right looks like i gotta make room for the new eagle in the nest [Music] this is gonna take some time to get used to this car is literally in a spaceship i'm so excited to get to know it but i need to go calm down i got too much energy pumped into my body
