God Conscious part 1 | Chad Gonzales

[Music] i mean i'm thankful for where i'm at i'm thankful for the things i've experienced but it's really it's really left me still dissatisfied with where i'm at and i want to go further and i want to i want to know more and so if you have your bible i want you to look at a statement jesus makes here in john chapter 17. john chapter 17 jesus he's in the garden of gethsemane and he's praying he's about to turn himself over to the the army in john chapter 17 verse 3 jesus makes this statement he said this is eternal life that they would know you know you the father the only true god in jesus christ whom you have sent he said this is what eternal life is now if you listen to most christians if we are in most churches if we look at modern christianum today we're told that eternal life is getting saved and going to heaven that eternal life that this christian life this christian experience it's about going to heaven it's about living a good life it's about trying to do good things you know if you go to certain certain churches or certain places it's about you know memorizing more scripture right it's about you know going to church and and beginning to volunteer and serve and those are the type of things that we do to people when they first receive jesus as their savior i mean the first thing we do is we start getting them plugged in in church and we start showing them how to read their bible and we start showing them you know how you need to serve and volunteer you need to give and you need to do all these things and outreach and stuff and those are good things and they're things we should be doing we should be going to church we should be reading our bible we should spend time uh praising and worshiping god we should spend time in prayer but jesus did not say that eternal life is getting plugged into church and reading your bible and praying and this and that he didn't say that jesus said eternal life is putting you in a position that you can know god and yet this isn't about knowing god and knowing facts this is about knowing him intimately knowing him intimately not just knowing about somebody there's plenty of people i mean we could use like president trump right now for an example how many of you can honestly say you know trump i mean i'd like to say i do but i don't i know about him some things i know about him they may be true might be not be true i don't know because what i've heard from the media so you never know what's what's true there you know but i mean there's some things that we do know about him uh things that he said out of his mouth or maybe some things his wife has said or kid said some things that we've seen on him from tv and his business dealings we know that he's a businessman we know he's got a whole lot of money right we know some things about it we know that he obviously tends yeah he goes headed bed i mean he's told us that here that's his real hair i mean there's some things we know about it but we don't know him there ain't anybody here that knows him and unfortunately that's the way the vast majority of christians are when it comes to god there's things we can tell you about him but i mean don't raise your hands but i mean how many how many of us can honestly say i know god because in all reality i mean if you haven't actually had a conversation with someone you talk to them they talk to you whether it was on the phone or by text or you know in person having lunch i mean you can't really say you know the person and then we also know that there's varying levels of degrees of knowing somebody right i mean there's some of you that's been here and i've known you for several years and you and i we know each other a whole lot better than maybe the person who came in here for the first day right or maybe been here for a couple months why because of intimacy because of relationship because of fellowship because of spending time with one another but jesus said true eternal life this was the purpose of eternal life was to put you in a position where you could know god intimately it's interesting that this word this word no here again it's not about facts it's not about just knowing information it's literally talking about experiences it's talking about being aware of god or you could say being conscious of god knowing him this isn't about facts and yet most christians when it comes to the things of god really all we do is we know facts and when it comes to things of god i mean maybe we can tell each other a couple of scriptures or something but i mean don't raise your hand but i mean how many of you have had like a legitimate encounter with god i mean legitimate not this thing of you know i was driving down the road and i think maybe god told me to do something i mean an undeniable encounter experience you experienced him you encountered him and yet for for many of us who have those those times those situations those encounters have been very few and far between and that's why you have a lot of christians uh especially those from back in the day where we were seeing lots of encounters and experiences and manifestations and a lot of christians from back in those days they want to talk about the good old days because of those things that happened back then but in all reality our relationship with god isn't supposed to be about things that happened back then it's supposed to be what happened today in reality we should have already had some encounters with god today so jesus said eternal life is what not just going to heaven not just being a good little christian not going to church not just reading your bible not just servanting in church no he said eternal life is what is knowing god experientially being conscious of him being aware of him knowing him intimately let me show you this other statement that jesus made the first time i saw this and it really hit me i mean it's one of these that makes your mind just go tilt and and the point i got in my life when i really started seeing my my relationship with god and the encounters with god begin to really take off and not that i've arrived by any means because the more that i think that i've arrived the less i realize i have but i want you to make us i want you to see a statement jesus makes here in john chapter 10. john chapter 10 and look at verse 15. and i want you to read this and in remembrance of the fact that jesus is doing life like you i always bring this up as a reminder that jesus when you look at jesus you have to remember jesus yes he was a son of god but we also know according to philippians chapter 2 he laid aside everything that gave himself an advantage in life he lay aside you could say his his deity so to speak yes he was 100 god 100 man but doing life as a man anointed by god he was doing life like you and i with a body a brain soul emotions like you and i he was healing the sick like you and i raising the dead like you and i walking on the water like you and i everything he did was doing it just like you notice the statement jesus says in john chapter 10 and verse 15 he said as the father knows me even so i know the father first time i looked at that and saw that i mean really saw that and consider that i mean it was one of these oh my god because i was looking at it from the standpoint of jesus is saying this from the very same position that i'm in jesus said in the very way the father knows me the very way that the father experiences me i experience him now i'll be honest i'm not there yet now notice i said yeah i'm working on it i'm not there yet but the the wonderful reality of these type of statements that jesus makes is it sets the bar for me number one it sets the standard it sets the bar and it shows me what's possible it shows me what's possible and if you have even the slightest amount of hunger on the inside of you for the things of god it ought to stir you up on the inside and say man i want that i'll never forget when i was going to rhema i was at school at rhema and kenneth hagin he was still alive it was actually his very last year that he was alive on the earth and i remember it was our last class with him and he was he was in the they called it rooker memorial auditorium and and he was ministering as our second year class we were in there so when he taught the entire class would be there and he made this statement he was talking about knowing god and he was 86 years old and i remember he made this statement and he said at this point in my life god's more real to me than my wife who sleeps in bed next to me i was 26 years old i mean i can tell you where i was sitting in that in that building there's a couple of big square columns throughout the auditorium and i was sitting right next to one of those columns and and these white plastic chairs and i remember i was taking some notes when he said that i sat up and i started thinking hmm i've never heard anybody make a statement like that that god's more real to me than my wife who sleeps next to me and i began to think about can god be that real because if you think about the christianity that we've bought into in many many ways if we're just honest it kind of sucks i say that kind of harsh on purpose because if you think about it let's just be real friends if you've got a christian who's quoting scripture and you've got a muslim who's quoting the quran how many christians can actually back up the scripture that they're quoting and if they can't back it up if they can't manifest god then who's to say which one is right and which one's wrong and what you're left with is a bunch of people debating over what's true and what's not friend you'll never find jesus debating on whether he what he said was true or not you don't know what he did he said if i do not manifest the works of god don't believe anything that i say and yet we've got most christians today that can't even get their prayers answered i just think about this this is the christianity that we've kind of settled into but at some point we got to start rocking the boat because jesus said there is a level of this life that we call a christian a child of god a son of god where i mean you can know god and he said in the same way that he knows me experiences me and counters me i can have that very same experience with him let me put it to you like this and we'll get more into this this piece probably next week but i'm just i'm giving you some shock factor statements i want you to think and i want you to get dissatisfied with where you're at because this is the reason we've got such a lull in church them today just such a low people don't really care anymore if i go to church if i don't go to church it's not a big deal i mean if i prayed and i didn't get my prayers answered well you know not a big deal it is a big deal jesus actually acted like and thought that you know he said if you use my name i'll do it if you pray it's a done deal when you pray god hears you it's done it's the way jesus acted jesus expected his prayers again to answer you know we go around live and we make statements like this well brother i'm believing god but i'm just so scared what that doesn't go together how you believe god but i'm scared well brother you know i'm just i'm just standing and waiting for you know this healing to manifest whoa who said god was holding out see we've come up with all these things because we we know it things aren't right but we've come up with all these statements and all these these religious beliefs to make ourselves feel better because if we're really really honest if we really check our spirit on the inside which our spirit is always constantly united with god if we check our spirit on the inside there's something that rubs wrong when we make these type of statements and we live this type of life acting like these things are just normal these things are not normal for the christian we've bought into this pseudo-christianity in a lot of ways but if you keep your eyes on jesus and what jesus actually says we are selling ourselves far short jesus said this is eternal life to know him he says the father knows me i know him and jesus was doing life like who us so jesus is doing life like us that means that's possible it's possible so that means if it's possible that means you and i have to get hungry enough to actually go after it all right so we'll work on it turn over genesis chapter three let's look at a couple of things so we made some statements there some kind of some bold statements brash statements but i want you to go back and we're going to look at some old testament folks because the reason i like to look at a lot of these guys and gals in the old testament is because it's always important remember these folks weren't saved they were not united with god they were not righteous with god they they did not have this good position with the father like you and i have they were not saved filled with the holy ghost they didn't have a church they didn't have a bible and yet if you look at many of these folks that we read about in the old testament the encounters that they had with god blows many of our encounters out of the water come on guys i'm talking we're talking about guys like elijah who actually thought he could call fire out of heaven and did a guy like elijah who took off his his mantle his cloak which represented the anointing went and slapped a river so it would divide he could walk across it dry dude wasn't saved so let's look at adam and eve many of you know adam and eve in genesis chapter 3 genesis chapter 3 we see this is where satan comes and he comes to to tempt them and deceive them in verse six he's talking to eve it says the eve saw the tree was it was good for food remember god told him don't eat of it if you do that you'll die and when god said you'll die what was he talking about a physical death or a spiritual death he's talking about a spiritual death that you would die spiritually so to be dead spiritually means you're separated you're cut off from god no more relationship no more fellowship there so to speak remember in genesis chapter 2 verse 7 that god he he put himself but his life his spirit in the man man became alive so you see this wonderful constant union and fellowship with god but in genesis chapter 3 verse 6 and 7 it says that they they ate of the fruit they sin verse 7 it says the eyes of both of them were open and they knew that they were naked and they sowed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings notice it wasn't until they sin that they became more conscious of themselves their body natural things than they did spiritual things and we're going to get in this real heavily next week too notice it wasn't until sin showed up that their awareness of physical things came into being so that ought to give you a clue right there the more aware i am of physical stuff the more in tune i am with physical stuff the lesson tuner less aware or less conscious i am going to be of god it says when they sin they realize they were naked they made close to themselves cover themselves up and notice in verse 8 it says they heard the sound of the lord god walking in the garden in the cool of the day adam and his wife they hid themselves from the presence of the lord among the trees of the garden we see here that god before this i mean god had been coming down and spending time with adam and eve walking with them and talking with them obviously adam and eve they could see him and they could hear him right this was this was god's right here this was his original plan for mankind notice that when god created adam and eve and he put his life on the inside of him when he created him he did not start giving them a list of rules and things notice he didn't he didn't write down a bible and give him a bible and say i want you to learn all these scriptures isn't it interesting that when god created mankind that when he made him for fellowship that this this christianity so to speak it wasn't about knowing enough scriptures and it wasn't about going and doing enough good things it was about knowing god amen let me say it to you like this that this new life that god had created in mankind it wasn't about trying to be good it wasn't about trying to do good things it wasn't trying to to be a good christian it was about knowing god it was about living alive every day where i see him and i hear him and i know him and i'm conscious of him amen that was life that was life and yet when adam sinned then things drastically began to change and i mean it began to change bad and it started to tank and go downhill really really quick and yet isn't it interesting right here by verse 8 we know that adam and eve have sinned and even after they've sinned even after they have died spiritually so at this point you and i are in a far greater position with god than they were and yet even in their spiritual death sentence there they still hear god when god shows up in the garden they still recognize the presence of god when he showed up you could say it like this that even in their sinful state being a sinner now they are still very conscious of the presence of god so much so they thought they could actually hide from it get it brother hagin he used to say it like this he said most christians wouldn't recognize the holy ghost if he walked down the middle eye with a red hat on and yet adam and eve even in their sinful state they were so conscious so aware of the presence of god that they saw him as a sinner they saw him they heard him think about this they didn't even hear his words first they just heard him walking through the garden they heard the sound of god's feet rustling through the grass you talk about being very keen keenly sensitive on the spiritual side of things to the point they saw they still saw him they still heard him and they were so conscious of his presence they thought they could actually hide from it get away from it how many of you ever heard of the azusa street revival so there's a fabulous fabulous book i would highly recommend you get it you're not gonna be able to find it in a bookstore most bookstores you know most christian bookstores think it's a little too crazy so they ain't going to sell it but there's a book called they told their stories and the zeus street revival took place in the early 1900s around 1906 1906-1910 and there's a book called they told their stories i'm telling you you got to get it if you go on amazon you can find it it's called they told their stories and most people when it comes to the azusa street most people know about william seymour and he he was the the preacher who was heading this thing up and we hear about the miracles and things that happened but the thing that you find out about in this book is that what was taking place is there was a bunch of teenagers teenagers kids in the young 20s and before the service would start people that were sick people that were diseased people that were missing limbs people that were missing eyes i mean crazy stuff they were coming in and the teenagers and the young people were laying hands and ministering to these people and getting them healed before william seymour even came out i'm talking about people who had no teeth and new teeth would grow in and yet it wouldn't just be a regular bone it'd be a gold tooth people who had no eye in the eye socket and the eyeball would would be created through teenagers and yet in these meetings this went on for about four years and what i wanted to get to as far as this morning is that they told that there were so many times that in these services that the glory of god would be manifest in in the in the form of a cloud in these services and it would be so thick that the children in the services would actually play hide and go seek in it while the man was ministering and people were getting healed now we've done that on youth nights and we've had the fog machines going in here and we were hiding behind the chairs and pegging the kids you know with with the nerf guns but eyewitnesses said these kids are telling me stories they said i remember the cloud being in the room in different spots and it being so thick we would actually hide behind it playing hide and go seek in the service you talk about the presence of god being very tangible and being very real and yet it's interesting to me that you have you have situations like that happen but even here in the bible we see adam and eve they're sinners and yet still hearing still seeing still experiencing still encountering very much conscious still of the presence of god and then you get on down to you know when they had some children they had cain and abel and cain and abel now they're second generation sinners right second generation sinners they weren't in the garden they weren't there with god when he was walking in the cool of the day with their mom and dad they're second generation sinners and yet even cain a second generation sinner he's still hearing from god in complete sentences and yet he never he never he never walked in the garden with god and yet god begins to speak to him and warn him about the tempter who's sitting there and trying to get him to do something and god warns him and cain not only uh hears but he responds and then hears again in complete sentences it wasn't a word from the lord it was a conversation and then after cain kills his brother so now he's a second generation murdering sinner god speaks to him and he hears it again incomplete sentences the wonderful thing about this shows us that number one you and i as a christian you and i as a born-again child of god united with him as jesus is so are we and that god the very same way he looks at jesus is the very same way he looks at you because of the grace of jesus and everything he provided for us there's nothing standing in our way and yet if a if a second generation murdering sinner could hear from god in complete sentences how much more so can you and i how much more so and yet when's the last time you heard you heard people talk about that hearing from god i mean hear from god completes it yeah let's put it to you like this you and i we are spirit beings jesus said this in john chapter four he said god is a spirit and those that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth if god is a spirit and you and i we are a spirit if you didn't know that you're not a body i mean you may look in the mirror and think that you are very very sexy very very good looking and despite how good looking you are this is not you you're a spirit you have a soul which is your motions in your mind and this is just the house that you live in but the problem is is that we are more in tune with this we're more in tune with a house than who we are and this is why so many of us have such a hard time hearing from god and experiencing god because we're more in tune with this than we that we are with spiritual things and our spirit and yet in all reality because god is a spirit and you and i are a spirit i want you to think about this because god is a spirit and you and i are a spirit it should be more natural and it should be more normal for us to hear from god than for you to hear a dog bark let me put it to you from from this standpoint it should be more natural for you to encounter god as a spirit than it is for your body to feel the clothes rub against your skin friend i'm telling you there is so much more to this life of being a christian than what we have allowed ourselves to buy into we've sold ourselves short remember jesus made the comment he said eternal life is to know him experientially to be aware of him conscious of him he said as the father knows me i know him and yet sadly we've allowed the people in the old testament to blow us out of the way and their encounters and experiences with god 99.999 percent of christians today haven't even come close to the encounters with god that the people in the old testament who were sinners living under a a a bull and goat covenant very aware of their sinful state and everything that they could not do do right and do do enough to get good enough with god they were scared out of their their mindless mind of god when when moses said god's going to come down and talk to you and the mountain began to thunder in the rumble and they said no no no you go talk to them and yet these same people i mean encounter after encounter after encounter and very very conscious of god and yet we have christians today who go to church and and maybe they read their bible every once in a while and maybe every once in a while they'll listen to something on the radio or put on something by hill song or something like that and and we come just a little bit conscious of god for a second and then we go on through our life and we just keep going through the motions and yet god isn't wanting us to go through the motions this christian life was not about just being stuck to this i'ma say something here don't think i'm being sacrilegious and don't kick me out okay but your christian life was not just to be solely based on this let me put it to you like this this has become more of a god to us than the god who lives on the inside of us now i know i mean we stand up here and say this is my bible this is the word of god this is god speaking unto me and i believe that i mean we're not just saying that just to say it but what i'm getting trying to get across to you is that we have more trust in this than the person that lives on the inside who spoke these words into existence this is why when it comes to the the storms of life and the circumstances of life many of us are sitting here and we've got our scripture and we're quoting it and quoting it and quoting it and quoting it and quoting it and quoting it and quoting it thinking that we're doing something and and and our faith is more so in the in the word that it is the person you know there's a fabulous statement jesus makes and again this was one of these ones i saw it and i was like oh my goodness he's standing before pontius pilate you know he's already been arrested at this point he's standing before pilate and pilate's talking to him and jesus isn't responding he's just standing there looking at him and pilate looks at jesus and he said don't you realize who i am he said i've got the power to release you and i've got the power to crucify you why won't you respond to me and jesus i mean you talk about a man's man jesus is sitting there cuffed he's already been beat and he's standing before a man who legally in physical realm legally has authority to crucify him kill him and jesus looks at the man with all boldness and he's not making some faith statement like many of us are doing he's not making some faith statement jesus is making a statement based on reality on heavenly facts and he looks at pilate and says you have no authority to take my life unless the father above gives it to you he said because i have it on command from my father that no man can take my life unless i lay it down he said i have this command from my father that i can lay my life down and i can take it back again amen i mean just can you imagine standing before someone i mean they got the legal right to kill you to put you down and you look at them right in the face and say you can't touch me and i'm not talking about you trying to be a big shot i mean you know beyond the shadow of a doubt because of your your consciousness of god and who you are and where you're from this is the same jesus who said in john chapter 3 and verse 13. he said i came from heaven i'm going back to heaven but it's where i'm living from right now even though jesus is standing on the earth and his dirty little sandals in his little robe he said i may be here but i'm living from somewhere else there was a consciousness and an awareness of god with jesus that far exceeded anything that jesus saw heard felt tasted with these five physical senses you got to understand that yes we got these five physical senses but you also have five spiritual senses isn't it interesting that jesus when he's telling the story about lazarus and the rich man when they died and lazarus was in uh paradise and the rich man was in hell and isn't it interesting as jesus is telling this real story about two real men a very real experience and as the rich man is talking he he said abraham give me some water that could touch the tip of my tongue so obviously in the spiritual side he still had spiritual taste and he had spiritual eyes there is spiritual knowledge and understanding there are spiritual eyes and then abraham responds and he hears you got spiritual ears see you've got spiritual senses why because you are a you're a spirit and yet the problem is is that from the day that we were born into this world we've been taught about our physical senses and we've been taught how to walk by sight and yet god's trying to get us to walk by faith and yet walking by faith is not just my eyes closed and i'm stumbling along and hoping i get there no walking by faith literally is walking by your spiritual senses i know this is kind of kind of a little deep for some of you but i mean like let's go further but at some point walking by faith is walking by our spiritual senses in other words walking by the things that i can't see with my physical eyes but i can see with my spiritual eyes walking not according to the things i hear with my physical ears but walking according to the things that i hear with my spiritual ears jesus made this statement and john here want to turn over there john chapter 5. hurry real quick today i'm just i'm just giving you some things just to get you thinking i want you to think and inspire you and create and stir up a hunger on the inside of you that hey maybe there's more to this this life as a christian than what i've been told maybe there's more to this life as a christian than what i thought was available maybe maybe there's more to this life as a christian than than me just trying to be a good person and me trying to to memorize more scriptures and and do all these good things which i should be doing but but maybe there's more maybe maybe there's actual experiences and encounters with god that i could have that the god who knows me that i could actually know him john chapter 5 look what jesus says here in verse 19. jesus said most assuredly i say to you the son can do nothing of himself notice this phrase but what he sees the father do he said i can't do anything but what i see the father do for whatever the father does then i do that in like manner and the father he loves the son and shows them all things that he himself does and he will show him even greater things than these just so you can marvel and go wow how many of you have maybe heard heard a message in your life or heard someone teach about hearing from god well when's the last time you ever heard a preacher get bold enough and talk about seeing from god very few and far between if ever i remember the first time i started talking about this i mean i got nervous about it because i've never really heard too many people talk about it except one guy his name was kenneth hagin but then the more i began to look at jesus and realize jesus was doing a life like me i began to ask myself why am i selling myself short you mean you could see from god apparently you can now if this was anybody other than jesus i would have thought they're whacked they were smoking something but jesus said i only do what i see my father do and i only say what i hear my father say you mean i could see and hear from god according to jesus yes well how's that possible that just seems a little weird hey if it seems weird to you great most people think you're weird anyway why not have some encounters with god isn't it interesting that jesus always had success jesus always got his prayers answered every time he laid hands on the sick every single time every single time they always got healed they always got healed jesus was walking in such a degree of consciousness of god it did not matter the time it did not matter the place it didn't matter if he was tired it didn't matter if he'd been up all night it didn't matter if the person was crippled if they were blind if they were deaf if they were dead such a consciousness of god he can manifest god at will and yet you talk about these things like this and people christians ministers spirit-filled word faith people want to look at you and tell you you better watch it you're getting a little far off i've had them tell me that to my face the chad look i understand i appreciate your zeal i appreciate your hunger but you know you don't want to get off sounds like me brother you got off a long time ago you say you know what i ain't going any further with god i'm getting off i've had people that i know love me trying to encourage me but you know what that doesn't encourage me that tells me hey you might be getting a little off there but i'm not satisfied with where i'm at and the problem is is that when you do have some of these encounters ain't nobody can ever tell you it's not available i've got a couple of them if i told you about them you might be calling the nut house on me but i found this to be true that every encounter with god as an invitation for another one every time he manifests himself to you it's not so you can live on that for the next 50 years and tell everybody about the good old days and when you get together you tell them about this one time that you heard from god or this one time that god showed you something that's not what those are for it's an imitation of your father who created you for fellowship not just to try to live a good life and memorize a bunch of scripture a god who created you for fellowship that he could fellowship with you and you could fellowship with him in the very same way in the very same way in the very same way so that after you have one he can say come on a little bit further let's go come on a little bit further let's go let's have another one i remember i was talking about my friend jim hockaday not not too long ago and i was telling about this experience i had back in 2005 and most now most christians would have a problem with this and the fact that i mean legit experience i mean phenomenal like changed my life like saw some stuff and experience things and like i mean it made me who i am today because of this i was talking to him about it and it was just one of these things i mean i can close my eyes and i can see it and i began to think about it began to experience some things and i was telling him about it and and i like jim for this reason i mean he's a good friend but he's just real blunt and he looked at me and said well how come you haven't had another one kind of ticked me off so what are you talking about i remember we're sitting we're sitting having some lunch he goes how come you haven't had another one i said what are you talking about and he said well who who said you couldn't have one another one he said you mean to tell me you think god's controlling that i sat there i got i was a little ticked off at first then i began to think about it hmm you're right because i began to think about it you know you know who initiated that experience me you know how that experience happened because i got hungry and i was seeking god about some things and i i i spent an extra two weeks it was a two-week time period lacy would go to bed around nine o'clock 9 30 and i would go upstairs on our porch i'd spend an hour each night just spending time praying just seeking god seeking god and seeking god and after about a week some things began to happen i mean crazy things wonderful things god things some things began to happen and then after that happened i did like a lot of christians then i began to just glory and then man that was amazing that was woof wow 10 years goes by man that was amazing that was that was awesome 15 years ago that was amazing wow and then i started getting fed up with that i want another one let me show you something real quick this we'll finish up here there's a guy named guy named enoch you ever heard of him look over at genesis chapter six i believe it's chapter six five or 6. genesis chapter 5 and in verse 18 and 19 this guy named jared he lived 162 years and he had enoch his son enoch was born to him when enoch was born adam was 622 years old so adam's still alive this is the man who walked with god adam walked with god talked with god saw god heard god walked with him in the garden 622 years old enoch was born verse 21 it says enoch lived 65 years and birthed methuselah after he begot methuselah enoch walked with god 300 years and had sons and daughters all the days of enoch were 365 years verse 24. this is the one that's just had me for years and says enoch he walked with god and he was not for god took him amen friends number one next time you're in a funeral and the preacher says that god took that person stand up and shout you're a liar now don't do that i've wanted to do that many times because the only time god actually took somebody when they died was enoch and who else elijah he didn't slam him into a tree he didn't put cancer on them and take them so he could have a new flower for his flower garden in heaven this is the only time two times you see god take someone and yet what's interesting about this is you see enoch again he's not saved not born again salvation is not available he doesn't have a local church he's not spirit-filled he doesn't have a church to go to where they've got lights and they've got they've got fog and smoke and they've got hip cool music and skinny jeans and tight rolls he doesn't have all these things to encounter god like we do today he wasn't another type of church where you know they got the hammond b3 screaming and you know people are getting the holy ghost and he didn't have these things at his disposal but apparently he had one thing that the vast majority of christians today don't hunger enoch was hungry and i guarantee i double dog scooby-doo dare you i guarantee you more than likely he heard from great great great great great great grandpa adam you know son there was a time i walked with god and i talked with god and i saw him and i talked to him just as real as i see you and i talk to you right now he didn't have bible on mp3 cd he didn't have youtube he didn't have facebook watch he didn't have any things to to watch sermons and be inspired there was one man that was still alive on the planet one man that had ever seen god and talked with god and walked with god and his name was adam but you hear you have one of his great great great great great great great great grandsons and at no point up to this point we don't see any of those other grandpas going after the things of god but something grabbed ahold of enoch and it says for over 300 years he walked with god and this guy a sinner not born again not righteous like you and i not filled with the holy ghost he got so close to god that one day he just stepped over why is that so important because it shows us again a man a physical man not saved not in the position like you and i but had such a hunger for god that he began to seek after god and and go after the things of god and the wonderful thing about god is god's never going to tell anybody no you'll never see in the bible anyone who is hungry after the things of god and going after him you never see god stop and say no you're not saved yet isn't it interesting we ran out of time this morning we'll look at it next week but isn't it interesting even with moses even with joshua you see it in exodus chapter 33 that moses says that he he got a tent and he said it on the outside of the camp and he called it the tent of meeting he didn't even ask god's permission he said this is the place i'm going to meet with god and moses would go out there to meet with god intentionally and the bible says that god he would come down and i love love love love love the statement because it says god he would speak to moses face to face as a man speaks to his friend and moses was a sinner and moses was on prior murder he was not saved not born again didn't have a church didn't have a pastor didn't have a bible and yet moses so hungered after god wanting to know god because you see as you read exodus chapter 33 moses tells me he said i want to know you god told him he said i know your name and moses said it's not enough that you know me i want to know you he said i know you know my name that's special but you know what it's not good enough for me i want to know you and the way you know me moses said this moses said in the way you know me i mean i'm appreciative of it but i want to know you and god didn't say well moses you don't understand the time's not right you're gonna have to wait a while well you don't understand your past it's pretty bad no what it does is it gives you and i hope and what it does is it removes all of the religious excuses that you and i have allowed ourselves to buy and and bite down on hook blind singer take it swallow it and just live our little religious life going through life and thinking that god's withholding and god's holding out and maybe one day i can hear from him maybe one day i'll have an encounter with him and you know this whole thing of hearing from god it's hard and and seeing god it's hard and and having encounters an experience of him i mean those only happen every once in a while for the super spiritual saints jesus said this in john chapter 14. john chapter 14 verses 19 through 21 jesus said this he said on the day of salvation you will know that i am in the father the father is in me and i am in you and he said on that day i will manifest myself to you jesus didn't say after you've been saved for 50 years and gone to bible school and you're a deacon in the church he said the day you get saved as the day encounters are supposed to begin think about that guys the things we've been being fed so many times in church and the messages is not measuring up to jesus jesus these are jesus words and jesus said as the father knows me i can know him jesus is the one who said on the day that you receive salvation is the day when encounters are supposed to begin you see we might need to change change and rearrange to the way that we do things when we're talking to people about jesus and and leading people to the lord i think we've kind of jacked it up pretty bad for a while and you know we go to people and say you know are you born again do you know jesus if you were to die today would you go to heaven or hell i think we need to flip it around and say you know would you want god to live on the inside of you today why is it about turn or burn i mean yeah there is a heaven and there is a hell but i mean why put the focus on way down the road why not put the focus on god being on inside you now see it's about relationship it's about fellowship it's about encounters and yet we've taken off the fellowship and that's why we've turned faith into a formula and that's why you have so many christians working working working working trying to make it work and forgot that jesus already did all the work he did all the work so you and i didn't have to try to work to get a fellowship in a relationship with god jesus did all the work through his life so you and i didn't have to try to work to build a hear and see from god have experienced his encounters with god the only thing that you need as a christian is hunger and once you get this hunger then you've got to make you have to make a conscious decision i'm going to get rid of some of these distractions and we'll spend a lot of time on that praise god i just want to inspire you a little bit today stir some things up and make you think a little bit and make you hunger a little bit say oh my goodness there's there's actually more there's actually more there ought to be something burning on the inside of you that man that just makes me want to go spend a little extra time praying today it makes me want to get out of here and just just go get off by myself and maybe spend an extra 15 minutes just praying in tongues for a little bit maybe go off and spend an extra 30 minutes just put some background music just lift my hands and just begin to worship him and just increase my connection with god the one who knows me and said i can know him i can have encounters and awareness with him that same one so you start talking like this and it doesn't make me want to get into work mode it wants me to get into no mode because that's what eternal life is all about to know him the one true god and jesus christ his son whom he sent to know him to know him that i could actually know him greater than i know you that the god on the inside of me could be more real to me than the shirt that i'm grabbing hold and tugging on right now why because he's on the inside of me this is what you talk about refer to being conscious of god god conscious more conscious of him less conscious of these things so that i can walk through this life and yet still be dominated by the god on the inside praise god let's lift our hands and let's just worship him take a moment i just want you to worship him put your mind on him connect yourself with him put your connection on him identify with him just say this with me say father i thank you right now that you are with me you've never left me you've never forsaken me you're always with me even though others may walk away and leave i'm never alone because you've never left me you're always with me that you're more real to me on the inside than any person i may see on the outside you are a spirit and i am a spirit and in the way that you know me the way you encounter me i know you encounter you and have experiences with you and the way that you talk with me i can talk with you in the way that you see me i can see you father i thank you for manifesting yourself and my life holy ghost helped me to become more sensitive more aware of your presence in my life walking in me talking in me moving through me help me and increase my sensitivity and to and keenness to spiritual things thank you that you're with me right here and right now that you're more real to me on the inside than the chair that i'm sitting in father i thank you that you're with me thank you that you are so good you're so wonderful jesus thank you for paving the way making the way opening up the door tearing down that curtain and tearing down that wall so i've got unhindered access to the presence of god 24 7 at any time in any place that i need to just spend time with you and encounter you and hang out with you i can whenever i want whenever i choose praise you jesus hallelujah so see there's a reason why god gave us these times in the old testament where people actually saw him why because you can take your mind and you can put your mind on those experiences that others had and let that fuel your fire to have those very same encounters see god gave you an imagination and that imagination is allow you to give you access and begin to see into the spirit realm you can take some of those things that you see them describing about him you can put your mind on that and give yourself a head start praise you jesus hallelujah praise you jesus you know like the old testament prophet said i i saw him seated on his throne saw him seeing it on his throne saw his majesty in his his glory his train filled the temple you can close your eyes and use your imagination and just begin to see him on the throne and all of a sudden just by doing that all of a sudden your keenness and awareness it goes up a little bit because now i can see something i got something to put my faith on a little bit and all that does is encourages you and pulls you and pulls you and pulls you just to go a little bit further and a little bit further and a little bit further and a little bit further until we get to the point where not that i'm living like a hermit all throughout the day but i've spent those times with him that way when i walk out of that and i'm in and around people and living life and doing business and work and this and that i'm still very keenly aware of the god on the inside of me and then when i get to the point where it seems like that's beginning to dissipate a little bit maybe i go and take a bathroom break and i'll walk off and not necessarily go to the bathroom just to get off by myself and put my mind back on him maybe it's been five five minutes just on your breath off in a corner maybe you shut the stall you know so nobody can see you they're just putting your mind on him and constantly putting your mind on him and constantly putting your mind on him all throughout the day maintaining that awareness of him praise you jesus you
