let's talk about what grieves the Holy Spirit well we have some teaching we're going to do if the Lord allows me to continue this morning manner there's a book that I've written this book has been written pretty probably for more than ten years have never published it and it's entitled currently it's entitled the process of holiness and we're gonna do some teaching on on holiness but the process a lot of times in the church we preach it you must be holding you must be holy you must be hold it but we never teach people how to actually walk in it so what happens is the sincere babe becomes bound by guilt because he or she doesn't know how to facilitate such a high standard and one of the main the main should I say the main factor in holy living is the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit he is called Holy Spirit because his main objective in the life of the believer is to sanctify and to make us holy and acceptable in the eyes of God so there are things that grieve the Holy Spirit or I feel him even now moving into this room this office there are things that grieve the Holy Spirit you know in your personal life there are conversations that you can begin to have that will grieve the Holy Spirit and you will feel the atmosphere around you change in a corporate worship setting there are things that will grieve the Holy Spirit and you will feel the atmosphere change have you ever been in a worship setting where somebody was worshiping and man they were really worshipping and the glory of God was filling the place and somebody who was not sensitive to the presence of God got the microphone and said something abruptly you know the glory of God is and then people are weeping and stretched out before God and then somebody who's not sensitive to the Holy Spirit gets to mic and says hey man hey man amen let's move on with the program and then everything just dropped because the Holy Spirit had been green walking in the Cinda in in the worship experience and I know I'm talking to a lot of churches including new home Family Worship Center walking while worship is going on walking while the word is going on unnecessarily grieves the Holy Spirit sitting in churches popping gum while people are trying to engage the presence of God grieves the Holy Spirit having trifling and trivial conversations while somebody's worshiping you know we got to learn to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit because a lot of times you sitting in churches and you saying I don't feel nothing in this church it's not the church is that you have grieve the Holy Spirit he was grieve with all of that gossiping you did on your way to the church all that dragon you did for the pastor and other leaders in the church about things that weren't even your business and things that you don't even understand you you grieve the Holy Spirit so doesn't matter what church you go to you're not gonna sense his presence until you repent he was grieved somebody said happens that my church often it's the pastor that doesn't quite often it is the past many pastors have no clue they have no clue how to embrace the Holy Spirit and how to follow his lead we're so accustomed to being in control that we don't understand that is not our church but at times in our church when the Holy Spirit takes over and you know I because I have to be in 7:30 service in New Orleans I got an 8:30 service and each service in East New Orleans I got to catch a plane and make my way for 11 o'clock service in Houston I have obviously have a strict schedule but there are times man that the Holy Spirit falls in that place and I just cannot came a king I can't cut off what the Holy Spirit is doing clover didn't know but learning what grieves and the Holy Spirit's purpose is to help us to succeed the Holy Spirit helps us to succeed in everything when we do things that hurt him he gets grieved and withdraws from an active involvement in our faiths when we do things that hurt him he gets grieved and withdraws from an active involvement in our fans think about it like this if you lived if you live your entire life to help somebody to help another person and all they did everyday was to do things that would hurt you think of how hurting it is to to raise your children to feed them to nurture them to to be their doctor when they're sick to educate them to finance them and then have them to grow up and do everything they can possibly do to hurt you think of how hurtful it would be for man to work his fingers to the bone to come home to have his to come home to wife that does everything she can to hurt him that's right many don't believe in the whole despair which is sad because of religion how hurtful is it for a woman to serve a husband to take care of him hand and foot and all he does every day is hurting her now the problem comes in when we do things knowingly or sometimes ignorantly that offend the Holy Spirit sometimes when we ignorant the Holy Spirit will look pass I ignorant but when we offend him he withdraws from us go to Hosea 5 and 15 Hosea 5 and 15 and the word says in Hosea 5 and 15 what grieves older spirit an appropriate conversation disrespect disobedience and disregard absolutely i disappoint myself and I do that all of us do in Hosea 5 and 15 he says I will go and return to my place till they acknowledge their offence I will go God says I will go and return to my place until they acknowledge their offence and seek my face in their fliction they will seek me early but notice the emphasis on acknowledging their offenses and seeking the face of God when we have grieved the Holy Spirit the face of God we lose we must repent and pray for God's face you know a lot of times we want what's in his hand when he desires us to seek his face taking the holy spirit lightly Wow now the main thing we must do to never grieve the Holy Spirit is to not take his presence for granted do not take his presence in your life lightly this is the biggest problem now you all listen to me this is the biggest problem with with with sin in the life of a saint of a believer and believers do sin yes he is God watch this watch this this is the biggest problem we go out and we commit sin and we know that the mercy of God is new every morning but the biggest fall out of sin is that it takes a moment to fall into it but it seems to take a lifetime to get back to that place of intimacy with the Holy Spirit especially when you knew better see for me the joy of the Lord is my strenght for some of you all you still think that money is your strength you still think people you think popularity do you think thing they if you have to Baal life down the one:1 factor only one thing you can hold on to it would have to be the holy spirit as much as I love my wife my children my family my church the Holy Spirit I cannot I cannot live without him I cannot live without him the Holy Spirit is my oxygen I can't take him lightly you know wow yeah there you go and see the Holy Spirit oxygen I suppose is is probably a great analogy the whole spirit is the one that gives you joy he's the one that opens doors for you he's the one that steers you around danger he's the one that works miracles for you he's the one that touches the heart of your boss and you walk in and you get an unexpected promotion and the last one you think about is the Holy Spirit you know you don't even think thank him for making it making it safely to your job not knowing that he steer'd circumstances so that you wouldn't have a fatal accident and you didn't even take time when you got in a car to say Thank You Holy Spirit for protecting and guiding me when you wake up in the morning you didn't thank him the enemy was sending spirits to drive into insanity to drive you out of your mind and you didn't you know you didn't even wake up this morning and say good morning to him Holy Spirit thank you for keeping me all night thank you for waking me up in my right mind the Holy Spirit does all of this he's kind of like oxygen you notice how you never we never think about oxygen until we're deprived of it let that sink in you don't think about oxygen it's the most probably the most important thing in your life but because you cannot see it and it does not make any noise you do not think about it until you don't have it anymore the Holy Spirit is present and we grieve him when we take his presence and lightly y'all not giving me no hearts on this he almost not love the Holy Spirit taking the Holy Spirit with Samson's major error yeah he leads you to tell you where to go go apply for this job that job man he's awesome but the taking the Holy Spirit was Samson's major error he failed to appreciate the touch of God upon his life and he lost it he lost the touch I see and I'm not talking about Holy Spirit him and talking about the touch of God on his life the strength that supernatural ability that the Holy Spirit brought he lost it because he took the Holy Spirit lightly he just disregarded the laws of God and disobeyed even his parents when you read the history of Samson you will find that he repeatedly disobeyed God the number one thing that that grieves the Holy Spirit is when we live lives of disobedience when we live lives of disobedience fact about it this Sunday at new home Family Worship Center Houston and East New Orleans are dealt with it's Sunday at 7:30 uptown New Orleans but I'm talking about triumphing through obedience there are many of you who have grieved the Holy Spirit because you have been in disobedience you've been in this you've lived your life in disobedience you're engaging in illicit relationships that the Holy Spirit to you not even get involved in you're entertaining people in the fellowship that are doing nothing but creating strife you're living in disobedience you've grieved him let me read for you in judges chapter 6 verses 20 through 21 it says and he said the Philistines talking about Samson's still he says the Philistines be upon thee Samson and he awoke out of his sleep and said I will go out watch this as at other times before and Sheikh myself and he was not he knew not that the Lord was departed from him but the Philistines took him and put out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and bound him with feathers of brass and he did grind in the prison house notice what the results of Samson's forfeiting the touch of the Holy Spirit on his life was he was on a way out that the anointing was gone see listen listen I gotta get close to y'all I can't do this without the Holy Spirit this this is about more than these books on these shelves and I've got thousands of books this is my smallest collection of books I got thousands of books I got thousands of books my father even left in boxes and I got thousands of books and boxes of my own and I just got to find more shelving for but it's bad I can't do this just reading that and coming here telling y'all about what somebody said in there this requires the Holy Spirit the anointing the day I wake up and I don't have the anointing on my life I'm done people don't people don't come to me for what's in my head they think they do but what's in my head means nothing if oil is not on it and when you grieve the Holy Spirit you lose the oil you lose the anointing and the sad thing about it is when you lose the anointing you usually the last one to know it you'd like Samson you shaking yourself you think you still got it the second thing that happened his enemies took him and had their way with him when you grieve the Holy Spirit not only will you lose their knowing but the enemy will gain an advantage over you there's a lot of stuff that would have taken over your life but for the anointing of the Holy Spirit thirdly he lost his vision to see you know when you grieve the Holy Spirit you start walking at a distance from the Holy Spirit your discernment goes down you begin to let wolves into your life and cave and see that this is a wolf and people begin to demonic people and ungodly people begin enter into your life and you have no clue and then finally Samson was bound he was restricted when you lose the touch of the Holy Spirit when you've grieved the Holy Spirit my god now is 830 Man this is why Fijians 4 and 30 says grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby you're sealed unto the day of redemption he says grieve not the Holy Spirit of God grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby you're sealed in that word sealed there literally means it means to be stamped with a signet or private mark for security or preservation by implication it means to keep secret to attest to something belonging the Holy Spirit seals us we are God's his sealing has an eternal and even a daily effect now shut it down here our souls are sealed in the kingdom of God eternally but our lives must be sealed dearly to live the successful Christian life when we grieve him we expose ourselves to the enemy so now that no watch this watch this watch this and I'm done the Holy Spirit just said and he said make certain that you tell them that their personal worship experience has nothing to do with the people in their church because some of you all go to churches where they've not even there's no emphasis on worship they don't know don't have a clue about worship but yet you feel that God has planted you there and God said the Holy Spirit is your personal worship experience has nothing to do with the people around you I've been in church man where people have come in and they've gone into their own thing not to the degree of disturbing the word or anything like that because that's never an order but I've seen people man just go into their own thing I've been in traditional churches that did not even know the Holy Spirit existed and I've seen people go up and just be going to they go into their own place man and you know when you really get into worship wow you really don't hear anything or you're not aware of anything else around you to be quite honest with you but God and the Holy Spirit says sometimes he's grieved because you're so distracted by the people around you that you're not you're not you're not engaging your personal relationship with him and you leave away every Sunday complaining about this church in these people but you never put the focus on him you never put the focus on him so this morning I've taken a little longer than normally this this morning oh one second it says the book I was telling you all about this book right here good morning Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn I know some of y'all have your opinions about Benny and Vinny n is eccentric he is eccentric I love him I think he's a powerful man of God a lot of folk don't because they don't believe in you know the things of God and you know they see they see the miraculous they have their opinions about whatever people are bound by religion many times and I don't want get into that but I will say this this book right here transformed my life that this this book here what this book really does for you is this book just it helps you to get it relative to the Holy Spirit being with you it makes you aware and cognizant of his personhood he's he has thoughts his feelings he has opinions he you know he wants to speak to you he walks with you it helps you to get it that the Holy Spirit is not a myth he's not some mystery he's present and it changed my life relative to my relationship with the Holy Spirit it changed my life and I recommend to anybody that really wants I don't care what your religion is I don't care not about none of that I don't care about none of that I don't care about none of that this book right here will bring you to a place spiritually that I haven't found a book like it I haven't found a book like it I mean I found a lot of books that have a lot of great information this book here's impartation see some things are taught some things are caught this here well this year is something that has to be caught in the reservoir of your spirit you had a change in life change your life now I'm I'm through I'm through but you know whenever I go to talking about the Holy Spirit man he gets so excited he gets so excited about just the idea that we recognize and respect his presence that he shows up he's in this room you know and he's just he's excited in this room because we he's where you are if you notice how the atmosphere is shifted even from the time when I was on a radio praying and talking with people about their needs their concerns to the time either Crockett's and we shifted to the Holy Spirit have you noticed how about the whole anointing changes have you noticed that that's not your imagination it's like the whole room where you are the space where you are it just went to another level this is something you got understand when you begin to talk about the Holy Spirit when you begin to recognize his presence he will shift your atmosphere and when your atmosphere shifts you know what happens depression having its sickness demonic forces all of these things they cannot live their subject
