long shot this actress has given us films like Cider House Rules Prometheus Mad Max fury road and are off scrutiny groans in Monster please welcome Charlie stone you did it PG yes said he in and out of a taxi yes welcome everyone Matthew first time first time to talk about but shorties and says you're not a world tour right now aren't you promoting your movie if by world you mean Paris you're in Paris and then we just came here and then we go to New York and that's and that's all the world I care to see how did this happen on a promotional tour for your film you posted this picture release it you are these old puppies why we I don't know okay things we do to so armed with some puppies but it ended quite badly yes I was playing with two puppies and they were playing with each other they were buddy they had very sharp tees I do and my nipple got in the way that's got the very docile I'd only puppy I had it only gently licked my nipples I said you connect short other night because you question yourself and Zach we're in bad numbers 1 until we were two films together yeah we know each other well it was rifle to see him there we are which one's me once what is that didn't you keep trying to get poor Zach to take a shirt off I did know that the more his shirt was off in the film the more money I would make only later did they realize he was right so I was ok exactly I was just like dude learn this together we just work together so yeah I was like I recall a modern-day pimp exactly I'm out there yeah there's another of ethnic because I you know I've seen so many of your films over the years Matthew and I feel like a [ __ ] because it wasn't till you were coming on here that I realize that you mathematic are Simba in the Lion King yeah yeah adult Simba and which is an amazing thing to be yeah we should talk about that more I sure yeah every now and then a good father will come up and say this is timba say something they make me talk and I talk and the kid goes I've never heard of the Lion King but the connection is that you Seth are in the new Lion King I am I'm Pumbaa in the new life the live-action yeah it's a Disney the big Disney yeah the one I mean they call it live-action but they didn't train a warthog did they know nor did I go around on all fours for motion capture I'm voicing I do the voice of the warthog it looks real Disney likes to call it live-action and I will never disagree with the Disney Corporation it's a live-action life but Matthew the other thing is after all these years it isn't the Lion King that isn't the film people come up to you about most yeah what is it still Ferris Bueller probably remember some of the oldies and one of them yeah what do they say just like I like that movie or do they shout things out you say is your day off hey I'll tell you they say it's your quote at the beginning of the movie you know sometimes what is it exactly look life moves pretty fast sometimes you got to stop and look around I think is where you are yes I can I just tell you I if for a moment when I saw that movie when I was young and this is Venus since we've been very young I watched it multiple times the movie is good when you're young and all the greatest film performances and you literally got me to start living my life to the fullest just whip everyone thank you I think you should stop the show a genuine moment L has ever said that about one of my movies I will never have downhill for ya let's start like with Charlie since su movie longshot it's out next Friday May the 3rd and I was taking backstage it is that rarest of things it's a really funny rom-com it's got heart it's got brain it's terrific so who are you in it what's it about tell the people go for it so why I'm but I play exactly I feel this one thank you journalist who's unemployed and I was babysat by Charlize --is character who has become the Secretary of State and she's running for president so she needs speech writers and I get hired as one of her speech writers and hilarity and romance ensue because the film had been in development for a while so when did you come on board well I set to reach down to me about five or six years ago with the with the original script that his company had and and I read it and I thought I thought there was great potential for us to do something that could really work for the two of us and so we decided to develop it together and we spent about five years developing it and we worked really hard to try and make something that feels very much of this day and modern and fun yeah yeah but also it is from I mean this is romantic you have got very romantic and it's also very funny but as we've got a clip this is you said that's kind of your start of your career writing for sure Lisa's character Rosanna Hey I had some jokes uh uh I was gonna run by you maybe if you have a second what do you would you just barge in sleeping you were sleeping sorry I didn't realize you were sleeping you were standing and your eyes were open I was gonna run by you if you have a second yeah that was actually a really good great seemed very restful political background and but you have been developed for a while so at what point did you make the decision to make the president a TV star around when Donald Trump the movie to be reflective of times and I think like there's not a lot of movies that have been made in the last few years that I think really try to let the audience know that the people who made the movie live in the same world as them and experience the same culture as them so it was hard because we kept trying to think like what would be good for our movie for the president to be we have a president character and it was kind of a moving target where wherever we thought of something crazy something crazier would happen so we're like oh uh this idea where the president in the film is Bob Odenkirk and he played the president on a successful TV show for years and then was nominated as the president of America which we thought was kind of crazy and then the exact same thing just happened in Ukraine like one week ago it's a moving target just when you think you've outdone reality reality comes and does something crazier than what you thought of you know it's that we're amazing we are highly wrote politics is so nuts now and like so you said you worked with stormy Daniels I did work not in a porno film story Daniels is in not she's in both knocked up and the 40 year old virgin we we we've never told her we are we very early in our careers we realize like if you ever need someone to be naked in a movie you should hire a pornstar because it's the easiest thing they did that week in general there it's not a situation where you're like convincing a mainstream actress to get naked instead you're taking apart actors from putting her in a mainstream movie and she doesn't have to put anything in her and super scenes in these films and story played a stripper in the in those films were you considering her for life she was for awhile gonna be I go way back tell you the oldest stories then yes then she did tell us that she had had a relationship with model truck and at the time when authorities law tells you they have sex with Donald Trump it's the least interesting thing you'd heard that day the most expected information here and literally was not interesting to me I was it oh yeah great a porn star detectives on today yeah that's exactly what expect to happen believe you pleaded rights in general I played this on the show we talked to you know actually catch bug great actors they've worked with often it's Meryl but I don't we've ever had someone on the show who's worked with Marlon Brando this was what you didn't the geek show up no no definitely not I was Gaston they said Marlon Brando's playing the other guy in it I was like yeah and he said no really we're gonna go to the island and get him and he's coming if I were his Island you know I'm on a ship like was it like in Kong you know and they got him stateside and we were rehearsing this is the freshman yes yeah the freshman and we were rehearsing in the directors hotel room and Marlon was supposed to show up he was a little bit late I was again like oh he's definitely not come a little more time past the doorbell rang we all crowded around the door director hope with it and Marlon Brando on his knees cuz he was sorry he was late when he was only about four hours late and he was wearing a tan velour sweat suit a cowboy hat and some kind of slightly pink tinted sunglasses but I feel like I might have imagined that part wearing that I think was this the part of his career when he started using the earpiece and all those things he did he was using an earpiece yeah which is which is actually he was still fantastically good and rehearsed a lot too so he worked very hard but he rehearsed with an earpiece sometimes he would rehearse without the air piece but then when we were shooting he would have an earpiece so that the he could hear his lines being read to him by his secretary sometimes someone has to read the lines because somebody's too far away Prag just discuss pressure just to remember yeah I don't yeah well no it's just remember he's Marlon Brando cut the guy he said he said I don't like to do too many ticks because I start to learn them and I'd rather not know them Wow he felt it was more organic to just have the words of appear yeah that's right so there was a woman's are like that yeah it's his big stars who got me brother burning lines it is a great it seems like an excuse of between takes he could still talk to his assistant so he they say cut and he'd say you have to start speaking before he finishes you heard you say are you talking to me Marlon you've got a magazine in one hand and you're not paying attention to the time I take a letter of Nick Mancuso the money is right that he would that would happen out of nowhere you know it was a real conversation yeah yeah but out we must mention that another one of your films cuz I think Seth you also are a big fan of Project X I was a big drive a fan of all your films growing up but that was a film I watched a lot as a kid that's how you don't hear that every day yes it was really upsetting yeah it is a little access the monkey dies yeah sort of like the dead monkey ham falling out of the key that that best me up as a kid I was I don't know you very well but you're getting tonight thinking that you did enjoy the film because can you imagine Matthew Broderick looking happier than he does in this picture okay so now is that the original chimp is that awesome well I think that is Arthur that could be siafu but I think it's Arthur okay I know all their names Lady Mary boy yes and I was always polite to her because if you don't they can grab you with four hands and put their fangs in your neck this is where you're a loving life and you really enjoy working with chips in this next picture I think the chimp is still enjoying the experience you seem to have lost some of the love of working with the light's gone out of your eyes it looks like you started it a release for the chimp and then all the sudden she was like I want to be famous what's that thing ever urinate on you know because they were put in diapers active when they're totally nude yeah and then there's this picture and it's like you and the chimp have both discovered that show business is sheet charli's we must mention that there's a scene in your movie it's it's a it's a sex scene and I've never seen it on film before really it's a brief sexy yeah there's a scene where we both very very quickly yes is the joke of the scene yeah yeah but does that never happens in real life it happens to be a lot but it's not you feel this one show I think it happens very rarely alright girls but it does happen in the one percentile yes represent that yes yes oh it's hopeful for everyone it is you're gonna enjoy it maybe three times in your life we wanted to represent that yeah we commented on it in the scene it's not like we have sex real quick in the scene and were like oh that was normal that happens all the time we're like that was weird that doesn't happen very often but it is only in the one percentile please happens very rarely it is a genie in a bottle it is very hard you know they're they're always a bit difficult and I think Zack you were very young when you have to do your first kissing scene was it in a TV show the summer summer he was Underland summer Lana's yeah how do you know that over here because we've done resaw Summerland was the first TV shows I can't believe talk about the Summerland was the first show I ever was on and it was your first it was my first onscreen kiss I think it was like 16 and so I was very nervous and as I still get nervous but I was very nervous for this day yeah it's all about making I wanted to make her as comfortable as possible she was 17 and when in they go in for the kiss and everyone's watching it's a closed set though even more awkward yeah like only special people to watch yeah and everyone else whatever her name was Oh [Applause] remembers the names of the chip Seaworth will why poor her bill already I'd uh at lunch they serve fish and I was I'm not you know the the lunch spreads on set some can or any set you've never seen food like this I was like 17 I've never seen like crab legs up for multiple people movies right I've never seen a catered lunch and my mom was freaking out we've never seen this much food it was insane so I just went to town and I started eating I was doing only guest spotting so I had crab it's a man I'd all the stuff and next was the kissing scene and I was very nervous and we went in for the kiss I got off this close and all of a sudden I yeah I shut my eyes and I'm ready to go and nothing happens I'm going further and if nothing's happening like thinking eventually we're gonna touch and all this under here oh my gosh did you have for lunch yeah and it ruined ruined Oh first sorry I promise I brush my teeth I learned a big lesson that you do carry a toothbrush with you everywhere you go down I just had one you about really just had one back see you know what I don't know a full one but anybody wants with Russia sometimes kissing's okay there are other film tonight our other film tonight is a very different beast Zac Efron stars as Ted Bundy in extremely wicked shockingly evil and vile it's in UK cinemas and available on Sky cinema from next Friday and I think most people are probably aware of the name Ted Bundy they want to see much of the documentary which is I guess they haven't explained who Ted Bundy was Ted Bundy is like how could I compare him he is one of the most notorious killer of women serial killers of all time and this is a new take from a different perspective from the perspective of his girlfriend and a very longtime lover friend companion yeah and through her eyes and Lily Collins plays that woman Liz because it is very interesting because you know we as an audience we all go in knowing that you did it yeah but they tell the story as if we don't know that it's well there's a lot of reservations that I had about playing killer at all or being in this genre of film I think that it requires a lot of responsibility and I it wasn't until I spoke with the director and we clarified that all of all of the sort of points of contention that could lead towards glorification or my image of being what the director said is like he will say my Seth makes fun of me for being good-looking you just like the negative no I make fun of everyone and I'm sorry about that sorry never be sorry you're beautiful too don't be sorry I'm not sorry you've nothing to be sorry about we've got a kid and this is you as Stephanie trying to persuade your girlfriend paper Lily Collins that you are innocent and it you you've been done wrong he'll be free again it spends years hatching escapes getting caught punished beaten betrayed but he never loses hope and that's why we're stressed this is he make it out well I can you boy the ending call me yes yeah you do it so you wear out what you're aware of the Ted Bundy's yeah a little bit I'm in the documentary about him yes so the documentary that's not currently on Netflix is directed by Joe Burrell injured is also the director of this this man's name and and also there's that weird thing that you know you do bear a kind of quite a striking resemblance to him yeah yeah this guy I was able to do a lot of research and the director of our movie Joe Burrell injured brought out so much information cuz he was also simultaneously getting the documentary so I had loads of I I could spend three like three weeks watching material on Ted Bundy yeah yeah but after a while I learned that some of I could pick up the basic things like mannerisms certain ticks and things like that but I didn't want to make you tread a fine line between doing an impersonation and I had a good one that just becomes an impersonation yeah and making a three-dimensional character that your audience can associate with so yes it is that challenge isn't it of playing playing a real person doing the a transformation rather than an impersonation and we must mention monster where you need such an extraordinary job of that but it was such a so we had a Tuesday morning you don't you don't ever want to feel like you're just doing that one-dimensional thing and yeah I definitely like I didn't want to do prosthetics I gained a lot of weight for it but I did I did no prosthetics I did fake cheese and I lenses fake teeth are crazy had fake teeth and Bundy you never deprive any prosthetics no prosthetics that's just my fat face and I mean had this facial expression with her mouth her attention was always in her mouth and in her eyes and like you I just watched a lot of documentaries and try to you know I agree with him it's a fine line where you don't want to just look like you're doing a skit yeah you you want to understand the person from the inside out and sometimes that informs you in how they tell their story behaviorally but you don't want to just have it be that you want it to be a little bit more dimensional than that yeah as we must move on from film to theater the starry messenger begins its 13 week run at the Wyndham Theatre on the 16th of May it's Ausmus you broader to everybody from Downton Abbey amazing now you do the same bleh or a version of this play in New York the same play pretty much oh no it's a little bit different but the same play about almost 10 years ago Oh New York yeah and as so what is it about tell us the story of the play who were you I play a teach a astronomy teacher and I'm in a bit of a rut and it's a hard play for me to describe but I my marriage something happens to my marriage that I don't really want to spoil and a lot a lot happens to everybody it's a very stuff happens Kenny Lonergan wrote it justified you see and you can count on me a wonderful writer but his writing is is very naturalistic it seems like it and it it goes down a lot of surprising alleys and it's a little hard for me to sum it up but it's a wonderful player you obviously loved it because to reprise it you know to do it again 10 years yeah well I don't have to work as hard learning the lines there's that no no I do love it and we did it kind of for a short time so we're happy to have a chance enough this is not the Royal way I mean me and Kenny are happy to have a chance to do it again and obviously in Broadway you're kind of you know about to give your legend yes of course I think everybody know how the original producers and talking of awards however you when you won your first Tony I think I was 21 yeah you don't even look 21 there was that your first theater job yeah was my first big Broadway show and I won a Tony and it was very happy and then I did another play and I was like well it's the end of the season where's the Tony from years I thought what act and then they the year ends and then you go to award shows and they give you awards I thought that was how it would go but so many years about why is it taking this long for you to come to the West End I don't know I had a couple of little chances that didn't pan out you know I have children it's not so easy for me to come it takes a long time to do a play yeah ages yeah I need to go see what it goes right by won't have finished your Maltesers by the end I know I didn't sell it well but I swear to god that's a good plays are hard to sell its boy harlots you know he Kenny said if I could sum it up in a sentence I wouldn't have written a two-hour and ten minute play I think I think you did a good job I might mix I'm serious and be purely for the fact that you're in it and illicit and the whole cat it's wonderful other people there's a set there's furniture I stole it all yeah the brunch of this sentence and and go back to our film we have mentioned already but was it because you've done musicals yeah was that how you ended up in Ferris Bueller's Day Off was that the singing dancing got you that role or was that an accident that you were able to start dance no I I know it was not that I had not done musical at that point oh that after in fact maybe that led to the musicals oh okay if you don't mind yeah and please don't because we've paid for the clip now they're just a little clip of the famous parade see yeah of you see oh yeah you're welcome folks it's a real parade baby that parade was pretty graphed by a Kenny Ortega that's right you directly yeah and it's crazy that he would freak out if we were sitting on the same yeah as he knows such a great enthusiastic yes but he didn't choreograph you he did choreograph me we've spent a few weeks why don't you hurt yourself what I think you'd Perkins yeah what happened is I was you know there's a scene where I run through a lot of backyards and yeah yeah long scene and I twisted my knee like tiny exploded basically it's got this big oh my god I could barely walk for a long time and so that scene I couldn't do anything that we had choreographed basically that's when I set you on the floor they put me on the float and then they complete to everything and then they say and then the director was like first make it up you know it was not directed by Kermit the Frog yeah I don't know what I'm talking about said says you I mean if we say this says is a fan of this film we're not just saying it because you're on the cat no no no because seth has done this so there's that scene in the movie yes ad say this is you and your wife yeah we were in Glencoe which is a suburb of Chicago where they shot Ferris Bueller's Day Off and a lot of John Hughes movies the humble own house was there yeah right near there that's amazing oh yeah it's one of my favorite movies of all time so we were like let's recreate the image from the sea and maybe one day I'll get to show it to Matthew Broderick in a somewhat awkward interaction this iconic man have been away for nearly four decades but now they're back with a chart-topping album here singing embarrassed by you it is the special [Music] [Music] are you under [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you have no shame [Music] [Music] looking very sharp very sharp now so that is from the album I have it here encore The Specials encore 38 years since your last album is that right yes that's right we ever need for 30 years of marketing person you might have thought the window of opportunity number one yes I say you must have been over the moon because we have a picture of you getting into the if you become the number one album they give you a special award saying you were number one here you are you don't seem over no because that's me ecstatic pan out there's a sign above our heads Houston station waiting room which is true they awarded us at Euston station very busy people you're probably going somewhere I'm too coach is it a lovely thing because I always think you know when you experience something so you know extraordinary to be in a big successful band that only you guys share that memory so I was think it's such a shame that you're you're not together well it's lovely it's like first is like a school reunion I was like 17 when we started and so these are my friends at 17 and most of the friends I went to school with ended up in prison and these two survived that's work that well that yeah here's a weird thing I'm so sorry Matthew Broderick and yet glad why there is another Ferris Bueller connection do you know what it is no it's a special song it's not a special song no ours it was a general public song and I was your general public after really so we do a tune in in first birthday oh yes you were in the hot tub I think I believe so you have a good smile I was so psyched when I heard you guys were here I'm a huge fan of yours yeah I listen your music constantly to the eye all the time it's a thrill to see you guys the other yeah it's very very that's really that's already have a signed one back yeah I was thrilled to watch actors fight so hopefully I won't be on 38 years for the next I'll go but thank you so much for them Corbett's the chair who's there hello hi hi hey hey what's your name could see could see yes what do you live cookie I'm a little onion okay what do you do I work in finance in finance we'll leave it there say no more stop asking questions yeah okay off you go with the story so a few years ago I was backpacking in China I was up in the mountains near Tibet near the mythical shangri-la and so I was saying in this little village by a mountain stream and I went out for dinner I wanted to get something to eat and I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to to eating I like trying unusual local food yeah so I was for a walk and I came across this man who'd set up a little street store and he was grilling something on his little bit of grill and it's not delicious did you poop yourself was it again let me get to it okay dude pooped himself that's a different story so it looked a little bit like calamari so I was like whoa testicle te testicles we're nowhere near the sea but anyway I'll ask so I asked the guy and he said it's mountain squid I thought okay I've never heard of that but I guess we're near a river maybe that's a real thing so I tried it and it was tasty but unbelievably Chuy's so I've got a bit suspicious and you know kept going but then I thought okay I should ask the guy what this really is the bull now ask him again and he said okay it's pigs anus should we try one more yeah why not okay okay the same why not yes okay okay hello hi hi what's your name David David lovely David and where you from Scotland originally I what part is fought at Dundee daddy and I live in London yeah okay what do you do I worked in financial technology do you know poochy okay seemed lovely I'm impressed not great I do like kissing Summerland now yeah eating pig Xena the caging was insane on that truth okay sorry David we've got the strap I'll be going destroyed and so back when I started at university I met this lovely girl and spent a lovely evening with her and in the morning she brought me up and threw me out and I was half asleep half naked and the next week I walked into my electro theater meeting these new people for the first time and this guy was telling a story about how he had these new trainers of this guy who'd slept with his girlfriend I had to sit in that lecture theater that gentleman for four years and he still got my trainers you okay his daughter yeah she stole Missy's I ran out because leaving his shoes and the guy was wearing his shoes yes Wow is that good yeah if you'd like to have a go in the red show yourself and tell your story
