the magnitude of this young man cannot be overstated that's true it's funny like when you say king of the streets and we were in a contest right now he literally is the top Street skater in the world - like when his parts come out so I know everybody's just kind of nervous right now but joggers got a tap in and do what you got to do and there's a look at this fantastic course built out here and was able to take away one guy - keep your eyes on though young Jagger the 17 years old skating so well took a silver at X Games Minneapolis last year if Nyjah ever wins the lottery it just doesn't skateboard anymore I feel like Jagger will be in that place Loki this high skates so look at that dragon feature we'll see if any of the skaters utilize that obstacle in today's final ten athletes from five different countries we've got two rookies in the field Jake LRD and Ivan Montero Nyjah Huston as you see in search of that 10th Street gold medal and don't count out Yuto hora Gombe who's been so good it's a great time to be Yuto just turning fro with Shane O'Neill's April skateboards he's our top ranked qualifier Yuto looks good out there - he's got a trick that if he gets it I'm gonna be high for him through ten skateboarders out here today three 45-second runs each count the single best score let's take a look at our start list for the day we talked about Nyjah and Jagger two X Games rookies in the field Yvan Montero out of Brazil twenty-one years old looked really good in our elimination on his way to getting him he didn't think I could dunk earlier today sideshow no oh you were able to find a ball I know you were looking for a basketball I was a little bitty ball like for arcade game but I don't count another less she said now I'm not a huge fan of the way that commit to screen let me ask you how much did the judges take that into consideration because he doesn't saw what they don't because he's actually fixed I feel like they don't they just look at them for what it is like that's cool that's that's good points overall impression but he's not getting bonus but what for those tricks definitely cuz they're the most different on that obstacle which is gold then went to Norway last year won gold Minneapolis a bronze and then in Sydney a silver he's never not podium since he started skating at X Games I never I didn't really just that a backside flip Minneapolis I know you've been spending a lot of time with Jagger on this trip I actually saw him in the gym this morning he was getting after you said he was playing the rocky music I thought he was training for an iron yeah that's right okay he had finals on his mind in the fitness center at the hotel was blind but this was not the rug he had on his mind for sure we'll turn up go back Smith Jagger has the distinction still as the youngest competitor in X Games history in 2012 he wasn't even 11 and a half years old when he competed at skateboard bigger that's been really neat to see his evolution as a Grom skater in big air really now cutting his teeth on the street side street clips recently we had like a Red Bull 5 or 5 he just showed he could do it those weren't like him actually trying another but he was featured in skaters and cars the most recent episode with Chris Jericho give it a watch on X Gamescom actually watch that what I was doing that day to make y'all should watch it but I'm honest I don't know why I was watch it but I watched it you're a company man but you consume everything Shane O'Neill 29 years old in his 16th X Games appearance simply plugged in he's arguably the most talented skateboarder on the planet he's yet to win this contest is the word when it comes to parts his tricks of his parts are just like nobody you can't define the best in skateboarding everywhere it's off to do a trick without a board real quick obviously this is a throw line so just open I don't even know this is a throw away for Shane O'Neill we're just a couple Street final here at X Games Shanghai we're midway through run number two bit of a surprise the rookie Yvan Montero leading the way with the 85 some of the heavy hitters yet still to drop in for their second run so that could all change but really impressive to see some of the young cats including Vincent Malou right behind them they're holding down one and two early in this contest Jagger not a silver medal it's got a lethal bag of tricks this guy most talented all-around skateboarders yeah and Gary now we're talking about he got his start as you know very well in big air to watch him transition now and a focus on street you we're always about pushing the boundaries and not wanting to be put in the pigeon hold into one space it's got to make you proud to see a guy like jagger really let his wings fly watch him flipping his board around there like one of the top Street guys which she's obviously proving he's on that level is also capable of skating everything at X Games and cable a winner so he is probably the most you know I think well-rounded talented modern skateboarder of all time really difficult quite a bit of commitment to get that one rocks over here he's kicking rocks that's Loki the same trick twice but different aspects different obstacles which is cold oh he's got a backside flip that's for sure obviously getting one more run to try and say it's a clean one and get back on to the podium I'm Sam for put his run together I saw I mean if you can throw down like he was doing that and practice with that frontside blunt kickflip out frontside flip out the front side or the flip to frontside bluntslide on the rail if he can get both those tricks in that in the back the kick flip back flip on the rail and all those flip tricks whoa whoa see fealty and 84 for Jagger Eaton I'm just looking around the room cuz huh it's cool Hey that takes Jagger all the way into second I remember he skated mostly everything and it was just the fall but he had a heck of trick so that's probably what happened I don't know shadow Hill is sitting in 10th place on a bronze medal at X Games Sydney last year Shane is a force to be reckoned with man he is a lethal skate nobody else doing that we've never seen anyone quite like Shane O'Neill we say it every year the only guy who can beat Shane O'Neill is Shane oh these bags Amba nice you got the same complex it has to be their failures Fiesta says oh like that on a bench appropriately think about what he's going doing his head he's like bride who doesn't sleep I do this with no legs I knew this day I can do that trick dead oh oh that's a make oh he did that practice so nice couldn't really do it any better than I saw him do it technique-wise switch flip though to use like optimism does he like it that darkslide the first times you are some tapas board board that rail is beautiful man when you skate that you feel so good I mentioned the bronze medal in Sydney last year he's coming in with some momentum a third-place finish in London and Street League just a week ago Nyjah Huston unfamiliar territory right now he's currently off the podium but if anybody can handle this sort of pressure it's not you I definitely tend to do good get under pressure and I think a lot of it just comes from me being a really competitive person also having that experience of skating contest for so many years now I've gotten good at learning how to keep myself calm and not fold under pressure but uh yeah when I when it comes down to it I mean I'm having so much fun skating out there but I'm really competitive I'm always going out there trying to win for the longest time Nyjah was the youngest cat out here and then he was the teenager that was beating everyone now all of a sudden 24 almost 25 wrong he's one of the older guys but he just his prime just keeps expanding / Crick's bail right there that's not something he could be was asleep usually but you remember him out here competing when you were doing big air and you saw this kid with dreads yeah around the corner I can relate I turned pro when I was 14 and I was always a little little kid on the tour and then he transformed into a teenager and then becoming an adult they're like it's like the trip how that happens especially when you start with you're really young because you kind of like the kids ingrained in your brain then you grow up and you're like wait I'm supposed to be a little that's gotta be the worst to go out on a go to tree that's gotta beat a warlock you follow that's what you're on board you be like hi I need it all day yeah it's almost like anything it just letting the field know oh by the way look it even it's her night that's just that nicer for this so as we said the rookie want to arrow leading the way with that 8590 houston has his work cut out for him run he's got a final run to try and defend that goal we see it looks like he's limping a little bit bail earlier I redid the splits who knows that's catching up well at this point as we await his score from the judges one thing we know for sure if Nyjah is going to win a 10th gold medal in this event he's going to have to earn it because he is currently on the outside looking in was so used to his contest career him leading after that first run and then there's no catch again Wow and 84.3 390 use of putting up all the way up into second place here at Shanghai [Music] sold-out crowd here in Shanghai ready to bear witness for some history making its third and final run time here in the men's skateboard Street final a look at the standings some familiar names up towards the top you want Montero though Gary Rogers sitting in first place just so bad about that to seven lip late fake good you blended everything he has a we get to watch him in a skate contest so seventh place is where he stays we move on to our current leader 21 year old x-games rookie Yvonne Montero less than a point separates he and second place Nyjah Huston would kandi do Gary to give himself perhaps a little more breathing room a little bit better quick I sped it up for you you never breathe just not playing now here's the day you might think in another contest when we left the door but the winner judges are scoring this a step off I was like the trick that probably put him in first so for him to not get it they not gonna get that room yeah but everything that was different cuz that's this way harder than no stop no stop that was his picturing so he might get like 79-81 0.66 so Yvonne Montero now has to sit and wait he's in gold medal position but will he stay there Jaeckel Rd sitting in 8th place has skated this course so well so Huey Cleo wait for his best run of the day though [Music] [Music] okay okay but then again like I said had it been like a ball like a nose guard or an Isis over crew like something simple that you know you're just doing to like kind of get speed out of trick like he fell at the 542 think that everybody has paid attention to so the judges looking at that property and that's probably why you got the scores from earlier if it's not deny on those going on that's poor so got the crowd do that one but if I'm paying attention to him trying to do that 540 I leave you like somewhere low certainly he saves his best for last he moves up one spot in the standings up into seventh place what a showing for the X Games rookie Jake LRD Vincent maloom he's just outside of the podium with that 83 Jagger Eaton one went better than him in third place to get the slide he wanted [Applause] look at
