okay so here's a composition book oh my goodness let's look at these photos and this one right out the gate is one of those tintypes that's priceless right there 140 years old ring yowza that's not real is that like Photoshop from the early 1900's [Music] previously on locker nuts I bought a pair of lockers because I was intrigued by how old everything looked we paid 450 dollars and that seemed a lot to gamble there's a lot of junk to sift through but we're finding some treasures costume jewelry vintage film reels collectible coins we've also seen some amazing antique photography and tintypes but we have more to go through so let's see what we find today all right what's up lager nuts hey so we have a new locker that I'm really excited to show you I sneak peeks in the last video but we're not going to get to that today you gotta wait till the next episode because I realized we still have these boxes right here four boxes in this album from the vintage gamble Locker I was planning on doing these a couple weeks ago and then we had the blackout's our electrical company utility shutting off our power we lost power for a couple days kind of interrupted my flow and these have been sitting in the garage so I decided to get to those I asked him the live show last night if you guys wanted to see me go through these still and I didn't see any notes I only saw yeses maybe I didn't see the nose but there may have been some in there but it sounds like you guys want to see it I want to see it so let's get started on this and then next episode I'll show you a new locker that has some pretty interesting stuff coming out of it but we paid a lot of money but we'll see that soon enough let's get started on this so we've got these three boxes they're tall I open the tops of them and peaked inside that's all I saw I didn't get any deeper than later and it looks interesting so right out the gate we got some of those blue chips stamps we found that some other ones in this locker already that's interesting yeah okay so here's a composition book oh my goodness from 1916 history Indians were the earliest natives of America this is somebody's homework over 100 years old very nice penmanship to you look at this it's nice though this almost looks like calligraphy all right so I'm really I'm here hi I want the copyright 1913 good grief guys this is so old so this is a another composition book huh with the cover on it you know I thought a generic cover like a photo cover that's interesting all right would have got here the music hour it's a music book copyright 1937 another old piece all right wishing you a very Merry Christmas well you have some condition issues on this either like water damage or something right here and it's definitely got some discoloration on it otherwise I think this would actually be or some money this is a very old greeting card okay I'm getting some more very old photos I would say this box is already turning into be exactly what I hoped it would look at this phone how cool is that look at the house in the background pushy it's got a little dolly there there are so much stuff here you know I'm gonna turn the camera around let's take this out of the box and I'll turn the camera on we'll get a little better better footage okay this is kind of crazy do you see all this this is what we already went through okay I have all this this is just from one box that's nuts guys that is nuts there's so much stuff here there is lots of photos I don't know what that is I see tons of photos I see a lot more postcards this is really good stuff you know what I'm gonna do let me go through this right now this is just too much to go through it's too much let me go through right now and I'll separate like I did before and plot the stuff that's more interesting we'll go through that a little closer alright guys I just moved the operation indoors I've got literally like three neighbors all decided to do their yard work blowers mowers good grief can't get anything done so here let's look at these photos and this one right out the gate is one of those tintypes I don't even know what a tintype was before I started this locker but um definitely come to appreciate those there are some value there there's a few in here that aren't the greatest quality like this one's definitely washed out but this guy's working on what appears to be some railroad switches I just thought that was very interesting one share that a lot of railroad stuff so this one here appears to be a railroad station in Galt Galt the city about an hour and a half from us so this is some local history here this one is again also washed out but is some guys working on the railroad very interesting another really washed out photo but check this guy out he's got some kind of contraption there it looks like a bicycle set up to run on the rail tracks and you got that third wheel there this is neat another railway station it appears to be look at all these guys great photos I really wish this one wasn't so washed out this guy's in full-on uniform he's like probably works at a station or something I don't know and see that badge on there he looks pretty legit with the hat looking at a map or something this is a great photo but the conditions very poor here's another shot at that train station better quality fewer guys um I just think it's so intriguing I picked this one out because I just love that porch it's a little porch just for hanging out on it and I love the architecture there the decorative pieces above the porch it's really nice so look at this one we're a little close up but it's a long skinny I found a few of these and look at the format on it I found a few of these different photos this one was a better quality one but um I dig that format what does it say here Victor Peterson I don't know if that's a photographer or this person so check this out what I don't remember for sure if we found this exact same photo before but this dude we've seen before he's got such a like aggressive stance to him it may be the same photo or he may stand like that in every photo but I just think this is a great shot I may have already shown this one I am finding lots of duplicates check out this chap I'd say he looks uh he looks a little unshaven but at the same time he looks like you might have some money he's got a fancy suit in her pocket watch pretty cool all right this gal has a very fancy dress and fancy hat she would probably like the hats I found in the church hat Locker recently it's not the greatest photo in the world cuz it's a little blurry but what a great I don't know life shot Americana me this little guy in a full suit hat very fancy that's a throwback this has a very old look to it doesn't it what struck me the most about this is just a setting you can tell this taking a professional photography studio or what appears to be and I'm just to me speaks how formal the photo taking was back then this is cute little kid and this huge dress with some furs this is what's neat about though it's in San Francisco and it appears to being maybe a photography studio look at the back that backs almost more interesting than the front on this one Burnett in Slattery portraits San Francisco another interesting photo here what I like the best about this is appears that they're opposing in snow this I just think is a great shot just a photography the lighting everything perfect definitely professional shot and very elegant oh look at this this kid this kids smile is so contagious I love the shot it's a great photo the contrasts focus everything but this kid's expression is just that's priceless right there another shot not super great quality very washed out but look at that horse and buggy in front of what appears to be a farmhouse so neat I found a couple of these photos duplicates of this group of guys he's got some playing cards there this is to me just excellent this is capturing life another great shot here and again by a professional studio this one says Nebraska JM Macy I do think that this person collected or someone in the family collected photographs because I there's so many there's so many and they're all from different parts of country look at this kid with a violin oh the quality again is not so great content spectacular kid with the violin next to his dog love it here's another one that I just thought was really striking the lighting and everything on this is great but look at this this is cool Deadwood South Dakota so look at these kids are these girls in the dresses or these boys is some kind of I don't know formal wear they're chilling though they're chilling there's another shot of a family Americana life here on the farm somewhere it's great so what is this this is maybe school photo I don't know they got all this these C's on them so maybe that's a a team is this a team of some sort some sort of sports or school photo fraternity I don't know I don't know why I think this one to show you but it's great photo to you all right so you see this one public school Rushville and Nebraska 1900 so that's a schoolhouse and there's a picture of somebody sitting right out front of it so you see how close we can get there we go it's like a kid and his dog so that is great photo here's a couple gals hanging outside of their car this is to me looks like the 20s or 30s look at those outfits this this is swinging right here that's some great photos and that's just from the one box here's some other interesting stuff finding some business cards hold a couple to share with you seal stadium cafe and you got a guy on a baseball catchers outfit Bryant Street San Francisco it's great look at this Farley's dude ranch South Virginia at Airport Road in Reno that's so cool just really neat old business cards look at that oh whoa that's hard to read right so what's upside-down but Homer things could not be going better just beginning to get the job well under control after plowing through a maze of detail and last week all last week we'll start my second week here on Brett's firm footing and in 30 days may have something interesting to write you in the meantime stay sober it's awesome general paint corporation these are very old business cards so mana more or as at all my goodness how many Z's are in that name one two three four five six Aziz that guy's got the record for mosi's in a name that's insane Pete the cowboy that is hecka cool is that that is a really cool name mrs. J our hood I think this is the family good for twenty one meals not transferrable Oakdale and Nebraska merchandise and produce look at this there's two of them I think these are like big business cards they're a little bit bigger than standard size but back then what was standard I don't know pretty cool check this out compliments of 1910 Excelsior stove manufacturing makers of national stoves and ranges so we've got this little book and definitely old you could just feel the paper it's becoming very delicate and inside this book there's a little photo so little envelopes that put your weekly offering it says right there huh induction coil condenser so these some kind of schematics for something look at this calendar from 1910 this is hecka own insurance expiration maybe this distances and mail time to foreign cities from the city of New York Alexandria via London Amsterdam Antwerp Athens shows how many miles and how many days it takes to get there let's see what's the longest Shanghai Shanghai via London takes 45 days for the meal to get there it's not too bad actually for back then postal distances in time from New York City these are all for the United States um well this isn't a number of hours it takes to get there huh what a cool book huh little piece of history right here oh the calendar from 1911 looking ahead and here's a little ad for the National stove arranged pretty cool look at that stove nothing beautiful so this is interesting too that let's see if the date it's embossed years nineteen thirty to ninety 1932 31 it's got the scene here and this is from there's couple of advertisements there calendar 1930 again in this another ad it looks like and this is what it is right here the University of California freshman handbook how interesting is that look at that welcome from the president so for people who went to Cal Berkeley maybe they're gonna be into some of the history of the college and maybe there's a market for this I don't know I've never come across old stuff like this this is extremely interesting isn't it love this locker alright here we've got a few books to share this one I don't even know what that says it's very warm but um you'll see why let's see common school speller let's see do we have a date on this I'm not seeing a date but I like it it's cool this one opening of a chestnut bur it's cool anything chestnut on it I would definitely gets my attention um so so formal this guy's name he had a stamp that he's stamp on there with his new for all his books I guess again signs that this family had some money back in the day look at this you guys 1874 do you see that 1874 trying to be gentle with it is literally falling apart not to make it worse that is an old book 1874 so what's that 140 years older here yowza Appleton's mathematical series so there were a lot of books that were like scholastic and I didn't share all of them there's just these cool these were just these ones because I thought they were there actually I'm basically they're older and I think they're neat looking I mean let's face it it's that's part of it isn't it for a collector you want to have something that's nice to look at I think that just has a cool look to it all right I know some of you guys when we have a stack of stuff here on tops of postcards and that's when you guys like the postcard so I just want to share some of them with you we have a some that are just like Illustrated like that but check this out 19 getting some shadows here 1914 it was a 1914 very old postcard you can see there's like an embossing going on - so like all the designs if you've run your finger over you can feel it's raised it's been embossed that's kind of interesting that's not an easy thing so that was definitely a fancy postcard you can see there's like this pattern here this is all you know it's very faint that's all embossing that would I would imagine me to very heat very expensive to produce it's nice for the day it was very nice Mama's baby we were lost on the trail I'm not sure why someone would buy that postcard but 1911 look at that old stamp right there 1 cent Oh says were here burro series number 2 okay you gotta be in the borough's I guess Chicago Northwestern Depot Casper Wyoming again with the railroad theme this is neat I don't know if these are collectible or more valuable check this out it's a bunch of photo postcards all attached I think we may have found some of these before but yeah Wyoming those are neat I'm left to look those up okay more burro postcards of that that is a thing I guess Missouri River Bridge Iowa footbridge over Zombo River Minnesota so I mean do you guys like looking at this kind of stuff is this interesting I don't know 19:27 there's a lot of them again we get kind of get the gist this one I thought was cool because there's another San Francisco Peace Palace Hotel which I believe is still there I'm not sure is that still there I'm not I think it is Market Street at new Montgomery 1936 it's a great photo look at this one that's not real is that like Photoshop from the early 1900s that can't be real right no there's no potatoes that being that little wooden cart wouldn't hold them anyways they seriously do some photoshop work Photoshop meaning photo altering Yosemite old just seventy postcard that's cool here's a piece of is starting to split right here national refining company so it's an oil piece and Arco that's very collectible and Arco stuff and I think we found some game pieces that have to do with in Arco earlier and I sold those very quickly at the flea market it's like a checkers board with all the little squares having to do something with their oil White Rose I think it's one of their brands White Rose gasoline you see that here a lot of a lot of mentions of white rose so this is a neat piece and then on the other side this is white rose gasoline on the bottom and then in Arco motor oil on that side not bottom but on either side and this is almost like chutes and ladders it looks like kind of no maybe not it's just a game board how cool is that this is this may have some a little bit of value here I would say that's at least ten bucks all right look at this thing again we're not seeing the other piece some of these things just have that look just have that look and this is one of them you got a bunch of ink stains here I don't think it even matters this thing is just very interesting it is a it's again on this instructional book so Palmer method of business writing copyright 1926 this book right here this is a against let me do with the railroad all these pages to they're very thin paper almost like carbon copies and um look at this order two extra NWT 108 West at Alvarado Alvarado is a Street close to here over actually we're very close where I grew up and these are all streets like Fruitvale is in Oakland oh yeah the West Oakland right here Centerville is a district in Fremont and the railroad used to run through it or maybe still does Newark is another city this is all railroad related and all local so I was thinking about maybe bringing it down see if they have a railroad museum they I don't know maybe they'd like a piece like this because it is definitely part of our area's history and there still is a functioning railroad maybe would make a video out of it all right so let's look at this this photo album pulled this out of something else it was only an interesting thing in another band and what's I just glanced through it is got some good photos and I do believe this may have been the guy's family obviously a long time ago because these photos are old these are nothing recent no one probably living anytime recently look at this great shot of this little baby in the buggy so let's go through this real quick but what I think is this is cool isn't it look at it huh this oh for what a great shot with this worm very very interesting these something that was torn up here that's too bad old photo torn up so um yeah these are these are I think some family photos but from a long time ago but again I don't know for sure if this guy if these are actually his families or if he's just bought these off somebody else bought a large collection off somebody else because it definitely seemed like they were into collecting old photos more than just their family there was a ton of photos you know Wow these are these tintypes these are these are all tintypes right here very cool huh let's get closer look at things tintypes that puts them damp back to like the 1800s there's no all right so last night on the lab I asked you guys do you want to see what's in those four boxes do you want to see more of this old paperwork and photos the overwhelming response was yes and I hope you don't regret that because we not only I thought one more video mm-hmm that was one box we have four boxes okay but I will do four videos I promise we'll wrap it up let's just give it one more video okay I got tired really this took almost like half the day going through this stuff because you got to go slow there's really valuable and really amazing things amongst just a ton of other stuff we get overwhelmed with how much stuff there is and how amazing it all is because I think on average it's like 90 to 100 years old like every piece on average around that so I'm a little newer some a little older incredible incredible never found anything like this if we find one thing oh look at this postcards from 1917 we're in awe here we found literally a box full of them it's incredible so we've got one more video to come in but honestly I got tired I got tired of it and I called in some backup so Jana is gonna fill in for me you'll see her very soon as she's gonna go through the rest of it to give me a break I think thankfully I had her backing me up so one more video to come on this you guys if you like it and I so hope that you do because it is I know it's a little different than just going through and digging through a locker but this stuff really is to me terribly interesting there's so much stories to be told in these photos and I love looking at it and I hope you do too and if you do give me a thumbs up if you would please give a thumbs up on this video and subscribe to the channel if you haven't yet we hit 30,000 subscribers last night I'm so happy about that it's amazing thank you everyone has already subscribed and helped get us there we really really appreciate it so another video to come very soon all right next chapter coming up but until then good luck to you god bless you and we'll see you next time here on laka nuts I'm gonna take a break now all right I talked about the postcards that we found let me just give you a little peek I started this box just today and all of these postcards look at how many postcards are we found all these postcards just today all these came out of those four boxes we went through today is that not incredible that's not including all the stuff we found previously
