that Ren looks a little weird almost looks like she's running backwards or something and then it oh okay I don't know if you guys missed that so I was on reddit this morning looking at crazy filmmaking techniques used in Hollywood movies and Hollywood effects and and just behind the scenes ah this stuff is actually it's it's insane as gnarly some of this stuff I don't even understand like I'm impressed when I can get my light turned on and like the mic working I'm like oh looks good this frame this looks cool and then I watched something like this and I don't even understand what's happening so check this out we're gonna open up tab number one this is the Hershey's ad behind-the-scenes I believe the dude that does all this stuff do you know what his name is Steve geralt Steve Wow I need to hang out with you for like a weekend okay look at this there's the red dragon everything is cut it's on like a press and then it just looks and then they read and they remove the presses of course they remove the presses and it's just a floating that is insane we had to do a few takes to get the smush just right of course and the chocolate didn't melt good there who thinks of that who just says like oh I have an idea let's build this industrial press and probably glue the crackers to the top then we'll remove those in post we'll do it a bunch of times until it looks great comes down there's like an arm on the back of this yellow backdrop look at this there's like an arm right here it's dripping over that arm they remove the arm and post Wow I could literally watch that over and over and over okay so I believe this is a one-take recreating movie posters in one continuous shot lighting changed now wherefore is that Forrest Gump now now it's Mad Men oh how is that how is that one shot that looks completely CGI'd if it turns around and it's not CGI now it's what is happening this is this one shot I really suck at this I want to see this happening behind the scenes I want to see everyone running around doing this she said when he put his hand out for the gun he actually had a sleeve that's cool see that the whole back half of his jacket is a different jacket it's definitely one shot I thought it's being lied to for sure I was like now there's no way risky way to get the shot dudes walking through the door going down the stairs and the bottom frame and the camera is following him down the stairs okay so they've got the whole movie rigged or whatever rigged on a rope and they're just lowering it down the stairs and that's pretty smooth for just doing it on a rope that's a great shot that's a great idea too we should totally do that these are the things that like when they're done seamlessly you just don't even like you would be watching that bottom frame watching this dude walk outside and you would think nothing of a like kind of cool dude went out the door but there's two guys lowering an entire rig down on a rope behind them that's awesome we got blood dripping towards look like a bag of coke it's soaking into the coke we're zooming in we're zooming in we're zooming oh why the hacker you see did you see that and then suddenly boom people mud perfect the textures match perfectly that's insane that is Jesse driftwood eat your heart out that is insane no we're watching this again for the third time look at this soaks the cocaine which then turns into the ground turns in the mud perfectly like the seams I need to practice filmmaking harder what I see when someone says you can fix it in post that's someone's timeline I didn't even realize that dude look at this picture remember the bucket shot this looks like someone's computer's defragging do you guys remember when you would defrag a PC that's a disgusting timeline just disgusted than that there's no organized there's no organization whatsoever I know those color-coded clips you how would you find anything in there overexposed it's a picture of it it's a picture of a zebra that's more of a meme than anything awesome photography hacks that they use in advertising ramekin placed into the Super Bowl okay that's genius how have I never yeah of course everything would sink and then it just sits how have I never thought of that have you seen that before dude that's nuts Oh cake oh we got pancakes cardboard pancakes cardboard is used to add height that's so smart too and then they just drizzle this motor oil wait motor oil doesn't absorb into the pancakes food photography is a lie oh you don't I didn't hear once that they actually instead of ice cream use mashed potatoes because it doesn't melt and it looks the same when they're fluffy dish soap creates longer-lasting foam ah that's so awesome you know let's just start making videos on food photography ah I just I don't know how I feel about this it's almost upsetting I'm gonna use that ramekin one for sure that's awesome Bourne Ultimatum oh this is that sweet shot when he jumps through the window I had no idea a guy actually look at them I thought for sure they would have had that shot on a crane I didn't think some guy would just be dangling like that ooh oh I thought it was a crane - he was definitely just a dude in a wife beater no less that was a great shot though I remember they prominently featured that shot in the trailer definitely memorable wow that's cool okay contacts tricky mirror seen running down the hallway oh we're in the slow-mo now dramatic she's got that slope that run looks a little weird almost looks like she's running oh okay I don't know if you guys missed that that was ridiculous look at this and then it's in the mirror how was that done we don't even have anything to show how that was that doing we just have to enjoy that that's one of the most gnarliest camera shots I've seen in my entire life I'm trying to think how could that have running backwards the mirror post I'm not even gonna pretend to figure that's yo there has to be somebody we know that knows how that was done that's the best one so far that wins so far of all of this stuff okay car chase scene from again Jason Bourne let's check this out that's close hold on to the streetlights that's like when you drive under a parking garage up over that car this guy is just he doesn't care Wow you know when you're like tracking someone's mind you go at like a half speed they're full-on going down the strip I mean it's funny because like I know these things happen in the film I just never actively think about them when I'm watching a movie or watching a TV show I'm just in the story which means I guess they're doing a good job and never thinking to myself very often like I wonder what the crane looks like moving around the cars that's nuts man this BTS sequence of kidding season one I've never never seen this show where to look what's happening already they're changing the whole scene the coaches guys join the couch out of the room new rug new couch the lighting they're still going and now there's people I don't even know what to say because I'm so confused that was the most ridiculous continuous shot I've ever seen the set literally changed like six times both all the contents the people the lighting Wow I need to do a video on a continuous shot I think it's clear I have like a little bit of experience and when I say little I mean like like a rice grain of experience compared to that doing something similar in Kenya and and it was difficult just to do what I did that the choreography of the crew moving around themselves opposed to the actual camera moves and the actors all those moving parts that is like clockwork when they say that's like clockwork that is actually like the inside of a clock every I need to understand what actually happened here so like the apartment looks ghetto and then it's just going through change throughout this scene renovation you see you're hammering the wall and by the end of this one scene it's completely different she looks put together the apartment looks brand-new and incredible so they've transitioned from like a whole phase of her life within a minute in one continuous shot that's adds its sheer brilliance that's the best thing I've ever seen I think it might be okay we have one more one more from the same guy that did the s'mores at the very beginning so we just hit play it here and we check it out just see them in how oh it's one of those little barrel yes we need one of these lenses that little barrel lens I believe is waterproof - and look you can fit it through anything and everything's on these robotic arms look at that just poking through perfect precision one more time you see the shot you would think that's done in 3d you would think that's like you would not believe that's just done with an actual camera and that specific particular lens it's like all those scenes when like a bedroom is rotating they'll actually make the set and rotate the bedroom it's like I don't even know what's real that I just make vlogs we could be teaching a lot more stuff guys that was incredible I hope you were inspired by that not depressed like I was that's it for this video I hope you enjoyed watching these crazy filmmaking techniques it more so than than watching me react to them yes that's the title and that's what we did in this video but more so showing you some of the crazy stuff that happens behind the lens like when you pull everything away and you pull the veil away like this set all the stuff that's around me right now and around movies and vlogs and everything it's really quite fascinating seeing that other side of the camera for me anyway as a filmmaker and I'm assuming if you're watching this channel and you were learning the techniques of a filmmaker and photography and you're vlogging you are probably also interested in those types of things I would love to see more of that kind of stuff and I think maybe I might even focus more on making content that shows a little more into the world of like the behind the scenes and and the other side of the camera that I don't think we get to see enough because it's fascinating to me so if you think that's cool too let me know in the comments below if you've got any crazy shots that you've seen before let's chat about them below I'd love to see more of this stuff and that was just there's some cool things there's some super creative people out there and I mean this was just barely scraping the surface so I'm inspired and I'm kind of just I don't even know what I feel I'll just talk to you guys later get this mic out of my face [Music]
