I find that in the body of Christ there's a lot of great encouraging teaching out there focusing on the promises and blessings of God which is great there's over 3000 promises of God in the Bible but when we look at Moses there was just such a prolific man of God in fact he's the only one that God spoke mouth-to-mouth with as it were that Moses prayed a prayer Lord teach me your ways that I might know you and soon we talked about the promises of God the blessings of God the goodness of God it's not enough that we just throw that hope out there but we talked about how do we walk with God in the ways of God that can facilitate what he wants to bring about our lives hi Mark DuPont here with Manto praise ministries blessings to you and our hope is that today will not just be good teaching but will actually be life-changing as we talk about the ways of God this is dreams and mysteries today I'm actually speaking on breakthrough in times of breakdown and our jumping-off point is going to be Psalm 37 verses 18 and 19 this says the Lord knows the days of the blameless meaning if you Ryan in Christ forgiven of our sins because of what Jesus did the Father sees us as his blameless sons and daughters but he is aware of everything that goes on in our lives he is El Elyon Most High God he's aware of all the details even as Jesus said this over the mouth the father knows the numbers of hairs that are on her head he's aware of our needs even before we ask and so the psalmist continued the Lord knows the days of the blameless and the righteous will prosper even during a time of famine so there's a couple of important things there in that statement the righteous those in Christ Jesus but also by His grace walking with God and walk in the ways of God they shall prosper but we need to biblically define what prosperity is there's two words on when I in that context bring up one is wealth and the other is riches riches is an accumulation of money the goods and things of this world we would say somebody to own five homes and had fat bank accounts and stock investments we would say they are rich but wealth is something beyond that maybe not and beyond that numeric layer as far as quantity but wealth biblically speaking means you have the ability whether it's a lot or a little the ability to help and to serve others in Deuteronomy 8:18 the Lord said through Moses that God gives us the ability to create wealth going all the way back to some of the false teaching that emerged when the Greek influence began to hit the early days church the body of Christ there is sometimes and we still find this today in some Christian circles a false dichotomy between what is quote spiritual and what is quote in the natural and when we rule look at the beginning when God created the world he said it is good the world itself was good man was good and when he said man was good he wasn't just saying his creation but man created in God's image the ability to create and so of course when we talked about art and culture inventions technology of course those are things that can be used for evil but they can be used for so much good so much life but the same is also true of wealth a lot of Christians that think with this false dichotomy that what a spiritual spiritual and what's not is not spiritual they missed the whole point that God is God over everything obviously he's not God of sin and destruction but he can actually give us the ability to create wealth and then the question is what are we to do with it if it's just for the unholy trinity of me myself and I we find that selfish self-centeredness and that's what we would call riches black wealth means the abilities serve others and that brings the second verse I want to talk about which is 2nd Corinthians 9 chapter 8 that ah may God give us an abundance so that we may have the equipped for every good deed meaning to serve others to bless others as God speaks to us as theirs needs within perhaps one's family or one's home group or with a neighbor or one's Church but God's heart for us is not that we would just live in a survival mentality and then when we get to heaven be blessed of which goes without saying but you said I came that you might have life and have it abundantly so much of Kingdom living is actually counterintuitive in the ways of the world if we're going to talk about your soul being blessed and having to bless life with people would think about getting all you can and can you know you get holding tight to that and then possibly if you have just a little bit left over that you don't need maybe giving that away but jesus said these incredible words it's better to give than it is to receive love in the kingdom of God love biblically speaking is not a noun it's a verb God the Father John 3:16 so loved that he gave the only begotten Son so we to see these two things about God 1 that he's a lover but two that love manifest in the act of giving and so love is much more than just a 5 a feeling and it's even more than a theology although our theology is vitally important it's an action jesus said they will know you're my disciples by your love for one another Jesus did not say they will know you're my disciples by your revelation I love healings and miracles with someone with an uncurable sickness or disease is made well or someone in a possible situation all of a sudden so to speak God parts the waters and a breakthrough comes apart but likewise Jesus did not say they will know you're my disciples by your miracles he said they will know you're my disciples by your love for one another so if we understand the love is an action it's giving preferring and serving and we understand that God desires to give us the ability to create wealth we understand that the resource is when I talked about wealth and not just talking about money but I'm talking about abundance of maybe could be energy wisdom gifting talents as well distri sources then we understand that that's not for us although we can enjoy the blessings certainly but it's better to give than to receive and I like to say Kingdom living is in the given my dream I was standing on a bridge at night felt like I was being called to the other side but I was kind of afraid to cross the bridge however in the dream I somehow knew I needed to get across for my own sake as I started to walk toward the other side I could hear voices of friends over the years they were saying things like come back it's too dangerous but I kept going forward when I got halfway there I realized there's nothing pulling me back anymore I look forward and I ran toward the other side the closer I got the more freedom I felt when I reached the other side it was a new day and I woke up with a feeling of being released now let's interpret this dream a bridge in a dream often talks about transition and this dream is telling me that I'm going through a season in my life where many things are changing as I go through this time I will be remembering things from my past that will make me wonder if I'm going in the right direction however God is encouraging me and letting me know that although fear will try to hold me back as I continue to move forward I'll find greater and greater freedom from the things of the past when I make it it will be a brand new day God has concealed messages and the dreams we dream and as we search them out we learn more about his ways decades of study and thousands of dream interpretations gave John Paul Jackson a unique perspective on understanding dreams with the beginner's dream kit you'll into a crisis situation I remember very well back about 2008-2009 as you know the economy United States as well as in many countries internationally they tanked just whether we call it a recession or whatever it was that hit at that time we lived my wife and I our three kids lived in Ohio Ohio had quite a few manufacturing jobs but there were a lot of manufacturers that close her doors or close plants and as a result in cities like Cleveland and Cincinnati other places including my hometown at that time Dayton many people lost their jobs including many Christians and many people who had worked for years for a factory or for a company many of them lost everything they lost their mortgages obviously their houses they lost their savings they at the same time we saw a God do miracle after miracle we saw breakthroughs in times of breakdown we saw the righteous prosper even during a time of famine and so when crises hits and I'm not just talking about financial crisis but I'm also speaking about if there's a relationship crises that someone there's people you care deeply about all of a sudden there's a wall that is a division and how do we sort that out or maybe you're in a situation your great need at the moment is wisdom how do we sort that out what are the ways of God well one of the great examples of breakthrough in times of breakdown I believe is when Jesus gave the disciples a kingdom lesson in Matthew 14 in what's called the fish and loaves story but I believe it's a little bit of an misnomer to say the fish and loaves story it should be called the fish and loaves principle because it's a principle for effective kingdom living there were 5,000 men there but county women and children they were probably 15 to 20 maybe as many as 25,000 people there and all of these folks were out with Jesus in the bush they had not eaten for hours there's no stores there's no 7-elevens there's no McDonald's and you know they're all they're all quite hungry and the disciples recognize this need but their understanding or their perception of how to meet this need was what I like to refer to as horizontal or natural thinking and they said well let's send the people away to the villages so they can buy some food in contrast to that Jesus always did what I call vertical thinking his first thought was father what are you doing what are you saying what is your answer for the situation but you said no you don't need to do that you give them something to eat and this had to come across it's not just extreme but absolutely absurd to disciples because all they had was 5 loaves of bread and two fish it really probably wasn't enough for the 12 of them and Jesus but here he's saying feed the multitudes with now let me stop right there and just qualify what I'm saying that we don't need to pray about everything if you're standing in your front driveway and across the street the little boy kicks a ball out in the road and goes right after it and there's a car barreling down the road you don't need to stop and fast and pray about what you should just run out and get that little boy to harm's way so I'm not talking about you know becoming so spiritually minded that we're losing all common sense but what I am talking about is becoming Kingdom minded and this is one of the essential messages in fact it was the essential message that John the Baptist preached Jesus preached and he had the disciples preached repent the kingdom of God is at hand we have a lot of people in the body of Christ who think if they just get a touch from the Lord or they just get a word from the Lord I have a certain experience everything's going to be brand new but usually when God speaks to you when he releases something to you it's an invitation to bring your thinking as well as your actions into line with his thinking and obedience down and that calls for renewed mindset proverbs 3:5 says lean not to understanding but trust the Lord with all of your heart and it begin if we go back to talking about what John the Baptist preached Jesus preached what Jesus instructed the twelve just to preach was the kingdom of God is at hand and so repent and the word repent it's come to mean over the years just to stop sinning to stop bad behavior and to show grief over that etc well that can be part of the repentance process but that word pent in the original language it's the same word that we would use for a penthouse apartment or a penthouse hotel room to be at a high place looking down and so really we would say to repent means to bring our thinking into alignment with the will of God and we see in so many situations in life of Jesus and even men and women throughout not only the New Testament the Old Testament doing things that seem counterintuitive like for example King Jehoshaphat in front of up vast army greater than his own army of Judah he sends the worshipers out in front well that doesn't make any sense the worshipers must have thought well we're just fodder for the enemy to waste their arrows on but Jehoshaphat understood that worship and praise the proclamation God's goodness goes before everything first Corinthians 2:9 says that God has far more for those who love them then our eyes have seen our ears have heard more than we can understand and so when we begin to get invasion in like Jesus in vertical thinking we're thinking father what do you want to do what do you want to say what are you up to and when Jesus looked he saw the same crowd the disciples saw he saw 1520 thousand people that were all hungry he saw that there were no stores no provision nearby he saw there only five loaves and two fish but he saw more than that he saw the father's provision and Jesus said to them give me what you have this is the first step in this principle that is bird give and receive and times for breaked in order for breakthrough they'd like to talk about taking what you have even if it means sacrificially and putting it in the hands of Jesus the ways of the world are and even the ways of many Christians unfortunately that if you just have a whole lot and you've got a lot left over after your own needs then of course maybe share some of that but it is better to give and receive and especially when that giving is sacrificial it was all they had but just said give me what you have and maybe we are in a very complex situation we feel like we're lacking and wisdom it could be financial resources it could be time energy no matter what we're lacking when we come into a crisis situation take what you have and put it in the hands of Jesus and so they gave Jesus what they had and it says Jesus lifted up his eyes he wasn't counting the clouds he was focused on the Father the father's resources he was focused on Jehovah Jireh the God who will provide and he blessed it he blessed it in light of the fact that nothing with God is impossible there are moments in life when we need God to move in power in times like these we need breakthrough faith for your gift of $45 or more you'll receive these teaching CDs storms faith and the miraculous how God kills fear healings and measures of faith as well as where's God when life doesn't turn out his planned visit dreams in mysteries.com or call one eight hundred five three eight five two eight five today to request your breakthrough faith series he took that meager provision that they had the natural the five loaves and two fish and he blessed it he blessed it and we think well a blessings nice they say a blessing over dinner before we eat it or we say God bless you and somebody sneezes but one of the things I think we need to rediscover is proverbs 18:21 it says there is power in the mouth in the tongue in fact it says there is life and death bounded out of the tongue those who love it will eat its fruit the one of the very first pictures of God in fact it is the first picture of God we have in the entire Bible is Genesis chapter 1 it says the earth was formless and void in fact it says in the Hebrew that there was chaos upon the earth some theologians believe that it may have been just prior to that that Satan who was the chief of the worship leaders worshipping angels was cast down from mountain of Lord but some theologians believe he came to earth at that time in revenge against God wanted to destroy his creation and God looked at it it says in Genesis chapter 1 with the Spirit of God hovering there and rather than just blowing it off because of all the problems the chaos and whatnot he spoke words of life and blessings he said let there be light let there be vegetation he spoke words of life blessing and you know most Christians would agree it's not healthy to swear but actually biblically speaking what is swearing is it simply to use a quote a four-letter word or is it to grumble and complain for example if we were to look at Philippians 2:14 all said do all things with grumbling and contention I believe that no matter what the situation no matter what the problems are if we look at that situation could be our job could be a frustrating relationship could be our current finances could be a million-in-one things but if we look at that situation and we begin to grumble and complain I believe in effect were swearing because we're actually professing more faith in the problem to prevail and impact our lives then we're professing faith in God to be able to do something about it and we look at so many examples from out the Bible like one of the most powerful ones is Jacob Jacob his very name meant the liar the thief the usurper and he'd lied to his father Isaac and just created incredible tensions between him and his older brother he and his older brother Frank where his older brother Esau actually wanted to kill him and in point of fact he's now running for his life but just prior to that it says that his father Isaac blessed him and then as he's running for his life ends up having the meeting of a lifetime with God that gave him prophetic words about his future it's destiny that set him on the road to healing and wholeness and for example I encourage most Christians to try to show up one day a week at least 15-20 minutes early in their job whether they sit in their car or maybe they have some privacy in an office and just near as possible location speaking blessings upon that business speaking blessings upon their employers their supervisor no matter how difficult the situation may be presently we can import life by blessing we're created in God's image and just as he spoke and life came forward we can speak words that bring change and bring healing and so Jesus blessed the food and then he said to disciples begin to give it away and it is so important as you and I if we're parents looking our children or even with our spouses with our jobs with our church no matter what you may think of what the political the current political system is in governmental system and your what you think of your leaders if we would just begin to bless them and intercede for them we can bring changes because again the first picture we have have gotten all the Bible is speaking words of life and life came forward and to a degree I'm not saying exactly the same we are not God we are his sons and daughters in Christ but being like our Heavenly Father as we speak words of blessing it imparts hope faith it changes things after Jesus had blessed the five those into fish he then has struck the disciples and giving them back to the sciples to have everybody sit down in groups of 50 sit down in the grass and then to begin to receive now this seems a little bit inconsequential well why won't they sit down to eat but is a very important kingdom dynamic and it is this that it's very hard to receive from the Lord when you're striving relaxing is a paramount importance to receiving it goes to relax means you're trusting the father again one of the names of God that we talked about earlier is El Elyon which means Most High God but he's God over every detail of your life he knows your needs in before you ask as he said to Jeremiah knows all of his days before one of them began and God is watching over you and I soak clearly and carefully but when we're in a place of striving we can actually hinder the work of God in our life there's a great promise from Isaiah the prophet that says the mind that's kept in the Lord he will keep in perfect peace when we've done all that we can do we are to trust in God's care that God would give us the wisdom we need it will give us the favor we need he can open doors for us I think of David you know the lover of God the man of God the man after God's own heart in psalm 40 metaphorically he said he was in a pit of my reclaim meaning he was in a problem way over his head that he could not climb out of he could not solve that problem in his own ability but it says he waited patiently up on the Lord and as David waited upon the Lord he said the Lord lifted him up so does feed upon a rock and that's a picture of being established in the rock of our salvation Jesus I love what Saint Francis of Assisi said to evangelize always and when complete necessary use words and the meaning there is that our whole life is to be an evangelistic statement of God's goodness of His grace and His mercy and especially during those times where we just feel like oh what's happening how are we going to get out of this we're trapped there's no way out but to just rest in the Lord that doesn't mean we don't pray that doesn't mean we don't serve that doesn't mean we don't give but we're doing it from a place of receiving because you cannot give what you don't receive and so they had them suit in the grass groups of 50 and the disciples fed everybody and I love it it says everybody ate and was satisfied and sometimes what gets Christians in trouble is because we're not trusting God we take things in their own hands we try to make things work we come up with our own solutions and we do eat we do partake but it doesn't have the satisfaction of realizing what the father's greater purposes were what the father's provision are behold what manner of love God has given to us that we should be called the children of God and as well every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights mark practical way to order your breakthrough package visit us at dreams in mysteries.com or call one eight hundred five three eight five two eight five let me just simply say this that if we are willing to trust God to the point Kingdom living is in the giving that is the nature of the Father he so loved that he gave his best Jesus and so even if humanly spanking as we lean into our own understanding we fall into this trap of horizontal thinking me thinking well we've just got a hold tight to what we have but that's really a sign of the orphan spirit clinging tight to what you have but the spirit of sonship is freely giving because we freely receive from our Father and so if we will take what we have put in the hands of Jesus whether it's a little bit of wisdom little bit of time little bit of resources no matter what the problem is that we feel we're coming up short in put it in the hands of Jesus and involve Kingdom thinking vertical thinking rather than leaning to our understanding horizontal thinking and speak words of blessing as well as pray we then begin to serve him we begin to give and that is one of the great keys to breakthrough living even in a time of breakdown never forget the word of God the righteous will prosper even during the time of famine I want to pray particularly for you if you're going through something that you feel you can relate to David's metaphoric pit of miry clay you're in a situation you just can't get free of you've employed all the wisdom and strategizing you can come up with you try this try that but you need the hand of el-shaddai God Almighty to move for you father I bless people in the name of Jesus who are watching this today are with us in the World Wide Web or anything else I just bless them and father I ask the name of Jesus that is they trust you and they take what they have and put in your hands however you direct them to do that but as they employ Kingdom living they'll experience your kingdom giving father may we be a people who as Paul said in second corinthians 9:8 have the abundance for every good deed for serving and I pray for breakthroughs of wisdom breakthroughs for opportunity breakthroughs of resources that we could say that in all things God's care is good is loving kindness endures forever and it never ceases thank you for watching this episode of dreams and mysteries a march upon God bless you
