father we thank you tonight we bless your holy name for showing us mercy thank you for your goodness and thank you for your love father tonight we pray once again brief your grace over our lives and minister to our hearts of god and lift our burdens from our shoulders and give us elimination for our life we thank you for in jesus name we pray amen let me read one or two bible passages before we get to the word i'm sure i didn't give you that romans chapter 8 verse 28 that every christian should know that passage by our hearts by now romans 8 28 and we know that in all things god works for the good of them that love him who are called according to his purpose we know that in all things god works for the good of those who love him who are called according to his purpose the next scripture i want to read for you is acts chapter 2 acts chapter 2 verse 22 and 23 men of israel hear these words jesus of nazareth a man attested by god to you by miracles by wonders and signs which god did through him in your midst as you yourself also know him haven't been delivered by the predetermined purpose and knowledge of god he was delivered for death by the predetermined purpose and knowledge of god i want to speak briefly to us tonight before we go on with the musical concert on walking in purpose with god walking in purpose with god god is a purpose driven personality god is purpose-driven in the creation of the world god had purpose in creating the world every animal every flora every microorganism every flower every seed every wood every creature every beetle every mosquito every cockroach every bird every fish there is a purpose for which god created them there is a purpose because god does everything according to purpose it does everything according to purpose number two even in the creation of mankind there is a purpose in the creation of people god does not just second guess you know he wakes up and he said to mubarak some of you mini mini mickey maca you know that god does not just congress he did not make man and then he began to ask himself what shall we not do with man god decided in advance what he was going to do with man before he created man he decided in advance for instance what he was going to do with me or rather god had an assignment to be accomplished to be completed to be executed and so he sat down and he said well which person can complete that assignment let us create somebody who will accomplish that assignment you were not designed before your assignment your assignment was determined and crafted before you were designed i hope somebody is listening to me tonight god determined your assignment before he designed you that's why you are equal to your assignment whatever dream whatever vision whatever impression god has planted in your heart he has already designed and wired you to accomplish that dream and that vision i hope somebody will say amen there so you are not an accident god was very deliberate in making you you know growing up i wish that i you know i had a pointed nose but i realized that god designed my nose the way he designed my nose because of the assignment he has given me he wanted me to have a capacity for smelling well look at jeremiah chapter 1 verse 4 i want us to look at jeremiah 1 verse 4. he said that before i formed you i knew you jeremiah 1 4. he said before i formed you i knew you he said the word of the lord came to me saying go ahead please he said before i formed you i knew you and i designed you to be something for me before i formed you in the womb i knew you look at it before you were formed look at it before you were conceived there was first purpose i knew you god had knowledge he had purpose there was something he wanted to do with you so purpose preceded design purpose preceded conception after god determined decided what he was going to do with you that is when you were now conceived so god now decided for instance he said um i'm going to i'm going to get a truck driver i want to design a trucker somebody who can carry full stop from walmart in atlanta georgia to saint paul minnesota so now god decided and he now decided that your parents will come from different parts of the world one of them might have been a drunkard the other one might even have schizophrenia but both of them will come together and put the seed that will produce you so your parents are good but they were only vehicles some of them contributed in mentoring you some of them contributed in in providing for you some of them contributed in fathering you and taking good care of you but whether they did that or not the purpose of god for your life will still have come to pass oh come on are you listening to me tonight that's why the job said in job 42 verse 2 he said that i know that you know all things and no purpose of yours can be thwarted no purpose of yours can be disrupted no purpose of yours will not come to pass and no one that jesus christ taught us to pray he said when we pray we pray our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come your will be done on earth your will be done in my life as it has already been planted or scripted in heaven there is a blueprint there is a prototype there is an ideal there is a map there is a design of what you are supposed to be to accomplish on earth god has designed it that blueprint is there if you kind of outside that blueprint it makes your life so much easier because you don't beat about the bush yesterday passed again he said something it's a vision gives clarity it produces simplicity because you know what to do you are not running a mock you are not running strangely and wildly trying to do everything why because you know purpose look at um galatians 1 15 and 16. galatians 1 15 and 16. he said but when he please god paul was speaking he said when he please god who separated me from my mother's home look at it who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through his grace be plea i want you to get this tonight because it will make your life so much easier he said god separated you from where your mother's home not after you got to america and the immigration policies are making life difficult for you god had already determined that one day by his mercy and grace you will be in this place of you don't know whether to say a man or not but i want to say amen for everybody who needs anime in that one so whether you flush your passport down the tube whether you swam across the pacific thank god that it is cuba and haiti that is close to miami if it was nigeria close to miami hey by by aircraft or by other crafts they will all be here they will get to miami you are here you are here tell somebody i am here [Applause] and god will keep you here in jesus name so paul says he said it pleased god to separate me from my mother's womb and then he called me through his grace and he revealed to me what i was going to do that i will preach to the gentiles so his design was very simple and clear so god first created the why before he made the words why must i make mudupe why must i make a henry why must i make a part of us why must i make a christopher he meets him and then he gives him the what he's going to do sometimes though in a walk with god and i hope you can grab this god may give you the what before he gives you the why for you were sanctified that is set apart by god giving you your proclivities the things that you would love to do you were sanctified by them so that now god gives you he ordains you he ordains you he sets you apart so that you can go ahead and do his will so you need to understand that you are not here by accident you were called for a purpose paul was called for a purpose esther was called for a purpose joshua was made for a purpose moses was made for a purpose elijah was made for a purpose now can i hear your name you were made for you are not useless you are not insignificant there is something special there is something providential there is something uniquely divine about your life not just the stars or the superstars but even you as insignificant as you may think you are you know some children have great dreams a dream they have this high falutin lofty dreams of greatness as young children and yet some others what do you want to be i don't know the other day i was in dallas and one comedian was saying that one day he asked his son what what do you want to be and the boy said he wants to be a geologist and he went and tried to find out what a geologist is it's discovered that a jolly geologist oh no archaeologists you see archaeologists are people who go from country to country studying stones and he told god what did i do wrong that my son would go around storing stones there's something about you that is great amen when we read um acts chapter 13 verse 36 let's say acts 13 36 the bible says for david after he has served his generation let's have it in the old king james by the purpose of god by the purpose of god which is another word for the will of god after he has served his generation by the will of god or the purpose of god he fell asleep essentially he died and he was buried because he served his generation by the purpose of god so david's great greatness was predicated on the fact that god had designed him to do something in his generation and what was that for samuel chapter 16 verse 1 we see what david was specifically designed to do first samuel 16 verse 1. he said that now the lord said to samuel how long will you mourn for saul saw the first king of israel saying i have rejected him from reigning over israel fill your hand with all and go i am sending you to jesus the bethlehem bethlehemite for i have provided myself a king among his sons so very simple i'm going to give you a simple test here now what was the specific narrow sixth purpose of david on earth what was it to be a king david was specifically created and look at the oddity with his antecedent look at the ignominy with his historicity there was nothing really noble about david his great-grandmother was a prostitute rahab was a prostitute his other grandmother was a product of incest ruth one of the granddaughters of lots whose daughter slept with him and then that generation became moab and all of that and ruth was born his great-grandfather did not marry early in life became the the the talk of the time what's wrong perhaps this man is supposed to be a in rome working with reverend fathers or perhaps it's important and then his father had a couple of a couple of women and david was born look at his story essentially rejected by his family but yet this man unseemly at the same inauspicious as it appeared was designed specifically to become a king i want you to hear me tonight i don't know what your story is i don't know what your background is i don't know whether you are it's something that you cannot talk about in public i i don't know the struggles and the brokenness you've gone through life i don't know whether you were raped like somebody listening to me tonight you're raped i'm broken and and and yeah you are tormented by the experiences of the shame and the and the rejection and the humiliation you went through the hand of god is upon your life david while the friends will not let him play with them because his father was not noble or his story was not double yet this man was going to be the next king of israel my friend do you know and i bring you the word of god today there is greatness in your life and god is taking you somewhere eyes have not sinned yes i've never heard neither has it entered into the heart of mind but god is taking you somewhere god is taking you somewhere god is taking you somewhere and wherever god has designed for you you will get there [Music] [Applause] look at the story in shame and humiliation and this man was multi-gifted until gifted god called him aren't i gifted and do you know something some of you are so gifted but because you don't belong to a class you are always struggling to enter that class you are struggling they did not give you actually you buy your own you buy you buy your own and you show up early with a rented car a flamboyant rental car because you have to let them know that what they can do metroid can do you don't need that struggle you don't need that struggle because where god has designed for you my friend if they reject you in their class where god has resigned designed for you is higher than the class if they reject you in their circle where god has designed for you is higher than their circle and if you stay connected to god sooner or later god will elevate you oh do i have a witness here he will lift you up he will lift you up he will lift you up this this was the david who wrote some 18 35 he said your gentleness has made me great from nothing else he became a great man this is david so he was multi-gifted he was a musician multi-talented musician he played different instruments if you read the psalms you hear him talking about worshiping the lord in in multi multiple strength instruments with the symbol and the at the tambourine and the and the on the 10th string instrument he was a singer an accomplished singer because in first time your chapter 16 not long after his anointing you notice that saul had a problem and david was the one who was there playing music playing and singing for the man who had demons he was a poet you read the psalms and look at the beautiful poem that he wrote the lord is my shepherd i shall not want he makes me to lie down in greek person there's a story of him it's a story of an actor who every time he finishes finishes his performance he will recite some 2023 he will recite it every time he finishes performance and when he does with all the the flair and the eloquence and the nuances and the dexterity of an accomplished speaker the crowd will walk they will roar they will applaud him they will stand up and clap for him and one of those days he finished in this crowd and there was an old man who was nearby and said can i can i also recite some 23. the old man got up and he started the lord is my shepherd i shall not want he makes me to lie down in green pastures by the time he was done there was not a single dry eye in the audience people were whipping tears were running down and the actor in one arm and looked at the arm and i said what happened what's the difference i i have done this many times over and i hear the rule on the applause of the cloud but yeah you did it in a few minutes and people are whipping they might say yes i know the difference you know the psalm i know the shepherd you know how to recite it but i know how to live it i have experienced it in my life that was the story of david he did not just write it as a perm he lived out the experience of the lord has shepherded in difficult and trying times david was a musician he was a poet he was a songwriter he was also a political leader because he was king he was a military leader because he was a commander of forces and he vanquished his enemies but more than that david was a prophet that's the part i loved the most he was a prophet it was a man of god who could articulate the cancers of god and articulate the visuals of god let me let me let's look some psalm 110 psalm 1101-4 quickly let's look at it psalm 114. let's see what david said let's see what david said he said that he said the lord said to my god sit at my right hand until i make your enemies your footstool he says so the lord we shall send the road of your strength out of zion rule in the midst of your enemies your people shall be shall volunteer essentially your people shall be willing in the dead of your power and the in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning you have the jew of your youth verse four look at what david said he said the lord has sown and will not with the lent you are a priest forever after the order of easter eggs it was david that gave that prophecy much later jesus was quoting it much later in the book of hebrews it was again amplified david was a prophet and i want you to hear me tonight every one of you who is a believer you're a prophet for god you're a prophet for god a prophet is not one who says ah my people my people i i my people my people i forgot what i was going to say i'm not a prophet a prophet is simply somebody who talks about the beauty the goodness the greatness and the marvels of god a witness for god so if you're a teacher christian teacher you're a prophet if you're a businessman you're a prophet you're a cab driver you're a prophet you're a doctor you're a prophet you're a professional you're a prophet you're a pilot you're a prophet because in the old testament when the holy ghost the holy spirit was first given to the 70 elders look at it in number chapter 11 verse 25 let's look at it the bible says that when the holy spirit came on all of them they all prophesied they all prophesied which is simply to say the wonders of god when the spirit rested upon them they prophesied although they have never done that before and two of them out of the 70 who were not where moses wanted them to be they were in the camp they were in mcdonald's when they ought to be in church and they too even in that place they began to prophesy and a young boy who was there ran and told moses moses two of your leaders are in my journals when they ought to be in the prayer meeting they're making prophesy joshua got angry and say hey let them stop scroll down joshua got angry he said forbid them look at what moses said he said are you zealous for my sake or oh that all the lost people were prophets and that the lord will raise his spirit upon them you know that prophecy was fulfilled when jesus said that when i go my spirit will come and let him that believes in john chapter seven he cried out the bible says on allah jesus cried out he said anyone that believes in me out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters he was talking not about ordinary water but he was talking about the holy spirit so you are supposed to be a christian prophet i'm going to give you two other bible passages look at acts chapter 2 acts chapter 2 on the day when the holy ghost came on the day on the day of pentecost when the holy spirit came look at what happened acts chapter 2 verse 4 verse 8 and verse 11 acts chapter 2. he said and they were all filled with the holy spirit and they began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them all trust now i know what we tell people that when you receive the baptism of the holy spirit you are supposed to speak in other tongues but what was peculiar about the holy spirit that these people received on that day was that verse 8 you see and the people say how is it that we hear each in our own language in which we were born the people heard them in their language if you look at the category of people who were in in in jerusalem today there were many from different nations from mexico potential from from kapodisia from pontus from jerusalem from judea from from ellen from medici from fibre from paphila from egypt they all heard the language of the apostles as the believers as they received the baptism of the holy spirit in their own language what were they saying look at verse 11 what were they saying when the holy spirit came on them what were they saying we hear them speaking in our own talks what were they speaking the wonderful works of god are you supposed to declare the wonderful works of god talk to me somebody are you supposed to that's the purpose of god for your life so that you can declare the wonderful words of god as a prophet whatever your role is as a businessman you're a prophet let me give you another bible genesis chapter 20 genesis chapter 20 verse one two four i'll summarize that abraham had gone to uh to to uh to this city egypt where the king was abuelic and the man took at the king of gerard he took sarah and god came to abimelech by night look at verse 3. he told him he said you're a dead man so you're a dead man he said because of the woman whom you have taken for she's another man's wife and the man almost you know had a heart attack i didn't know he was another man's wife what did god tell him verse 11. look at what god told him in verse 11. he said because this man abraham is a prophet look at it no verse 7 please verse 7 verse whatsoever he said now therefore restore the man's wife for he is what say it to me everybody is a prophet but abraham was not a prophet in that context he was just a businessman whom god had called to leave his home now why am i saying this to you today i want you to know your classification in god i want you to know your labeling god you're a housewife you're a prophet or a prophetess you're a house husband you're a prophet you're a student you're a student prophet you're a cab driver you're a cab driver prophet you're a teacher you're a teacher prophet oh do i have a witness here tonight you are a prophet to declare the oneness of god so david was a musician he was a singer he was a poet but he was also a prophet and so are you because the purpose of god are upon your life it's obvious i'm not going to finish this message tonight but i'm just laying a foundation because i want to do a series on this later on but let me wrap it up look at this davis there were two pillars that governs david's life two pillars number one the fact that he worked according to the purpose of god acts chapter 13 verse 36 we've seen that number two is the fact that he served his generation he served his generation he served his generation acts chapter 3 chapter 13 verse 36 he was he walked according to the purpose of god number two he served his generation so that means if you are going to fulfill purpose you are going to fulfill it according to the will of god number two you are going to serve your generation purpose is about service it's about being a servant the more people you serve the more influence you are mass the more people you serve the more money you make they get the more people that use your computers the more money you make amazon the more people that buy things online the more money you make the more people you serve the more money you make lebron james the more people that pack the stadium to watch you play the more money the more influence you have so many of you do not want to serve you don't want to serve and you are looking for the limelight you are looking for that day when you strike it big the day you take on goliath you're not thinking about the things you do in private that prepares you for taking on goliath i i read the story one of these days on a social media post of a horse who was supposed to be a warrior horse and he was designed to be a warrior horse to self monarchs and so while he was preparing and waiting to be hired by a king somebody showed up and said that well i am i am i am a farmer i'm looking for a horse that will help me in walking in my farm the horse said no i've been designed to serve only monarchs oh really good and while he was waiting another man came around who does horse racing he said i'm looking for a horse that can help me in horse racing they all say no i'm designed to serve only a monarch so it turned out on the 1st of february a couple of kings came around and they were auditioning for horses that they will hire and this horse showed up they said before we hire you we're going to put you to the test let's see how fast you can run let's see how hard you can work this raw horse hadn't run 20 meters when he started painting he had all the makeup the mascaras the designer shoes the designer shirt he was panting and the king said no you are not going to serve us by the designer exterior so you now see they disqualified that horse while their house was preparing to run to serve monarchs if it had worked with the farmer what do you think would have happened to his energy level grow stronger if it had worked with the horse trainer what do you think would have happened to his speed and capacity for endurance it would have lasted i said this to some of you here today you don't want to do the millionaire jobs now you don't want to do it you don't want to do the things that appear insignificant all you're waiting for you're waiting for the day when you mount set on stage and everybody will ask for your autograph you may never get there you know you may never get there because the bible says that is the man who is faithful in a little thing that will get bigger things oh may god help you in jesus name i i i i want to i want to end this message but let me give you one other passage psalm 78 some 78 verse 70 and 70 17 70 71 72 some 78 77 172 can i have it please 70 some 78 70 71 72 he said from following the ears he said he chose david also his servant and where did god pick him from from the sheep fools from following the years which is the young of the sheep he said that he brought him to feed jacob his people and israelis inheritance so when david came what did he do he fed them with like with the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands the things that he learned while he was working with cattle was what he now used to serve god as a king i want to pray so that we can give room for more of what we're going to do tonight i want to pray with you let's bow our heads in prayer tonight thank god let's see prayer tonight working in purpose with god working in purpose with god tonight if you hear my voice the lord says do not hurt in your heart some of you have been called to be seven but you don't want to serve you don't want to serve you think that serving is beneath you when jesus christ became a servant perhaps that's what that's your pathway to greatness anointing for greatness is not to be at the apex with nothing as your foundation the pathway to greatness is to have a foundation upon which you can build so that when you become a great man you are not swayed away by the by the the applause by the pomp and the pageantry of the position of greatness tonight father i pray for your people oh god there's somebody here who ought to be a servant who ought to serve serving their offices serving their home serving their church father i ask you today that you will stir their hearts of god you will tear their hearts and bring them to a place where they will be broken before you bring them to a place where they are willing to commit to you in the name of jesus christ heavenly father i pray for those of them here tonight who feel they are worthless who feel they are useless i want to pray for that category specific specifically you feel you are worthless you feel you are useless you think there's nothing to your life i want you to stand up wherever you are let me pray for you there's somebody here like that tonight you think there's nothing of value to your life don't stand up let me pray for you stand up i want to pray for you is there anybody like that you feel you are worthless you feel you are useless you don't think the hand of god is upon you yes just stand up let me pray with you stand up stand up stand up i'm trusting god the grace of god to touch you right now do i see anybody there is nobody standing up father i pray for grace upon your people tonight i pray for your mercy upon your people tonight that out of this place they will go out and live out their lives in your according to your will serve their generation according to the purpose of god i ask you father let there be a stirring in every heart here today that will bring us closer to the place where you are we thank you and we bless you tonight in the name of jesus christ is there somebody here tonight who want to be born again you're not born again and you want to give your life to christ or you're back sleeping just thrust your hand up in the air let me pray with you you're back sleeping and you want to rededicate yourself to god i want to pray with you tonight anybody here thrust up your hand in the air i don't see no hand my father we thank you we commit the rest of this meeting into your hands we ask you the lord you'll minister life to us let it be an exciting time time of power a time of refreshing time of great grace we bless you for in jesus name we pray and the people of god say
