student and the time of the program is purple is a purposeful living so we are going to pray that the purpose of god for these children will be actualized in their life in the name of jesus christ of nazareth so i'll start with reading chapter uh jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5. it says before i found okay it's out there before i found the in the belly annuity and before the alchemist out of the womb i sanctified it and attended a prophet praise the lord in other words before they were conceived god already had the image of who they will become in life and before they were born before they came out god already sanctified them in other words he set them apart for his glory for his use and then he ordained them he empowered them they gave them certain and specific giftings for them to be able to fulfill his plan and purpose in their life so tonight we are going to pray that the plan and purpose of these children of god in the lives of these children will be manifested in your life it will become a reality in the name of jesus if you love your children i want you to pray if you don't have a child right now you are going to have children in future i want you to pray for your children even the singles i want you to begin to pray for your children pray for your grandchildren in the name of jesus almighty most merciful god we want to thank you for these children heavenly father we pray that in the name of jesus they will walk the path of life man lord that we fulfill purpose in the mighty name of jesus christ of nazareth my lord your anointing upon them heavenly father we pray that it will bring them out that anointing we begin to speak for their life in the name of jesus it will speak your grace it will speak up your it will speak greatness it will speak honor my lord it will release your fragrance wherever they go they will find favor my lord and my god if we bring back and women that we speak on their behalf that destiny help us in the name of jesus christ of nazareth blessed be your holy name blessed be the king of glory in jesus christ's most precious name we pray the bible says in psalm 119 verse 105 it says that the word of god is a lamp to my feet and a light in my path and in some water it says the the word of god give that a light and understanding to the simple so we are going to pray that they will not walk in error they will walk in the light of god they will not walk in darkness all the days of their life god will guide and direct them if we give them instruction he will teach them in the past that they will go in the name of jesus they will not fall prey into the hands of the enemy i hope you are praying let us pray for our children malevolent rebels father we lift up our children onto your hands we lift up the children of city of david the enemy will not have power or dominion over them in the name of jesus your hand will rest upon them you will anoint them for greatness in the name of jesus christ of nazareth where we seek after you they will love you they will know your word your heavenly father in the name of jesus they will walk the path of righteousness the work of the path of purity in the name of jesus christ of imaginations and every heightened that exalts itself against the knowledge of god and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of christ praise the lord we know that our children are facing a lot of challenges challenges that we did not face in our own time you have the the internet there you know and parents are so busy they don't even have enough time for the children these days so their mind has become a stronghold for the enemy tonight you are going to put on those strongholds in the name of jesus whatever the enemy has used to corrupt the mind of our children let's erase them by the blood of the lamb in the name of jesus let the blood begin to speak on their behalf in the mighty name of jesus open your mouth and begin to pray for your children if you love your child begin to pray for them every evil imagination that the enemy have put in the mind of our children let me cleanse it by the blood of jesus pray that the word of god will break every resistance and every hard-heartedness every form of stubbornness in the heart of any child in the name of jesus christ of nazareth they are hard to become a heart of flesh not a heart of sin in the name of jesus let us pray and cover these children with the blood of jesus almighty and was merciful god we lift up our children before you heavenly father we pray oh god almighty the lord whatever may have had in the heart of god whatever we may cause them to resist your word which will give them divine direction let it be destroyed let it be broken by the hammer of god's word in the name of jesus and let the fire of god consume everything that is not of god in the name of jesus christ of nazareth we pray lord that you will ignite them ignite their life ignite their heart oh god we shall put your word in the for greatness today we'll be having an interesting discussion on the topic titled technology and young minds my name is fola kemi palmer and in the studio today with me i have some of our children from dunamis world city of david atlanta so am i right i have amaraji bhaji in sixth grade brendan philarin in sixth grade joshuachi bolo in fifth grade emmanuel wachuku in seventh grade amelia and mike in sixth grade say i'm eligible in seventh grade latino in seventh grade welcome guys good to have you i know technology is one discussion everybody is interested in in the past one year especially during the kobe we've all had to use technology at one point or the other for shopping for church for school to connect with our families what do you think about technology do you think it's all good or it's all bad we're going to have an interesting discussion with our children today they're going to give us a different perspective to what technology is all about technology is not all good or all bad but what we intend to achieve today is to set healthy boundaries for our children what are they listening to who are they listening to how does this affect their identity that's what we hope to achieve today so guys let's roll let's talk about it when you hear the word technology what comes to your mind samuel can you give us a brief discussion or a brief explanation of your own perspective of technology when somebody says technology what comes to your mind when i hear the word technology i think about i guess the everything new invented like from smartphones to tvs to cars and the innovation of what's being created that's the technology the improvement of old things making it new with new abilities and helping to grow and evolve and evolve that's good thank you so much for that explanation um does anybody have any other thing you want to add to it aside for invention of all things what do you think what do you think anybody else before we move on okay emmanuel can you give us your ex what do you as a person as an individual what do you use technology for what do you use it for well i use technology for school research playing games communicating with my family and friends that's a good one you mentioned there you said games what kind of games do you play any other person play games do you play games on your computer not really not really okay so what kind of games do you play emmanuel well i play games like subway surfers roblox slytherio etc how much time would you say you use on technology daily samuel sorry um joshua probably i'm sorry probably about like probably half of the day depending on what comes up because when i get on the electronic i forget about what i'm actually supposed to be doing at that time so end up taking out more like two hours at least which is not the best thank you joshua for that honest answer i really really love so i'm gonna delve into that discussion a little bit more so when you get on the computer or on your laptop or whatever device you're using sometimes you intend to just go do something but along the line you find yourself doing something else is that true yes because sometimes i'll be like oh you need to check something like oh i need to check a soccer game and i end up playing roblox like for the rest of the day and when you do that you end up spending so many hours yes okay thank you and i know you're not the only one in that shoe and that's why we're having this discussion today thank you so amaraji what other things do you as a person do on your technology on your devices what do you do so on my devices sometimes you can use it for learning for entertainment to like chat with your friends and like etc when you say you chat with your friends what do you guys chat about can you lead me can i have some idea of what you guys chat about when you chat with your friends so like if so like a few days ago like yesterday we were chatting about like meeting up because of my birthday sometimes we talk about what happens in school and just like what's happening in their life and yeah that's good once you use it positively that's okay all right bolo i'm coming to you do you think there's actually a chance where we spent too much or money is always in your face like oh or daddy or somebody is like all over you just disturbing you about the number of hours you spend do you think there's actually a point where we do too much on that devices um yes i actually do because last year um i spent um every um weekday on my device for school so like i would have to stay on my device between classes and um beyond zoom but um this year is a little better because i'm in person and we don't use our computers as much okay that's good so in viewers i'm gonna be going around now to all of you i want you to tell me what do you think are some of the pros and cons of technology do you think there are some advantages to it and do you think there are some disadvantages to it it doesn't matter which aspect you talk about it i just want to have your own view of what you think it is your pros and cons so i'll go with brendan first what what are some of the pros and cons of technology some pros of technology or like i mean a lot of stuff new stuff has been made like um vacuum cleaners that automatically clean your floor and um new cars and stuff and some cons are that like people are getting drawn to techno a lot more people are getting drawn to technology and jobs are getting replaced with technology okay good thank you for that yeah a lot of jobs a lot of things you can you know i know a lot of um amazon echo dot now you say alexa clean that floor for me explain that i know a lot of us are doing that that is good but what other things what other angle do you want to talk about technology the pros and cons emmanuel you have anything to tell me about that yes some pros technology is used as a communicating device so say that you have a friend from work school or any other place and you haven't spoken with that person for a very long time but you and your friend have a device and there's social media like facebook instagram google hangouts you can talk with your friends and you can communicate each with your devices and also so another pro is that technology can help save time and what i mean by this is say that you have something very important to do online but you're always finding a hard time looking at the clock but your device will have a clock clock in online so you don't have to run around looking at the clock because of something you have to do on the internet thank you so much emmanuel um samuel are there times when you're playing games i know i know you play games because i need your shirt plays games so i want to assume you have friends that you play games with us i know some of you watch shows are there times where your parents mom and dad pop in to see what you're actually watching do they set time limits boundaries for you on your devices how much time you can spend with your friends is there any time like that they sit down with you to actually watch what you watch with you yes at times my parents check in on me to see what i'm watching most of the time they don't let me go to my they won't let me like go to an isolated place because they want to know what i'm watching to keep me safe and usually usually i have to do a bunch of work around the house before i can actually touch electronics and when i do it's for a certain time and then i get off and i know most times when they do that you're like oh these people are always disturbing me riding my business i know their feelings that's okay we just want to be sure that our children are saved and that's one of the reasons why we are here today okay another thing i want to ask as a person do you think this interferes with your study your work your concentration what are your views about that like you said mom and dad are always checking in on you to see what you're doing there to be sure you're safe as as an individual how do you feel about that i want you to measure it does it interfere with your schoolwork your concentration or anything at times yes it can interfere with your schoolwork because when you're doing like last year in sixth grade i did online school and that gets really distracting because in online school you could be paying attention to class next thing you know you're watching youtube halfway through the class sometimes yes playing games and electronics and all that can affect studies but with the right amount of self-control it you'll be able to control it and you'll be able to set yourself a time where you can play and it's like and set yourself a time where you just need to work that's good and that's my next question when as a person as an individual anybody can answer if you know do you think you need a break oh i'm drinking too much on this i need to take a break when do you know that when you get to that point that you know that this is enough do you want to answer that samuel or anybody else can i well wait most of the time no because when you're on electronics it's something you enjoy so you don't really think about the time you don't really think of when to stop all your thinking is enjoyment and enjoyment to the point where you forget you forget the time completely and then when you get off you realize how long you spend that's good yeah also i agree with what samuel is saying but sometimes we need to spend at least two hours on the computer so this is how i know i need a break is for example say i'm playing a game i'm enjoying the game but there comes a time when i get really tired from playing the game so i tell myself i need a break i need to do something else so i just get off the computer and do something else like reading a book or spending time with my family i like that but the truth is not everybody knows when to take a break but for you that you can thank you okay emilia i don't know if you play games or what you do on uh social devices or your technology i don't know what you do but i want to ask you this what exactly draws your attention what what do you think draws your attention or children your age the attention to gaming or other activities on the technology and they get to a point where they can't just cut it out what do you think i think because it's easy to do most of the time before i had technology as a thing i used to read books or just do other things to take up my time but since i now have a phone ipad it's easier to just click and see what's going on everywhere i like i like that it's easier and that's one of the reasons why we're here today and now i think you understand why sometimes your parents are in your face right like why are you doing this the truth is like someone said it's when it was in sleep it was is distracting because it's easy you lose time you lose track of what you're doing when you're supposed to be doing your own work you're out there doing something else okay to your colleagues what do you think we can do as parents what's your advice because i know that sometimes i get into it with my kids like okay what are you guys doing on that what are you playing what how do you think we as parents can help you mitigate that i feel like parents today don't know what it's like since you didn't really grow up with technology so i feel like it's better if you look at that from their perspective because we want to do something that we can just do without having to work at it so i feel like if they're on technology too much or they're just sitting down and doing nothing i feel like you should take them out do something go bicycle go read books together or something that they can enjoy other than being on the phone thank you so much amelia and that brings me to this as an advice for parents you've read it from one of our kids do something with your children have a moment with your children like she said they get on this thing because it's easy to do and because a lot of us i know parents i'm in your shoes you know that we are busy that's always the hiding word i'm busy i don't have time it's just easy you're disturbing me go get your ipad go get all your devices these children sometimes they want you to spend time with them like you said take a bite read a book do something remember they're watching you as a parent what exactly are you doing on your devices your children are looking at you and they take after you they all can see what we do and that's one of the reasons why we are here today you've read it from one of them because you don't have time so they want to talk to their friends and the easy way to do it is go on their device it's right there so before we close out today i want one of our kids to summarize everything i want you to advise our parents what do you think they can do like a hat and to your colleagues to your friends what can they do how can we be i know a lot of us are there but remember all these things we do can be tracked online it can affect you in the future so i want you to emilia if you can say it in two sentences how we can act securely on the internet i think you should go over what's good and what's not good like responsibility obviously technology has become a big part of our world and you need to go over how to handle it responsibly i feel like there are many apps many things that can secure that can secure your phone from being tracked or don't click on shady links but there's no way to be 100 secure on ipad and phone but you can lower the percentage of of the risk of being tracked or being hacked on their ipad or phone thank you so much in closing our children live in a digital age and the benefits of technology obviously are undeniable we cannot take it from them and like she rightly said most times we parents we don't get it because we didn't we did not grow with this they are there they use it in school they use it everywhere but how can we help them as parents to be sure they are watching things that are safe for them remember whatever we watch however time we spend on this thing affect who we have a lot of these children are struggling with their identity because they go on a lot of these apps twitter snapchat instagram and most of these pictures sometimes that they post on there they are just photoshopped and these things affect their ability to concentrate because they want to be like somebody somebody want this they want to do this so some of these things affect them but the truth is like i said earlier as a parent what are you doing on your devices what are you working let's learn to use our devices wisely um in 2019 may 29 may 25th 2019 wh of the world health organization added to their list of diseases and illnesses game gaming disorder why do you think that is because they looked at it across but and there was a research that was actually done by common sense media saying that most of the ads are children especially 13 to 18 year old children the number of hours they're spending a day on gaming or on their devices is 7 hours 22 minutes this this is not added to how much you spend on their schoolwork it can affect their concentration in school depression comes with it obesity comes with a lot of things that comes with of spending so much time on our devices i'd like to add to that thank you manukwa so like you said said um technology can cause a very amount of health problems and not only does it create health problems it can can create um social divide like for example those who might not have access to technology some people who have technology will be against those who lack it get and it will be such a problem and then another thing is your vision technology can also affect your vision because according to research research has it that the average kid spends at least five to 15 hours on their device and the appropriate time limit the average kid should be on his or her device is one to two hours on their device but the average kid will spend like more than five hours so when they're in school um and the teacher writes something on the board it'll be difficult for them to say some to read it because their eyes are blurry so my advice to the kids is that we must spend at least one to two hours on the computer phone television because not only will it help you it will help your eyes it can help you concentrate thank you emmanuel thank you for giving such advice to your colleagues to your friends as a parent myself one of the things i would say to parents who are watching us today is parents being involved in your children be involved in your children be dedicated to them like he said yes according to the pediatrics they said who has is is what is recommended for your children in a day but do they have to sit down for that long hours two hours at a stretch you can break it down for them oh they can earn it you can make it something like oh you have to earn it another take for me as a parent that i use and i say we might get it before you say no to your children what are the alternatives what are you giving them what other alternatives do you have for them do you take them for for walk do you have time for them do you see them to listen to your children sometimes you even have family time so i'm gonna summarize everything we've said today with this if you had anything if you've not had anything today i want you to go with these three with this with this three else limits limit the time they spend on it the screen time do you have a time in your house where you where you just shut it down everybody even parents because sometimes this isn't for us parents to give the rule but because we're adults or because we make the rule we don't follow true so is it possible that we view our children's role models shut it down for a minute learn what are they watching what exactly are they watching sit down with them watch with them make it a teachable moment as you watch the shows as they watch the games ask them what is this teaching you what is what do they say make it a teachable moment for your children the last l leverage yes they love technology you can't take it from them unfortunately we have to live in the reality we cannot take it from them but can they use it for something positive can they use it there's a lot of 3d printing out there that they can use it for animations a lot of things that can can be used for being your children's role model sometimes we get confused have friends have people around you that you compare notes i do that all the time i compare those with other people what do you do with your children what are they doing compare notes don't job guys good job keep it up keep it up so we're gonna get into uh the word and um let's pray father we just thank you for life thank you for all that you've done for us thank you for bringing us here safely thank you for those who are tuned in online thank you that uh we have the technology to even tune in help us lord to be focused as your word is coming forth in jesus name amen amen uh i i i typically like to do this and um it's just to warm people's people up and to thank the lord let's give one clap for the father that you guys probably did the best out of all the churches i've been to all right let's try it again one clap for the father almost there one clap for the father said what led him who has what and ear let them hear all right so we all have ears by the grace of god if you can hear um this message is for you if you can understand this message this message is for you so i'm going to be getting the children to participate a lot and the parents also need to also participate and hopefully listen in so one of the key texts that i was given is acts 13 verse 36 it says for david after he had served the purpose of god in his own generation fell asleep and was laid amongst his fathers and underwent decay emphasis on david served the purpose of god in his own generation so what was the purpose of god what was the purpose of god for david in his own generation if you just look up a little bit in the scriptures some verses before verse let's look at verse 22. it says after he had removed him talking about um saul this is pete this is paul giving a sermon in the synagogue um on the sabbath day and he's talking about he's just given a whole history of i guess israel he spoke about the people wanted the king god gave them saul then verse 22 acts 13 22 says after he had removed him saul he raised up david to be their king told you god found david said this is the guy what about this guy he's gonna do what my will a lot of noises made about the will of god and this and the will of god and that is really not that complicated a man of god said uh god is he he sees god like a boss and when you go to work you do the regular thing if there's something different that the boss wants from you how would you know he gonna tell you the boss will let you know the boss will go out of his way to let you know but what you got to do is at least show up at work be in the building be doing what you ought to be doing what's already written for you to do when you got the job be doing that if there's something new the ball is going to let you know so what is the standard of god for us what is the thing that god already expects us to be doing especially children because today is your day right so what is the will of god for children let's look at ephesians ephesians 6. yeah we're going to get into it all right ephesians six children listen up the scripture says ephesians six one children can y'all hear me children i i heard like two kids respond children yes good when nigeria you say yes uncle children this this is what god wants from you all right it says obey your parents not just any type of parent obey your parents in the lord obey your parents what in the lord let's say it obey your parents in the lord hopefully your parents are in the lord sometimes your parents will be stepping out hey tell them i'm not here your parents are not in the lord right there obey your parents what in the lord mommy and daddy are gonna set you a good example and you ought to obey what mommy and daddy tell you to do just like the just like the um what was that the talk show the parents will guide the children like okay that's too much time on the tablet your parents tell you that because mommy and daddy love you not because they hate you not because they don't want you to have fun but they want to make sure that you are doing what you need to do and sometimes too much screen time is not good even that talk show is for parents too right it's for everybody because you know the kids are on snapchat and uh uh uh what is it snapchat and uh tick tock what are the parents on facebook what's the other one this is what my mama called it what's up that's it mom why you keep greeting me man you want me to dab you up no i'm talking about what's up [Music] what's that's what it's called ain't no what's up that's a greeting parents said oh what's that my pops is over there trying to be cool you know my pops is old school he trying to be cool you know he went to go get some friends on facebook just started adding everybody he said then he's scrolling on his face like hey ah this is one of my friends i do it those are not your friends pops those are just people you added we got to be careful on social media so because mommy and daddy love you sometimes they might tell you hey turn off that ipad you know my wife this is my ipad right my wife has an ipad but no my wife's ipad is my daughter's ipad now she said mama get my ipad wait your ipad your three you know sometimes i wonder what did we do as children at church how they keep us quiet this is how they kept us quiet whoops that was it y'all children are enjoying you don't get this anymore no now that's what you get woos [Music] obey your parents who are in the lord obey your parents in the lord when mommy and daddy tell you to do things is because they love you look at verse two it says honor your father and mother [Music] do you guys know can you guys tell me how do you honor mommy and daddy anybody just yell it out how do you honor mommy and daddy y'all better clap for yourselves man wow obeying them this is how you honor mommy and daddy it's really easy to please african parents just to let your children know not when it comes to your grades though okay now i want to come see your grades because every african parent somehow topped the class you know i taught my class wait how many of y'all were in the class because everybody said they topped the class somebody got to be at the bottom now but for y'all to please your parents hey it's real simple as you said what are you supposed to do obey them you know what's even better than obeying them doing what they like before they tell you because for you to obey mommy and daddy look at mommy they're like yes tell this child i've been telling them i've been wanting them but if for you to obey mommy and daddy they have to tell you something right then you obey you can't obey something you don't know about but what mommy and daddy have already told you if you do it before they even tell you oh my goodness you become the number one child if there is one you become their favorite because you're doing it even before they say it that is what pleases mommy and daddy and the bible tells us because remember we want to do god's will right we want to live a purposeful life the bible's telling us honor your father and mother and you guys are so smart you already know how to honor uh mommy and daddy the way you honor mommy and dad is by doing what obeying them this is the first commandment with a promise the bible says when you honor father and mother there's a promise that's attached to this obeying your parents honoring father mother what's the promise verse 3 says so it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth obeying mommy and daddy will make sure that is well with you not just that you get to live long on the earth so listen when i was younger and uh you know i wanted some things for my parents for some reason a lot of african parents they just don't like buying stuff you know they're not used to just buying you know what i mean you go to the store mommy look put your hand up like what i'm just we i'm just saying look ma can you they don't like to buy things because maybe when they were grown up their parents didn't always buy things like that for them so just buying buying is not just they're not used to that so i wanted my dad to buy me a playstation but i knew i couldn't just go to my dad and say dad could i get a plate play what don't you already have a play station in there i'm gonna play in a station in the house now you want a playstation no so i couldn't just do that so what did i have to do i had to honor my parents right and the way we honor them is by what obeying them but what's even better is when we obey before they say something right so guess what i started doing i started doing things before mommy and daddy told me so i washed the car no no i didn't wash the car i cleaned the inside of the car i was too young to watch i cleaned the inside of the car i vacuumed the house i washed the dishes there goes my dad wow joseon is becoming a man i mean wow okay i kept doing that by the time i came to my dad and said dad can i get a playstation easy yes easy it was because my dad was pleased with me right whatever i ask him he's more than likely gonna do you know what god said about jesus this is my beloved son in whom i'm what well pleased pretty much everything jesus asked the father the father did because jesus is always going to ask in accordance with the will of the father and the will of the father is for us to be happy to to to rejoice not with things that are going to harm us but with things that are going to help us so when i asked my dad for a playstation he said yes because i was already pleasing him so the scripture says that it will be well with you it was very well with me when i got my playstation and the bible also says what that you may live long on the earth so we listen to mommy and daddy we obey them and we'll be able to live long on earth how is that possible because as little children we don't know what is dangerous you know sometimes we do dangerous things right like my little kids they like to run around the house they don't think it's dangerous until they hurt themselves and daddy's like what happened oh i was running but daddy said stop running when you obey your parents you'll be able to live long on this earth mommy and daddy are there to protect you to help you my son wanted to start riding bikes all right cool he went on a bike ride he fell down my wife being the nurse that she is amazon you know amazon is the best and the worst place especially for women because somehow there's always a package of amazon showing up at the door every day she bought knee pad elbow pad helmet why because she's trying to keep him safe right so if he obeys mommy and daddy and he puts on that knee pad the elbow pad the helmet he can be safe and by god's grace he may live long on this earth so we listen to mommy and daddy so they could go well with us so that we could live long on this earth now verse 4 this ephesians 6 4 it says fathers it doesn't talk to the mothers now because you know mothers already have a soft spot they gave birth to the child they just have a little bit more tender than fathers so the bible says hey you daddies do not provoke your children to anger that that's almost a default setting i think of an african dad you just provoke your children to anger it's just normal because your daddy provokes you to anger and his daddy provokes him to anger but you can never express your anger to your parents because you didn't live in america [Music] now your kids live in america and they could express a little something and sometimes you got to remind them that you're a nigerian [Music] uh somebody told me and my children are american but my house is nigeria i say hey man be careful with that boy [Music] bible says fathers man be careful don't provoke your children to anger love does not provoke the bible says love is not provoked and the bible tells us that we should actually provoke people to love so as parents when we're raising these children yes sometimes they test our patients oh not sometimes maybe every time they test your patients make you want to lose your temper you've repeated yourself multiple times to them but don't forget the scriptures writing you know john john writing to the church he said he called the brethren little children he wasn't talking to little children he was talking to grown-ups and he called us what little children that means that we also have a father who is very patient with us and he's told us things over and over and over again that's why a lot of marriages are the way that they are because these little children will not listen to their father who sowed them over and over and over again but he's a patient father he's a forgiving father likewise we as parents have to be the same way forgiving patient says don't provoke your children to anger you know the things that will anger your child the bible's letting you know avoid that don't do it but at the same time the scripture says but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the lord say okay so you're supposed to discipline these children but don't provoke them to anger discipline as in bring them into control the regulation the direction of the lord how can you not provoke your children to anger but still discipline them how is that possible how is it possible to discipline and instruct them but don't provoke them to anger the word is love love love these children that so many people in the world are crying to god to have you got two of them four five you got one there's some people praying to the lord for a child and once they get the child all they do is complain to the lord about the child that's it you just complained you came to church late it's your child you didn't get to sleep it's your child you're blaming you're complaining there's nothing wrong with expressing ourselves because if we couldn't express ourselves nobody will be talking but there's a different heart that you speak with when you're complaining about somebody complaining about something we ought to love when i was growing up some of y'all kids maybe y'all know maybe the teenagers might know listen when we were growing up when you get punished maybe you have to kneel down face the wall or something i don't know if y'all do a little toe touch anybody do touch up yeah okay oh you hold your ears and you'll be doing squats you sitting down yeah when you're done and when they tell you that you're done and you're leaving if you just walk away uh you don't love yourself when they're done punishing you look everybody's already whispering you say thank you you better say thank you but you get your butt up you start walking to your room all your hair is wuss ah come here say what about it no doubt it's like what what you didn't say thank you for the punishment nah man that will provoke a child to anger to hatred then they want to go off to school as far away from you as possible and never come back smile at you next time you see them is their wedding day that's it why because you didn't you didn't you didn't discipline from a place of love you disciplined from a place of irritation anger bitterness you had a bad day at work or maybe there was traffic and you come home the place is all dirty and filthy or the plates are in the sink or some somebody at church spoke something about your child he said hey sister told me that you didn't want look at me i was like wait wait wait let the child explain what happened you don't know if the auntie doesn't like this child just let's let's explain before the discipline i had a child and i told the lord my first son i said lord now i'm a father just like you teach me your ways lord let me understand fatherhood from your perspective one thing i learned from the lord before the lord disciplines he always sends his word always yeah yeah god's wrath is going to come he's going to discipline but he just doesn't slap you with discipline and then ask you a question that's our race i say what happened [Music] i said what happened i'm trying to tell you what happened but you keep slapping i can't even remember what happened now you just slapped it out my head you slapped me five times i can't remember what happened now i'm telling stories i don't know where to go place of love bible says love is what patient chillax love is kind love is not jealous you know we always compare when i was growing up you know i was like yeah why are you jealous of me though man i know y'all were broke you don't have nothing yet to carry water on your head but come on man cause i just left a shower running my bad pops it's okay it's okay man you patient i had to learn this from my wife i disciplined my son he didn't listen to daddy daddy sent his word that he sent his word again okay you're not getting the word after the third time all right you need you need a demonstration of power okay so i had to discipline him he had to know down face to wall and i timed it too so i'm not too heartless you'd be cooking you forget the child hasn't been kneeling now for four hours he's crying and stuff he wants to get up i'm looking at my time like nope it's not time yet but it's paining me that he's in pain that's disciplining from love i don't want you to be in pain it hurts me that you're hurting but you need this this is necessary for you if not life would be worse and when he was done i remember i told him okay get up and my wife was one telling me oh hug him man hug him for what you know what's it like hug him what am i hugging him for it didn't make any sense he said hug him i was like man i thought how i thought i had a heart of love but i got to get deeper in love i had to embrace him and explain to him that daddy doesn't want to do this but that he has to do this because daddy loves you i mean that whole day just changed my whole mindset like man and i remember talking to my sister about it you know like yeah man when we used to get disciplined there was no little hug there was no love at the end you get yours if i catch you do that again you see wow dad i love you too to some extent our parents might not have known better because the scripture says that obey your parents who are in the lord maybe our parents parents weren't in the lord maybe they didn't see the love of god and how god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son how god sacrificed himself for us so that he doesn't have to punish us the ultimate punishment which is separation from him but yet still the bible says that every son that god loves he's he disciplines the bible says he scorches he's like wait a minute i don't sound loving but there is a love in discipline there's discipline and love you got to make sure when we discipline there's still love involved and lastly the bible says what so bring them up in the instruction of the lord what is the instruction of the lord little children the instruction of the lord philippians 2 verse 14 we could all learn from this last thing philippians 2 verse 14. um let's do if y'all got king james so i don't know if you can switch it up or new king james because i think it uses the word um complaining disputing these children might not fully understand dispute but the bible says philippians 2 verse 14 says do all things without grumbling or disputing or complaining do how many things children do how many things without doing what grumbling or complaining somebody give me an example of grumbling what's an example of grumbling oh man right what's an example of complaining i don't want to do that right now yeah that's that's the complaining voice right there yeah the bible says do all things so when mommy and daddy tell you to do something you're supposed to do it without grumbling or complaining so let's say it together do all things without grumbling or complaining let's say it one two three do all things without [Music] i was with a young person and the dad told him to do something and when the dad left he slammed the fridge man i'm stupid man i said hey my guy your dad didn't see you do that but you know who saw you god saw you and god is greater than your father so that that attitude i understand you just expressing yourself you're annoyed you're irritated but that's not christ-like it's not the best thing even if mommy and daddy don't see you do it the bible tells us to do all things without what grumbling and complaining when i tell my son do something he's always like i said hey bro hey all that that's rude bro he doesn't understand his rules so i shouldn't just slap him first and then speak no no need to explain to him or you tell the child to do something like that doesn't make any sense i said hey hey okay i understand you don't understand what i'm saying but but saying that doesn't make any sense can be rude to the person you're talking to so it's better if you say oh i don't understand what you're saying right i'm not getting it versus saying that doesn't make any sense okay it's like oh okay yeah we got to teach them give them understanding why is that thing wrong explain to them if we can and children mommy and daddy don't need to explain everything so don't be like well mommy if you can't explain to me why it's wrong then whoa whoa whoa first of all don't let me say that you're not an american kid you're not a godless child all right because that's how godless children speak but you can say mommy can you explain it to me and the mommy says look right now i can't explain it to me i can't explain it to you just do what mommy said that we just need to obey there are many things in the scriptures we don't understand jesus was talking to the disciples majority of what he was saying was just going over their heads i mean he been saying he gonna die and get back up the whole time he's telling him i'mma die i'm gonna get back up three days y'all when he died though like it's over it's like bro he told you three days they fully didn't understand so sometimes we might not understand mommy and daddy but what must we always do with mommy and daddy what's the one word uh come on y'all what's the one word obey all right lastly verse 15. do all things without grumbling and complaining or disputing so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent children of god above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation listen to this amongst whom you appear as light in the world children you know um we sing that song's about i'm the light of the world or jesus is the light of the world and we're supposed to shine our light let your light shine bright how do you shine your lights is it about being the best at what you're doing kinda but the bible is telling us how we shine light by doing all things without grumbling and complaining for adults this also goes because this wasn't written to the children specifically we ought to do things without what grumbling and complaining pass the calls for something i stole again i was like wait bruh what attitude is that bro pastor is not your judge the one who is your judge heard what you said better yet the one who is your judge knows your heart because maybe you're around brethren you didn't say anything but god knows your heart and when we see that our hearts don't match up to god's standards what should we do shall bow our needs and prayers say lord i stumble today i wasn't patient enough i wasn't kind to my spouse lord i discipline my children out of anger please forgive me and any man of god with this mindset will grow you won't keep falling in the same thing never not if when you fall you get up and you say lord i've fallen the bible says to him who is able to keep you from fallen the bible tells us to approach the throne of grace so that we may find help when in the time of need what do we need help with obeying the commandments of the lord everything else man can help you with you need to get a job find somebody else network you need help on an exam tutoring youtube videos but what you're going to do about the commandments of the lord what are you going to do about that stony heart of yours the unforgiving heart what are you going to do about your outburst of anger your lack of patience we need help with the lord so let's bow our heads and pray ask the lord to help us and lord you've given me these children your word says that you desire a godly offspring lord if my offspring is going to be godly i have to be godly first i can't give what i don't have lord help me lord in the places that i failed areas that i've let you down please help me not to be satisfied with normal please help me not to be satisfied with a low level i want the best for my children lord i want them to top their class i want them to be the best at whatever sport they play and lord i know you want the best from me too help me lord not to settle for what the world says is okay even what my neighbors say is okay even perhaps what church brethren say is okay help me lord to reach for what you have put forth that's the standard lord to love the way that you love to discipline the way that you discipline and lastly let's pray for our children as they are in the house of god now that they will remain in the house forever there's too many of them leaving and never coming back some of that is due to us we haven't shown them a godly example some of that is due to lack of teaching let's pray to the lord that whatever is causing these children that start off in the house of god to depart lord please help us that these ones they've started good your word says he who began a good work is faithful to complete it in jesus name we pray father we thank you once again thank you for your word thank you for this time lord we pray as we continue with this uh program this week-long program that we'll continue to hear your word father not just hear your word but we'll obey your word help us lord that your word will go deep in our hearts it'll take root that will bear fruit and lord of that fruit will remain in jesus name amen amen we're going to take our offering now and um it's always an honor to give uh to the house of the lord y'all are enjoying over here man y'all got a nice little church a bunch of space it's like as texas in this church you know texas just got random space for no reason um should thank god for what you have here and um all the things that are being done for the children here and the way that we thank god for it is not just verbally it's also about what we give and the bible says that give and it shall be given unto you good measures press down shaken together shall man give unto your bosom um let's give them to the lord with a cheerful heart thanking him for these children for these young ones and god looks at our heart when we give not the amount of what we're given but if our heart is right then our giving will be right so for some people a hundred dollars is no big deal but some people that is a huge deal some people a thousand dollars is nothing but whatever the lord lays in your heart and appreciation of him giving you children an appreciation of him keeping your children or in in in in hopes of what he'll give you let's give with a cheerful heart and this church has made it that there's many ways to give you want to swipe your card i believe you could do it in the back of the church and if you want to give online i believe everything you need to know about giving online more pray more we must have confidence in the bible cling to god's promises the bible says in siam 91 verse 7 a thousand shall fall on thy side in ten thousand trouble and i write it shall not come in isn't god's promises sweet this is a promise for time like this if god promised me i believe he would do it because he's god and god never let us down so today i just want to remind you that jesus is coming very soon and we must get ready for a second coming but how can we get ready for a second coming the bible says in mark 2 24 42 therefore keep watch we not know the date or time jesus will come number three pray and meditate on god's words that is used every moment as a people to pray and read the bible don't just pray for yourself but also pray for the world at large in first thessalonians 5 17 it says pray without ceasing number four exercise it strengthens the body and keeps the mind healthy even in the bible in first timothy four verse eight says for physical training is worse than they have all done wonderfully well that as everybody can see each of these children prepared they took the time out and those who did not perform tonight are also supporting them so we are going to give a recognition to all the children for what they have done so now teachers are you ready are you ready teachers okay we are going to give out gifts to every one of these children they have done are constantly looking at the father's face because the bible says that there are ministering spirits that those angels will minister to everyone who participated in tonight's program all the adults those who are in person and those who are online live streaming across the world so i believe god from with all of my heart that god will be sending an angelic visitation into your life into your circumstances into your family into your career into your profession god will send you on because the bible says that angels ammunition spirits and when we celebrate our children like this god allows those angels to go on assignments and let the people of god say amen amen now the children have all been given certificates every one of them who participated in this program they have been given a wonderful certificate that would take them to the highest level of their academic career their professional career and their financial career every endeavor in life amen i want to thank children minister children coming all the way from houston what a wonderful message you agree with me right i mean i wish that message were preached in in the full house and someday we think that we'll be able to hear a message like that and i really love the talk show program as i was sitting down there a lot of creative ideas were coming into my head by the grace of god we'll be announcing all of that to you later in the future our children will go places the programs we do here will go places they will reach the ends of the globe let me hear parents say amen they will reach the ends of the world in jesus name we haven't we have been designed and wired for such a time like this to serve our generation and we are going to use every single asset every single person every single tool that god has of jesus christ let the ones who are confronted by lions by by by dangerous circumstances and animals lord made the angels of the lord that shot the mouth of of the lions in daniel in the dead when daniel was in the lion then may those injured be assigned to shut the mouth of the lions again in the name of jesus christ those who have been incarcerated and trapped in places and situations and spaces where they want to break free i ask you tonight that the angels of the lord will be assigned once again even to break the chains to break the barriers to break the bondages and to set your
