pardon for those who do not believe do not adore do not trust and do not love you oh jesus we are so privileged to be able to gather this day to honor you in your divine mercy here present both in your body blood soul and divinity and in the holy image of your divine mercy on this divine mercy sunday we pray lord that you would pour into our hearts grace and mercy that you would help us to be able to truly honor you in your divine mercy this day as we spend this hour in adoration and in reverence we thank you lord for this easter day we thank you lord for all the graces and blessings that you bestow upon us most especially your divine mercy and your saving love so you may be seated [Music] father mark will now speak to us a little bit about how we can better honor the lord's divine mercy on this great feast name so welcome everybody am i coming through through the sound system no okay this isn't on either i check check sound check okay i i think what we'll do is we'll we'll take around five minutes because i know our sound people are working on this we'll take a little five minute quiet meditation and then hopefully our sound people will figure out how to get sound to get into the church is it coming through now is the sound coming through now to the back no at the back people are saying no so let's just let's just give them maybe three minutes and maybe frank if you can text our sound people and just see if they can remotely turn the sound on that would be great as we gaze upon our blessed lord in the blessed sacrament on this divine mercy sunday it's good for us to remember that what we are gazing upon is his divine heart his sacred heart as we see in the image of divine mercy the heart of jesus is pouring forth rays of light and blood and this is what the eucharist is it's really the heart of jesus and so as it's been said many times before in case you have not heard it eucharistic adoration is like divine radiation therapy we are exposing ourselves to the divine radiation that flows from the very heart of jesus and as we are in his presence we are being radiated with his merciful love and grace and that's what makes it such a privileged moment and such a great opportunity to receive and all the lord asks for is that we just present ourselves to him with an open heart and his mercy is ready to flow in great abundance upon us so come and worship royal priesthood come and praise him holy nation worship jesus our redeemer he is precious king of glory come and worship royal priesthood come and pray him holy nation worship jesus our redeemer he is precious king of glory come and worship royal priests come and praise him holy nation worship jesus our redeemer he precious king of glory okay so i actually have a pretty strong voice i really don't need a sound system so i'm going to go jesus style and you'll just hopefully i can project to the back vania can you hear me perfect okay um so one of the things that the lord jesus asked us to do on the feast of divine mercy is to gaze upon the image of divine mercy and and that's how part of the way we venerate this image and so what i'd like to do is i'd like to share with you a couple different aspects of this image to help us in our meditation and the lord jesus promised that a special grace would be given to us when we gaze upon this image so the lord jesus himself will give us understanding and grace and help us to see things but just to help us out the first thing that we can notice is that in this image the lord jesus has one foot forward the lord jesus is stepping forward the lord jesus is he's approaching us and this is very important because the lord jesus said that the son of man came to seek and to save what was lost he's the good shepherd who's in search of the lost sheep he leaves the 99 and he goes and searches the lost sheep the lord jesus said it was not you who chose me i chose you and so in this image we see the lord jesus approaching us and as he approaches us he's not approaching us in anger he's not approaching us in frustration jesus said for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life and then jesus says god did not send his son into the world to condemn the world in this image as jesus is approaching us he has his hand raised in blessing he approaches us and he says do not be afraid and his hand is raised in blessing jesus said i have come that they may have life and have it in abundance and so in this image it reminds us we have nothing to fear this image goes with the gospel for today this is the risen lord who comes to us and in the gospel what does jesus say the risen lord when he appears to his disciples he says peace be with you shalom and so we we have our our savior who's seeking seeking us not to condemn us but to bless us to give us life and to give us peace the third thing we notice in the image is the lord jesus he's pointing to something did you notice that he's pointing to something he's trying to draw our attention to something what is he pointing to he's pointing to his heart now when someone points to their heart it means they love us and his part heart is a heart that was pierced he's pointing to a pierced heart he's the one the servant who was pierced for us and he's pointing to this heart again drawing our attention to his love our lord jesus said no greater love is there than for a man to lay down his life for his friends that's what he did his heart was pierced for love of us and from his pierced heart and this is the great aspect of this image that that came to us through saint faustina from his heart come raise rays of light the white rays and the red rays and this is the life that comes from the heart of jesus the infinite unfathomable inexhaustible source this fountain his heart radiates life the white rays represent the purifying power of god in ezekiel the lord said i will sprinkle clean water upon you and cleanse you from all of your impurities the lord cleanses us he washes us clean and this happens especially in baptism and in confession the red rays represent the life of god and scripture says the life is in the blood [Music] the lord jesus he ransomed us at the price of his blood he bought us at the price of his blood his blood makes us new it cleanses us it's the blood of the lamb that that sprinkle that makes us clean and his blood is given to us this represents primarily the sacrament of the holy eucharist when we receive the life of god in his body and in his blood the image our lord jesus asked saint faustina that the image have written below jesus i trust in you we know that the lord jesus he calls us to faith whoever believes in him will be saved and trust is is basically it's an it's another way of having faith like all jesus is saying is hey yes it is me i'm seeking you i'm approaching you but i don't come to condemn you i come to bless you i come to tell you that i love you i love you so much that i died for you my heart was pierced for you i want to bless you i want to give you my life and so you need to you need to trust in me do you trust in the lord jesus do you really have faith in him and this image is given to us in a time of difficulty it was given right before the awful devastating second world war and so many hardships humanity has experienced because of our hardness of heart and in our difficulties in our trials the lord is saying listen you need to trust me you need to have faith in me you need to keep your eyes on me and so this image is indeed the good shepherd coming to us to save us and he calls us to not be afraid to trust him to come to him so that we can have life and so that we can be saved and so uh i think now we're going to take our time a little time to continue to gaze upon the image and that's how we'll we'll venerate part of the uh divine mercy is to venerate the image and today we're just going to venerate it by taking some more time to gaze upon it as we gaze upon our lord in this image let us pray together that prayer at the bottom of the image and in honor of our lord's 33 years of life let's pray it together 33 times you can follow my lead but we'll all say it together and you'll know it ends when you stop hearing me together jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you jesus i trust in you and now we will sing together the divine mercy chaplet i will lead the first parts and father mark and the rest of you can join in in the responses and again this chaplet of divine mercy given to us by our lord is a very powerful form of intercession very powerful and what we are doing is as the very prayer says we are offering to the father the very body blood soul and divinity which we have here present before us and we're offering it to the father in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world so we are pleading and beseeching the lord for his mercy to be poured out upon us and upon the whole world so then let us begin in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen you expired jesus but the source of life gushed forth for souls and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world o fount of life unfathomable divine mercy envelope the whole world and empty yourself out upon us o blood and and water which gush forth from the heart of jesus as a fount of mercy for us i trust in you our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in
