every once in a while something happens that causes caribbean citizenship by investment programs to follow each other down a path of lowering their prices it happened a couple of years ago for the first time in mass with the hurricane season that devastated that part of the world now we're seeing it with covid more price reductions in citizenship by investment programs but it's not what a lot of you think and so i'm going to walk you through each of the reductions that we're seeing right now [Music] hey guys i'm andrew henderson here at no matter capitalist we help successful seven and eight figure entrepreneurs legally reduce their taxes overseas get second passports to protect themselves and their families and expand their options and invest in new boom markets to take place in the best places for the 21st century you can learn more at nomadcapitalist.com and today what i want to share with you are the price reductions that we've been seeing around the caribbean citizenship by investment very well covered on this channel if you're not exactly sure what that means go and watch our introductory videos now what happened a couple of years ago when the hurricane season came through of the caribbean is you saw islands who needed to raise relief funds lowering the price of their donation options and offering often lowering the price of the donation for a single applicant so saint kitts and nevis for example had for a long time had a 250 000 sugar fund donation they came through and offered this limited time 150 000 offer for a single applicant and a lot of these limited time offers that you see in the caribbean do tend to stick around for a while some of the discounts we're going to talk about today are again being pitched as limited time offers we'll see if that's actually going to be the case but what has been the case this time is fewer discounts really no discounts for single applicants so the price floor for the two or depending on how you look at it three least expensive programs is a hundred thousand dollars i've said it's a psychological price floor you're not going to see a caribbean program go below that for a single applicant but what they've been doing is they've been saying hey bring your wife bring your husband bring your family and they've been expanding the definition of what that family looks like so you can add more people into your application so let's go through as we're filming this four out of five islands have offered some kind of price reductions some kind of incentives now if you're looking to do this and you want the latest information and you want some help you can just email help at nomadcapitalist.com and our team will help you obviously this stuff changes all the time and so i want to make sure you're up to date you can just if you're interested in this help at nomadcapitalist.com now let's start insane kits in nevis the island that i believe started these price productions a couple of years ago what they have done is they've said that 150 000 temporary price reduction that came in a couple of years ago now it's essentially permanent as other islands have followed them down to lower price points they said okay 150 was single now you can bring a family of four and so if you want to bring your spouse you can do that it puts it far more in line with other programs and and their price for a couple than the old price of 195. now you can bring your spouse you can bring your children the challenge with the same kids program is with some of the other programs is the definition of a family at that price point has not been dramatically expanded and so if you want to bring your unmarried sister who's 32 years old you're really not going to be able to do that but if you have a spouse if you have children 150 000 is now the price it's a 45 000 savings uh in st lucia program one of the ones that i've gone through they did a couple of things number one they lowered the price for adding on a spouse which used to be 65 000 so it was 100 for the single 65 for the spouse now they've said instead of 165 total they've brought it down to 140. st lucia always a little bit less expensive than saint kitts and nevis which is trying to be the platinum brand as they call it so now it's about ten thousand dollars less you can add on your spouse and they've basically harmonized that pretty closely with the price that if you get married if you if you become a single epikent of st lucia and then subsequently get married as i did you could add someone on for 35 000. now they've basically harmonized that within 5 000 so it makes a lot more sense that you don't have to to wait to get married until you become a st illusion so 140 000 is the price for st lucia what they also introduced was a bond investment option we've talked about this in greater detail in another video on youtube and basically what they said was 250 000 or 300 000 bond investment in st lucia government bonds they don't pay any interest and depending on how many people you have and depending on how long the investment is going to go you can hold those for five six seven years they also slash the application fee for bonds from fifty thousand to thirty thousand dollars so there is still a sunk cost for bond investors but let's say that you are a couple you could pay the 140 000 and just make the donation and be done or you could put the 250 in bonds tie it up for about six years pay thirty thousand dollars in processing fees and you've saved a hundred and ten thousand dollars if that's a worthy opportunity cost for you then it's worth considering if you can do other things with that money then it's maybe not worth considering just doing the donation but finally you have an option that is not investing in real estate they'll be hard to liquidate government bonds probably easier to liquidate than a real estate project so st lucia has done those two new options what dominica has done is they've started to expand the definition of a family they've raised some of the age limits on who can qualify so if you have older children what they've also done is lowered the spouse price from what was 75 000 was not a competitive option uh as competitive as dominique is for singles it was not that competitive for couples quite frankly um so from 175 for a couple down to 150 for a couple if you're single it stays at 100 000 as does st lucia antigua and barbuda interesting program they've had a number of different options that no one ever talks about for a long time like a business option they've lowered the price of real estate options by letting you buy with other people they've slashed the processing fees for those little used options by twenty thousand dollars what they've also done uh is actually raised the price on applying uh as a family so for a long time they had a deal where they pitched it as a one hundred thousand dollar donation plus a processing fee of twenty five thousand dollars and for that you get a family of four again the definition of a family of four was pretty basic um you can't add your parents for example if they're if they're not dependent on you um so that definition uh you know was it was a pretty nuclear family definition they've actually raised that all in cost from 125 up to 130. what they have done is said if you want to contribute 150 000 to their university option where it actually benefits the university on their in their island they will let you add more family members to that and so if you have a larger family that option may be interesting for most of us i never quite understood why you would donate twenty thousand dollars more i'm all for charity it seems like you could probably find plenty of other charities to give the extra twenty thousand dollars to rather than tying it in with your citizenship by investment so grenada is the island as of right now has not uh responded what granita has done however is is they have made their uh rules more liberal and they have been the most aggressive even over the last year or so at allowing you to have people that aren't part of your nuclear family that aren't necessarily dependent on you and so if you're in a situation where your parents are also successful and they're not relying on you or they're not living with you grenada has been a better option for that and so perhaps that's why they haven't been as aggressive in lowering prices their price point remains at 150 000 for a single applicant they certainly have visa-free travel to countries like china that other programs don't or the u.s e-2 visa so we'll see if they're going to follow the other countries it seems like the last one of these discounts has happened a couple of weeks ago as i sit here and so this is probably what we're looking at great if you have a spouse and you're looking at a lower price point there or if you have a spouse and kids and you're looking into the whole family you are going to see some savings here single applicants not really much of a savings the price point remains at a hundred thousand dollars i really think you're gonna not see programs go any lower because what you have to understand is uh they're also not entirely getting that whole hundred thousand they're often paying commissions to international marketing agents who uh bring people into the program the actual filing agents and so that is a summary of the programs now we've talked also recently about how malta uh in europe has decided to raise its price cyprus in the last year has introduced a donation on top of its 2 million euro real estate investment more programs are coming out with more caveats and so if you're just looking for a straight path to citizenship quickly without a lot of muscle fuss the caribbean in my opinion remains a great option where it's just you do one thing you get a citizenship you don't have to be doing four or five different things and so for that reason i
