Yes, it was fun! I prefer his Patreon streams though, they’re a lot more relaxed

[Music] very exciting day [Music] so much [Music] [Music] well well hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to a noisy song how do we make it stop shut up good song welcome to the first ever super amazing abroad in japan live show in the new studio i can't believe we're finally here it's a miracle this is working it's taken me literally sorry it's a little bit loud now uh it's taken me like three hours to work out how to do this and have music and excitement and alcohol at the same time but cheers guys thank you for watching thank you for being here let me know where you're watching from and yes we have a two camera set up i can go from here to here and then back again and i'm going to just do that all evening because i'm [ __ ] mental and i've gone mad with power that's what yeah that's what happens when you get more than one camera oh man what are you watching from there guys amsterdam australia louder south africa uk germany munich munchen whoa camera changing is amazing sugoi uh good god uh place looks great says margarita it does doesn't it i'm not gonna show you the entire uh place today guys and thank you margarita for your uh for your comment and for the ten dollars very common i i'm not going to show you the entire studio today guys but i'm going to give you a little bit of tour of this quarter so i'd say this is like a quarter or one-fifth of the studio i'm not entirely sure i'm not good at maths i'm not good at measurements um but i'm going to show you around a little bit um it looks good doesn't it i even i'm kind of like amazed that it looks like this like i'm used to hosting a bra in japan in like a bin bag in a cupboard in my wardrobe in a pile of socks so to to finally be like in a room an actual room with lights and excitement and drawings of me looking fat it's just amazing it's honestly incredible i don't know how to feel about it um reykjavik iceland i've been there lovely place um the messages are still pouring in india netherlands belgium argentina this is truly a global stream i don't know how many people are watching i haven't got those statistics on straight on screen hopefully it's a lot of people hopefully it's going well um for the next hour or so i'm yours to interrogate to question to torment i'm here for that um and also i'm gonna be having dinner and playing with the cameras because it's just too much fun in it too much volcano too much cameras um all my lunch lunch dinner is in this bag right here and we'll be uh we'll be going in there in a little bit and seeing what we've got i've also got an array of drinks which i've just realized aren't even in shot let's uh let's move the camera a little bit actually no you probably don't want to [ __ ] it up it took me three hours to fit the camera there um but i do have lots of different drinks i've just mixed a fever-tree tonic water with some vodka it's pretty good and i've also got british viewers are going to be disturbed to learn that i've got costa coffee here costa coffee recently a big thing in japan you could buy it here now i feel i feel kind of something's wrong with me for buying that flown 8 000 kilometers to start a new life in new country and drinking costa coffee i feel absolutely disgrace um but i do have the uh because this is a big event it's a big day right it's a big big [ __ ] studio it's ridiculous i want to celebrate and so i have got some cider this is japanese cider it's kimori really good brand and i'm going to be drinking that later on let's jump into the comments quickly let's see what's going on uh brian says congratulations chris thank you brian it's been a long time coming um thank you to all of you guys for uh helping abroad japan get to this point you know it's taken nine years to go from corner of apartment to big room big studio and um yeah again i'm i'm kind of more shocked than anyone it's really weird and trippy um you got one here from shatter your boy it's a cool name big fan from australia my man love what you do keep up the good work thank you very much shatter your boy that sounds like a rap group from the late 1990s barry alien says hi chris absolutely love your content please keep up the amazing work and enjoy your drinks that i will barry that i will got one here from asman says congratulations on the studio connor collab when i mean we just did a collab with connor wacky weekend another one in a love hotel i don't know what it is with connor and love hotels he just wants to go to them all the time but hopefully the next collab that we do it won't involve love hotels or being in a room with connor um we come here from uh actually no we don't that's that's all the questions ah sup chris congratulations on the studio have a beer on me thank you very much um thank you guys thank you um i guess i like to kick off these live shows with a bit of show-and-tell i like to show you things um what can i show you i'll show you the alcohol over here this is the shelf it demands populating with more things it's a very bare shelf it's the bare minimum but what we can see over here is uh it's a little thing called a devoom it's kind of like a 16-bit screen you can play music out of it so when i want to play my favorite music like too much volcano again for the hundredth time today i can put it on my phone and it comes out speaker it's magic the miracle of bluetooth speakers what is wrong with me i such a act like technology that's been out like 20 years is brand new um also got this you might remember this this beautiful little thing let me move the um a little remix too much for okay this is the beautiful photo taken from journey across japan escape to fuji there's uh joseph the animation man there myself looking a little bit a little bit chubby a little bit around it's what six days on the road does to you and be larvae bear that was horrible wasn't it um i actually don't really like this photo about fuji it doesn't really look good um a lot of people say that this is photoshopped i photoshopped it if i did photoshop a photo of joey and i in front of mount fuji surely i would do a better job than that like if that's the best i could do on photoshop it's time to go home so you know it's not photoshop because it's just [ __ ] it's just the real thing i mean you can barely see mount fuji it's like the awkward third wheel at the party isn't it let's put that back on the shelf of course everyone's favorite um everyone's favorite thing this is uh an interpretation of me that i don't know how i feel about there's a anime as manga for trash tastes with uh all your favorites there you've got gaunt you've got joey uh aki sid uh dog guy connor dog and uh and then me in the middle see if you look at the face right if we just if we go like that and then like that and then and then like that even more it kind of looks like me i can see it i can see it what i can't see is that i feel like that's a gross misinterpretation of of what i look like but uh the character i mean the character is called big mouth for [ __ ] sake big mouth unbelievable isn't it anyway i do like it the artwork is pretty damn cool and uh i got that as a gift from from trash taste so it has to go there it has to go on the shelf um congratulations on the new studio says ross thank you very much ross and thank you for the awesome laughs and content thanks ross awesome coming to japan says joe in june next year for two weeks from the uk and i would love to have a pint with you if possible big lad big lad indeed jay you never know if uh if japan does open up next year which i'm sure it will like everyone asks when's japan gonna open i if i were a betting man which i'm not i would say april march april next year but then my predictions are always just [ __ ] so i wouldn't take it for granted and i wouldn't necessarily book a flight to japan i know a lot of you guys have booked flights to japan i wouldn't bother just yet because i know so many people have had to sort of postpone them and cancel them over and over so i don't know but hopefully next year by june you'll be able to come over joe and have the trip of a lifetime uh kk wong says love your channel always wait patiently for your new videos yeah sorry for the wait guys and thank you wong uh thank you kk wong for the uh for the super chat i i mean yeah i haven't made many videos recently because i've been trying to set up this bloody studio right uh i mean you can see the sheer time and effort that's gone into that shelf the sheer you know that's that took time to put that there and then that there that yeah it took like two weeks to put that and to be fair the shelf did take a long time to put together i'm out of my depth when it comes to anything technical or carpentry or whatever you call it when you assemble a shelf i can't do it i'm no carpenter that'll be on my wikipedia green sprout says are all the plants real how dare you question if my plants are real uh no none of them are real no none of them i'll tell you what though they do look real they all look very real and how how convenient that the the person that asked that question is called green sprout um but no this plant here for example is is uh is not real what i love about fake plants right is you can tip them upside down you can tip upside down and nothing comes out look at that that's great and don't have to water it either bonus but uh the the best the best plants in the room are undeniably the uh the big bamboo plants the back not real either but they look [ __ ] amazing like most people the friends that i've had come to the studio can't work out but they're real or not so that's good enough for me uh we got one here from muhammad says thank you chris for making this wonderful content i hope you'll always be happy absolutely muhammad i'm always happy thank you very much sending support and volcano love from singapore volcano love the best kind of love there is uh windows task manager says thanks for the hours of content my wife and i uh watch as soon as new video comes out the new studio looks great thank you very much windows task manager um chris you're looking very fit yes definitely uh says margarita have you thought of streaming on twitch even if it's only once a month i mean i i do want to do streaming more um this is kind of interestingly this like this setup now that i've kind of built is only a temporary setup like uh the real set in the studio it's like the other side of the studio it's like a three-minute walk over that side of the studio i say three minutes probably at my speed but the studio is pretty big and i really wanted some kind of interesting set design um so it's actually being professionally built by people that aren't me um i mean as i said before i can't build a [ __ ] shelf let alone build a professional set so um there is going to be a really cool set and that's going to be done i think in like three or four weeks so uh as soon as it's done though i'll be streaming from over there and i'll be filming all the videos from there as well so keep an eye out guys it should be a lot of fun and actually the set design it's really good uh rachel stevens is it rachel stevens from s club 7 the greatest band in the 90s i've just finished binge watching journey across japan again still can't believe you and joey didn't get a deal for dr jelly i know right what the [ __ ] what do you have to do to get a deal with a japanese energy jelly company we've made three commercials now each one better than the last um actually the first one's the best and uh i don't know why i mean i still buy their stuff loyally look at that it's in the bag it's in the bag rachel there is i'm having that later on that's my dinner and they still don't give me the commercial prospects that i so sorely deserve so if anybody from mourning other energies watching give us give us the sponsorship deal make it happen we've literally created an entire character with a con a questionable backstory to be honest but a character nonetheless who can sell this energy jelly oh man indigestion that's what alcohol does um chris how big was the fridge you carried from your apartment to the studio you absolutely mad man how do you know about that joel i don't remember talking about that i did i did uh i ordered a fridge to the studio which is in the kitchen over there get ready for a broad in a pan it's going to be great but i had to carry a fridge for some reason i delivered a fridge to my apartment and then i shouldn't have done that i should have delivered it to the studio where it was supposed to go and i had to carry it through the streets of sendai for like an hour like a abs [ __ ] massive fridge don't do that always order your fridge freezer to the location you intend to use the fridge freezer otherwise you'll end up with me having to go for acupuncture because we're [ __ ] up back um we got one here from jm chris i love the love hotel video and your work is there a collab you want to do with anyone i've not seen you with charlotte or rachel and jin in a while um i haven't seen rachel and jen in years i hope they're all right i hope they're alive and well down in fukuoka um yeah cool to do something with sharla she lives in sendai now i'd love to do something with obviously something gone actually because i've done stuff with them with joey and i've done stuff with connor but i've not done stuff with gant and uh you know he's the best one he's my favorite on trash taste like he's the ghance the clever one joey's the insightful one and connor's the you know the one that just sort of sits there but like there he is there's gaunt there i'd love to do something with him it'll be cool if god's watching which he may certainly isn't i'd love to uh i'd love to do something with gone let's go let's get in the car and go somewhere but not a [ __ ] love hotel i'm done with those places um red panda says congratulations on the studio really great setup i've been with you since the simply red simply red days um six thousand views on live at the moment [ __ ] hell that's scary because i i can't actually see anybody watching this right now i'm busy drinking vodka and holding energy jelly so that's kind of cool um yeah i mean let me finish the tour of the studio um oh yeah i've got this check this out it's a gun yeah i didn't finish the show and tell part of the the live stream what i like to do whenever i'm having a bad day i like to aim this at natsuki and uh and just just shoot them really quite fun that's what therapy looks like for me and actually the one i should shoot is that [ __ ] that one over there this is what i think this is what i think of this characterization of me i missed it i think i missed it that's embarrassing it's the closest shot anyone has taken to anything ever and somehow i missed it i don't deserve i don't deserve to be anywhere good i haven't with this car again oh that's that that's the fun bit of the show over um i do have one more thing one more thing um well let's see what the comments are saying about that shotgun excitement um lots of people are scared i've also got this so this is a little mario toy car thing um i because i'm like i'm 31 years old but i like to think i'm like 10. and if i were a 10 year old boy this is exactly the thing i would want because i would be i wouldn't have much imagination but basically it's a remote control car it's very [ __ ] heavy it's really unnecessarily heavy and put it on like that and then i can drive that can drive that around the around the table having too much fun here this you know having i mean what the hell is that why would you why would you want the wheels that way surely you want them that how does it move [ __ ] out [ __ ] out [ __ ] okay i've only got two cameras elapsed off and like 400 things on this table but let's break them anyway all right that's all i can do with it um yeah that's the end of that bit uh oh yeah it's [ __ ] it's proper that's that yeah um anyway how are you guys doing having a fun evening um let's dive into the comments before i destroy my little remote control car um pavel says i'm a fan since the early days chris and i regularly enjoy your podcast while shopping in the supermarket and compare your experiences with mine i wish that we can go for a pint someday again thank you pavel very kind of you thanks for listening to the podcast i do have a podcast a lot of people don't know but there is one go to broadjapan.com and it's on there one day it might be on youtube but uh again i'd love to do a fan like a uh a meet-up next year if japan opens um i i won't i won't commit to it just yet but i'd love to do like a meet-up and have everyone there rent out like a cinema cinema and uh do like a movie theater thing that'd be really cool um thank you pavel um evening humans and chris says mences thank you miss s luke says chris the studio is fat it suits your needs fat like big mouth that's the studio for me um don't let ryotaro grab your gum chris it says julius words to live by words to live by um i don't think there's real true been here yet he has been here and he's not welcome um one of the other cool things in this room i think it's the last good thing that i'll show you as part of the show and the show-and-tell fun bit uh is you see this big big blue light behind me here it's purple isn't it it's not blue purple right check this out right i can i can change it right give me a color give me any color and i will turn it any color i think there's like i think there's actually like it can be literally any color ever so that's cool um yeah give me a color but i could do effects as well i could do uh i like this one what about red everyone wants where i knew everyone would want red why did i know that there you go here's your red color oh you might be thinking oh that's not very bright that's rubbish he bought crap lights abroad in japan's rubbish well take a look at this boom now it looks like i've committed murder and murdered about 45 people in this room it's pretty it's pretty sinister um oh god it's really trippy actually i don't know how i feel about that um chris discovered the technology of 2021. this is it this is the technology of 2021 massively inappropriate shotgun nerf guns and a gigantic red light that i could control from my phone and change the color at will um well green that's quite nice actually therapy i feel it's kind of like therapy mode isn't it i like that while we're in therapy mode though i can do uh i can do special effects with it as well we've got club lights yeah in the club and then if i if i put on the music if i put this on one moment this is gonna look great it's gonna be like a real club but it's okay [Music] is too much fun too much fun too much volcano too much epileptic [ __ ] effect um also got fire if i want to have a fire in the background how's that is that nice is that therapeutic is that stressing you out does it does it look like i'm oblivious to a massive fire raging on behind me originally i'm not gonna lie i uh i was gonna start this live show face down on the table like this and then have like the sound effect of a raging fire um which would sound like this fire sound effects activate fire music fire sound effects right like this it's not working people joining there absolutely people were just tuning in to the live show genuinely thinking i'm burning down my studio in a live stream that'll be the quality content we deserve or maybe uh you know a vision of of what can happen sometime in the in the near future in my [ __ ] studio um enough of that enough fun let's eat things and dive in to some questions we've got some wonderful questions here uh sophil sphinx says when are we getting ken when we're getting ken as in kematobe oh spoilers i can't tell you too much about that i might i might be doing something with ken watanabe possibly maybe i'll talk about that in two weeks though um we got one here from francis who's sent the sticker and it's a pair rolling around thank you francis let's crack him um juan says when do you think you'll be back to making some documentaries like the fukushima documentary i think ryotaro's channel might have surpassed you that's the most offensive thing anyone has ever said to me juan ryotra's channel has not surpassed me and the day it does i will literally set the studio on fire this is what it will look like the day ryotaro has more subscribers than me it will look like a raging fire in my studio eric says fever-tree gin tonic is where it's at yes eric you're absolutely right my friend i do have lots of gin in this room um but i've kind of gone for vodka tonight for some reason vodka was the first thing i saw and so it's been vodka vodka and gin tony [ __ ] great combo though i this this stream isn't sponsored by fever-tree but if it were which it should be this is this is the best tonic you can ever get once you've had fever-tree you won't want any other tonic but beautiful thank you eric and all the best you mate dungeon madam says i saw you talking about new subjects you want to make videos about consider starting a japanese themed dungeons and dragon game uh dungeons and dragons game with natsuki and ryotaro uh i'd love to do that a broad japan board game i did joking aside i did actually nearly make a an 8-bit um an 8-bit or 16-bit video game earlier this year but i i realized that it's not easy making a video game even if you hire a company it's still pretty difficult so i gave up that idea and didn't do it but cool idea though do i do i did and and to prove i'm not bluffing and this is actually kind of cool i did make a uh a song somewhere i think this is it yeah i i started basically i hired someone on fiverr five is magic in it i hired someone to make an eight-bit cover of too much volcano and too much volcano is going to be the theme of the video game and it turned out really [ __ ] well like check this out um this is so good [Music] go [Music] genuinely amazing like so well done i uh it's it's one of the coolest things i think i've ever heard uh it's probably an exaggeration but it's very good but yeah no but then the retro video game it's just not an easy thing to do and i was a little about my debt so we gave up on that unfortunately um we got one here from stephanie says so happy for you chris thank you very much stephanie and this studio is you know this is it is the abroad japan studio but i like to think that it's a team effort and you know it's really cool to be able to share it with you guys and to going forward there's gonna be a lot more live shows like this hopefully better live shows than this um i did buy like a capture card so i can play video games stuff and do it almost like twitch but without being on twitch um i'm trying to avoid going on twitch it's not really my thing i do like doing live streams but in moderation um but no hopefully we can do some cool stuff logan says i don't know if it's appropriate to ask you but what anime or manga does natsuki enjoy i don't you know what i don't think natsuki likes anime or manga he's he's he's very odd he's very not japanese he's very much when he grew up he was very much obsessed with punk rock culture from the uk and that is his hobby and that's everything he's ever done and uh so yeah i think to my knowledge i don't think he really watches it chris would you go on uh hot ones or cold ones says luke i'm i mean i'm not i'm not good enough for that i did do a really good hot ones hot ones parody um last year which you might have seen it was actually on this channel uh with natsuki it was like my favorite thing let me see if i can find it you probably guys have probably seen it already but uh i i was very mean to natsuki and okay i can't do it i'm still working out how to do streaming but i gave natsuki some of the hot ones uh hot sauce and he knew i think he like nearly died legitimately eating it bless him um but yeah i don't think i could go on it i'm rubbish at hot foods rambly chappa says hi chris love your style and super excited to see your future content cool 8-bit track thank you very much rambly chapper i it is cool right like it feels like a crime that i didn't make a video game to go with it um never say never right could still do it um thank you very much today um echo the hammer when is the next time we'll see dr jelly again um you know what i don't think i have any dr jelly memorabilia in the in the studio actually yeah i'm sure we'll see him again very soon i'm hoping to hang out with the great anime man uh next month in november so hopefully we can resurrect jelly from the dead for that um chris i was one of the 300 people that was in the test stream yesterday congratulations on everything thank you very much uh for stopping by and love from the philippines hello from the philippines um thanks for coming yesterday and watching me fail at that live show um ma'am i think it's time we dived into the food though guys who wants to see he wants to see what's in here what have we got so i i did buy a lot um you know you know when you're hungry you kind of go overboard don't you just think i'll buy everything i'll have everything i'll have everything in lawson's um never never buy food when you're hungry it's very dangerous thing i've spent like and i've found and i'm fathomable without money but like there's something in here that keeps catching my eye keeps catching my attention and it is it does look rough to be honest um what's going on here chris do asmr no i don't think don't think i'll be very good at that um check this out can anybody guess what that is let's let's go for a close-up it look that looks ghastly isn't it that's like in a zombie album if i was in a zombie outbreak and i was running to lawson's to quickly grab something while on the run from the zombie apocalypse if i if that was like the last thing on the shelf i'd still be like actually i think i'll just starve to death [ __ ] it um does anybody know what that is can you guess lots of you saying kiwi kiwi kiwi you know what i thought it was a [ __ ] kiwi as well but it's not it's it's grapes it's grapes in it it's it's a grape it's it's it's three grapes to be fair that have been sliced in half and put in whipped cream and it just looks atrocious but never judge a book by its cover um well actually no do judge a book by its cover but never judge a sandwich by its appearance let's dive in and uh i've got some other good things though um we've got kelby these are the best potato chips crisps in japan they are butter soy sauce flavor beautiful love it these are much healthier alternative i say healthier and to be fair you've got i think is that eight grams of protein no it's eight grams of sugar but there's edamame crisps very nice and we've got the pinnacle of all healthy dinners harrybo starbucks that's what i have for dinner um it's it's a well-known fact that i can't cook um so instead of cooking i like to get haribo star mix you know there's a lot of nutrition in there you joke but there's an egg there's egg um there's there's cola bottles as hearts yeah hearts it's good for you in it um what else we got we've got more alcohol because we definitely don't need more more alcohol it's my favorite drink in japan that you can get in a can and yes it's better than strong zero don't let anyone tell you otherwise it's hachimitsu it's basically honey flavored lemon sour drink it's a bit like if somebody mixed vodka with honey and lemon and excitement then that is what you would get i might drink that layer that's i'm holding that in reserve i do have as i said earlier the big guns once i finished this vodka and in hindsight i did put too much vodka in it it's like half vodka half not vodka um yeah i'll have that later on before we carry on let's dive into some questions as i spill the vodka all over the table uh malia says chris i stalk you fantastic thank you malia please don't stalk me too much uh nitish says lawsons what happened to family mart who are you and what did you do to the real chris i know right i i i went to 7-eleven and lawson's and i betrayed family mart what have i become i'm a [ __ ] disgrace aren't i um i've got cyber tech fox arts says hey chris i need to redesign for your logo i'd love for you to check it out is there a way to send it to you send it to me on twitter i tend to follow twitter quite a lot um even though i hate twitter i'm always on there i don't know why but yeah send it there and i'll check it out thank you very much today it's very kind of you logan says are those too much volcano covers available for our ears did you disaster proof your studio and is thomas the tank engine terrifying yes he is he is terrifying isn't he i he's not et level like you've got e.t up here and then thomas the tank engine there's something about the way their faces don't move that the eyes do and yeah that's pretty creepy in it bringing up a lot of a lot of [ __ ] up memories there but yeah other than that though yeah you can the too much volcano covers i made a playlist on this channel uh of some of the best ones uh what else is there what do we got other than this one there's volcano wrap there's what was this one it's pretty good now this is probably better than the real the real one let's let's get in a bit further very slow [Music] [Music] [Music] pretty good now i like that one that's one of the better ones um we'll look at some more in a minute but yeah they're all on the the playlist and uh there's now harrybo all over my floor one moment there we go that's all the harrybo um we got one here from tim gb presumably from great britain he says what microphone are you using at the moment i'm using the nh1a microphone i do have the short uh sm7b but it's too compressed and i don't like it and this is good um thank you though tim got one here from gabriella who says nothing but thank you gabriella thank you for watching um let's dive into the bag a bit more hmm holy [ __ ] i forgot how good harrybo are they are good aren't they the uh the rings love the are so good all right so i i really don't want to have to eat these grape sandwiches there's something perverse something kind of disgusting and weird about grape sandwiches shall i eat it yes or no if if i read more yeses then i'll eat it if i read more nose i won't that's how democracy works unless it gets rigged and people spend lots of money on facebook ads but yeah let me know uh everyone's writing yes for [ __ ] sake can i eat something good like let me the edamame like edamame chips they're healthy they look green the crisps are green of course they're healthy look at them even i mean i can't have this so this is interesting um yeah everyone's written yes there's a few people thank you to uh to bailey who said no one in about 50 people said no thank you thank you bailey you're my new favorite viewer um look at this though this is crazy i'm actually making a video about this at the moment not entirely just this but it's part of it there's in japan they like to have health benefits in chocolate and sweets and confectionary i don't know why it's just a clever thing to do and this is gaba gaba for sleep and it's gaba is a popular chocolate brand it's by glico and uh they basically put something in the chocolate to help make you sleep uh gabba for sleep the idea being you know maybe you feel a bit restless maybe feel a bit stressed and you want to sleep you want to nod off you pop a few of these bad boys gather for sleep and uh hopefully you can you can fall asleep i've never had them don't know if they work i guess we'll find out towards the end of the show could be a good way to end it but yeah gather for sleep weird didn't it what the [ __ ] is in this hypno nyqual it's pretty dangerous like imagine this this could be like the hypno or the nyquil nyquil of of the future like chocolates it's it's it's a pretty sinister thing tasty but sinister um all right come on then let's get this over with still got loads of stuff in here let's tip the whole thing upside down why did i buy so much for dinner i want an idiot okay what we got oh i'm excited about that look at that macarons tasty delicious they melt in your mouth macarons love it um ghana i've got ghana there ghana is of course one of the most popular chocolate brands in japan i think it's named after the very african nation where the cocoa beans are harvested from that could be bollocks i'm not really sure but nevertheless it's ghana for the longest time living in japan i saw this on the shelf uh and because i saw this which is ghana right i used to see this on the shelf and i guess i didn't read it properly i read that as liberia african nation of liberia a wonderful place i'm sure um so i was like oh it's ghana and liberia it's not there is it it's actually libera libbara it's not liberia at all so sorry to the people of liberia there is in fact no chocolate products in japan named after you but if you live from live in ghana or you're from ghana well done um i don't even have eaten liver before let's put that down there got the full set tonight we've got got your gabba your libra and your ghana fantastic the holy [ __ ] trinity of japanese chocolate quite clearly i'm putting off eating the grape sandwiches i'm not overly enthusiastic about this okay um here we go let's do it oh god i'll tell you what though japanese sandwiches they're very good at making it accessible like if this was the uk it would probably take 45 minutes to open the sandwiches because it would be like some really contrived and [ __ ] method or like technique here a simple tug and you're in you've got your grape sandwiches and it looks ghastly before i do this i'm gonna drink some vodka and read some more comments um i have a lot of tattoos says daniel no hands or face is it best to have a complete cover uh over them would it be all right in places like osaka or tokyo yeah you'll be fine you don't have to only if you go to onsen some hot springs might not let you in other than that no problems tool daniel don't worry about it uh jack says what's your favorite strong zero flavor it would have to be um sour plum it's got a it's got a very beautiful refreshing taste um an orange orange is quite good but hard to come by i haven't had strong zero in a while though it gives me a killer headache um chris the studio is like a magic says rizzle thank you very much it's i need to get that on like a a big [ __ ] poster like a magic or something to be fair got the uh the leica magic pillow let's go for a close-up got the leica magic pillow over there two leica magic pillows bought my own merchandise what what have i become but yeah it's quite comfortable pillow to be fair available now on abroad uh i don't even know i don't even know where the merchandise store is i think it's on teespring but available now buy it all right online it's quite a good pillow um i love your work chris says mv will i um i love the work of the new studio i know you like city pop have you heard the rendition of fragile by a certain city pop shark i don't think i have actually no thing about city pop is i often put it on in the background but i'm not doing anything um because it's just so relaxing and peaceful and awesome and i would love to put some on now but they they're very good at copyright striking people when it comes to city pop so be advised don't use city pop in your videos um love it though love it um chris did you see the james may dole in nagaro the the dole town the scarecrow town where i went with connor you know what in hindsight i think we did actually see it but it didn't dawn on me at the time that that was the james may dole i need to go back and look through the footage because i think we must have seen it we must have seen it he's there he's got the big bushy hair of james may need to go back and have a look um chris take a drink for me please says alexa thank you alexa cheers i will take a drink for you i will drink this cider on your behalf just for ye that's the kind of person i am um i'm gonna need to open that sea postponing it um all right luke says can we get a collaborative gaming stream with your favorite welshman connor yeah sure um as long as we don't play apex raid of legend shadows king [ __ ] i don't it's called as long as i have to play that as long as we can play something good like mario kart then count me in um all right here we go let's go for another close-up this is it look at that how big are the grapes reasonable size i mean it it it's just a grape with cream in a sandwich what time is it jesus 10 45 i'm eating a grape sandwich all right here we go here's the big review the big reveal that what doesn't fill me with confidence is the the bread itself smells like cheese maybe it's made in the same factory as the cheese and ham one that's uh oh here we go oh [ __ ] hell it doesn't work no it doesn't work no no i don't like to waste food so i should probably at least one of them um i'll just give the rest to ryotaro when i see him like tomorrow no it doesn't work um sweet things plus sandwich equals nay that's the that's the formula that you should stick on your wall this doesn't work it doesn't i mean i know a lot of you guys probably like the strawberries and cream sandwich and that's all right that's not too bad but the grapes are really sour the bread tastes like cheese the cream's a bit dodgy and actually the filling is only on like the first like little bit of the sandwich like this bit until like here like that that's how much filling there is the rest is just bread so a little bit cheeky a little bit cheeky finish it finish it says everyone bullying all right oh it's horrible it's disgusting why are you doing this to me oh mum it's interesting reading the comments from you guys half of you say it's disgusting others say it looks good a few of you are saying big mouth big mouth over there in it uh god's sake horrible actually the cream was good the cream wasn't bad oh i'll give that a i'll give the sandwich a five out of ten i won't be having that again all right this is it oh man i can't open it there we go all right look at this splashed out big look at that nice glass there side of glass let's dive into the questions we've got one here from winchester and i can't see it it's gone um corey says if i wanted to see a man eat grapes i would have taken the grape eating class says corey that is very true there'll be no more i can i can give you i can give you my assurance hand on heart there'll be no more grape eating on this channel ever erin says i'm about to give a fake toast to your future 15 year anniversary on youtube in my public speaking class wish me luck wearing my like a magic t-shirt good luck aaron you can do it um that's kind of cool i mean it'll be the it'll be the 10-year anniversary next year so 15 years that's like unthinkable to me that's uh six years away can you believe that hopefully i'll still be here in six years not literally in the studio but here existing in real life but good luck aaron i hope it goes well nazeem says do you wear seiko watches daddy daddy no this is a watch from a company called bearing and it's impossible to shave look at that bearing i was having a really bad day once in 2015. i remember it well and uh i i i never liked wearing watches i always found wearing watches really annoying and uh i was but then i had a really bad day and i remember i was in niigata at the time in niigata city and i went to loft which is a big popular department store they sell everything from hats to watches and a pencil they sell it all in loft all those all those things and more dare i say but i saw the uh the watch section and it just caught my eye and i mean if if bearing are watching give me a sponsorship deal because i can actually sell it because i like this [ __ ] watch i've had it like five years now six years it's uh it's got a diamond it's not not a diamond it's got like a [ __ ] it's got a really strong glass surface um sapphire now i can't remember the name of the thing but basically it's it's pretty pretty much bulletproof although doing that probably gonna break it now but i just like the minimalistic design it's got titanium strap it's quite a small thin narrow face on it i don't like watches that sort of really stand out on your arm this kind of fits my arm nicely it kind of blends in and yeah love it quartz i don't think it's quartz i think it is sapphire it's really [ __ ] hard that's all you need to know it's a great watch it's a great watch uh ruby crystal um yeah i don't know what it is i think it's sapphire um hot hotter flange says muscat grapes say its name give my city two seconds of fame like you did with ghana please muscat muscat isn't that in oman oman am i right am i wrong muscat it's what the capital city of oman and i'm probably pronouncing oman wrong i mean it's literally it's written like oh man but it's not is it uh when is good taste podcast coming with pewdiepie uh well they're always welcome they're always anyone's welcome come on up here to the broad japan studio i can guarantee you uh i can guarantee if you come to the japan studio you will receive a shotgun shell to the face and a half eaten grape sandwich that is the absolutely minimal minimal thing you will receive and maybe if you're very lucky you'll get a portion of energy jelly to the trash taste lads pewdiepie anyone it could be your mum your cat come up here and you'll get a free thing um renz says no question i just want to thank you for making my day every time you drop a video um i'd love to meet you one uh one day next year um or the best chris thank you renz it's very kind of you um again hopefully we can do like an event next year in tokyo and actually meet you guys i haven't done a like a meet-up event since 2019 now and it was really fun like we had i think 50 60 people no we had 100 people turn up and i was able to speak to almost everyone and pretty fun pretty intimidating but fun winchester says chris always good to see you any plans on doing some videos in okubo the korean district in tokyo i'm hopefully moving there in august tips on finding bigger men's clothes bigger men's clothes i mean i can't really speak from experience to be honest mate i uh you know when you've got a body like this you only need the tight fitting wonderful clothes no i i honestly i don't know i still have i have so much trouble trying to find places to buy shoes in japan absolute nightmare um but well done okabor fantastic place you've really bagged an amazing place to live there in tokyo i don't know i did that like it's genuinely brilliant i like akubo i've got the best korean food in all of japan there so good luck to you um all right let's finish this vodka oh man chris it's good to see you finally uh the move to an apartment that's not decrepit i mean i don't live here um i could live here but there's no shower and that could have that could raise a few problems to be honest um but you could you could i think this used to be uh an actual apartment with humans in people lived here but then when i got it it just been an office um so i'm really looking forward to showing you guys like a tour of the whole place i'm half tempted to just turn the camera and show you now but i think that would spoil the surprise and you know the room is about 55 done so i think i want to wait um is this light bothering anyone or is it nice do you like the the sort of fireside chat vibe going on there or should i change it to something more colorful you decide choose your own adventure that's what lebron japan is all about it's the values of a born japan adventure oh it's bothering me it looks good it's nice i like the lights i dig the light everyone likes it too much flicker i can turn down the flicker but then that might kill the charm might it let's have a look uh all right uh let's go on to okay i've forgotten how to i've like broken my phone it's good now uh god um speak in japanese i don't see myself i i've actually been studying japanese a lot more recently and it's going all right it's going all right i i i'm very embarrassed by my japanese level it kind of peaked i think in like five years ago and that's just been our slow decline downwards since then so i've been trying to get better um i have been studying every day for about two hours i'm not lying either actually i've been studying and it's it's going well it's going well i'm hoping to be better next month like i've got so much i got like so many uh japanese words in my head but because i don't use them every day i forget them but they're there and i just need to be sort of fished out and just remembered and recalled so that's what i'm trying to do we've got a question from little antennas chris do you get too much volcano stuck in your head please buy some vegetables i've got vegetables i've got vegetables little antennae i've got look at that edamame edamame crisps i've got they're not vegetables technically but i've got dried apples so there you go dried apples all right let's change the light at last let's change it to that uh yeah [ __ ] all right what color what color we want that's kind of cool it's kind of romantic isn't it yeah let's let's put it like that is there a japanese joke you learned from a friend acquaintance that you still enjoy to this day not really uh no no in the show i can't ever think of any japanese jokes off the top of my head um and i do like the japanese phrase uh nekonikova nikoni koban it means like coins to a cat it's when you you spend money frivolously um or somebody who just spends money like a [ __ ] nekoni corbin kind of like me really buying all this [ __ ] buying all this chocolate and then not eating it but i'll have to eat it later on um mind freak me says it's 3am here chris i'm tired as [ __ ] you had to go live just when i chose to go to sleep i love your videos and how you complain about everything i never complain never how dare you how dare you criticize me um i where at 3am where could that be i'm going to say you're in new zealand or hawaii where where 3 am where's 3 am now hey siri oh i don't have it on yeast isn't it hey siri oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] who's it cool gosh it's connected to the bluetooth speaker so nearly had a diplomatic incident there um correct 1am in australia okay we've settled that 3am in new zealand get in chris you've helped me decide to move to japan i'm making a documentary of it and i'm creating a mini documentary every single month depending on the virus situation august 2022 to january 2024 any advice wish me luck um first of all thank you very much kaidus for your question that's a really bold and awesome idea uh i'd say with the documentary always shoot way more footage than you think you'll need like just shoot so much footage and then you can cut it all down in editing never let yourself down on sounds like good good audio is so important like i've [ __ ] up so many videos by screwing up the audio i recently shot an interview and it's an important interview and the audio was a little bit rubbish and now i'm depressed so don't [ __ ] up the audio but best of luck to you that'll be a lot of fun and try and plan out in advance planning really helps we did the high documentary the rockstar documentary back in 2019 there was so much planning went into that and it really made it a lot smoother but best of luck to you love from new zealand chris and yeah it's 3am greetings all the way from puerto and well done for staying up at 3am watching this from new zealand but please do sleep you you know i'm not worth i'm not worth being up at three i wouldn't get up for myself at 3am for anything so you shouldn't have to wake up or stay up either but thank you for staying and hanging around kanashiro says greetings all the way from puerto rico 11 hour difference to japan i would love to go to puerto rico i was so gutted about the amazing massive satellite dish the name of which i can't recall the one that's in goldeneye and the one that's in contact with jd foster it fell apart recently and i was gutted because i really wanted to go and see that satellite dish you know the one where sean bean gets [ __ ] up in goldeneye and uh yeah but well done puerto rico we'd love to go there and see what's left of the satellite dish at the very least thank you for stopping by um when will we get another american accent video it's been too long since christian you never know christian if i drink some more alcohol i might do it anyway yeah arecibo arecibo observatory that's the one arecibo yes let's have a meet let's have a next live show at the arecibo observatory in puerto rico with natsuki and ottawa let's do it in the middle of the satellite dish um that'd be pretty [ __ ] cool actually could work uh so many comments so many questions let's let's finish this all right guys this is what i've been literally this is the reason i came to the studio today to drink this cider and do a live show of course but i've been wanting to drink cider for a long time and uh japan it doesn't do cider well it really doesn't um you've got to try hard to find one this is like the only brand one of maybe two brands of cider in japan worth drinking and it's come from aomori prefecture and uh what's that in the glass oh it's water [ __ ] kind of cider with water in my glass there we go um i washed it that's why yeah um here we go aomori is of course famous for apples look at that beautiful beautiful and people say i'm not sophisticated look at this sitting here in the swanky live show room oh my god it smells so good it smells like you know when you get an apple and you chop it in half and it's got that fresh crisp smell ah [ __ ] that's great oh i can't wait for this i want to savour it um chris i've been watching you for a long time congratulations on the studio and success you should try doing some live streams where you talk only in japanese wouldn't be very good though because 99 percent of my viewers don't speak japanese and i don't think you know be fun for like one minute if i'm like oh oh [ __ ] it'd be like that's fun for like a minute but not for a whole live show and that's probably the extent of the japanese you're going to hear tonight fun fact in japanese cider uh literally cider it's in japanese it just means like fizzy lemonade bollocks drink it's horrible actual real cider is called shidoru shidoru i think it's named after the the french the french pronunciation of it let's let's do it here we go oh oh my god oh so good [ __ ] cider that's what i saw about chris you an alcoholic not yet but we're getting there um uh we've got one from japan rama or japan japorama here's to your next drink chris hopefully we can have one together soon in japan um nick p.s check your instagram messages for a special video from our twins i will indeed that sounds rather sinister but also kind of cool thank you nick i will check that out after the show sammy says enjoy the snyder congratulations on the studio thank you very much sammy thank you i can't wait to show you and everyone around here sometime soon um how should i hold the glass play your favorite song well i mean my favorite song everyone's spamming playing my favorite song well my favorite song is the song we've already had on like 100 times tonight but while we're here i've been having a field day going through these uh these live show these remixes of too much volcani and uh you won't believe how good some of these are like check this out um richard says i found your 2019 snow festival live stream by chance and i've been a fan ever since that's a weird video richard to discover a broad japan on that was the first ever live show that i ever did in public and it was by all accounts an utter [ __ ] show um i was holding my phone doing a live show and people who were watching that live show and having and seeing like me and natsuki walk around sapporo in the snow they were watching it while they were at the festival coming over to natsuki and i and giving us beer and talking to us it was a really surreal experience it was like a 4d live show but uh i'm glad glad you enjoyed that one richard and what the best places to hike in japan not mount fuji that's for sure um no genuinely mount fuji is not fun to hike it's closed for most of the year as well there's lots of beautiful places in akita inewate in nagano kamikochi look up a place called kamikochi in nagano and it is like the garden of eden times heaven times [ __ ] amazing it's such a wonderful place and it's so good i haven't even been there but i've seen lots of videos of it i want to go soon maybe before the years out maybe i can do it cami kochi all right here we go so check out this this really cool interpretation of um i showed this to my good friend yuki one of my best japanese friends and he said this was his favorite uh cover of too much volcano he said it was like what do you say we said it was like a japanese tv show opening for like a manga or an anime or something see what you think [Music] pretty cool what [Music] come on [Music] [Music] it's really good right i i can see i was reading the comments while i was playing and everyone's gone wild and loved it they're really cool right that's that's my japanese friend yuki's favorite cover um i don't think it's my favorite but it's definitely up there by the end this live show you're going to absolutely hate too much volcano so much and it's going to be stuck in your head as it is in mine every single [ __ ] day um to be fair i i tried i tried to convince joey to record a uh a sequel to make a sequel but i think he was like yeah let's do it but i i felt like he didn't really want to do it it's going to be awkward because you're going to see this clip now probably don't tell joey how many people are watching this show hopefully joey's not here i'm going to insult jerry in front of people in front of you guys um how many how many people are watching this oh [ __ ] seven seven thousand people whoops direct if you're watching this don't tell joey what i'm about to say secret secret yeah so i said to jeremy joey let's let's make uh another song like too much volcano oh yeah mate i [ __ ] love to do that but like yeah and then but like you know when someone's just being nice and they say yeah i want to do it but really you feel like oh they don't want to do it that's how i felt about joey and i pushed him in august i was like come on up joe dude oh yeah man i'm a little bit busy doing the [ __ ] twitch thing and i was like [ __ ] and then in september i was like come on jerry come on up let's do too much volcano too let's do another song he's like oh yeah mate i've got a lot look at the wall that day i've got to do block a [ __ ] wall and so he kept making up excuse and then we've agreed now to meet in november and it's gonna be a lot of fun because i love jay and i haven't seen him in a while and i mean to be fair to joey he's on one two three four four pieces of artwork in this room he's in more pieces of artwork than anyone else may be tied with natsuki so he's brilliant and we're looking forward to hanging out in november but i don't think we're going to make a sequel too much volcano i'm gonna have to hire another person that can rap so uh yeah but who knows maybe you guys could bully joey and convince him and we can turn those nose to yes and we're getting to do it but weak excuses joey make the song write a [ __ ] wrap let's cash in oh man i love jerry he's great um chris our japanese people adventurous when it comes to food i'm from the new orleans or from new orleans and plan on making uh making uh make it sorry i plan on moving to japan with my wife we'd like to open a bar and a restaurant i'd like to serve some of my local food that'd be really cool what's what's the food of new orleans i don't actually know new orleans we had arrested where i where i grew up we had a restaurant called new orleans and i just sold burgers and i i mean is that is that the food of new orleans i get the impression new orleans probably has more than that but yeah no i go for it i'd say those sort of places like american diners do pretty well in japan so go for it do it give it a nice authentic new orleans experience and i think the people will love it eric um we've got one here from alex um thank you very much alex for your uh donation very kind of you chris i really enjoy your videos keep up the good work cheers from irvine in california um thank you a lot alex thank you so much um bloody kind of you mate thank you very much um we got one here from tdg it says do i do share your thoughts on the tokyo 2020 olympics my thoughts on the 2012 well they were kind of the 2021 olympics to be honest weren't they but i i think they went all right um i think most japanese people were kind of glad that they happened and you know i i i think it's good that they happened in the end i think japan needed to do something otherwise it was just going to be really depressing um and so at least they did something at least it went pretty well for the most part so i'm glad it happened i'm glad it happened but yeah really sad that it didn't all go to plan to be honest um that was a real shame um we got here one here from jay jose chris from north uk joining you for a drink at the moment what time is it in the in the uk jay it's 3 00 p.m right that's right 3pm is a good time for a drink even 11 a.m if you if you drink alcohol before 11 a.m that wouldn't be good but three three is good um jay was that's gable to cash in on the song i hope so the poor lad worked so hard you know what we did make money from too much volcano i don't actually know how much money we made let's have a look um what where would it be what was the service we used to do it well not even this i don't even i know how much money it made um what's the [ __ ] website we made we used to do it i think the last time i looked i think it made a thousand dollars but that was that was yeah i think it made a thousand dollars but that was like the first month um and it's been up a few months now um there's actually a three when you upload uh music to itunes is actually a three month delay before you get the statistics we got the first numbers in september and uh yeah it's pretty cool i obviously anything we make from the song natsuki would get a third you know we'll split it three ways i'll get you know i'll get 50 natsuki and joey will get the rest and uh you know that's that's equal in it equal three ways um but no all seriousness natsuki joe would get there 33.33 and with my 33.33 i will invest it in the studio or making another series of journey across japan which i'd very much love to do i'd very much love to do it so all earnings we make from the song will be poured into making another song hopefully if we can convince joey to come on board come on there's seven thousand people watching this go and spam him on twitter tell him to make a song tell him to get out of bed and leave yokohama and come up to sendai make the song we deserve um conquer five four 452-4542 says hey chris make a stream labs donation set up so youtube doesn't steal half the money i would love to i don't know what stream labs is but i'll look into it and now it's time for macarons i [ __ ] love macarons this is probably my favorite dessert that'll be in a trivia quiz question one day that nobody will want to take part in but this is it this is everything i love macarons it's the best thing ever made in france and hopefully it's french because i'm gonna otherwise have insulted someone from europe i love the sort of fluffy bun feel of macaron and then the creamy wonderful macarons and cider now we're [ __ ] talking this is what it's all about sitting alone in a room eating macaroons inside there brilliant um we've got a question here from lp chris my girlfriend izzy fancies you it's a bit awkward isn't it don't no you no you can't you can't fancy someone when you're dating someone else surely um please embarrass her for me um love from your home county of kent please send any spare petrol oh god yeah i feel very bad for a lot of people in the uk particularly my friends in the south east there's just no petrol there recently which is a little bit worrying um but yeah thank you izzy for for liking me um but please don't please like your boyfriend he's better than me um and i'm there's a fine line between embarrassing someone and insulting them so i'll end it there but thank you izzy and anonymous boyfriend from kent thank you very much but yeah love love your boyfriend don't like me don't don't fancy me and uh good luck getting some petrol all right last macaron it's time for the choose your own adventure section of the live show um i have got a lot of foods here i've got a lot of foods a lot of sweets i'm gonna let you guys choose which one you want me to eat basically all right so we got on the right we've got the delicious melt in your mouth buttery soy sauce taste cowbee butter shoyu crisps [ __ ] me they're good i love these so much all right that's on the that's the one that's option one option one option two is the equally decadent the equally magnificent toppo which sounds like a medical condition after taking too much chocolate and biscuits toppo uh it's imagine pocky but good that's the best way to describe toppo pocky they have a biscuit and they put chocolate on it topo they're very clever they're very smart they've somehow found a way to put the chocolate in the biscuit i know right it's [ __ ] crazy but uh toppo it says here basically chocolate until the last moment um what else does it say mild mirador i can't pronounce japanese tonight it's got a good balance of flavors apparently um yeah all right option one option two is it gonna be crisps covered in soy sauce or butter or is it gonna be chocolate biscuits filled with chocolate tap puddi chocolate uh let's look what have the people said what have you guys said option three chris says kevin there's always one isn't there goddammit kevin what is option three there is no option three option three option three is more harry bow um interestingly everyone chose number one i'm really surprised by that i thought that that would be more like theatrical and brilliant all right crisps it is the dinner continues um what day is it wednesday god i don't think we've ever done a live show on wednesday hmm well i finished this macaron which i've almost done now and it's a delicious macaron i will play my probably my favorite iteration of uh of too much volcano no not that one not that one yeah this one this is probably it actually no it's not this one [ __ ] where is it what's good oh my god it's me ah that's trippy and weird and scary god it was like really trippy [ __ ] there um all right i've failed i failed i'm still getting to um i'm still getting the hang of this whole obs thing it's really intimidating and scary uh let's see okay how do i now bring up something let's see uh youtube.com abroad okay boom all right we're in actually now i'm just tight i'll just go god this is so embarrassing i can't even spell all right i swear this is the last cover of too much volcano i'm gonna play today oh what's that the truth the truth about chris broad oh [ __ ] oh man this isn't going well what is the truth about chris broad i hope it's a good truth jesus uh okay for some reason i can't actually do anything else other than navigate around this screen like i can't scroll down so that sucks um the truth about chris broad i hope it's nice um okay i failed damn it oh no there is [ __ ] oh man this is it i think this is it yeah this is it this is my favorite cover of too much rotation i'll tell you something really depressing afterwards that i'm gonna regret telling kumamoto the land of the hills and the grotto welcome to the road show up the nippon trio we're in the dome home and wouldn't you know we got first class tickets to the royal zone hey yo i got the flow chris got the pay hey yo my man nanski tell us what you say [Music] no nowhere oh my god [Music] all right it's time for depressing facts [Music] no volcano no volcano [Music] all right that's that's the end of that bit um what a [ __ ] surreal situation um all right it's time for a fact that i don't want to tell you but i probably yeah i'll tell you anyway all right well nobody noticed with this song too much volcano except i think maybe three people have brought up with me if you look at the text for too much volcano cast your eyes over here ladies and gentlemen it says abroad in japan presents too much volcano volca what the [ __ ] is volcano that's right i spelt it wrong i [ __ ] spelt it wrong and nobody noticed really only like three people have messaged me about it in the last three months but basically when i was making the music video and i was editing like crazy like making a music video for too much volcanoes one of the hardest things i've ever done oh yeah i quickly rustled this up right and uh i i didn't i didn't proofread it basically and then i put the video out and that was it too much volcano but nobody noticed [ __ ] sake though and every time i see that song i want to kill someone um probably myself but no it's pretty [ __ ] i was pretty depressed about that the good news is when i when i released the um the music when we released it on itunes i redid the artwork and this time i spell it correctly because somebody fortunately not even i noticed that's the really crazy thing i didn't notice it said i didn't notice it said volcano somebody said to me wait a minute chris does that [ __ ] volcano and i was like oh [ __ ] it does doesn't it i don't know why they're from the north england area but they were and uh yeah and god yeah check this out back in the game all right i've got something i'll show you in a minute when uh when we made the uh when we did do the artwork for too much volcan uh for the album cover luckily i realized the mistake by that point and i spelled it correctly notice here it's not volcano it's volcano this is also probably the coolest photo i think i've ever taken i'm so happy with this photo look at that pretty cool itunes top 14 here um just the lighting on that that volcano looks pretty epic and that boulder creepy volcanic like dinosaur egg pretty cool um let's see everyone laughing at me let's see how many of you guys noticed chris it makes it better i like it better chris is dead a smart yorkshire man noticed they did what a christmas yeah it was someone from yorkshire i think i don't know what i think it was a person from new york she noticed chris just reverted to romaji for a split second maybe that could be it maybe it's the japanese of me but yeah pretty embarrassed but this is good at least this is good well all right chris have you ever considered making a broad japan podcast a video podcast on youtube very much love from new jersey from brett thank you very much brett um i i kind of like keeping the podcast separate from video because we we don't film the podcast visually and you can't see pete or when we do it it's nice just have the audio and i feel like you're either 100 podcast or you're not in my i've always felt like that personal preference when you do a podcast you have to describe things better you have to because obviously there's no visuals involved there's not you know you can't see a weird guy in a blue shirt clutching some cider you have to sort of describe it right and uh so podcasts are very different medium but i now that we've got the studio i would like to do like a live show every week and maybe i'll kind of do a little podcasty thing there i don't know i'd like to do something more regular uh a live show just answering questions from you guys or talking about news i'll do that here so the next best thing um uh emma jane mint says don't worry about a single spelling error i'm a copywriter i have been for 12 years mistakes happen though if you need someone to proofread i'll help you out thank you very much emma i might have to take you up on that offer my proofreading skills are second to [ __ ] they're so bad um yeah i the trouble with twitter is you can't edit a tweet so i'll often write something like haha i'm eating family mart chicken and then i'll spell something wrong and i won't be able to edit it and then i hate myself so [ __ ] twitter and [ __ ] spelling mistakes on my part honestly still the good thing is misspelt volcano still made it to number 14 on the itunes singles chart so pretty happy with that um chris hi chris with new laws our airbnb is still good in japan i'm thinking about a month in osaka and doing short trips from there bonus question what is japan's best chain restaurant oh oh we've opened pandora's box there best chain restaurant ah ah i know best chain restaurant so i realized it's turned into asmr eating two near the microphone best trained restaurants called and it's kind of like a te shocker lunch place it's spelled o o t o y a and uh i go there like once a week for lunch it's actually really good um really great place and airbnb yeah nice fine i think there's a there's a lot less airbnbs now than there used to be because the regulations but they're still there and you can still use them yeah chris i was quite happy not noticing your spelling error thank you says delta bite yeah i wish i was already regretting saying it i'll have to destroy this live show afterwards i have to burn it to the ground so nobody sees it past here um my grave error chris i was watching premiere 2 and he said that he doesn't know what the clash is he asked us not to tell chris says arsenie [ __ ] pete premier 2 my best american friend who came with me to hokkaido he doesn't know who the best band in the world ever is i'm disgusted i'm ashamed and i'm not going with him on my trip to okinawa now that i promised we would go on damn up how could you not know who the clash are um chris when japan opens its borders to tourists would you consider doing a meet and greet with your viewers yeah i mean as i said earlier on the show alex i uh i'm really up for doing like a meet-up event in tokyo like renting out something crazy like a cinema or a theme park let's rent out disneyland let's let's destroy it i hate i hate [ __ ] disneyland but for hmm i'd love to do something real i really would a big like a broad japan cinematic universe extended event we'll have everyone there there'll be me natsuki ryotaro pete dawson and more um we got one here from garrick it says chris can you give a shout out for my friend francine stop watching and study for her exam she's a huge fan [ __ ] sake francine get back to work study you only get one shot in life so take your chance stop watching this go and take your exam good luck and derrick is a good friend um god i still have nightmares that i uh i often have nightmares that i'm i'm somewhere i don't want to be i think we all have those nightmares but i have to have nightmares that it's like the night before a university exam that will define my career define my life and then like i [ __ ] up or i don't go to the exam or i get lost or like i fall down the stairs on the way to the exam which might might have actually happened once or twice but i yeah i still have nightmares about it so good luck with that there's that's the end of that story there's no more knowledge there no more knowledge i can give you there rather than do your best do your best um but you know what lots of people succeeded without needing to do well at exams so it's not the end of everything i do remember cheating on an exam once kind of and i don't know if i should talk about that i don't want to trash my career even more today i mean i've already admitted i can't spell the word volcano so i don't want to dig an even bigger hole but sometimes cheating can be okay it went in an exam environment um but yeah i don't want to dig a hole um chris i entered the stream at macarons and cider that's an absolute me mood i appreciate you um i appreciate everything love from australia beth thank you beth thank you very much i think i think the live show peaked to be honest at macarons insider that was the high point it's all been downhill since then making admissions i'm an idiot eric says when i open my new orleans restaurant you have to come and try the food you can even do a video and call it a broad and a pan i would love to do that eric i'd love to do that message me once you've set up your new orleans restaurant in tokyo hit me up hit me up like message me send me an email anything get me down there love to come um chris you always make me laugh to tears thank you says uh nikita laughter tears that's a lot that's a lot of laughter i died i haven't laughed and cried in years yeah i don't yeah laughter thank you very much niki you i struggling to compete laughing and crying at the same time i mean i i i don't try to be funny and i don't i'm just a sarcastic idiot in a room making lots of mistakes and uh that's that's all that's it really it look at me trying to be philosophical off that i'm not um we've got one here from jersey travelers chris you're cheating yourself the podcast in the audience by not putting it on youtube almost every single podcast is on youtube you're right you're right we should probably do it go on bully pete donaldson it's his fault um ryan says have you ever done psychedelics um no i don't think i have no and i don't want it because i've got a really wild [ __ ] up imagination and i know if i had some psychedelics it would just make me like picture a [ __ ] bear with a knife and it'd be like [ __ ] awful so no i don't really want to do it i don't really like doing drugs i don't like losing control um alcohol in moderation is good bit of weeds great but beyond that i'm not really a fan but you know i think do it go for it have fun only live once uh arsene month has any plans on making a new hate comments video those are my favorite i've rewatched them constantly i don't think i've had much hate recently um yeah i don't know why either the world's got better or youtube's filters have got better yeah that'll be it um i i don't know though i i think no i don't get that many anymore i do keep an eye out though like nobody loves reading hate comments more than i do and in fact the last hate comment reading video was on this channel about three months ago so if you missed it check it out it's quite fun always fun to film it's always fun to turn hate into something positive and good uh have you got any more book recommendations i read samurai william that you recommended and it was unput downable thank you chris created a noun there unput downable i what other books are there um the people who eat darkness by richard lloyd parry is an incredible book quite sad quite emotional but incredibly well written and also unput downable people who eat darkness richard lloyd parry it's not a happy book but it's very very good and actually better than samurai william for my money um and no they're not fiction and yes i'm having too much fun with the cameras look at that that's pretty fun um chris what's your plans for the weekend also can you tell uh nehor to stop watching you and sleep because she needs to wake up for work she's watching me stop watching me and sleep questioning [ __ ] sake neil go to sleep stop watching this stop watching a british guy in a room alone somewhere in the middle of a japanese city eating crisps drinking cider and eating [ __ ] macarons there's better things to be doing all of you you should go and do something productive i don't deserve your attention i don't deserve any of this but thank you very much steve says my wife and i visiting japan next year if restrictions are lifted we'd love to buy you a natsuki a beer well thank you very much steve and hopefully we can take you up on that offer if we're able to do an event and if japan is open next year thank you all the best um andrew says blast you should blast london calling next time pete's in the studio keep up the good work mate all the best from dublin oh man i love dublin brilliant place for christmas i i went i've been in dublin once i went for christmas and it was just so [ __ ] good it was everything i thought ireland would be like yeah it was great i love dublin need to go again and yes london calling i will next time pete premiere 2 is in this room i will bully him and strap some sony headphones noise can't noise cancelling mega headphones to his head and not allow them to be removed until he's listened to all of london calling um one here nimblefox chris have you met the tokyo furry community they have an amazing bar called the wolf bar i know a lot of them watch you i don't know what a lot of that is what is the tokyo tokyo furry community wolf bar so many i mean the person that wrote this nimble fox nimble fox um what's the taking what is the tokyo fairy community i have to look that up hey siri what's the tokyo fairy community it's working now okay i found this on the web for what's the top furry community check it out didn't work didn't work at all i got instructions for a ferry that goes to tokyo one ferry tokyo one ferry yeah that didn't work take it [ __ ] tokyo ferry community i'll look it up all right tokyo fairy community here we go what's it like going to a japanese furry convention what is this japan meetings of fairies the precarious state of the japanese fury community wow i mean i'm guessing it's people that like foxes and rabbits and bears i probably get completely wrong today but i'll check it out afterwards we've got one here from immature pixel chris thank you for the years of entertainment are there any onsen recommendations you have near tokyo yes um the best onsen resort in tokyo in the tokyo area it's not it's kind of near tokyo it's probably kusatsu and it's in the mountains of uh gunma and it's about uh about a three hour journey you need to hop on a train to get to somewhere in guma but it's in the mountains beautiful place kusatsu it's spelt k-u-s-a-t beautiful place highly recommend it smells a lot like sulfuric acid and sulfur dioxide so if you've got asthma enjoy an inhaler take lots of inhalers and prepare to suffocate as i found out um alison becker 94 presumably because alison becker was born in 94. um watched squid game yet what's your favorite pick for the new james bond i haven't watched i've watched like the first 10 seconds of squid squid game because somebody said watch it um i was very busy but i'm gonna go and check it out because everyone's harassing me to watch it and i'm always late to the party on things like i didn't watch game of thrones until like season three even though now i loved i loved it amazing series uh apart from the last series which was nothing short of [ __ ] um but squid game i'll check it out and favorite pick for new james bond ah i i don't know something a part of me thinks robert patterson would be good on the other hand i don't know though i don't i don't think about it because i still i really like daniel craig as james bond i thought it was really good no time to die wasn't the bad film i'd give it a six or seven out of ten um the first half was amazing second half and then not so much but gonna miss him as james bond he did an incredible job of it and an incredible series with some notable exceptions like quantum asolis matthew loomis says many westerners in japan who start youtube never make it past 20 000 subscribers why is that how would you try to stand out in such an environment what i would say is the channels that do really well are the ones these days that do well anyway it was different back in my day you could you could get by as a vlogger before and just vlog about your life these days you've got to have like a sort of a tangible teaching point um you've got to make it not about you to get people through the door so i would say focus on aspects of japan maybe like maybe like make some mini documentaries maybe um teach teach viewers about something rather than making it about you and i think you'll find that's the way to go like a good friend of mine recently started a youtube channel uh i don't know if i could find it let's see if we can let's see if we can make it work um look there's me uh i can't even interact i'm still struggling how to use this bloody thing it's called champs japanese kitchen he's a good friend of mine and i did help him like promote his channel this is and i'm not showing this just i'm showing you this for educational purposes um this guy is his name is your ski he's like a boxing champion in japan right he's a [ __ ] good chef he used to teach he used to make sushi and he's really good and he's only made what three four five or he's made like six or seven videos but he's got good production quality but above all he teaches the viewer something he teaches like how to cook something like he teaches how to um cook a recipe and he's gone from zero subscribers and zero views and zero everything to 123 000 subscribers in just four months which is an incredible achievement um and he's done it because he's on point he teaches something right he teaches how to cook um now granted he's got a bit of an advantage he's a japanese guy he's a boxer he's pretty cool uh you know but look at that he's got a belt and everything what more could you want a belt um he's great and um i highly recommend checking him out but he's he's like a great case study on how to succeed in youtube right you've got to teach viewers something and get them through the door like don't make it about yourself until later on down the line um went off on a bit of a tangent there and talked for ages chris i saw the vampire cafe video with frame of travel when you were a guest have you been to any other themed cafes i love your videos constantly re-watch journey across japan thank you very much pat i remember the vampire cafe all too well it was a weird experience i think i don't think i've ever been to any more themed cafes that's not true i have been to japan's worst bar or japan's worst restaurant um it was a shocking experience japan's what was it called japan's worst bar i'll type in my channel togo's crazy bar this one um i mean let me play the opening 10 seconds and after this live stream saver go and check it out and you'll you'll see that i'm not exaggerating um let's move that there you'll see that i'm not exaggerating here that this this is definitely the worst bar in japan and quite a trippy [ __ ] experience here we go [Music] [Applause] words fail me [Applause] i mean i i can't i don't even want to describe what happened at the start there because it's so dodgy and bad um but yeah go there and make sure you've got a counsellor lined up for ptsd afterwards that's all i'll say um chris i'm still pissed that you said tennant tenet wasn't a good movie it is god tier all right tenet is all right it's an okay film i just didn't give a toss about the characters and maybe that's fine maybe that's all right it was an interesting experience i need to rewatch it though i find with christopher nolan's films the first time you watch them you kind of go oh that's good and it's not until the second or third time you go okay now i see what he's trying to do and maybe i need to do that with tennant maybe i need to do that again um careful of looking up fury during the live stream oh god that's probably a good thing i did it um do it later as it involves things that are 18 plus as they say uh love the studio setup and the podcast all the best from ohio oh [ __ ] what was i looking into good god oh my god these crisps have got to look at his face i mean i gotta show you this i don't know how many of you have any of you guys actually seen this video like it gets proper proper bonkers around here actually i've done it [Music] yeah i mean [Laughter] oh my god this video it's a miracle youtube didn't like banner it's a miracle youtube left that up to be honest go and watch that video it's great um lots of people now debating if tennant is a good film i always say tenant because tennet is a difficult word to say in a tenet um crazy chris please turn down the volume before you start something like this you just woke my baby oh good god so [ __ ] sorry stephanie sorry stefan we're earphones where are you friends i didn't realize i'm still this is my first time it's my first time sorry i hope the baby went back to sleep um tenna is [ __ ] says mike tenna is is s tier visually tenet was mayor kermit on drugs lots of views on tenet mostly bad um we got one here from i feel bad for tenor oh dear um chris i just got to say that uh me and my partner love all your content and as always look forward to more you rock thank you very much it's very kind of you chris what's that picture behind you on the shelf um so we've got the we got the mount fuji with joey we've got the artwork of me that isn't overly flattering and i'm not overly happy with but it still looks cool and then up top beyond my reach and in fact beyond the reach of the lens is uh natsuki as a pirate and of course we can see natsuki is a pirate over there as well there you go that's kind of cool that's my that's the best photo i think i've ever taken we were going to film something and the rain came and [ __ ] up our shoe but when the rain stopped we got out and there was a rainbow a [ __ ] rainbow behind that ski and we took it and masterpiece love that photo probably my favorite photo i've ever taken um we got a question from no we don't we don't have a question uh what's a weeaboo's favorite state ohio howdy from the east midlands sunny day in the uk today i hate it ah is that is that the japanese joke we talked about earlier weeaboo's favorite state ohio hello in the midlands how's the midlands i'm in the midlands and years um all right i'm not doing a good job eating these i should eat some more what have we got left now you know what i've lived here in japan like 200 years now and i've seen these every day for nine years and i haven't tasted them i've never had them they're like sour sour things i don't know let's try it out i'm going to regret eating all this tomorrow morning and i create things from sweden chris will there be any more abroad in the pan videos in the future i mean there's only been one abroad japan video hasn't there and that was the one where i i was there too now there was one i made chocolate and it didn't go very well if if making chocolate taught me anything it's that i'm shouldn't be allowed in a kitchen ever but this this studio does have a kitchen and uh it's terrible it's really bad but that's what's going to make it so much fun to cook in there like i i can't show you now but the kitchen in the studio has a uh a gas cooker but i didn't pay for the gas so just cook it without any gas it's pretty grim to be honest i got a tap as well um yeah unfortunately this studio doesn't take us one step closer to a broader pan it's a step that i'm not keen to make anyway these are actually really good not that sour i wanted more sour but they're kind of nice it's just like 100 pure sugar though so i don't think i'll be getting them again i'm a healthy guy i eat only the healthiest food uh in japan and you know to get a figure like this you have to make sacrifices and um you know that's how i roll to be honest i have to make sacrifices all right we've got one here from andreas it says trey blossom combined with the beautiful japanese countryside what would you recommend regards from sweden i'd recommend i went somewhere with ryotaro once called shibata in sendai and i recommend there um let me find it how do we do it again how do we get the desktop up no uh browser yeah no i i missed cherry blossom can't be b let's go to abroad in japan let's make this bigger uh okay so so odds are if you're coming to tokyo is one of the districts you're gonna visit first and it's a beautiful part of town a little bit of a victim okay so it was oh this is so stupid why can't you navigate the browser why why would you do this obs make me allowed to navigate like i can't go i can't scroll down that's stupid all right cherry blossom abroad in japan all right uh this one one two three you're so batman you're so bad i'm i am so much disappointed i'm so disappointed about you maybe he can do it oh come on [Music] last chance [Music] so this is um yeah this is the town of shibata just south of um sendai why the subtitles on oh god awful awful um it was absolutely stunning place back then i didn't have a drone so it was difficult to do it justice but look at that this is like i think it's like 10 000 cherry blossoms down the river and it is to this day uh the most amazing cherry blossom viewing i've ever seen so yeah shibata in sendai check it out um we've got one here from riggs chris here's 20 pounds for every video i've ever watched thank you very much riggs very kind i mean if you've watched a lot of videos then that's ad revenue so don't don't feel guilty unless you're using an ad blocker in which case feel guilty feel very guilty um thank you so much riggs very kindly bear in the woods says when will you finally join norm on a camping or hiking trip i'm hungry i will join norm when hell freezes over actually norm's coming up on friday or saturday i think so i'm not going camping though i don't do camping i i'm just i'm not the sort of person that enjoys it anymore i liked camping up until the age of like 17 but it's just something about waking up in a field without a toilet or a shower or amenities or fun that i just don't like so no camping for me maybe can be with norm and then we can have like dinner and cook a fire have like a sausage and then i'll go to the upper hotel across the road and norm can can camp alone that's what we'll do amir says chris nice to see uh you had to listen to the rock arrangement um as long as you enjoyed it oh did you make it um by the way i haven't orchestrated pirates the caribbean version of you if you want oh wow thank you very much amir if you are in fact the person that made the rock version too much volcano thank you very much it was a [ __ ] good job amazing work um awesome stuff thanks man um easily won the best covers and as i said before my fav my japanese friend's favorite cover so hold on chris what's your opinion on yorkshire uh well my family are from yorkshire and i love yorkshire and i haven't been to yorkshire in two or three years there's a town called ilkley in yorkshire and i love it and i want to go back there as soon as i'm back in the uk um we've got one here from uh arseney who says any plans on visiting russia it's pretty close to japan i was always curious what does russian accent sound like to british people i mean that's a it's a dangerous one i don't know if i can do it would you like would you like to go to mcdonald's no it's more like uh i i i used to work with a girl who was from russia really nice girl years ago and i i find with russian folks it's very maybe it's just a generalization i know i find it quite hard to make russian people laugh maybe they just don't get my humor or anything i'm not particularly funny or good or anything but i just find it very hard to make russian people laugh but i had this girl i worked with i think her name was paulina very nice girl and i'd try and make her laugh it was like a challenge every time i made her like smile i felt like i'd won the [ __ ] lottery or something i remember one day i i tried really hard to make her laugh and she kind of cracked a smile and i remember she sort of looked at me and went you are a very funny man and i was like oh i'll take that [ __ ] it yeah it's great um but you know i'd love to go to russia i'd like to get a valid rostock it's not too far from here well it's kind of far but i'd like to get a vladivostok solutions salutations solutions solutions from new hampshire sounds like an i.t service salutations from new hampshire what is left on your bucket list of stuff to do in japan also who is your favorite travel partner and why my favorite travel partner is natsuki we just have so much fun and he's just so unpredictable and crazy like natsuki is so fun to travel with well i'm very lucky to travel with people like you know ryotaro and uh and joey and connor uh on journey across japan with sharla and pete donaldson like we're very lucky but natsuki for me he's the one who i just i just i love living vicariously through natsuki and he's kind of experiences along the way like he's the one that i sort of i i don't truly appreciate everything i do you know it's a crazy old life doing youtube right it's very weird and unpredictable and doesn't make sense my a lot of time to be honest um like when i look at so odds are when i look at all these videos which again i can't see because obs won't let me scroll downwards but when i look at these videos i think holy [ __ ] that's a lot of crazy stuff and living through going with natsuki and watching him do crazy stuff and have fun it really helps me appreciate it oh god i hate grammarly so much if you're writing a letter you need to get grammarly no you [ __ ] don't learn to spell actually i should probably use grammarly then i wouldn't have had the spelling error with too much volcano would i i should probably get grammarly i just hate the [ __ ] adverts um yeah natsuki absolute delight to travel with look at him look at him look at his little happy face if you're writing a letter you need to get grammarly [ __ ] on [ __ ] grammarly that's my sponsorship with grammarly down the toilet um chris you missed my last donation oh crap sorry i'm i'm russian and i really love your videos documental um documental and sarcastic laugh all the time thank you for the good work yes i can make russians laugh this is the greatest piece of news i've had all evenings thank you very much uh yuki or uki uh that has made my day i'm delighted that uh people from russia actually do get my humor uh we've had one from uh gigi gigi he's inside from chicago he's a rental car necessary to explore hokkaido or can you see a good amount of sights by trade i've always wanted to go there i don't know why that voice i don't know why i did that voice i just something about rental cars made me want to sound like ian mckellen um yeah i think if you come to hokkaido having a rental car will make it better but it's not essential like you can explore hakodate and sapporo and nabori betsy hot springs you can you can explore them all by train and buy bus and stuff so it's not essential but it'll make it a lot more fun and i love road tripping around hokkaido and in fact i've got another road trip in hokkaido planned later this year with joey the animation man joey the animation man i can't even say his name that's what happens when you drink a glass of cider in a half a bottle of vodka um we've got one here from uh what's this dave van bears chris love your content thank you very much dave it's very kind of here um brendan chris my friend wants to visit japan one day but he's a muslim and i know that there's not much halal food available are there any food places or dishes that are muslim friendly for my friend love from singapore yes brenda there are lots of halal pale i don't know if there's lots but they do exist they do they do exist um it's not my area of expertise i've never had to go looking for halal food um but i have seen it i have seen it a fair bit so i think in tokyo you won't have any problems at all it might be more difficult sort of outside in the countryside but in big cities like tokyo osaka kyoto sendai i don't think i have too much problems um jay culler i hope that's your real name jay jay culler that might be the coolest name ever since chris broad jay culler says greetings from minnesota any ideas for a gantt collab to complete the trash taste set yes i would love to collab with gantt i mentioned it already this evening he's the the final piece of the trash taste puzzle i have been on the top of volcano with joey i've been on an airplane with joey and ridden a horse with connor i've crossed a bridge and been to 400 [ __ ] love hotels with gantt though i've done nothing and i'd like to change that i'd like to rectify that so if god if you're watching let's go to somewhere and sit in a hot tub i don't know why hot tub sprung to mind i think it's because i've been to lots of onsen with joey and connor and i want to go with gun okay i'm digging a hole now i just want to hang out with gun let's hang out he's definitely not gonna want today he's probably scared now hopefully he doesn't see all this nobody tell him what i've just said or done um chris any plans to go to yokosuka i can never pronounce your custocar yokosuka it's the place where the american navy base is in near yokohama that's it yokohama why can't i pronounce it yokosuka i have no plans to go there um although i've always get really nice uh american service men and women who invite me down to various american military bases and like part of me is like yeah i'll go i'll go to an american military base clutching my uh clutching my nerf shotgun see how that goes down yeah actually that's a really bad idea but no i'd love to go i i love jet fighter planes and navy boats and it would be cool i'd love to go when the time is right that sounds really sinister and i'd like to go jordan elaine says chris the new studio looks great cheers from manchester thank you so much jordan um it's very kind of you and i hope to show you the full tour give you the full tour um later this month as i said earlier on guys and um i i this is like a quarter of the studio what you can see now um a lot of the cool stuff like the the really amazing bit of the studio isn't actually here yet it's kind of 50 done but uh i'll look forward to showing you all around uh it's going to be good i think you're going to be surprised how absurd it is and for once i'm not exaggerating it is going to be crazy um but thank you jordan elaine thank you very much i hope all is well in manchester i haven't been to manchester in a while i've only been to manchester once and i went to the most amazing fish and chip shop fish and chip restaurant and i can't remember the name of it but it had a very cool it felt almost like a american 1920s burger joint it was really weird and maybe that helps you know which one it is probably not i'll have to find out i have to find it later but yeah manchester pretty cool place underrated uh nabarro says chris hi from indonesia i'm visiting i'm planning on visiting um more museums when i visit japan what are your recommendations my recommendation the best museum i've ever been to in japan or maybe just ever in general uh navara is this one uh what was it called um japanese hot spring thousands yeah hopefully this brings it up yes this is it so in the city of takayama which oh you can see a little map there there it is in the city of takayama what's that see i can't read that i can't see looks looks interesting um in the city of takahama in central japan there is a museum so brilliant so magical it beggars belief um it's called the showa calm literally uh the sh like the short era i think it went from like 19 20 oh 1926 to 1989 i could be wrong probably am wrong um but the showa museum it's got lots of cool memorabilia from that era so if we look here you've got a cat and a window i love that cat i was i was walking down the street filming this video and while i was on my way to go and do something i just saw this woman and this little [ __ ] cat and the cat was so cute and funny it was just like ripping at the um the shorty sliding doors right and be like wow and the woman was like and the cat was like [ __ ] off and just kept like ripping the paper and it was so fun i was so good to watch that i don't there's any sound effects for this section let's have a look uh some tasty a5 uh hidden it's time to see if we can find a backdrop for dr jelly this cat he's wanting to slash the shoddy doors the woman's like stop it and it's like no while the shogi slasher cat is takayama's undeniable [Music] highlight in firm second place is one of japan's largest retro museums the takayama showa khan where you can transport yourself back in time to the 1950s and 60s with streets shops and even classrooms recreated in impressive detail that's so cool just like a 1950s 1960s style we haven't come here to watch me watch my own videos but that museum is so good and if you go to any museum in japan one museum may get that one and maybe the mirai khan future museum in uh in um mid icon where is it the mir icon future museum in odaiba that's also very good um got one here from bailey greetings from canada chris if you're ever looking for a good apple cider i highly recommend angry orchard it has the perfect sweet to dry ratio do you work for do you work for andrew angry orchard by any chance bailey i'll check it out though sounds cool thank you very much bailey jonathan ray says you should get a shinkansen bullet train set for your studio and make it run over a miniature rioter thank you for the videos they make me happy no thank you jonathan the idea of running rioter over with a train makes me very happy as well i do know what i did actually consider getting a train set to come in the studio but then i didn't do it and uh yeah i i'd love to do it i didn't know where it would go though really i can have it on the table like going around here or something um some lots of people saying angry orchards good chris have you tried chris have you drunk enough cider to speak american yet says rebecca no i i didn't i do american earlier haven't i done enough didn't i make fun of grammarly in an american accent isn't that enough chris i tried sleeping but i'm here an hour late still live i see laugh out loud what's going on still complaining i never complain go back to bed get yourself to sleep uh chris i wanted to say i love exploring japan vicariously through your videos keep up the great work thank you very much argumentable um i mean i feel incredibly lucky to uh to be able to travel japan i you know i take it for granted i do take it for granted i think because i've spent a lot of so odds are if you're coming to because i've spent a lot of this last sort of year or two just wanting to um wanting to go back to the uk and see friends and family i've forgotten how awesome it is to be here and to travel and to do things so that's a that's a problem on my part um i'm very lucky though and i need to remember that more need to remember that and chris thank you for your interesting and funny content do you consider setting up more fan art in the studio cheers says ae i'd love to i'd love to have like a fan art corner i'm actually planning to do that because the studio has lots of spaces and i think it'd be really cool to uh to have like a big section for fan art so yes you're gonna do that for sure absolutely once things are sorted out a bit more because right now it's chaos absolutely chaos chris you're the best ever i miss osaka and tokyo i hope to return when it's easier due to covert please come to new york city would love to absolutely natsuki and i we both really want to go to new york city it's our favorite place that we want to go actually natsuki wants to go to texas and i want to go to utah so maybe new york's like third texas utah new york then we'll go uh i feel really bad if we went all the way to america and we just didn't go to any of the major cities to do like a meet-up we just went to like really obscure places like in a field in utah but now i'm definitely gonna do it um chris i'm from brunei but now i'm working in tokyo um i discovered your videos in 2016. thank you for that i moved to japan in 2017 love your work thank you very much i hope your life in japan has been going very smoothly and it's been good uh jay says thank you i do have the coolest name ever this is jay cutler he's back in the room jay cutler um it's actually his name well jay culler that's a pretty cool name um thank you i'm definitely getting that clipped and put on my youtube channel brilliant um sean chris what's your favorite countryside destination in japan much love from canada my favorite countryside destination in japan it's a good question and indeed i will show you uh what the what's this channel called we're on now across abroad [Music] [ __ ] what's it called i did a video last year and i can't find it driving in japan i think it's interesting because this youtube channel used to be called a broad perspective i i changed the name like two years ago or something but it still shows up as chris abroad annoying so my favorite uh scenery countryside scenery in japan is in tohoku and probably to be more specific it's in yamagata prefecture and i did a video last year called driving in japan one of my favorite videos love that video and in that video i did a little montage in the opening minute and the scenery was just so good i i i've always struggled i've always felt like i've never done justice to scenery in japan no matter how you film it you feel like you've never done it justice and for the first time when i made this video i think between the scenery and the music i kind of it kind of did the beauty of the japanese countryside justice and i will share a bit of that with you now but this was all shot in the area of uh sakata and shawnai in yamagata not too far from where natsuki lives and beautiful place and i was very lucky to live there for three years when i was a teacher and call it uh call it home do [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Music] cheers so i uh interesting stories about this video actually the first is the song is by uh i think a british japanese artist uh called shin sazuma really great guy and actually after this video a lot of people messaged him saying i heard your song on this weird british guys video and he does like some driving and shin the guy that composed this song reached out to me and uh and very kindly you know reached out to me and we've i've used quite a few of his songs over the years because they're so beautifully composed but um fun fact though so this this was like some shots from the driving in japan video and i if you look at this shot here at the end uh you can see natsuki and i look at this island right and this island is actually supposed to be the island you can see it here you can't see the cursor but the it's supposed to be the island of tobashima which natsuki and i later visited and put out in a video last month um when natsuki dressed up as a pirate and went mental but the um this beach the day we shot this the weather was absolutely terrible really bad and this everything in the top third of the image is actually like cgi is actually uh composited on um i spent like a day doing it and nobody really noticed which is good i didn't get any comments about it but all of that sky is fake the island is fake and the fishing boat is fake and you can probably tell now that i've told you but actually until that point uh nobody has commented um the reason i did that is because it looked just dreadful like it was it would have been a really depressing ending to the video to have like this this cool like video and then just have natsuki and i sitting on a beach in the rain in filth looking just depressed so i i lied i staged that but i have no regrets because that's one of my favorite shots of the year even if it wasn't real you know and that's what video is all about um telling a story it doesn't have to be the reality of things um but yeah i love that video i love that video we've got some questions we've got one from zero eight eight zero four seven three sounds like uh robot having sex do you need a scotsman to complete the do you need a scotsman to complete the wacky stuff you do you have an englishman a welshman but no scotch no scotsman or irishman i'm up for the job if i move to japan send me a cv or make it happen um definitely we've got one here from helen the hobbit williams chris some of my favorite videos of yours are the documentary style ones do you have any more plan for the future i do have a documentary planned in the pipeline right now right here but i can't tell you about it for another two weeks two weeks time i'll tell you about it what it is it's gonna be a good day like really good um addy's world says i'm just now watching but glad to see you're keeping the quality of abroad japan consistent by watching your own videos see i'm i i'm giving the impression today that i do watch a lot of my videos but i don't to be honest but i actually should because i think it is good i think it's a good benchmark i i pour my heart and soul into like every video i make and i think it's good to go back and remember the hell i went through to make each video and keep this sort of quality consistent um scooty mcfluff that's a cool name that's what i want to name my my first born son scooty mcfluff says chris screams from rainey oregon what's your favorite cup of tea by the way the new studio looks great uh keep up the great work cheers scooty scooty mcfleef my my favorite tea is oh gray i love the citrusy fruity undertones of earl grey well i haven't had it i haven't had it in a while i've been drinking mostly coffee uh in japan i'm a man of fine taste as you can tell for particularly british viewers costa coffee yeah costa coffee whenever i tell connor sea dog va that i drink coffee he loses his [ __ ] oh man 100 coffee coffee it's it's good day it's good who made costa coffee chris i've been a fan since 2016. i love the videos i'm missing japan loads love from singapore it's pronounced okay i know i know my pronunciation of some japanese words is pretty dodgy um i do say karaoke wrong like i just did there it should be it's like two a's so k k-a-r-a-a-g-e can i get can't do it can't do it i just wanna tell you what the hardest word to say in japanese do you know what it is let's see if you guys can guess it in the comments what is the hardest word to say in japanese let me know in the comments and i will preview right or wrong chris it's a great stream do you go to many gigs in japan says i don't think i'm into any gigs in japan in hindsight unfortunately i did want to go to fuji rock but kovid stood in the way the last gig i went to was uh filming the documentary for hyde from uh larkinciel for the documentary two years ago um no i'd love to go tomorrow i really wanted to go and see some some uh some comedians in tokyo some foreign comedians that come over to tokyo but again kovid sarah says chris love the content i was wondering how much time you spend on sound posts production i spend a lot of time on sound um don't underestimate the importance of sound design and sound effects like it's so [ __ ] important um and i do put a lot of effort into that uh often more than the visuals but yeah no sound design is really important don't be afraid to use sound effects spend ages looking for the right song i probably spend literally i have these days where i just write off the entire day and i will just listen to music and tracks from various websites like epidemic sound or premium beat i'll spend ages until i find the exact right song um but it's worth it when you find it trust me uh mccoy 33 says chris my best buddy mate my best buddy mate from the uk introduced me to your channel i love it i live in southern utah and i'd love for you to come visit it's a beautiful state with tons of places to explore come check it out soon i would very much love to do that count me here thank you very much mccoy i am i can't was the place in utah i really wanted to go i think it was something like um zion national park uh zion national park come on please tell me that's the place yes zion national park in utah that's where i want to go that's like top of my list if you've been there i hate you because i'm very jealous and you're very lucky um chris i just joined and i want to say i dig the look of the studio any japanese drinks recommendations much love from malaysia says derpy yes my drink of choice derpy is this as i said earlier this is the kodawari it is a [ __ ] amazing drink it kind of tastes like somebody dropped like a bucket of honey into some vodka and some lemons and that's what it tastes like the only reason i'm probably not gonna drink this tonight is because i've already had a lot of vodka a lot of cider and i'm amazed i'm still alive and performing the live stream well chris when you look at your videos like this with us do you feel cringe or do you think look at what i made here also i love how you remember all your videos it says ishayat thank you i am ishat i am i think that i do remember nearly all of my videos because i make like what two videos three videos a month so it's not too many and um and of course i've been editing the videos for the last nine years so every video is like a mini project and for everyone i really immerse myself in it um the presenting the scripting of them it starts you know starts with the idea the title of the video scripting presenting my least favorite bit admittedly um and and then editing and i really enjoy it it's a lot of fun and i do remember each video for the most part for the most part um okay i need to go back up and see what the most difficult japanese phrase to say was um it looks like a few of you have guessed it yes mainly because i i've already said uh the most difficult phrases to say in japanese here we go from the viewers to eat and walk tame oh that's a good one from uh rosberg yeah tam is a difficult word it's spelt t-e-n-i-n um and it means like shop staff and it's it's a hard word to say tenem tenem him i can't do it though i always messed up and my japanese friends don't know what i'm saying when i say it um what's that say uh store come on can't read that today why can't i read japanese today is it all the cider is it because there's some weird spelling um yeah to heat up that's a tough word i can't say it [ __ ] basically means to heat up um yeah i mean i really shot myself in the foot here today no for me though the most difficult japanese word to say is drum roll cold brew coffee i drink cold brew coffee a lot i get it from starbucks it's pretty good i love the nice undertones of awesomeness and and i just love it but it's a difficult word to say it's kind of like [Music] and i suppose i said it all right then korodobu [Music] i i mean i struggle with coffee first off because coffee is like corgi [ __ ] tongue twister but like i might be able to say it now but like when you're standing in front of the shop staff and they're like hey i'm like uh called the broker offer and it just it just goes to [ __ ] coral double graffiti i just [ __ ] nightmare i can't do it hey yeah the only thing more difficult is uh that japanese confectionary which i haven't seen in a while the first hate mail video that i did uh there was a sweet some sort of weird chocolate crap and it was called uh in japanese it was called capri coco capri caprico and i it's just the sheer number of seas when you say in english it's like capricorn cop cat political capricot it was really absurd capricorn stupid [ __ ] confectionary why can't i just call it ghana keep it simple call your chocolate ghana or liberia libera or gabba for sleep don't call it caplica cop stupid name say my name chris make my day says filippio there you go philip i've made your day congratulations um hello from sunny maidstone chris i love your videos and i'm subbed on patreon any plans in the future to film travel videos in any other locations i yes yes going to hokkaido with uh joey next month and uh i've actually got a video with ryotaro coming out the great and all-wise and all-knowing ryotaro uh for he and i went to akita prefecture and that will be coming out sometime in the next two weeks i'd say let's keep an eye out for that i need to get like a a rotary poster for this studio so i can like fill out this and then like get some all-important target practicing so like let's imagine what's like ryotaro that's imaginatsuki's ryotaro right i could be like boom the [ __ ] stupid cheap piece of crap boom yeah 31 years old 31 years old um okay what we got doc canister says are you youtuber i am indeed i am indeed youtuber i cut that bloody clip it's everywhere on youtube these days if you haven't seen it i was on japanese tv once and they decided it would be funny to interview me by knocking on my front door and asking me in english are you youtuber and i was like uh yeah i am and they were like and that was it it was brilliant very clever chris i watched you since i was in secondary school i have since finished college and started a career in film animation and visual effects it's amazing to see grow exponentially and having you as a constant creator in my life for the last decade thank you very much that's really kind of you and i hope i mean i feel kind of old now that you've you've gone from secondary school to college to film career to industrial light and magic like [ __ ] that's amazing well done a toast to you um please help me help me do visual effects i uh my dream was to make a film this year i failed that dream i mean i've got a studio you can't have you can't have your whole cake and eat it looking around for a cake now um but i i you know i'd love to do a film and i'm going to need some visual effects help so drop me a line but well done thank you for watching all these years um chris how long does it take to learn japanese while being in the country it's i mean i know people that have been here 200 years and they can barely string ascendance together there's no chance in hell some of my friends that have been here 10 years can say complex words like corrodor blue cochi it all comes down to a your personality i recently spoke to a good friend of mine who speaks japanese fluently they are another youtuber i'll let you guess who they are and they were like it's really easy to learn japanese and pick it up naturally in everyday conversation i was like it's not though is it like they were like i've never learned japanese from a textbook and i was like well i have i like some people are magic magic right they they can walk down the street and listen to people having conversations and just magically pick up the language i am not one of those people i never will be you know people have different mindsets for me i i studied so many hours of my first second and third year first and second year in particular when i was at my desk not teaching in the pockets of free time i had i would sit on my laptop and i would like you know study japanese to look good because the teachers would come past and if you're doing something productive like learning japanese they're like uh crucified they'll praise you if you're sitting there watching youtube or something which many of you are now when you should be working get back to work or go to bed if you're sitting at your desk like [ __ ] about teachers won't be impressed so i i used a lot of my free time to learn japanese and that saw me through but it takes a long time it takes a lot of commitment and the reason why japanese isn't better is because i i'm a kind of got an all-or-nothing personality which sounds both cool and very pretentious and stupid but the the fact is i i i'm either 100 dedicated to get the job done right or i'm like not at all i either have to be all in on something or i just don't do it and so for the first two years living here i was all in on learning japanese i was like yes gonna [ __ ] do it and then after the after the second year i realized oh [ __ ] i'm going to finish teaching next year because i don't want to do this anymore and i don't know what i'm going to do but then luckily youtube had taken off and youtube for me was a career path and then i focused everything on youtube and that's how i became youtuber i am youtuber uh are you youtuber [ __ ] it and and so but then when i did that i got carried away with the camera bun and i did this a lot and then i he lost my train of thought no but i i i got so obsessed with doing youtube that i kind of forgot to study japanese and so that's how the all or nothing thing kicks in so in short it takes you a long time to learn japanese but being in the country will definitely help alexa matthews says chris the lemon sour is calling your name trying to make me an alcoholic alexa how dare you uh on another night uh i will make it a life goal to meet you in person wait say my name as well i should have requested that sooner alexa matthews well done um yeah maybe you will meet me it's to me never meet your idols or people you like or look up to that's you know that's that's something i've learned over the years for a lot you know just just certainly youtubers most youtubers i meet who i see on youtube than i mean in real life they're very disappointing especially me i'm like i'm very disappointed you'll meet me and you'll go oh [ __ ] hell why'd i bother getting on the train like it's not good and i i'd say like maybe 60 of youtubers i've met i've met and had a conversation then gone oh they're like that so bear that in mind and i'll be the same if you meet me it'll be disappointing and you'll hate that you ever watched the abroad japan channel really doing wonders here for my career bamalot says chris you've lived in japan for 200 years now and still can't speak the language what a miserable failure you are this is a real comment i'm just joking you're the best cheers from finland thank you very much bamalot i suspect hidden under there is some element of truth thing you know i am uh i love these crisps there's no way i'm leaving here without these crips these crisps finished i can't even say crisps now um i i do feel like i do feel like a bit like a failure with my japanese and that's why i'm really studying hard at the moment um but uh thank you bamalot for for destroying my self-esteem and for making me feel really good about myself thank you now cheers love to go to finland even though i find the moomins namely terrifying but deeply unsettling i just don't get the movements i don't know what's going on there what else is in finland nokia they were good um now i'd love to go to finland they would be cool would be nice but maybe not winter it's too cold actually whenever i go back to the uk the plane flies over finland and i always look out the window and think [ __ ] you know it looks cold there um i would love to go though enough about that chris i've just finished film school we'd love to help you with your visual effects needs stay safe from singapore thank you very much and well done i'm finishing film school i would love to go to film school that's a dream that will never happen for me um thomas and thomas larson says chris you may not remember but i was the guy who asked about bringing a toddler to japan uh we're waiting but he loves too much volcano oh yeah i remember the toddler in japan situation uh chris my friend just messaging me there um i remember i hope you're doing well mate mike says what's up from california chris i love his stuff what's your number one favorite japanese food also do you plan to have natsuki or yotoro on live with you in the future i do wow they're [ __ ] good um i would love to have natsuki and natsuki on the show it'd be really good i i i think i'm trying to convince natsuki i've got the same problem with natsuki at the moment same as joey keep trying to convince them to become a sendai neither of them want to come i think in hindsight my friendship with both of them is ribbons because i haven't given them the 33.33 earnings from too much volcano get descending i'll pay you both come on but uh no i think natsuki is going to hopefully come next week and then he will get the earnings from too much volcano all 333 of it but thank you very much abdullah says chris hello from saudi arabia i've been enjoying the videos and humor for a long time now and even more so nowadays with how great the cinematography has been here's to many more great videos mate thank you very much abdullah very kind of you i'm glad the cinematography kind of hasn't gone unnoticed like i have been studying cinematography a lot like this i mean the lighting setup i'm pretty happy with it to be honest um if you look at i'm gonna i'm gonna give you a very quick example here um because i'm proud of it and i'm gonna show off ha ha if you look at one of my videos from last year i've really been studying cinematography in the last year and the the main thing about cinematography it all comes down to lighting getting the lighting right soft lighting shadows and whatnot um if you look at a video i did like uh what i'll never understand about japan so i did some videos in the apartment last year and if you look at it oh god shut up if you look at it it looks a bit like washed out and a bit rubbish and actually it's not as bad as i remember it's not as bad as i remember bugger but it's not great either i think i'm thinking of another video uh oh this one oh god not dolce gabbana [ __ ] off i can't all right so look at this video and it looks pretty [ __ ] it's not like [ __ ] [ __ ] but it's it's kind of [ __ ] and then you look at a video from this year like uh 12 things 12 reasons japan not to move to japan so look at that memorize that to be fair it's not as bad as i remember but it's not great either and you look at this one and like the lighting is much better now there's some nice color contrast going on in hindsight i'm not the biggest fan of this color here the sort of teal color should have been more blue i think kind of like it is now in the background here but like it's much easier to look at i think because you've got like different you've got like lights on the the sort of contrast of colors the the the gold and the teal so yeah i've put a lot more effort into cinematography in recent times and it's fun and i'm glad you've noticed abdullah thank you very much um and i don't want my face on my screen why am i doing that how pretentious and [ __ ] does that look uh get away get away go there yeah there's no escape i'll leave that up there it's always good to have something on screen for people to look at that isn't your just your face um that's what i've learned over the years doing youtube um mirovec says chris my dad is a proper japanophile and a massive fan of your channel thank you for your amazing content have a good always i always have a good laugh and it's very informative thank you very much meravek i'm very glad your dad uh enjoys the channel i hope you enjoy the channel as much as your dad um that would make me very happy um kyle says hello chris from the american pacific northwest i'm talking seattle or portland um we have some of the best cold brew coffee in the world sounds very jeremy clarkson like the best cold crew coffee in the world and you should visit i love your long form videos please continue pursuing your dream of making films from kyle thank you kyle now i i haven't i mean i haven't given up my dream just yet of making films i've kind of postponed it shall we say that sounds very sinister but i i've kind of just it'll happen next year we'll do it next year one step at a time i mean setting up this studio has nearly murdered me like it's nearly taken me out trying to set up this whole studio i mean look at this i built this so i did this i've never like done anything before ever like that shelf took me like three years to put that shelf together um you know you can't really see it or appreciate there's a rug down there i bought that rug i didn't make it myself but i bought the rug i printed that photo out i bought the bamboo i got that weird cheap tacky banner that you can't really see in the background there from an omiyage souvenir shop i got it all and i assembled it and you can't even see the other three quarters of the studio like it's not been easy building the studio um but once it's done and once the set is designed that was a very loud noise once the set is designed i will be hopefully have some time to make a film um katie says chris can you say hello to my boyfriend tom he's a really big fan and he's watching your stream right now tom get back to work stop lazing around watching some weird british bloke in a room in japan eating crisps having cider go and do something nice with katie go for a walk go for a walk round oxfords or bath or brighton or something have a nice day though thanks for watching i give the impression i'm not grateful i'm very grateful um thank you to ebay um i've got one from stat stapler or stapler um chris greetings from russia saint petersburg comrade chris living up to stereotypes there conrad chris um absolutely love your documentary like content looking forward to future videos yeah so again i do have a documentary coming out it it i'll announce it about two weeks but i don't know if it'll come out until early next year depending on how it goes but it is big and it should be memorable to say the least um yeah i won't spoil it i won't give too much away just now but thank you very much timur says uh privet chris from russia there's lots of everyone from russia's watching now that's good i'm glad my comments earlier i feel bad now that i said that i found it difficult to make russian people laugh clearly it was just the woman that i worked with clearly polina if she's watching didn't have the the sense of humor um poor polina um chris do you find it difficult to find personal and meaningful interactions living abroad give us a broad perspective see what he did there clever uh of someone who lives in japan chris p.s i love the big mouth artwork in the background uh all the best guys teamer what's the question um did i find it difficult to make meaningful yeah i do find difficult i think in japan it can be difficult to to break down the barrier um and make lasting and meaningful friendships in japan well i can count my my japanese friends on like one hand they're really good genuine best friends on one hand you know there's natsuki yuki uh ryotaro somewhere you know i but it is difficult it is difficult i think it i don't know why that is i think maybe it's my fault for maybe not being better at japanese um but yeah i don't know it is difficult though it was difficult um people can be difficult to open up in japan and i'm sure many of you guys in the comments can attest to that if you've sort of lived here or been here it can be difficult to get people to open up um chris those crisps are great says dark canister butter flavoured are your favorite nothing beats butter flavoured crisps memes aside thank you for the videos you made cheers to many more dark canister there thank you dark canister with your obsession with crisps um even more so than i have it seems natalie wigmore says chris the documentary is a top notch looking forward to the next one thank you very much natalie um all the best to you i don't really know what the best documentary is that i've ever made or that i'm proudest of um probably the fukushima one to be honest uh yeah probably the fukushima one because when you do a documentary do something serious when you do a documentary it needs to be kind of these are a serious point or a serious topic i feel and the [ __ ] of shimmy nuclear incident that that ticks all the boxes doesn't it but i still can't you know i i'm really proud of that one i'm really proud of that one it's it was and pretty much it was pretty moving experience and i'd love to go back to the sort of the exclusion zone take another look but they're doing a great job rebuilding it um annika says hey chris is there a chance we could see more videos that go in the artistic field uh really enjoyed the videos about architecture and buildings yeah for sure um i i've always wanted to go to the nakakin nakagin sorry capsule built i always got that wrong that for years i'm so embarrassed to admit it but um this building here i i couldn't pronounce it for years or i [ __ ] up the pronunciation of it and it it's awkward to admit that but uh yeah this building which unfortunately it will probably be gone by the end of this year the uh the nakagin tower knack again i did it again every time knack again knack again knack again not nag again [ __ ] stupid towel i'm glad they're getting rid of it can't pronounce it no i i'm really sad about this building um and it's a tragedy that's going and um but i feel very lucky to have got to go in and make a video about it and try and document it before it's gone yeah tragedy although when you go when you walk around the neck again tower um on the inside you can see why it needs to be got it needs to be kind of taken down i think there is just a staggering amount of asbestos i probably took like seven years off my life walking in that building still worth it though um i got one here from oh man so just heard a scary bang noise some sort of banging or i'm going mental cider does that chris i'm going to nagoya for foreign exchange next year and was wondering what your recommendations were for the city any hidden gems or cool things in the city thanks and love the videos um i have a reputation for not being overly nice to nagoya um and that's not going to change right now what i will say is the goya is a great jumping off point to places like takayama which we saw earlier on with the museum um it's uh you get to meer prefecture from there which has my sorry matasaka beef the most rarest brilliant beef in japan that cost like 200 for like a piece of beef that big go there but uh no i think to me nagoya is a good jumping off point to places that are good and lots of people in nagoya are going to hate me now but i don't know i i've just for me nagoya is the city you go to run away to and hide but i'm sure it's still good i i'm i'm yeah but it's going to be great good luck there in a way dear chris thank you for the amazing content these years i've learned so much and i've enjoyed many laughs along the way from cat and brittany thank you very much cat and brittany the your name is lust by night i like that lust by night that's a really cool name for a youtube channel lust by night cat and brittany thank you very much guys i love what we've gone from lust by night poetic and brilliant uh to snizzle dizzle snizzle dizzle who says okay chris i love the videos and the studio looks nice just wondering where i can get the small tv thing that has the pixel cat on it behind you this this is called a devoom d-i-v-o-o-m um it's the most incredible little bluetooth speaker and it's it's basically just a bluetooth speaker but look at this you can press these buttons listen to this noise this is amazing oh [ __ ] what's going on sounds like a train what the [ __ ] is that huh there you go it does that it make it it sounds like a train so that's good in it um i think i think my phone is connected to it and for some reason pressing a button activated the sounds of a train um yeah it does that that's good in it get one get one get one and be equally confused and amazed um [ __ ] out what time is it oh [ __ ] i've got to be up at six six six o'clock it's not even six it's like six i've gotta be up at six o'clock tomorrow to catch a bullet train to tokyo to film some videos pray for me i haven't i haven't got up that early since like 1976 like oh i'm [ __ ] how am i going to get up still i'm sure be fine chris put the cat back all right i will do as you ask um let's see okay is the cat back no that's not oh dear there you go there you go it's it's what is that [ __ ] up it's either this is creepy what what i do like about the dvd though is you can put uh you can put like any pixel art you want on you can technically draw uh pixel art yourself so here's kind of what that looks like there's like a screen there and uh you can like pick whatever goes on it i just thought cat looks kind of fun it looks like there's a creature sitting in the background lurking having fun um chris i love the videos i usually plan some spots to visit when i visit the mainland from okinawa based on your videos are there any hidden gems near mount fuji i mean lake kawaguchi in itself is a gem but there's so many great places to to go there and lake kawaguchi you can like you get a nice bike you can cycle around it a bit of exercise splash around in the lake then see mount fuji perfect perfect um and of course fuji queue highland park the greatest theme park in japan all time ever fujiku highland park and that is the park where i went and gave sharla a heart attack um let's watch that right now because that was [ __ ] hilarious uh mount fuji ruined my day it was calling i really do remember all my videos it's kind of sad isn't it mount fuji ruined my dad my problem with chris broad from the abroad japan channel oh no not another one i hope daniel's all right daniel hiding my room hope he's doing well so uh that was clever there wasn't 700 mount fuji majestic iconic spectacular nightmare to see in person and that's that clever thought i used a postcard um yeah somewhere around here fuji queue highland park i convinced charlotte to go on a roller coaster for the first time ever and she's got like a phobia of roller coasters which i don't you know i can't properly comprehend because i enjoy roller coasters i can't imagine what it must be like to feel scared to go on one actually that's a lie this roller coaster was [ __ ] terrifying but uh here's how charlotte reacted to going on the biggest roller coaster in japan for the first time and quite honestly the last time i think no no face of fears face fears on the cycle yes no yes how do your this is it how do you feel horrible [Music] i'm a little bit scared [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah go on that one to ten [ __ ] you loved it um yeah go there fujiki highland park that's that's oh god what a horrible sight there you go let's leave that on screen and not my horrible face poor old charlotte going on that silly ride um but yeah go there um chris i really admire your high quality content unlike most youtube channels these days what's the next big project you're creating uh says bilalra uh the next big project is a secret but i am planning on doing a wacky weekend with connor um i don't know if that's a big project it's just connor and i sitting in a car doing something stupid or in a love hotel isn't it but um i do have some some cool stuff lined up that i can't talk about just yet but uh yeah keep an eye out and thank you uh for your lovely kind remarks um we got one here from yarn who says drinking apricot spirits and eating chili crisps while watching or drinking cider and eating crisps it's more entertaining than i thought thanks for the pleasant evening thank you i'm glad i've i've kind of passed the benchmark of your expectations i'm glad you're having fun and apricot spirit sounds quite nice actually if you drink that in japan you'll get bullied and that's because in japan all of my japanese friends like mock me if you drink something that isn't beer in japan or whiskey or a high ball you'll get [ __ ] up and like whenever i go to my friend like out for drinking with natsuki or yuki or ryotaro or anyone actually not real trade roster can't drink he's got an allergy to alcohol actuality but uh whenever you go to a japanese restaurant or a bar or anything with japanese friends you always order the same thing and that is draft beer right uh if you deviate from that and you order something that isn't a big [ __ ] glass filled with asahi beer you will get ripped apart i always go um plum wine mixed with a bit of soda it's quite fresh and they're like oh no call me dona of course you're like a girl ahaha and it's like yeah yeah [ __ ] off i'll i'll enjoy my drink you enjoy your big calorific [ __ ] beer i haven't got a problem with beer i don't like asahi not overly big on kieran if it's sapod or beer all right i'll do it you can count me in but yeah enjoy the apricot spirits yarn we've got one here from a anderson who says i have noticed chris a lot of your videos that when you are in a bar or other nightlife shenanigans there are not a lot of women around unless they're working are women in japan discouraged from going out and having fun uh no i don't think that's strictly true this i mean for sure there's more guys going out than the women i think it's because maybe there's more guys that work in the office in office roles or there's a bigger expectation for guys to go out drinking i'm not really sure but i i mean there's plenty of girls that go out drinking for sure um women definitely aren't discouraged from going out they're definitely not discouraged i think um in japan there's still that culture where women are very much the person that stays at home in the relationship and guys go out and do work and stuff and um it's a bit sort of traditional and outdated in some respects orange dog says chris lover videos i'm a postman from s oh fantastic i've never been i've always wanted to go to skegness i've always wanted to go up there that's like a million miles away i mean skegness feels further away from like where i'm from which is kent in southeast england near london for those who don't know uh skegness is like about as high far north as i think you can get um that feels further away to me than than japan does and in hindsight it's probably quicker to get to japan from where i'm from but uh thanks man i hope you have a nice day overall all the way over there it's um we've got one here from tinker he says chris get a kool-aish i will indeed thank you tinker i've had a coolest in a while to be honest uh coolish for those of you don't know it's like ice cream in a little packet and you squeeze it and it melts in your hand you squeeze it and it's it's really great love it pete donaldson in particular from the podcast he's like addicted to the damn things um chris i'm a big fan of you and your high quality content i always wait patiently each week for a new upload um also thank you early for reacting to my too much volcano house remix it means the world bloody hell everyone who who did a remix is commenting that's awesome thanks matt i'm um thank you for making an incredible remix of too much volcano the house mix everyone in the comments loved it so thank you and thank you to all of you guys who who are watching who did make remixes too much volcano um natsuki and i had a hell of a time listening and watching through them was a lot of fun chris it's my roommate's birthday in 10 minutes is 10 minutes time oh it's australia of course midnight um he loves your videos and he's probably watching this right now could you say happy birthday henry you smelly lazy turd much much love from australia that's nice isn't it a great happy birthday message to henry henry having a nice day ignore your evil friend ikiru and have a great birthday i don't know how old you are um but i hope you have a great [ __ ] year and i hope you're not over 30 like i am because life gets scary once you pass there but if you're in your 20s enjoy it while you can sounds ominous doesn't it but have fun good luck happy birthday henry um we got one here from momoiro this is lovely videos chris today's my husband's birthday like a magic if you could wish matt a happy birthday happy birthday matt happy birthday uh i hope you have a great day and i hope your uh partner has brought you all the gifts you deserve also i don't know if a lot of you guys know natsuki recently started like a cameo thing you know cameo where you like people send you birth you get a message from asking basically um if you want a birthday message from natsuki check him out on cameo he he's actually loves doing it to be honest um chris my friend and i have always planned to go to japan but we haven't figured out yet which city would be the best for our first visit any ideas well of course it's low hanging fruit but of course tokyo it's gotta be dumb you know um kyoto osaka hiroshima those are the key ones those are the big ones i think if you're coming to japan for the first time you have got to go to the standard cities and i say standard but tokyo is like 50 cities in one so enjoy that for me if i'd have a night out in any city in japan that city would be osaka or sucker i always pronounce it wrong i say osaka that's osaka um i don't even know if it's that i can't pronounce oh sucker all you need to know is go there it's amazing and the locals are so much fun yeah i hope you have a great trip guys um oh these crisps are so good i really want to finish them it tastes a bit like marmite if you know what marmite is it tastes like that for some reason i'd better wrap up soon guys i've got to get up in five hours ah and i have drunk a lot i'm amazed i'm still awake to be honest and alive um chris what do you think about the british educational system i think it needs a lot of free a lot of work done to it um but in many ways it's still better than japan chris thanks for staying up so late uh to bring to bring us this stream i wish you all the best with your future productions but don't forget to take care of yourself always always do let me look around look at my diet look at all this food i clearly do a great job looking after myself there's nutrition every turn here you've got chocolate you got chocolate that makes you sleepy you got potatoes you know that's a healthy diet jesus oh man all right guys i don't know is anybody still watching this i haven't really um i can't see how many people are watching the show this is a little bit awkward how many people are watching we've got three people four six thousand three hundred that's quite a lot all right well it's wednesday for a lot of you guys around the world um enjoy wednesday have fun with it i'm gonna quickly shoot through as many questions as i can please don't send any more questions in now there's no guarantee i'll be able to answer them but i'm going to quickly try and go through all the questions stevie says hi chris i watched and loved your channel for a few years now and i'm so happy you've got yourself a new studio i'm hoping to come to japan and get a tattoo next year now it's legal to do so it is legal isn't it i forgot that tattoos were technically illegal didn't stop a lot of people out here but good luck stevie i hope you get something nice i would love to get a tattoo but i just don't know what it would be of and until i i kind of know exactly what it is i just don't want to do it i don't want to commit because i know i'm going to get it and then like two days later i'll be like oh [ __ ] i don't like it now can you take it off please so yeah hopefully don't don't do that don't do that stevie do better than me uh kit fox says chris i'm a huge fan um i just want to say thank you you've recently inspired me to start some video inspired me to start some video editing uh of my own for my husband's youtube channel i've learned a lot from watching you thank you very much thank you kit fox editing it can be learned in a day but it's the sort of the nuances and the sort of intuition that takes weeks months years to develop but yeah i mean these days you can learn editing pretty quickly um it is a lot of fun it's amazing turning a video that [ __ ] into something that's like watchable it's a lot of fun and um yeah one one tip of advice try and find music first try and find the music first and then put that in before you edit it it really helps um amanda bandit says chris i was able to meet you a few years ago at the millennials ah yes that was the event for joining across japan right at the millennials i thought you were cool and genuine in person as you are on your channel thank you very much that's very kind of you um i'd say i'm nicer in real life than i am on camera um probably i don't want to get ahead of myself but thanks thank you very much i'm glad you came uh to the event lust by night again dear chris from cat and brittany again um cat has a birthday tomorrow and she'll be turning 31. so can she get one last shout out how why are people having so many birthdays tomorrow what's going on um happy birthday uh cat i hope you have a fantastic 31st birthday i too i'm 31. it's not a very nice number like it's kind of gets scary when you get to 31 you think oh [ __ ] i'll be dead one day um but other than that have a great birthday yeah i'm sure it'll be good i hope um i hope britney got you a great present something massive and brilliant and expensive from louis vuitton or something big valerie v says would you rather be an extra in an oscar-winning movie or the lead in a box office bomb bonus question um the best thing you can get in a in a vending machine uh i would be an extra in a that's a really that's a really good question ah i don't know though i think i'd rather be the lead in a box office bomb because i think if you're an extra it's incredibly hard to go beyond that but you know ryan reynolds was a lead in the green lantern and that was unequivocally [ __ ] and you know he bounced back so yeah lead leading the box office bomb for sure and i'm sure you're going to death the best thing you get a vetting machine is gaba for sleep gather for sleep of course something i'll be enjoying in a minute um chris what's the right amount of volcano the right amount of volcanoe it's a 2 200 meter strato volcano that is the best kind of volcano um kai says chris greetings from germany it's late afternoon i'm gonna die i'm choking um probably don't don't eat crisps and do a live show at the same time that's the main takeaway all right chris it's late afternoon here do you have any japanese dish snack or drink that sounded weird or gross at first but you found tasty after all yeah i do and i don't have a picture of it but um it's called it's chicken cartilage which sounds awful and you know it's just a bone basically um but they take a piece of cartilage they batter it with a bit of ketchup and the first few times i had it you sort of bite into it and you crunch and it's a bit like oh god but i tell you it gets really good and i i do like it a lot nan kotsu n-a-n-k-o-t-s-u if you want to if you want to check it out or look it up um jurassics says from hawke alarm clock to amazing videos all the time are learning japanese uh travel to japan and planning to move work and live in japan all thanks to your inspiration thank you very much thank you very much i hope you have a wonderful time in japan i hope you make most of it and i hope unlike me um you don't get woken up by a noisy hawk for the entire first year of your life in japan as i was that [ __ ] hawk i wonder where it is now it's probably dead i don't know how long horse can live how how long do hawks live um god god damn it choking to death um chris my husband is very caught up in the fact that you can't cook is there anything that you can actually cook and is your specialty i really want you to redeem yourself sorry for the roast we actually like you thank you very much gizella um i can cook an omelette i can cook an omelette i'm all right two eggs whisked up a bit of salt and pepper done omelette is that right how have i gone up on your husband's estimations do you like me now thank you to you both today um i'll prove it one day in this very room i will cook an omelette and you'll be impressed and amazed and you will like me um we got one here from h1gh3r which sounds like the launch code to a [ __ ] nuclear missile chris did you catch the tokyo lens video on the sega ikebukuro closing really enjoyed it and it reminded me of your stuff um yeah it was great i watched it in bed i think two nights ago or whenever it came out and um yeah i think norm did a fantastic job capturing the closure and the sadness of sega like what's going on in tokyo all these amazing buildings being closed down for redevelopment driving mad it's really sad at the moment um chris you should go to sleep you're right i agree let's go to sleep i will i hope i haven't missed any chris i just want to tell you thank you for doing what you do with love from manchester thank you nazim thank you very much um and thank you to all of you guys who've been watching three hours i think it's one of my longest ever live shows this was only supposed to be like an hour and a half but it's been a lot of fun i've somehow discovered there's energy within me to do a live show for longer than uh for longer than 90 minutes i will end the show by playing um a cover of too much volcano and finishing the cider because it's been poured you know can't not drink it but for now guys uh keep an eye out there will be a new braun japan video coming out next week um sorry for the way again the whole studio being set up things taken time um i hope no matter where you are out there in the big wide world you've had a nice wednesday and you're gonna have a lovely thursday uh and you know just remember you only live once so learn to like cider because it's great um it's my over analyzing too much volcano uh yeah i think this is my one of my favorites i'll put this on um thank you guys thank you and good night um i'll see you again soon hopefully in a few maybe next week i don't know i want to turn this i want to do this more regularly i'm going to stop talking yeah very exciting day [Music] [Music] so much [Music] oh [Music] it's about to get loud [Music] is [Music] come on [Music] uh [Music] check it [Music] so much [Music]
