Cryptids - Flatwoods Monster

UFO sightings are almost as old as time the earliest possible sighting was in 214 BC when Titus Livius a Roman historian said there was an appearance of ships that had shown forth from the sky even early in the 20th century when in 1909 there were strange moving lights in some solid bodies in the sky that were seen over in New Zealand but what about the strange being that could inhabit these unidentified flying objects many talent shows to advertise their extraterrestrial happenings like Roswell New Mexico that's what the small West Virginia has done they call themselves the home of the Green Monster the creature otherwise known as the flatwoods monster the flatwoods monster is detailed as an extraterrestrial reported to be seen in the town of flatwoods West Virginia it had been rumored to be anywhere from seven to twelve feet tall with a black body in a dark glowing face eyewitnesses further characterized the creatures head as elongated and shaped like a sideways diamond with non-human eyes the creatures body was labeled and humanely shaped and clad in the dark pleated exoskeleton like a shadow it's observed as it having a reptile like head with scaly skin a lot of accounts cannot remember if the creature had any arms or not some do and it has long stringy arms that protrude from the front of the body with Longclaw like fingers on September 12 1952 right over the small town of flatwoods where a bright light was seen overhead around 7:15 p.m. two brothers Edward and Fred Mae and their friend Tommy hire when if the luminous an object glide across the sky and descend on local farming land belonging to G Bailey Fisher the three boys then went to the home of maze to find their mother Kathleen they told her they saw a sort of UFO crash in the hills around the farm belonging to Fisher from here mrs. Mae escorted the three boys only three other neighborhood children including 17-year old West Virginia National Guardsman Eugene gene lemon to the Fisher farm in order to locate whatever it was that the boy had seen lemons dog company of the group ms have caught the scent of something because it ran so far head it was soon out of sight suddenly the bunch began to hear barking a moment later the dog rejoined them with his tail between his legs the group then travelled about a quarter of a mile before they reached the top of a hill where they started to notice a large pulsating ball of fire about fifty feet to their right they also observed a thick mist they made their eyes and nose burn lemon then spotted two small lights over to the left of the object underneath a nearby oak tree he turned the flashlight towards the lights which revealed the creature which was disclosed to let out a shrill hissing noise as it began to approach them before a changed direction to the pulsating red light the group in a fighting State reversed their steps and ran back to Mays home the sheriff of flatwoods in his deputy searched the area later that night reported to find no trace of the encounter other than the distinct smell early the next morning reported from the local newspaper visited the site of the encounter and discovered two dragged-out tracks in the mud as well as remnants of a thick black liquid reported them as being a probable sign of a saucer landing he based that on the premise that the area had not been driven on by a motor vehicle for at least a year it was later revealed that the tracks most likely belonged to a 1942 Chevrolet pickup truck that local max Lockard who drove to the site to look for whatever landed on the property hours before the news reporters discovery following the event on September 12 other reports of the sightings were brought to light a mother and 21 year old daughter told investigators they came upon a creature with the same appearance in odor a week prior to Mays encounter the brush with the creature was said to disturb the daughter so much that she spent three weeks in the Clarksburg hospital the mother of Eugene lemon also disclosed that around the time of the crash her house had been violently shaken in a radio ad cutout for 45 minutes the director of the local Board of Education also alleged to have seen a flying saucer take off at 6:30 a.m. on September 13th which is the morning after the creature was sighted the group who claimed to see the creature on September 12th or said this chair like symptoms which lasted for some time they associated the sickness to having been exposed to the mist the Beast gave off the symptoms included irritation of the nose and swelling of the throat lemon also experienced vomiting along with convulsions during the night he had further difficulties with his throat for several weeks a doctor had treated several of the witnesses described their symptoms as being similar to the victims of mustard gas the symptoms are also commonly found in sufferers of hysteria which can be brought on by exposure to a traumatic or shocking event 48 years after the events in flatwoods paranormal investigators begin to create conclusions to what the eyewitnesses actually saw the bright light in the sky reported by the witnesses could possibly be debunked as a meteor the meteor explanation is very probable for meteor sighting was observed across three states Maryland Pennsylvania and West Virginia the pulsating red light they witnessed could have likely been an aircraft navigation or a hazard beacon as many as three flashing red aircraft beacons were also visible from the area of the meteor sighting which could clarify the pulsating red light the creature described by them also closely resembles an owl put a similar to how the Mothman in other cases were dismissed by sceptics yet the conclusion that it could be a barn owl does make sense the shape movement and sounds that the witnesses described are consistent with historical barn owl perched on a tree limb might react researchers also concluded that the foliage beneath the owl could have created the illusion of the lower portions of the creature often described looking like a pleated green skirt based on the fact that the onlookers cannot remember exactly whether or not the creature had arms or not Kathleen made description of it having small claw-like hands which extended in front of it hope the researchers match the description of that of a barn owl with its talons gripping on a tree branch people have credit the hysteria to why the group could not identify the creature as an owl the flatwoods monster remains an important part of a history of the town because a museum dedicated this supernatural being there used to be a three-day festival where town's folk would enjoy live music and trips to the original sighting of the Green Monster the festival seized ever 2006 the monster also served as boss and character inspirations for multiple video games and as a subject for songs he even appears as an image in an anime what could be lurking in the woods could it be the fabled Bigfoot maybe the
