[Music] until Cal can find a flicker the Beaver Valley looks like this feels like this [Music] it's a place where the biggest nights of any year are the Friday nights of high school football team a place where you either won a scholarship than wore a college football helmet or war a hardhat and worked the midnight shift Joe Walton of Beaver Falls won himself that prize 47 mile trip down the road to the University of Pittsburgh he was a tough to a end in an era when everybody played both offense and defense four years later mike ditka of Aliquippa followed walton to Pitt and then into the NFL as the number one pick of the Chicago Bears in a freezing 12-year career he saved his most awesome display for the hometown Pittsburgh Steelers shedding five tacklers on this memorable run twenty years later when it came Dicky's times to coach in the NFL he was still his fiery self man Mike's blast furnace burned hotter than ever when he began overhauling the Bears in 1982 Walton meanwhile outwardly more controlled but everybody's intense on the New York Jets sideline he learned as a youngster growing up the son of a coach indeed Tiger Walton a former NFL player with the boston red skins is the picture of son Joe on the eve of his 50th birthday Mike Ditka's father was a steelworker but the common heritage he shares with Walden is that both our sons of western Pennsylvania both have shaped football teams to reflect fan upbringing first-place team toured and cast in the image of their coaches boards in the heat of the Beaver Valley [Music] [Applause] live at Giants Stadium the home of the Jets in East Rutherford New Jersey 35 degrees the temperature would have been a lot worse that's the AFC East picture a must-win for the Jets who are tied for first place with Miami and New England those two play Monday night [Music] the NFC central is owned by Chicago they have the home-field advantage throughout the playoffs good afternoon and I'm Pat Summerall a lot of people say that the Bears don't have to win this game it doesn't mean that much to them with me of course is John Madden and let me put that question to you how much does it mean I think it means an awful lot to the Chicago Bears because I think the Bears are the best team in the NFL that's been Stephen football I think they're going to go all the way and win the Super Bowl now if that's true then they just beat the Jets because they're a better team you don't need reasons to win if you do you're not going to go all the way I really believe that there are the best and I think if they win I think they go all the way through this thing I think if they don't if they need reasons to win then I don't think that they beat the Jets today I also don't think they go to and win the Super Bowl weather conditions this afternoon temperature 35 degrees 38 percent humidity winds up to 23 miles an hour and it's supposed to stay just about likeness yesterday and rain all day and was a vicious-looking day today outside of the wind and if you could stand 35 degrees it's not bad at all the chest gently he tees it up to kick it off and get it started Willie golf is deep along with Dennis jittery both of them with great speed sellout crowd at Giants Stadium the biggest game for the Jets in a long long time I think the wind is a factor right off the bat they couldn't keep the ball in the tea in the
