Challenger and Firebird Race for Charity at Barber Motorsports park!

[Music] [Music] merry christmas and welcome back to another fun episode of ice cream garage today is going to be spectacular we're here at barber motorsports park birmingham alabama got jessica and the kids and special guest emily reeves from flying sparks garage hi y'all clearly you can see we've got freedom hawk and vanishing paint here can you fill the people in on what we're doing i would absolutely love to derek was so gracious to invite me i said yes so fast this is an event that benefits addie's racers and they are kids with special needs that want cool experiences in cars and their parents we get to drive these kids around the track we get three passes with with each kid and we are so excited the weather was crazy thunderstormy this morning and the clouds have rolled away and the sun is out and we are so thankful hopefully it stays this way i hope it's all and it is just going to be such a special day of giving back and sharing our passion thank you for letting me drive the freedom absolutely it's going to be awesome it is very wet and sketchy a little sketchy and i'm a pansy like i'm not gonna push it and wreck so we're just gonna take it easy there's already been a couple of accidents today so we're not gonna go crazy there's everything from nascars to open wheel to a mclaren the vipers bunch of c8s these porsches it's gonna be a lot of fun amazing so let's jump in [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] just getting signed in here registered got to get some wristbands and don't worry about the rain this is a rain or shine event and i pulled up the digital pocket computer and it looks like it's going to clear up from eight to one or two so track should be dry here in hour hour and a half i think we're going to be just fine cars are unloaded and they've asked us to be part of the initial lap here the first lap there's going to be 10 cars so we're going to pull up here looks like we got a mclaren a dodge viper a mustang of course the plymouth up there back to the futures and a c-10 so we're going to get lying back here we're going to take an initial lap around this place this place is absolutely gorgeous really nice facility so a guy i'm also giving you a tour of the freedom hawk in all of its glory it is glorious there's a couple quirks i did on hoopty some of the hooptisms on the car mostly the digitals used to have to like plug stuff into the fuse block and spark wires together i figured not a very good first impression with children so right i fixed that that doesn't bring a lot of comfort to the parents yeah so what we did was we put nitto nto5's on for you so brand new set should be fairly decent dish for today of course rain always makes things a little sketchy anyway got a different seat for you so that one should fit you fine we put some padding in even dang half a noodle half a noodle didn't quite get the right size but that's that's okay you got a 700 r4 in here that kind of ish sort of works even put your name on the rig i this is my favorite part so far this is a big deal i feel really awesome about this that's the only way i can get her signature is i put it up there so she would sign it but under the hood is the special part yes we got a blueprint engines 350 crate motor headers all that stuff we got a holly brawler in there digital fans it's got a cooler on the power steering and the transmission don't worry about that that's it should stay put there's really nothing else how's that holly going to trick me around them corners you know if you hit the apron hard it might gurgle on a guy so or a gal i should say and i even cut this open so now you have dual functional ram oh yeah it's so much fresh oxygen should work pretty good fuel cell in the back i severely over filled that so it smells like gasoline in there okay and i could only hot wire the driver's window down passenger didn't work well we got that so so it's a little airflow so basically it's a perfect car it is it's ideal just ignore like the bodies coming off oh and stuff like that so did we expect any less guys we didn't good luck dude it's awesome [Music] we've got some awesome staff here they're working hard to get the track a little bit dried up we're gonna do a lap or two just see what we got going on find where the standing water is out here so we're prepared before we get some kiddos in here forgot the rain axe shoot both cars the wipers you know they they don't work freedom hawk windows don't roll down i overfilled the fuel cell so it smells like gasoline real bad so that's that's fine once we get done with this we're gonna come back figure out the windows maybe try to hot wire some wipers i don't know so we'll have fun even if it rains later on in the day i got some guests i want to introduce you fired up fire him let's do it man she's been airing out a little bit here hopefully it's only nauseous level 10 though all right here we go ladies and gentlemen start your engines [Music] [Music] cars running great it's not getting hot but the brakes are really really working of course we got drums on the rear still got the dinner plate brakes on the front i'm going to let them cool down because i'm really smelling brakes and i don't want to get brake fade with kiddos that you're leaking oil oh my that'll do it shoot i did not know this is back here and i got punctured and i mean guy had to rust treat on this anyway you know so that is all done the downside is it was my good oils it was to go into town a while i forgot it was in here slid over and hit that sharp little thing and that punctured it and uh yeah i'm glad we caught it we caught it right when i pulled back in and it must have happened on the last curve over here it's a long right hand curve so it sends all the stuff left but i'm glad we caught it before i went out on the track don't want to leave stuff down on the track we're going to let it cool down jump back in line and then take some nice easy passes with some other kids and then pretty soon i guess the kiddos are going to go out they got a bounce house a little ride up here they got a chick-fil-a truck coming in all sorts of stuff this is a really really nice event got santa claus and tim tebow so from garage [Applause] here's a check for a thousand dollars from those guys [Applause] so how this works is we're gonna jump in line which is right over here and there's a line of kids just waiting to get a ride and they some of them pick and choose cars some of them want to ride in the same car every day some are out to ride in every single car they're all really fired up and excited it's it's actually really adorable so we're going to pull up in there and they throw a helmet on the kids strap them in make sure everything's safe and then we exit out on the track and we get three laps with these kids and now we could come back and do it again or take a break freedom hawk is getting a little warm during practice like 2 10 220 nothing bad i think a little more speed and some clean air that should be fine vanishing paint dialed no problem whatsoever the car is doing great cool so this must be like an old d yeah how old is it 1907 wow it smelled like history thumbs up again you ready whoa what's that entire looks like yep cool how you even hog it doesn't work anymore it's too old you ready [Music] do you want to go fast or slow i tell you what we'll go fast but i want to keep you safe okay [Music] so [Music] is [Music] the volunteers here get a little bit more track time so they're going to open the track back up for like another hour so i'm going to take my kids for a ride maybe talk jessica into it i don't know not sure you want to go super speed or just speed ready here we go [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] emily just pulling in how's it going awesome pretty fun isn't it it's just so fun it's ridiculous and i'm driving like a granny and it's still fun oh i told him i'm like i drive like a granny he said i think the sound makes up for it good old open headers you know how was your ride what was your favorite part straight away the straight away okay other than the straightaway did you like the twisties yeah i liked it back there because i would always get butterflies oh down the hill and around the corner yeah so this is a five gallon juice holder but you can see the foam in here so it's pretty much empty nothing in there and that keeps the sloshing under control emily's got such a heavy foot she went through two gallons and i don't know six laps or something yeah no i think it was let's see i took three kids so that's three six nine that's nine laps that ain't so bad now we know right we just had a little ceremony upstairs on the second floor about us and riley back here uh number 20. young man 22 years old i believe they said and he is like highly highly decorated has won multiple championships in different cars and in the same car multiple times back to back to back i think he races out of canada racing with autism.com all of a sudden it's uh raining again we were literally just getting ready to go on the track she was gonna take bradley i think i was going to take bentley or something but i think that's going to be it for today i think everyone's kind of packing up aren't they yeah i think it's time to learn the cars because this is a lot of rain i think that's going to do it guys we're not going to get a dry track to be able to really push it but it doesn't matter this is still such a tremendous opportunity and so much fun driving out here it's incredible [Music] what do you where's the valet guy well we're calling our quits on racing and we have to go to the barber vintage museum because it's like literally behind the track actually we raced right behind this building didn't we so we're gonna go check this out supposedly it's the largest motorcycle museum in the world collection of bikes so let's go check it out i'm already seeing bikes three high and like a bookcase for motor scoots i don't know oh my goodness where do you start 1912 indian 1959 honda this is the museum we're in right now pretty incredible confirmed barber vintage mortar sports museum 1398 exhibits wow [Music] i am completely mind bottled sellers i don't even i don't know what to do it goes way over there with cars the yamaha special [Music] and they are all just exceptional here's the track [Music] there's seriously too many motorcycles to even pinpoint one same with vehicles but you guys just bleep bloop the ones down there in the comments that stick out to you you know this is kind of the harley-davidson amf section got some yamaha v-maxes for the fastest street bikes for a little while there and like i was saying all of these are just like it must be either original or absolute perfect restorations it's hard to explain the quality of these i guess i could start looking at some odometers but just my brain hurts five cylinder 862 cc kawasaki [Music] v12 jeez these are blended aluminum and steel and i'm assuming one of a kind futuristic things this is the exact make model color of the bike i grew up on i think i put i must put uh geez 15 000 miles on that easy and a half years bsas [Music] husqvarna that's cool let's see a lot of those [Music] ice racing look at the handlebar so a guy can really you know lean this thing over got a hill climber that thing looks snazzed up goodness gracious wow there's too much if you put this museum on your list which i highly recommend you need to do this in two days there's too many significant motorcycles the guy just gotta walk by because it's too much there's too much to look at you know just a small block chevy drag bike no big deal and i think that one's did he say that one's turbot over there [Music] looks like we found the 60s and 70s for motorcycles were just they just had this different styling like a bold artistic look everything started getting just like the cars there's a lot of bikes in here from movies and tv shows look at the lotus [Music] yeah it just keeps going here's a ford four cam in the turbo engine 1968 started developing stuff like this [Music] oh yeah good scream this is like that remember that video game all you could do is turn left or right that reminds me of that car that one was built in 84. this one's a 69 [Music] [Music] [Music] 1919 wow [Music] this little fella is unique [Music] power bike oh this must have been a kit the feller or from that now you just hook this on and snake some bolts through it or something yeah sure enough brakes and strap and you got uh one and one forward slash two horsepower right there i like that color 43 indian 40 harley davidson right there this is like a 42 or 43. [Music] these guys could tell a story it would just be absolutely incredible what a epic day today was it's hard to even explain how cool today was it started off like oh it's raining i hope we have fun we're still in it for the kids and then it just cleared up and it ended up being just a really fun day overall incredible met so many amazing kids and their parents are even more amazing and the stories we heard today are like i was crying made your eyes like onions are slicing up and it was a lot of fun and then of course all of our friends are here and then we got the museum and the museum was incredible just wild so again happy holidays to you guys merry christmas we're so thankful that we were able to donate a little bit to them and for our friends aware that we're also able to donate and thanks to you guys for making it happen for being subscribed and watching letting us have fun and do things like this so again merry christmas see you soon [Music] you
