howdy ho again everyone today we're embarking on a survival to 200 days in factorio on a death World Island I'd never beaten Factoria before this and I spent um 36 hours recording this session in my room but by the end of that time I had reached apotheosis this video is a follow-up to the first 100 days if you want to check that one out the link will be in the description but for now so I embarked on 200 days day 101 Main base was set up and productive but by this point in time we were beginning to run low on iron with less than 2 million remaining so I I began to cap out my expansion beyond the island on the northeast part of the Mainland placing flame turrets situated behind an entire wall of laser turrets which were behind an entire wall of walls nothing would get through that probably hopefully but for now let's just ignore it and move on I placed radar so that I could see what was going on in the north since spiders were already assaulting the walls on our defenses I replaced some broken infrastructure had my logistic Bots do some repairs couldn't keep making trips anywhere for a base this big after all so I'd have to automate some repairs next the day came to a close day 102 I made my way back to the main base train tracks Consolidated power augmented and after a little more fiddling around by day 104 I started on setting up iron deliveries by train automated by day 106 with a little more back and forth i' finally started in full effect on train stops titled Christian Hill Brands and eclipsed wraith shout out to Christian Hill BRS and Eclipse wraith whoever you are you are inside my game day 107 I boarded the train and began making trips to prepare the mining Outpost laying out boxes belts and making sure everything was being pooped out properly all this work occupied me until around day 110 when I finished off the miners belts and loading stations at which point I spotted some of my logistic Bots floating toward me tired in the distance to suck out my electrical power for some extra battery Buzz they had crossed the entire ocean just for a drink of some electrical juice but now it seemed my Logie Bots had begun making cross-continental repairs without me even noticing honestly kind of a cool moment when your when your Bots just start taking over and like oddly sentimental but this story isn't about love this story is about war day 111 I returned to the main base to a similar site to watch my Lodie Bots hard at work placing stone bricks but then they weren't hard at work anymore because the power supply was flickering it was at this time that I realized after 20 hours of playing factorio nonstop I'd made a huge mistake I had thought that um five steam engines worked with each boiler that's wrong don't do that only two will work with each so I had to undo all of that but I did make up for it with better Blueprints and by day 113 i' had extended the setup and improved the power flow Bing power improved days 114 to 116 it was all about replacing facing the Train's chest with steel to hold more iron ore day 117 I couldn't figure out why my steam engines still weren't working so I just spammed in water pipes until they started chugging again success then was on to belting the iron deliveries smoothly into the smelting column at our main base that didn't work so I just gave up and worked on other stuff instead days 118 to 121 it's back to fiddling around managing production ratios extending the smelting columns and generally a lot of head scratching never mind just keep going anyway days 122 to 126 we continued our way North my production lines now are scaling to automate the production of faster red belts but my resources were beginning to grow stretched thin nonetheless we pressed on and by day 128 I had embarked upon a new experiment fluid management from all of my oil refineries I'd never done this before and I had no planner organization at all nor any idea of the scope of the product so I just kept extending everything in one production line on the left side surprisingly this worked pretty well at least it did get me all the way to endgame and and it was enough to build blue belts faster than yellow and red the ultimate belts and by this point I figured I must have been nearing the end of the different types of resources I'd require if I'd made it to blue belt which was important because we're running out of space before the ocean begins just any further from here and we'll be underwater from Days 129 to 133 it was all about prepping for low density structures fixing my belt from before to make paths for new resources but not really it was just sort of a disaster but we'll just keep going anyway from Days 134 to 137 it was back to the production chain to complete the prerequisites for yellow science the last craftable science and honestly my ultimate corporeal Destiny as an engineer everything was stretched thin and really disorganized though so from here to day 140 it was just all about slightly adjusting the belts to improve flows and outputs which actually as it turns out works pretty well and for the record I I do kind of pride myself the first time through playing a game without overly relying on guides it does make the old factories all the more interesting to revisit years later and honestly question your old thinking habits days 141 to 143 is back to the iron Outpost to extend the logistics Network all culminating in the magical moment when our logi Bots were finally using their repair kits to reinforce our broken down defenses autonomously through the power of self-guided Robotics honestly pretty cool moment for a game where you spends so much time alone it finally feels like you have thousands of allies who just suddenly join you on your side the next ER turned the main part of the factor you continue my projects but then I realized my fluid ratios were all wrong so to solve the problem I didn't solve the problem I just avoided it and I kept building a whole bunch of Tanks to store all the runoff oil I never solved the problem it just kept ballooning ominously in front of my eyes fluid it's too complicated today's 145 5 to 146 more fiddling around and then a little ominous blip on the radar where a small Nest was killing all my Logistics Bots near the sea in the north east a biter Nest now would be the offensive I attacked the nest gunning everyone down taking biter women and children from their homes but now the perimeter was Secure days 147 to 152 it's back over to the base for more procrastination adjustments and fine-tuning now we can upgrade our belt and let me confide in you replacing slow yellow belt with faster red belts for above all a dense cluster of iron plates is immensely satisfying these 153 to 155 there was enough green on the screen uh electric chips needed expanding so that meant plastic bars also needed expanding all culminating and a lot of head scratching and honestly figuring out how to balance belts with Splitters uh just through a lot of trial and error but then after that is 156 to 158 we're somewhat more of a cough gas nightmare there's always a point in Factoria playthroughs where learning takes place I couldn't honestly figure out what I was doing wrong which is normal for this type of thing I suppose uh and this is where we arrive at the limits of belt technology in the importance of honestly memorizing a few ratios and supplying resources for electric chips on site I was doing neither of these things so I just uh puzzled around until my Puzzler was sore and eventually through trial and error I produced more green chips now that you've learned from my mistakes you can do better these 159 162 was another expansion the steam engines and the logistics Network to follow we would need more coal for all this so by day 165 I made my way south to build another coal mining facility now was time to check the southern Outpost I hadn't in a while after all so I extended the logistics Network down there to on day 167 for further automation of our defenses and now that the logistics Network existed it would be important to supply it with Goods so I came back home to build enough repair kits on hand to fix the walls all over from the frequent fighter attacks day 171 I built another Stone mining outpost on the island 172 I blew up all the cliffs with dynamite and then I rested just for a moment to observe the pollution all the heat just radiating out onto thousands of angry biter nests just beyond my territory I was safe for now but expansion would probably be problematic best not to think about it yet we still had some copper and hence breathing room for now there was still some time to get things running right everything was pretty jacked up so I embarked on longer term projects Days 1 73 to 177 I looked at my horribly inefficient cargo train or delivery system it was it wasn't good it was pretty jacked up and the stream of iron was admittedly tepid and low efficiency counterintuitively uh Splitters alone don't really work here and huge shout out to Neil here I I honestly couldn't figure out what to do so I I just used one of this man's brilliant designs I'm a big fan if you want to get a full four lanes of iron ore you have to use a bunch of turning belts followed by an unusual usual array of both Splitters and underground belts arranged into this configuration if you're really stare at it for a while it's Flatout genius uh but it's kind of counterintuitive I will leave the link in the description to the video if you want to try it out since I basically just copied his design in the end though all worthwhile for the high press streams of iron that came flowing through the base four in full packing our smelting columns to the max with dense mountains of iron ore to optimize the Factor's efficiency day one 1 78 satisfied with the new iron plates being pooped out and improving everything's flows I scanned over my Radars savoring the security and automated defense systems and all the planning and Engineering all just humming along now that brought my designs to Life by day 180 the factory was growing flush with all the new iron plates flowing in that we were producing filling all our belts with the resulting resources but now there wasn't enough copper I noticed so on day 181 I started an electric copper smelter simple enough this time all this new crap led to a belt completely filled with green electric chips on the main bus finally this would be essential for supplying late game resources which we're coming into now day 183 it's back to the iron Outpost to fix the delivery belts there too keeping everything on an even hum all culminating the product of this effort on day 186 the spider Tron a giant menacing bug-like robot Walker Abomination picking people off zapping shooting and Blasting bugs away you'd think it would be cool but it it's not really good at least at first but I overestimating its powers I charged in at the enemies at the North and then fled uh from their spit so I am I just kept parked at my base for now sadly lame I couldn't expand yet but honestly uh whatever my defenses were now operational but if I wanted to expand a new territory I'd probably need to rely on something that packed a greater punch at longer range greater Firepower it all turned to artillery so I set out with that as my goal day 192 I started expanding my production northward I need bombs so I dragged sulfur and coal to the edge of the North Shore and started filling the ocean with landfill for more Factory I need to build the missiles in the north to automatically fill my artillery train cars and park the trains in the South to deliver the payload there at the biter nests over the copper veins then and only then could we expand to another Outpost day 195 it was time to get started on a new set of train tracks around the island so I laid the rails by the shore cut down the forest and the Cliffs at the very end PL an artillery car onto the tracks everything was just about ready next we just need to handle the missiles and the automatic Supply handle the train schedules and the barrage is near the biter nests in range days 196 to 197 it was on to building the assemblers for the artillery shells themselves never actually done this before so honestly didn't know if it would work but finally on day 198 with my first two missiles fresh off the belt I carried them over for a test run on experiment just north of the iron Outpost shoot The Living Daylights out of the biter Nest to the north despite all this little did I know this event would trigger the single largest swarm of biters I'd yet seen on my Northern wall in biblical proportions they washed on the walls burned alive by our flamethrowers fered by my first successful offensive on their homes confirmation this would work eventually all that effort for this destructive capability and what L next would probably be a Slaughter but that's enough for now we're unfortunately at the time where I have to leave this one on a cliffhanger since we're at the 200 day Mark more to come as always I'm ambiguous amphibian a big thanks to my patrons who hunger for bug flesh in the morning until next time
