I Turned 1-Star Toys into Military Nightmares

I got scammed by Toys R Us when I was 10 the commercial I watched was a lie this is what it actually looks like onear toy but I'm an engineer now so I don't have to settle for onear trash I actually have the skills now to make them EP so I'm going to spend the next week turning onestar toys into five-star heat seeking military nightmares the Only Rule is I have to try my best and if I don't my wife will throw away the brand new five star toy that I want to turn into a 10 star military nightmare last year I started the greatest two-day science forever called open sace and everyone that came first onear product is called Baby aot you're probably already familiar with this toy it's the infamous pooping doll kind of hard to ignore a toy that was literally engineered to Shard itself and there's a lot of one-star reviews ranging from your kid does not need this just get a regular baby doll to it loged the doll up she only got to try it twice and then there's my personal favorite daughter fed the baby and didn't immediately take the diaper off mold grew all inside the doll which smelled horrible and made her feel sick it comes with everything you need to simulate changing a baby's dirty diaper the diaper goes on food powder water you shake it up and then you feed your [Music] baby we take the diaper off [Laughter] this toy is already a nightmare but the first step into turning this baby into a military nightmare is to connect it to a can of propane okay she looks fine oh also a taser I forgot the taser the second and most important step is to detect when a person walks in front of the baby which we can do super easily with this infrared non-c contct thermometer the ground is 67 but my leg it measures 83 you want the laser gun here you get the laser gun what do you think open the thermometer look for an output signal give up remove the temperature sensor install opamp calculate gain noninverting input inverting input engineering God it's done and it might be the biggest nightmare of anything I've ever made in my entire life just because of how it looks taser flamethrower baby what it's not even that's not a name does it need a name look at that looks excellent flame vomit look look this is sick it's a this is a nightmare it has a cyborg temperature sensing eye sensors don't just work every part of your body is a different temperature but generally you are warmer than everything around you so if we measure the average temperature over time and compare it to the instantaneous temperature right now we get a pretty good indication that something warm moved in front of the sensor I had to wrap everything in aluminum foil because the taser was emping the Arduino and locking it up it's got an Arduino it's got a relay it's got wo leveret 1 2 three four holes in its skull that's a new record gang when someone steps in front of the doll it shoots Flames at them but there's one problem the flame seems to be activating the heat sensor I should have seen that one coming when I put my hand in front of the sensor oh wa that worked really well hey there little buddy what's oh my God come here give me why isn't it lighting I hate this feels like there's lots of gas left this is terrifying it's unreliable where's the laser there's the you see the laser oh there it goes okay the lips are like burning weird colors it's like some green you see the green what is that is that the copper but does my wife think it's a military nightmare what does that look like to you Terminator get closer Don't Be Afraid what is it doing get closer killing this box is very important pay attention to the Box the next toy is a remote control tank specifically the M1 A2 abam I don't know what that means but Chad from Amazon hates it whose onear review says this tank is not suitable for tactical Warfare I used it while at a BB gun Arena and the impact of the shots could not be noticed and since it is small people stepped on it and broke I don't know what Chad's talking about this tank seems very high quality it has metal tank track so it can drive over anything here kitty kitty here kitty kitty it shoots BB it even makes smoke like a real tank this thing's sick does it hurt I feel like this might actually hurt no I mean no no it doesn't hurt but I could make it hurt Chad from Amazon I could make it so nobody ever steps on your tank again Chad here's what I'm thinking we take our tank remove the turret and replace it with something that can cause real damage oh let's go I'm going to attach the knife using this little 3D printed expander I made you screw it onto the nut that's captured inside but the hole for the screw gets narrower towards the top as you spin it the gaps start opening up and it bites into the outer edge I don't know if you can see that shove that in there tighten tighten tighten piston knife test one oh can you press this button for me please yes whenever you're ready press it please oh let's go it worked perfectly yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes oh I lost a knife again now we just need to connect the Piston knife to the tank using the only method we know CAD 3D printing spend 30 minutes removing seven screws remove move the old crappy turret cracker open 3D printing screw screw screw screw glue glue glue glue screw screw screw screw is how I ended up with you screw screw every time I got to be honest with you guys I really hate wiring up Electronics this took me like 4 hours is it going to work is it going to please God work please God work it is yes oh my god it works one thermal sensor let us detect if a person was there two should let us chase a person the tank is happy if both thermometers see something hot otherwise it moves towards the hottest thermometer finally we stop moving when both thermometers are equal it's 700 a.m. it's a nice fresh brand new day to keep doing what I've been doing the past 12 hours I did not go to bed last night oh my God it heat seeks I am so tired drive to your dad little tank there's no way for it to know that it's about to drive off come to Popa come to pop oh Psy oh it still works this is a room temperature bottle of Mountain Dew if I put it in front of the tank nothing happens this is a bottle of body temperature liquid 106° I had to a microwave [Music] Jes oh no not me not me not me wow that was so exciting that was so awesome out of 10 I'm trying to be happy with that the tank was way harder to build 7 out of 10 it's not the worst but it's what we like to call a box box box box box box box box the next onear toy is this a teenager it's truly an amazing product but it's not a military nightmare but it's not a military nightmare but it's not a military nightmare but it's not a military nightmare oops I already reprogrammed it m that's good water the first step to making a military nightmare is making it automatic so I added a 64 pixel thermal camera to the turret I'm literally running a computer vision algorithm on an Arduino here is the 64 pixel image the camera sees first any pixel below a certain temperature gets set to zero then we find the center of the hot pixels using a weighted average called an image moment now just tell the motors to move in a way that drives that coordinate to the center of the image it tracks if I walk back and forth and then after a few seconds oh god oh blasted thanks to this thermal camera I've learned that my nuts are the hot part of my body it refuses to point anywhere else I have to angle it down so that the turret points at my face nuts up nut down nut up nut down how do I turn this turret into a military nightmare I've already done a knife I've already done a flamethrower would I put an actual gun on it Mark Rober GunBot we can't we can't this is not going to support a gun I but then I realized some of the most nightmarish military experiments are psychological warfare so I 3D printed a bad mean swear word and attached it to the robot you can't escape it you can't escape it'll follow you it'll follow you are you pointing at the lights I think Mark Rover is going to like this hey Mark I know you're watching this leave a comment down what's in the bo all the parts needed to build a racing drone I'm so excited for this you guys we're going to jail drones are great for aerial video and photo companies are researching how to deliver stuff with them and some people even race them for sport I want to make my drone smash into stuff at 200 mph I'm talking total obliteration you have to buy a new drone every single time but hitting something with a drone is going to be really hard have you ever seen the laser designators they use to guide missiles to the Target we point the laser at an object the Drone sees it and attacks laser designator is military technology you can't just buy that on Amazon but you can build one using stuff laying around the house like TV remotes I built a missile guidance system out of TV remote yes Mr President I figured out how to save America about $10 billion a year this is a TV V receiver it's the thing that detects your remote control the first step is to combine four of them into a drone eyeball the second step is to build the infrared Beacon that the Drone is going to seek out it generates the specific pulses required for the Drone eyeball to work instead of using an actual laser we're just making the point of the laser with an LED this works way too well you see it gets kind of stuck in the middle there's like a major warping that's happening and then we tried farther so it's a little more sporadic but it's definitely working stop stop he's all the way at the gate now I'm just rotating the sensor yeah this is this is nuts like probably 120 degree range this is the Drone it's got the new sensor with eight pixels total and a wider Backle so it can see straight out the side the transmitter talks to the receiver which talks to the Arduino which talks to the flight controller when the Arduino sees this button triggered it starts modifying the channel Data before sending it to the flight controller I then begin testing and tuning the Drone this is test number one I have it's just a drone I got James here on the call so he can call 911 when my head gets cut [Music] off oh oh God God okay I hate something is not right here eventually I got it to hover instead of smashing into the ceiling hey let's fast forward a couple days and see how William's doing oh is that a drone sh but after several more days of programming it totally works the Drone follows the sensor and it's not perfect I think that has to do with how big the dead band is in the middle that's future me's problem let's see if we can destroy something I don't want to work on this anymore it's not going to hit potato right after two weeks of hard work my drone finally decided to kill itself you ready Kevin yeah I'm ready [Music] yeah dude you're like a snake charmer all I'm doing is holding down the auto track button it's doing all this on its own all we have left to do is obliterate a Target at 200 mph I love that there's trash everywhere we taped the IR tracking Beacon to a Target then I put it in tracking mode and gave it some forward Throttle auto mode engaged [Music] whoa dude first try it didn't do a great job what's the damage what's Nice Nice Slice in the uh ornament oh we got the ornament bang on didn't even hit the LEDs no knock the battery out though it's not like good dude it's a drone that like tracks the light that's pretty cool I don't really want
