welcome to corporals corner today we're in the field and are making stuffed onion bacon bombs so stick around with an outstanding show coming up okay disclaimer today is gonna be different it's gonna be a nice day but a high of 60 I thought why not get out in the field and do some cooking about 18 months ago we were in our kitchen and we did a video titled stuffed onion bacon bombs and dude let me tell you they were amazing because they were so good I thought let's revisit that video but instead of doing it in the kitchen why not do it out here in the field well before I get started I want to show you the cookware that I'm using today the 64 ounce Bush pot from self-reliance Outfitters is made from 304 stainless steel measures five and a quarter inches in height the diameter of five and three-quarters it holds sixty-four ounces has the Bale and pour spout carrying handles and a lid with a d-ring the next item from Self Alliance Outfitters is a small packable grill is also made from 304 stainless steel weighs 5 ounces it measures four point eight by four point eight inches now the bush pot in the grill are outstanding by themselves but check this out if you combine the two you have a lightweight portable oven that you can take anywhere alright let's go and kick this off because I'm getting hungry now if you want to make this on a large scale then suggest you click on the icon atop the screen it will take you to that video follow the directions and you should be good to go otherwise let's go ahead and kick this off with a yellow onion so we're gonna do is peel this bad boy so the onion now becomes the shell of our bacon bomb inside we're going to our meat on the exterior we have our bacon so we want to hollow this bad boy out so think of our packable grill it's roughly about five by five four point eight by four point eight so this is a perfect size so all I do is hollow this inside out here so to do that I'm going to make a small slice right here and then push the insides out now since we're in the field I'll show you a simple way to do this the easy way first choice every time go to the supermarket and find it pre-made hamburger patty one that's made to your liking I found these jalapeno and pepper jack cheese hmm sounded good all my do is add some barbecue sauce roll it into a ball and place it inside that onion shell so from this point right here all we're gonna do I'm going to wrap this thing in bacon I'm gonna get a stick make a skewer overlap that onion like that puff that skewer through there toss that bad boy in the oven and here's the most important rule if at any time we are wrapping that onion you can still see an onion you're wrong do not pass go do not collect $200 little spot right there taking our homemade skewer pop that through their comas cut it down at a later time looking good to go let's go ahead and talk about cook time at home with a kitchen an oven and a timer you're looking at 350 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes out here I don't have that luxury however there's one chipper trick I'm going to show you that I picked up from Dave Canterbury that's outstanding now once it's all said and done if you leave the pour spout facing upwards I'm go ahead and close it up there's a small opening right there it's perfect for a thermometer we have room the sides the top and the bottom that hot air so circulate inside they're fully cooking this baking ball all right like I said at home we're looking at 350 to 400 degrees for about 40 minutes out here I have my meat thermometer and the thing maxes out around 400 degrees so just to be safe I'll check it every 15 minutes and make sure we're still good to go [Music] now let's go ahead and talk about option B you can't find that perfect patty that's pre-made so what you're gonna do is find a plain patty bring it out to the field add some barbecue sauce a little bit of garlic powder maybe a few red onions season it to your liking and do the exact same thing [Applause] no way getting around this smells great though some onions trying to escape right there I don't think so and just like last time wrap this puppy and bacon add my skewer good to go that looks good as f and it smells outstanding - it's been about 25-30 minutes I checked it it looks like that I'll give another 10 to 15 minutes and we should be good to go my grab my meat thermometer place it inside there and once I pop through that onion shell into the center of that meat core if it's around 160 or above good to go [Music] [Music] Oh looking good man is good MSP L is it good - well I'm gonna sit here and be nasty so catch you guys in a few minutes oh my god to the jalapeno pepper jack cheese bacon welcome back these stuffs onion bacon bombs were outstanding and just remember you can trick this recipe out to your liking now here's some advice it came out to about 40 minutes at 400 degrees my thermometer maxed out at 400 degrees so it might have been a little bit hotter but my advice is check that bad boy every 10 to 15 minutes and he should be good to go now all the cookware in this video can be found on my self-reliance Outfitters influencer page I'll toss that link inside the description box please do me that favor hit that like and subscribe button then read that notification bell once you ring that Bell please select all notifications and as always thank you for your comments abuse and support thanks for watching get out in the field have some fun I'm gonna catch you next time [Music] [Music]
