[Applause] welcome everyone to Minneapolis to Minnesota the land of lakes here in central Minnesota and a brand new home in 2017 to the x-games welcome inside the US Bank Stadium this is BMX street final here Jimmy Coleman here in the booth alongside Scotty Cramer we got Brian Kachinsky out there in the field and some athlete interviews and well after three years in the Lone Star State we find a new home here in Minnesota and you've got this amazing course here inside the US Bank Stadium and well here in BMX street it's all about the technical varieties getting this course looks a lot different than the previous courses now talking to the riders during the week I figured out that they could describe as quick and when they mean quick there's obstacles that are pretty close to the next one so you're going to see the shipwreck in the middle which is an awesome feature now the guys when they do tricks over that they're going to immediately approach the quarter pipe so they got to be ready to go but there's a lot of unique things here so I'm really curious to see what the guys come up with for those of you that aren't too familiar with the at this aspect of the sport we think Street these are the kind of elements that you would find out in your urban setting the kind of things you can just go out ride around any city and go out and hit these structures rails and step-down gaps and whatnot and it's all combined here inside the stadium on this amazing course so in the history of BMX street here at the X Games there's been nine at previous contested events and eight of those have been won by one man we're talking about Garrett Reynolds and the shot of him right there he's been extremely done in this event scouting Garrett Reynolds hands down the best text game street rider there is and Gary Reynolds is actually from Nike bark I watched him grow up and become the bike rider that he is very original style and he puts own unique twist on his form of riding it's absolutely amazing to watch what he did with it there's only one other guy in the field that's ever beat him and it's that gentleman right there Chad Kerley he got the street win in 2013 if the final event of the season in Los Angeles and it's been those two guys in nine prior two separate events well it's no surprise there Chad Kerley is the definition of a technical street rider Chad Kerley has balance that nobody else really has in this kind of game right here those are the only two past winners however there's ten other riders in the field that are going to have something to say about it here today this is how it works in BMX street there's 12 athletes they each get two runs those runs are 45 seconds in length that doesn't matter if you have a fall if you step off the bike you get a full 45 seconds to try to impress the judges of those two runs it is the top scorer that wins and hopefully get you walking out of here with an X Games gold medal and the highest possible run score you can get is 100 now we say overall impressions what exactly is that mean what are some of the things the judges are going to be looking for here Scotty so judges to this event they want to see cleanliness of street riding they want to see people drop in get their moves done perfectly and now there's going to be a big big kind of variety of the tricks that we're going to see here today but each one of these guys have a potential to get the podium alright so time ro we'll start us off followed by Nathan William Stanley brutal Hoffman you got Colin very yet simona brock barroco dakota roche Devon smiley Chad Kerley we talked about earlier Brock referred to returning bronze medalist from last year Sean retaining your silver medalist from last year and Garrett Reynolds last year your defending gold medalist added another one it to his list in the history of BMX Street here at the x-games but here in this event there's a lot of technical stuff that's going on yet you're going to see some big burly moves but there's a lot of subtle things that are going to go on here you're going to see the technicality it's being able to combine that text a beam as you mentioned earlier Scotty with a smaller course the hits are going to come rather quickly it's how you can link those things up on these different features that the course has to offer on this small of course that means there's going to be more options to do tricks while these guys sends all send all Pharrell there's going to be a lesser is going to be a quarter pipe there and you guys are going to be able to link these things by doing a manual or fakie or even a nois manual so it's going to bounce and it's going to be a lot of technical action going on all right so Brock Rainford one of the guys in the lineup we talked about him being your returning bronze metals there's a lot more to this guy than just being a professional BMX rider let's take a look at what makes him tick in this X Games profile hi I'm Brock Rayford and I'm riding in X Games BMX Street something that's really cool to me about art is that it's another creative outlet outside of BMX and it's another way to express myself and it's just super fun to just come home and relax and just kind of let my mind run free being an artist as much as a BMX rider really kind of goes hand-in-hand because with riding you can ride dirt jumps or you can write Street or you can ride pretty much anything you want and it's the same with artwork you can work with clay you can spray paint you can work with watercolors and there's so many different options that they almost feed off of one another I've kind of really been into the traditional flash like painting the style of traditional tattoos and kind of just really bold outlines and bright colors and that's kind of where I'm at right now although BMX is what I focus all my time and energy on now later on down the road I have plans to continue on with my artwork and hopefully make that my career path and again turn that into something where I can still be creative in myself and also make a living well you know talking about his artwork there that's a good segue into the street event because basically this is a form of art for these guys and basically this course is your blank canvas and you're trying to paint the best 45 seconds that you can to try to impress the judges as we take a look at our first competitor this is ty Mauro from West Palm Beach Florida this is his seventh X Games appearance he's no stranger to the street podium he has a silver medal from X Games LA in 2009 so tomorrow he is a special Colorado because he doe really big but also he's extremely technical as well so let's see what he does and you got that silver medal and as X Games rookie appearance by the way so again it's a 45 second run time starts as soon as they hit the course and it is overall impression the best possible drug score you can get is 100 last so far so good I just came in with the table over that there's office 360 meaning he's spinning this opposite direction of his natural so here comes coming to the shipwreck huge 360s I've known for going huge like that went 360 to flat he didn't hit any transition or a part of a wedge ramp on that can you go to flat talk about the impact that is on your ankles and your wrists the impacts are up not many people could handle it but a guy like time he still feels oh there we go 180 Packard stroke - 180 out and he's uh he look at another over crank on grind very technical trick Matt you trying to slide on just the crank arm and the pedal right there so really difficult and going back to that rail trick I mean pop it onto the rail and you're coming off over the opposite direction right there that is just part of the tech savvy it's the subtle things like that and they happen fast you have to pay attention here in BMX Street very good first reference I'm really impressed with that let's see what the replays are massive 360 C is going to clear the front of that ship right there and as he lands you could see that impact it there's no shocks when he's like at all yeah look at I was body compresses right there he lands the flat but rides out of that like it's like it's easy for him and the crooked ground right there you could see that he put his bike in the center of the rail he put one side of pegs on and the other side of pegs on very difficult to do so how we get these scores there are five judges as I mentioned before working off that 100 point scale the highs and the lows are taken out and the remaining through your average together so tomorrow start the party with a seventy seven point three three again two runs it's the best of your to run that count time aural sets the bar Nathan Williams from Nashville Tennessee or at games appearances this is appearance number five for him Nathan Williams is a special kind of rider they've got things that are you pretty much impossible I've liked some house so I'm really curious to see how he approaches this course today alleys get it linking up lines with different combo booms beautiful obstacles down with their gap stole peg rind sale bear on the quarter pipe truck driver off the bank truck drivers and you spin the handle bar in the middle of a 3/16 that case kind of a 270 coming over that hip Oh double Tyler nacho 180 down the rail imagine trying to put your tires on top of that rail and that's really impressive that the rail itself is not much wider than the tire so that's an S&S and that is balanced right there to be able to do that well Nathan just went down on an over Smith to 180 on the rail Smith means that you're gonna have front peg on the rail and back tire on it but he just got hung up but that was that was really impressive the highlight for me the highlight for me was definitely the double tire ID and here's the adaptive grind I think he's not lined up with at all so sending his tags out for that rail with that gap is really impressive pretty good oh here we go right here speed coming into that - look at that his tire is riding down that rail the whole way and then he wanting these to bite off the end and again going back to the compression issue going to flatter right that you can see you can see the tires flex get together body just lurches down right there so a little bit of time left on the clock there with a slip-up but again with the format you get two runs it's the better of your two that counts it's not being one of the first couple of guys out of the gate at any contest as well you're kind of setting the bar for things right there so he'll slide it with a fifty four point six six right behind five more oh and that overhead view right there gives you an idea what these riders are contending with here the BMX Street final then lazy in his fourth x-games appearance he is a hard charger this guy will fly through this course and attack these obstacles he had a little difficulty with that first trick it looked like he was going to do an up rail to hard 360 I was guessing but sometimes you know you don't have the right pop off of it and that happen so there you go with a toothpick hangover grind across the channel beautiful safety turn down you lost via the fakie racer though if you do get to use the full 45 seconds we mentioned that at the top the show so if they're in the fall or any step ups you may add you can keep going you do get the full 45 seconds helps to the shipwreck and that's a pretty secure over there and Dan is known for that as well he hops to describe them in are a couple words I say raw power on his bike yeah he's known for being burly and he's also known for rapid-fire trick execution probably bring some speed to this area okay he'll be back in time to expire there for that light and you can see by his look on the face not the rum and he wanted that that slip up right as you gain that that offset your flow for sure well here you go here's a 360 he little really high over the end a shipwreck really impressive and there you can see the hard landing as well but Dana that's it's kind of riding right there why our spin to fakie there fakie universal term going into something backwards and you could tell what Dan was doing thank you he was actually pedaling backwards he doesn't have a free coaster like a lot of these guys do free Costa means that when they land backwards they won't have to pedal backwards and it is enabled him to jump into far 180s going really fast and not have to worry about pedaling backwards up a lot of line to these guys as well that's going to bring up brutal Hoffman that from Frankfurt Germany he has a BMX street filler metal from Barcelona X Games in 2013 and well watch out for this guy he is all about the tech grind combos and he can do some long grind rail moves as well there we go dole takes it over so take 180 out that just goes to show how technical this guy is over to pick 180 on the rail and one thing to watch that for him is look at his pace look at how fast he link something he makes the most out of this run you got to you honestly do there you go 180 backward submission on morning another 180 awkward career driving 180 as well you see how he just kind of pumps a little bit from spot spot right there just kind of moving that front tire just a bit too kind of pumping self through the different features on the course yeah a lot of these guys if they don't have to pedal they try not you here's a manual for Senator Smith that is a rail just hanging up an unreal elec I believe he about nine seconds left on the clock when he washed out coming off of that rail but that was shaping up to be an excellent run there for Bruno it's really good I've been following Bruno for a really long time in the stuff that he produces in all his videos is amazing a lot of link lines so and so with that manual so I'm assuming that sucker almost see more about that he's got some amazing web edits if he ever sitting on the Internet you got some time to kill Google that guy's named Bruno Hoffman so here we go the dole peg he just didn't get the rotation and the lean enough and if you don't have those two together you're not going to be able to stand upright on the two timers like that that's why you filled up this rod for a second he was going to be able to save that one and keep that one underneath them there but again with this format you get two runs it's the better of you to the count even with that fall seventy one point six six so that puts the German rider in second places of right now behind tomorrow that's going to give him some confidence going into the second run knowing that he got that good of a score with that mess up at the end so he's got to feel good about that that's exactly what I was thinking that even with about nine seconds left on the clock that he still was able to put up that score so we can clean it up and run to see big things out of him Colin Variax from Hamilton New Jersey out of your neck of the woods yes yeah DIA is I'm known Colin for a really long time actually when he was about six or five years old and somewhere around there I met him racing and he actually got into BMX freestyle look at him now in the X Games actually a rookie been here before as an alternate but never had a chance to compete so we unleash him on the street course here for his first and few attempts colin is a very good bike rider you've got such great control from the racing cap over the gap right there amazing to see the style the way that he's hopped up over that gap right there in the channel if you will there you go off the texts over and looks like he's going to add something up right here I'll pledge oh he's trying to 180 backwards right on that rail right there it's really difficult juggling two objects that were lined up and making on out of it that's difficult we came the wave as it goes over with that run still at 15 seconds like again because it's a couple of times you do get to use all of that 45 seconds whether you choose a few or not and there's the buzzer so he's going to leave that one off but he would love to a good start here sadi yeah well here's a great replay this is the half cab and you can see he's coming backwards and jumping over this extremely difficult just made it to on the end right there I just invite control skills pure and simple right there we'll just imagine you're doing a 180 onto a ramp and hoping that your momentum is going to carry you and jump across that that's got to be terrifying on its li-ion pretty impressive stuff from compact acts like I said he's been here in years past as an alternate so this is essentially his rookie performance the first time he's actually been out here to compete so he'll slide into fourth as of right now and look at that course just looks amazing I mean it hats off to the California ramp works career for the job that they did on both the street and the park courses here inside US Bank Stadium lots of features to choose from here these riders as we get set to bring in an Italian writer here Simona borracho this guy was inspired given to freestyle by Matt Hoffman video game Pro BMX 2 as a teenager this is his x-games appearance Sirona is amazing by Greiner he's extremely intelligent he's a great artist as well so what I've seen in his videos absolutely amazing he's done things that no other bike riders have done and you can see right there how he clipped the peg on the way up nollie to over crank arm very original stuff a great Street rider and also a pretty darn good flatland rider as well so flatland skills will definitely parlay onto the street course for sure as you see right there notice the bar Oh buddy balalaika leaped out with a snaggletooth on the rail quite a bit of crooked and targets this angle two stages oh I will tie right oh there you go this goes to show the it's not guaranteed when you're coming out to that that you're going to make it all the way across and that so you're going up that a frame rail so at the apex of that I want you trying to 180 out of that or if you're going to try to go and do it to pick there we go crank arms over and they did a little crank arm opposite 180 on the end there and then he come to it said nobody else's they're over the ship rathole who does that I thought I thought he was in trouble for a second there but I know your stats claiming it that's getting unique right there at the end of the run that'll definitely help out on the creativity side of things here we go is nose barspin got to make sure it's knees are other way to get those bars around there we go yeah it's like a looks like a snaggletooth here's the foot plant creepiest side take that right foot off if you kind of dabs it but enough to get the fast plant off of it so the high mark to be right now is tomorrow with that seventy seven point three three as we await the score here for the Italian rider as of right now you need a well there we go you get to the sixty eight point six six so that puts the Monet in the third place position as of right now so it's time our Oh Colonel Hoffman and Simona borracho sitting in the top three positions hear that that is just half of the run over here in round the number one remember it's two rounds and it's a packed house here inside the US Bank Stadium so this is how we stand Mauro Hoffman and borracho as of right now sitting it in the top three position they'll have half the field left to go here in round number one and there is a BMX powerhouse right there Dakota Roche the Huntington Beach California he is an X Games Austin 2014 silver medalist 10th X Games appearance and we talked about some of those big boosting tricks and landing too flat well this guy's the one little let's write a 360 count from these steps the flat now water load it off did you see that against that monster sign right there Dakota is one of my favorite alive nollie - hangover grind huge transfer over the quarter pipe bad square over the gap and look for backing going right now but the pace that he's got going indicating he washed down that wait this was a night or the kitten has to go there's a lot of speed that he was bringing around the course that was unlike anybody else so far that gap transfer with lastly unique Oh complete power out of this guy look he's get a little technical as well he can go both sides he can go fast he can go strong but he can also break it down and he can give you some pretty impressive lines as well huge egos end with the black a little bit of time right here oh boy why would that authorship over your mother's research you pulled that one how about the power that he came out with though for the top half of that run honestly one of the strongest riders in BMX right here there's the nollie he took off on the front wheel to hang over toothpick grind perfectly executed and look at it look at this guy's arm this guy is such a strong guy he can bunnyhop so high and that's what Street riding does to you most of the guys that ride Street they are definitely some of the strongest riders in BMX and here's the washout you can see his lean this wasn't right all his weight was on his inside and on the front and that's a student didn't translate to keep it going so close looking at he's looking at his own replays that's there up on the video wall here inside the inn's implanted US Bank Stadium what is it going to be that would have been second with a neck 73.3 dude you hear right there he's like second all right you've got so good about that knowing that he had a mess up right there if he can get it together I mean I was with that score we'll get him all right I'll take it so the same but a cleans that up a little bit look out so now it's Mauro Roshan hop in your top three Devon smiley came in to the X Games 2016 4 places rookie got a chance to shine after being stuck on accident alternate list three different times that Devon's interesting riding rider his difficulty level is huge as you can see he this is a 540 cab out of that double-double picked 180 officer Duke 70 fly out I'm really curious to see if he goes into the manual runs that he usually that he's usually known for so let's see what he's got so Manuel as you can see right here starting right into it he's got in his back wheel balance he's got good front wheel balance and he can go forwards and backwards well GG is the same line that conveyed he did the half cab over the jump all right so we're seeing that channel gaps they're going to come into play with a couple of different riders here as we're approaching the 10-second mark again to who or counts the runs were 45 seconds in link crank whip stole peg down that he spun his crank completely around and then caught it now it looked like an opposite 180 bar spin to basic you a picky button double peg Ollie tried to do the pole 360 out but he just didn't have the juice right there that's a really good run now leading up to that yes again we talked about this in the top the shippers so many different subtle things that go on when it come this is such a technical aspect of the sport so here's the crank flip toll peg as you can see and his Craig hits the rail that has to scare the heck out of him right there you can see his facial what is really a noise down you got a steely-eyed on that one but I didn't look I get scared in that much but as I can barely sit you'll see somebody just do some of the same things and everybody's got their own style out of you and we have a new leader with an 80 lat hello Devon smiley to the top of the leaderboard here so now it's smiley maro Andros your top three what a jump right there he's got to feel good about that one and we still have four riders to go here and this is the first round there's still a second run yet to come shad curly we talked about him at the top of the show one of two riders who have ever taken gold and the nine prior times this event has been contested at the X Games young man is a powerhouse and he is all about the balance and has been at the right balance is key for this guy right here he's already starting out with some good moves go for the manual he couldn't grab it but let's see what continues with crooked grind to 180 down the rail another one that kept these very flatland esque style skills is written there that knows Manuel one of the best nose wheelies in BMX that was pretty cool for sting gap across the channel you try that right with barely dab that's what keep it going though again use all of that time when the judge is looking at overall pressure already doing that already yeah buh-buh-buh-buh yeah that's not going to be church to church by that 400 safety on the ship read the warnings you're spinning the bars and you're landing too flat on that what I finished therefore Chad Kerley yeah that was a that was a cool run start right there a couple things didn't go as way joy I would just like to get the good scores I'm going to say from what we've seen unfold so far I mean it would it use all of that time and they finish strong here we go I believe this is the pegs to where it's a feeble that's coming around everything looks right still have a lot of hang time there do you jump in you can see the compression you see that back tire Nikhil Ruiz right there any land well a lot of these guys run lower air pressure then you'll see if the dirt riders and the park Rodgers especially because they they realize that they're going to land land kind of hard so if you won 18 out of that and that front tire did it like just caught a little bit but he keeps the feet on the pedal row with arms there yeah brokers see where this is a broker's fee worth is going to show up right here because we had minimal mess-up so there we go eighty 1.33 that will slide him in a second just behind Devon smiley so we've got a little bit of a brawl going on here in this opening round out of two so it's definitely chant early and tie bar o sitting in the top three spots but there's Brock Rayford you're returning bronze medalist from last year in X Games awesome our hearts that we saw in our X Games profile piece about two years this street course as his blank canvas for 45 second how Bart's been to isochron going down the rail to great star so far Wow double peg up to hard 362 nose Guardsmen mean it's got some fantastic flow right now to help across the gap opposite toothpicks are over looks like you're gonna I something up right here once you got the lens to double peg round all he has to put a foot down had a weird lien on that one but to come up that ledge and try to gap out and [Music] it's amazing this part of that tech-savvy we keep talking about yes but he's one of the strongest leg rogers i have ever seen oh that was opposite effect over time pick on the rail head huge you're not gonna see many of those out there I head up there with like and there's a strong finish for your returning bronze medalist from last year um named amazing that was really really good I have to see here we go this should be the peg to 360 look at the power this guy had I think he has the record for the highest bunnyhop in BMX this one unbelievable he watched the peg toothpick and then he has to pull the peel over and implant it back down on the peg okay otherwise that's a really aggressive and you're doing that coming down a scare set as well oh my goodness this is going to be an interesting one right here I threw it shell within eighty four point three three so he slides in the second but now it's Devon smiley Rob Tapert and Jed Curley your top three and we still have our top two guys from last year's event still to go so joking right now I'm looking at this and I speed you have to start strong you have to end growing that is 100% it they want to see these guys bring the fence that they can possibly bring so another guy from the air neck of the woods Shana or a canny showing grew up riding my skateboard I've been giving this kid a lessons when he was six years old at my skate park he's about to give all the fans a lesson here in BMX street radness 445 second first few tricks have been unreal there's a toothpick over oh no he's enforcement but he couldn't grab the handlebars but those first two tricks was so technical coming into this hopefully he keeps on going as I continued on right here keeps momentum going again right still got 20 seconds with no change left on the clock there oh there was a crazy calm over forcefully Smithson knows Horseman he'll have to see that one again in slow voters he appreciate what just happened there to understand which is I think Milly yeah oh gee that's a four maybe five and one combo move there amazing people two opposite 360 out coming up to the room pretty gone to 180 Wow na he had a slip-up in the beginning but that was a big comeback and that one combo move will have to get a replay that the fully appreciate it and here we tell here it is you throws the force then my back wheel can went down and this is the one a perfect myth to nose manual for specific stuff Paul come on think about that what if he landed that without that mess afraid then there's a risk this one has been absolutely flawless see how a scrub the speed with the back end they're doing into that rail yeah you got to adjust it right Kirk it to 180 honestly textbook stuff right here so Shawn gets it together and that's the thing on that course replay that we saw when you see that slow mode then you get it then you see that a real time speed you're like okay that was rapid what happened now you know insane I did not expect to see that when I was just thinking maybe a parson Smith that would have been fair respectable as is that score is very respectable as well 79 flat even with that hiccup at the beginning that is good enough for fourth as of right now so it doesn't shake up our top three but it puts in the quarters of right now with another round to go one rider left to go in this rotation talking about Garrett Reynolds he is won this thing eight out of nine times has been contested he has been extremely down in the field in last year's performance he won by 11 full points that was the difference between gold and silver last year in X Games often that's how good this guy is when it comes to BMX 3 he wrote the book when it comes to this contest from here and I guarantee another New Jersey person he's for my skatepark look at our train getting good luck today really on e this is amazing I'm actually pretty blown away by this but so far so good there's a nollie truck driver up the gap opposite a lip nice turn down there but you get speed for something nollie q2 Padron and Eric's just known for so many insane technical combos but he's also that the big brother stuff like that going to flat over the shipwreck big tail Bober to shift back first time you saw that yeah look at that so the truck driver off the hip right there yeah watch those handlebars II love and send those things around the climber too in the middle of the tech combos as well slaps it around but not many people in the world do that when that's why sure off the toothpick to over and there you go Garrett Reynolds drug picking up where he left off from blacks here and now it was after the buzzer but just another example of the tech skill that that man has BMX Street when it comes to BMX 3 honestly he's the name that comes up every single time this guy's over what he does yes all these tricks master in their service insane suit but they have almost smiling if the approaches a trail right Dylan Carson device the crime look at that and this is you're saying his bar spins on honestly he actually changed the way BMX does bars because the way she's able to incorporate them into and out of crime landing on the compression arimathea web to be in control the alec body this goes down there you go he slaps the handlebar on the second one I don't know how he does it's like putting your hand in the blender right there look at where he catches that thing and looking with a front tires point I look forward to sign in to that point so in eighty nine point three three four here defending gold medalist and guess what he's in the top spot again yeah I feel like I'm like not very surprised and Buzz that helped Karis fantastic he really is he look New Jersey gorilla John California now yeah he showed my skateboard from the gecko and he was always somebody and stood out a different kind of rider we've completed around one out of two it's your defending gold medalist from last year sitting in the top spot we've got a rough you when we come back to Minneapolis [Music] we got there any third position with the same double ball they're coming down on the tube their granddaddy unbelievable suffering so far a lot of control these guys are bringing their aging it's Devon smiley clearly sitting in a silver metal position but you're defending gold medalist Aaron Reynolds is in the top spot at the end of round one so those are your top three but with one more round left to go it is best run the council get Reynolds smiley and reapered your top three the Chad Kerley don't count him out he faced the gold in this event before he's just outside the top three looking at right now with an 81 to 0.33 well riders gave it the feel here is the best run the counters we didn't set to do the second and final run to feed to take the gold here before we get into it let's check in with the third member of our team I am kajinski hey guys I'm down on course here as you can see we're here in a beautiful Street course but what you might not notice if you're new to BMX is that these bikes have no shock no nothing they're really rigid so the thing is these guys have to take all the shock by their shoes in there by their shoes their wrists all that stuff you know it really come come' combines into a package basically you want to absorb the shock with your body and you really got to get out there and kind of make it make things happen to make things look smooth so that's a difficult part but these guys make it look easy and that's why they're here at X Games thank you very much there Brian that was a great explanation of the impact I mean as you saw on that replay right there Dakota Rocha it's going to flat like that you'll see these guys all just kind of lurch down like that I mean that's just that's that's just muscle that's pure strength and bite control and you right out of that just keep on going see I've ride Park in X Games you know it's a lot of transition now me being a street rider also on the side I doing this kind of stuff over and over again these guys are seriously built differently honestly thank you this foot touches here in competition this is really doing day in and day out you know when they're on the road or whatever they're home to street riding like it's another day in the office for these guys different salads there's cameras rolling and there's Katie from fooling people otherwise they do this all the time it's amazing if we go round the town tomorrow currently sitting at the same place wow this guy's plating he already those two first tricks was pretty amazing to go far they just went fakie down that stair step and then went over dude they're coming out the side so entire Morrow is bringing the heat and runs number two they hold out over the rail cheers alleged million Brussels making again is the term that we describe going into coming out of a trick backwards you'll hear that a lot here on the street course have to step off on the outgrown know what the problem or from that on-off 360 they're saying the opposite direction of what do you do over we've done stupid hangover grind down the rail into a tail affair a little bit of time left here see what he ends it look like it's going to the shipwreck after that booster with a pea to flat anything that burst run-scorer is going to be the better to do you know I think it's going to be a close one he has to jump off the rail I'm not sure what went wrong or what he was going to try but look at this move right here a double peg and it hops over up the other side and does a check kind on the way down that's amazing that's control oh here it is over the rail jumping through the legs finding those pegs you match that only time are Oh Donald like that not only you travelling some distance on that when you're moving at a good clip of speed your tremors we got rockin now to try to lock onto the peg but we'll have to see what happens though actually it's the seventy seven point three three with his first run floor so you're thinking this one can barely fly the first one stores it be the one that they noted dot there we go and upgraded seventy nine point six oversee Mario he's got to feel good about that one I'm actually the personal upgrade in the store and an upgrade in place you just buy one spot that'll bump them from six into fifth right there because you know a lot of this people don't understand you guys are all friends today when they're riding but you have to beat yourself before you anybody else in the chain right here so I think you've got to feel good about that all right Nathan Williams currently sitting in a tenth place position here in it very smooth rider did it linking multiple moves up into these unique lines one on course and he's coming off a win on the video part for real be a medic Wow yeah just a quick splinter down the way and aggressively sideways but it does hang on they've got a real BMX gold with his videographer Peter Adams the congratulations to that real BMX gold medal there we go nollie two pegs for 180 out right there hardware may be very difficult say oh well we got it going on right now this is really impressive so far and a rough feel that first time around a fifty four point six six oh this is just under 10 seconds football game okay how bad of that choice honestly it's amazing tires to 180 per how do you have every tire ride that a rail like that it's basically the same width as your tire and then plus the 180 Adam so impressive right there Nathan's kind of feel amazing after that run he hung up so much here it is the crazy gap titute it you can see he gets aggressively in there the flight goes sideways and I think that oh look at that impact on there he's able to hold on that was seen look at threading the needle on the tire on oh my goodness can you imagine that it's driving to center line of the highway raised there what look at the mechanics of that for me is like you're coming down there really the minute you start to try to muscle that thing around it feels like your tires are going to slide off of that thing you know I think it's hard for people to imagine how but a bike for these guys extension of their body there really is so these guys know exactly where the bike is you know the between their tires and them it's pretty amazing it really is all right so let's see what this does with his placing again tense plays freerunner 54.68 because you see in there the athlete staging area Kota Roche booming in the background there what is it going to be you're going to need an eighty four three three or better if you're going to crack into the top three it takes at eighty nine three three better to take the lead as of right now again your top three its Reynold smiley and Rayford we talked about this earlier in vm exert what is it like to wait for that score Oh at eighty four six six Nathan Williams has in bronze metal position how about that Jim seven full spots Wow can you imagine him sitting down there waiting for his score to realize that heat in third place right now I'm just gonna ask you what that's like but obviously it was worth the wait because hello you're on the podium at Roane right now a anxiety that he was feeling sitting there because he knew he had a great run he did some amazing things there and you want to see how you are rewarded self he's got a few fantastic about that one well he's going to have to nervously eye that leaderboard and see what happens with the rest of the competition as we welcome back in at the UK Stanley key but then having trouble with that up grill again he's trying to go for it aggressive pop out of there and I dance no sir that stuff that he's done over the years he's actually opened up people who I see seeing how how big of a gap you can actually do down is there so we can again look at that shotty 360 that's just textbook tan laces but now again he had that slip up at the top of the run but he's gotten back up he gotten at it he's got a pretty high speed basis of right now still a lot of time left on the clock Wow Wow at 363 into that barsen fakie let's see if danke keep this going if you can get in another banker he can get a really good score right here so line up the rail 180 the peg off you know what he didn't get on there properly he didn't have his body adjusted on the rail first momentum the calories you know what though coming away with those two big 360 so that's got to be very rewarding for Dan so say after what had happened early on Wow look at the size of that 360 on that gap right there straight to the quarter prior four turnings not Stanley see right there that's what he's known for he's known for power he's known for doing the biggest 360s out of anybody BMX looking at Reno Hoffman who will see next we await the store Dan late dance sitting in club so enzyme with a forty two point three three that will Hoover loved one swapping and you got to give them credit after that flip open right out of the gate and you come back come back swinging and important when you have that slip-up in the beginning you know your whole mindset changes well for him to overcome that brings an excuse three sixteen that's great you got a wife at from your mind and get out there and get after it really quickly we're going to often currently sitting in a nice place position as of right now very technical takes to over pegs to 180 out just like you started the other run they be on the lookout for the very heck near elbow right over to big 182 full cab into the this is a great run starter for Bruno he's got a really good score to keep this going 180 backwards Smith 182 crooked check out the round is great so far we mentioned he's got his BMX Street silver from 2013 of X Games Barcelona is actually the first international rider to medal in BMX street when he took that silver back at 2013 manual line like you could go for all you switch it up with the Warren the loading dock area okay this is great Brenda's gonna feel good so far but getting it done here and there is the buzzer so that will do it for brenell Hoffman fee that was a good run that was a really good run right there for Bruno you've got to feel great go you don't risk of going we all set standards for ourselves when we do these runs right here so when you finish your run that's what gives you the most rewarding feeling right there it's like a conquering of a challenge here's the manual line while he dismissed the manual look at much real estate he's covering on this manual me that's the balance to keep that front tire off the course at that point he was working for it and you definitely would so let's see what this score and I'm really curious to see what the judges see him happen he was a nice free run with a 71 point six six which again you need an eighty four point six six or better if you're going to crack into the top three so he'll jump up to six they'll move up three spots that will give him an 80 flat but hey gotta give him props for what he put together right there always got to give Bruno home food crops he's amazing BMX rider Collin berry niak Hamilton New Jersey currently any twelfth place spot as on right now so could be able to tell it my magic mile tell it he's a great kid he really is such a happy positive person and look at that uplifts 24 over that rail well you can shake off the memories of the first round if you had a slip-up because it is the best run that counts this is really impressive so far now a bar there's the half cab over with the board for the last helping it up with the difficulty here he's changing up the line a little bit no peg over the double paper Boston this run is a cigarette now hopefully college keep this going you've got such great momentum and CBDs eyeing up there's a tail hook over the gap right there grab it a little speed going into that corner feature 362 Smith climbing coming up to the rail 182 Crucible anything you have time for amazing possibly one more it looks like the time is going to end right here but if you still going to send something in take it to that wedge and go over the shipwreck there but yet yes props in that first run so this is going to be an improvement for sure that forty point six ticks from round one this will move them up the question is how much is it going to move them up yes good technical tricks in that run you really did honestly if you go over the trick that he did he stepped it up from the first run as well and that has have moreover the gap is amazing look at this nollie barzmann and he's going to go straight into the half cap bar over that which is really really impressive here's the 180 to backwards crooked grind on the rail you see he is splitting his bike left egg and ripe egg on there and then to 180 back out very very impressed that's very impressive because when you come out of that UCI you have to get that front tire away from the edge of that rail all right here we go okay wait you play the rate in an eighty three point six six will get a bit of podium contention quick trip out of twelve oh and all the way up into fifth so a nice job done there in Holland there yeah the world that's that we've got good first vertex case on that representing New Jersey making the New Jersey piece of crowd out here with that run right hey I'm proud of it oh there you go alright the money Barako up next out of italy term consists in 11th place begin to crack into that top three right now and they did eighty four point six six or better this is the second and final round here in the BMX street final twelve riders in the line up to red beach the best run the count look at that I think off the rail there he goes to the nollie like over crank on very original writing fiction all day he goes for a Wally 270 or 360 over that gap this every trip they've done so far nobody is competition has tried there's a snaggletooth over the realm meaning that you've stayed on the same side of the bike but puts his front leg over and cross on the rail double spiral current car on a street dress Sarah Jane brass the one that he had to hang up on in the first run if I'm not mistaken it was this amazing so far we're seeing some very original Roddick person on a this is what he's known all right he's got to hang on for 10 more seconds here crank arms over okay complicated here yeah coming to the Shiprock and the hips you keep coming here there's that back when again over the shipwreck so cool wow what a great run since Monet I can't even tell you enough how impressive the only way it's so is it really done this guy is somebody early is that's a full run for him remember he had that slip-up there was on this that didn't been in the first run yeah double sides to crank arm across that now look at this horseman to Smith to 180 out right there that's so original not many people ought to be Mex I quit everything about doing now how cool is out the best might be that means a black forty foot tap that name testing the rigid rigid erm against the rich virginity look at that that was the run that he wanted the first go-around he gets it done here round number two now the question becomes will that be enough how are the judges going to reward if you Ned is going to be enough at eighty five point six six so we have a new name in the top three the Italian is sitting in a bronze metal spots now so it's riddled smiley and now brocco your top three Wow phone is going to feel great after hour and its own its own terms to you don't even own tricks going into it there is your current leader is Garrett Reynolds won eight out of nine of these things in years past he still has a second run coming up as well as our current silver medal position riders Devon smiley but bucks ammonia borracho putting a third as of right now we have six riders left to go here in this second and final run so we've gone halfway through the field of those six four of them are on the outside looking in the Cotto Roche was off to a good start he's got some good powerful lines out there he had one little slip-up one little wash out if you can clean this up here in the second run we could see him shake up those top three standings as well he's bringing them everybody here so look at that War I on the monsters on there look at that air in the corner this guy had so much our good pop good amplitude there on that knowledge region hangover this is a great start so far there's a gap in the fastplant over the gap as well again he's at that quickened pace compared to what we see out of some of the other guys there we go the 360 is pulled this time he's got to feel good about it so far even Vicki hi man that that one didn't look at their all but all eyes or two took 180 to fakie to full cap into transition so you see wiping that left hand on the thigh there drew the son of mrs. okay got a little bit of time it's on now he knows he's going for power right here 360 over the realm five seconds left another 360 to flat there over toothpick next time right there here's ago let the chess match begin here in fret number do we've seen some guys about some hang-ups in round one put it together here in the second round look at this warrant on the pulse of sine you can tell you in the Apple the black so you built that to ride let me just tell you that one that is there to hold signage ladies and gentlemen he's using it as a bonus obstacle man 360 over that that's the one that gave him problems in the first run another gap two three six you can see he goes off the sign of the shipwreck over the rail he traveled a good 15 feet over there very impressive all right what is it going to be on the arch Simona taco say he jumped up into the number three position with an eighty five point six six feet need that are better to get into the top three the top mark to beat is it's eighty nine point three three so here we go it's the anxiety where your game is you stare at the screen and wait for your score to pop up here we go the coda hits asserts that he's a great Rider and you came through with that runs on so curious to see what the judges are going to reward right now when it takes this lot the song to the score to come and you know been talking it over ah it's a nail-biter moment I mean you know what I would do now they're here to me I've been there before duty said I don't have any more faces today all right are you second down can't even imagine what's going through his mind right now however the hardest part is over with he's got the run down that's what he wanted to do he got out there he got the work done and it is a packed house here big boy and he gets in eighty five point three three won't get him in a boat in contention but that will put him in fourth place so close so close what a great run though you've got to feel great about that like I said BMX you're going against yourself before you're going against the other riders so to be able to get the run that you were working for and to be able to stop that one Alex that's that's the moment that you're looking for that's the feeling that gets you through these events well Devon smiley currently sitting in a silver medal position if he stays there he will be the ninth different silver medalist in the ten Street events that have been contested here at the X Games what a great start up rail to horn 182 545 out almost a 270 coming on up this is when things are going to get really interesting look at that huge big cube our spins very difficult move so op rail to the manual to the crooked to 180 Devon is known for a lot of bounds he can do backwards manuals forward manuals really really impressive when it comes to linking tricks together there's some of those balance skills if he goes over that channel gap there up on the top side of the deck we're a little messed up right there that was a small little bit of tricking grabbing them just kind of got up and the sign is there there's a crank flick to Zola picks against couple of seconds left to be the last one for him as the buzzer sounds Thompson when it be barspin up to make you jealous I didn't beat that he added up speed to do something like that but again showing you that too that for those bike control skill I'm finally over metal right now Taylor is where the frame doesn't 360 with the body and the handlebars don't move this is difficult right here you're on the front end of the bike now you have to get away from the rail and then throw the bar stick it's very very impressive so here's the trick that's going to be linked with the manual pegs up to manual to occur via grind at C 180 out awesome that wasn't workers unique line right there there was a lot going on here the end so again he just comes to a dead stop a jump ball at around you look at his feet on the bike right there trying to test to get back those pedals he had one small mess up on a on a very interesting area so let's see what has to come up once inside Wow you're going to stick with that first run score of an 87 that will give it eighty point three three but he's still any silver metal spot as of right now but as I mentioned before and that holds up he'll be the ninth different silver medalist we've had in ten contested BMX street events at the X Chad Kerley currently sitting in eighth place the only other rider who have ever taken a gold medal in this event besides Garrett Reynolds what can he do with this next 45 seconds so far so good 182 oh puffs Chad ellipse focus right now Smith's to manual this is which has known for these lines right here so let's see what he does with it will it will peg to 180 Matt Bacak fantastic work so far basically manual around almost a quarter of new horse he went deep in the nose manual kept on barspin over the gap to fakie people put a load that's the one that got him on the first run all here so 540 perfect Sakhalin that one up from what we saw in round one this is impressive so far 180 board said oh if he is off would he jump three back on the bike and let's see what's going to happen for the rest of the run here impact from that going to flap it he didn't mess around he got right back after and there you go big Redemption at the end of the run Chad Kerley didn't like the way it worked out the first time said you know what I'm going to end the run with a statement and do it again yeah that mess up right there his feet just couldn't handle the impact as we're talking before these guys go high and when they land there is so much impact that their body absorbs so just imagine that your feet going off of those pedals right there and notice that's holding all your weight there's so much force right there you can see his feet blow off real quick that's one foot and one back we jump straight back I was like very small mess he wasted absolutely no time and on the on the Redemption attempts at the end of their run is that I'm not going out without Megan missed and he made it look strange Kathak at the end of that run so he ends up with it eighty one point six six there was only a couple of tenths of a point higher than what he got in the first round so that is going to leave him in eighth place on the day so with three riders left to go two of them are on the outside of the top three looking in this is your defending bronze medalist from last year and often rock referred from Destrehan Louisiana he's currently sitting in sixth place he was on the top three but he's been bumped down we'll see if he can bump back up here in the second final attempt so Brock was riding really good all week so far for watching their practice here we go oh we know he tries to save it but the legends anyway right there there's nothing to do about that one I hope we can get a momentum back and keep this going there's a tooth that grinds you over on the a-frame / L to hoard 360s always power on this guy unbelievable that's a Breck cross approaching be shipwrecked big predict the cable cloud their unique visiting down was going to come out mystery competition and those two bars been tricking everything in front of him this guy he doesn't let anything get past he really doesn't and now I do in there for Brock rain for that was unfortunate there at the top part of the run just for good measure I was a wooden home L blood stick after L I was some bonus tricks for you there that was Brock 2.0 that move time which is doing that for the fans here inside the US Bank Stadium here's the Boston to ice the grime perfect control right there landed with both wheels balanced at the same time there's the upper rail to hoard 360 right into the toothpick to pop over and you know he had a hit of messed up that on a cut came up on them and you know it's a sometimes you got it under control you know what you want to do but things do not go your way I've been there many times before it's frustrating in everybody but you know what you just kind of keep on power through well that'll leave him in sixth place on the day as he sticks with that first run score so here's where we are now we're down to our final two riders last year's defending silver medalist and last year's defending gold medalist your gold medalist Garrett Reynolds - buzz laughs sitting in the top position this next gentleman here from Toms River New Jersey talking about genre can ii he is on the outside of the top three looking in we know Garrett's getting a medal we know Devan smile he's getting a medal so moany Baraka was in the bubble spot right now he's sitting in third place John Mercanti sitting in 11th there's a shot of your current leader the gentleman keeps talking about who's won eight out of nine contestants Street event here at the X Games he will ride last will it be a glory laughs working this next gentleman here shake up the standing he's the last guy they can shake up the top three your silver medalist from last year and he got that silver medal as an X Games rookie by the way getting some props from a street park dirt our house Dennis Anderson in that least aging as well as Garrett Reynolds but here we go we got chorus for 45 seconds I'll Braille the bar he did a 360 toothpick over that rail look at that he did toothpick to over pegs to pop over Wow he saved that one right there his front wheel did not get exactly where he wants he actually wrote across the ledge but he came out with a Smith showing he's amazing at what he does he really is this like type of riding he is so well known for his control and his ability to do so many tricks so quickly Forrest bend the crooked 20 extremely difficult groove right there three in one combo down that rail just under ten seconds left here look at that pull out tails right there he takes a little bit loss of speed on their small bobble Vader on the quarter pipe and that will be the buzzer there for your defending silver medalist from last year so there's your current leader he gets to ride last as we await the score here for Shaun take a look at some replay here Shaun started out so well such a difficult move right there toothpick to hop over to pegs to hop back over and this is where it's probably landed on the ledge but he did get back into the smiths so it wasn't a full loss right there here is the tail whip 180 off to the wedge right here he's got a free coaster as you could see his bike doesn't have to pedal backwards like Hanley's did and now I'm curious to see whether this is going to get him you know wasn't exactly what he wanted but he ends up with a 79 so that is the exact same scores you got in round number one so that'll leave him in 11th place and that means with our last cat arrived this one is going to be a victory lap Garrett Reynolds is going to take home yet another X Games BMX Street gold medal like I said this guy wrote the book when it comes to Street at the X Games he is so fantastic at what he does it's so much power so much control and it's pretty amazing really so let's see he puts on a good show for the crowd right now a New Jersey guy is going to say whether here's the cold metal or not he's just going to go out there and do what he does he just goes out there and just we've seen this before when he's had victory lap run sometimes he's even been so free so if he doesn't have to get it nothing phases him he gets on his bike and he's a machine and he says I didn't pack at all still sending huge tails over to ship rag right into a truck to fakie he's got 16 seconds left is he going to still go let's see what he's got hey you know what why not have some fun with your victory lap out here bar spins off my music see out this guy's probably gonna up the scoop from the first time I did it going and yet an 89 3 3 the first time around for just going out there and having some fun this might actually be the fastest recorded cricket down there that's gonna be John four cat rentals well make that nine out of ten ladies and gentlemen even though he didn't have to he still went out there and put on a clinic getting a hug and a pat on the back from Dakota Roche right there either grab their you're gold silver bronze and Garrett Reynolds Devin smiling it's somebody Baraka by the way Devon and Simone its first-ever X Games medal twenty eight you're going to have to put on there the mix teams no stranger to a BMX treat podium either you get two silver medals in this event Garrett Reynolds taking yet another gold medal and just continuing his reign of dominance here on the street course let's send it down to Brian Kachinsky for an interview with our winner all right here we are pure dominance here Reynolds X Games gold medalist once again here in Minneapolis Garrett how did it feel to win the first ever X Games in the Midwest so good I just wanted to relax on my run and try to get into a rhythm once you get the first two tricks down you kind of just get into a flow and it gets a lot easier yeah complete complete domination you know what's funny is that here we're today at a contest you know you're amongst your competitors but just about a month ago I was out in the streets with you with a lot of these guys as friends and as teammates so how does that feel you know today is it any different or is it just a session with your buddy it's not very competitive out here we're all with it's a BMX family we all love each other we all support each other that's what it's all about awesome well congrats again and job well done I love carrots interviews because he's always gives the entire field a pat on the back and it's just another session riding with his friends out there no boasting from this guy at all as Garrett Reynolds right there fantastic BMX free riders well it was a chess match here on the street course and when it's all said and done the Italian rider Simone Ava Rocco takes the brunt his first ever X Games medal Devon smiley with the silver his first medal as well and the ninth person to take silver in the 10 ContentID BMX Street events here at X Games and it's Garrett Reynolds walking out of here with you another dole and making it nine out of ten it was a lot of tech savvy with them barely moved to flat here on the street course and Garrett Reynolds continues the reign of dominance so walk away with yet another gold medal here from X Games Minneapolis here inside the US Bank Stadium [Music]
