welcome everyone to the fourth and final day here in x-games Minneapolis 2017 we're inside the US Bank scene which is normally home to the Minnesota Vikings and today its home to fruit of the Loom BMX dirt final good afternoon everyone Jimmy Coleman here sitting alongside Scotty Cramer we've got Brian Kachinsky in the field and well BMX dirt one of my favorite events to watch Scott Ian basically just he by that practice shot right down the course these guys come down that rollin they're going to have three big jumps to contend with out here today but a brand new feature on the course this year there's a quarter pipe at the end of the jump you do not see a quarter pipe usually in dirt jumping but today you're going to see some crazy BMX jumping also at the end of the quarter pipe it's going to be insane so you got Kevin Peraza coming into this being your defending gold medalist from last year now we had a qualifier earlier in the week by virtue of him being the defending gold medal is actually our entire podium from last year they did not have to ride in the opening qualifier as you look at some highlights from last year and X games often KP gets the ride last being the defending gold medalist but this gentleman right here Vic Bruce he's one to watch for out here today Scotty Nick Bruce came up in the qualifying delivering an insane run that could have been right at the top of that one judging was so close in that qualifying but the word on the street is nick has some crazy tricks that he has in his bag that he wants to unleash perfect on this final now there are 10 or riders in the field we took seven from the qualifier earlier in the week and we have our three podium finishers from last year but there is the start list and then there is some serious firepower and that start list right there Scotty when I'm looking over to start list I see all the potential tricks that we could potentially see in this final right here and it's going to be absolutely insane three runs each person it's going to be endless and that's exchanged from this year compared to last year last year you had to have two runs two good runs they took your two best runs and combined them together this year it's three runs and it's just the best run that counts again ten athletes in the lineup out here five judges they're working off of a 100 point scale that basically picked the high of the low scores out the remaining three are average together and the big key here this year it's just the best run it's not your two best runs if you just need one big huge run to get on the podium and again with that quarter pipe beats are added that does factor into the equation judges are looking at overall impression of what you do on all three jumps and that quarter pipe in overall impression is going to be crucial today if you want to see perfect landings feet on the pedals no casings and the best tricks possible and we started off with an X Games rookie this guy's known for his solid riding and his smooth style as we get set to kick off here at Fruit of the Loom BMX dirt final this is Australia's Brandon loop oats and directing a little bit via the next games looking and having to start things off but what goes through your mind is your get ready to come down that rolling complete folk if you were worried exactly about what you're going to be doing on this plank so grant is starting it off with a backflip tail over the first one into the 720 very similar to what we saw in the qualifying actually and there's the triple tail whip into the quarter pipe and that's at 540 right there so what I'm seeing is you're getting it to be wet in this one he's actually going out there trying to get a run established and he's going to keep on progressing as the day goes on so here's a replay of the flip whip if you could see backflip and a tail combined perfectly spot on the landing great control he actually squeezed in a pedal there I was interesting and the triple tail whip he's one of the fastest tail whipping riders that we have in the field today easily catch this apply plenty of distance above the landing perfect for Brandon Lucas I was crazy how many fast you able to get the frame that light to whip around three complete times again as we roll through this competition here today the best possible run scores you can get is 100 and it's tough you're the first guy out of the gate you're setting the bar for things you've got to shake off the nerves or set the pace but again with the best run County I like that format a lot better it changes up the strategy quite a bit this gentleman right here at no stranger to the BMX dirt gold talking about a Ryan Knight with he's tasted gold in this event before he's actually been riding slope style mountain bike competition over the last year this number Google bike riders just go so dropping in going at 350 one-handed exit over the first one 354 she barks him back and then on the third hit Oh double barks been Vlasic Ryan language right there anyway with a 540 parson I was going to say I was going to speed that it before he might watch the hand of our deep though for spinning the bars in the middle of his tricks but how about that with the 540 barzmann off that quarter to that roller landing you know it's a great use of the quarter pipe right there but here we go this is going to be the second jump I believe so catches the bar spin tosses it back the other direction right there and you can see it's front wheel is still spinning I think the next shot we're going to see might be the back foot double bars then yep and you can see the front wheel is stopped and that allows the bike to be able to spin upside down like that because the rotation of weight of the wheel will disrupt the spin and it will not come around so it's kind of technical when it comes down to it that we sent it he just gets into that back lip it just casually floats those bars around to complete rotation Brandon loop will set the bar it's deafening 1.66 Ryan I'll check in with a seventy eight point three three and that will put him in the top spot as of right now another X Games rupee right here added your field Beach Florida I'm going to welcome in to Brian Fox and look out this guy is known for going big big is right look at the zone straightaway range to the truck driver he's got great speed let's see what he does with it it's been a little too much around in the rotation but that is three 360s in the middle of one jump there at the end of the run so unbelievable and that was so close right there you know what yeah look at this those back foot starting off he is so good is he him in any Buckworth or one of you know they're both the people that are able to throw these on pretty much any jump they'd come across when we do a perfect landing both wheels touch pretty much at the same time and here's a 1080 everything looks so good you can see he's a lot in the form right there spinning around but it starts to flatten out right here as you can see when the back wheel delivers the front wheels still high he cannot get his weight to the front end and it sends him to his side and make some slide out he's able to clean that one up again it's three Rockets the best of your three runs of accountant excited to see what he may throw into the quarter pipe at the end of that run but we'll see more of mr. Fox here in round number two as of right now here in round up on its Ryan Nyquist sitting in the top spot we'll have more fruit of the Loom BMX dirt when we come back [Music] welcome back everyone the fourth the final day here of X Games Minneapolis we're here through the loop BMX dirt final fruit of the Loom their tagline is breathable moments and I guess if you need a breather it was hot out here the other day you should go in front of this giant fan out there I'm not sure how the parachute part of that size of the equation in there Scotty but I would say that's definitely a breathable moment right there fully agree with you on that one looks pretty fun though actually that's outside here inside the US Bank Stadium we've dropped three riders out of ten here in this opening round out of three and it is Ryan Nyquist that sits in the top spot as of right now three rounds of competition here in the fruit illumine BMX dirt final it's your best run that counts as we get set to bring in it colton a walker another X Games rookie work a double duty out here this weekend who's in the park final yesterday and he's another one of those guys that's got a deep arsenal of tricks and have some explosive firepower that you can bring to the dirt course insane combos we're about to see right now he's able to combine tricks that no other rider came exactly forged and Sayla backflip oh we think it's the best landing had to go with a straight jump there but 360 double downside say with into the flare whip you know what that's going to be not the one he was looking for but you got to start you got to get your nerves going you have to you have to be able to get in the group somehow take another look at it right here it started off good on the first set that's beautiful he landed a little bit low and it looks like his feet weren't on the pedals properly so he couldn't get the best hit for the second job but I said he jumped the second set to try to keep momentum going to get over set number three but sometimes just how it goes I've been there before when you're you have all these nerves and you're coming into your first run and sometimes you're not able to get to where you want to but you know what you just kind of got to use that as a as a chance to you know shake out the nerves and get going with the rest of the day okay Logan Martin he was in the mark competition yesterday as well this guy is a very talented Park rider as is the depth of tricks that this guy is able to do distance ain't absolutely look at him already crazy combos he'll and a little rough let's see if he's got the speed backflip double to Nellis oh boy I do a triple tail there I mean there's just so much going on I mean sorry three jump and then you've got that quarter pipe though mark sincerely if you don't get a perfect landing they could throw out the entire tape when you run you're totally right so here we go back foot more spin it's due to help on the first one great combination and he fouls it up with another one a front flip bar Spin City the bars on that that's insane and then he puts it into a tough no hander puts the bar straight into his lap and he landed rings you see that left hand coming off yeah he better many times speed it happens that's how BMX is but on all right and when eighty nine point six six so he will take the top spot as we are halfway few and run over here and round number one out of three your copy right now it's Martin Nyquist and Lupo's nicely done there by Logan Martin and we talked about this gentleman at the top of the show as being one to watch out for another X Games rookie we got a couple of them in the final out here today he to working double duty competing in both Park and dirt this weekend this is Nick root Nick it's soap as you're not BMX riding look at that starting off with the 360 no handed backflip if you see how high that one 360 Double Down side can whip into an under flip to the hood fantastic stuff Blair down side to help clean this guy rod it's like that was such a great first run you get things going he's got to feel fantastic about himself now we get to the replay but we see that to watch the puppet gets off the lipid watch how high he goes on this look at this perfect form takes his hands off fully extended and he lands so well right here is the perfect landing on that trick and this is over the last jump I called it an under flip because you see me the leaning to his left side he's not like fully committed to going straight back but it's almost like a flare with but you're going straight over to jump and flare ups are pretty much easy for Nick Russo this pointing so he's so good and again - you know - just we talk about the top of show that quarter pipe is a brand new feature we have not seen that the BMX dirt here in the X Games in years past and it is factoring into the store out here today so Nick will go with an 88 flat for that first run and that will slide him into second place as of right now kyle balda he is the owner of three count three actually they were three consecutive xscape BMX dirt gold medals and he's been for whose personal period spent well deserved because the tricks like that stack flip double bar sitting into a front flip dr. handers into the third Jill oh the hell up 720 and then a 540 player that was really good right there ecology teaming with a with a couple combinations that we haven't seen yet so far especially the last jump that was definitely his best jump out of three that last year actually we'll go to the replay yeah well here did about last year here's the 720 hope he catches it and he's got to keep on spinning keep that body in form perfect actually breathe into the quarter pipe here what I'm going to say about last year last year you needed to view and run to combine together he had the single highest run-scorer the competition but he was unable to get a second run down last year so we'll see what happens is the score here for him and he will slide it with an eighty eight point six six so that'll slide him in to second place so it smart ball lock and Bruce still to come we've got reward round one when we come back after this message and a word from our TV serie nation alright I'm down here on the starting ramp and Sunday is usually the day arrests but these guys are putting in work I just talked to James Foster and he basically just said just another day riding bikes having fun going to do some tricks alright so Bryan we're actually gonna have you stick around and call this run here with Gotti with James Foster he was your bronze medalist from last year and well he comes in to this event here today with a gold medal that he got on Friday night in BMX big air and what a monster run that was for him he got it done on his fourth and final run he is your BMX bigger gold medalist just for 2017 but we're going to get some work done here it Fruit of the Loom BMX dirt Johnny he had me holding on to the railing during his BMX big air I almost fell over that's how creepy his run was so I can only imagine what kind of momentum he's going to bring into this one right now well he's been working out of the opportunity that concentration if he goes through the motions there in his head before the run and here we go with James Foster oh man that's not the way you want to start out your run right there but he's not he's okay at the throw that one away over the first set right there again are bad you get three runs the better of your three runs that counts look at that he throws the bars and instant hit hand on that force and can you imagine being upside down and trying to find your hand look at what you got two hands on one hand apart you see still fight for the grab on that he almost was able to pull that back in and land with the handlebars back room I don't know how far that would have gotten in anyway but do that if the Nitro rule games a couple of weeks ago he went to try it back to the triple bar spin and caught the bars backward and rode out of that the next must be involving then in fact because these are tricks that I didn't know then Wallace you're defending silver medalist from last year this was his sixth appearance here got a silver medal last year as well as in 2014 here in BMX dirt then walrus personality for insane style control everything about what he does is so human look at that and that's a brief if you look back ringing through a double tail with heading to the third shell now 360 look back to downsize a with the backflip cop over for been there and excel to look back right there we saw three look back in that run which is a quite interesting well it was there's a lot of seen what you did last time in this game when he was here he did only step reach if you look back to counter with there as well so they can rather look at it here double tail would extremely precise so being you know second childhood that's where you need to make sure you land extension you can to get ready for your last jump right here and which is the 360 look back to now with three tricks at the same time pretty amazing actually been a very solid rider always known for good execution on this trick as well as great an extension to a seventy nine point three three for him so the last year slipper melon would slide into for clay for them right now with one a rider left to go in the lineup here in round one before he dropped in let's check in with last year's dirt gold medal of Kevin Peraza is this road 2x brought to you by since it's a coke Kevin let's learn a little bit more about you what got you into BMX in the first place my dad grew up riding BMX in Mexico Nia was younger and then got my older brother David into it at the racetrack and so on myself and now Victor and Eddie are all riding you know everyone but my mom so what have you been up to since last year's X Games gold medal I've been traveling non-stop you know more than blessed to travel the world doing what I love to do and literally been to every country decides like Middle East of India that's this past year yeah it's unreal man I can't can't believe this stuff so tell me about the Boise Park qualifier was that nerve wrecking going in just to try to secure an invitation to X Games for the Apple bed the dirt gold medalist trying to get the exeed Park in Minneapolis Kevin Brock we're all competing first six spots you can only imagine what we're all going through a pool coping for me is so terrifying as well he's just having fun I'm not it was good time you know we all finished out super good I ended up taking third place which is which is amazing for me I was super hyped up super cool to see X Games open up their doors and bless dudes that don't have the opportunity to get invited to actually some come and try to try to make it you know I'm like in at Minneapolis I mean is it hard for you to juggle two events I mean I don't mind I love riding I mean if I wake up healthy you know and I can ride I'm gonna ride so it's I get to do double practice that's several you know double events that I I could potentially get a medal in or do good and you know just to have a good time for sure two chances for a gold or better than one hahaha what are you motivation to stay at the top like I say all the time I think enjoying what you do in remembering why you started in the first place you know wake up and remember life could be worse absolutely bmxs have blessed me and more than thankful to have a family that supports me in that already Emma I can motivate them to do better for themselves and I'm doing something yes just your blessing on do you feel more pressure going into Minneapolis this year versus last year now that you're the defending champion a lot of people ask you that and obviously I do feel like there's pressure because I want to do good for myself you know I've done it once and I feel like if I could do it again you know the chance is there and it has to just feel it out that day and make it have it fine parallel to the ground send it like it we'll see you send it good luck in Minneapolis yeah for sure matinee you guys for the bike ride stroll let's go have some fun shall we sweetie I'll see you guys later peace did you hear that question for Jackie says what's he going to be like trying to juggle two different disciplines here at the a-team obviously it wasn't a problem you know why because yesterday he took the gold medal in Toyota BMX park so you've got a gold medal from me after damn PMX Park he comes into this as you're defending the third gold medal if Kevin's just always having the best time ever on its leg you can see that beautiful 360 campaign masses through the man all we love to speed a little bit but he's still going 360 one-handed tabletop and he's going to end it off with a flare in vert but inside it's the opposite direction that he would usually do it because now trace works that out you can't really click that trick further than we just saw out there get some love right there with the Peraza banner you see hanging off the side of the rail every contest of so much of Kevin's family shows up it's so cool they feel like our family as well so here we go the 360 one-handed tabletop ukiyo-e leads the bike sideways stretches a hand off leans the bike extremely stylish very Kevin probs alike so and I just fantastic control that's all I could really say this everything he does is so precise look at this right here coming in folding the bike up look at these foot completely off that pedal there where his shoulder dips into the front tire on that one of the manages to bring that one around you can towards his body into like folding that bike it's pretty amazing great looking trick so let's see were to just comes from a big BMX family's got three brothers David Eddie Victor his dad also rides as well what's it going to be if he is 70 point three three for him so that'll leave him in sixth as of right now we have completed round number one out of three we still have two more rounds left to go here in fruit of the Loom BMX dirt final but as of right now it's logan martin kyle balda and nick spurs your top three will have round two when we come back to US Bank Stadium welcome back to the fourth and final day here at X Games Minneapolis brand new home for the X Games here in 2017 that gentleman right there is a member of the X px family his name is Luke but he's more commonly known as the dingo he's out there he's our he's our fashion model right now trying out some of the official X Games first day so you can get at the skateboard if you see if trying to kick that's inside the bird's head that's out there in the XS but if you're not here on site you want to get to the next game here you can log on the SD doc comp last merchandise or X conversing guys how much to say and you can get all your gear whether it has t-shirts all that they've got skateboards as well and again the X Games merchandise calm here inside the US Bank Stadium though we've completed round one out of three here in fruit of the Loom BMX dirt and this is where we stand ten riders didn't feel good as Australians Logan Marcus and then top spot with an eighty nine point six six title falls off not too far behind with an eighty eight point six six and it's Nick Bruce if you talked about is hard to washboard to top the show sitting in that third spot right now with an 88 flat right now let's check in one more time out the field with Brian Kachinsky all right we're down here with Logan Martin Logan after run one you're sitting in the top spot what is your strategy moving forward so I just want to get the first one out of the way I don't exactly what I want to do let's get you but I'm going to do the same thing I've got a few more things to do in the next two rounds but yeah we'll make it happen you got the target on your back good luck man thank you just I liked how casually was about that guys like yeah you know a little bit sketchy I got the first one out of the way it makes me nervous I get goosebumps thinking about what that guy could possibly bring in round two and three as we start over at the top of the run order here it is the best of your three that count here just to recap the best possible run scores you can get is 100 points we get set to bring back in Brandon Lupo's one of our X Games rookies we've got several of them in the field here today Brandon's currently sitting in seventh place and over right now another insane Australian rider got such pictures for you to see backflip double toe blends out perfectly going three into the chest on the second set what did you got in the third three throw triple sail with the quarter pipe and there you go a solid second run for Brandon loop oh wow that was that was crazy cash flow that's a big one over the second said you got a lot to talk before we go to that replay to explain to fans what exactly goes into that trick all right well here we go I'm the first one the backflip double tail if I noticed very very well catches it and he lands perfect as you can see he has full control and the ability to go into the casserole well this one the third Jones is the 360 triple to help he has three of them all the way around he catches up like the pedals I know it's both went a little mirror you could see right there I don't know if you people to put it back on or not going back to that second Jeff though that casual he got such a sweet landing out of that to set him up for that third hit yeah those casuals are interesting you're able to push through on those what kind of 360 and it could be a 720 off axis as well so it's a very interesting trick you're able to push through and continue on foot that will give him an 85 flat flat hip up into fourth place Ryan at night with one of the elder statesman in at the field coming down the Roland for his second out of three BMX legend right here have been looking up to him since I was a kid oh well look like his short driver went wrong Americans went for a double we will have to see the replay to confirm what happened there but that's very Illinois grind night but usually he's got these uh pretty dialed in so long to all it caught is right by you see that he like stomping that was the bar and caught his right thigh that was spinning around that is crazy looking right there and he tried it's best to catch the bike just like team's day because when the bars are Spain on you and you're about to crash on it that's a possibility you can land on that neck that's the last thing you ever want to do so you're trying to control it and get it out of the way slides out of that want to be able to walk away so we'll see board him in round at number three we get in said to take another look at Ryan and Fox right here that was a big influence he was growing up that actually owns a bicycle store called State Street bicycles in Athens Georgia and as I mentioned in round number one this gentleman is known for going it big currently stakes in ninth place with it right now has a problems in that first run he gave it the beauty the format it's the best of your three runs that chance I'm pretty excited to see what Bryan box is able to unleash in this competition I know how excited he needs to be here at X Games I know how important it is to him so now the scene again his chance this time to shine right now so the biggest competition of the year and he's lined up ready to go so apparently they're doing some quick coursemate into right now so that's why we have the three hole but there you get a with that overhead shot right there it gives you the bird's eye view of what these riders are contending with out is they those three jumps you've got gaps 25 21 and 17 feet that quarter pipe featured in its a 8 foot quarter pipe and then those roller landings they're 10 feet but they don't have it's got a roller landing there's no lip on that thing so it's a little forgiving on the landing some of these crazy tricks that these guys are firing off on that quarter pipe and here we go rolling them in Brian here we go he's plumping down the rule and straight so that looks like you've been doing screwdrivers you've got a great pump let's see what he delivers we're getting the 1080 again oh they 2 gets away from a kid same kind of press that he has not with his weight we're Sippy on his bike Vollmer for dry rocks so here's the 1080 you see me spinning his body its purpose with straight spinning in access but rate when he comes around you see how the front end comes back up waiting on the landing that's not where you need to be you need to have your weight above the handlebars so you can get to both wheels on the ground and ride away from them so you've got to be foamed on that one file he's got one more run again the change from last year last year you had to have to run this year it's just the fence around the couch so there's still a third round to go we will see Brian Fox when you get to that third round hold Walker currently think it place another one of our X Games rookie the custom grew up in Minneapolis the family moved away when he was 7 years old the New Richmond Wisconsin it's not too far away but if you get a drive - this one's basically a home show for him look at him go did already pull through he pushed through that one amazing control goes down somewhat so late for spin on that one it's a huge huge favorite there by Cole walk at a local boy Wow I can't wait to see replays on this guy everything he does it's so precise so controlled and that was such a great way to go take a look at this it's Lobo to appreciate the magnitude of what happened in that run and that's the second jump you've actually pushed through on now and look how much he landed you have to pick up the bike to get right into the top of the landing and here's the last one the finishing move the craziest trick we've seen so far in this quarter pipe the flare with to catch the bar spin I don't know how stuff where he's down he's coming around out of that and then manages to speak of our catchment ride away from that that was a huge huge finish there for cold water and a 93 spot so now your top three cold blogger Brogan Bartman kyle balda what a huge run right there the youngest BMX rider at the X Games you this year it just 20 years old and a huge run there Scotty that was unreal honestly for him to put that together now he's got everybody else from the podium their brains are going they know that they have to step it up this is going to be an easy day for them at all huge score Colton's got to be so proud all right well he was your leader until that run cold water this is Logan Park coming down the rolling back foot Parsons Hill very similar to : great from the parts from the no hands Zach look doubleday look pretty much the same run that we just saw except this time it's on a quad they are on the left one all right here we go here comes the check back so hard and so many when it comes to Kelton Logan is so hard because the plates been so fast you've got that high for jet fuel bike so it looks crazy when it's spinning around let's see what I got see the replay this what Cory just dodging yeah when cords doing that you know you did something right so far spins no-handed front flip very very technical move so I really want to see his quarter quite less you can count them there's one there is two there's number three and then yes get around the fourth tail up quad whip there the quarter pipe there easy form they really are this point it's great to have that kind of hang time to make Forte let's come around like that and what's it going to be he'll track into the night if you get a 91 33 but that's not enough to overtake old Walker so that'll leave him in second place as of right now so a bit of a dog bite unfolding here in true to the movie your final he's got more foreground to when we come back here to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis welcome back to economists fourth and final day here outside the US Bank seated we've got the x-men and us maybe instead of outside there they're a proud sponsor of the X Games they've got the cool stuff off displays of interactive games in the people test out some of their pretty cool equipments as Americans maybe uses it for more about careers available you can check out America's page our excuse Minneapolis coverage continues today at 3:00 p.m. Eastern on ESPN with mints Edward Park final BMX park best trick in the motox quarter pipe I air file it should be epic you can also watch the X Games streaming live on the ESPN app and the fans are packing in here inside the US Bank Stadium why because we're in round two here in prison balloon BMX dirt final chibi : Erikson alongside Scottie Kramer we got blind Kachinsky out in the field we are at the halfway point out of ground at number two out of three we saw Colt Walker take the lead earlier this next gentleman right here taken through set to drop it right now hear a little bit about it looks like the mental game that goes into riding here at X Games I'm learning that there's more mentality than anything in the sport so I've been really trying to read about psychology and it's really helping me as far as growing as a person and feeling really confident so we talked about this yesterday in Park yes it's very physical but there's also a huge mental game that goes into prepping for these events Scotty oh it's huge from my personal experience I learned that you have to be able to feed yourself before you can see anybody else out here you have to believe in yourself fully and uh Nick it's clearly Hans way to doing that so here we go again 360 backflip no-hander right to a 360 Double Down so if you hung up a little bit that's going to Alvin speed though able able to get that front flip over the third set as you can see people they do to lay out front flip when they don't have too much speed be able to continue on it helps them to keep their momentum going so you know what he was able to keep up on the wheels so that's very important but here's when things went wrong 360 double downs like tail if the tilts going the opposite direction now when he catches up life he just didn't have enough speed to clear the rim and that throws off the momentum and that disrupts his body from continuing on he kept his feet off the dirt on that when you see that one foot wanted to come off and kind of toe drag at the dirt he kept his feet on the pedals and again able to do a trick over that third and final set there he had an 88 flat from his first friend that he'll stick with that scores of right now that'll keep him in fourth place child baldock he was your gold medalist in 2013 in Foz iguazu brazil as well as 2014 to 2015 in X Games often he currently sits in a bronze medal position amazing Australian rider respect as you can hear the crazy stuff this complication goes on for him and here we go already 360 flip into the front flip no hander full 720p tail again on that court with the frontflips claire has a what they say is a flare isn't flip and air combines so it's pretty much a back 180 but this time you went forward with the fumble 2080 but this is beautiful right here 720 tail catches up like 360 tail and rotates the rest with his body perfect access but yeah things went wrong in this quarter pipe right here as soon as he pumped up to do the trumpet player didn't get the best pop that he needed so it sent him to the top of the roller instead of back into the ramp and you can see it's front wheel cases it shows everything and then that's when things went terribly wrong roll those dives on that one this kind of bounced him off and over the bars there so he's going to shake that one off and look to get it done in the round at number three so absolutely like a bronze medal right now that first walk scores got it sitting in third place James foster at a rush go over that first set again your gold medal winner in BMX be here on Friday night what a monster run is it he's super fired up about that one but he's looking to get some work out here it's true to the live with a BMX dirt didn't go so well his first broad he had a problem with that natural forest and combination he would do any good if I know James he's mentally ready and he's going to deliver right now all right she went with a back flip don't hand her over the first that's the tip over to second one and it back foot a up over to third one and she's not in his dream run I know a couple things went wrong that belt should be handed back what about the first that you knew that definitely wasn't what he wanted so maybe a little bit banged up after that first attempt all right so here we go is his crashing his run you know he seemed like he was trying to just get a run down just to get us nerves going but we did the flair and he didn't pull out enough it's back we'll hit the top of the roller and have this rough fitted but um we're going to see James Foster in another run it's not over yet it's easy as that to turn everything around and BMX you know you like I said it's all mental and yes we were explaining it as well so you have to be able to conquer that moment to continue on as the greater effort though we're going to go back to that Nik Roope briefly talking about the mentality of it all then Wallace you're defending silver medalist from last year as well as 2014 walked away with a dirt silver there he also riding with some adversity suffered whiplash in March of last year and it still affects him so he's definitely riding with considerable bottom shin out well it doesn't look like it stopping him today he's going massive over to jump oh he landed a little low on that first one he went a little bit too high actually and he still keep it going no he's going to be able to get a run-scoring seen and that's good for the confidence that means you know if you're feeling up to jump everything that we do is multiple memory on the image so while we're riding these jumps every single day during practice we're trying to remember how far it is how much airtime we need how much a plate we need to squeeze in certain tricks and then land into the landing you can see right here he missed majority part of the landing did not get speed to continue on so you had to settle for a three jump over to second one so his first rough score was a seventy nine point three three that has been sitting in sixth place as of right now so people stick with that again this is round two there are three rounds and it is the best run the counts we have won a rather left to go here in the run over he turned 58 place he didn't exactly get the run down that he wanted that first time round is your defending gold medalist the dirt from last year and he's also your Park gold medalist from yesterday talking about Kevin Peraza well that might be the reason why you're smiling so much but he always is actually look at that from new inform 360 whip to one-handed tabletop went for public / second one into a 360 Superman seat grab and we'll see if we can deliver on the quarter pipe oh oh it's a sail toss was never easy one Thabo there for kevin Peraza to cap it off on the quarter pipe that was good that was good right there unlike with Kevin cheese you know there's a culture and I have to scream Kevin really too before so older be less jump right here this is the 360 Superman seat grab great would get that left legs taken out great extension yeah great for from Kevin and you know we're known to speak Kevin on that but you see hung up a little bit there couple things that's disrupted them but didn't stop them from getting this Blair tale with catching the bike rotating the rest of the way and then clicking a little tabletop in there I was going to say I like that throw in the extra variation in the get your three trick in one combo right there so that will be an 82 flat for him so that will have it in six plays here at the end of round that number two we still have one more round to go Kyle ball not fitting in third Logan Martin to the executive but as of right now if it x-games rookie sitting in the top spot we'll have the conclusion when we come back final round it is the best run accountant at the bright now it is the rookie kolten Walker who attention the top spot with a respectable score of 93 flat however loading marks not too far behind and the only other for the 94 the 91 point to agree and Australia's Kyle ball box 53rd however it is far from over as all ten of these riders are going to get one more one if one more run each in their quest or xscape gold here today picked up the awesome overhead shot courtesy of the spire cam brought to you by Pacific oh this is what the riders have to contend with here the brutal BMX dirt and it got three jumpers they come down that monster rolling and something that's brand-new here in 2015 we've got the quarter pipe feature at the end of the course so here we go we go back up to the top of the start order it's the third and final round last chance for these guys to try to jump up here and through to the little BMX dirt final we're bringing in Brandon Lupo I've read a new pose dropping on in massive backflip double tape over to first one sprain to the casserole let's see if you can deliver him third one into the semi oh no back tire on the lip of that last set oh that was so close right there it is not when waves advance that's a good sign there it is there's a 1080 he's spinning perfect he's got such a great spin just like Brian Fox though it seems plot the landing he looks around but he Clips the back wheels of the selling his big if you would have had a little bit more speed he would have been perfectly in the clear to land that one but you know what he's back up everything's okay got the brush off the dirt on that one we couldn't get up and walk away or in this case ride away right now under his own power but man rolling the dice right there so he'll stick with his second run score which is the better of the three and that leaves between fifth place as of right now Oh Ryan Nyquist had some adversity out here this afternoon he's sitting up there on top of the roll and ready to get unleashed for his third and follow up he is number three on the all-time BMX most metals list here the history of the X Games with a pretty impressive stat give me an idea of his longevity BMX competition here at the X Games he's been is this beginning I've been such a fan of Ryan Markus is riding so oh you did a three 360 there into the 360 suicide double truck driver and he's going to end up with a 7 2000 wild look in 720p they're not the typical type of said the twenties bit they could be out of Ryan you're right I was just about to say that as soon as I saw him going psycho rotation and not be able to respond landing like normally just to leaned in he's two nodes i braid here you know it looked like he was supposed to land winning to the left of the screen and set up instead of coming towards us so things didn't go right at all but you know what Ryan necklace is a true BMX legend every BMX rider looks up to him and he's back up on his feet and he's able to keep on going so hey you know what sometimes you gotta you gotta settle forward for the wins day of being healthy this situations like this all right Ryan Fox currently 15 10th place he is roll two dice twice here on that 1080 which has not worked out for a piece clothes on it he's washed out of into the route of the painting will the 3rd time be the charm daddy will he's bringing the energy right now so I'm pretty excited about this one is that double back we'll begin to start it off perfect oh we had to soak for the forest he doesn't have any speed what's he going to do if I go over to any of y'all know again oh man do you know one look at this guy such great spirit he's got a feel fantastic just painting acting this is the biggest DMX event that we have every year so you've got to be so proud of that but look at this beautiful double backflip he comes in I think he landed a little bit low as you could see didn't get the full landing to be able to pump and get speed down he had to settle for the bar ceman over the second show and that's when things kind of ruined your momentum right there and it's so hard to come back in that it's impossible you're working against physics at that point at least three for three starting off the run there with the double backflips just roll the dice but know what trying to try to make that 1080 happen but the matter for an X Games rookie getting out here and put o it down for the fans we look up to the top of the roll in here hopeful Walker's view up next our current leader let's check in one more time with Brian Kachinsky before we get the Colton's next run [Applause] all right well I just had a good conversation with Colton Walker sure he's the next games rookie but he has the attitude of a pro he's a local boy he's got a lot of family support out here and he's just ready to have fun today on his like his second run obviously was incredible and we're excited to see what he coppers third yeah so he gets to drop it or roll in next I should think youngest BMX athlete at X Games Minneapolis this weekend it just one years old and by the way here's a little stat for you only one other rookie has ever taken an X Games BMX dirt gold and that will Steven Byrne you have to go all the way back to 2001 for that set did the driver seat right now candy hanging on candy bumped that score right here we know he's got a couple extra things in that bag of tricks he can add in the rounders County he's fully capable he really is he looks determined today Forrest in the back up say whaa you've got the 360 down stay with me and look what she was looking for a combination there right into the triple whip you know what looks like he's going to have fun on this one he's not awaiting a flair [Applause] so that real time speed box me and then maybe watch the replay tonight Wow honestly I'm the BMX rider and I look at that and it's hard for me to understand so I can only imagine people tuning in right now trying to figure out how this guy is able to come up with us a look at this he's leaning doing the back but watching as comes around catching the bike with his feet clamping the bike spinning the hand of course around it's so complicated right here but that is the craziest trick we've seen on the court applies today to very very technical riding because it's just wild how he's flat spinning in the middle of that where he touches with bars and how he wrote things that water out so he'll stick with that second rock score but again the x-games rookie is sitting in the top spot as of right now again this is the third and final round here is the best around the couch you're looking at Logan Martin he is currently sitting in a silver metal position well that can easily be changed right here because this guy is a machine back foot forcing Taylor that go oh no wow bleep it out that one just gets away from it that's a tough situation right there Stevie yeah he didn't have enough speed to get over the distance right there as you could see he's still gross in the hands in there but the back wheel hits the landing at the point where his rotation wasn't around enough didn't from the side view right here he commits so he puts the hands in there he knows he has to go for this one right here and as it comes around is not enough momentum to keep it going and a lot of these guys are writing breakouts are in here so if you have great you grab the back wheel stop your momentum to help you go forward but you know what that time it just didn't work out for me that's what's so difficult about to master right here there's so many special moments on this all right so he's going to have to settle for that second run score and hope it's good enough for silver we've got five riders left to go but right now it's a rookie in the lead can't cope of walk here hang on we'll find out when we come back to the conclusion we mix their final after this message and a word from our ABC stations hello my name is Olesya vez I'm half Italian half Greek I've been shooting action photography for the last 15 years this photo of panel bernard was taken last summer during my night 24/7 project in the island of miller in a really nice place called Cherokee Nevada in particular was will be a standout because the angle was perfect the light is curved and oh look you see and talked about this earlier the show again part of that cryptography initiative and if you want to get online and vote for your favorites you could do that at X gain competence just as their prime example some of the amazing action sports photography that's available to check out and vote on over there at X Games comm slash and doom here inside the US Bank Stadium though we're down to the third final round those names that you see in yellow have yet to ride here we're down to our five final riders but as of right now the big story an X Games rookie here at dirt Colt Walker keeps it in that top spot with a 93 flat but we've still got some heavy hitters left to go here including our defending gold medalist from last year Kevin parappa so it is far from over Scotty Granger this is the real crazy competition at this point these guys are trying their biggest tricks right now it's so competitive BMX is turning into such an amazing sport such perfection is needed to be young sodium's well this is Bruce Illume BMX dirt final as we get set to bring in it Bruce he currently sits one spot outside of the podium all right dropping in going with the 360 no headed a clip going in with the double tail but you can keep this going right now [Applause] Wow that was to foster tricks to finish off that run for Nick Bruce wow I haven't seen that one before from Nick it's pretty crazy he's amazing plane tickets are better to crack in the dupatta right now so let's see this one this is the one right here for retail whips as it comes around unbelievable I don't know how you can hang upside down in that position and get the table say three where's legs are we doing that it's amazing simply get it be there when he's upside down and this is a huge trick right here player double tail if not many people are capable of this trick and he's doing it at the end of his run I know he flipped the foot a little bit but it was minor very Einar very very left foot was floating around a little bit of the pedal but I agree with you that toe dad was absolutely minor but those were two monster tricks in an eighty eight point six six or betters which he could jump into the top three are leaves for right now is a 93 flat so it's going to be in 7:6 it'll be a point or shy the here of day in which place as of right now but Pam go to finish that one's right there thick roof tile ball box looking at a broad metal as of right now we'll see if he can jump up and try to take that lead away from Coleman Walker this guy has got some mobster trick me maybe will link them up back the back anything here this last run all right here we go looks like a backward combination on the search warrant oh no you wanted three forces it's not what you want you right here but it still goes for the 7 to 1.he double to it oh but we've seen him do a single kala at 7:24 doubling it up that go around at the end of the run that's an insane trick right there we need to see a replay of this one to show you guys you've got to throw the bike around twice catch it and then you could see he goes to the rest of his rotation but it was just a little little not enough hang time to be able to squeeze that all around he had to push through the gel and that made his angle of his bike when he came in not ready to go into the landing so but he's back on his bike he's rotting away from it you know it's so glad to see that well he's going to stick with that first run score it's got him at eighty eight point six six looking at a bronze medal as of right now however there are still three riders left to go it's our podium from last year at X Games often and those three riders are all outside of the top three looking in so it all comes down to these final runs here at Fruit of the Loom at BMX dirt final we've got James Foster do of neck those first two bucks is not worth Apple look at that look of concentration got expelled you know that he's going through the motion that his head right now before he comes down that rolling name look he had right on big air James is a very focused and calculated rider he makes sure he goes over exactly what he is doing before he drops in it's all mental there's so much mental that goes into his aim and James is fully capable of taking over there's a shot of your current leader who sits at the top side of the 93 flat as we bring in James Foster all right going over the first one back on sale would look like you're just going to do something else to make the trip Indian oh and then the double back oh no oh we've been out on that one over rotating that morning X against Medical is down there checking up bottom who I've been I've been in the same situation that just last year in Maya my BMX park run I did a similar crash it's not pleasant at all he landed on he overshot the jump and you could see he had so much speed going into this double backflip he bypassed the landing so when he was thinking about coming in nose eyes and accepting a landing he's already had three babies replay and he lands right on his backside and in BMX if it happens it does that's what we call looping out when you bypass the back wheel when you go over into your back side but I'll just change those Atlantic on this to it so all that compact right there in the back side and then again coming off of the big air final the other night too of means that those guys took a bit of a beating and bigger the other night as well I mean it is a monster ramp that those guys have to ride he took a couple of Falls over there so to see him riding here is this level in the dirt final just two days after that gold medal performance good to see him up and okay they was sitting over there being talked to you right now by X Games medical but good to see him get up and walk away under his own power there there's a current shot of your silver medal position as of right now in with Logan Martin the second place with two riders left to go so if your riders left to go we know that Colt walkers on a walk out of here with a medal the question is what color is it going to be is our final two riders still on Benna Wallace or silver medalist from the last year @f gave off and he currently 57 plates position Ben Wallace is going to have to bring out that huge air that he is known for and connect all the trick and looking to see some interesting calm without his guidance massive reach if you look back over the first when he's got good speed going into the triple tail applause I would not get his feet back on with the oh and he's still continuing the course good spirits on that one so I would speed over that last set habits in the mud with some lip tricks on that quarter pipe oh yeah you know what that's part of the speed everything has to be positioned you know it's like a chess match against yourself you have to be able to conquer all the obstacles in a way you know there's three jumps that you have to land perfect on to continue and get your best score so here's the triple tail of coming around he had good speed for it as you call it the pipe she called it a little leaning back so it couldn't get to the pedal straightaway and that's a caution that you have to put a speed down in this one taking another look at it here yeah it's amazing it really is so look at the bike as is so far in front of me could not get it back underneath of them so we had set up for you know just landing safely and not falling down by putting Mesquite continue on so he's going to have to stick with this for a short score that will keep them in seventh than with water rider who left to go that means with the Copeland water as well as Logan Martin on the podium Kyle Baldock is sitting in the bronze medal position as of right now but it all comes down to this final run last rider to go here is fruit of the Loom BMX dirt final there's your current leader and X Games rookie that limits report no rookie has taken dirt bolts and all the way back in 2001 but this is your defending gold medalist so it comes down to this lap rod right here as we bring in Kevin Peraza this use moment for Kevin he's coming home for that win yesterday he's got momentum less you can continue on rich details the perfect inverse go over that loans are problem oh and he is well loops out on the landing blue salad out and that means told the walker the youngest BMX athlete at X Games Minneapolis the rookie takes to the gold medal first time a rookie doing dirt since 2001 the last time a rookies meddled and dirt at all goes back to 2006 Anthony Napolitan but man wanted afternoon for that young man right there unbelievable I am so proud of Cole Walker I've been following his career so he came in I've been such a fan of his riding and look at it pays off today the biggest win of his career has to be look at him he is so this moment right here is something that he will never forget for the rest of his life to the family as well the Walker of the Walker family rolling deep out here at X Games in Minneapolis they were all the fans used to be for far as they were all wearing white t-shirts a couple of rows back off the parkour split man what a great performance by him and that and that has to feel absolutely amazing right now but taking a look at your final standings here from a fruit of the Loom BMX dirt final Kyle baldock taking a bronze medal here Logan Martin with the silver and the rookie comes in and takes the gold medal here with the 93 flat and that wasn't rel number 2 and that one was able to hold up through the rest of ground - as well as that third and final round of competition let's send it down down to Brian Kachinsky who's with our winner all right we're here with gold medalist in X Games dirt Colton Walker Colton how does a kid from a small town in Wisconsin end up winning X Games gold here in Minneapolis I just I put my heart and soul into this sport my favorite thing ever in the world and I can't explain to you how it feels right now win a gold medal on my perk here at X Games I just used a dream come true I think all honestly think if your guys energy and gave me the ability to do this and I can't believe right now well amazing job you're dominant today Congrats buddy I'm proud of you just to give you the enormity of that moment did you see the look on his face oh what a summer he's having he's coming off of a win at the triple event at the natural world games at two years in a row at that event for him and then he comes in here and gets the big win at X Games Minneapolis and deservedly so with that monster score of 93 flat right now let's check out today's breathable moment brought to you by Fruit of the Loom all right so here it is cold Walker with his exclamation point is running the flared day with two parts been perfectly executed that it starts a difficult technical trick but it does not face cold water he was able to come in and stop it today you're prone of everyone I just looked hit look at the reaction on his face he cannot believe it his rookie X Games appearance and walked out of here with a gold medal and what a performance here by all 10 of these riders I mean most of these guys that are run through an opening qualifier earlier in the week and if that was a daunting task in itself just to make it here to the final Scottie oh absolutely these guys put their all into as you could say his heart and soul went into this event right here every one of them they try their hardest so congratulation
