[Music] we all need strength from god in our lives and i believe there are three main reasons why we should be seeking strength from above each and every day the first being to stand to stand firm when the enemy attacks this means that when we see trouble heading our way we don't turn the other way and run we don't call our neighbors or our parents looking for a place to run and hide we need strength from the lord to stand and to stand firm in faith [Music] to stand firm in the belief that when the enemy comes in like a flood the spirit of the lord will lift up a standard against him secondly we need strength from god to withstand the enemy's attacks when they do come we might be under attack for a season it could be a health crisis it could be financial it could be marital or many different reasons but we should be completely focused on the lord because he is the one that will grant us the strength to endure the strength to withstand that season of attack or difficulty and finally i believe that we need strength from the lord in order to overcome and gain the victory so i encourage you to rely on god's strength we need to stand firm in faith in order for us to be unshakable and to do so we must be rooted in jesus christ as believers when we see the devil attack we do not and should not run away and hide instead we are to plant our feet in god's word and in his promises we are to put on the full armor of god and begin to declare his word first john chapter 4 verse 4 tells us that greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world we are to stand and declare romans chapter 8 verse 31 if god is for us who can be against us stand and declare romans chapter 8 verse 37 in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us we need the strength that comes only from jesus christ so that we can endure so that we can withstand or hold off and resist the onslaught of the enemy if we tried to do things with our own strength we may be successful for a day or two but eventually our flesh will fail us but when we lean on the power and might of jesus christ that's where we have an advantage that's where we can find true strength because the bible says in isaiah chapter 40 verse 29 to 31 he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall but those who hope in the lord will renew their strength they will saw on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint we need god's strength to endure because the bible says in 2 corinthians chapter 12 verse 9 and 10 but he said to me my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness therefore i will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that christ's power may rest on me that is why for christ's sake i delight in weaknesses in insults in hardships in persecutions in difficulties for when i am weak then i am strong and finally strength that comes from jesus christ will always lead us to victory the bible says in exodus 15 verse 2 the lord is my strength and my defense he has become my salvation other translations say he has become my victory he is my god and i will praise him my father's god and i will exalt him now let us pray lord jesus help me to lean on you for strength help me to look only to you as the source of my strength father when my situation looks dim and bleak when the mountain ahead of me looks to be too great i am encouraged by your word your word that says in joshua chapter 1 verse 9 have i not commanded you be strong and courageous do not be afraid do not be discouraged for the lord your god will be with you wherever you go i will be strong and courageous because you are with me lord jesus you will cover me wherever i go you will sustain me to stand to endure and to ultimately gain victory over the devil [Music] so i speak and i declare the strength and might of jesus christ to begin operating in my life today i say that the strength of the holy spirit is active in my life and will help me to overcome nehemiah chapter 8 verse 10 says the joy of the lord is my strength so i know that i can stand strong because of the great joy that i have in you lord jesus no matter how the situation looks regardless if i don't know the outcome i have eternal hope in jesus christ he is the great assurance that i have even when things seem uncertain grant me divine strength in every season of my life lord when i encountered times that are difficult [Music] give me the strength to from your love romans 8 35 says who shall separate us from the love of christ shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword thank you lord for reassuring me that nothing will be able to separate me from you thank you lord for reassuring me that your love is strong and it is unbreakable i am so grateful for your care i pray that you would grant me strength in something that you cannot earn or pay for grace is god giving us what we do not deserve and i wonder how many of us really understand the magnitude and wonder of god's grace his amazing grace the grace of the lord is something we should never take for granted and so beloved personally i think of his grace over my life his goodness and mercy all of which are totally undeserved but he still freely gives all i can say is thank you lord jesus christ it's by his grace that i am here today it's by the grace of jesus christ that i am in good health i haven't done anything to deserve it i've done nothing to be worthy of such favor but in his mercy in his love and by his grace i have strength in my body i have breath in my lungs it's by god's grace that i am filled with joy and hope it's by god's grace that i have peace in my heart i am grateful to the lord because if it had not been for his grace and mercy things could so easily have been tragic for me things could have so easily gone horribly wrong but in his goodness he made my crooked places straight he made a way for me when my back was against the wall i am amazed by the grace of god as i look back over my life as i look at some of the bad decisions i made some of the mistakes i made god held me and he kept me it's by his grace that nothing destroyed me it can only be his goodness that kept me from losing my mind so allow me at this moment to just praise him equally as you listen can you honestly look back at your life and not praise him look at where he brought you from look at how many times he saved you look at all the times he forgave you we need to thank him and appreciate his goodness we all have a story we all have a past yet we all have been given amazing grace i believe that his grace should also be the reason we have boldness to proclaim the gospel to the world the bible says in second timothy 1 verse 8 to 9 therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our lord nor of me his prisoner but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of god who saved us and called us to a holy calling not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace which he gave us in christ jesus before the ages began [Music] let us pray my dearest savior and lord the king of kings the lord of lords jesus christ i thank you for your grace your amazing grace that has been so good to me your grace and love is what has kept me your grace toward me is unmerited i do not deserve it but yes you gave it to me you gave it to me in abundance and i thank you lord there is nothing that i could possibly do or offer to earn your love and favor but father you have been so kind to me you've been ever so faithful nonetheless your word says my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness thank you lord jesus because of your grace i lack for nothing because even when i am weak i am strong in you lord i stand on your word and hebrews 4 verse 16 a verse that says let us thin with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need may your grace and mercy continue to surround me and lead me it's by your grace lord that i am blessed when i come in and blessed when i go out so i ask that you may stand with me and stand by my side lead me to walk with discernment and diligence in this world lead me to walk by faith and not by sight [Music] holy spirit please encircle me comfort me and hold me safe and secure in your arms help me to be bold if you are on my side then i can declare that i will not be crushed by fear and anxiety if you are with me then i can declare peace in my heart and mind [Music] i look to you as the rock of my life my fortress my strong tower and my strength when i am weak you are a sovereign god who has charge over my life and you are a god who is faithful to deliver those who trust you your word says a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand but it shall not come near you i believe this i believe that nothing no evil no darkness shall come near me because of you because of your amazing grace so i look to you a mighty god who moves mountains a god who breaks down every barrier a god who can crush the devil and remove every obstacle in my life i have the confidence that if i remain in your presence you will help me to let go of all my worries and stress help me to let go of everything i cannot control i may be limited but you are not you are a god who is in control i believe in your word which says and my god will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in christ jesus i stand on your word that says surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and i will dwell in the house of the lord forever thank you for the promises in your word promises that fill me with hope and remind me of your love the more i read your word the more my faith grows the more confidence i have the more strength i have to press forward [Music] isaiah 40 verse 31 says those who wait on the lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint i pray that you renew my strength lord renew my faith and belief so that i might face today in the authority of your word you are all-powerful lord jesus and you are a god who will never leave us nor forsake us you are holy and worthy to be praised thank you for listening to my prayer in jesus name i pray amen [Music] one of our biggest resources as christians is prayer prayer for us as believers is power it's our lifeline and a powerful resource that allows us to knock on heaven's door and reach the ears of god and throughout the bible there have been many men and women who have all tapped into the power of prayer their situations might have been different their circumstances might have also been different but the one thing that they had in common is that they prayed for example the bible says in first chronicles chapter 4 verse 10 and jabez called on the god of israel saying o that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory that your hand would be with me and that you would keep me from evil that i may not cause pain so god granted him what he requested the bible goes on when speaking of hannah and it says in first samuel chapter 1 verse 10 and she was in bitterness of soul and prayed to the lord and wept in anguish [Music] when hezekiah fell ill the bible says in second kings chapter 20 verse 2 and 3 then he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the lord saying please lord just remember how i have walked before you wholeheartedly and in truth and have done what is good in your sight and hezekiah wept profusely and because of his prayer the lord answered him in verse 5 saying i have heard your prayer i have seen your tears behold i am going to heal you [Music] the bible goes on to say in jonah chapter 2 verse 1 then jonah prayed to the lord his god from the fish's belly and if you look at acts chapter 16 verse 25 the bible says but at midnight paul and silas were praying and singing hymns to god and the prisoners were listening to them so you see prayer is necessary for us and the bible gives us all these different examples men and women who sought after the lord in prayer hezekiah was on his deathbed hannah was barren and in bitterness of soul the bible said paul and silas were imprisoned and jonah was under water in the belly of a fish all had very different circumstances all had very different needs but they all used the same resource that we as christians are given today they all prayed to get their breakthrough so i encourage you to pray the situation that you're in might not be exactly the same but the practice of prayer still works the command to pray without ceasing still applies to you and me today [Music] the lord still answers prayers [Music] jesus christ is indeed faithful and merciful but we also need to do our part we need to pray if you call unto the lord his word says i will show you great and mighty things which you do not know now let us pray lord jesus i give you praise and honor [Music] i glorify your name and i am thankful for your goodness give me grace in my prayer life lord strengthen me to pray with fervency to pray with boldness and faith strengthen my prayer life today lord [Music] the bible tells me that while jesus was on this earth he prayed he prayed in the morning he prayed often he would separate himself from those around him just to pray [Music] i pray that i would have the same discipline i pray that i would have the same heart of prayer lead me to have a strong desire to seek after you day and night may prayer become a habit may it become a routine and a lifestyle lead me to be a believer whose first reaction is to turn to the lord in prayer if i am struggling may the holy spirit remind me to pray before i seek a solution elsewhere in the bible there are many occasions lord where you have demonstrated your love and grace to answer prayers i look at the example of daniel he prayed and kept praying until he got an answer his prayer was so consistent that you lord dispatched an archangel to make sure that no principality no demon on this earth could block the answer to daniel's prayers [Music] father give me that same relentless spirit of prayer may i keep pressing on may i keep fighting the battle on my knees until i receive my breakthrough father i understand that a prayerless christian is powerless a prayerless christian is disconnected to their only source of power which is you lord so i ask that the holy spirit would be my strength to help me to pray often and to pray relentlessly help me to be diligent and alert so that i won't allow anything or anyone to distract or disturb my prayer time i thank you lord jesus for the victory that you have given me when i call on your name i refuse to leave the door open to the kingdom of darkness let me be covered by your blood let me be shielded by my prayers to you lord so may you release an unquenchable desire within my heart to pray always make me a prayer warrior in your kingdom a prayer warrior who is dedicated and committed to maintaining a close relationship with you grant me the strength and the discipline to get on my knees before i start my day likewise grant me the strength and discipline to get on my knees at the end of my day and give you thanks acts chapter 2 verse 17 says and it shall come to pass in the last days says god that i will pour out my spirit on all flesh your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your young men shall see visions your old men shall dream dreams may you pour out your spirit over my life lord may you revive my prayer life may you birth in me a new passion i desire to experience your presence don't pass me by without pouring out your spirit over my life and my home i pray that i may be sensitive to the voice of the holy spirit when it leads me to pray [Music] help me to make sure that my schedule is never too busy that i would miss a divine appointment with you but instead i pray and i declare that you will always be the priority in my life lord i pray that you would touch my life today [Music] may there be a revival within me a renewal within my spirit i bless your holy name for listening to this prayer in the mighty and precious name of jesus christ i pray [Music] amen let's get back to basics today as christians we can sometimes be so concerned about doctrine we can sometimes get so wrapped up in theology and denominations that we forget the simple fact that jesus christ should be the be all and end-all in our lives the bible says in titus chapter 3 verse 9 but avoid foolish disputes genealogies contentions and strivings about the law for they are unprofitable and useless the truth in this verse is amazing it profits us nothing to argue whether we are living in the 11th hour or not it profits us nothing to argue whether we should follow the old testament literally or follow the new testament the main thing that will profit us and our souls is if we are living right before the lord do we have a personal relationship with jesus christ does he have the throne to our hearts are we committed and faithful to the kingdom of god that is what's important our souls the state of our hearts our relationship with jesus christ that's what matters and so with that being said i would like to remind you of a simple set of requirements that we are to live by a set of rules that are meant to govern us these should be the very basic foundation of our faith and these are the ten commandments in exodus 20 the bible says in verse 3 and 4 you shall have no other gods before me you shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth verses 7 and 8 say you shall not take the name of the lord your god in vain for the lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain remember the sabbath day to keep it holy verses 12 to say honor your father and mother that your days may be long in the land that the lord your god is giving you you shall not murder you shall not commit adultery you shall not steal you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor you shall not covet your neighbor's house you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that is your neighbor's let's not forget the basics of our faith saints the ten commandments are just as relevant today as they were hundreds of years ago [Music] now let us pray lord jesus i come before you today asking that you would create a clean heart within me i pray that my heart may not be hardened to your voice i pray that my heart may be sensitive to your call king jesus may i be a person who is unconcerned and unbothered by foolish worldly arguments that don't profit me in any way help me to be diligent and not to waste time and effort in meaningless disputes that won't benefit me instead i pray that my focus would be solely on you may i be dedicated committed and devoted to you and you alone king jesus may i be obedient to your word which says in exodus 15 verse 26 if you will diligently listen to the voice of the lord your god and do that which is right in his eyes and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes i will put none of these diseases on you that i put on the egyptians for i am the lord your healer i pray that my actions may be right in your eyes may i give ear to your commandments and keep them in my heart father god you are the great i am you are the one true living god and i rebuke anything in my life that tries to exalt itself above you i refuse to have any idols in my life jesus you are lord in my life jesus christ alone is king [Music] may i not take your name in vain lord may i love my neighbor and not bear any false witness against my neighbor remove from me any jealousy or envy i pray that my satisfaction can only be found in you and in your presence may i be content with all that you have blessed me with you are all that i need and all that i want in you i am complete i am made whole you fill every void and you mend every wound i pray that i may have a heart that is obedient to you a heart that loves you with all of my soul all of my mind and being give me that grace to live this life in a manner pleasing to you strengthen me so that i will not be swayed or turned by the things of this world instead may i be a doer of the word and not just a hearer father light a fire within me let me not be lukewarm but i desire to burn for you jesus set my faith ablaze so that your presence in my life may be clear for all to see father your word says in romans chapter 6 verse 14 for sin will have no dominion over you since you are not under law but under grace i declare that no temptation will overtake me because i have been given divine strength to overcome in jesus name remove any marks any residue of sin within my life purify me heavenly father may the fruit of the spirit shine through in my life good fruit that is love joy peace patience kindness goodness and faithfulness father your word is profitable for teaching for reproof for correction and for training in righteousness so i pray that your word may be hidden in my heart so that i may obey your commandments and not sin against you you are the most high god worthy to be reverenced and adored be lifted high lord be lifted high i pray that philippians 1 verse 6 may be true in my life because your word says and i am sure of this that he who began a good you they have their reward but you when you pray go into your room and when you have shut your door pray to your father who is in the secret place and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly saints of god i encourage you to find a quiet place to pray that is your own find a prayer closet find a quiet place where you can be alone with the lord a place to meet with your heavenly father in secret away from the constant notifications of a cell phone away from the endless chatter of the television and away from the interruptions of friends and family members [Music] the bible says when you pray go into your room and when you have shut your door pray to your father who is in the secret place and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly i believe that the bible tells us to pray in this manner because we need to respect our time with god we need to give him his due our prayer time ought to be sacred we need to give god honor by shutting off the world and focusing purely on him i change my own prayer life by treating it as a divine appointment with the lord no interruptions no distractions just time alone with jesus so here's what i would like to encourage you to do after finding a quiet place to pray begin by repenting begin by confessing your sins and asking for the lord to have mercy on you because none of us are perfect as humans we sin knowingly and sometimes unknowingly so be mindful of that and then move to ask the lord to show you if there is anything in your heart in your life that is hindering your walk with him pray from psalms 139 verse 23 to 24 which says search me o god and know my heart try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting jesus spoke of a precious promise belonging to those who have a pure heart in matthew 5 verse 8 which says blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see god don't you desire to see god don't you desire to see his hand move and work in your life don't you desire to see his goodness his protection and favor all at work in your life so i encourage you to begin treating your prayer time as a divine appointment with the lord now let us pray lord there is no greater privilege than being loved by you there is no greater privilege than your mercy and goodness my prayer today lord is that i may be conscious and sensitive about giving you my full undivided attention may the holy ghost tug at my heart and remind me that my prayer time with you is sacred my prayer time is important and worth me finding a place far away from distractions so that i can be fully immersed in your love and in your presence your word in psalms 24 3 to 4 says who shall ascend the hill of the lord and who shall stand in his holy place he who has clean hands and a pure heart who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully help me holy spirit to always go before the lord and ask for his mercy and forgiveness so that i can pray with clean hands and a pure heart let my soul not be attached or linked to anything that is false in jesus name lord you are my shield and defense your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path do not let me stumble o lord overthrow the plans and the plots of my enemies and help me to overcome in the name of jesus fight my battles lord as you have promised in your word you said in exodus 14 14 that the lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace i pray that you defend me and my family and let us hold your peace i pray that we are going to stand still to see the hand of god move in our lives in the name of jesus christ that we will stand and testify and say had it not been of the lord we would have been consumed i come to you my time of need lord give me strength in my day of trouble i thank you for listening to my prayer in the mighty name of jesus christ i pray [Music] amen grace grace to me is being gifted with something that you cannot earn or pay for grace is god giving us what we do not deserve and i wonder how many of us really understand the magnitude and wonder of god's grace his amazing grace the grace of the lord is something we should never take for granted and so beloved personally i think of his grace over my life his goodness and mercy all of which are totally undeserved but he still freely gives all i can say is thank you lord jesus christ it's by his grace that i am here today it's by the grace of jesus christ that i am in good health i haven't done anything to deserve it i've done nothing to be worthy of such favor but in his mercy in his love and by his grace i have strength in my body i have breath in my lungs it's by god's grace that i am filled with joy and hope it's by god's grace that i have peace in my heart i am grateful to the lord because if it had not been for his grace and mercy things could so easily have been tragic for me things could have so easily gone horribly wrong but in his goodness he made my crooked places straight he made a way for me when my back was against the wall i am amazed by the grace of god as i look back over my life as i look at some of the bad decisions i made some of the mistakes i made god held me and he kept me it's by his grace that nothing destroyed me it can only be his goodness that kept me from losing my mind so allow me at this moment to just praise him equally as you listen can you honestly look back at your life and not praise him look at where he brought you from look at how many times he saved you look at all the times he forgave you we need to thank him and appreciate his goodness we all have a story we all have a past yet we all have been given amazing grace i believe that his grace should also be the reason we have boldness to proclaim the gospel to the world the bible says in 2 timothy 1 verse 8 to 9 therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our lord nor of me his prisoner but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of god who saved us and called us to a holy calling not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace which he gave us in christ jesus before the ages began let us pray my dearest savior and lord the king of kings the lord of lords jesus christ i thank you for your grace your amazing grace that has been so good to me your grace and love is what has kept me your grace toward me is unmerited i do not deserve it but yes you gave it to me you gave it to me in abundance and i thank you lord there is nothing that i could possibly do or offer to earn your love and favor but father you have been so kind to me you have been ever so faithful nonetheless your word says my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness thank you lord jesus because of your grace i lack for nothing because even when i am weak i am strong in you lord i stand on your word and hebrews 4 verse 16 a verse that says let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need may your grace and mercy continue to surround me and lead me it's by your grace lord that i am blessed when i come in and blessed when i go out so i ask that you may stand with me and stand by my side lead me to walk with discernment and diligence in this world lead me to walk by faith and not by sight [Music] holy spirit please encircle me comfort me and hold me safe and secure in your arms help me to be bold if you are on my side then i can declare that i will not be crushed by fear and anxiety if you are with me then i can declare peace in my heart and mind [Music] i look to you as the rock of my life my fortress my strong tower and my strength when i am weak you are a sovereign god who has charge over my life and you are a god who is faithful to deliver those who trust you your word says a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand but it shall not come near you i believe this i believe that nothing no evil no darkness shall come near me because of you because of your amazing grace so i look to you a mighty god who moves mountains a god who breaks down every barrier a god who can crush the devil and remove every obstacle in my life i have the confidence that if i remain in your presence you will help me to let go of all my worries and stress help me to let go of everything i cannot control i may be limited but you are not you are a god who is in control i believe in your word which says and my god will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in christ jesus i stand on your word that says surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and i will dwell in the house of the lord forever thank you for the promises in your word promises that fill me with hope and remind me of your love the more i read your word the more my faith grows the more confidence i have the more strength i have to press forward [Music] isaiah 40 verse 31 says those who wait on the lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint i pray that you renew my strength lord renew my faith and belief so that i might face today in the authority of your word you are all-powerful lord jesus and you are a god who will never leave us nor forsake us you are holy and worthy to be praised thank you for listening to my prayer in jesus name i pray amen [Music] one of our biggest resources as christians is prayer prayer for us as believers is power it's our lifeline and a powerful resource that allows us to knock on heaven's door and reach the ears of god and throughout the bible there have been many men and women who have all tapped into the power of prayer their situations might have been different their circumstances might have also been different but the one thing that they had in common is that they prayed for example the bible says in first chronicles chapter 4 verse 10 and jabez called on the god of israel saying oh that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory that your hand would be with me and that you would keep me from evil that i may not cause pain so god granted him what he requested the bible goes on when speaking of hannah and it says in first samuel chapter 1 verse 10 and she was in bitterness of soul and prayed to the lord and wept in anguish [Music] when hezekiah fell ill the bible says in second kings chapter 20 verse 2 and 3 then he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the lord saying please lord just remember how i have walked before you wholeheartedly and in truth and have done what is good in your sight and hezekiah wept profusely and because of his prayer the lord answered him in verse 5 saying i have heard your prayer i have seen your tears behold i am going to heal you [Music] the bible goes on to say in jonah chapter 2 verse 1 then jonah prayed to the lord his god from the fish's belly and if you look at acts chapter 16 verse 25 the bible says but at midnight paul and silas were praying and singing hymns to god and the prisoners were listening to them so you see prayer is necessary for us and the bible gives us all these different examples men and women who sought after the lord in prayer hezekiah was on his deathbed hannah was barren and in bitterness of soul the bible said paul and silas were imprisoned and jonah was underwater in the belly of a fish all had very different circumstances all had very different needs but they all used the same resource that we as christians are given today they all prayed to get their breakthrough so i encourage you to pray the situation that you're in might not be exactly the same but the practice of prayer still works the command to pray without ceasing still applies to you and me today the lord still answers prayers [Music] jesus christ is indeed faithful and merciful but we also need to do our part we need to pray if you call unto the lord his word says i will show you great and mighty things which you do not know now let us pray [Music] lord jesus i give you praise and honor i glorify your name and i am thankful for your goodness give me grace in my prayer life lord strengthen me to pray with fervency to pray with boldness and faith strengthen my prayer life today lord [Music] the bible tells me that while jesus was on this earth he prayed he prayed in the morning he prayed often he would separate himself from those around him just to pray i pray that i would have the same discipline i pray that i would have the same heart of prayer lead me to have a strong desire to seek after you day and night may prayer become a habit may it become a routine and a lifestyle lead me to be a believer whose first reaction is to turn to the lord in prayer if i am struggling may the holy spirit remind me to pray before i seek a solution elsewhere in the bible there are many occasions lord where you have demonstrated your love and grace to answer prayers i look at the example of daniel he prayed and kept praying until he got an answer his prayer was so consistent that you lord dispatched an archangel to make sure that no principality no demon on this earth could block the answer to daniel's prayers [Music] father give me that same relentless spirit of prayer may i keep pressing on may i keep fighting the battle on my knees until i receive my breakthrough father i understand that a prayerless christian is powerless a prayerless christian is disconnected to their only source of power which is you lord so i ask that the holy spirit would be my strength to help me to pray often and to pray relentlessly help me to be diligent and alert so that i won't allow anything or anyone to distract or disturb my prayer time i thank you lord jesus for the victory that you have given me when i call on your name i refuse to leave the door open to the kingdom of darkness let me be covered by your blood let me be shielded by my prayers to you lord so may you release an unquenchable desire within my heart to pray always make me a prayer warrior in your kingdom a prayer warrior who is dedicated and committed to maintaining a close relationship with you grant me the strength and the discipline to get on my knees before i start my day likewise grant me the strength and discipline to get on my knees at the end of my day and give you thanks acts chapter 2 verse 17 says and it shall come to pass in the last days says god that i will pour out my spirit on all flesh your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your young men shall see visions your old men shall dream dreams may you pour out your spirit over my life lord may you revive my prayer life may you birth in me a new passion i desire to experience your presence don't pass me by without pouring out your spirit over my life and my home i pray that i may be sensitive to the voice of the holy spirit when it leads me to pray [Music] help me to make sure that my schedule is never too busy that i would miss a divine appointment with you but instead i pray and i declare that you will always be the priority in my life lord i pray that you would touch my life today may there be a revival within me a renewal within my spirit i bless your holy name for listening to this prayer in the mighty and precious name of jesus christ i pray [Music] amen [Music] let's get back to basics today as christians we can sometimes be so concerned about doctrine we can sometimes get so wrapped up in theology and denominations that we forget the simple fact that jesus christ should be the be-all and end-all in our lives the bible says in titus chapter 3 verse 9 but avoid foolish disputes genealogies contentions and strivings about the law for they are unprofitable and useless the truth in this verse is amazing it profits us nothing to argue whether we are living in the 11th hour or not it profits us nothing to argue whether we should follow the old testament literally or follow the new testament the main thing that will profit us and our souls is if we are living right before the lord do we have a personal relationship with jesus christ does he have the throne to our hearts are we committed and faithful to the kingdom of god that is what's important our souls the state of our hearts our relationship with jesus christ that's what matters and so with that being said i would like to remind you of a simple set of requirements that we are to live by a set of rules that are meant to govern us these should be the very basic foundation of our faith and these are the ten commandments in exodus 20 the bible says in verse 3 and 4 you shall have no other gods before me you shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth verses 7 and 8 say you shall not take the name of the lord your god in vain for the lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain remember the sabbath day to keep it holy verses 12 to 17 say honor your father and mother that your days may be long in the land that the lord your god is giving you you shall not murder you shall not commit adultery you shall not steal you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor you shall not covet your neighbor's house you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that is your neighbor's let's not forget the basics of our faith saints the ten commandments are just as relevant today as they were hundreds of years ago now let us pray lord jesus i come before you today asking that you would create a clean heart within me i pray that my heart may not be hardened to your voice i pray that my heart may be sensitive to your call king jesus may i be a person who is unconcerned and unbothered by foolish worldly arguments that don't profit me in any way help me to be diligent and not to waste time and effort in meaningless disputes that won't benefit me instead i pray that my focus would be solely on you may i be dedicated committed and devoted to you and you alone king jesus may i be obedient to your word which says in exodus 15 verse 26 if you will diligently listen to the voice of the lord your god and do that which is right in his eyes and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes i will put none of these diseases on you that i put on the egyptians for i am the lord your healer i pray that my actions may be right in your eyes may i give ear to your commandments and keep them in my heart father god you are the great i am you are the one true living god and i rebuke anything in my life that tries to exalt itself above you i refuse to have any idols in my life jesus you are lord in my life jesus christ alone is king [Music] may i not take your name in vain lord may i love my neighbor and not bear any false witness against my neighbor remove from me any jealousy or envy i pray that my satisfaction can only be found in you and in your presence may i be content with all that you have blessed me with you are all that i need and all that i want in you i am complete i am made whole you fill every void and you mend every wound i pray that i may have a heart that is obedient to you a heart that loves you with all of my soul all of my mind and being give me that grace to live this life in a manner pleasing to you strengthen me so that i will not be swayed or turned by the things of this world instead may i be a doer of the word and not just a hearer father light a fire within me let me not be lukewarm but i desire to burn for you jesus set my faith ablaze so that your presence in my life may be clear for all to see father your word says in romans chapter 6 14 for sin will have no dominion over you since you are not under law but under grace i declare that no temptation will overtake me because i have been given divine strength to overcome in jesus name remove any marks any residue of sin within my life purify me heavenly father may the fruit of the spirit shine through in my life good fruit that is love joy peace patience kindness goodness and faithfulness father your word is profitable for teaching for reproof for correction and for training in righteousness so i pray that your word may be hidden in my heart so that i may obey your commandments and not sin against you you are the most high god worthy to be reverenced and adored be lifted high lord be lifted high i pray that philippians 1 verse 6 may be true in my life because your word says and i am sure of this that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of jesus christ i bless your name thank you for listening to this prayer in jesus mighty name i pray amen and amen [Music] the bible says in matthew chapter 6 verse 5 to 6 and when you pray you shall not be like the hypocrites for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets that they may be seen by men assuredly i say to you they have their reward but you when you pray go into your room and when you have shut your door pray to your father who is in the secret place and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly saints of god i encourage you to find a quiet place to pray that is your own find a prayer closet find a quiet place where you can be alone with the lord a place to meet with your heavenly father in secret away from the constant notifications of a cell phone away from the endless chatter of the television and away from the interruptions of friends and family members [Music] the bible says when you pray go into your room and when you have shut your door pray to your father who is in the secret place and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly i believe that the bible tells us to pray in this manner because we need to respect our time with god we need to give him his due reverence our prayer time ought to be sacred we need to give god honor by shutting off the world and focusing purely on him i changed my own prayer life by treating it as a divine appointment with the lord no interruptions no distractions just time alone with jesus so here's what i would like to encourage you to do after finding a quiet place to pray begin by repenting begin by confessing your sins and asking for the lord to have mercy on you because none of us are perfect as humans we sin knowingly and sometimes unknowingly so be mindful of that and then move to ask the lord to show you if there is anything in your heart in your life that is hindering your walk with him pray from psalms 139 verse 23 to 24 which says search me o god and know my heart try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting jesus spoke of a precious promise belonging to those who have a pure heart in matthew 5 verse 8 which says blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see god don't you desire to see god don't you desire to see his hand move and work in your life don't you desire to see his goodness his protection and favor all at work in your life so i encourage you to begin treating your prayer time as a divine appointment with the lord now let us pray lord there is no greater privilege than being loved by you there is no greater privilege than your mercy and goodness my prayer today lord is that i may be conscious and sensitive about giving you my full undivided attention may the holy ghost tug at my heart and remind me that my prayer time with you is sacred my prayer time is important and worth me finding a place far away from distractions so that i can be fully immersed in your love and in your presence your word in psalms 24 3 to 4 says who shall ascend the hill of the lord and who shall stand in his holy place he who has clean hands and a pure heart who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully help me holy spirit to always go before the lord and ask for his mercy and forgiveness so that i can pray with clean hands and a pure heart let my soul not be attached or linked to anything that is false in jesus name lord you are my shield and defense your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path do not let me stumble o lord overthrow the plans and the plots of my enemies and help me to overcome in the name of jesus fight my battles lord as you have promised in your word you said in exodus 14 14 that the lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace i pray that you defend me and my family and let us hold your peace i pray that we are going to stand still to see the hand of god move in our lives in the name of jesus christ that we will stand and testify and say had it not been of the lord we would have been consumed i come to you seeking refuge and protection i come to you in recognition of your great might and power i worship your holy name lord i adore you lord jesus i thank you father god for clothing me in a robe of righteousness that covers me head to toe because of the blood of jesus christ which was shed for me and i know that it's in you that i live it's in you that i move and have my existence [Music] i surrender my life my children and my loved ones into your caring hands you are a god full of compassion i pray for your hand of protection upon me and my family encompass us lord god almighty with your holy presence surround me and my family with your hedge of protection i thank you for your protection today i am grateful for your provision in my life forgive me for all of my sins have mercy on me and my family i thank you for being a god who has been faithful through the ages i ask that you put my mind at ease with everything i am facing open my eyes and help me to see your hand in every situation i'm facing let me not be unstable in my emotions father remove all stress and give me peace take all of my burdens and set me free you are the rock of all ages my strong tower and fortress lord just as you are on the throne we know everything is going to be all right you've promised to meet every need according to your glorious riches christ jesus thank you for the overcoming power and victory that comes through prayer continue to strengthen me when i am down continue to strengthen me through the tough times i remain amazed by your love and care for me therefore i bless your name with joy and thanksgiving may your presence
