you guys have begun or anyone here copra day is going well thanks for tuning in my channel here on youtube you know i ss109 and m855 has been a very popular subject lately in fact I had a couple videos already on there one of which talks about the call to action on what we can do maybe to help stop this ban from happening with that mean 55 that's the phone line and the other one is basically some tips on how to avoid getting scammed by some of the people out there they want to make money off of you know this this Ron that I made 55 you know some people out there might be painting the tips on the m193 ammo and trying to pass it off as the m855 so that video gives you some ideas on how to avoid that from happening how to stay away from getting scammed today I'm just gonna talk about an option for you guys out there that are still looking for some 8/5 m855 and maybe you don't want to pay the super high absorbent prices or you can't find it because it's sold out in an area or whatever one other option is especially if you're into reloading and if you're not maybe it would be a bad idea to pixel this up is to find some ss109 or I'm 855 bullets and they are available slow out there they maybe give them a bit harder find right now these right here I pull down bullet so you can see it's magnetic I picked those up from got ammo LLC you'll see the link in the bottom in the description below the video go check the company out got ammo LLC they sell a lot of great products they do carry some reloading stuff you know brass and bullets mainly they don't ship powders and primers at this time but maybe they will in the future they've got a lot of nice firearms and accessories and things that definitely check them out great company a veteran-owned good guys so take a look there site anyway if you can find these projectiles buy some especially if they're reasonably priced because then you can make your own m855 you have to worry about flying it and you don't have to necessarily spend quite as much because these projectiles are definitely be less money per round than buying a loaded cartridge and that way you can kind of store them away and we get chance to make up some all your some of your own loads with them so that's an option just want to bring that to your attention but as you can see these two their projectiles as with most of the ss109 and m855 projectiles don't have any green paint on so they're not technically green tips right well the reason why they don't have any paint on those is because after they do the pulldown process they usually run them through it like a vibrating tumbler which cleans and polishes and back up making nice shiny look look like new again and that causes the paint to get worn back off of them but some of the new production the jacked house like that the ss190 tiles m855 don't have the green paint on them at that point many different countries don't use you know color coded identified on the ammunition itself to let you know that it is a 1955 vs 1:09 style projectile so if you are gonna make your own and you want to do the painted green tips on them this is basically an idea what you can use to do that well first off in my hand here I got two different actual m855 rounds here the one on my right here this is a Lake City Park Trisha has Lake City brass now made here and this one is a PMC cartridge maybe kinda hard to pick up on the camera because they're kind of small you know don't like 22 caliber sort of rates small bullets which is like why is it even such a big deal if it's armor-piercing or whatever and it's not it's penetrated around there is a difference penetrator is totally different than our piercing these are not necessarily gonna go through a plate can't bring them out here the PMC one has a nice even line on the pan tip and the Lake City has more of you know it is kinda like a line but you can kind of see it's not totally straight and even cut line not a big deal just something small I noticed is in between the two now here is one that I painted myself it's a little bit brighter and shinier well that's probably because the ammunition I showed you this has been loose packed and you know tumbled around and vibrate around dreams shipping so definitely it's gonna get dollar looking and then finishing may get worn everything and this is still a little bit wet yet this paint is nice and shiny and it over time it'll probably dry out a little bit in local election on you but it's a pretty close pretty close color anyway in fact it's a testers paint you know like you're paying out your models testers a number I think it is let me look at it it's 1124 on the bottle that's the number and they call it GI green which is kind of kind of goes hand in hand with making you know this type of ammunition but anyway I'm sure there may be a faster way to apply it then just doing one cartridge at a time and using a brush I've seen some people even use like other kinds of paint like spray spraying it on you could probably even use like can use this paint in an airbrush you thin it and everything and use it like an airbrush spray it on well there's ways to to mask it you know you can make a tray with some holes in it and poke the tips through and just spray it that way that's an option but I don't know I don't really feel like investing any money into a do i airbrush setup right now one other idea saw which I thought was kind of cool and this may work even as the best option is it take like a sharpie maybe not a black sharpie though maybe a green sharpie base to make a hole in the back so you can dump paint into it cut the felt tip on it and then you can actually just go ahead and you know press the bullet tip into the tip of the pant pin there and it'll give a nice even coat because it's already like a predetermined depth you just basically blot it right on to the cartridge right under the tip the bullet that's the thought and then interrupts my own video here real quick so after I got done you know filling this first part of it I was kind of thinking of other ways to apply this paint a little faster and a little more even I ended up thinning the paint a little bit and basically just dunking the tips right into the jar and then lightly dabbing I'm against the side of the jar to get the excess off and you know want to thin it too much because then the paint just runs all over the place like water but that seems to work pretty well nice even coat again this is really extra shiny because it's wet yeah it's wet paint but it's much more even line so yeah I think might be a good method anyway back to the rest of the video guys yeah I'm not gonna give any party powder charges or anything like that on this and these come out pretty decent they came out pretty close to to what the real Lake City loaded animal looks like of course you don't see the annealing because I didn't have these realtor anything like that but you can get the brass that's already kneeled and has the you know discoloration on the tip that part or the cartridge or the case itself but I did use Lake City brass you might notice to you that the Candler looks like Center in position well my brass here is trimmed a little bit thinner than the brass here a little bit shorter I should say then the brass on the Lake City so that's kind of why but also I do have an overall length that's a little bit increased but I'm I'm working up loads on it right now for myself so but I'm not gonna share the load data with you guys with that stuff because you know I don't want to be responsible for somebody blowing up their firearm because they did something that they thought would work and it didn't work for them because every rifle is a little bit different so be cautious with that but there's plenty of information out there on the internet to kind of give you an idea where to start with it that's all I can pretty much say on that so so next time go out and have some fun shooting
