all right I have 15 three-quarter inch pieces of standard pine construction board spaced approximately one inch apart from each other give or take a little bit of slop they're constructed this over a two hour period I forgot they turn the air off in the shop so I had to to pilot drill and screw every one of these that you see here it's not too bad some of the boards slide in and out but we'll take a shot with some of our five five six against this I don't know if I have enough wood here to stop it we're gonna find out since these shots are pretty crucial we'll take one shot and then go talk and see what it did we have our brown box IMI m193 first from the ten and a half inch barrel hopefully the chronograph decides to read velocity 26:56 take this test entirely separate from the fort scott test depending on how long it is but here is our entrance this is pretty cool it penetrate one two three four five six on the seventh board it's starting to go sideways here's number eight you can see the bullets is tumbling going and not flying straight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen it actually is stopped 15th pine board it's stuck up in there interesting 14 and a half boards with the m193 you can kind of see the back side there and now we'll do our m855 this is I am I again as well 25:34 our m855 one two three four five six seven you can see it's travelling upwards eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen and it popped out of plywood there at 13 you can see that it's oblong there see if we can find out pretty early on that's number four and in the fifth one it's starting to upset and it's not fly straight anymore we have enough left we'll take a lower shot and see if it out penetrates the m193 I'm gonna guess it would let's move on to the m855a1 and now our m855a1 25:34 there's actually smoke coming off the wood now I shot nice and low on the m855a1 just in case you decided to upset and go topside boards out here pretty impressive looking damage around that hole even on the second there's the third look at how big that hole is and see it's fragmenting pretty well it's number four is the backside five six oh geez seven we have to separate wound tracks going on there is the back side right there in there number eight down there and that one we still have penetration out the back right here and here number nine and there's where we stopped there is the copper slug or there's where the copper slug of the m855a1 hits there is the actual tip right there and it actually did not make it into ten so made it well I actually sorry I should sit erect myself and made it through nine there is the copper core there let's get rid some of these boards and try the Fort Scott munitions now we'll see where the 16 inch can take us unfortunately I've replaced as many boards as possible that I had brought with me so hopefully we can discern a difference between everything will do the m193 first I think you've lost your reading off that probably because it's getting cold or dark you should say here was our m193 one two three four five six boards pretty much straight line penetration number seven with our sideways oh eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen and fifteen so it's somewhere help this movie turn this over and see if I can find it now all this pine was stored inside it could be varying densities from different lot numbers but it's just 3/4 inch construction pine that you would use maybe I think it was two by twelves that I cut this from or one by twelve sorry that I cut this stuff from now our m855 photograph I don't think Sena reads anymore too dark outside they're close to sunset and we lost the Sun that we had earlier I will eat lower hope it doesn't leave this time here was the m855 we're running out of room on this piece of wood here straight line performance through one two three four five six seven eight we get to number nine we are sideways ten fully sideways eleven throwing some fragments of things around twelve interesting that we straightened out thirteen again or sideways fourteen sideways sorry about all the wing 115 sideways again and then we hit this piece of wood so sixteen we smashed into the back of our 2x2 here and we actually have a recovered bullet right down there one second here is the recovered m855 from the sixteen inch a little bendy it's still intact and now back to the m855a1 hopefully we have enough good parts of this would make this shot work next time get lots more wood and of course I put that shot right next to the m855 shot here was the m855a1 a little too close to that one probably gonna be hard to tell but we are tearing up the pine boards pretty early on lots of lots of tumbling going on their backside that's getting torn up sorry about the piece here it is again it's gonna get interesting here in a second when you see the backside of some of these panels look at that just tearing it but tearing it all up there's where we see two separate channels starting that's the m855 so that's the a1 right there again two separates backside tore it up and then there is part of the jacket and then right here in the one two three four five six seven eight nine tenth is our core right there I don't see the tip maybe it went way outside or it's buried in there same distance that it went in the SBR because there is the core right there or the imprint from the core cool well I've got this out here we're gonna shoot some SS 195 198 the 28 grain bullet of our ten and a half inch SBR below two two two two three five five six velocities see how many boards this goes through velocity 3058 here's our shot right here we are away from that knob I'm gonna probably change this panel off so we don't try to keep shooting that not this is interesting though so one two three four five six seven is our recovered bullet very limited risk there there it is pretty mangled but definitely the most shallow penetrating of the two two three five five six bullets that we've tested let's test ss190 from the five five six now we have ss190 again loaded into a five five six loading this has a steel and aluminum core velocity 2923 where's our shot right there and we went through one two three four six seven eight nine 10 11 12 13 14 15 pieces and out the back interesting that's pretty good penetration from that 31 Green bullet and it's just going straight to better you can't get those velocities from the ps90 SBR I'm curious how the IMI 77 grain razor core will do as well as the 50 grain optimized TSX will shoot the TSX first than the I am I out of the FBR velocity 2760 23:35 our TSX was right here go one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven and here is our recovered round kind of expand it a little bit pretty interesting you can see it's kind of deforming a little bit bad then our razor core is right here this one's a little interesting one two three four five six seven eight nine and then we get to the tenth one please see some disruption starting 12 13 14 15 16 and I can't find the boat I'll have a look for it these are very intriguing results I don't know how repeatable they are because again this is just pine wood 3/4 inches thick and that could vary from lot to lot maybe drop a comment below if we should continue testing different 5 5 6 or pistol rounds again see as it's called the box of truth or if there's not enough consistency enough with wood that is just kind of a shits and giggles thing you
