The Shield generator enemies [Music] and welcome to Starfield I'm going to show you and demonstrate for you how you can convert the frontier the first ship in the game to an absolute Powerhouse of a ship with as few credits as possible we're going to convert this Frontier the very basic ship that you get in the beginning and just for emphasis I have 41 000 credits and I'm level six I want to demonstrate how this is early in the game very early in the game I just got back from Crete and if you have done that mission in the beginning you'll know what I'm talking about I did spend some extra time there in order to get some extra loot got anything you need to offload to make this financially viable right here for you so let's upgrade the ship sure how about it okay so first thing we're going to do we're going to go into build mode by hitting B and I'm going to take this cockpit and we'll pull it forward take the cowling off the guns are going to stick with it and for the sake of money we're going to keep this as simple as possible oops I want that leg let's get that Shield okay so I'm gonna pull this off to the side we're gonna hit G and we're going to go to halves and you can use the dmos or you can use the Nova however there is a connection issue with the dmos um halves as far as them connecting to things in the front some things that will like the cowling for example the cowling will not connect to the demos when the demos is in the front so we're gonna go with Nova I'm going to select this engineering Bay and the reason is because you can see in the bottom of the screen it's going to give me a plus crew now for you you may not need that so you may not want that plus one crew bonus right there right from the rip and that's fine you could get away with using one of these other halves as a workshop and then you could add a Companion Way or storeroom this will turn into a store room or a companion way either one and you could have put that back here in the back or in the front um just to replace this three by one by using a two by one and this one by one so for finance purposes though what we want out of this build are the connection points so I'm going to put this tab back on there and what I mean by that are these side connection points when you build your ship out horizontally by laying these halves side by side and making your ship wider you're not increasing this number of connection points since we've gone vertical now we have these two extra connection points on the side that's very important here for what we want to accomplish with our starter ship so I'm gonna take this gas tank I'm gonna throw it back on there I'm actually going to move it forward uh The Shield I'm going to put it uh where are we going to put the shield we're going to put the shield up a little bit I'm gonna hit R yeah let's put it yeah let's put it there and for now I'm going to delete this let's put our cockpit back on we have the Magellan C2 the Nova cowling has got our gun mounts on it so now we still basically have our stock ship all we've done is added this engineering Bay to it giving us plus one crew so now we have three and at a cost of our Mobility because we've added weight our Mobility has decreased so our Mobility is directly relational to our engine power uh but let's not quite get into editing that stuff yet because we're still shy a little bit of what we need to do here and that's because we need to increase our storage by cargo so this ballast in the back of our Landing Bay is this 100 cm ballast and it gives us 210 cargo if you have unlocked Starship design which I doubt you have especially at level six you could put this 300 CM on there and increase your cargo capacity pretty significantly just by replacing that alone this 300 cm and the 100 cm both mount on the back the 200 CM however does not mount on the back it only mounts on the side but that's fine so if we compare again this compared to these other options so the 200 cm is 245 storage and it's at a 52 Mass we could go to 225 storage at 48 we could go to 300 storage with a weight of 64. and we can even get into these big bigger boys down here but this one is the biggest you can get to mount on the side these stick out and they look cool because they look like storage containers but for the size of our ship these are way too big as far as like aesthetically in my view you could try doing the caravel but for This ship's size you would run out of mass you would hit your mass a lot earlier which will prevent you from having good maneuverability or Mobility so the sweet spot for this one is either one of these two right here and I'm going for the bigger of the two just for the storage it's only four difference in Mass it's 20 more storage is it that big of a deal probably not so we're going to throw two of these on though hit Z to flip it so now we have our default chip that has doubled our storage now we're at 940 storage which is pretty pretty doggone effective the problem with this ship at this stage is the mobility we're only 42. so let's look at our options for this real quick we could go for the let's go to engines we could go to the ammune one engine this engine only mounts down here on the bottom like that and it's only 5660 thrust so if we added this our Mobility is only going to be going to 58 so we're at 42. so we're going to look at another option and for that I'm going to go to structural and I want to pick these bracers and I'm going to put one there put one over there and now we're gonna go back to the engines and we're going to look at these white dwarves these offer so if we compare through the Moon that we can only mount on the back it's 5660 thrusts 1550 maneuverability the white dwarf has 2445 and 46.50 now obviously there's a significant cause difference to adding both of the both of these to your ship but they are worth it so now we're spending 11 500 coin or money and our ship is 100 maneuverability as a 13 Light Year range and a mass of 679. but we have two errors what are they we're missing our Docker and we need more grab thrust okay so this grab thrust is the entry one at 13 rust so we're going to hit delete I'm going to go to braz and we're going to see this is the one we had if we jump to this one at 14 could work but we'll probably need to go to this one at 16. and we're kind of future proofing here we're going 16. there we go now we need our put our Shield there in the back because that's where it would go now we need to put our Docker on and we sold the other Docker so if we went with this one we could put this one save us money we could put it right there and we'll do that simply for the sake of saving us money so at this point in time we're at 17 000 credits roughly we've increased our cargo we've increased our crew we've increased our Mobility the only thing left now is now we have to increase our guns so right now we've made a cargo hauler which is perfectly fine at this stage in the game the guns on the ship are perfectly adequate to take you up to level 12 level 15 fighting and you will do okay in fact this would be a great place to stop if this is all the credits you have because you've accomplished getting the core elements down and now it's just a matter of weapons and shields I want to do better than okay so let's address the weapons and shields real quick and see what our options are so if I take off these cannons and we want to take off the missile launcher and we're going to take off these lasers we're going to hit G and we're going to go to weapons and out of all of these weapons you know all these are short range weapons all these lasers they're all short range the missile launchers are long range and they pack a big hit but they're not reliable plus they take a little bit of time to get to your target for me this is The Sweet Spot we could jump down to the neutron beam there we go 3500 range 2.5 fire rate but it's a Class B we can't do it it's a Class B so this one right here this is where the money is so I'm going to grab that hit G at that G again Ctrl G we need to drop down there we go do it one more time bam now for 23 000 credits you've converted this ship into a massively powerful little dude hit flightcheck I'm gonna go to weapon Tab and we're gonna assign these all to number one still gonna give us two warnings and that's because this slot on the left if we look in the upper left of the screen the second slot and the third slot for weapons doesn't have anything there it's just a warning it's not going to affect anything but that's also the intent no power distribution there now you're ready to go 23 000 credits you basically have just made this an amazingly amazingly Superior ship or just a little bit amount of money to Compound on that I want to take this so the difference between Shields let's let's address Shields real quick so let's look at the shields options here so we already have this 10s this is what we have going to the 20s is going to cost us 4 000 credits roughly it gives us 40 45 more Shield protection you have the deflector shield down here which goes to 340. it's a 700 credit difference before we do that there's one change I want to make because if we go and increase our power needs we're going to have to address this reactor right now we're generating 16 reactor power so let's delete our reactor let's hit G and look at these reactors so this is the reactor we had for 16 power there's not much of a benefit to jumping from this one to this one as far as power needs go I want this one I want the power I want the 18. that's going to be a significant chunk into our money if we jump to this level so if we keep this one and we address our our ship well first of all you can see in our power under reactor we don't have any extra bars here we have none which means we can't boost our weapons and that's something you may not know but by diverting power to your systems they perform better you can divert power to your weapons and engines you can all usually do one tick to your Shield um depending upon what kind of Shield you have but for this purpose let's take this one and delete it and go g and let's say we do the 20s and what are our warnings see we're a little close to the ship there so we're back to normal warnings so our power it could work it could work but if you have the coin upgrade upgrade your power for the sake of this I am I'm going to upgrade my power so I'm going to take this off I'm gonna go to G and we're going to go to reactor and I'm going to put the big boy on foreign by can I'm going to remove this and I'm going to go for the other one just for my own Aesthetics and we're going to put this boy on top there we go so we're at 40 000 credits roughly you could say 13 000 of which were not completely necessary but to give you the ship that's going to give you the most long-term use at this stage of the game you've just created probably the most formidable ship that you can at this level so now I'm going to paint it I'm going to make it ours so I'm going to hit J after selecting everything color one I'm going to do a muted black again another muted black for color two and color three I'm going to go red Baby Max red there we go and that is your very formidable Frontier ship upgraded not to the best that it can be but upgraded to a point where it's very very effective and can get you through pretty far into space and that's what we're going to cover next um not in the next video but that's what we're going to cover right now is I'm going to demonstrate the power and effectiveness of this very ship right here out in the world of Starfield I'm going to jump system to system increasing the level of difficulty with each system as I go just to demonstrate how far you can get with this very ship so here's the combat alright so you see all that extra power we have at the bottom so I'm going to hit alt and go to the left and I'm going to increase my weapons let's see we're gonna go to engines that'll increase our speed yep and I'm gonna leave one just for our grab grab jumps in the green yes it is and no ship repair parts all right all right we got what two contacts what a rune of 50 54. 4 now we have three contacts four thousand come on oh this is gonna hurt can tell you right now this is me no there's no finagle in this one this one's too rough ain't gonna happen so this is how far we got we are fighting level 52 54. to level 54. one little one a little one packs hard enough punch to be formidable on their own for the most part yeah this is where I call it they just get out of here so quick that's what this little ship can do this little ship can
