it's Tony from VR reviews here and in this video we're taking a look at some of my favorite mixed reality games or games that involv past through mode so pass through mode on the quest 3 does use color cameras so you do have this color pass through experience and developers have used that to mix in game elements into your environment to give this mixed reality kind of gameplay and I'm going to go through some of my favorites in this video now bearing in mind they are my favorites you might have a different selection in your top list that I haven't included here and if you do let me know what games you would include in the comment section below so this video is actually my third video focusing on mixed reality games my first two were mixed reality games and apps and experiences on the Quest 2 but some of those might still work on the quest 3 as well so if after watching this video you want to find more mixed reality experiences for your quest 3 then do go check those out I'll link those in the description below now do excuse the random open game boys and computers just lying around my recording studio they're actually part of another Channel that I do where I repair things or I try to repair things at least the channel is called just for parts has about 260 subscribers and if you want to head over there and support that channel by subscribing I'd appreciate it I'll link that channel in the description below so anyway with all of that out the way in no particular order on my favorite mixed reality experiences you can get right now for Quest 3 the first game is the game you saw at the beginning it's Thrill of the fight a boxing game that is a room scale game requires a minimum play area size of 2 m x 2 m or 6.5 ft x 6.5 it is without the doubt the best boxing game I've played on the quest it's challenging you can change the difficulty levels though if it is getting a bit too tough there are lots of opponents to fight as well as training modes and you can see the developers are really focused on authenticity with this one because this is without a doubt the most realistic VR boxing game that I've played want to say realistic of course you're not allowed to probably do this in real life to the ref and you won't be fighting zombies but when I say realistic I mean the mechanics the mechanics are really solid it feels like or almost like the real thing but even better because you don't end up with a black eye or getting knocked out it's great exercise a lot of fun and this mixed reality mode is a fantastic feature because when you're fighting a opponent you can get really absorbed into the action and it prevents you from accidentally punching your surroundings or punching someone else so having an awareness of your environment with games like this is very valuable now from one realistic sports game to another realistic sports game is 11 table tennis this is meant to be the most realistic VR table tennis game out there I haven't played all the VR table tennis games available but I can believe that because it does have fantastic physics and feels very realistic especially if you buy an add-on for your controller that emulates a pingpong paddle it feels almost like the real thing and now with this mixed reality mode you can make the table appear in your actual physical environment just adding to what is already a very realistic game I'll just quickly give an honorable mention to Miracle Paul which much like 11 table tennis you can make a pool table appear in your environment and play pool against the computer or play with up to four friends there's also ranked matches and the physics are good too so again like 11 table tennis the mixed reality feature just as to what already is a very realistic game the next game is another combat game like Thrill of the fight but this involves swords this game is broken Edge and I really like how the mixed reality mode is done it kind of looks like the virtual opponent is kind of stepping out of their world into yours to Jewel you and again like Thrill of the fight this mixed reality mode is really handy to have because it means you won't accidentally hit someone or something in your environment when you're waving your sword around as for the game itself it's not your typical hacking SL jeweling game there's a lot of depth and strategy to this game it's not just about hitting your opponent whenever your blade touches an opponent's blade it will break from the point it touches upwards each blade has its own kind of health and when your blade touches the game calcul something called awaken damage now there's a lot more to it I don't have enough time to cover everything in this video for example there are different classes that have different sets of weapons and each class has three abilities there's an edge breaker ability a Ward and a second wind the mixed reality feature is implemented well and is quite a unique jeweling game and broken Edge has a 30 minute free trial so if you're not sure if this game is for you download it try the free trial give you a taste of what to expect talk talking of free we have another Jing game that is completely free but this time it uses guns this game is blast on I've mentioned it in a previous video before blaston is such a fantastic little game for free and it has a mixed reality mode too so you can see here I'm playing online multiplayer jeweling someone really simple stuff weapons spawn around you grab the weapon shoot at your opponent Dodge their projectiles whoever's health bar gets to zero first loses and any other player wins in best of two rounds in terms of the weapon load out you get to choose what weapons spawn around you and there is a single player campaign you can earn rewards and currency and with that currency you can buy things like weapon skins Podium skins and things like that so it's not just multiplayer it's single player too but definitely multiplayer is where the most fun is at and I just can't get over the fact this is completely free I've had so much fun playing with my friends on this one with my brothers and it's a great workout too but it is is a room scale game so you do need a little bit of space around you if you want to play this one properly another game that will keep you on your toes is synth Riders it isn't free but you can get a 30 minute free trial it's a rhythm dancing exercise game there are over 68 tracks included as well as some additional ones you can get as DLC from artists such as gorillas Bruno Mars and Muse and you have to move your hands which are these different colored balls to match the balls coming towards you now right now I'm not actually playing music from the game because I don't want a copyright strike and YouTube will take away the small amount of money that I will make from this video so the music you're hearing on this video is copyright free but if you do want to see what kind of music it has download that 30-minute trial as for the Mixed reality mode I think it's pulled off fantastically well here I love the fact that you only get this Rift opening up on the wall in front of you but it's also all around the room including behind and it has this honeycomb structure and you can see as well even you can see it Glow and illuminate the edges of your walls as the different color balls come through synth Riders is one of my favorite Rhythm exercise games not only because it is a good workout and it's a lot of fun but there are a ton of different modifiers and modes to try too you can see there been a lot of attention to detail put into this one the only downside of the mix reality mode is that you can't enable it whilst in multi player it does have 10 player crossplatform multiplayer however as of the time in this video mixed reality mode does not work with [Music] that in synth Riders your hands controlled colored balls but in our next game they control something called a bladewing this is Yuki and I feel it's a game that generally tends to fly under the radar even though it's one of my favorite VR games on the quest 3 first let me explain what this game is about it's a Rog light arcade action game very simple concept going through levels of increasing difficulty defeating enemies defeating bosses as you go through you get power ups and upgrade become more powerful but each time you die you lose your powerups and have to collect them again when you start a new run I've reviewed it on my channel I'll link the video in the description below I've even done a full playthrough of one full run so you can also check that out in the description below it's really simple addictive arcade fun and what I've just described to you is the kind of main campaign Patrol mode there's also an endless mode where you fight endless ways of enemies but what I'm going to talk about today is the mixed reality mode in the mixed reality mode you control Yuki and you have to take down the evil aliens called yo-kai that come out from pool tools that spawn around your entire room it starts off fairly casual fairly easy but soon ramps up so it's good to have a decent amount of room around you so you can avoid all of the projectiles coming at you in one hand you have Yuki to shoot the aliens and avoid their projectiles and in the other hand you have a ship that can perform a special power attack you can also use it to punch aliens which comes particularly in handy when you need to disable their shield in order to destroy them with bullets so this mix reality mode just adds a new dimension to what already is an awesome game changing it up a bit now we have the cabin home Invasion if you ever played Call of Duty zombies this is like Call of Duty zombies in real life being stuck in a cabin in the woods surrounded by Evil Dead things also reminds me of the movie Evil Dead TR you map out your play space and it creates doors windows and other openings that allow zombies to come into your house and try to murder you as you go along the waves get bigger stronger tougher and you also get bigger and more powerful weapons to deal with the ever increasing hordes if you got a decent Siz play space and can really make the most of this mix real experience I would say it's probably one of the best mixed reality games you can get for your quest 3 right now the mixed reality is implemented very well so prepare to be wow also prepar to be challenged because this can be quite a tough game to complete another game that implements mixed reality really well even better I think than the cabin home invasion is Fire 2 so Spire 2 has its own single player and Co-op VR campaign but it also has this mixed reality mode which consist of a series of different missions where You' be doing stuff like downloading Intel hacking laptops or eliminating all enemies in these brief but fun little missions you'll have windows open up on your wall that you'll have to snipe from you'll see ducts that appear on the ceiling of your play space that will open up and enemies will repel down from there's trip bomb lasers that you'll have to avoid there's also voice interaction so you can actually speak to the enemies give them directions to follow like you see here put your hands up okay the one thing will remain the same give me the gun I'm going to drop it nice and slow you must not be captured probably another one of the best mixed reality experiences you can have on your quest 3 right now and of course in addition to experiencing steal action within your own home you've also got the single play and Co-op VR game modes which makes Spire 2 an easy one to recommend taking a break from games where you have to move around your house to a game where you can just sit down and take it easy this is deio I mean this is a classic game it's a fantasy board game experience that you can play C with up to four players and that's the best way to play it in my opinion I played this game when it first came out and back then it was Fant fantastic save for the fact that there weren't too many playable characters there was only one Dungeon adventure to complete and it lacked a save feature for the multiplayer mode that's now been updated you have five dungeon Adventures to complete a lot more characters and a save feature for the multiplayer mode but we're here to talk about the mixed reality mode and it works as well as you might expect for a game like this a Bard game so everything you can do with The Bard in Virtual real it you can now do in mixed reality it feels a lot more traditional playing it this way a lot more like playing an actual board game in your home but of course without all the hassle of setting up the pieces or inviting people around to play and I also like the little extra touches and attention to detail like these movable posters and objects that do nothing to affect the game play but just make the environment a bit more exciting to look at the only drawback that I would say with using mix ity with a game like Deo is that the battery does drain faster in mixed reality mode which in a game like this that requires hours to complete a campaign can mean that you have to wrap up your game sooner rather than later unless you have some kind of external battery pack or able to plug your headset in while you're playing something like that but of course like I say you do have that save feature so if you do have to stop playing before the campaign is over it's not the end of the world you can still save it and come back to it later another game that allows you to sit down relax while you play and the game that we'll finish off this video with is track craft this is an applab game and I did a video on it recently I'll link that in the description below if you want to have a more in-depth look at this game but I really enjoyed it I think it's one of my favorite mix reality games so far on the quest 3 there's also a demo you can download to try before you buy this game is great for anyone who enjoyed Hot Wheels or Micro Machines because you you get to control this very small car through a series of different tracks there are three unique track packs with over 50 predesigned levels you can unlock different our Styles and different features as you go you can also create your own tracks and that's where a lot of the fun comes in for me with this game being able to make your own creations and upload them so that others can play them you can play other people's Creations too in the future they hope to add live multiplayer as well as more tracks cars and other features so that's set to come in 2024 this game is a purely mixed reality game and these cars can actually interact with your environment so you can map your furniture your floors even your pets and children to act as obstacles for these cars to drive around and interact with or you can build a virtual track that they can drive on I really enjoy this game because there's a lot of skill based gameplay here you really have to have precise car control in order to complete the tracks and that's what makes it so much fun there's Global leaderboards as well so you get to compete with other people and try for the best time so yeah I had a blast with this one like I said give the demo a go see what you think but this has been my best mixed reality games remember I also have some other videos in this series that I've linked below so if you're after more mixed reality experiences for your quest 2 for your quest 3 check those out cuz there is uh plenty of awesome games apps and experiences to get your hand hands on so just finally if you have liked the video I'd appreciate a thumbs up and subscribe if you like this kind of content thanks for watching as always and I hope to catch you in the next [Music] one
