i want to talk this morning in that in that on that vein in that vein on that level of battling at the same time building would you say those words with me battling and building say one more time say battling and building this is what we're going to go just for another maybe 45 minutes or so or however long it takes for you to accept what the word of the lord is saying to you this morning i want to i want to draw your attention to the book of nehemiah chapter number four i want to draw your attention to nehemiah chapter number four very very very powerful story this is an episode of a man of god who have been chosen by god to remind the people of god of who they are and what they should be actively doing progressing toward as they engage in difficult moments of their lives this nehemiah powerful story i think aligns itself with who we are as the people of god and where we are going as a people of god it has been made clear to me that this guy nehemiah possessed the gift of exhortation the gift of exhortation he is a classic and practical old testament example of what i want to call an exhorter let me let me just stop right here just for a second and just let me just encourage your hearts today in the season that we're all in right now in the battling that we're engaged in the warfare that we're engaged in the findings that we're engaged in you need people around you to exhort you i can't get into amen but you need people around you who can encourage you for the past two wednesdays on my wedding wednesday morning prayer time i wanted to encourage the people and i taught people i tried to push those that are on the prayer call to go out on that day and throughout the rest of the week to encourage somebody in the lord to encourage somebody to fulfill their life's call their assignment that is attached to their lives because your assignment is a threat to the works of the enemy and you need some exhorting you need somebody to encourage you i know we can't we're not we've got our mask on but that's all right would you just just turn to somebody maybe you can throw a hit at them or throw a push at them or somebody in your home hit somebody and sell them tell them be encouraged in jesus name be encouraged in jesus name this guy nehemiah this guy nehemiah the exhorter what he did was he saw the incredible need of the people in the city of jerusalem this is what he saw he saw this this burden in jerusalem and what he did was make a long story short and we'll read it in a minute but he surveyed the damage he looked at what was happening thoroughly before speaking to the people he examined everything that was happening the threats that were coming to the people of god tobiah sam lalit all of the things that were happening to the people of god he took it all into consideration he examined it all before he began to speak to the people and when he finally called the people together the story says he was able to encourage their weak hearts this is where we got to be encouraged got to be encouraged in our hearts he and he found a way to encourage their weak hearts so that they said and this is what they said let us arise and build would you would you say like the children of god during that time would you say these words out loud with me let us arise and build come on look at your neighbor and just say it again to them let us arise and build with each potential setback this guy nehemiah decisively he made an accurate decision powerful decision to deal with the problem while exhorting the people to new courage and i saw myself in that same position as nehemiah to you the people of god after going through this pandemic and and every time you cut on the news it's the worst it's negative it's all negative no good news nowhere on the earth the only good news is in the body of christ the church of the lord jesus christ the gospel of jesus christ is still the good news y'all y'all don't know how to respond to that you don't know how to respond to that right there come on let me try one more time the only good news that we can get right now in the season that we're in on the earth is the good news of the gospel of jesus christ the word of god is still good news the word come on we need to get some good news bibles up in here the word of god is still good news whatever he says it is good whatever he says it is good whatever he says it is good whatever he says even when it hurts it's still good your mind wanted to encourage the people after examining the conditions that were surrounding them the onslaught of the enemy attacking them oh my god he still wanted to exhort them to new courage can i get somebody this morning to to make an effort to move in the direction of you acquiring new courage so say these words with me today lord i come to you as a vessel waiting to be filled by you and lord this morning i need you to specifically give me new courage what we need well that's what we need new courage man that's what we need new courage we need courage that's what we we need you need courage and this morning i hope i can give you some new coverage nehemiah chapter number four come on let's go to the word of the lord beginning at verse number 11. nehemiah chapter number four beginning at verse number 11. here's what the word of the lord says and our adversary said listen to what the adversary says they shall not know neither see till we come in the midst among them and slay them and cause the work to cease the enemy comes to steal killed and to destroy so it was in nehemiah's day verse 12 says and it came to pass that when the jews which dwelled by them came they said unto us ten times from all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you verse 13. therefore said i here's nehemiah getting all these threats but this is what he does he said i sat in the lower places behind the wall and on the higher places i even set the people he says after their families with their swords their spears and their bows you might say this is how i set the people this is what i made them do i made them set themselves in regards to their families and i didn't want them to set themselves in regards to their family in a position to fight this warfare that we're in without some elements of survival i need them to get a sword i need to get their spears watch this y'all watch this and i looked and rose up and said unto the nobles verse 14 and to the rulers and to the rest of the people this is so important y'all get this be not afraid i just need to get that in your spirit nehemiah rises up and he sees what's going on but he looks at the people he says here's the first thing i need you to get in your spirit be not afraid of them shut with me everybody i will not be afraid he says be not afraid of them this is so so incredibly powerful because he goes to the second part of this text this verse 14 he says remember the lord come on people shout with me be not afraid remember the lord turn to somebody with their face mask on and look at them and say be not afraid remember the lord i need somebody in this church to not be afraid any longer and remember the lord i need somebody in this moment to make up in your mind that you are not going to run run from the enemy anymore you're not going to let fear trap you and lock you down and shut you up and sit you down and make you incapacitated i need somebody right now to believe that you got a lord on your side you got a god on your side that you just happen to forget but today we're going to remember the lord and we're no longer going to be afraid i want about 300 people to shout remember the lord remember the lord remember the lord come on sing it raise it up in your homes remember the lord remember the lord jump up everybody i'm going to wake you up today because y'all sit really quiet and really calm like you still got fear on you i need you to jump up i need you to wave your hand around you and say no more fear no more fear no more fear say no more fear come on y'all say no more fear i need you to get active now wake yourself up wake your spirit up no more fear i know the enemy is coming in like a flood but there's a standard of god rising up in you and that is you are going to remember the lord who is on your side okay let me see seated remember the lord remember the lord remember the lord remember the lord remember the lord remember the lord remember the lord you just forgot for a moment but it's coming back now you're getting back to the place where you're supposed to be and it starts at remembering the lord who is the bible says who is terrible [Music] he's a he's a terrible lord and he will fight for you he will fight if you remember him he will step in and fight for somebody shout this battle is the lord's [Music] okay oh i'm going way too fast too soon [Music] dee don't do that yet there will be a moment though near my sense of the people all y'all that's been fearful stop it that's what he was saying stop it cut it out god has not given you the spirit of fear god is not giving you the spirit of fear god's not giving you the spirit of fear god is not giving you the spirit of fear god is not giving you the spirit of fear god is not giving you the spirit oh boy but empowering of loving of a power love and of a come on get back your power get back your love get back your sound mind come on get back your power get back your love get back just come on get back your power come on come on get your power back somebody lift your voice and say i got to get my power back got to get my power back look at your neighbor say they even excuse me for them one second i got to get my power back so i'm gonna praise and worship god not from a place of fear but a place of power i'm gonna bless his name i'm gonna bless his name at all times [Music] okay let me get [Music] nehemiah says to the people don't be afraid be not afraid remember the lord which is great and terrible and then he says and fight for your brethren your sons your daughters your wives and your houses i wish i could get some fighters in this house to come on back and get in the ring again i wish i could get some fighters in the house to get back in the ring again and swing your power to the left and to the right up and down in your house against your enemy that comes to destroy your family i wish i could get some husbands to rise up i wish i could get some wives to rise up i wish i could get some family members who are all on the i mean you're on the borderline now and you got to decide whether you're going to get in the fight or get a run away from the fight but i want to raise up somebody that will say i'm getting in this right now because the real battle is not mine anyway it's the lord's battle it's the lord's battle and he is a terrible god not terrible in the sense of losing but terrible in the sense of winning okay let me finish let me see if i can get back to this thing see what's happening is y'all are you're allowing this word this message to do to you what it was doing to me this whole week it was doing this to me the whole week i got this thing on my watch and i forgot to turn it off it's it's a it's an emergency sos 9-1-1 and so when i was shaking myself it thinks i've fallen so it responds the watch asks me are you okay and i have to press i'm okay [Music] and then it says provide some details number one i fell but i'm okay number two i did not fall so i'm gonna hit i did not fall and then i'm gonna take it off cause it thinks i'm in trouble because of the shaking [Music] so the problem is i ain't in trouble and i am shaken but this shaking is not like you think it's my no no no this is that means every now and then y'all those of you that are going through something the enemy thinks he's got you [Music] when you jump out of something he thinks you done jumped into some trouble but i wish i could get maybe a hundred people to declare i'd have jumped into some victory this morning yeah the enemy thinks he's got me locked down ah but i'm okay i wish i could get somebody to give somebody a hug and say i'm okay i may have tears running down my face but i'm okay i may have blood coming out of my body but i'm okay hey i'm okay i'm okay [Music] i'm okay [Music] sick y'all sit down just for a second oh god [Music] the thing about it is i have this app on my phone where i can go to my watch and it says emergency sos and it says hold side button to dial if i was in trouble a full detection so what i'm going to do is so that it can stop interpreting what it thinks is happening to me i'ma just press this button and turn it off so i can get my watch back i get my life back because i turned off the mechanism that thinks i'm in trouble [Music] i challenge some of y'all to turn that mechanism off that fear off fear of falling fear of failing fear missing the mark feel of hurting somebody's feeling you got to turn that thing off so you can live give somebody a high five and tell them i gotta live now i gotta live after all this corona all this stuff i gotta live yeah i gotta live now no no no no no [Music] all right look at verse 16 with me [Music] the bible says the bible says and it came to pass from that time forth that the half of my servants i'm oh god the half of my servants the half of my servants wrought in the work and the other half of them held both the spears the shields and the bows and the habergions and the rulers were behind all the house of judah verse 17 they which builded on the wall king james builded and they that bear burdens with those that laid everyone with one of his hands wrought in the work and with the other hand held a weapon half of them was working the other half was fighting half of them was working while the other half was fighting do me a favor don't do this so ahem didn't leave don't hurt but look at your neighbor and say neighbor what part of this do you play because we got to figure this out in abundant life family worship church we got to figure out who are the workers and who are the builders who are who are the ones who are engaging in warfare and who are the ones who are building uh who are the ones who are carrying the spears who are the ones that are carrying this word and hewing your way and viewing our way through whatever's coming our way where do you fit in this picture here where where do you verse 18 for the builders everyone had his sword girded about his side and so bill yeah i got my stuff and he that sounded the trumpet was by me now when i read that over and over again indeed when i read that he that had the trumpet was standing by me those who had the music the trumpet that released a sound he said i kept them by me y'all trying to figure out why we show up on this praise and worship and while it's got to be right because at some point and many after a situation that rises up in your life at some point you need to hear a particular sound [Music] and so i keep the worship close to me because at some moment i need you to raise a sound that's going to get the attention of the people of god and that sound is to summons them to come on in come on in come away from your fears come away from your doubts come away from your struggle and come on and let us gather together now let me hear some music let me hear some sound let me hear something let me hear something let me hear something sounded the trumpet those that were with me he said okay thank you and i said unto the nobles and to the rulers and to the rest of the people the work is great and large but we are separated upon the wall one far from another in what place verse 20 therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet resort ye pizza tither unto us our god because when you get here when you hear the sound of praise and worship when you hear the sound i need to do this at a praise and worship conference no i need to do this right now at our church he says in what place therefore you hear wherever you are in your mind and you're thinking when you hear the sound to worship to praise the lord he says come unto us because there look what the bible says king james our god shall fight for us when okay when we hear the sound to come to get up together to to come under one mindset when we hear the sound i'm thinking about chronicles and when the trumpeters trumpet and play the sound they they all from different tribes came together and it was when they came together that god fought for them that's why can i just give you one reason why we got to come back together in the house of russia because your praise ignites my fight you didn't get that your praise while you may do think you're doing it just for you but your praise ignites my fight your praise engages my battle and the thing that i love about the battle it is not really mine anyhow but the lord god will show up in our praise that's why the bible said he inhabits the praises of his people i dare you to get somebody a push or shove and tell them i need your praise beloved i need your praise beloved i need your worship because when we worship together god fights for allah when we worship together god fights for all of us in other words you want to get god to fight in your fight worship praise him but do don't do it from an isolated place do it from i'm just reading the scripture i'm sorry you don't like my preaching but i'm just going to stick with the word in whatever place therefore you hear the sound of the trumpet resort ye change your mind change your direction come hither tether unto us our god shall fight for us somebody say us it's about us come on help me come on we did that individual thing with the community earlier today but right now we're in an us mode come on somebody say we're in the utmo i smoked i smoked yeah you my son preached it last sunday listen if you fall if you got somebody around you you can help you back up again we need to us we need the us mentality we need to us anointing we need to us because two are better than one one shall chase a thousand but two should put ten thousand to a flight he said if you touch and agree on anything you can't do this in an isolated place you need to come out of that isolation come out of that you all know i preached it the other week you need to come out of that isolation of my i don't want nobody to know your business you ain't got that kind of business where you don't need nobody to know about you got the business of living your life and everybody's a part of your life living so you need to come out all out of that come away from that i don't want nobody to know what i'm doing well what kind of secret stuff are you doing anyway that you don't want nobody to be aware of my god aren't you aren't you aren't you done with that by this stage of your life aren't you done with playing all these tricks and playing all these games and sneaking and hiding around laying around where you shouldn't be laying around aren't you sick and tired of that aren't you ready to live a righteous life come on and you don't mind nobody everybody knowing anybody know what kind of lifestyle you live in i rebuke that spirit of isolation you don't want nobody know your business well you need to stop gambling you need with your life you don't want people to know stuff because you know it ain't right i can't get no help right now there's only a few of y'all that's clapping only a few that's shaking your head some of y'all sitting there like what are you talking about what are you what are you talking about ain't talking about me that's why i don't like coming this church anyhow you may not like it but you sure enough do need it because some of the trouble that you got yourself in you need the saints you need the prayer saints y'all hear what i'm saying some of the stuff you're in you ain't never gonna get out by yourself you have already exhausted your means anyhow you need the prayers of the righteous because the prayers of the righteous the bible says avail this much i'd rather have people knowing my business so that they can pray me out of my mess in other words instead of living in secret and get locked up in the things of the enemy and complaining every single day oh not this one no no no no i need somebody to shout no no no not me not me and then you think about it what you some kind of hoodlum or something what you do what you really running drugs what are you doing anyway that you don't want nobody this is the thing that troubles me because i know deep down inside of you you want to do right but it's just that device the divisiveness that thing in you that you haven't been able to control yet that vice that's what it was coming that vice we all got vices that's why you hide like you hide because you got a vice that you have not conquered yet but oh if you can work on getting that victory over that thing if you could just work on getting delivered from it or you'll live a better life you you'll have some joy you'll have some peace you'll have some blessed assurance oh my god you'll be better than you've ever been before oh father in the name of jesus i come against all these vices all these little hindrances all these little things these little foxes that spoil the vine i come against it in the name of jesus this little leaven that that messes up the whole love i come against it in the minds and the hearts and the lives of every person under the sound of my voice and i declare victory over it i declare victory over it i declare victory over your struggle your sexuality i declare victory over your mindset victory in the name of jesus christ i pray in the name of that you'll lay down every burden every distraction that has ripped your life for years god delivered lord deliver deliver us from evil for god is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever forever forever i need about four people to know that you can be delivered you ain't got to keep living this secret life you can be delivered so that you can live a free life because he who the sudden set free is free indeed freedom freedom freedom i declare freedom i'm off base but i declare freedom in this house freedom from these little secret sins freedom from these little secret vices in the name of jesus lord sanctify this house take the by the people of god separate them of god from that which is moral that is which is immoral that which is righteous that which is holy that which is unrighteous that which is unholy sacrifice lord clean us up clean us up so that we can live [Music] i don't know who that was for [Music] all these little secret conversations you having with yourself all because help me right now i just heard something [Music] all because the biggest struggle that you have is the struggle of your identity the reason why the enemy can keep you messed up like you are is because you haven't figured out who you are a mess that doesn't come from outside it ain't people around you people need to accept you for who you are the problem is you don't know who you are because if you knew who you were you wouldn't have to have to put on and present people an image of who you think you are tell you the devil is not after your relationships he ain't fighting you in your relationship no more he's fighting you in your identity it's about you who you are and because you don't know who you are you start living like all kinds of everybody else you do what you see people do you act like you see people act you have no concept you have no understanding of the value that god has placed inside of you you you keep selling yourself short doing the most foolish things that you ever done in your life and you know it's foolish because you know the outcome is not going to be what you really want because you don't know what the income is doing right now so you're not going to get a good picture of the outcome because the income right now what you're putting in yourself identifying who you really are is a struggle for you who am i talking to what this isn't even in the notes let me get back to my notes cause y'all gonna think i'm messing with you the church has lost its identity that's why church people are acting silly listen let me take them it's not even so much you acting sinful you're just acting silly and silly creates confusion people don't know of you coming to go and you know why you don't know if you coming or going they questioned jesus they says jesus is you oh he said i know who i am he said i know where i've come from he said i know where i'm going i don't need you to interpret to me who i am where i've come from and where i'm going so church if y'all would pray for me i would get back on track the bible says god shall fight for us verse 21 so we labored in the work and half of them held the spirits from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared likewise at the same time said i unto the people let everyone listen to this with his servant lodge within jerusalem that in the night they may be a guard to us and labor on the day got to get got to figure this thing out y'all you're doing the wrong thing during the day and thinking it's the right thing but it's the wrong thing during the day because what you're doing in the day you should be doing that night what you should be doing that night you're doing in the day you got all confused likewise okay so verse 23 says so neither i nor my brother and nor my servants know the men of the guard which followed me none of us put off our clothes saving that everyone put them off for washing you can't throw away your salvation because the conditions are not relative to it doesn't fit it you can't put you can't put down your oh god you can't put down your holiness because your flesh is desiring something else you you got to stop changing your clothes you got to stop okay what i'm saying is you got to stop changing the fabric of your thinking that reflects in your natural movement what you do with your clothes what you do with your life it's not just your clothes it's how you position yourself you're hanging around with the wrong people here's what i hope happens in our church i don't care about nobody else's church but i do care but i'm concerned about that we would become honestly truthful with each other and allow the power of grace to move us forward in our truth and it got to come from both sides those who release it and those who receive it because if you don't have grace to receive it you're going to be offended to no end and you give place to the enemy to occupy your mind help me jesus so neither i nor my brother nor my servants nor the men of the god which followed me this this really ministered to me because those you that have followed me those that are around me listen we got to make up in our minds if we're going all the way we'll be going all the way in we're going all the way with this thing then i need y'all to come on go all the way with me there are times when we cannot lay down our salvation you can't do that if you're going if you're with me come on i had this i did this thing years ago at abundant when tyrelline was was with me and stuff i had this i put this list together if you're going to be under my hand there's certain things you can do and certain things i'm telling you you can't do and if you don't like it you can hit the road jack and i'll see you later in other words you couldn't be in position of leadership you didn't have to leave the church but if you're going to be in a position of leadership we're not going to smoke and drink if you if i i did i said that right i put in it i i went as far as to put it in writing some of y'all new people y'all ain't seen it y'all ain't never heard of it but you said do it again no i don't know i told well i told the prayer to the praise team i said y'all don't be going out y'all can't be partying all night saturday night and get up here in the presence of jesus and try to help people get through their dilemma and you ain't spending no time with the lord i i was out of i was at a little gathering on yesterday i had to do a consecration in the morning in new york in long island and then i had to come home and i changed my clothes and i had to go to a wonderful house blessing um on yesterday and and i was there for a while after a while it was time for me to go and some of the some of the young people that were there they said yo where you going you're going now you leaving now i need to take a picture of them shoes you got on them yeezys you got on i said no i got to go i told one of the brothers one of the young men there i said i got to go because i got to preach tomorrow morning and i can't i just cannot spend all this time having a party with y'all when i got a i i got a charge to keep and a god i i don't know about but i got to answer for every time that i make myself available to so i said mary yeah baby we got to go get to get our grandkids we had our grandkids we got to go and we got to go now i said i bet we got to go now we going to go now yeah we got to go now i've been here long enough i need to go home and prepare because preparation is the i got to prepare myself to come here cause i don't want to come here and give you no junk i don't want to come here and keep giving you milk i want to give you some meat i want to give you something that you can hold on to i want to speak prophetically to you but i can't speak prophetically to you if i don't get in the presence of god and hear from god for myself and that's the same way with those of you that are in leadership especially y'all that worship especially those who that play the instrument as long as you know that i should bring people in you've got to be especially the elders and ambassadors and the ministers y'all got to be in the right place and if you're going to be under this thing i didn't plan to go this way nyla i didn't plan to go this way but you've been away and now you're back and i see you you reminded me of the old way you nehemiah said we can't do the way the thing we used to do if we're gonna walk in the victory that god's bringing to us i know my theme was about building a battling building but building building work is a battle building work is a battle you tweet building work is a the bible says working out your own working out your own working out your own soul salvation with working out your own not living out your soul salvation because we got to confuse because when you think you've just got to live it out you can just take on the the handle of being a christian but not being a believer and obedient to the voice of god and the word of the lord i didn't want to go that way but i just did he says working out your own souls out working you got to work this thing out in you it's just working and building battling is working building is working when was the last time some of your friends question you on your commitment to god it ain't happening no more nobody's being questioned you know what do you mean you can't come to the party you got to be in prayer you gotta you can't you're on a consecration now when was the last time somebody got upset with you because you chose righteousness it ain't happening it ain't happening like that anymore and ain't happening like that anymore when was the last time some of your friends got a little upset with you while you were building your salvation you were building your confidence you were building your faith in god you you had to build it you had to work on it and sometimes working makes somebody upset what do you mean you can't you can't open your shop on thursday night because i go to church on thursday night what do you mean i can't go to work on sunday because i go to church on sunday i go the way i get built up in my faith so that when the enemy comes against me i got saints i got people praying i got people believing with me and i know some of y'all said well i got to work and you got to work but it's the it's those who have the choice that messes with me and you don't if you don't go in with the clarity you know the jews don't have no problem with that you ain't interrupting their holy days no no no i don't care what you say this is high in holy day the muslims don't have no problem with the direction of the koran they got no problem with it it's only the believers that compromise lord i got to be the one why don't you let elijah preach this stuff let let sean preach this i want the people to like me building working is a battle and not everybody's excited that that you're building your life in christ not everybody's excited about you building your life in christ and shame on you to have your environment so compromised that you got people that don't even question the stuff that you do that ultimately pulls you away from church oh the lord knows your heart mm-hmm [Music] does he yeah he do but you can't play that game and say that the lord knows your heart he know you love him love oh here we go you need to get the microphone love is what love does i don't read that in the scripture i just believe that's the principle yeah here it is if you love me you will keep my commandments you'll do what i tell you oh i got two minutes because i believe all of us are trying to build something we're trying to build something of our lives we're trying to build something of our families each each and every one of us we we each are trying to improve uh our lifestyle we try to improve our homes we're trying to build even a church you know we're trying to build a church which means we're trying to build the kingdom of god and that's not it's not always easy it's not always comfortable and on top of all of these challenges all these challenges we are faced with this virus and all this stuff that's happening in the world the economy global warming all this stuff and then you got your own personal struggles that you're dealing with and the constant attack of your enemy satan himself on top of all the stuff that you got to deal with there's this attack from the enemy oh god help me today he wants to destroy you he comes to steal kill and to destroy he wants to destroy your lives he wants to destroy your lives and he wants to destroy not only your lives but he wants to destroy your life's work the thing that you've been working on that brings you peace hallelujah the thing that you've been working on so that you can find that love that only comes from him the real genuine love of god the genuine peace of god the mercies of god the grace of god you've been working well i hope you have been to improve that in your life you've been working so that you can walk them right before him you've been working so that you can be pleasing in his sight i hope i don't know we've become so distracted by what's happening in the world we're no longer working on our salvation on our on our commitment that we made to the lord jesus christ you said a long time ago lord if you get me out of this i'll serve you how many of us have lost the battle because we don't do the work we haven't figured out somehow how to how the what's what's the word we haven't figured out how to multitask pray in the spirit and still go to work anoint yourself with oil and still take a bath lord help us today okay i'm going to stop because ain't they what much y'all can bear play something nice and soothing saints please remember there's two worlds that exist for us it is the world that we see and then there's the unseen world and we've got to figure out how we're building what we're building on figure out how you're building you'll figure out the battles that comes with the building god's calling us to battle and to build multitask i challenge you this morning this afternoon now i challenge you to live i'm going to close i challenge you this morning this afternoon to live in the light of eternity i challenge you to live start living in the light of eternity has to get you to the place where you remember your creator remember god come on nehemiah say this again to the people remember the lord live in the light of eternity remembering your creator the god who made you and making sure here here's something here's something listen whether you played instruments whether you sing whether you usher whether you whatever you do it doesn't matter you got to make sure that he's your savior
