hey everybody it's Leary from Lira gaming and today I got another bothers Gate 3 guide today we're going to be looking at the knowledge domain subclass for the cleric now this is a cleric that's kind of strange it's the closest thing to an intelligence-based cleric that you can get I'll explain more as we go on within this class guide we are going to cover features of a one of character creation including ability score recommendations we'll do a full level 2 to 12 breakdown including all spells available as you level up I'll give you some general equipment recommendations towards the end and also my thoughts on multi-classing potentially as the knowledge clerical cleric you can use timestamps below to jump to areas that interest you the most remember to drop a like and leave a comment below of thoughts feedback and questions and now without further Ado let's check out the knowledge domain cleric all right guys first thing to know about the knowledge domain cleric as a cleric in general your primary ability is wisdom and you can have saving through proficiencies in wisdom and Charisma your hit dice are going to be 1d8 hit points and Baseline proficiencies of all simple weapons light armor medium armor and shields now the knowledge domain cleric you're also gonna get Proficiency in morning Stars it looks like and then of course if you play shadow heart you're going to have a bunch of other weapons like Spears Pikes hellbirds and glaves that you're going to be able to use now in addition to this you're going to get access to two domain spells that are always going to be available and memorized which are command and sleep and sleep is actually pretty good and unlike any other subclasses so far you actually get something unique when it comes to your skill proficiencies you're going to get to add a total of two expertise so you can choose from Arcane history nature and religion you'll notice these are all intelligence based if you want to have a intelligence focused cleric when it comes to skill checks this is the path for you the ability Point Wise It's a little tough you end up kind of being all over the place if you want to lean into the intelligence side because you don't have heavy armor you're going to want to probably go 14 dexterity so you can get the most of medium armor you definitely don't want to have low Constitution so 14 Constitution wisdom we're going to keep it 16 we're going to dump charisma at 8. we don't want strength at eight if we can avoid it because then you're not going to be able to jump at all or not very far and your carry weights can be horrible so we were able to put one point in here because we do want 14 intelligence because if you dump intelligence what's the whole point of getting skill proficiencies and expertise and skill in intelligent skills so again it's a bit of an odd setup but this is what I would recommend if you really want to lean in to this path now you're going to get to pick three can trips of course I always recommend guidance here are the other options you can of course pause the video at any point to read the descriptions now you are going to start out with two level one spell slots and there's going to be five memorized spells Baseline cure obviously is a great close range heel guidance is your one range attack spell healing word is a ranged heel spell that you can use as a bonus action and shield of faith is a great spell for making yourself a little more tanky give you two more AC you know it's concentration based so if you do take damage and if you fail your concentration save that can mean that you could lose that spell and spell slot so keep that in mind we'll be talking about that a little bit more when we get to level four and feeds all right level two you're gonna get another level one spell slot gonna get channel Divinity charges starting of one these refresh every shorter long rest and you can use them either to turn Undead or to use your special Channel Divinity abilities the first one you get his knowledge of the ages and you can basically use this as an action and it's gonna actually end or last until the end of your long rest you gain Proficiency in all skills of a chosen ability so this is very similar to the GIF Yankee ability and in fact it sounds like if you play as a gift Yankee cleric you can now use it into abilities meaning let's say you use this and select dexterity then you would have proficiency and sleight of hand and stealth for example and you can basically utilize this to get a lot more proficiencies than you naturally would especially if you double down with the GIF Yankee actual ability as well so this is actually pretty neat again if you want to be kind of like a jack of all trades when it comes to checks now do note that clerics have a different way of preparing spells at level two you can have five spells and you select them from any and all of the options you have and here are the options at level two again I'll Mouse over them for you Sanctuary very effective bless is also great for offense and what's nice about these is you can change them as you level up but also if you go under inventory there's a tab and you can swap these out at any point so if you don't want one you just select it just like that and then you're good to go at level three you're gonna get one more level one spell slot but now you'll get two level two spell slots your domain spells that will always be memorized are calm emotions and hold person but here are the other ones that you can also prepare enhanceability is really really good especially probably for this class there's so many proficiencies now if you can go and get advantage on a bunch of them this could be really good pair of healing is a very powerful AOE heal but note that it's only in combat or out of combat rather and protection from Poison can't be overlooked notice it's not concentration based you just cast and last a long rest gives you advantage against saving throws against poisoned effects and you get resistance to poison damage so that's really good consider so many poison encounters especially early in mid game spiritual weapon is also a nice summon and then I always like to mention award warding Bond cast on an ally they're going to get resistance to all damage plus one to armor class and saving throw does not require concentration the downside is that fifty percent of damage that they don't take you take that instead so that can be a bit rough and it can knock you out of concentration as well so that's kind of a big deal and now you can prepare six spells across level one and two level four you're gonna get another level 2 spell slot get to pick another cant trip you can now prepare seven spells and most importantly you can pick another feat now this one's a little tricky depending how you want to build it out you need so many ability scores across this character to be effective you may just want to stick completely to Ability improvements however I will point out if you want to maximize the chance that you don't lose concentration you may want to go into warcaster to get advantage on saving throws to maintain concentration a lot of times I do recommend resilience but since you're starting with an even Constitution you may or may not have the ability to get this and also optimize it so that can be good if you pick Constitution so you get Proficiency in Constitution saving throws but I could see you just pumping more points into ability Improvement instead for this build and in theory because you're all about skills and being so efficient you may even consider skill to be proficient in three skills of your choice especially if you're not get Yankee so those are just kind of ways you can build if you're again really leaning into the Jack of all trade setup all right level five you're gonna get two level three spell slots your turn on dead gets upgraded to destroy Undead so now if you turn it Undead it'll take four to twenty four radiant damage as well your domain spells are going to be speak with dead which is unfortunately pretty useless since you can get an amulet with this for free uh early on in the game and then slow which is actually very very good and it counters haste as well on enemies so very powerful spell and here are your other level 3 spells animate dead is also good Mass healing word is very powerful as well and spirit Guardian is a universally very powerful offensive spell of concentration you may actually want to use utilize this because you pick radiant or necrotic damage and it creates a three meter uh Aura around you like radius around you and if anything gets within that range or if you run into anything and that edge of that Circle touches anything they take that damage and it can be very very effective especially if you scale this up to a higher level cast and then you can cast up to or rather prepare up to nine Spells at this point but again it's across all three levels at level six you're gonna get one level three spell slot and then an initial charge of channeling divinity and then you can prepare now 10 spells at level seven you're gonna get one level four spell slot your domain spells are confusion and otiluki's resilient sphere that's definitely very unique to clerics I don't think any other cleric subclass gets this spell then you get these other four options and now you can prepare 11 spells at level eight you get another level 4 spell slot and you get the option spell casting your Gods Grant you even more intense Powers you can add your wisdom modifier to damage deal with cantrips which is good because again you don't have that many innate proficiencies and probably don't have stat points to have high strength so unless you wanted to go and get a finesse weapon chances are using cantrips for casting is going to be the way to go for this class and then again you pick another another feat here all right now at level nine you're gonna get one level four spell slot and then you're gonna get one level five spell slot the two level five spells that are going to be domain spells or domini person and telekinesis both are very potent telekinesis especially might be one that you may want to utilize and here are the other level five spells that you can pick and now you can prepare up to 14 spells all right level 10 you're gonna get uh one level five spell slot you're going to get a unique divine intervention ability you can use once in a game it's four different options that you can cast I'll go over those in a second and you gain one more cam trip and finally you can prepare up to 15 spells now diviner invention is going to be one of four options again you can only use them once first one's called Sunder the heretical it's a big AOE bomb giant AOE as you can see the radius it does eight d10 radiant damage so on a hard encounter can help wipe out a lot enemies you have golden generosity which is junk in my opinion provides you a rich Bounty of potions and camp supplies you should definitely not need the others that much opulent Revival is amazing on a hard encounter especially you can resurrect following companions within 18 meters which is huge range they come back with half their hit points and you restore all nearby allies is that they had long rested so they get all their spell slots back Etc so on hard encounter that is absolutely amazing just be picky when you pick it and finally you have armed thy servant this will give you a legendary weapon that's permanent and obviously this goes away afterwards let me show you what that looks like it's the Devo team Ace this class is unlikely to be very mainly focused so it's a plus your weapon with one the eight radiant damage that it does extra but again you're unlikely to be very potent hitting in melee so the only benefit this could be useful for is the healing instance Aura which it lasts 10 Rounds you cast it as a bonus action you can use it once per long rest kills everybody in a 9 meter radius wonderful Health per turn so up to 10 to 40 Health per Ally in that area over 10 Rounds if a combat even were to last that long so again probably not the best option for this subclass but there it is anyways all right level 11 you're gonna get one level six spell slot and access to six level level six spells and uniquely planar Ally lets you summon one of three planner allies I'll go ahead and show you what they're like in just a moment and then you can also now prepare 16 spells all right your first planar Ally option is the cambian his special abilities are fiendish charm draining kiss and raise a fire this is what he looks like he's got 82 health of all the three summons he actually has the least Health at least they see but the most base resistances the second option is the genie he gets sweet Plum Gales Thunder Wave and drunken inhale matagini has the most health at 161 he's got a good stat block here's the least amount of resistances but note that he is completely immune to thunder and lightning damage so that's really really powerful and again he's quite tanky and effective overall and finally we have the diva has wrathful smite revivify and concussive smash and here's how he looks so is basically like an angel stat wise he's in the middle of half of 136 highest AC 21 he's got a nice stat block and then he's got in the middle when it comes to a number of resistances now finally at level 12 you're going to be able to prep 17 spells and you're going to get your final feet now let's talk about equipment for the knowledge domain cleric you're not going to have access to Heavy Armor so you're going to want to probably get the best possible medium armor you can to maximize your protection definitely use your AC to keep your or rather Shield to keep your AC decent if you can get a shield that gives you additional spell slot like this one and or other spell to cast so you get some utility that's going to be huge your weapon you're unlikely to use melee weapons with this build especially once you get to Mid levels you're gonna probably use cant trips for casting but you may want to get something that has an effect that's used to kind of like the healing instance Aura here that is a decent option for you this is a weird class that again tries to it's got that expertise effect similar to how Rogues do so it's kind of like a jack of all trades when it comes to skill use so the rest of the gear you're going to want to kind of tailor it to maximize your play style maybe have it add extra movement abilities or extra spells if you want to make sure you can heal it enough you can pick my favorites of like the wapiro's crown when healing another your aware gains one to six hit points I also like boots of eight and comfort wonder where it heals the target it gains an additional three temporary hit points but it's kind of up to you again this is a very odd class now when it comes to multi-classing this subclass I'm a little torn about how to make it the most effective to be honest you may actually want to consider if you want to multi-class multi-classing it with a bard because bards can also get bonuses to any skills that you don't have Proficiency in and also get bardic inspiration so if you want to really really maximize the chances that you pass skill checks that would be a decent option or you may just want to stick with the cleric and the subclass all the way to level 12. I haven't personally created any builds that really lean into this domain it's a very unusual setup I think if it was based off of intelligence instead of wisdom for its casting and you could basically dump wisdom or keep it quite a bit lower that would have been a little bit more interesting for this but otherwise Celebi it is how it is and that's what I gotta say about that all right guys hope you guys found this guide helpful if you did make sure to drop a like leave your comments below if you want to see more content from this channel make sure to subscribe and as always thank you for your support and I'll see in the next video thank you [Music]
