hey everybody welcome back to the channel I am Joe usual and today I'm going to talk about the races and sub races in Baldur's Gate 3 to help you hopefully make a more informed decision when you create your character as the race is the one thing you cannot change in the game so once you start to play you're going to be stuck with that race unless you want to start a brand new playthrough all right pulling from the panel from hell they started with elf so that's where we'll start too now if you'll notice that they don't have any racial bonuses for stats because they took those out of the game instead of having racial stats which change depending on the race they're just giving a flat out plus two to one of your stats and a plus one to another one of your stats how it used to be for example for the high elf they used to have a dexterity plus two and then intelligence plus one and I believe it was the same with the wood elf yes it was no it was wisdom plus one and dexterity plus two for the wood elf for the drow it was dexterity plus two and Charisma plus one now it's just you're able depending on where you want want to put it you can put plus two in any one of your ability points and plus one and one another ability point so you're not going to be able to stack it to make it plus three and to say strength but you can put plus two into strength if you want plus one in the Constitution or you can just put them wherever you'd like now you're these are what they call a standard array with the ability points so depending on what class you choose that's gonna that's gonna depend where the spread is as far as what is high and what is low in your in your ability scores and then you can add plus two to one and plus one to another so now we're going to talk about the elephant in the room that everybody's upset about dwarves the uh The Shield dwarves used to get a plus two in Constitution and a plus two in strength the humans used to get plus one to all of their ability scores and the half elf used to get plus two Charisma plus you could add plus one to one of your ability scores twice so uh so you get plus one under dexterity or plus strength dick dexterity you can move around two different ability points so each one of these races lost out the half elf and the dwarf lost one point that was available to them and the humans lost four points that was no three points that were available to them so like it don't like it it doesn't really matter this is how it's going to be in the game and some people love it some people hate it so put it down in the comments section tell me what you think and then we're going to move on from there now during the panel from hell they were showing as when they showed this elf they were showing a barbarian and they showed they off so right here you're going to see under weapons and Under Armor sometimes when they go when we go through this duplicating um words you see simple weapons here and then you see martial weapons then you see long swords swords Long bows and short bows that last part is elf weapon proficiency that's elf weapon training is what that is and that's what this little blue icon here is with the bow that's elf weapon training if you go to D and D Beyond and you look under high elf you're gonna see that it's going to show that it's going to say elf weapon training and that's what that is this next one is dark vision and this third this tree right here is Fey ancestry and also we have cane senses in the Early Access Edition it doesn't say it doesn't have it under racial features here but that is a um a advantage on perception so I and I do see it right here under skills so I'm assuming that that's not going to change so we're going to go ahead and we're going to say that we're going to have an advantage on perception checks as well and as you can see in the Early Access version the racial feature of keen senses says you were proficient in perception which means you're going to get a plus two to your perception and then this is your Elf weapon training down here long sword sword sword uh Longbow short bow dark vision up to 40 feet Fey ancestry which is advantage on saving throws against being Charmed and Magic can't put you to sleep also their base racial speed is 40 sorry 30 feet versus the wood elf which is a base racial speed of 35 feet so they're faster in the battlefield outside of the battlefield it doesn't matter because you're going to move as fast as you're going to move and unless you're in a battle it really does not matter so the the wood elves are going to be a lot better especially if you're going with a class that's going to increase their speed if you take the feet mobile which increases your speed as well so if you have a plus five to your speed to start and then you take mobile which is an extra 10 feet that's 15 feet extra movement on the battlefield the wood elves are going to be a lot better on the on the battlefield as far as if you need to move from place to place if they're not going to be a magic user and they're not going to have say Misti step or if even if they did have Misty step that's even better so if you want if you're looking for movement as far as elves go your wood elf is your better bet between the High Elves and the wood elves their dark vision is the same so that doesn't matter however with the high elf if you want to go ahead and get a little magic under your belt you do have the opportunity to you use a high elf cantrip and you can pick your cantrip from this list and so you're going to be able to have a can trip which is not available to the wood elf however the wood elf does have mask of the wild which gives you Proficiency in stealth checks so if you're not a thief which that would give you proficiency and stealth checks you can go ahead and you want to be able to hide better say if you want to be a ranger you can go ahead and you can take you know take wood elf and you know wood elf Ranger it's going to give you a lot better stealth than if you if you would say any other race in the game except for a deep gnome who have stone camouflage which also gives you advantage on stealth checks as well and mind you Proficiency in stealth and advantage in stealth are two different things advantage means you roll the dice twice proficiency just means you have it plus two plus three plus four depending on your level to your proficiency to keep that in mind the wording is very important also it bears in mind that when you come to when it comes to talking to people in the game uh elves probably won't have much of it there won't be much of a prejudice against elves as they are very common in the game so they they're not they're not hated they're not despised they're not shunned so uh elf are a pretty solid pick when it comes to uh being able to talk with other characters in the game NPCs and whatnot so you shouldn't have much of an issue there now on the flip side of the social coin the teethlings in this game are the refugees coming out of avernus they have no home they have no place to go people do not trust them not only because of them showing up and trying to find a place to live but also because of the way they look they look like the devils and and so they're treated like Devils however they are very popular to play because a lot of people like to like the way they look and they do have dark vision and they also have hellish resistance which means whenever you're resistant to Something in the game you take half damage so automatically whenever you get hit by something so say a fireball that does 30 points of damage you're only going to take 15. now with let's say a fireball you have to make a dexterity saving throw to see if you take half damage so if you do make your dexterity saving throw with a t fling you're not only not taking half damage you're taking one quarter damage so you know some of the most potent spells in the game don't affect you nearly as much as they do other races so they are very very popular race to play and it used to be that it would depend on on what type of tiefling that you played as to where your uh your extra points would go into a bit but now that they've taken this out of the game it doesn't really matter you can put it in whichever way you want so however you do get a can trip with your uh with your tiefling depending on what uh what type of tling you play so you'll either get thamaturgy or you can get magehand depending on the on the type of teething tiefling that you play so that will make a difference if you depending on what can trip you want to get thermaturgy gives you advantage on intimidation and performance checks and magehand obviously is magehand so you know you put it out there you can pick things up you can throw things and you can push thing you can push people off cliffs and things like that once you get Mage handout it's a it's a very powerful utility spell so maybe you want to be Mephistopheles uh tiefling maybe I don't know very popular race though also it Bears mentioning that tieflings have a base racial speed of 30 feet so unless I mention it from now on um every race is going to have 30 feet that's the standard the smaller races have a racial speed of 25 feet what else have a racial speed of 35 feet so unless I mention it it's going to be 30 feet just going forward just so you know because that's going to be average for most of the races so that way I don't have to repeat myself over and over again all right getting into drow there are two different factions of dry well but mechanically they're going to be the same so they have these three icons right here we have drow weapon training which is going to give you a Proficiency in rapiers short swords and hand crossbows this right here was giving some people some trouble this icon right here this is actually Superior dark vision which gives you a dark vision up to 80 feet which is double the normal dark vision of any other creature except for the Deep gnomes and then they also have Fey ancestry which is the same as the regular elves so they're also going to have keen senses which is the same as the other elves which gives them proficient they're proficient in perception um they they have their their proficiencies in their weapons like I said and you have Superior dark vision up to 80 feet and Fey ancestry which gives you advantage on saving throws against being Charmed and Magic can't put you to sleep now something that is way mechanically different than dungeon dragons with the tabletop version is that they are they don't have disadvantage in bright light or normal light in um in D 5e or any other version of DnD that I I think drow always had disadvantage in in regular light when they go to attack or so that's not the case they took that out of the game which makes them uh exceptionally um well suited for any place any battle whether it be in the light or in the dark um if you if you want to pick up Ranger or you want to pick up fighter you want to use a long bow they're going to be able to shoot entirely further in the dark than any other race except for the Deep gnome the Deep gnome is the only other race that has uh Superior dark vision so but the only problem is drow are some of the most I don't want to say hated but mistrusted race races in the game so you're going to have as far as the social aspect of things goes you're going to have an issue uh convincing people to uh to do what you want them to do you probably would be a disadvantage with some things I don't know I haven't seen that there's any disadvantage so don't quote me on that but uh but drow are definitely mistrusted when it comes to dealing with other races in faerun and in Boulder gate 3. but being how versatile and how expansive the dialogue system is in this game the loath sworn drow and the selling sell celdarine drows uh their dialogue options are probably going to be are completely different or at least a lot different they're probably going to give you an option to explain yourself in the dialogue if you meet somebody who doesn't like a draw you can say hey I'm not a loaf drow I'm this other drought so the chances of you having that that option is probably pretty good I expect it's going to be pretty good now with humans and I wanted to just keep away from speculation in this video I wanted to give you what I know and not what I think but um we're going to start with this first icon right here which everybody can tell is the polar Mastery and what that is right here is we have Spears Pikes halberds and glaves which is also going to give you the reachability so you can hit and run because the weapons are so long if you don't know what a pole arm is it's an extra long weapon with a blade on the end or some pointy thing on the end that's going to give you the reach ability which is going to allow you to attack from 10 feet away if you're five feet away and you attack someone and you run what that does is that that can trigger an attack of opportunity from your opponent's reaction and then they can attack you and you can take damage now if you have the reach ability with a pole arm you're gonna you can run up to them 10 feet away attack them and run away and then you don't trigger an attack of opportunity and then they have to use their movement to come up to you next turn and attack you so that's what that's going to be we know that for a fact no now what what now there is a feat that is polar Mastery that's not the same thing okay that again gives you extra stuff um it gives you a bonus action uh you can use the butt of the weapon as a bonus action to attack and do one to four damage and then also if somebody moves into your space um you can attack them as an attack of opportunity within 10 or 15 feet so that's not the same I don't they're not going to give us all of that however these three arrows here there's a video out there this is my only speculation for the humans the there's a video out there that says it gives you plus 20 carry weight that might very well be the case but I I I've read the Unearthed Arcana since August of last year and there are three things that they want to give to humans in the Unearthed Arcana for their new human races coming out next year because they're going to redo the player's handbook so they're going to give a resourceful which gives gains an inspiration whenever you finish the long rest they're going to give skillful which gives you gain Proficiency in one skill of your choice and they give versatile which gives you a feat of your choice I don't think we're going to get the the feet in Baldur's Gate 3 because I think that's going to be too op but I do think that they're going to give us resourceful skillful and the extra carry weight I believe that's what the three hours of four there's three separate things they're giving us so you can you can uh you know mark my words uh hold me to it it might be wrong so if you're watching this video after Baldur's Gate 3 comes out you know what you're you scream and yell all you want in the comments it doesn't really matter because I really don't know but uh so I don't want to I didn't want to speculate on it but you know if since I saw that I thought why not think it might be a it'd be a great thing and it would make being a human worthwhile because as as of right now humans not having dark vision not having one point in every single skill added to it and only having the reachability with the pole arm is just not good enough an extra carry weight is just not good enough in my opinion they needed to give us more and they said that they wanted to give us more they did give us more so I'm expecting that we're much more than just carry weight it has to be but that's my opinion and we'll see what happens all right moving on to get Yankee now they haven't changed anything from Early Access that I can tell it's hard to see with the panel from hell right here this feature is right here that is showing the can trip so you are going to get Mage hand automatically and they did duplicate some items over here but they didn't we didn't get very much anyway as far as as far as specialty things go except for armor proficiency and weapon proficiency from Early Access so in the Early Access version here we have light armor and medium armor proficiency short sword long sword and great sword proficiency and then of course the magehand can trip which um as you go higher up in level you also have psionic jump because they have some psionic abilities they've mixed the get Yankee and the getzerai kind of together in this game those are two different factions of the uh of the of the gith that are in Dungeons and Dragons but they uh they took a little bit from the get Sarai which are the the uh the psionic um Mages of the race and they added some stuff to the get Yankee in this game so I don't think they've changed anything here the base racial speed obviously is still 30 because I haven't mentioned it you know from like humans or 30 as well so um but yeah so I don't think they've changed anything with these guys so they're going to be the uh the gift that you know and love and if you played in Early Access um yeah it's going to be the same except for the fact that if you play a gith you're going to have the hardest time of all I think in the social aspect of the game just simply because all of the people in the game all the NPCs are going to be think of you as an alien I mean even the even the tieflings aren't going to have as much of a hard time with the with the social aspect of the game but then again you like what you like and if you want to play them I say go ahead oh and also get the Yankee do not have dark vision all right in the panel from hell they only showed us the gold dwarf now now these icons right here this is a Dwarven weapon training this is uh dark vision and this is Dwarven toughness now I'm going to switch over to the access version so we can look at both different types of dwarves because there are two different types so with the gold dwarf then we have Dwarven resilience which gives you advantage on saving throws against poison and your resistance to poison damage although that wasn't on the icons that we saw I don't think they're taking that out of the game because I think people would Riot so I don't think they're going to take out Dwarven resilience they are they did give us proficiency to all these weapons the battle ax the hand X the light hammer and the Warhammer we do have dark vision up to 40 feet now and we do have Dwarven toughness which gives you an additional one hit point per level which at the end of the game would give you 12 extra hit points in addition to what you're getting from either your feets and your uh and your class features as well so a gold dwarf Barbarian is going to have with toughness we'll have the most hit points of any character in the game but like I said your racial base base speed is 25 matter of fact that's the same for all of the little people dwarves have gnomes all the smaller races are only going to be able to move 25 feet on the battlefield but some of this extra like Dwarven toughness and Dwarven resilience and this and these uh and these weapon proficiencies I think make up for it so it's definitely worth worth the uh the trade-off I think and in the shield dwarf we have one of my favorite races of all time and the reason for that is because they get light armor proficiency and medium armor proficiency and what I love Wizards so the uh the the fact that I can slap on armor at level one without having to multi-class is a huge moon to me so you'll still get your proficiencies and all the weapons that you get with the gold dwarf you get your resistance to uh poison damage and your advantage on saving throws against poison and you get your dark vision now and you still have your base ratio speed of 25 so you're a little slower but I think it's worth it because you get this armor proficiency so if you don't if you want to be a Spell slinger and you want to be able to be you want to be a war wizard this is the way to go in my opinion also with the social aspect of the game in Baldur's Gate 3 dwarves are common they're not unliked so you shouldn't have an issue with any of your dialogue all right now we're coming to the part of the video where we have to talk about the big elephant in the room or the big half elephant in the room so they taken away the plus two to Charisma with the half elves if you notice that these stats have not changed at all throughout this entire video so they have they still have dark vision and they still have hat or Fey ancestry that's that's from the high half elf so I'm assuming that this has not changed any sort of the can trip that it comes with it the high elf can trip but nothing else has changed except they've taken away the plus two and Charisma they don't have the plus two and Charisma here so that tells me that it's going to be the same as any Early Access except you're not going to have the racial features that you that you did before so that means that you're going to have you're going to have your dark vision up to 40 feet your Fey ancestry you're going to have your high elf can trip which you can choose which is fine um and they're going to have a base ratio speed of 30 that's for a high half elf if you go with the wood half elf you're going to have everything that a Wood Elf would have you're gonna have mask of the wild which gives you proficiency and stealth you're going to have flea foot Fleet of foot which is going to give you a 35 movement speed you're going to have dark vision up to 40 feet you're an FBA ancestry but you're not going to have your but you don't have your charisma and then with a drow you're going to have the ancestry dark vision up to 40 feet you don't even have the better dark vision that drows have and you you do get the cantrip dancing lights so I don't know what they're doing here they have definitely nerfed the half elf which by their own admission is one of the most popular races in the games to play the only thing I can figure is that maybe you'll have Advantage somewhere in your social aspect of the game that's the only thing I can figure that they're going to add in that would that would make it worth playing a half elf there's no other reason to play a half elf in my opinion except just for just aesthetic purposes next we have the Beloved halfling ladies and gentlemen there's two different types of halflings right here on the race features uh from the panel of hell they have a little four-leaf clover and it looks like a lion's head above these two that's going to represent lucky and it's going to represent Brave both of the races uh most of the sub-races have lucky and brave we have the light fit halfling and we have the strong heart halfling they both have lucky and brave and the light hood Lightfoot halfling is naturally stealthy so they get Proficiency in stealth checks the stronghart gets um it's a advantage on saving throws against poison and resistance to poison damage so that's similar to the dwarves now with brave it says the world can be intimidating but you stand strong you have advantage on saving throws against being frightened that's pretty big however the lucky feature here does not matter that much in Baldur's Gate 3 depending on your settings and let me explain why I made a video the previous video in this series called Untitled this setting makes enemies 400 percent stronger and it's in the cards in the top right hand side of the screen so you can go and check out that video if you'd like let me show you why I'm just getting brief I'm going to tell you that if you have an under options and this is automatically clicked for you karmic dice what that does is it Smooths out the dice rolls for you so you almost never get uh ones you almost never get low rolls it fudges the dice for you on purpose so you can get better rolls which means that the lucky race feature doesn't even matter really and which is unfortunate because it was one of the one of the favorite things that people liked about the halflings which it made it worth becoming a halfling I mean you have a racial speed of 25 I mean you're almost better off going dwarf really or some other race but you know what it's up to you unclick karmic Dice and um you can go to my video check it out and uh you can decide up for yourself whether you want karmic dice enabled or not but it's definitely worth uh worth giving it an extra thought and now we have one of my favorite characters of all time The Gnome now there's three different types of gnomes and you can tell larion Studios put a lot of love in the game for the Gnomes they talk about it quite a bit and so there are three different types of gnomes like I said the rock gnome the forest gnome and the Deep gnome and now the rock gnome kind of got the short end of the stick because there's no artificer in the game Rock gnomes are notoriously um tinkerers so they would normally they'd be able to Tinker things with things one of the developers did say that they give you a little music box that you can wind up and play and it plays the Baldur's Gate 3 theme with the rock gnome and the people were asking well what's this race feature icon what is that that's his nose is in a book is what that is and what you do is you get double history um uh proficiency for whatever reason in the game I don't know there's there might be uh some times when history proficiency comes into play but unfortunately I think the rock gnome kind of get the short end of the stick however so here it says right here artificial is lore there's no artificer in the game and as far as class goes not yet anyway they might add it to the game later on but it's not going to be in the game right now so it says you had twice your proficiency bonus to history checks okay I'm not excited about that but they do have gnome cunning all the Gnomes have known gnome cunning this is exciting because you get advantage on intelligence wisdom and Charisma saving throws let me let me reiterate what advantage means it means you get to roll twice in your roll which means double double the dice right so it means you have twice the chance of getting a success okay it's not Advanced it's not it's not proficiency it's Advantage that's big that's huge now your racial speed is still 25 because you're you're a small person but uh you all but yeah you're the gnome cunning is amazing so even though I mean if you like the the way the rock gnome looks by all means um go and play it if you think they're going to put artificer in the game you'll probably have to play again because you I mean you but you might be able to respect who knows they might put it in the game eventually all right Forest gnome is the big one well not not really in my opinion it's the it's the second best gnome in the game because you get the ability to speak with animals until you're long rest so which means all day long you cast a spell when you first wake up and you get to speak with animals and there are dozens of animals in this game which makes this um I mean you can get this spell elsewhere but this the ability to do this whenever you want once per day for the whole day is amazing there are so many animals in this game I don't know why you wouldn't want to at least play a forest gnome at least once in in your playthroughs it's really really good uh let's see what else all the Gnomes have dark vision um however my favorite of all the Gnomes is going to be the Deep gnome and the reason for that is not only do they have gnome cunning but they also have Superior dark vision that okay it doubles the dark vision of a normal gnome and they have stone camouflage now this is not Proficiency in stealth checks the wood elf has mask of the wild which is Proficiency in stealth no the Deep gnome has advantage of still on stealth checks that's the big difference so proficiency means you get you add plus two to your to your stealth check proficiency I mean advantage means you you get double the rolls you roll both you wrote The Dice twice I'm excited so I'm getting flustered with my words but yeah so Stone's Stone camouflage is huge it's way better than it is on the table top plus you get Superior dark vision um plus you get gnome cunning really if you if you don't play a deep gnome druid so you can speak with animals as well I don't even know I don't even know what you're what you're doing with your life man because I mean this that would be an amazing build in my opinion all right next up we have the half Fork now this has not been in the game yet but we do know what it's going to do because they told us what it's going to do so right here these three race features that we see we see dark vision it's not the superior dark vision icon so we know that it's going to be up to 40 feet we do see the Relentless endurance where they talked about this that when you drop down to zero hit points you're actually going to pop back up to one hit point and I don't have to tell you how strong that is and then this third one right here is going to be what they call Savage attacks and Savage attacks when you score a critical hit with your melee weapon you're going to be able to roll an additional damage die and add that to your damage when you hit it when you hit for a critical attack super super great for Marshall uh stuff not so great for Magical because it's not technically a weapon attack so that's really not that big a deal although you could totally be make your your half Fork into a wizard I don't see why it wouldn't work I mean anything that allows you to come back from the dead or come back from being unconscious pop back up one more time every long rest that's pretty amazing to me all right last but certainly not least we have the one that everyone wants to play the race with the face the Dragonborn now the dragonborn's Gonna Get You know they don't show race feature here because they wanted to hide that but they told us what it's what they're going to give us so it doesn't really matter there's only one speculative part about this that we're going to get into and there's also a downfall to being a Dragonborn that not a lot of people are talking about but I'll talk about that in just a second however so you're gonna get three different things you're going to get a breath weapon depending on what color or what type of dragon you are you're also going to get a resistance to that damage type and then they said later on you're going to get an additional race feature as you progress in level so we're gonna that's the speculative part about it I'm gonna go over that in just a second so first of all depending on what color Dragonborn you are you're going to get a breath weapon that will match that type now there are two different types of Dragonborn there's a lot of different colors but there's two different types you have metallic and you have chromatic now in Dungeon and Dragons lore typically the chromatic dragons are the evil dragons and that's going to be your every all the heads of Tiamat so that's going to be the red the white the blue the green and the black okay so then you have the metallics which are going to be the the brass the bronze the copper the gold and the silver okay so let me go and show you the breath weapons that are available uh like your black which is your chromatic evil dragon quote unquote and your copper which is the metallic good quote unquote both have acid now you don't have to be a chromatic evil dragon or a Dragonborn or a metallic good Dragonborn that doesn't matter alignment does not matter in this game so you could be a chromatic good Dragonborn or you could be a metallic evil Dragonborn what color do you want to be that's what breath weapon you're going to get and that's also what damages the type you're going to resist now they say that later on down the road you're going to get an additional feature to your race now there's two different options that they can go with here that's assuming that they don't do both and they might do both so in Dungeons and Dragons or indeed in 5e and d d beyond the metallic breath weapon at level five you get the enervating breath which each creature in the cone must succeed in a constitution saving throw or become incapacitated until the start of your next turn or repulsion breath each creature in the cone must succeed on a strength saving throw or be pushed away 20 feet from you and be knocked prone that's at fifth level now that's what that's what DND Beyond that's what dungeon dragons 5e gives a metallic breath weapon so that's why I gave you the difference between a metallic and chromatic because chromatic is different and at fifth level for chromatic breath weapon you as an action you can Channel your account your draconic energy to protect yourself for one minute you become immune to the damage type associated with your chromatic ancestry this is what I think they're going to give us I think that they're going to give us immunity to the damage type no matter what I don't know that they're going to have uh the distinction between chromatic and metallic I think they're just going to give us what color do you want to be that's a breath weapon you're going to get that's a damage resistance type you're going to get and they might bump it up to a higher level and then give you chromatic or give you just um just draconic warding call it draconic warding and give you immunity for a certain amount amount of rounds like maybe 10 Rounds you get immunity and that's every long rest that's what I think they're going to do but it could be any one of the three it could be all three could be either who knows but you're definitely going to get an additional um bonus to being a Dragonborn at a higher level in the game they did tell us that they did guarantee us that now the big blind elephant in the room is that they don't have dark vision guys Dragonborn don't have dark vision they never have and they never will they just I mean they might and in a future version of Dungeons and Dragons but I doubt it they're too powerful they have to put they have to draw the line somewhere and dark vision is where they draw the line so guess what this game is half in darkness so if you're gonna play uh now there now there are spells to be fair there are spells that will allow you to have dark vision but if you're a fighter and you don't have that spell or you can't have it cast on you I mean sure you have magic users they can cast it on you sure and there's I think there is a magic item in the game that'll give you dark vision however if you're if you're playing with Gail too who's human or you know you have another character another companion that doesn't have dark vision you're hobbling yourself and so I mean you know what if you don't care you won't play the Dragonborn go for it I probably won't just because I I want dark vision for my entire party because I I don't want to have to go through half the uh I mean Dancing Lights sure you can cast Dancing Lights but you know I mean if you want to be a stealthy group you gotta have dark vision and uh dragonborns don't have it they're cool don't get me wrong they're very cool but um without dark vision it's not going to be one of my favorite characters not going to be one of my top picks but I tell you what no matter what anybody says don't let anybody tell you what you should and shouldn't play in this game just because it might be sub-optimal or it's not going to work out for you or you're are going to have a hard time with it guess what it's a video game and it's your game it's not their game you play it how you want to play it and then and have fun with it because it's going to be an amazing game and no matter what you're gonna you're gonna have fun and if you go if you want to start over start over and but if you want to play a certain way then you play a certain way don't let anybody tell you how to play your video games they're games they're meant to be enjoyed the way you want to enjoy them okay guys the tldr as far as picking your characters go if you're looking for weapon proficiency you're gonna be looking for Elf drow getth Yankee or dwarf if you're looking for armor proficiency you're going to be looking for gith Yankee or Shield dwarf the only races without dark vision are going to be human get Yankee halfling and Dragonborn the races with the best dark vision are going to be drow and deep gnome they both can see uh up to 80 feet and then the absolute best stealth in the game to start now mind you this is to start this is not with classes it's just races are going to be the wood elf the half wood elf both of those are going to have mask of the wild and that's going to give you proficiency to stealth and then the Deep gnome which is going to give you actual advantage to stealth checks the two races that have elemental resistance are going to be the tiefling with fire resistance and the Dragonborn with whatever color skin they have or whatever breath weapon they have is more accurate and if you're looking to be lucky or you're looking to be brave you want to pick the halfling race but if you want to be lucky you got to turn off the karmic dice in your settings alrighty guys well I think that's going to do it I think I covered all the bases and hopefully this will help you out when it comes to creating your character I couldn't have build videos without having this video so this is why I made this video so hopefully you enjoyed it if you did give us a thumbs up and if you haven't subscribed please do that right now as I always
