Baer Plays Pitch Black Dungeon (Ep. 81) - The Huntsmen Corps

hey everybody welcome back to pitch-black dungeon my name is bear this is a day that I have been putting off and you could probably tell that based on the amount of days that have elapsed since I last uploaded this hey okay so we're going into the Warrens it's champion level we got the Huntsman's core which is cool this is a team that I put together before of course and it's a very good team at that but this is champion and you know the the previous me probably would have elected to choose the swine god fight here but I'm going with what I consider to be the easiest of our available options here which is not easy at all not even a little bit but it's it's doable I think at least that it's doable I certainly hope it's doable because I don't know what else to do if this isn't a possibility I'm only losing out on a few upgrades here you can see here a bounty hunter is not up to rank five and armored yet and the guild also holds quite a few more upgrades for these guys too unfortunately he's only a rank 4 for a few things but I really can't afford to spend that much more money so this is gonna be just about as good as it gets unfortunately it's not bad it's not a bad thing there's nobody committed in the estate either you could probably assume that by this point huh let's run it down let's see why this let's see why I should feel good about this let me try to convince myself because I've got a pretty damn good squad right here I've got this bounty hunter with a combo of trinkets that I'm not really sure why I haven't utilized before the double boxes are really good he only loses two accuracy from this which made I really god I hope that doesn't actually make a difference but and then of the crescendo box adding a little more stress the stress could be an issue here but we'll hopefully not have to deal with too much also warrants tactician so he's got a lot of extra bonus damage here looking good ham Master with a cudgel weight with a two hundred and four percent chance to stun something the only thing that's gonna be avoiding the blackjack is a thick-headed enemy which there could be quite a few of if I get unlucky we've also got hounds Harriett rank 5 this is a questionable call actually happened along I'm ago I didn't spend the money on this just now but we have this skill unlocked and I think I might as well try to use it because corpses are gonna become a big problem in this place I don't have a corpse clear equipped and I don't think I'm going to I don't really think I have an option besides the Vestals in fact I don't think the Bounty Hunter has one appreciate the herbalist doesn't have one so yeah that would be all we could do so this is gonna be kind of my solution to that if at all possible stuns bleeds marks of course hounds rush is good as well this guy is extremely valuable in this squad not to mention the fact he's rocking the ancestors Lantern as well so hopefully he doesn't die that'd be nice our Vestal our legend Vestal both healing items divine grace and comfort I mean it's pretty self-explanatory here right hopefully she doesn't die two men the herbalist here in the back with the bola also have her mark equipped rallying player obviously would be useful for the swine God but I keep this just in case we get the stun chances and of course her heal is basically necessary feather crystal and the maesters had to help us out a little bit more there too this is a good team this is a very good team with key weaknesses lack of stress healing no disease removal but those are things that we really can't get around without bringing two specific class types in this mod which by the way quick update I can't show it here though but if you go back to the menu you you are now able to actually select and deselect mods from the menu in darkest dungeon which is awesome I'm really happy that's a thing so thank you very much Red Hook for that but anyway yeah let's go in with the Huntsman's core I think this will go fairly well like I think this is a good enough team to at least survive to at least make it through this to activate the shrines and be okay so let's try it out let's get two stacks of food here and along with five shovels of course I want to bring the torch light that is not quite what I was looking for I can't get the full stack because White's giving me that result okay so let's bring I do want to bring a lot more than that hmm how about only four shovels I guess 20 20 torches is probably okay what else would I be bringing here I have a bandage already which is nice I should bring a few daggers I'd love to get while I mean [ __ ] I'm so close to getting another shovel here what if I get screwed by that maybe I could just avoid obstacles maybe I'll get lucky with a layout here I got to spend all of my money though it would be foolish not to and what's the most efficient way to do so I'd like to get I kind of want to get an anti-venom just to play it safe I might end up dumping that off I really hope I don't I'll use it very early if I have the opportunity to do so I need keys though as well I'm not bringing any keys out with this what if I brought one key two daggers and that's that's about the extent of it I guess I could like sell one food but I'd rather not have an uneven stack that would be interesting I think this is gonna have to do it is this is a pretty good inventory I'm fairly happy with this I could sell another trinket or two and probably do a lot better though well I want to sell maybe the lucky dice I don't really use these anymore do I let's get rid of those 450 that gives me the shovel it gives me close to another key what if I sold one more thing one more little garbage trinket maybe one of these moon items I mean these are low priority items at this point aren't they but they are they're also very good items if I use them the blinding satchel is not very good I could get rid of this actually you know what I'm gonna get rid of that that's not good enough to keep and let's get one more key let's get ourselves well [ __ ] man I got the extra money I might as well use it now how about the full stack of food another four for that because that could be extremely helpful I mean I don't do it often and I try not to do it but I might need that I might need to heal with the food here and then let's just do it man [ __ ] it let's just be let's just be cautious okay spend an awfully long time in the prep stage this time around but with good reason and I am going to approach every single fight with a level of meticulous attention to detail that will almost become obnoxious hopefully so why don't I stick with anyway so we've got the bonus damage in the Warrens as well of course which is exclusively why I've chosen to go into this place carelessness will find no clemency in this place that's [ __ ] hilarious by the way good joke game yeah that's that's a [ __ ] uproar right there alright well that was a fairly easy start I don't think I actually want to use a torch here but I'm gonna cuz why not hey a bandage what do you know that's actually an extremely good sign I traded torch for a bandage if I had the knowledge of forefront any day and let's go ahead and keep this torch light up as well this is why we brought these out to begin with look at that timing avenging large flesh epicurean so we are going to go for the thing we can kill the fastest and that was nearly it holy [ __ ] okay well now we can mark you reduce your dodge significantly if we get lucky with the debuff which we did not lunch is okay I guess I'm gonna stay ahead of healing obviously there's the blight so there's my anti-venom and I'm absolutely gonna do that right now thank you very much Mount Airy will not kill you because you've just regenerated so this makes sense although I could also prevent your turn ooh man if I hounds Harry it lands 4-4 he's gonna survive for yet another turn so I think he'll survive no matter what I think I want to let the bounty hunter go ahead and try to just kill that worm will deal with the corpse for one round and that'll probably be fine or a judgement might just knock him out that's close I think I'll take that chance enemy krump alright so that does mean the corpse is here for around however it is in rank free so it shouldn't make a difference because we'll just kill this guy and it's not gonna be able to act in any meaningful way and while we're doing a good amount of damage this is looking pretty awesome does not dissuade the sharpened blade that was very good okay a trifling victory you fed up don't get surprised by anything three enemies will always be welcome here that's a charming Thunderer so he goes first and I go all in on the damage right look at how hard our bounty hunter hits that's a minimum of thirty that is phenomenal she does not have as good of a stun chance unfortunately and I don't know about healing so I guess I'll just take a judgement here and that's a quick meat hooker so you're probably gonna be who I want to get rid of first I'm just gonna oh I really just want to kill you so can I get it with her I don't think it's a very likely thing actually let's go for the double stun with Ebola it's not very likely but I get to spread out damage in hopefully she gets close enough to take care of these guys you've got eleven left and I really don't want to leave you alive how much does this dealing still 45 yeah right bleed if I can oh that hurts absolutely gonna heal you please don't do too much more that's a little better all right ease quick oh [ __ ] oh they all hurt so much okay I could clear the corpse but I can also nearly one shot one of these guys I can absolutely one-shot this guy so let's just take out the quick one it's the attack off right away okay so now it's the corpse gotta go for a big heal on either of these guys and because he's got a self heal that he could potentially equip I'm gonna go ahead and go for the Bounty Hunter because he can't help himself I can Battlefield bandage as well but I almost am able to kill this guy and in fact I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be able to do so but maybe I should go for the healing that does risk allowing does risk allowing the the corpse to turn however what I could do is bow field bandage hounds rush spot one clear the corpse deal with this and him next round I think I want to take a chance on this I need to do healing when I can because if I try to yell at this start of the next fight I'm gonna get [ __ ] over so I like this play that's gone got lucky with the damage there too but I kind of needed to take that risk now I can stun you and that actually opens up my possibilities quite a bit maybe even another battlefield bandage here I might be able to be able to damage necessary to get rid of the corpse I can also just kill you may be the vessel act first if the Hound master goes before the vestal everything's [ __ ] but if the reverse is true then I'm good to go so let's try this out well okay can i still play around with this not really all right destroy them he's actually pretty good to have I'll keep that around for a while we use our key here too I might not have the space for this stuff though yeah okay well I mean I could pop this right now it's probably a terrible idea that might be disease though maybe I should wait until it's absolutely necessary to do that I could use my extra food here but that's a little sketchy as well I don't have to take the cress I can get rid of those they're not imperative I'm gonna worry about keeping myself alive for now and not not focus too much on getting the extra good easier I'm really not that interested in going this way or unsurprising but I have to predate even the earliest sort of preferred not to have to go through any unnecessary hallways and that is obviously something that could be good I guess yay oh wow that's a really good one that is 10% protection that replaced armor takers oh my god literally could not have been better I didn't even try to do that I'm not gonna take credit for that at all well done Bret Vil you're a genius never mind everything about you is terrible furious is the trap makers aren't you rid of that advocacy unwitnessed by his own eyes easy come easy go I guess okay well he didn't really gain anything out of going down this way unfortunately and I have shadowy light as well so I think I'm just gonna go ahead and keep using these oh it's a skiver Oh God can I kill it real quick do I have enough damage if I hit him with everybody 21 he's got 15 percent protection what if I reduce that with this debuff resistance is pretty high his moveset is horrifying I can't stun him 90% protection wait a minute cudgel wait blackjack yes that'll do I can stun you deal with these guys heal the [ __ ] out of myself I think I mark him as well okay I think I've got this didn't debuff that's okay i sniper shot here right I really want to heal I've got to heal with the vestal but I sniper shot here hope for the crit yes judgment plus hound master plus dog biscuit might be enough 32:39 do it do it bleed he didn't bleed judgment minimum chance to hit ever it is oh my god okay oh that thing being alive is terrifying these do by themselves however are not too bad however that's a charmer did not notice that till just now that would have been good info certainly wouldn't have changed my priorities but oh this is so bad this is so bad what a horrible fight what an ungodly fight this is man Jesus Christ how in the [ __ ] do you deal with this room it was only three people can you imagine don't hit him yeah that's lets tell me not to do that oh holy [ __ ] hmm like I want to stun my friend that's hilarious that that's might be my best call here but oh boy I've got to stun this one to prevent it from dealing more damage it's a shapeshifter so it could turn into something much worse and obviously we want to heal I gotta hope he goes for the mark oh thank god I did not know how long I could have handled that that is you suck and there we go again doing what I can just do a heel or something yeah all right that not exactly what I hoped for but okay hmm yeah do that and then we still got a heel and then the bounding order I can luckily actually do something next turn but it's not gonna be as good as it could have been getting a little lucky with that and now this [ __ ] are bolused is gonna have an action bounty hunter please act first mark for death on this one is gonna do it oh I get bonus damage here too I can actually stress here with that but that is a small chance it doesn't work and I obviously do not want to let that happen Wow 56 with that hit though that'll help a little bit more stress on the our ballista and bulimic okay if I can get a bandage off I'd love that yes and the vestal thank you we're gonna stun this guy I probably just have to deal with that corpse for a second man that was so horrifying great heal wonderful heal thank you very much and the you know what did forget we've get a little we got a little bit of stress relief from the vessel as well so that's nice too I like that thank you very much these nightmarish creatures can be felt they can be beaten you know the Bounty Hunter wouldn't do terribly in spot 3 then we could have a corpse clear obviously she's horrible in spot 1 so maybe that's an argument against it but maybe a consideration for the future bounty hunter in spot 3 I hadn't really given that much thought you get the pole forward of course with the hook and slice and what would you build around that I need more front liners I mean I've got a lot of people that fit in spot 3 so I probably don't need to add one more to the mix how's our trap disarmed by the way should be pretty good it's like 120 130 oh my god yes how are you looking actually you got a good chance for this 110 I mean that should work right we might as well reduce some stress this way let's do it yay Holly she's bulimic as well forget about that she's gonna be - 20 % healing done when camping probably one of the least worrisome diseases we could come across so that's that's nice at least there's a small silver lining I have a small dagger for this he doesn't care nasty gash oh good job I did bring five shovels as well forgot about that so we're not feeling too bad about the obstacles but I'd obviously like to have avoided the unnecessary one light is beginning to become a concern as well eleven torches having only gone through this little amount of the dungeon however this is a nice fine and this looks like a ripe opportunity for hounds Harry so that is probably gonna be a route we take I could stun the [ __ ] out of these folks - which are the most threatening ones inspirational Thunderer Deadeye and hardened I think the Deadeye is probably the scariest of the lot I'm giving up a lot of damage if I do this though maybe I should just go for the mark and not the mark the I collect bounty man any of these will work not quite the chance to kill but it is a significant amount of damage then hounds Harry will probably be enough just the combo of those two yeah that's a good stuff that's the good stuff now let's see I don't need to heal Bowl off with a stun chance not quite worth it let's start knocking down your doors I guess I could mark him as well and that certainly helps us out they all resist debuff so frequently very nice all right he's down start a bleed on a couple of these other ones that's no fun I think I'm gonna keep going with the group heels though simply to reduce the stress across the team and because we could use the healings the weapon that cuts on it there's one down yeah let's stick with this and you probably want to address this with a battlefield bandage if at all possible heard her snipe on this guy is not extremely necessary at the moment oh I could hit him with this though no I can not quite [ __ ] that would have probably killed him too let's see I don't want to knock him out without allowing the bleed to clear the corpse even though that may be a little bit of a oversight that was also not what I wanted I don't know why I did that but that was lucky I thought that was the cut awaits none chance and that was not that was the uppercut stun chance which is still pretty good but not nearly as good all right all right probably a good no blight there thank you well hopefully negate a little bit of that stress with the divine comfort here I think another hounds hair is an order see just how effective this really is of course when they resist it it certainly looks like [ __ ] but every other time it's felt okay just sort of cancelling out the damage from this blight here I don't think I necessarily need to try to heal that at this point let's maybe just go for the extra damage on this guy he's got a bleed start it up you know we'll try that out so another hounds hairy here it's close to doing the job but I can probably just knock him out with the collect bounty as well anything better I can do I don't think so some 87 that's good to see that may not have mattered there but that may matter down the road and I'm very happy to hear about that potential they try to get rid of this blight here I don't know nice a little lucky okay I think we'll go for the you go go for the group he'll again as well a little bit more stress healing I'll probably have the first action before he goes he's got a blight or a bleed started already I hope the bounty on her as the speed necessary I'm fairly certain he does this blight is no longer really an issue we got it oh I should have done the finish in for the stress healing oh well yeah whatever precipitation that there we go cool all right one down I'm pretty good I'm feeling really good all things considered like I got a remind myself this is champion level I'm getting this far in this condition that is exquisite this is this is phenomenal so let's keep this up I am feeling very happy now we've got quite a bit left still of course not a lot of scouts going on that's been pretty pretty unfortunate gonna have to force to go through every single hallway here and there's our first Hunger tile as well so that's kind of nice I guess we have a little bit of trade-off there to weber's this is a fight I can handle thank you go hounds rush here I guess bola for this time chance even though it's not gonna work I probably should have done a battlefield bandage there and now even more so definitely do the group heal come on sir I should probably come up first yeah that that loss of speed on my vessel totally sucks still not 100% sold on the sacred scroll because of that but the extra healing has been worth it so far I think British ham there it is that is biological warfare when is that - the tasks I'm kind of holding off on torches here as well because I'm assuming that soon I will be persuaded to use a campfire that is convenient is pretty good Wow oh that's blight see god damn it that is really good still I thought that was the opposite of what it was I don't have any herbs get rid of that either oh well man that what a fine I am tempted to just throw that on their plate you know what I'm gonna the gate de sal it'll be even better once this stupid debuff goes away this is a wonderful trinket for him yes yes yes yes you know what I'm not actually intimidated by this this is a good fight for me you're gonna go first and I might even stun you so tell you what let's start off with this your debuff resistance isn't that good either motivation in the antiquary will probably not do anything of note in fact she'll probably just keep herself alive until she dies that's gonna be fun don't have the best bleed chance I've got the blackjack though he's berserk entry' aliy want to figure out what that means lower dis bleed resistance is well with the blackjack oh my god I love it love it love it love it how about the snipe attack 44 from the ARB list who is more or less acting as a support healer here but it's also doing a considerably good job damaging the enemy's eye stun on the Cultus which probably not gonna happen I don't think I want to go for that let's just do a judgment or something sure yeah that'll do some stress healing for everybody all right that is I guess something smart and applicable to the situation she can muster up oh and did that that cleared the mark didn't it oh that sucks that's unfortunate okay we'll get the bleed here anyway that is really bad damn that's getting worse and worse I should probably focus on that blood I mean that's sort of silly I don't want to leave him with an action though so I think it's probably a good idea to just finish him off we'll do that he's doing just fine on her own really wish I can address this stress how much I can do for that belt Oh close to the kill how about a hounds Harry and maybe land another bleed on the back line here protects me from the antiquarian all right then oh [ __ ] it's definitely what I wanted to avoid there [ __ ] all right well she's gone at least now a little bit of stress relief from that and I can't add further with the group heal which I will certainly do I'm gonna do everything I in my power to prevent her from hitting that resolved check there's two more down okay little by little bit we're gonna fix her Rob they do not want to let up though okay well I guess that makes the group heal a little bit more effective done it yay more for her nope all right struck oh my god that was not what I expected okay three rare antiques Jesus Christ let's get rid of that and take this instead that'll do I think I'm gonna camp out get rid of some stress here on the antiquarian and also heal her up a touch I'm running the risk of running into some big stress letting this torchlight die down in that process though but that is what I want to do here and it did work out okay very nice oh I got stressed faster on her don't I oh my god the convenience of that very nice we'll take the surprise along with the prevention of ambush here therapy dog is nice but I don't necessarily need it on anyone else I think I might just go for encourages if I got him I do not [ __ ] you have anything chance I'm not gonna help that much well [ __ ] at least we got the feast down to 68 I may take restring crossbow it's always nice marching plant is pretty good too I think I'm gonna take that speed buff what else could we do here this is really good actually you know what I should do this well release the hounds I can do tracking it yeah [ __ ] it why not that sounds fantastic and then let's yeah even pet doggy this is all pretty good okay the light the promise of safety that is all extremely beneficial we get a little light as well we're just going to ignore that quite a few lucky unintentional curio interactions I don't want to push my luck too far with that there's a surprise attack as basically expected now ferocious cutthroat probably gonna be the first to go and I don't think I need to mark this guy we'll just go for the straight-up damage here I don't want to take a you-know-what bolas good I don't want to take a dog biscuit here so let's just let's just assume I can finish my off with something oh you know what how about a hounds Harry on these guys it's not quite there and I also have lowered blights or a bleed skill Chancellor I guess we just do that he's ferocious so I want to leave him be although that is suboptimal II handled I think and this is also not a great stun chance but are these torch lights so I suppose I might as well give it a shot hey look at that alright that is extremely good now that it worked out group heal again obviously benefiting from the stress heal on that so I'm more than happy to let that be my turn I think I'll go for a couple of uh stuns actually if I can get so lucky and maybe try to stall this out a little bit longer crit on there is obviously helpful I might want to have to just kill this guy now unfortunately now who feels even better let's see how's rush it's not gonna quite do it actually so let's just go for this instead there we go alright much much better feeling good she is still stressed fasting as well so I may want to I try to capitalize on but that is sort of risky whenever I end up doing that no stress on the Benham none of these three guys have stressed that is miraculous how about the crit kill not quite he's bleeding he's not quite there though damnit well we get another group he'll obviously just [ __ ] perfect then and just absolutely flawless there we go alright well he's already gonna die so tell you what let's just go for a little bit more stress healing on our folks which obviously is not needed on the bounty hunter but if we get another group heal here never mind this is how a life taken I do not need the book of intuition absolutely not necessary we are gonna keep the torch light pretty much at a hundred now though there it is good good good good good and the Scout that's what we get the campfire skills for baby one more one more we're doing really good we've gotten some fairly easy fights but I've also had a couple of scary ones and I'm pretty proud of the way we've handled those what do we get speaking of scary insatiable ghoul could absolutely [ __ ] me up he's got a lot of stress that could pile up on the árboles really quickly a single skull toss basically ruins my day let's mark well go for the blackjack if I get the speed that's a good target that's fine with me I'll just still just group heal for this blackjack right or do I I think I could dog biscuit pounds rush forty five damage yes that coupled with this I think we got it bounty hunter should be able to get the remainder of that hand yeah I think I can do this now make sure something from him doesn't totally [ __ ] us over either butcher cut okay resisting bleeds really well I'm getting so lucky with that to finish him did we get a bleed we did all right he's done next battlefield bandage or just another mark I could use reduction of protection on this guy but now don't want to count the debuff landing and the mark obviously helps to still got the dog biscuit active so I'm still taking advantage of that now I definitely need a big heal on my own master please resist the bleed again thank you very much love that and I'll probably battlefield bandits here actually I get the opportunity I might not yeah let's do it then maybe stall this for a group he'll know all right [ __ ] fantastic just so good so good and I'm Adam run room for gold unbelievably I am gonna get rid of this thing cuz I don't think I need it anymore I'm feeling awesome overconfidence is the slow and insidious killer but I hopefully will be out of this dungeon fairly soon and I won't have to worry about that anymore not here though no not here and then these are surprised I still think I'm gonna fight him I don't want to add on the stress from running away so let's just deal with this who is the most threatening probably you I have enjoyed this pattern so far of marking with the Bounty Hunter's stunning with with the Hound master and otherwise allowing me the other friends to go about their business sniper shot on this guy oh that's right he can't land that okay well bola then shuffle them around if I get lucky nope not at all spread out some damage a little bit okay so dazzling light do I want to try it they do not have that much resistance and stunning this guy's a very good idea if I get so lucky but not gonna happen disease resistance on you is not good enough the red plague [ __ ] I think that lowers wow really and all of a sudden it starts to go south Jesus well first of all let me see what this is gonna do to us if I get the [ __ ] opportunity thank you that's what I thought okay he is going to bleed every time so that's horrifying you can still deal damage though god damn it all right we'd love for stuns to land here the bullet chance is still not that great I think I need to heal my fellows up actually that Plus group heal is still probably pretty good although I think I might need to go for a solo on her and again the stress is starting to pile up a little bit so maybe that's a pretty good benefit let's prevent some damage here how about okay I think we'll stick with this I think she's feeling okay for now we're still severely benefiting from that stress reduction is not the correct choice of adverb come on now got reading though we got rid of the chance for him to be bled out at least so we don't have to worry about that anymore that'll do starts to bleed there I'm not gonna stun this guy I don't think so how about we try to kill him instead fantastic six stress relief and I don't think I need to heal again we'll do this you don't have to deal with the corpse great stuff everybody's feeling good not too much stress either kill him I forgot the [ __ ] and finish him again I got to keep I keep doing that hunger tile is actually perfectly fine because I don't have to eat all the food thankfully alright this is okay get another couple of curios here we got an empty hallway so I'm not really looking at too much as far as difficulty goes assuming it doesn't add on further nonsense as we get down into here let's hope not hey that's not bad actually I can certainly benefit from this thank you I'm okay with using another shovel all right please come on just be here just the head of your friend without sounding mad by by sounding mad of course yes yes yes thank you thank you merciful gods of the Warrens your pity has not gone unnoticed let's leave although oh man is that tempting but I I want to get out now let's let's consider this a boon shall we let's remove every bit of stress possible therapy dog of course prevent the ambush as well what do we got we got chant to remove a little bit extra from the from the árboles sure and then that'll do it that'll do it the way is lit the path is clear oh yes we require only the strength to follow it that was wonderful knocked down the shrines not a lot of money but I'll take it the Raiders talisman as well which is either sellable or decent depending on how you want to look at it a couple more legends as
