Baer Plays Forager (Ep. 2)

as you can see here I've been busy not as busy as we've been though or just about as busy in fact well all the same let's get back to it I got to remind myself what I got going on oh this isn't gonna take a lot of time at all I'm actually very familiar with what we got going on here yet it's like I spent four hours four and a half straight hours playing this game yesterday or something yeah thank you for the 20 gifted subs out of the gate holy much obliged payday means twenty gift it deserves well that's very kind of you extremely kind of you thank you so much I was gonna crack open a cold one but that would take away from that from though genuine excitement I'm feeling about that gifted sub bonds thank you so much all right well apparently we've got a couple of skill points to spend right away so let's go ahead and have a look at what I think will be the best options for us there and it occurred to me when I was playing in the other save file the capitalism might be a little bit Opie actually in fact I think this is the way to go in the late game gaining XP whenever you sell anything especially because we have such an abundance of a lot of different stuff I think this is gonna pay for itself pretty quickly so I'm gonna grab that oh my god another 10 and soul tech in there with the Reese absque rip ssin is well for 11 months thank you buddy well come on into the pile y'all if we want we could probably just go ahead and buy some more land which probably wouldn't be a terrible idea I gotta find a way to get through these spikes get over to the boss chests in there at some point - that'd be really nice but I'm able to afford quite a bit of land right now I'm gonna go ahead and buy some oh I'm actually familiar with this one okay let's go ahead and check that out real this game games substantially by way of remapping or additionally mapping I should say the where is it going to show up here I think if you do it right here yeah there you go blind the tab button as a secondary menu toggle I promise you it seems like a tiny little thing it's so nice you know what to reach up to the escape key it's a tiny little gamer thing somebody that would complain about having all right let's have a look I know I've got that new island up there I could go check out the double items continue to pour out for us crystal something we got a fine and we can actually probably upgrade the Nomad or two the Nomad shovel pretty quickly here if I just started digging up around the area so I'm gonna do that exact thing that sounds like a good plan he's still working through it the aleene's gonna be busy for a minute as other people mentioned I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what biome we dig within to get this sand I think it has the same rate of success no matter what but what's just really funny to consider like why don't we just go to the desert and why doesn't that work I mean now that I think about it that ought to work right to get the specific thing you need although I guess you wouldn't want to have to do that every time to the fair no no wow there's a good amount of sand I think that ought to do it can I remember I've got the Thunder rod and the fire rod to whoever needs some help of those things and you know what actually these nightshades are gonna be really useful to it just realized so we should go ahead and snag as many of these as we can I don't know if bones are really gonna have all that much value right now but the night sheets definitely do show them for fun though Oh my inventory is full oh my god oh my god all right well I can put stuff away in the vault I guess let's just go ahead and make this upgrade right now kinda wanna whip up another Forge - let's see what we can build here vault would be just some steel ooh I can make another Bank actually that would be a bad idea I don't really need it though yeah I think that's a really worthwhile another vault would be helpful though let's go ahead and make one more piece of steel so I can do that yeah we have so many fish traps I don't even know if this is really worthwhile anymore for us here because the sand we can get plenty of just by digging the seaweed I don't even really know if there's anything that we use that for and then the fish we have so much of I don't really think it's even worth it anymore to make any or to go through the trouble of grabbing it well we just got double steel there - that was fantastic so do I want to go ahead and make another Forge Oh a mining rod I totally forgot I can build this I wonder what this does digging always yields oh right so with the crystal here we need plastic still all right but we can make the crystal amulet so that's nice and that I think is just gonna give us more resources in general right it'll be nuts we just got to figure out how to make plastic now oh this is gonna be fun let's go get some XP through this blazing pickaxe baby that's how you do it and then move us going quick resource spree nothing wrong with that there we go okay I guess I could put a mining route or two over there - that would make really quick work of that that ought to be my approach probably moving forward I got to get some coal dude and there it is double resources from the crystal amulet holy hell demon amulet electronics but we have everything else for this oh my god we got to figure out how to make electronics and plastics let's see if we can get one from the skill points droids an EMP grenades no flower press boots and gloves I still have even unlock those torches mace and Reapers you know not see them all rocks drop coal still actually would be pretty useful based on what I just saw hmm you do that desert sine island oh no I forgot yeah I keep forgetting about that - huh I wonder how you unlock those things where would electronics be there what is plastic made out of plastic how the should I know [Music] I'm not factories alright yeah okay so we'd probably have to build them out of the factory huh think I'm gonna make another I always forget what these are called furnace especially cuz it's only stone that you need to put him down I need to make more stuff simultaneously and probably don't need to make 16 of these it's gonna make eight let's go get them out I'm gonna get all the leather we can to kill all the chickens damn it there's a mad mad as hell I need more mining rods as well but I got to make this factory first just to see what I can make from that Royal Steel here I'm gonna make glass in this furnace in a second these double items dude this is awesome yes so good I can still spend this skill point - hang on let's go ahead and get something real quick better tell me not to sub you the beer X I mean I'm not gonna stop you I would love it if you did that dude I'm just gonna that's probably near the end of this tech tree this lasers thing so we're not unlocking a lot more beyond that mining rods dealing double damage can be fun it's probably not really necessary oh yeah I've got the same stuff in my vault - a good point I should go down the magic branch a little bit and see what we can do I bet these potions are fun shrines oh we have to unlock novice potions I wonder if you have like basic potions to start off with I hope so what does the market have right now anyway it's red eye lavender would actually be pretty nice I prefer to be nightshade but may still dunno what this is I should probably wait and put that away to actually have no idea what I'm using that for so let's put this in the vault and then we got a combine whatever stuff we've got elsewhere oh yeah here's the cinderbloom okay so I can take this and put it in this one and then what is the other thing you were talking about there's the let's see is it the flower maybe or demon horns we had a lot of actually there's that and then we can go ahead and put two new things in here too so let's go ahead and store lavender I guess and probably not crystal I don't know nightshade which I don't think I put those in either of these did I that's an anchor yeah okay there we go make the maximum amount of glass let's go digging oh we gotta go do this some freakin island over here I've never done or I've yet to do I should say I know yeah I got it equal I got Royal Steel in the vault - god damnit so I've seen this island on my other playthrough so it's been spoiled for me a bit but all this sign says it's very upfront about it it says there's a secret where the flowers do not reside and you just dig that up and there it is there's also a bunch of in the spaces around here so there we go it gets to be immediately wealthy and this upgrade to this shovel is pretty fantastic dude I like that a lot more sand for us try to give us enough to ideally get the glass we need okay we need to procedure is here so we get this key which I believe we've acquired we go up here we unlock this by the thing about a boom oh the lantern nice we able to see better at nighttime I dug up a Sphinx I shovel - the demon amulet required some electronics which is gonna be even more complicated however that might be worth pursuing pretty early on actually oh my god just give me double paper or double paper nice huge backpack I don't think inventories gonna be a problem for a little bit tycoon bag bag oh my whip up a big wallet for me huge steal from mining rods yeah that's another big thing we got to do thank you but I had a few things over here I hadn't grabbed in a minute all right so let's go ahead and head down here and place down some mining rods once we grab some steel I guess it's gonna take a minute actually I'm gonna make 1/2 here need to get some more break going now how many rods could we make right now probably don't even know I can make one right now I can't I need 8 steel oh my god much further off than I thought it was from that hooray it doesn't really help now but all right huge wallet probably even less helpful and I used all my damn fancy stuff I'm sure that'll have other applications all right well we really just need to get some oil some bottles for that oil as well so let's make some more glass I guess out of the sand we've got which I think we've got a good amount of it right now yeah let's go ahead and start making this up again 9 total that'll do the job Oh yo golden egg golden egg we got to give it to the archaeologists there you go yeah oh we can probably give her the pumpkins too still gonna find where that scroll is nothing here we've got another single clue what is doing or what this game is about at this stage of the in the game it's a bit difficult to parse what's going on I'll give you that but I think that a script around it's a combination of terraria stardew and Zelda is still enough for people to be like okay I see what's going on and I hope it's not for you - it's got like it feels like a clicker game at times but it's more engaging than that it's not fair to call it a clicker Hale hydrate as well I [Music] should eat swords then we'll whip one up tax had a 50% chance to freeze enemies and we unlock spirit crystals interesting to imagine a sword is made here and that's easy enough okay bone sword let's do it
