Baer Plays Astroneer (Ep. 2)

catch any of our playthrough yesterday it's a fun fun game I'm really diggin it very unique art style as you can see here quite polygonal we've got ourselves a base underway having constructed a few large platforms it's not the prettiest thing in the world I got to admit right now but it's it's a work in progress currently we are seeking out these research nodes or what we like to colloquially refer to as avocados and those are going to be what allow us to acquire bytes as you can see here in the overview screen bytes are what are required to unlock differents research so for the small oxygen tank for example it costs 1,600 bytes to be able to uh construct that mods for different things drill mods dynamite that sounds like fun and fireworks ooh I just want to get that for the fun of it so yeah things are looking pretty good here we got a little bit of storage down as well I think you know what right now there's not gonna be many times that I feel tempted to to organize I think I'm gonna take advantage of that little bit of organizational bug that's biting me right now so first of all I want to know whether or not I can actually get rid of this landing pad I don't think you can I think it's just kind of stuck there the file at 0:40 nope sorry seven months in a row someone's at 40 above that seven months ago from the fire thank you buddy appreciate that welcome on back in the storage off to the side here since this doesn't even necessarily need to be plugged in kind of makes sense for me put it toward us though just to be able to grab things quickly this music though fully onboard with this like a lot of power yep you think a lot of power does seem to be like a pretty smart idea orally on here what I think I want to do is spend our bites on those new power sources we've got the solar panel of course right now the small solar but oh we can make this now oh we have the bytes to research that now no that's right okay so we want to wait until I've got the the best stuff what extenders do I wonder I've gotten those before but I don't know exactly what they're for a wind turbine could be good I'm kind of tempted but I also kind of want to hang on to the bytes to probably just go with another solar panel here that might provide us with enough power is that a resin storage it's sort of seeming to be that right now isn't it yeah in fact when I go by way of organization there now it's a proper resin storage plenty of room for other here we go I do need to get some some compound actually to be able to get some tethers out with me because I I know I'm gonna want those dammit let's grab at least a stack of 10 what is that that's 11 I guess good enough what about the Power Cells that's just a base battery I guess so I feel like the Power Cells like a consumable thing I don't fully understand that either I wonder if there's some sort of there's gotta be like let me look here Astra pedia there we go see look at this so if we do mmm no this is just gonna give me like a general overview I suppose yeah that's not gonna help out power sockets improve module performance by attaching additional power sources print extenders to direct the power flow around your base that's what extenders are for okay Power Cells are consumable power like the filter for power that's what I thought yeah okay that was my understanding - hey Dan how are you doesn't seem like a terrible idea then - uh well you know what I really ought to do is bring back that giant wind turbine that we found out there but that's gonna be easier said than done of course would be good to build another Rover - um kind of curious to see how the tractor would fare as well let me have a look at how much how many bytes it would take to whip that sucker up that's gonna be down here I think a buggy medium Rover that might be a lot better to actually but hang on there you are on a large Rover small medium and large shuttle ooh baby the big-time stuff where was the tractor though there you are - aluminum for the tractor I feel like something called the tractor is probably gonna have a slightly easier time going around rougher terrain although then again that might just be better suited for like lugging stuff smaller distances like hauling in giant debris maybe that's what the tractors for trailer sort of probably serves a similar purpose I'd suspect the good time Dan yeah research a seat because you didn't create to last well that's a fair point actually yeah I won't be able to use any of this stuff without any seats now we do have the rover seat research - actually now we just have to get the compound for it well let's go get some more bytes than I guess tractor in a trailer train behind it okay so then we could get like a big haul going huh I see well ahead of anything else before we even start to wander off again I really got to get some avocados started in the research centers so let's get going with that see if I can't find something out here in the wilderness I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll probably find a few of them just scattered around on top here gotta get some more compound - this wouldn't hurt in fact it might be in my best
