Baer Plays ISLANDERS (Ep. 3)

a highscore run going here we're on to the next island after having built quite well here souped up our score quite a bit so let's keep calling I like games just like this a lot likes mods like I've always kind of had a penchant for city building like even as a kid like I know a lot of kids had these but I had those little wooden coloured blocks that you could build stuff with I'd play with those all the time I would build new constructions with those blocks incessantly it's an interesting way I'm gonna statue over here with the gold mine so looking like that's gonna be where our our luxurious folks reside so how about we go ahead and start with the lumberjack over on this area it's gonna be pretty good that's a 30-point lumberjack if I just drop it dead center though and I kind of want to I'm very tempted how can I make it if I did this over here though that would be pretty effective too it's just that it's not nearly as good I thinking honestly I ought to do this just to be able to benefit from both sawmills too this is probably the way to go didn't over here though it's still a plus 19 and I might even be able to put like another sawmill right here or something I think we could in fact and then I could do one over here and that would be like a 15 a 16 or 20 even down here we could do one yeah and then we could put a a sawmill dead center I think that would work just do it over here to get the 25 no that would cut him off a little bit over there the 24 is okay so if it's 24 then let's push it up as far as we can I think this will do well so long as we're able to get out of the range of that yeah we're able to get at a 19 here that seems worthwhile than me and then we'll put another one over here at some point which should be able to get in the range of this guy but we'll put him on the edge just in case something like this further down there all right about there ought to do it and won't get a look at a couple a a couple of Lumberjacks if they feel like giving them to us and a bad idea in my book now what Brickyard is gonna be interesting I don't see any place for a sandpit I think I'll probably start with a brewery I look that's not what I expected but I'm happy to take it as mentioned we definitely want to try to take advantage of this here can i maybe get a 21 I can twenty-one baby twenty-two [Music] yes get it right there lovely then can even give like a 16 right down here this is incredible man really good stuff and it seems like a good way to do it yeah I think so let's take it then 15 up here as well a lot of value out of these this is fantastic I think we're taking this one then another one right here it should be really good we don't have to worry about knocking these trees out of course this is excellent that's 21 from that okay so you have two breweries but no hop fields I'm really sure what to make of that shamans not gonna have a lot to work with let's work with a city pack for now and try to put this city center right next to the statue there's not anything else that's gonna benefit it right now of course it seems like a good idea right in the midst of it I can't want to put it in the area of the gold mine too though I'm wondering I'm debating whether or not it's better actually to build a city center further away from that I think it might be this is probably better in fact yeah I think we'll do something like this you can build a couple of mansions behind it yeah and then we can build more stuff directly adjacent to the statue as well and that'll be better put you here works for me I wonder if I put this there if I'll be able to put another one behind it one way to find out let's see you can always do that I'll just probably a joke enjoyed knees here like this I guess so that does the job Fisher these around here maybe I could hold off in the houses for now to see what else we get a fountain two of them my we're gonna be living lives of luxury over here 25 right there already I could benefit from the statue as well though 25 in this region that actually looks kind of cool I could build around that for sure let's do that although if I put one down here we'd be able to build another one up there by the fountain pardon me my god that's really appetizing leave some space yeah I was actually thinking about that leaving a space near the statue for for a temple in the future I probably will indeed do that and then look at this another 25 stuff out in over here can almost place it adjacent to the other one this isn't bad yeah and occupies not an ideal space I suppose I might just put it in this corner but that'll probably work out a little worse hmmm actual city planning I know how crazy right this looks pretty good too we can start building houses over in this area and then ideally build a temple like in the middle of all of it but I think what I kind of want to do is make it so it's about the same alignment as this one but just over here now I'll probably for the best but I do want to make it so like these benefit from it too although I guess that doesn't really matter yeah strike cover as much of this area as possible I guess oh no yeah again I keep thinking that like this this sphere matters after I build it which it doesn't I don't think so I'll do this and we'll start building houses over here I think I'm not sure yet very tempted just to take this 25 other mansion do we have available right now I got this guy if it's in pretty snug right there actually that's not too bad it just leaves a little gap I think we'll take that another lumberjack oh we love this positioning for sure 15 there to get those other trees it's not what I wanted to do anyway yeah that's probably it is there something better the +10 we got a 12 although there's no way this is gonna be the way to do it yeah I'm pretty sure we got to do it over here right in that little wedge that's nice Hut's are always good they combined with the fissures well I just can't imagine the shaman's gonna have a wonderful time here without any flowers are those flowers that's just snow the shaman would help out the mansions the houses I suppose as well right the houses benefit from the shaman know they oh yeah they do okay so if it put a shaman over here +10 what the statue is nice probably helped out a few of the houses plus 13 what's that 3 from there's a flower there Oh are there other controller it'd be it'd be interesting for sure man you know we really could just put this here and just be like this is the temple whenever we get the temple this is where it's going because the temple gets a bonus from the plateau too it won't hit that many buildings still you don't need the place for the temple if you use the wall plateau strats it's so broke and I love it honestly that would be so much better - which I feel like I'm cheating with that because if we just built a shitload of houses and mansions down here and then waited until we get the wall plateau and built it out from this cliff right above them all it would be incredible you got a freakin 135 point temple today see that's the kind of we can get you only get three wall plateaus per island so it's not that broken that's true yeah I guess it is a pretty limited resource but now that does seem like the way to go doesn't it I want to use this Plateau for something else oh that actually look at this this that makes this into a much more useable space and wedged into the texture here that's not bad at all it takes away a little bit of room but it turns it into something a lot more usable we could put a market up there I like that we'll do that now I found this probably gonna work pretty well over here too maybe even dead center where they all looking you know what this isn't bad at all we very well might do that okay [Music] still gonna build off our mansions here as well try as I might to make him fit nice and snug - hmm this corner piece is interesting I think I just want just wedge it in that is awesome I love taverns dude they're always so good 45 right there but I mean it's hard to hard it's hard to deny the utility of that individual space another house damn dude these things are rock-solid for us right now I think this 14 mansions gonna have to cut it yeah we've almost filled this in completely I kind of want to put a park in the middle and that seems like a fine choice Park know if that's an arranged though sky walls near the temple definitely worked before as well yeah we got a ton of walls we have to try to utilize we should have ways to make these good though I just got to find them that's not bad already yeah I mean sky wall temples are always pretty good too especially with the market here if we did this and just built a shitload of walls on the plateau that is adjacent to these guys if I can even find a place to do it I might not be able to do anymore yeah well I still call these houses too I think I just got to try to commit to this place me out here hmm their house here I bet I could if I got the right shape for it or maybe a fountain oh that's a park right there that's oh there we go yes nice if the other threshold there let's see I can knock out these trees these don't matter anymore these don't make a difference the earth that's right I said it three more huts there but I need the trees they're all dead I kill them get over it with Bennet
