@AR500 Armor® Level III+ Torture Test - .300 Win Mag + .338 RUM

I'm back back again with yet another armor test ar500 armor sent me quite a few goodies so look forward to many more tests in the coming weeks in our months depending on my schedule but today we've got their level 3 + plate this is one of the brand new plates at the advertised a rating of 3,100 feet per second as far as velocity for stoppages this guy comes in right around 9 pounds which is actually a full pound lighter than their previous level 3 plates so as always I'm not happy unless I punch a hole through some of this stuff the rounds you guys are going to see in this video obviously are very close to if not borderline above what these plates are designed to stop we're going to use our 300 Win Mag again and our 338 ultra mag when we use 5 v 6 as a control but we're going to punch a hole in this let's get into this so about 35 yards down range we have a AR 500 level 3 + plate well against the tree because we're going for all-out penetration we're going to start with some really fast independence m193 out of a 16 inch AR we're going to step up to 150 grain 300 Win Mag and then finally a 338 Remington ultra mag you so here is our five five six shot no penetration no not even a dimple they're all the fragments caught in the thing they're rubbers nice and hot let's go to 300 Win Mag now so here is our 300 Win we poked a hole on that guy here is the piece of steel that it punched out of it there's the backside the hole now ah let's see what 338 does to it so now we have our 338 ultra mega the 225 grain Nosler our AR 500 little 3 + you here's our 338 225 grain there's a dimple there peel the coating off one thing I really love about the AR 500 armor coating is it seems to hold on to the plate really well I mean we haven't delaminated the entire coating off here yet there's a good sized dimple from that 225 green I have a 250 grain let's try that and see what it does now we have a 250 grain pointed soft point 338 rum try this and see if it'll go through with 25 yards you here is our 338 250 grain shot no pass through got some spalling wanting to come out up here see the dimple it's a little smaller than the 225 grains but no pass through I'm impressed so here's our plate our five five six is down here there's I'm thinking dimple there are 300 Win Mag though popped a teardrop piece of steel out of there the guy we found it weighs ninety ninety three grains our three our 338 ultra mega 225 head over here did not pass through there is a nice dimple on the back there didn't pass through obviously we were going for full out penetration so we didn't have any clay back there or even the right kind of clay to measure back face deformation but that I wouldn't want to get hit with that we even hit it again up here with a 250 grain 338 let me see it broke the coating here when I was a dimple there there's even a bigger dimple from before so slow around was no match for this plate one thing I love about ar500 armours plates are this coating they do exactly what this close to do they're supposed to stop any fragmentation and the coating just all doesn't come off after you hit it a couple times it it just breaks off in chunks as it gets hit and there's still more protection for the for what there's still more protection on the plate for the wear if they got hit with multiple hits of a threat obviously that wouldn't go through so thanks again our 500 armored for sending this plate look forward to other tests with their other armored plates I've got a little more room on this plate if anybody can think of something else they want me to hit this with thanks for watching everybody
