ALL WOOD BIKE - Will It Survive?

gonna throw the camera in the air one two three are you tired of not having splinters in your butt when you write a bicycle well today that all changes the solution we have is a wooden bicycle Morgan [Music] that's what confused is the right emotion you should be displaying right now because I've explained absolutely nothing about what we're doing this is a CNC router the scenes he router takes commands from a computer to cut out the parts that we've built in CAD computer aided design William is realizing that the parts are not cutting all the way through that's because they decided that hanging a giant sheet of plywood up the edge of the router table was a good idea trimming it down was their solution but the batteries are no good what I don't understand though I don't know which little terminal is positive and what's the most not positive is this multimeter broken this bro guy that's what he stole mine my god I just want to know I spent 30 minutes trying to measure voltage with that broken multimeter [Music] we have got ourselves quite the predicament we're hitting the Y and stuff like the machine is physically cannot go any farther back yeah is what it was supposed to do is what it did there - you want to show me what you're working on paint by sticker cat yeah what's going on with your forehead it looks like you have a unibrow Oh [Music] what do you think Morgan about what that piece looks okay to me okay let's go cut more [Music] Morgan yeah what what did we learn why because I think we learned a couple more things one don't take shortcuts we were not adding tabs to the parts to hold them to the main sheet so that we didn't have to cut the tabs off later well the problem is that the parts start falling in and like eighty percent of the time it's fine but when it Rams one part it like ruins the entire cut and then you have to go into the jig if feel like it's a nightmare the other thing too is we learned you can cut pretty fast better to do shorter depths and go faster than deeper cutting depths and go slower you want to start assembling and I'll cut out some more gears and stuff I'll cut out the rest this part where do we use what are you beating what what are you beating me tell me that we gotta get lower this is the the stem coby's the body is humming together yes we want to assemble the gear train then put it in here and install it and then we put the the other half of the frame on we're gonna do a test cut of one of the small gears if it works it's not gonna be sucked into the actual part [Music] that went well what do you think last night was kind of a diarrhea disaster and I don't I don't mean that of a project after we finished cutting some parts or a lot of parts we did some glue up so we can cut the wheel bearing races but today's been kind of rough had to take it easy I had to take it easy he he was the diarrhea disaster in the most literal sense we have many pieces ready to assemble sorry I just blending like this makes you talk funny to frame pieces wheels wouldn't bearing if you want to see more of how the wooden bearings Roommate I knew we couldn't fit all this stuff in the same video so we made a second video you actually probably have already seen it it looks pretty much like a bicycle so what are we gonna do now just assemble the whole thing a lot more gluey I just wanna leave I was leading you into that purposely to start a video right at the worst part of the pie laughs yeah I said this early and you're like DISA good me I kind of wish we would have cut more holes right now I nothing just glued together quite yet and sort of just pieced together to make sure it fit everything spins kind of freely we had a little bit of a disaster trying to get the two smaller gears that go from the first stage that is the pedal to mesh progress we had to rejigger Mon the che poco and trim out a little bit of their kind of diameter radius and that was a pain in the butt wind up crashing the machine to like three times this is why it's important to make sure that your tool is far enough down base constable like popcorn all you have to do now is glue everything together and then hopefully hopefully we have a bike that that doesn't totally explode I mean you know it might happen but what you gonna do there's a lot of torque being transferred through the shaft through glue so we have to like be pretty confident it's enough glue area to hold everything in place and now we wait for them to dry a lot of hammering this is the first test of the completely wood bike with no seat and that it's working this thing ever wait do you hear any like cracking or breaking or is it just working how does it feel without having like a real tire on it [Music] like slippery or yeah you're avoiding turning yeah can you do a wheelie no I can't believe you didn't break it I actually I think you'll break it after yeah sticker yeah after the petals broke off yesterday whoa the petals like roll your feet off okay that's weird okay amazing see you later guys oh my god and the sounds it makes it really just kicked your feet off the pedals oh because the wheels the pedals are rotating in a direction that rides your heels off you have to constantly move your feet back it's constantly ejecting your feet so you have to like slide your feet backwards Michael you wanna write it yeah do you feel like throwing your feet up just like left and right the creaking what if we build pedals that are like extension so that he can reach him I really really we're at Morgan's house do you want to tell me a little bit about your family's obsession with bicycles let's it's kind of a mental illness more than an obsession but we're gonna cover the bike with your cheetah print rag then we're gonna surprise your dad with I really want to see the reaction because this is basically entirely your design right so if he laughs at you it's gonna be funny or if he's impressed and it's gonna be wholesome okay oh this is gonna be great we wanted to do one of these stupid reveals are you excited okay hey gonna get it rip it up yeah right three two one laughs we don't have a seat and we don't have what was the other thing oh the tires we've got a little chewed up so it kind of buying yeah what if this soap look like you I've never the two is sewn inside the tire casing okay so there's no inner tube it's like I'm buying no the tubes in there but you feel this like feel that right there that little Ridge right there yeah it's the stitching they sit in the rib like this like oh you have an actual room for it hundred hundred years ago yeah they've made the rims out of wood where they were wooden wheels there you go move these off going back it just fits in the dish okay that's way less aggressive than I thought it was yeah this tire just fits down in here it's glued right Luud okay and then you let it set up but then you inflate it and it just like it's not coming off all right let's grab the mini bikes and then have a race these are like super hot back in there everybody wanted them but like what do you do with them they're just like a joke it's like an expensive joke yep well Morgan was telling us about your van escapades what was it the van did the bandits the van gang a gang of people with vans it's really windy but we're gonna race the bikes the two mini bikes versus the big dudu wood bike John should we go this layer or start there and come this way you want us to go down [Music] did you see how fast Morgan was peddling that is not sped up its he literally is peddling so fast
